RSS Chief Mohan Bhargava asks young countrymen to value their identity
On Thursday, during a launch event of a book titled 'Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh' in Nagpur, Maharashtra, Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) chief Mohan Bhagwat addressed the crowd. He spoke about how there is lack of knowledge in the countrymen about RSS’s identity and said that people must proudly acknowledge that they are Hindus. The address was received by the crowd with a loud cheer.
Again and again someone comes and we become slaves due to our mistakes. It needs to be addressed. This disease needs to be treated; otherwise, such things will keep happening. We need to treat some of our basic mistakes, "Bhargava said addressing the event.
Adding to it, Bhargava said that it is important for the country to become united by a thread and become clear about our identity.
"Due to dis-orientation, there is lack of knowledge in our country about who we are and who is ours, about our identity and there is no clarity about it. Due to several years of slavery, there is mental suppression," the RSS chief said.
Hence, we need to organize the entire society with a common sutra which unites us all. We should know our identity clearly and tell the world as well. If we know who we are then we also know who is ours and that our identity is Hindu and we should say with pride that we are Hindus," he added.

Raveena Tandon opens up about pay inequality in Bollywood, “I have to work in 10-15 films to make what my male co-stars made from one.”
Raveena Tandon is celebrating the success of her OTT release Patna Shukla. Recently, during an interview, the popular actress opened up about the pay disparity in Bollywood. Raveena has been a top heroine for almost three decades now but despite her fame and success, she has faced many challenges including pay inequality in Bollywood.
Talking about her experience of working in the 1990s when male stars included Aamir Khan and Salman Khan, Raveena said that the males were paid way higher than the females.
She also said that she had to work for more than 10-15 films to earn an equivalent sum that her male co-stars earned from one movie. This created pressure on female stars to work on multiple projects at one time and also with multiple heroes whereas the male actors enjoyed having choices and work preferences.
"The money wasn't great for actresses in those days. In those days, the money was very, very low, especially the pay disparity between actors and actresses. Male stars got much more. What they would make in one film, I would make in, say, 15 films. I can't speak for everybody, I can't generalize this. I had to do nearly 15–20 films to make as much money as my male counterparts,” the actress said.
“In those days, Aamir and Salman were doing selective films while heroines would be working with many more heroes. But for everybody overall, the money was much less than today's situation,” added Raveena.
In a previous interview, Raveena also told how she rejected a few projects because she did not find the costumes or the dance moves appropriate. “No, I am not going to do this step. No, I am not going to wear this costume.” The star further added, “I have given up so many movies where I was not comfortable with the costumes that I was given to wear. There were so many songs where I said, ‘Sorry, but I don't think that this is appropriate and I have stood by that.' There have been times when I had to sacrifice a couple of movies and stuff for that. But then, so be it. But I had to live my life my way.”

“The United States is not going to get into the middle of this” US spokesperson’s reply to Modi’s “ghar mai ghus ke maarenge”
Reacting to Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Defence Minister Rajnath Singh's recent statements the Joe Biden administration said that the US has always favored not escalating the matters between India and Pakistan. Still, they would refrain from involving in this matter. For the uninitiated, the two Indian leaders claimed that India wouldn't hesitate to kill terrorists in their homes.
US State Department spokesperson Matthew Miller answered a media query regarding PM Modi’s “ghar mai ghus ke maarenge” statement on terrorism and said, “As I have said before, the United States is not going to get into the middle of this. But we do encourage both India and Pakistan to avoid escalation and find a resolution through dialogue.”
Miller was also asked if the statement from Modi and Singh can be seen as “confessions” on the alleged “assassination of (Khalistani separatist Hardeep Singh) Nijjar in Canada, (designated terrorist Gurpatwant Singh) Pannun's murder-for-hire plot in New York, and killings in Pakistan”, he said that the US would refrain from commenting on the matter.
Miller was also questioned about why the US has not imposed any sanctions on India over the alleged plot to assassinate Gurpatwant Singh Pannun. To this Miller said, “I am never going to preview any sanctions actions, which is not to say that there are any coming. But when you ask me to talk about sanctions, it's something that we don't discuss openly.”

Mesentery: New organ discovered inside human body
Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday said that scraping of electoral bonds as per the Supreme Court’s judgement in February is a decision that "everyone will regret when there is honest reflection" and has "completely pushed the country towards black money".
He justified the electoral bond scheme run by his government saying that the scheme was meant to fight the use of 'black money' which is unaccounted cash or funds coming from criminal activities and being used to fund election campaigns and that he had "never claimed this was an absolute way" to achieve that goal.
PM Modi also targeted the opposition for telling lies about the electoral bonds and said that these bonds were just a way to curb black money usage during election campaigns.
There has been a discussion in our country for a long time... that black money allows for dangerous games to be played during elections. That money is spent in elections... no one denies. My party also spends... all parties and all candidates spend, and this money is taken from the people. I wanted to try something... how can our elections be free from this black money? How can there be transparency for people giving donations? This was a pure thought in my mind," the PM said.
We were looking for a way. We found a small way... never claimed this was absolute," he said, building on comments from earlier this month, when he told a Tamil news channel "no system is perfect... shortcomings can be improved".
The remarks made by PM Modi on electoral bonds were a part of a full-fledged interview. He also gave remarks on the opposition INDIA bloc, the contentious 'One Nation, One Election' scheme, and allegations his government uses central investigative agencies, like the Enforcement Directorate, to target rivals before polls.

From Allies to Adversaries: The Tumultuous History of Iran-Israel Relations
The relationship between Iran and Israel has long been a complex and often adversarial one, with the two countries going from allies to bitter enemies over several decades. As tensions continue to simmer between the two nations, it's important to understand the historical context that has shaped this tumultuous relationship.
Before the Iranian Revolution of 1979, Iran and Israel enjoyed relatively close ties. The two countries, both non-Arab states in the Middle East, established diplomatic relations in 1950 and worked together on various political, economic, and military initiatives. This alliance was largely driven by shared concerns over Arab nationalism and the desire to counter Soviet influence in the region.
Under the rule of the Pahlavi dynasty, Iran became one of Israel's closest allies in the Middle East. The two countries collaborated on intelligence sharing, arms deals, and even joint military exercises. This alliance was seen as a strategic asset for both countries, as it allowed them to project power and influence in the region.
However, the 1979 Iranian Revolution, which toppled the Pahlavi monarchy and installed an Islamic theocratic government under Ayatollah Khomeini, marked a dramatic shift in the relationship between the two countries. The new Iranian regime immediately severed ties with Israel, denouncing it as a "Zionist entity" and a threat to the Muslim world.
The hostility between Iran and Israel only intensified in the years following the revolution. Iran began to actively support Hezbollah and other Shia militias in the region, which engaged in a long-running conflict with Israel. This proxy war, coupled with Iran's pursuit of nuclear technology and its vocal opposition to the existence of Israel, has led to a deeply adversarial relationship between the two countries.
Today, the tensions between Iran and Israel remain high, with both sides engaging in a complex game of strategic maneuvering and military posturing. Iran's support for groups like Hezbollah, its development of ballistic missile technology, and its involvement in conflicts across the Middle East have all contributed to the ongoing tensions.
Meanwhile, Israel has responded with a range of measures, including military strikes against Iranian targets in Syria, as well as efforts to rally international support for sanctions and diplomatic pressure against Iran.
As the world watches these two regional powers continue to clash, it's clear that the history of their relationship has played a significant role in shaping the current geopolitical landscape. Understanding the roots of this conflict is crucial for anyone seeking to navigate the complex and volatile dynamics of the Middle East.

India's Democratic Dawn: The Victory of the First General Election
In 1951-1952, something huge happened in India – its first big election. This was a really important moment because it marked the start of democracy in the country. Back then, India had just become independent from British rule, but things were still tough. There were lots of problems, like not having enough food and jobs for everyone.
But despite all this, India decided to have an election to let its people choose their leaders. This was a massive job because India had a lot of people – more than 360 million! And there were many different languages and cultures across the country. Plus, not everyone could read or write, which made things even harder.
But the people in charge of the election, led by a man named Sukumar Sen, didn't give up. They came up with clever ways to help everyone vote, like using pictures on the ballot papers so even those who couldn't read could still choose who they wanted.
The election took a long time – several months! They split it into different parts so that everyone could have a chance to vote. It was a lot of work, but many people helped out, including volunteers and police officers who made sure everything was fair and safe.
When the big day finally arrived, over 60% of people turned up to vote – which was amazing! And when the votes were counted, a party called the Indian National Congress, led by a man named Jawaharlal Nehru, won by a lot. This meant they would run the country and most of the states.
This election showed that even though India had just become independent and had many challenges, it could still have a fair and peaceful election. It proved that democracy – where people get to choose their leaders – was something that mattered a lot to the people of India, no matter who they were or where they came from.
Now, many years later, India still has elections regularly. The first big vote in 1951-1952 was a really important moment in India's history. It showed that even in tough times, people can come together and make big things happen. And it reminded everyone that voting is a powerful way to shape the future of a country.

Janhvi Kapoor and Shikhar Pahariya Fuel Dating Rumors at 'Maidaan' Screening
Bollywood actress Janhvi Kapoor has set the rumor mills abuzz with her latest public appearance, fueling speculations about her romantic involvement with businessman Shikhar Pahariya.
The occasion was the special screening of Ajay Devgn's much-anticipated film 'Maidaan', where Janhvi was spotted arriving hand-in-hand with Shikhar, leaving onlookers and paparazzi captivated by their seemingly close camaraderie.
While the two have maintained a discreet stance about the nature of their relationship, Janhvi's gesture at the event has now sparked widespread speculation that the two might be more than just friends.
Arriving at the screening, Janhvi and Shikhar were photographed walking together, with the actress keeping close to her rumored beau. The duo's coordinated outfits and frequent exchange of glances only added fuel to the already simmering dating rumors.
Interestingly, this is not the first time the two have been spotted together in public. In the past, Janhvi and Shikhar have been captured at various social gatherings, fueling speculation about a potential romantic involvement.
However, the pair has remained tight-lipped about their relationship status, choosing to keep the details of their personal lives private.
When questioned about the nature of their bond, Janhvi has often deflected the questions, maintaining a diplomatic stance. In a recent interview, she coyly acknowledged the rumors, stating, "Shikhar is a dear friend, and we enjoy each other's company. But I prefer to keep the specifics of our relationship private."
Shikhar Pahariya, on the other hand, has also refrained from addressing the ongoing speculation, further adding to the air of mystery surrounding their connection.
Despite the discreet approach, the latest public appearance at the 'Maidaan' screening has undoubtedly intensified the rumors, with fans and media outlets eagerly awaiting any official confirmation from the two.
The 'Dhadak' actress has been known to guard her personal life fiercely, often shying away from discussing her romantic relationships in public. Her decision to attend the screening with Shikhar by her side has now sparked a flurry of speculations, leaving her admirers curious about the true nature of their bond.
As the entertainment industry and the public eagerly await any updates from the duo, the question remains: Are Janhvi Kapoor and Shikhar Pahariya more than just friends? Only time will tell if the actress decides to finally lift the veil of secrecy surrounding her personal life.

Family Feud in Bengal’s Matua Heartland Sparks BJP-TMC Dispute
In the heart of Bengal’s Matua community, a simmering family dispute over a property has ignited a political firestorm between BJP and TMC. The Matua community, a significant vote bank in West Bengal, holds sway over several constituencies, making any rift within its ranks politically consequential.
The focal point of this feud lies in the village of Thakurnagar, a bastion of the Matua community and a crucial political battleground. At the center of the controversy is a modest house, owned by a family with ties to both the BJP and the TMC. The dispute began when one faction of the family, aligned with the BJP, laid claim to the property, leading to resistance from the faction associated with the ruling TMC.
What started as a familial disagreement quickly spilled over into the political arena. Both the BJP and the TMC saw an opportunity to leverage the situation to their advantage in the run-up to the elections. For the BJP, the dispute represents a chance to consolidate its support among the Matua community, a key constituency that played a pivotal role in the party’s electoral gains in the state.
Conversely, the TMC views the rift as a threat to its dominance in the Matua heartland. With the BJP making significant inroads in the region in recent years, the ruling party is keen to prevent any erosion of its support base. By rallying behind the faction aligned with the TMC, the party aims to send a message of solidarity to the Matua community while also undermining the BJP’s influence in the area.
The dispute has led to a war of words between the two political rivals, with both sides accusing the other of instigating the conflict for electoral gains. BJP leaders have accused the TMC of resorting to intimidation tactics to suppress dissent within the Matua community, while the TMC has accused the BJP of exploiting the situation for political mileage.
Meanwhile, members of the Matua community find themselves caught in the crossfire, torn between loyalties to their family and their political affiliations. With emotions running high and tensions escalating, there are concerns that the dispute could escalate further, potentially leading to violence and further polarizing the already volatile political landscape of West Bengal.
As the state gears up for crucial elections, the outcome of this family feud could have far-reaching implications for both the BJP and the TMC. Whichever party manages to sway the allegiance of the Matua community stands to gain a significant advantage in the electoral battle ahead. However, amidst the political maneuvering, it is the ordinary members of the Matua community who bear the brunt of the consequences, as their once-close-knit village becomes embroiled in a bitter political feud.

In BJP Stronghold of Uttar Pradesh, Voters Voice Concern: 'Absence of Opposition Not Healthy'
In the heartland of Uttar Pradesh, a bastion long dominated by the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), the absence of a formidable opposition presence is raising eyebrows among voters. While the BJP continues to command a formidable position in the state, voters in various constituencies are expressing concerns over the lack of a robust opposition, highlighting the importance of a vibrant democracy.
In conversations with residents across several districts of Uttar Pradesh, a prevailing sentiment emerges - while there may not be much love lost for the opposition parties, the absence of a vocal counterbalance to the ruling party is seen as detrimental to the democratic process.
One resident of Lucknow, speaking on condition of anonymity, expressed the sentiment shared by many: "We may support the BJP, but we recognize the importance of a strong opposition. It keeps the government in check and ensures accountability. The absence of a visible opposition is not healthy for our democracy."
This sentiment is echoed in other parts of the state as well. In Kanpur, a traditionally BJP stronghold, voters acknowledge the dominance of the ruling party but voice concerns about the lack of alternative voices. "Even if we don't always agree with the opposition, their presence ensures that our concerns are heard and debated. Without them, there's a risk of complacency setting in," remarked a local resident.
Political analysts also weigh in on the significance of a robust opposition in a democracy. Dr. Rajesh Singh, a political scientist based in Varanasi, observes, "While the BJP's dominance in Uttar Pradesh is undeniable, a healthy democracy thrives on dissent and debate. Without a strong opposition to challenge government policies and hold them accountable, there's a risk of democratic erosion."
The absence of a formidable opposition in Uttar Pradesh has been attributed to various factors, including internal strife within opposition parties, lack of organizational strength, and the overwhelming dominance of the BJP in the political landscape. However, voters emphasize that regardless of the reasons, the need for a vibrant opposition cannot be overstated.
In response to these concerns, leaders within opposition parties have pledged to reinvigorate their presence in the state. "We understand the importance of a strong opposition in a democracy, and we are committed to addressing the concerns of the people of Uttar Pradesh," stated a spokesperson for a prominent opposition party.
As the political landscape continues to evolve in Uttar Pradesh, the voices of voters advocating for a robust opposition serve as a reminder of the essential role opposition parties play in safeguarding the principles of democracy. Despite differing political affiliations, there is a consensus among many residents that a healthy democracy requires a balance of power, with a strong opposition serving as a crucial check on government authority.

PM Modi is sleeping after taking sleeping pills, accuses Kharge during election rally
On Thursday, Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge set an attack on Prime Minister Narendra Modi and referred to him as ‘sardars of liars’. He also accused the PM of "sleeping" after taking opium while China "entered" Indian territory.
Kharge stated while addressing an election rally in Chittorgarh, Rajasthan. He also stated that it is Modi’s old habit to abuse Gandhi's family and ignoring the sacrifice done by them.
"Modi says 'I have a 56-inch chest, I will not be scared'. If you are not afraid then why have you left a large part of our land for China? They are coming inside and you are sleeping. Have you taken sleeping pills? Have they taken opium from the fields of Rajasthan... and fed you?" he said in Hindi. "Modi kehate hain 56 inch ki chhati hai, main nahi darunga. Agar nahi darte to fir China ko hamare bahut saa bhag kyo chhode? Wo andar ghus kar aa rahe, aap kya neend kar rahe ho? Kya neend ki goli khaaye ho? Kya Rajasthan ke kheton me se afeem le jaake'... ya wo khilaye hai kya?"
Alleging that the PM is busy abusing the Gandhi family, Kharge said, "He wants to take the people of the country with him by torturing them. He always keeps lying," Kharge said. "Modi is 'sardar of liars'."
The election rally was organised to support Congress candidate, Udai Lal Anjana. "The members of the Gandhi family sacrificed their lives for the country," Kharge said.

“Our devotion was questioned when an outsider was given a ticket” LJP leader Renu Kushwaha after resigning from the party
The Lok Janshakti Party saw an upside-down day on Wednesday when 22 of its party leaders submitted their resignations one after another. They also expressed anger about not getting tickets for Lok Sabha Elections 2024.
These 22 party leaders also included several notable figures such as former minister Renu Kushwaha, former MLA and national general secretary of LJP, Satish Kumar, state organization minister Ravindra Singh, Ajay Kushwaha, Sanjay Singh, and State General Secretary Rajesh Dangi.
It was said that the resignation wave was not to end quickly and resulted from the distribution of tickets against money.
"Tickets should be given to the party workers instead of people from outside. Tickets were given to the outsiders which means that able people are not there in your party. Are we the labor class people in your party who will work for you, and make you a leader? Our devotion was questioned when an outsider was given a ticket. We are not here to serve as laborers for the party." Said Renu Kushwaha while resigning from the party.
Former MLA and national general secretary of LJP Satish Kumar angered over the disparity in the party said that all the leaders submitting their resignations will now support the INDIA Bloc. "When such important elections are in the country, the LJP Supremo has given tickets to such people that the party workers are stunned. The people who used to raise slogans 'Hail Chirag Paswan', day and night and hoped for a 'new Bihar' have been betrayed, and their aspirations were crushed. Now, to save the country, INDI alliance has to be supported. Now we will support the INDI alliance.”

Congress Leader Shashi Tharoor Talks About PM Modi's Replacement
In a recent interview, Congress leader Shashi Tharoor was asked who could replace Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Instead of giving a direct answer, he talked about what qualities a leader should have. He said a good leader should be fair, capable, and have a clear plan for the country's future. Tharoor didn't name anyone specific, but his words made people think about what's important in a leader.
Tharoor's comments are important because they come at a time when the Congress party is trying to become stronger. They want to be a strong opposition to the ruling BJP party. Tharoor's words show that the Congress party needs to think about what kind of leader they want and what they stand for.
Tharoor's ideas are not just for the Congress party. They're also important for all political parties in India. As India faces many challenges, leaders need to focus on what's best for the country. Tharoor's message is about looking at bigger issues and not just individual people.
Tharoor's words are a reminder that Indian politics should be about ideas and not just about personalities. He wants people to think about what's important for the country's future. While the search for PM Modi's replacement goes on, Tharoor's ideas make us think about what kind of leadership India needs in the long run.
In conclusion, Shashi Tharoor's comments have sparked a broader conversation about leadership in Indian politics. His emphasis on qualities rather than individuals highlights the importance of substance over symbolism. As political parties strive to address the country's challenges, Tharoor's ideas serve as a valuable guide for shaping a brighter future for India.

Arunachal Pradesh is, has been, and will always be an integral and inalienable part of India, MEA on China’s new name list for Arunachal Pradesh
On Tuesday, India came hard on China with its response to China renaming places in Arunachal Pradesh. India claimed that China is making ‘senseless attempts.’
In a reaffirming statement, the Ministry of External Affairs said that Arunachal Pradesh is an integral part of India and that China’s efforts will not change that fact.
"China has persisted with its senseless attempts to rename places in the Indian state of Arunachal Pradesh. We firmly reject such attempts. Assigning invented names will not alter the reality that Arunachal Pradesh is, has been, and will always be an integral and inalienable part of India,” read the official statement from MEA.
On Monday, China released a list of 30 new names for different places in Arunachal Pradesh. This is the fourth list in the row despite India strongly opposing such attempts from China in the past. The list is set to come into effect from May 1 and is being done following the rules mentioned in Article 13 that "place names in foreign languages that may harm China's territorial claims and sovereignty rights shall not be directly quoted or translated without authorization.”
external affairs minister Jaishankar stated on behalf of MEA that Arunachal Pradesh remains an integral part of India.
“If I change the name of your house, will it become mine? Arunachal Pradesh was an Indian state, is an Indian state and will remain so in the future. Nothing will be gained by changing names,” the minister said.

PM Modi kickstarts his Lok Sabha election Campaign from Meerut city
Bhartiya Janta Party’s Lok Sabha Election Campaign was kickstarted by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday from Meerut city in Uttar Pradesh. For the 2014 and 2019 elections, PM Modi chose Meerut only to be the first city to start his election campaign.
PM Modi asserted that the upcoming elections aren’t targeted at choosing the next Prime Minister of India but a beginning of making ‘Viksit Bharat’. "Our government is getting ready for its third term,” he said.
“We are creating a roadmap for the next five years. We are working on the big decisions we need to make in the first 100 days of our next term. The momentum of development created in the last 10 years, will move ahead with more speed,” he added.
Attacking the Congress government for its ‘anti-national acts’ he also referred to Katchatheevu island in Tamil Nadu, off the coast of India. "This island is extremely important from the perspective of national security. When the country became independent, we had this island, and it was an integral part of India but 4-5 decades ago, Congress said that this Island was of no use and cut off a part of Maa Bharti and separated it from India."
Addressing the gathering in Meerut, PM Modi said, “I have a special relationship with Meerut. I had started my election campaign for the 2014 and 2019 (Lok Sabha) polls from Meerut only. And now, the first rally for the 2024 elections is also being organised in Meerut. The 2024 Lok Sabha elections is not an election to elect the government, but to make a 'Viksit Bharat.'

“I do not have that kind of money to contest…” FM Sitharaman on contesting Lok Sabha elections
In the latest revelation, Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman said that she had to decline the BJP’s offer to contest Lok Sabha elections as she does not have the required funds for the campaign.
She also revealed that BJP President JP Nadda offered her an option to contest either from Andhra Pradesh or Tamil Nadu.
FM Sitharaman was attending the TIMES NOW Summit 2024 when she said, "After thinking for a week or ten days, I went back to say, 'Maybe not'. I do not have that kind of money to contest. I also have a problem whether it is Andhra Pradesh or Tamil Nadu. It's also going to be a question of various other winnability criteria that they use... Are you from this community or are you from that religion? Are you from this? I said no, I do not think I am going to able to do it."
"I am very grateful they accepted my argument... So I am not contesting," she added.
She was asked why the Finance Minister of India does not have enough funds to fight the elections, she said that the consolidated funds of India do not belong to her.
"My salary, my earnings, and my savings are mine and not the Consolidated Fund of India," she said.
For the upcoming Lok Sabha elections, the BJP has fielded many of its Rajya Sabha members. The Lok Sabha elections are due on April 19. The Rajya Sabha members who would be contesting in the Lok Sabha elections this time include Piyush Goyal, Bhupender Yadav, Rajiv Chandrasekhar, Mansukh Mandaviya, and Jyotiraditya Scindia.
The FM said that she would support the campaigning for other members.
"I will attend a lot of media events and go with the candidates - like tomorrow I will be going for Rajiv Chandrasekhar's campaign. I'll be on the campaign trail," she added.

“Kashmiris are free today….” Amit Shah talks about abrogating Article 370
On Tuesday, Union Minister Amit Shah gave a strong statement reiterating that Pakistan Occupied Kashmir is an Indian territory and all Hindus and Muslims living there are also Indians.
While answering a media query during a press conference Mr. Shah said, “The BJP and the entire Parliament believe that POK believes the POK is an integral part of India. The Muslims and the Hindus living in POK are also Indians and the land also belongs to India which has been illegally occupied by Pakistan. It is the goal of every Indian, every Kashmiri to get it back.”
He also said that the people of Kashmir Valley hold the wrong interpretation of Article 370 which now stands nullified after its abrogation.
“It was always said that once Article 370 is abrogated, the culture, language, and existence of Kashmiriyat will be threatened. It is now five years after the abrogation but nothing such has happened. Kashmiris are free today, the importance of the Kashmiri language, and food culture have enhanced and tourists are flocking to the tourist spots of Kashmir,” the minister said.
Mr. Shah also talked about different myths that revolve around Article 370. He said, “It was also said that lakhs of people would move to Kashmir threatening the very existence of Kashmiriyat that myth too stands busted today.”
“Under the shadows of Article 370, a separatist ideology was shaped and the youths of Jammu and Kashmir were dragged into terrorism. Pakistan misused this situation and in the last 4 decades, more than 40,000 youths lost their lives,” Shah said.
“But today Jammu and Kashmir is heading on the path of progress. Terrorism is seeing its fag end, stone-pelting has completely stopped. An anti-corruption bureau has been formed to stop corruption and people’s money is reaching the people,” the Union minister added.

BJP's Solo Run: Lok Sabha Election 2024 Dynamics in Punjab
In a significant development ahead of the 2024 Lok Sabha elections, the Bharatiya Janata Party has announced its decision to contest the polls in Punjab without forming an alliance with the Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD). This decision marks a significant shift in the political landscape of Punjab, traditionally characterized by the alliance between the BJP and SAD. The announcement came after a meeting between senior BJP leaders and party members in Punjab, where it was decided that the BJP would field its candidates independently in the upcoming elections.
The decision to contest alone in Punjab reflects the BJP's strategic reevaluation of its electoral alliances and priorities in the state. While the BJP has been a long-standing ally of the SAD in Punjab, recent political developments and changing dynamics have prompted the party to reassess its electoral strategy. By opting to contest alone, the BJP aims to assert its independent political identity in the state and strengthen its electoral prospects by directly engaging with voters on its own terms.
The BJP's decision to go solo in Punjab has sparked speculation about the potential implications for the state's political landscape and the broader dynamics of national politics. Punjab has traditionally been a stronghold of regional parties such as the SAD and the Indian National Congress (INC), with the BJP playing a supporting role in alliance politics. However, with the BJP now charting its independent course, the electoral equations in Punjab are likely to witness a significant realignment.
The decision also underscores the BJP's confidence in its organizational strength and electoral appeal in Punjab. By contesting alone, the party aims to capitalize on its grassroots network, organizational structure, and popular support base to maximize its electoral gains in the state. This move reflects the BJP's determination to expand its political footprint beyond traditional strongholds and emerge as a formidable force in Punjab's political landscape.
