Summary — Preferences for Monkey D. Luffy, Nami, Roronoa Zoro, Usopp, and Vinsmoke Sanji from One Piece!

monkey d. luffy

luffy is all touch. his hands are big and warm as he presses you into his side. with one on his hip, the other slips beneath your shirt and runs over your lower back. it’s subconscious, the way it splays over your skin, his fingers tracing up and down your spine. he doesn’t even notice the small smile on your face since he’s too busy talking to zoro and sanji. he’s especially soft when it’s late at night. he comes into his room to find you already half-sleep, tangled up in his sheets. he crawls in next you and finds himself tucking his dark curls beneath your chin. he traces your collarbone, muttering sweet nothings and occasionally tilting his head in order to plant open-mouthed kisses against your exposed neck. he nuzzles into you, sighing softly at the feeling of your warm skin against his. he can’t help wanting to be as close to you as possible.

nami

she wants nothing more than words of affirmation. after a life of being held captive by arlong’s crew without an ounce of love, she needs lots of reassurance that you care for her. she especially loves it when you wrap your arms around her from behind as the two of you overlook the bobbing waves. swaying from side to side, you mutter an endless stream of compliments, adorations, and praises. nami tightly grips your hands, which are resting upon her stomach, and closes her eyes in response, content to listen to your voice forever.

roronoa zoro

zoro is incredibly reserved, so he’s all about acts of service. he’ll bring you a plate when it’s time for dinner or make sure your laundry is folded and tucked away before you can worry about it. if it’s your turn to keep watch, he’ll take your place, forcing you to get a good night’s sleep instead. he thinks of nothing of it. each of these little tasks, along with the others he’s constantly doing for you, have merely become another part of his routine. if you decide to be with zoro for the long haul, expect to be taken care of.

usopp

he loves quality time. while the others are busy gathering supplies during a quick stop at a nearby harbor, you and usopp have a tendency to slip away. you’ll spend the day together, exploring every part of the new island. the two of you only return to the ship once night has fallen, narrowly avoiding a proper scolding from nami and zoro for always disappearing. usopp’s favorite moments with you, however, always happen the quiet privacy of your shared room. away from prying eyes, you’re both tucked beneath a blanket, sharing secrets and muffled laughs as you reminisce about your adventures.

vinsmoke sanji

sanji’s prides himself on being a giver. he may be a total flirt, but he’s truly a soft-hearted fool for you deep down. if you’re in a relationship with sanji, prepare to be spoiled. if you see a piece of clothing you like, it’s in your room later that night. he’s constantly bringing you the native flowers of whatever island the crew decided to visit. and don’t even get him started when it comes to your birthday! his favorite thing to give you, however, is food, being the talented chef that he is. after a while, you may gain a bit of weight from all the delicious meals he provides and there’s no hiding the smile that grows on his face whenever you tell him. after all, how could he not be happy about that? he has more of you to love!

Nami

warnings: just fluff !

Affection

In public, Nami isn't too keen on showing affection. It's not like she completely ignores you, but she more so sticks to looks of affection and longing instead of clinging to your side. In private, Nami is much more physically affectionate. She likes cuddling, being the bigger spoon, and playing with your hair. Whenever she is the little spoon, after much resistance, you can feel her shoulders relax as she settles her head on your chest.

Best friend

I think if you were with Nami your best friend in the crew would be Luffy. The entire crew loved you, but you and Luffy found a childish solace in each other. You were constantly pulling pranks, keeping silly little inside jokes, off to the side giggling.

Cuddles

Like I said before, I think Nami would really love cuddling you, but in the comfort of your private space. It her time to ground herself, running her fingers delicately over your arms and shoulders as she holds you close. Your breathing syncs up, a lazy smile on her face as she soaks you in.

Domestic

The idea of domesticity is completely foreign to Nami, but that doesn't mean she isn't curious about it. The domestic life she experienced had been short lived, but she knew what it was to be loved, and she knew that's what she wanted with you for as long as you'd have her. She'd see a future with you, settling down, a simple life, even if it took a little dirty work to get there.

Ending (if they had to break up, how would they do it)

If the two of you had to break up, Nami would def be the one to break it off. She couldn't except any other way, so she would save both of your breath and make things short. Her seeming indifference to breaking off your relationship is a front, of course, because separating from you would break her inside.

Fiancée (how do they feel about marriage)

Like I said with Domesticity, I think Nami would want something like marriage, even if she has no idea how it's supposed to work. The first time someone jokes about how the two of you fight like an old married couple, Nami freezes, but later that night, she casually asks you if you'd ever thought about getting married. I think she would see a nice ring at one of the many markets the crew came across in their travels, and she buys it, slipping it onto your finger in the private of your room on the boat.

Gentle

I think Nami is a very gentle lover, albeit a bit of an awkward one at first. She can be standoffish and aggressive to others, but never to you, although in the beginning of your relationship she didn't quite know how to show her affection. Still, gentle touches and private words of affirmation were her specialty.

Hugs

Nami's hugs are the best. Your senses are flooded with her when she draws you into her arms, inhaling deeply at her scent, her hair softly ticking your cheek, her arms tight and warm around your middle. She likes hugging because when your chests meet, she can feel your heartbeat against hers, and it brings her a sense of calm.

I love you

Most likely, you'd say "I love you" before Nami. That doesn't mean she doesn't love you already but saying it out loud is different than keeping her feelings inside, which she's used to. When you say, "I love you", Nami will freeze, but I think she would quietly tell you she loves you back. After the first time, she says it as much as she can, because she always thinks that she never knows if it'll be the last thing she says to you, and she never wants you to doubt or forget how she feels about you.

Jealousy

Nami trusts you, so she is never jealous, but she doesn't trust other people, so she is definitely watchful when the two of you are out late at night, most likely at a bar, the other members of the crew too drunk to even register that a drunken patron was flirting with you. Nami will let you speak for yourself, but if you were too drunk or too tired to put up a fight, she will swiftly turn down anyone who comes your way, and she certainly isn't afraid to pull her staff out and kick anyone's ass that is bothering you.

Kisses

Like all other forms of affection, Nami likes to keep things private. She kisses softly and tenderly, unlike the rest of her character. She also touches you softly, her hands snaking around your waist to draw you close as her lips dance against yours. She'd never admit it out loud, but you knew from the blush that would cover her face that she was particularly fond of kisses to her cheek and forehead, quick ones you'd leave when no-one was looking.

Little ones (kids)

Nami wouldn't even know where to start with a child, but she would know to love one if the two of you had one. She would reminisce on her own mother, how she had cared for her and her sister no matter what situation they had been in. I don't think either of you would have a formal parenting conversation, but you could see the misty look in Nami's eyes whenever the two of you walked by a child with their mother, a small smile on her face whereas before she met you, she would frown, pained by her history.

Morning

Nami is definately an early riser, and she will silently slip out from your slumbering embrace to go about her morning routine. She's usually back by the time you're waking up, gently nuzzling her nose against your cheek as she whispers good morning praises in your ear. She'll chat beside you as you catch up with your morning, just lingering around you simply to be close to you.

Night

You and Nami go to bed together, so your nighttime routines are essentially synced up. Washing up the best the two of you can (i have no idea how they bathe on boats but in my head the entire crew is nice and clean moving on), changing into your nightclothes, before you finally crawl up in bed beside her, her arms wrapping around you on instinct. She'll always spend a few minutes talking to you, recapping the day before yawning, pressing a gentle kiss to your temple, and whispering a goodnight before the both of you drift to sleep.

Open (how revealing, comfortable, open are they)

Nami is very closed off when you meet her, but she opens up to you quicker than she ever has with anyone else. It doesn't even take her getting drunk, like she usually does, instead she just feels like you're a safe person to confide in. You make it very clear very quickly that you would never judge her, and after you take the initiative and share some of your past with her, she shares herself with you. She has her moments of doubt, worried she might still be the same person she used to be, but the way you listen and sympathize with her as she confides in you reassures her that she's changed.

Patience

Being with the Strawhats, Nami has learned a lot about patience. I don't think she would necessarily feel like she needs to be patient with you on the regular, unlike with Luffy or Usopp. The only time she really has to practice patience with you is if the two of you are arguing, because Nami knows that she's used to just running away from confrontation, which she doesn't want to do with you. She also has a lot of patience for you whenever you get into a slum, or dark mood. It's like she can read your mind, the way she seems to know whether you need space or to be held, or if she just needs to be an ear for you to rant to.

Quiet time (what is quiet time like with them/free time)

In her quiet time, Nami likes to haul you to the Crow's nest. She likes to sit and look at the sea, her mind swirling with the maps she's made over the years. She'll have you snuggled to her side, the both of you taking turns watching the waves while the other one reads aloud from one of the many books she likes to pick up on the islands. Sometimes the two of you will lug up a small knapsack with snacks, having a picnic up there.

Remember (fav memory about the relationship)

Her favorite memory from your relationship actual came from slightly before the two of you made things official. This was when the crew landed on a small island, seemingly deserted, and had a bit of a beach day there. It was one of her favorite memories overall, but on that day, after spending the hot afternoon on the sand and in the water, the two of you had set out for a private walk a little further down the beach. You had tugged Nami aside, telling her you wanted to find a seashell or other small reminder that you had visited the island. She had helped you find some small shells, two of which were near identical, so of course you had given her the matching one. Before the two of you had reboarded the ship, Nami surprised you by pressing a small kiss to your cheek. It was new territory, making the both of you blush before going off to your respective rooms. That night, she had come to terms with her feelings for you, and from that moment on she felt comfortable being affectionate with you.

Security (how protective are they)

(I kind of talked about this is Jealous but) Nami is extremely protective of you, in her own ways. She is protective of the whole crew, that was her family, and she loved them as fiercely as such, but the protectiveness she reserved for you was different. She always had her eye on you, making sure she could step in if you needed her too. In the earliest stages of your relationship, she had been a bit more aggressively protective, but she learned how to cool herself down for you.

Try (how much effort do they put in)

Nami puts a lot of effort into your relationship, in her own way. She likes her privacy, so all of her affection is shared in the quiet of your room. She will buy you little trinkets in the cities that you and the Strawhats pass through, sheepishly presenting it as you sit in the small window seat in her room, her blush illuminated by the moonlight. She is the kind to give you pointed looks, ones where you're reminded that she loves you, adores you, and all the other things she had listed as feelings she had for you.

Ugly (how do they react to your insecurities? What about their insecurities?)

I think that Nami has plenty of her own insecurities, so she understands that you'll naturally have them too. Of course, Nami thinks the world of you, but she knows that doesn't change how you feel, and her understanding is something that brings you so much comfort. She lets you vent, she listens with a frown as you list off everything you think is wrong with yourself, before she holds you close and gently assures you of your value.

The thing Nami would be the most insecure about would be her image How she comes off to others has never been something she cared about before, but with you, she wants to be perfect. The wall she's put up after years of burying her insecurities takes a while to come down, but eventually she realizes that you'd never judge her, and that she was good enough for you.

Vanity (how groomed/consumed with their looks are they)

Nami isn't vain, but that doesn't mean she doesn't take care of herself! She tries her hardest to make sure she can bath as much as she can, she dresses comfortably but never drab, and she takes special care of her teeth, because one time you noted how beautiful her smile was. All that aside, she also likes when she can dress up nice, though those occasions were rare.

Whole (do they feel incomplete without you?)

I think after Nami realizes she is truly and deeply in love with you, she does feel incomplete without you. The two of you are hard to separate, but on the rare occasion that the two of you are apart, she is anxious until the moment she lays eyes on you again. She always hugs you a little longer and tighter than normal when she hasn't seen you for a while.

Xtra (random headcanon)

Nami likes to mess with your hair while she rants. She will stand behind you and complain feverently, mostly over the male members of the crew, all while brushing and braiding your hair intricately, just to let it fall loose and start over again as long as she needs to.

Yuck (what are some things they wouldn’t like, in a partner or just in general?)

Nami has a short temper, so I think that little pet peeves such as messy eating or smacking your lips would piss her off. She would try her hardest to come to you sweetly and gently, but if the problem persists, she will just silently correct you.

Zzzz (sleeping habits)

Nami is a light sleeper, but she can fall asleep right away. She always insists on being the bigger spoon, and after she falls asleep with you cuddled up to her for the first time, she decides that she can't sleep any other way. Even if she just wants to take a nap, she'll flash you her begging eyes before dragging you into her bed, her fingers ghosting over your back as she drifts to sleep.

This is a really small detail but it drives me crazy because it means Nami went back to the ship after Arlong announced he was looking for Luffy and immediately told Sanji about it before she even got around to calling the others. Which may not be that big of a deal as Sanji was probably just the first one she saw, but knowing Sanji he would've noticed her distress and asked her what was wrong, hence why he looks so concerned about her in this shot. It's subtle but showing that Sanji really does care about Nami (despite knowing her for all of two days) is so important for their relationship and makes me want to scream.

Consumed by the thoughts of namivi and zolu again (vivi and zoro specifically)

Thinking about them begging with both hands, knees, and head on the ground for the sake of someone else...

Idk but vivi's literally a princess, but the way she's willing to beg for nami's life is something that really touches my heart??

She was injured at that time (one of the citizens shot her and well... she was kinda bleeding), but getting hurt will not stop vivi from prioritizing nami, and im not okay??

She even called luffy out for his recklessness, how as a captain luffy must prioritize nami's life first, and how fighting recklessly can't always solve everything.

Honestly, she just wanted nami to get better soon:')

(In zoro's case the 'begging for the sake of someone else' part is more indirect(?), but we all know at that time he wouldn't have begged if it wasnt for luffy's sake, so...)

Zoro... what should i even do with this guy? I don't think i can separate 'pride', 'ambition', or 'dream' with roronoa zoro.. but after the whole marineford situation, he threw away his pride and he begged his 'rival' to teach him.. even after mihawk told him that he was disappointed in zoro and he questioned his shame/honor, and how it was painful to watch zoro beg like that... but in the end, mihawk accepted his request and even figured out the reason behind zoro's peculiar request.

"It would seem that you have found a greater cause than your ambition"

"Men like you will only ever choose to abandon their pride when it is for the sake of another"

Yeah luffy is now more important than his ambition, becoming stronger for luffy is far more important than his pride, wbk, why am I still losing my mind over this??

I'm turning that Sanuso Modern AU (In which they meet because Zoro forgets to pay at the Baratie and Usopp and Waiter!Sanji end up flirting all night while they wait for him to come back with the money) into a whole fic called "The very first night" that will approximately have 9 chapters and it's actually about Sanji going on a quest trying to find Usopp again and failing miserably. What it’s like to date Monkey D. Luffy <3

Warnings: Fluff, smut, adult content, romance, details of dating someone, affection, blah blah

Summary: How dating adult Luffy would be, how he treats his partner, what he does for them.

✎ Food. This man loves his food so you two will be eating lots of meals and snacks together. But it would be great if you never finish your meals because he would never decline finishing it for you, smiling as he licks lips and thanks you. + If you like cooking!

✎Luffy would put his hat on you all the time, when he's bored, when you're sad or angry. He feels that his hat is going to be safe with you which he is right about. You always love peaking at him with his straw hat on your head, making him giggle at how cute you look.

✎You better be prepared to listen to him rant to you about the great red haired pirate Shanks. That pirate is his idol and everything so you better grow to love his father figure just as much as he does.

✎Luffy would do anything to protect you and the straw hats, forcing his bodies to withstand any environment, fighting any enemy he has too just to see you all alive and healthy

✎If you ever get sick or injured, he would blame himself as the captain and be confused with it all needing the others to explain what's happening to him, wanting to do anything for you to get better

✎Would treasure you laying on his stomach, chest, shoulder anywhere he can keep you close.

✎Oddly gets aroused when you run your fingers along his skin, especially on his chest where he has his scar and under his eye with his little scar then.

✎Being honest this guy would lick food off of your mouth if you left it there when eating. Especially whip cream and chocolate because he wanted to "Test" if your food tasted any different

✎He would kiss you any chance he gets, lips, cheeks, forehead, neck, arm, stomach, anywhere. He's just obsessed with being close to you.

✎The only arguments with him would be you telling him to not do something so crazy and dangerous, even though it always ends up with his flashing his iconic smile and running off to do it anyway.

✎Now hear him out when he suggests you wear a summer outfit like him. So you can either wear a red summer dress to match his shirt, flip flops to match his or shorts and a summer shirt like him, He would find it so cool and want to show you both off to Zoro.

✎Monkey D. Garp would lowkey love you being with his grandson, seeing how much you make him smile and see his wife and him in you two, feeling soft inside his tough exterior.

✎More private time with Luffy would be very playful and sloppy, probably filled with random chuckles and smiles. Most likely in his room on the ship or up high on the ship where the crew wouldn't notice you both.

I know I know this is a tired comparison but I was rewatching Skypiea and recognized this pose so I pulled up the pose from fishman island …

I miss her pretimeskip design so much. I’ve grown to enjoy her post timeskip design but I can’t deny I miss her short hair and fun t-shirt’s. Her body had cartoony proportions but in a way that was cute and more of a fun style choice rather than exaggerated fan service. Also I noticed some little differences- like how even her pants were more practical with a higher waist

Idk. Just a ramble about how I miss her old style. Her short hairstyle I miss dearly .. especially since she often put it in cute ponytails and pigtails it was just a lot more unique

🍖Luffy: So bored during the ceremony and won’t stop FIDGETING. Flicks a booger or smthg at the minister just for funsies. Spends half the reception running around eating the leftovers from other guests’ plates. Has to be physically restrained from eating the entire wedding cake.

⚔️Zoro: Falls asleep during the ceremony. Gets lost on his way to the buffet???? Caves when the flower girl gives him puppy eyes and dances with her on his feet for a song. It’s so wholesome Nami almost feels guilty recording it for blackmail.

🍊Nami: Looks better than the bride and knows it. Spends half the time trying to beat everyone into submission because can’t you behave for once in your god damn lives?????????

🤥Usopp: His home is the dance floor. Won’t rest until each crew member has danced to at least one song.

One Piece preferences - Their reaction to you bringing home a puppy (GN!reader)

Luffy -

● “Oh my god is that a puppy???”

● immediately becomes obsessed

● holds the puppy up to his face as they lick his nose

● “who's a good dog? You're a good dog, look how cute you are. Guys the crew has a new mascot!!”

● never let's the puppy out of his sight and could play with them for hours

Nami -

● was never an animal person

● is fine being near the puppy but not really affectionate

● took some time for the puppy to grow on her

● but she really does become attached to them

● you even caught her doing the baby talk to them when she thought no one was around

Sanji -

● starts working on a whole meal plan for them

● spends hours cooking them food to make sure they are well fed and gets all the nutrients they need

● the puppy sits by him the entire time he cooks

● and he “drops” scraps from the meals he cooks for the crew

Zoro -

● at first he's not interested in the puppy at all

● pets to him are no better than wild animals

● that was until the puppy crawled into his lap and fell asleep

● then he fell in love and would put his life on the line for that puppy

● “I've only had *insert puppy name* for a day and a half but if anything happened to them I would kill everyone in this room and then myself”

Usopp -

● first things first, he has to come up with the most epic name for the puppy

● spends a week going through a list of names until he finds the right one

● takes it upon himself to train the puppy so they see him as the captain and teaches the puppy tons of tricks

● plays fetch using his slingshot to launch balls long distances

Shanks -

● is mad because he was planning on surprising you with a puppy first

● carries the puppy around everywhere and treats them like royalty

● gets them acquainted with the crew and the ship so they can go on voyages with you guys

● “and this is where you and I will sleep… oh yeah Y/N will be there too”

Buggy -

● is an unsuspecting dog person

● like he really loves dogs

● “finally! I've wanted to add a dog to the show for years!”

● he's always playing with them and feeding them way too many treats

● makes the crowd cheer extra hard whenever the puppy performs

Mihawk -

● all he says is “you can keep it but I'm not walking it or picking up after it”
