i also love how this show is giving the audience more time to see how badass Mantis actually is, like in the comics. she is actually incredibly powerful, a strong fighter, and can do so many things she’s not even aware of until they happen. i fucking love this for her. this was her time to shine and she took it, ran with it, and tackled fake!steve with it.

i understand why people don't think doggett was in love with scully or had feelings for her, and that people don't want to see it that way.
however...i think he did have feelings for her. but they weren't what mattered. he empathized with her. losing the father of her child, her partner (eventually her son). and he just cared about her, wanted to be there for her. he valued scully as a person, respected her as an agent, doctor & scientist, believed her as partners. he hoped like hell they would find mulder alive but never believed they would.
the same position scully was in with mulder for seven years. playing the skeptic to her believer, never pushing too hard after within/without. practically begging her to protect herself when mulder does come back but accepting her choice, and just being there in case she needs him and giving her space when she doesn't.
and i just think there's something to be said about a man who can handle rejection and not take it out on her or her partner. who embraces the friendship/relationship she offers. who moves on and doesn't harbor resentment. who can still work with her and respects her deeply.
i don't think they were feelings that endured, but i think they were there.

candyman as a horror icon
something interesting i thought about when discussing fandom’s favorite slasher boys with someone. we have michael myers. jason voorhees. freddy krueger. ghostface. leatherface.
but what about candyman? he absolutely qualifies as a slasher boy. why is he never thought of or included?
he’s ambiguous. he’s mysterious. he has a great backstory, like freddy krueger, but it has actual substance. he comes for ANYONE, but is often drawn to specific types of people like Jason. but he doesn’t just come randomly, he has to be summoned by arrogant or ignorant people, so you get that “well you did this to yourself you idiot” vibe. he’s got that calm demeanor, like Michael. but he’s also slightly intriguing, like you can feel softness in him as he speaks, softness that used to be there. now he is just angry, takes his rage and vengeance out on everyone, even if he has a lot in common with them.
jason, michael, ghost face, and leatherface don’t speak at all, freddy speaks a lot, and then there’s candyman. soft-spoken. deliberate. vague. he doesn’t waste a single word or teases and taunts. and he doesn’t hide who he is. he’s that perfect middle ground of all the icons. and when you finally find out what happened to him...wow does he become (slightly) more sympathetic. and his outfit is a BANGER.
i dunno. i feel like we should include him in the “slasher boys” lineup. he is a horror icon and he should get that same love.

Okay this might be a really weird ask so I'm sorry in advance but- what does Sera smell like? Does she smell like feathers because she has wings, like Vincent? (Again hope this isn't weird..)
Not weird at all! Lol a few people have asked before, you're all good.
Birdpeople have notoriously weak noses. Their sense of smell (and taste by proxy) is pretty dull as a result. It's partly how Ser's food is always plain and Vincent smells like a SAW-scented teen who's been tarred and feathered. Sera doesn't particularly care about expensive perfumes like someone (cough Sonia) but she does like floral scents.
She smells like Lavender (Body wash/Shampoo) and baby talc powder. (Powder keeps her wings nice, dry, and itch-free.) When she's not working she uses a rose perfume Nate gave her.

Alternative Storylines
One of the reasons I don’t love the “Mickey came back from Mexico for Ian” storyline (unpopular opinion I know but hear me out) is because of how many more interesting storylines we could’ve got if Mickey had come back in a different way.
For one it would’ve been so interesting to see Ian deal with the fallout from the gay Jesus and prison storyline without Mickey.
Like we know Ian has always thrived when he’s had a purpose and a goal to work towards with first the army, then being an EMT. After prison when he didn’t have either of those, he had Mickey - he found purpose in being a good partner and husband, in getting them out of the south side and earning a living legally. It’s one of the reasons he was so excited about the move to the Westside.
In season 11 after he quits the warehouse job we see how much it affects him to not have that purpose anymore (in his mind) and how low it makes him. Mickey helps pull him out of it and makes him shift his focus to a new job that brings on new opportunities and new goals - moving out, expanding the business etc. and we see him come back to himself and think about the future positively again. If he didn’t have Mickey I don’t think that would’ve happened so easily.
I honestly think that once he left prison the reality of his actions would’ve really hit him hard and we would’ve seen him spiral similarly to the start of season 6 - “This is it for me, Lip.” In his mind he’d be back where he started after working so hard to get to where he had been. He alludes to it when he says “trying to find the strength to look for another soul crushing dead end job.” It would’ve been SO interesting to watch how he deals with that and see how he pulls himself out of it and comes to terms with his life again.
ALSO there would’ve been a cool callback to season 6 with the storyline of Ian moving on with his life while Mickeys is stuck in prison, except it could’ve been Mickey moving on with his life while Ian is stuck in prison. This would’ve been interesting to explore because I think they’d both understand the other’s actions/feelings so much more. I think Ian would’ve had to deal with the guilt & reality of how shit everything was for Mickey while he was in prison and his own role in that. BUT also I think Mickey moving on with his life would allow him understand more why Ian couldn’t have given everything up to go to Mexico with him and also maybe some of Ian’s actions in season 6. And how they deal with those feelings while finding their way back to each other would’ve made for pretty scenes I think.
I also have more thoughts on how this would’ve given Mickey a chance to have his own growth and development without Ian (which also would’ve been SO good to see) and if he were to come back to Chicago on his own terms, there’s a chance we’d have gotten to see the dynamic of a Mickey who got his life together and Ian who’s life is somewhat in shambles. Not that I think it actually would be in shambles, but I think that’s definitely how Ian would view it himself and witnessing that dynamic would’ve been so interesting.
Would it have been happy? Probably not but that doesn’t mean it wouldn’t have been decent TV and character development.
