Finally got enough energy to talk about Furina's SQ and while I loved her and the troupe, MC and Paimon were .... Not Great. I talked about this with friends but in Paimon's case especially, the way they interact with Furina feels like people who just don't understand trauma and depression and then engage with someone suffering from both in all the wrong ways.
Talking about how much of a downgrade her house is from the opera house, making fun of how she can't cook, pushing her to act when she's set a very clear boundary and then guilt tripping her after she's stuck to her guns, shaming her for not being able to fight well (Paimon literally talks about how second hand embarrassment is overwhelming and I'm just like ?????), telling her she's "not acting like herself" when she attempts to open up and be vulnerable....it's just really rough. That and the MC asking "is something wrong" when Furina gets sad over Poission ..like bro people died and she couldn't save them and she's tearing herself apart over it. Those people are never coming back and you know it and you have the gall to ask her is something wrong??? Of COURSE there is!!
It just feels especially odd because we literally get to see all of Furina's suffering and Paimon in particular is. SO mean? Like she was more understanding with Wanderer and Ei and THEY'VE tried to kill us multiple times!! I don't get it, and honestly I'm very proud of Furina for refusing to waver. Let her rest!! She's tired and depressed and she needs time to heal; and honestly fuck Paimon for trying to make her feel bad. Furina's worked harder than she EVER will.

super easy self-care tips
There are plenty of self-care articles online, but I wanted to focus on easier and simpler self-care methods for mentally ill people like me with low energy/motivation or who have a hard time managing daily life.
Drink some tea — Tea can not only soothe you, it can hydrate you as well. I personally like teas that help reduce anxiety like chamomile tea, lavender tea, or rose tea.
Cuddle a stuffed animal — Even if you’re an adult, a stuffed animal can be great for your mental well-being. They can help ease loneliness, provide comfort, and heal your inner child.
Chair yoga — Don’t let the idea of yoga scare you, you can do it while sitting! There are many mental health benefits to yoga, such as relieving stress and improving focus. Search “chair yoga” on YouTube for some guided yoga exercises.
Sit in sunlight — You can do this outside or indoors next to a window. A few minutes of basking in sunlight helps boost your mood.
Step on grass — I know “touch grass” is often used as a snarky comeback, but seriously, feeling the grass beneath your feet can release endorphins. If you find this gross or don’t like the sensation, you can try stepping on a soft rug instead.
Pet an animal — Do you own any pets? Running your hands through their fur can lower stress and anxiety, and it also makes for a good grounding exercise.
Use hand sanitizer — It’s easy to neglect hygiene when you’re in a rut. But it’s important to keep our hands clean to reduce the spread of germs. Use some hand sanitizer, they’re less harsh on your hands than soap and water, and they smell nice.
Clean up your inbox — Unsubscribe to any mailing lists you’re not interested in, and delete any old emails you no longer need. Even just five minutes of cleaning up your inbox will take a weight off your shoulders.
Use a rocking chair — If you own a rocking chair, using one can release endorphins that promote relaxation, improve sleep, and boost your mood. They’re also good for stimming.
Doodle — You don’t have to be an artist to doodle. You can doodle anything from stick figures to scribbly lines. Doodling can help reduce stress and regulate emotions, and you might even make something you like!
Take photos — Try to take regular photos of yourself, friends/family, pets, food, surroundings, anything special to you. That way you can stop to appreciate life and have fond memories to look back on.
Aromatherapy — If you own a diffuser, you can use essential oils to promote relaxation and manage anxiety. You can also mix them with lotion or a carrier oil and massage it on your skin for extra relaxation.
Breathing exercises — When your stress or anxiety levels are high, even just one minute of deep and steady breathing can help keep those levels under control.

my anxiety has been ridiculous the last two days for a stupid reason, and i just rewatched the trolley problem episode of the good place and why do its vibes feel just like my anxiety. u are put into incredibly stressful situation. some people are moderately bothered by this, but no where as much as you. someone is telling you its just a simulation, so why are you so upset? you have blood all over your face. also, someone adds, its just a simulation, but the pain is real to give it stakes, btw. you already knew there were stakes. you are a fundamentally bad person.

what if raz has a fifth archetype that's locked up and it's representative of his generational trauma
see, that's kind of a fun concept, but it doesn't really fit with how i see archetypes? the way i interpret them, they're something that you purposefully create to help you out, rather than something that spontaneously forms. i think if you wanted to explore, say, a trauma response in a character, it'd be more likely to be reflected in their mental world, for example.
besides, raz already has an archetype to represent his repressed trauma!

local man discovers he's gotten into the habit of using DBT techniques without actually being taught them because at some point he realised that the things we get the urge to do when we have strong emotions often aren't healthy and that he doesn't like how he feels afterwards so he started noticing when that was happening and going "fuck that shit" and doing the opposite instead
#personal#thoughts#Lucy post#talking to 🍬 about various stuff we do because of our social anxiety and what are probably undiagnosed BPD symptoms#and we realised he's gotten himself into the habit of paying attention to how his emotions affect his judgement#and trying to take a step back when he's experiencing an emotion that he knows gives us the urge to do stuff that's not healthy for us#and he said he felt bad about having those emotions and urges to do unhealthy stuff#at which point I was like ''okay but you're choosing not to act on that and to take a step back and do something healthier instead#which is what actually matters here and is also something that takes a hell of a lot of self-awareness and self-control''#this is shit they teach you in therapy that's difficult specifically because you're going against your brain's instincts for a situation#and we were never taught how to do it so you've just fucking taught yourself to do it instead#without actually knowing it's a specific technique that has a name#I was aware of it but had never actually looked at the instructions properly because when I stumbled across it#it was at a point where being told to go against what my emotions made me want to do felt invalidating and upsetting#I've literally just pieced together that ''oh right that's what that is and how it's supposed to work#and how it's meant to feel when you do it right''#anyway all this is to say that I keep being impressed with the amount of progress 🍬's made on learning healthy coping mechanisms#including things I could never seem to get the hang of when I was fronting more and handling more stuff#and I'm really proud of him and 🦋 and everyone else who's been handling stuff within the system and keeping things running#but also nobody in here seems to realise how much progress they've made with anything until someone else points it out#I just realised I should tag this as#happy posting#because I'm talking about stuff that's going well and where we've actually made a lot of progress

dear me, what a question... i love time travel and time loops a lot, so like, just anything involving that with a nice plotty plot honestly that fully fleshes out the world of the source material... @/blackkatmagic has written some of my most favorite naruto time travel fics, so they obviously would already be amazing at it, so they would write it best (again) uwu
i'd love to be able to do what they did in those fics one day lol
