Sunset
Peace and tranquillity
A heart full
A whisper of a breadth
Whispers of the past…
As the rays touch and spread
Orange to amber to firery red
Two onlookers inhale the calm
That rest may bring before the dawn
A day partially over
Time well spent
Minutes to go by too
Melting into hours now new
The vast firmament resplendent in technicolour
Streaks of ambient light
Bold, board strokes…

What I think is kind of interesting is that if Dean Casca Highbottom, seeing exactly how good of a student Young Coriolanus Snow was, had taken the boy under his wing instead of despising him and trying to get revenge on a boy that never knew his father (and who only had of his father the words of others about the great man that he was), he might have had a good helping hand in stopping the games he so deeply despised.
It would have been, at the same time, quite a revenge on Crassus Snow to use his son to dismantle the Games the man helped implement. Not only that, but it would have offered young Coryo a person to depend on during his most formative years where he had to grow up under the immense pressure of keeping up appearances, taking care of an ailing grandmother and fighting everyday to keep himself and his family fed.
What Casca failed to realise during the 10th Games was that there weren't 24 tributes, but 25. Snow was fighting for survival just as much as the rest; of course, with the caveat that Snow was never in danger of losing his life. But, for a boy who had for all his life to survive instead of to live, those two might have been the same thing. In saving himself, Coryo would also save Tigris and his grandmother, while all the other tributes were saving mosty themselves since they would be going home with nothing to show for winning the games other than their lives and some (crippling in some cases) trauma.
Maybe things would have played out differently, maybe not, but we have seen time and time again through all four of the Hunger Games books, the power of a kind gesture: Peeta with the bread, Rue healing Katniss, Katniss singing to Rue, Mags sacrificing herself, Boggs treating Katniss like a young traumatised girl when no one else did. Who knows if Snow (and, in turn, the rest of Panem) wouldn't have benefited from it?

christopher sneaking into chimney's room in fight or flight. he's so full of love, that's why his whole attitude in s7 re: dating is so callous and incongruent to who he is. like, this is the kid whose known chimney for all of half a year and decided he wanted sneak away from the adults/his dad to sit at his bedside and keep him company even though he was asleep/unconscious and you're telling ME he doesn't regard his girl friends feelings with the UTMOST care?????? get outta here with that. he really is a mini buck. feeling everything so deeply with absolutely no idea what to do with it all so he just smushes it down and creates different problems that don't need to exist. bless him.

finally posting this bc i was originally gonna add more to it, and I will but *jazz hands* this for now. Also if you haven't watched trollstopia this is solely based off Pushy Poppy and my belief that she is the Creek of her universe. Which means I make Branch the Poppy, and Creek the Branch...
More on that under the cut :>
IDK HOW EXACTLY THIS WOULD WORK,,, bc although I think she's a self-serving a-hole I don't think Poppy in any universe would be willing to sacrifice her whole species for just herself,... but she might for her only friends. Or more specifically, the only troll that didn't just tolerate her for her status: Branch. (And she doesn't hate Creek, just isn't used to being treated like just anyone, and just anyone to Creek is a nuisance lmao)....and to an extent the Snack Pack (....s-smack pack-).
She's a bitch, but inside she's a little girl who was raised underneath her perished sister's shadow.
Nicknames:
-Puppy (pending)
-Pranch (Party Branch)
-Greek (Grey Creek)
Also huge shoutout to @ryuunoyuki who I chatted to bounce off ideas with and I'm pretty sure she came up with the nicknames hehe!

Bound: Nature and Nurture by @earlgreytea68
What an utterly fantastic fic! I'm happy with how the bind came out, but I have a few things I'd change if I did it again:
I wouldn't forget to put the ribbon in before the endbands
I would make the style more consistent. The chapter headings and the cover do not match at all.
I would be more careful when ironing the HTV on the spine
Not put a dang ampersand in the title on the header and the cover page. Argh.
I WOULD NOT MISSPELL THE AUTHOR'S NAME wow this is embarrassing
Also to note about this bind:
I was going to print the chapter pages in color. I used this lovely graphic and beautiful drop caps, but a 57 chapter fic when you don't have a color printer is maybe not the best choice. Half the sheets would have had color on them, and it would have cost a fortune to print.
I scavenged the end bands and the boards from a book I bought at a library sale. Just to see. I feel like the glue didn't stick as well to the smooth cover as it does to bare chipboard.
The HTV on the spine got messed up a little bit when I was ironing it on, but I was able to pick off the bits that were messed up and iron on a fresh set of lettering/graphic and you really can't even tell now! Whew. (Note to self: Cricut brand metallic htv has been the best of all the brands I've used as far as application goes.)
But all in all, I'm happy with it. It's just for me, after all, so it's okay if it's not perfect. That said, if I do this one again, I'd make a different cover that's more consistent with the chapter headers. (Like, if the author wants a copy?)
Bookcloth: Allure Bookcloth Indigo
Body Text: Corundum Text Light
Chapter Headings: MrKeningbeck Pro
Drop Caps: FLOWER
Inside title: FLOWER and MrKeningbeck Pro and Filson Pro
Cover: Filson Pro
All icons from The Noun Project

The writing in part 1 of jojos specifically really gets to me because dio is such a fascinating villain for a story with such heavy themes of nature vs nurture and humanity and what not but also they do the “you disagree with this mans morals. He puts dogs into furnaces” bit and constantly go “he was born evil hes the devil its in his Blood” its so fucking funny. I dont know im genuinely obsessed with how poorly it fumbles its very few themes. And I know thats not the point. But its just a hysterical reading to me.

I wish the Lost Colonies' cultures and biological quirkw had been delved deeper, especially how they would viciously clash with modern Cybertron, both pre- and post-War.
I mean, I think it's really interesting juxtaposition between the deep scars of Functionism versus the other worlds' sources of prejudice and discrimination. Camien devotion and deification of Solus versus a Cybertron with no femmes with Megatron's and Optimus' cult of personality as well as atheism and agnosticism, especially among their respective inner circles. Cybertron's complete desolation and Eukaris' lush and lively greenery. The meritocracy of racing-obsessed Velocitron. Prion had minicons with multiple alts, and Devisiun yielded split-spark twins. The people of Carcer are those of wardens living in a prison.
Do the Camiens think of their Titan's homeworld as cold and lonely? Would they think of those from Cybertron suffering from disorders from the lack of close, intimate connections and no true community?
Velocritron descended from the scientists of Navitas, and they utilized the scorching heat to derive alternative sources of fuel. Do they scorn the deprived worlds for not searching for solutions?
How do the Eukarians view the others that cyberformed their planets? Do they see Cybertron and the others as sterile and lifeless; their civility is a cheap, hollow mimicry that hides their teeth and claws?
The Carcerians developed an austere culture that prioritized keeping their Titan on complete lockdown to the point sacrificing themselves to achieve that goal. How do they view Caminus' offering to dismantle himself so his own children can thrive in such a harsh environment?
How do diplomacy and common courtesy differ from each planet? The language and food? The behaviors? The relations with nearby neighbors, both mechanical and organic?
