Delhi records 49 degrees and all the residents are asked to stay in!!!

Two stations present at Mungeshpur in northwest Delhi and Najafgarh in southwest Delhi reported a temperature of 49.2 and 49.1 degrees Celsius respectively.

This year, an intense heatwave scorched part of north India on Sunday with places present in Delhi and Uttar Pradesh recording 49 degrees Celsius and more than that. Apart from that the heavy rainfall across Kerala and a red alert are announced by weather forecast by five districts.

At Safdarjung, the temperature has been recorded 45.6 degrees which is the maximum of this season. The Banda district in Uttar Pradesh’s Bundelkhand region has recorded a maximum day temperature of 49 degrees Celsius which is the highest in the state.

According to the IMD, Churu, and Pilani in Rajasthan has reported a maximum temperature of 47.9 and 47.7 degrees Celsius respectively followed by temperature in Ganganagar and Jhansi recorded as 47.6 and Hisar at 47.2.

According to the weather office, it has been said that the maximum temperature has been above 5.1 degrees the normal in the several places which include Haryana, Himachal Pradesh, Delhi, Jammu, Kashmir, Gilgit-Baltistan, Uttarakhand, Bihar, and Punjab. Almost the entire north idea is facing the recorded rise in temperature.

As per the reports by the weather office, it has been expected that there will be an influence of a western disturbance, dust storm, and thunderstorm in several northern parts of India including some parts of the Punjab and Haryana this Monday while it has also been expected that there will be a mild dust storm in the several parts of the Haryana, Punjab, west Uttar Pradesh and also in Delhi NCR.

When north India is suffering from the heatwave there is heavy rainfall in some parts of the south such as Kerala and Lakshadweep.

i love when ppls political stances become sooo far removed from the reality of taking human life i really think we should recentre this in the conversation. like my stance on the war in ukraine is inseparable from the fact i am almost always opposed to the murder of human beings. a lot of people who think of themselves as super liberal are actually quite radical in how bloodthirsty they are if you actually make that connection, which i feel like a lot of them don’t because they have almost completely mentally severed the connection between war and human beings dying so they just see the righteous anthropomorphised form of Ukraine fighting against the condemnable anthropomorphised form of Russia and the possible death of the imagined national body outweighs the reality of like hundreds of thousands of actual human bodies being destroyed. anyway good morning

Love that the news is all up in arms against some politician because he won’t say white nationalists are racist, and then incorrectly cite the definition of white supremacy as though they were synonymous and/or interchangeable, when that is just blatantly not true, and then they pretend to act all high and mighty because they think they pulled some kind of gotcha.

They are deliberately confusing white nationalism with white supremacy which are similar, yet distinctly different beliefs. White Supremacy is the belief that white people are superior to other races. White Nationalism is the belief that races should not intermingle, and that all countries should be racially homogenous, and in this case specifically regarding white people. There is no inherent belief that white people are superior, only that non-white people should “go back to where they came from”, I.E: Mexico, Africa, etc.

This doesn’t necessarily mean white nationalists aren’t also racist or supremacists, it just means that racism is not inherent to their belief, nor is a sense of supremacy.

Normally, I don’t give a shit about the distinction as both beliefs aren’t ones I hold, but when ABC News is shoving it down my throat that they pulled some kind of epic pwnage against a Republican after deliberately misconstruing the definitions of two words, as someone who actually appreciates the English language, I start to get annoyed.

Words matter, people.

PM Modi inaugurates revamped Pragati Maidan, claims India will be 3 most powerful economy in his third term in power

On Wednesday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi talked about his third term in power and how he will be able to put India on the top world economies map. He promised unprecedented growth in India and showed his commitment to putting India in the world's top three slots.

The PM was inaugurating Delhi's revamped Pragati Maidan where he sent across a message of growth and development in India and said, "From east to west, north to south, India's infrastructure is changing... The world's highest rail bridge in India, the longest tunnel at the highest altitude is in India, the highest motorable road, the largest stadium, the largest statue -- all of it is in India".

He further added that the growth of the Indian economy will align with the country’s aspirations.

"In our first term, India was in the 10th spot in terms of economy. In my second term, it is the world's fifth-largest economy. On the basis of track record, I will make the country believe, in the third term, the economy will be among the world's top three," he added. "In my third term, India will stand among the top three economies. And this is Modi's guarantee".

The inauguration of The International Exhibition-cum-Convention Centre which is now renamed "Bharat Mandapam" is the first ground for the political pitch of Narendra Modi for the next elections. He compared how India has grown significantly in the last 9 years compared to its growth in the 60 years since independence.

"In the last 60 years, India managed to electrify only 20, 000 km of rail lines compared to the 40,000 km achieved by his government in the last nine years... Now every month, we are completing a 6 km metro line, less than 4 lakh km of village roads... In 2014, Delhi Airport's capacity was around 5 crore a year. Now it is 7.5 crore... The number of airports has reached 150," he said.

The PM also took a jibe at the opposition parties joining forces to pull him down and called them negative-minded people who try to stop the developments like the Bharat Mandapam.

"These people tried to stop this Bharat Mandapam. It is some people's compulsion to stop every work. In breaking news, what was shown? So many cases were filed... I am confident that after a while, those people will come here for some lectures or event," he said.

For those that aren't in Australia right now, we have the funniest scandal going on.

Firstly let us introduce you to the eye of the storm: Sam Kerr. Sam is a women's soccer player who has in the last year become one of the most famous and beloved athletes in Australia. Captain of the women's national team, Sam became something of a cult figure after the last Women's Soccer World Cup became a complete unpredicted sensation in Australia, with the whole country getting behind the team.

Sam, up until now, has had probably one of the most squeaky clean images in sport. Generally in Australia it is not uncommon for our sports stars to be caught up in scandals involving drugs:

Contrasting all this, Sam's image as the squeaky clean saviour for sport made it all the more shocking this last week, when it was announced that Kerr was to face trial after having been charged by the UK police of a "racially aggravated offence" involving a taxi driver.

This was shocking news. Nobody knew what to make of it. Sam was a model for young girls everywhere and a national treasure. "This is why we can't have nice things" screamed the nation. It seemed like all hope was lost.

That is, until, yesterday, when the UK police finally revealed the full details of the case, in which Sam Kerr, sporting legend, was arrested for vomiting in a cab, and then telling an intervening police officer that he was a “stupid white bastard”.

Now we probably don't need to point out that in Australia, vomiting in a taxi and then calling a cop a bastard is about as close to a national culture as we have.

You could not have come up with a better headline to make someone a national hero.

Needless to say, Sam in now being hailed down under as the greatest legend that ever lived, and a petition has already been started to have her picture added to the $5 note.

The tide has swung so far that not one, but TWO, state Premiers have spoken out in support of Kerr, and the Prime Minister has even gone on the record describing her as "a delight".

And so ends the racial abuse saga of our greatest sports hero of all time, and the very first reverse milkshake duck to ever exist.

On February 8th, this nonbinary child was violently beaten by three cis girls. The school did not call them an ambulance after the beating was stopped, and they later died in the hospital from head trauma. They have also been deadnamed and misgendered in their obituary and in the news. As the author of the article puts it:

How is that not national news? A 16 year old beaten to death in a public school bathroom? By other students. All these unanswered seemingly obvious questions about what transpired, and how the adults involved acted. That should be every headline. In fact, almost every local outlet covering the story misgender and deadnames Nex, using their same assigned at birth. The indignities pile on. We don’t yet know if Nex’s nonbinary identity is directly tied to this incident. But, my God, it sure matters to me that this would happen to any child. A nonbinary kid assaulted in a girl’s bathroom. That outcome from the narrative of anti-trans rhetoric these past years. Still why wasn’t this story breaking news? It involves a nonbinary student in a public school. And school violence and school police resource officers. It involves the deep fear so many trans youth have shared with me about their schools.
