Anyway Simeon is my favorite guy ever and has been since the beginning I'm completely obsessed with him bc he's literally perfect tell my WHY on gods green earth he's always getting swept under the rug. Why does this man never get any attention and when he does why is he mischaracterized. He's got it all. He's tall and handsome in kind of an ethereal effeminate way, he's sweet and kind but not a pushover, he's one of the most tragic characters in the game, he's the perfect muse for a religious trauma arc, a corruption arc, a "the calm collected one who's always having a good time finally snaps and goes apeshit" arc, I mean come on. Come on. Every time I remember that his main sin is wrath despite him being SO chill and gentle on the outside I want to giggle a little bit. Solomon though. I don't remember how I felt about him at first (other than lots of gender envy) but he wasn't a favorite until I came back to the fandom after being absent for ages. Like damn this man is everything. He's so complicated /pos that I cant even articulate why I love him so much but he's so well written (maybe one of the only ones who are written halfway decently) and SO tragic. The way he's so desperately in love with the mc and is forced to watch them go for literally anyone else but would still do anything for them and ask for nothing but a little bit of loyalty in return is scrumptious. Also the way immortality just kinda fucks you up after a while when you're only human. I've been very tempted to put him in a poly ship with my mc and Simeon bc he deserves it but for now he just has to watch from afar as the man he loves endlessly makes out with his best friend that he also kinda sorta has a little crush on bc making the gays suffer brings me copious amounts of joy. He's also the "always totally calm and collected no matter what but actually has really strong feelings that he works to keep in check" type like Simeon and I love that for him. One of the fics I'm reading has him once become so panicked over the MC's wellbeing that he completely loses his composure. Yelling, trembling, the whole nine yards and it was fucking glorious, I love seeing characters like him break.

Also I have to talk a little about Lucifer. He's not generally a favorite but I just think it's funny how I went from hating his guts bc I thought he was an asshole to to liking him a lot bc I have a weak spot for big brother characters. He loves his family so so so much and just has trouble showing it properly!! He's still an asshole and an uptight prick but I like that about him now. My mc had the same development with him as I did, he went from "I hate this motherfucker I wanna kill him also he kinda scares me" to "this is my big brother we are holding hands :)" in the span of like a year and a half and it's really funny. Lucifer thought he was finally getting a sensible housemate and friend but ended up getting another insufferable, headache indicung little brother figure instead. Also I kinda have a non canon ship between him and my MC's father bc the idea is SO funny but also a little cute bc they compliment each other real well. My mc would become homophobic so fast if he found out and thinking about it is incredibly entertaining

You’ve heard of the Time Travel Fix-It fic trope, now get ready for the Time Travel Break-It fic trope.

LOL okay so this was a totally random thought that came about from some Star Wars convo I happened across on twitter that reminded me of how intensely I feel Anakin Skywalker has one of THE worst written character arcs of all time. Like IMO his entire characterization isn’t so much CHARACTERIZATION as it is checking off boxes on a list titled ‘how to speedrun a character from cherubic little blorbo to unrepentant mass murderer in as few steps as possible’.....it relies on an extreme contrivance of engineered-to-be-shitty life situations and events where his default reaction in each and every one of them is like, mandated to be the WORST possible choice he can make, lol.

And of course even though I’ve never really been in SW fandom, I’ve seen enough fic to know that like a go-to trope is ‘Anakin dies and goes back in time to fix everything so he doesn’t fall’ (even though half these stories I’m pretty sure still have the Tusken massacre happen which umm what are you even doing, that was not a precursor, that whole thing was Definitely Dark Side, you can’t fix him falling to the Dark Side if you don’t fix that too BUT I DIGRESS) aaaaaanyway, point is this is probably also a big part of why I’ve never gotten that deep into SW fandom b/c I am very much Not The Target Audience for that trope in this particular instance. I’m always gonna be like yeah cool story buuuuuuuut the takeaway is that the main character here is ‘learning to forgive himself’ for causing decades of trauma and tragedy to untold millions of people right? Mmm thank you but no thanks.

ANYWAY THE SEQUEL. The point that is the actual point is all of this led me to thinking hey you know what WOULD kinda be interesting? Focusing on the sheer artificial/forced contrivance of how Anakin’s arc is written in the prequel series.....and subverting the time travel fix-it trope so instead of it being like....Darth Vader travels back to redeem himself and make things better, what ACTUALLY happened is there was an ORIGINAL timeline where Anakin never fell to the Dark Side, and was like, an actual decent person and Jedi Knight/Chosen One who was like no, fuck off you shady bitch to Palpatine and ‘killed’ him.....but then due to Palpatine’s 80 million contingency plans, this somehow led to Palpatine’s spirit finding a way so that HE travels back in time to his younger self.....and like, with HIM being the one armed with foreknowledge, he goes about trying to manipulate Anakin’s life into a specific series of tragedies designed to optimize his flaws and minimize his strengths so that this time he DOES fall.

Aka....the Time Travel Break-It fic trope.

Anywho, this has been a random thought brought to you by the time 1:54 am and the inanity that is my defining trait. You’re welcome.

I've been talking about Linda x blinky with a friend and so many thoughts.

...are they ridiculed because it was a seemingly small thing that ended up setting them off? will they stand up and say "sorry, that really was ridiculous" and pop the cork right back in?

or is the bottle irretrievably broken, and can they never go back? do they try to go back, only to find they're crying at the slightest of things now? are they confused and frustrated?

do people around them prefer the old version of them?

You had Not been expecting your dumb jet boyfriend to be as receptive let alone door closed kickingly eager to get spiked the instant you suggested it. Even less did you expect him to be practically crushing your minibot spike with his calipers. You weren’t sure you could pull all the way out if you wanted to. Which you didn’t. You really, really didn’t.

It would hardly be the first time you’ve been on top a larger mech. It was honestly harder to find mecha whose helms Weren’t at least a good ten feet above yours than it was to find other minis. The war hadn’t exactly been kind to your height group, after all. Not that you were more fragile than larger mecha, but stomping helicopters was apparently more difficult than…smushing…a hatchback. Granted, there were advantages to being on the smaller side. You doubt the Scavengers would have taken you as a misplaced ‘bot on board if you hadn’t been “kind of adorable” from Spinister’s perspective.

And then apparently somehow More adorable once you’d given him a firsthand taste of your personal skill in obliterating knee struts. There had been some slow clapping from the rest of the gang save Fulcrum who was the only one grounded enough to give you a little bit of a berth after that.

Misfire, for example, nearly immediately offered you a different kind of berth.

So here you were, months in, and it was your first time requesting his valve which APPARENTLY (considering how absolutely squelching it was from the getgo) he’d somehow been WANTING to offer for mmmm the whole time but “kept forgetting.” If it had been literally any other mech you would have called bullscrap, but you’ve seen this guy get distracted by his own shadow directly after making fun of Spinister for the same Soooooo…

“Don’t ask Questions shortstack!” Misfire’s vocalizer glitched with static, “I can’t come up with witty answers when you’re ramming my backports!”

“You couldn’t come up with witty answers even if you weren’t being a slutty little spikesleeve,”

“Ah, haha, ah AH! Little… funny…coming from-eyaaggh aah oh FUCK, frag, babe aha buddy pleaaaaaaaaa,”

Misfire’s helm rolled and he arched, tremblingly bucking against you. You found your denta grinding as you picked up the pace mercilessly. Digits digging under his side vents, you locked your pedes on either side of his hips and held on like some sort of earth cowboy with hard, fast thrusts to boot.

Misfire alternated between whimpers and flat out hollering. The thought of Krok desperately trying to drown out mental images of what you were doing to his idiot crewmate set your fans even higher, and you kissed up and down the cockpit heaving under your chassis.

“That’s right sweetspark, look at me,” his optics were practically white with glare and fritzing and his expression stirred something deep in your fuel lines, “yeah, you wanted this bad didn’t you, tallstack?”

He half laughed, half moaned, and lights popped in your HUD with how fragging tightly he clenched around you.

“Mmm, good mech. Good mech Flyhigh, I’m counting on you to overload for me first so I can keep fritzing you until you can’t spea-“

Misfire practically crushed your helm against his cockpit grabbing and clutching you with both hands. His babbling was incoherent and eventually dissolved into trembling, broken whimpers as his collision force overload buzzed into aftershocks. Your own overload threatened to be concurrent, but you grit your dent even harder and kept thrusting.

The hands holding you were shaking horribly, but still they held on. One of his digits managed to wrap around your audial even as you felt his arms and frame going slack. His bucking melting into unintentional trembles.

You cried his designation as transfluid and lubricant gushed into Flyhigh’s valve along with the massive charge you’d built up. His hands jerked and fell from your helm to his sides. Your own aftershocks kept your frames interlocked for a long moment as you both vented hard and lay together.

You raised a hand and plopped it somewhat near Misfire’s shoulder.

“So…apparently… it fits…pretty okay…huh?”

He raised a shaking hand, curled his digits, and gave you an obliterated thumbs up

mmm im proud of a few of my fics for different reasons but this year it has to be my enstars bigbang fic...... its not published or even finished yet (im Almost There tho i might finish it tomorrow if i have time) but ive been working on it for many months now and its been such a journey writing it and im quite proud with the final result!! its turned into my second longest fic to date too, so finishing such a long fic is another reason im proud of it <3

17. your favorite character to write this year?

RITSU!!!! ive written him in almost all my fics this year and i love it!! i love writing him being silly and i love putting him through the horrors i always find it so easy to write him and i love exploring every side of his character my blorboest blorbo

29. favorite line/passage you wrote this year

uuu im so bad at picking good lines from my writing alsdkjfk but i really like the piano scene (part 5) from every season is full of memories of you with me especially the beginning so here you have a little excerpt from the first lines:

“Ritsu, please, we’ve been through this before.”

“And that’s exactly why I’m mad; you still don’t get it, Maa-kun.”

Ritsu wasn’t looking at Mao, his gaze instead focused on the piano right before him, his fingers lightly gracing the keys without emitting any sound. He wanted to play it, to play beautiful and sad melodies that reflected the music inside his heart at that moment and to get lost on them. Maybe forever.

“I do! I get it now! But I already apologized; I really didn’t have any other option this time…”

You never do, right?

Ritsu’s fingers tensed and curved over the keys, but still careful not to tap them hard enough to sound.

“But it isn’t just this time. You always do the same Maa-kun, even when you know how much I hate it. You never learn. And you can’t just expect me to forget all about it with just a simple ‘sorry’ every time.” Ritsu was shaking with a mix of anger, sadness and pent-up frustration, his fingers now clenching into fists over the keys. In a whisper, he added, “That only makes it more painful…”

“Ricchan…” Mao muttered. He sounded even a bit desperate, and it was just too much for Ritsu.

His fists fell hard to the piano keys, making a way too loud noise that snapped the tension between them.

“No, don’t ‘Ricchan’ me!” Ritsu couldn’t believe Mao was doing this to him. His fists clenched even tighter, nails digging hard at the skin on his palms. “I thought you had stopped using that name long ago, so don’t you dare bring it back right now.”

His vision blurred and soon he felt a couple of drops falling onto his hands.

I AM FINALLY GETTING TO THIS ASK. LET THE AUTISM BEGIN. THIS GUY BEEN ROTATING IN MY HEAD. MAYBE NOT THE WHOLE TIME BUT HOO BOY HE TAKES OVER SOMETIMES. AND U ALREADY KNOW I LIKE THIS GUY TOO. YOU AND ME. THE THOMAS WARRIORS. I MAY NOT SHOW IT A LOT BUT I CARE THOMAS A LOT. This is gonna be all over the place you will get lost here but come onto my mental illness adventure with me once more. I thought I had little to say but you opened an dven bigger tism adhd gate

I love Thomas our man SO MUCH he's literally like my second favorite blorbo in Toontown after Cathal that I can lore think about (BC HR joined Mt TTCC blorbo beasts list except he doesn't really have lore oops) I mean he's even on my phone case now, too, with other things that are important to me and he DESERVES IT

I really liked and cared about him before BUT!! this update and being able to finally see him in game myself after missing the other events... It is VERY VERY NICE and it made me like Thomas even MOREEEE

OK NOW TO ANSWER LIKE. THE OPINION QUESTION MORE DIRECTLY. He's a really fun character and as a duo with Robert he works rather well. He's ways in the background, overshadowed by his brother...(Who kind of needs him sometimes since the start of the company and YKNOW the literal guy he uh. Stands on to be level with the other Cogs. Like these guys need each other and I can elaborate on that more later) Working quietly. And yet he's quite the talker when he opens up and gets the chance to!! He's like me and a lot of people I know (I sure relate to him in this regard lol I literally state I ramble a lot in MY BIO and I DO) - more quiet and reserved people, sometimes seen as lonely... But with many things on mind, just waiting for the right people to trust to share these things with. Genuine trust or just comfort in a given situation... It's whatever but it's does also tie to another thing I wanna talk about later....or now actually

I know they state he is not befriending the Toons in the podcast - but with the way he speaks with us and his literal actions - it speaks louder than that and I think we should be allowed to make the interpretation that he is slowly gaining our trust. And I think it's a very interesting concept that the literal brother of the man behind this evil company that goes against the toons... Is befriending them. ( and literally your comic) the potential here is insane and it's more interesting than just yeah he stays true to his word he doesn't like you

It's clear that he does care - but it's true he's a very caring person in general. (then again a part of it is letting people step over him...literally. And he's aware of it and he dislikes it! Another thing I can relate to and speak from the heart about. But there's things I don't relate to and of course relatability is not all the reason why I like him... But it is a big part of it. Sorry not sorry I will project onto this man later) he does show he cares by literally closing the elevator and lying to save us from being seen... And waiting it out till the air is clear to let us in. Where he as always chats with us. Yeah they did say he just kinda puts up with it and since there's people to talk to he does ramble but... Some of the stories he tells are personal and he is aware of it. He did save you that one time and he did offer those cookies to you as well.. Even if you can't eat them. That's not even giving out the past items like some extra stock laying around he needs to get rid of...

(also I need to see if anyone reciphered those papers, already I love solving ciphers. It's an easy ceasar cipher yeah but having to rewrite this shit is that goofy fun part I did it with the papers at chips place... Idk if these r available somewhere.)

And the sweater?? Also very personal!! And like more story based as there's technically just one but ofc there's multiple players but in this case you can imagine yourself going there alone to speak with him each time as an individual... Like....the story about the extra stuff doesn't apply here this is personal.

But it is true he probably.. Does want to get rid of it. He makes a gift from the heart and it goes under appreciated. Unwanted...yeah I wouldn't want to see it either. But someone else may want it so yknow... Cutely gives it to the toons.

Like come on you can't tell me this guy isn't trusting these toons slightly, or, story wise, the toon/toons who come see him each April toons. Of course the recent one is the freshest in my mind and I only experienced the precious ones through reading the dialogue... I may miss some details of things he rambled about... But I genuinely believe with each visit he grows to trust the toons more and oh boy that could be interesting conflict... Who knows it could be brought up later with whatever board boy HQ is gonna be...plearse let us see Robert too I'm gonna implode

Anyways BACK ONTO THOMAS. I love this guy he's really nice I'd love to just sit in a room with him and exist together and sloy dwelve into back and forth rambling about stuff and I'd totally hype up his knitting... I just AURGHH. He had things going for him and these expectations... That he didn't met up to. But his brother had a plan and Thomas being well... Thomas. Not the leader type - he followed along... Because it was the best for him as who he is even if his parents wanted him to do other things

Despite the two (Him and Robert ofc) not exactly agreeing on things alwyad there's still care between them as brothers... They really are a duo!! Even if the topic is uh. A really corrupt capitalist robot company... And with Robert being preeeetty much very much so an asshole it's still just. Aurgh. Fun. Love the dynamic. Robert could just be an ass but he still cares about Thomas by some regard... I think about the time he watered Bubby for Thomas despite his hatred for the plant a lot okay

Thomas and Robert are already the most like, lore full characters (or Cogs specifically) other than some mgrs now and Atticus and Redd - but there's still so much like... Of an mysterious aura about them. We only hear about their lives and never see it... Robert we see in action in the comics - but we see him ONCE in game in a CUTSCENE MOST PEOPLE SKIP... Thomas we see in the background of the comics only speaking like... Once, I believe?? Even if he's there he's really easy to just... Not even notice. But he appears ingame and speaks DIRECTLY TO YOU. SEVERAL TIMES. for ALMOST HALF AN HOUR STRAIGHT...and he tells you a lot about his and by extentions Robert's personal life - something the comics can't tell you, and surely not the short cutscene with Robert during the directors fight

Like... They have the most lore but a lot of things are still unclear and it makes people want more answers and ponder more and it's BRILLIANT. I love it. I mean... I could rant about how a lot of info is hardly accessible in TTCC as a genuine criticism of how the game and lore is handled... But that's maybe for another day. BACK TO THOMAS SO LIKE ANYWAY- Thank you for canon aro ace character who states his opinions directly and is not forced to do it... And for fans being respectful about his identity for the most part as I can see and not... Forcing him to be romantic for ships. I avoid the fandom, mostly, specifically for reasons like this and because people scare me... So. I don't know how it really is. But an issue with aro ace characters is that even if we have a Canon one often fans will make them involved in romance for stupid ships anyway, absolutely erasing their identity. And then they bring up the "SOME AROSPEC/ASPEC PEOPLE DO DATE"... But they do this for all characters and ignore the chunk of people who don't, who just want to see themselves represented in media...im very tired of this being taken away from us as... Yknow. An aroace person myself. Thank you thomas for your swag.

Sooo.. How about some headcanons and personal things and me projecting because MOST HCS ARE JUST THAT!!!

Okay hey did you know I work with plants too? Yeah. (VERY SHITTY) agriculture school goer here.. Florist specifically.. Yeah I have no life plans for this but that's personal. Oh hey that sounds like someone I know. (also being around plants a lot makes me think abt thomas bc of association... And bc I'm spaces out 24/7 very likely thinking about my hyperfixation and the lore anyway to escape the moment. Uh I have problems OK?) Anyways...

Before I get to general projection stuff I wanna say my hcs!!

I think he sometimes carries gardening tools in his pockets and forgets about them. I do that. Forgets whole sharp gardening shears and then he needs to take out a pencil for someone, and instead he whips out something use able as a weapon. FUN!

I am not sure if it's stayed what his first knitting was ever... But whether or not this was his first or later knitting project doesn't matter - but I like to think that he knitted pot decorations for his plants!! Little pot sweaters, maybe!! Wouldn't even overheat the plants (some plants have veeery specific requirements but his ficuses should be fine) , I think, they don't give off heat for the sweater to insulate anyway, so it would really be just decorational....

And again, if the Cogs had cats I think he'd be a cat dad.

And now. The personal projection observation part... A reason why I think I like him so much is because I relate to him AND Robert. As someone who is a... Well. The anger issue filled, family failure shorter and younger sibling in my family... I can see myself in that. Some parts of the story really hit home... I'm not gonna get too personal here, but my relationship with my brother is... Rocky...been getting better though. He's very successful and I haven't done much in my life. He's the leader role. On the other hand, the dynamic here for Thomas and Robert is swapped... Thomas could've followed the success his parents set him up for, but he followed the lead of his brother instead - who his parents didn't see as good enough.

It's very different things, yes, but the things that are similar are what brings it a bit closer... Even if some things don't align well I can feel my heart sink when Thomas talks about it because. Ahaha yeah that ties to some of my biggest worries in life and it relates to me being the loser child in the family whoops

And just.. I AM. GOIGN TO EXPLODE. FUNNY HAHA CHAIR AND STEPPING STOOL THING ROBOTS. WHAT ARE YOU DOING TO ME. I AM GOING TO EXPLODE AGAIN. I CARE THESE BEASTS I MUCH. I THINK THIS COVERS MOST OF IT. OTHERWISE I'D REPEAT MYSELF. THERE'S PROBABLY MORE I'LL REMEMBER LATER BUT THIS IS IT FOR NOW.
