Listen here "MrBeast is testing something on Dream" anon there is no way in HELL you could convince me that MrBeast is genuinely testing secondary-gender-transition drugs and HASN'T managed to kill someone yet. Sure, he's a famous youtuber but he's also somewhat incompetent and you mean to tell me that he'd use DREAM, a MASSIVE youtuber, for experiments and not some random omega off the street? Update: Just finished my trip to NY Comic Con! I had a absolute great time. 17 people actually recognized who I was and some even asked if they could take a picture with me! Made me all smiley!

I’ll probably show the Lightbulb/other pieces of the costume later. But for now I want to show you this AMAZING Ralsei I ran into. She crocheted it herself AND it was perfect since I had THIS attached to my backpack the entire time.

She was even one of the people who knew who Niko was! Made it extra sweet!

People are pointing out that it appears someone is juicing the views anyway, by promoting the video post as an ad… but without the (required by law) disclosure that it’s an ad. This certainly suggests that it’s being done by ExTwitter itself, rather than MrBeast directly. If it were being done by MrBeast or someone else, then it would say that it was a promoted/advertised slot. The fact that it’s hidden suggests the call is coming from inside the house.

The evidence that it’s an undisclosed ad is pretty strong. People are seeing it show up in their feeds without the time/date of the post, which is something that only happens with ads. Other tweets show that info.

Even stronger proof? If you click on the three dots next to the tweet… it says “Report ad” and “Why this ad?” which, um, is pretty damning.

Cody Johnston notes that he has refused to update his Twitter app in ages, and on the old app, it is properly designated as a “Promoted” tweet, which is how ads were normally disclosed.

Elon is denying that he’s done anything to goose the numbers, but the evidence suggests someone at the company is doing so, whether or not Elon knows about it.

Of course, the evidence still suggests otherwise. Meanwhile, Ryan Broderick was told by an ExTwitter employee that they don’t have to label promoted tweets that have videos because there’s also a pre-roll video and that is disclosed. Of course, that… makes no sense at all. Those are two totally separate things, and not labeling the promoted tweet is a likely FTC violation (and potentially fraudulent in misrepresenting to people how much they might make from videos posted to the platform).

My hot take on the Mr. Beast discourse

So if you aren't aware, lately there's been more discourse going around about Mr. Beast's philanthropic work. More people are starting to criticize it and a lot of people are getting defensive about it.

I don't know a lot about Mr. Beast as a person so I just want to tackle this from a larger perspective. I think people are getting defensive of Mr. Beast without understanding that he's part of a larger systemic failure. We wouldn't need people like Mr. Beast if we didn't live in a failing society that didn't take care of its most vulnerable while letting billionaires and huge companies exploit people.

It's great that Mr. Beast is helping people, but it's like when you read those "feel-good" stories that are actually really depressing once you think about it. Like no, it's actually really not heartwarming that a 9-year-old girl had to organize a huge bake sale to pay for her brother's wheelchair or that a group of employees banded together and donated all of their sick leave to their coworker who has cancer. Those people should be getting taken care of but they're not because we live in a dystopia.

My hot take is that flashy philanthropy like the kind Mr. Beast does can be actively harmful by convincing people that systemic issues (such as poverty, environmental destruction, etc) can be fixed by a couple of charities putting a bandaid on the gaping wound rather than us implementing radical systemic change. An example is the #TeamSeas movement; the ultimate goal was to remove an amount of plastic that gets dumped into the ocean in one day. I'm not shitting on charities or movements like this, they do do important work, but we need systemic change that addresses the root of these issues. Contrary to popular belief, people aren't destined to be poor and we don't need to be fucking up the environment as badly as we are.

Well, it’s about time I share some close ups and tidbits about my OneShot Niko cosplay for NYCC 2023! I’m no professional of course, and there is no doubt this stuff could have been made WAY BETTER. But I thought why not still share em.

The hat and whisker hair was created with paper and glued together with hotglue! I was actually pretty scared they would break during the con, but it’s still sturdy as hell!

The lightbulb is an old marble maze sphere ball covered in yellow duct tape! You can shake it and still hear the marble inside! The little “base” at the bottom of the bulb is made out of a small sauce container ( had to be painted gray ) and a black bottle cap!

And here are the pins my sister helped me make which were on my backpack ( Along side that note! ). Some good ole pancakes, amber, and the sun! The “Niko pain” pin and Mr. Beast Pin are just extras I wanted to show.

Side ramble:

For the people who happen to have saw my full Niko Cosplay ( Over here! and Here! ). Thanks for all the love! I’m glad I did our pancake messiah worthy!

I think other than seeing people’s reactions towards recognizing who I was ( I will never forget the girl who screamed OH MY GOD NIKO ONESHOT WE HAVE TO TAKE A PICTURE!! ) at the convention. My favorite part was just seeing all the people who dressed up.

The amount of lengths some people go in making their costume is just…incredible. It’s also very scary what people are capable of. And then you have people who make a silly mask and do something simple. It’s just as charming! I love it.
