I really hate seeing a great character design like this and knowing they’re probably never going to appear again after this storyline.

The overcommitopus grabs with all of its tentacles
Committing to everything it possibly can
It causes strain both physical and mentacle
So to defeat it you might need to make fewer plans!

One page of Nadia in Avengers #676. Seriously, that’s all she got, disappointingly.
I have to admit I don’t know what to think of Voyager, this new character who was supposedly a member of the Avengers and all parts of their classic history but was then erased from the timeline in a battle before being returned when someone stole the Earth. I mean, on the one hand, DC once did the same with Triumph and writers even acknowledge the similarity when Voyager is erased as a side-effect of a battle with a guy who looks like Triumph and calls himself Victory. On the other hand, all those flashbacks show her saying stuff from the narration boxes and that just fucking screams at me “VILLAIN MANIPULATING EVERYONE!” so I don’t know.
Also, we have villains. They just drop off from nowhere - Black Order, who I recall being dead, but are now back. And they’re fighting new Lethal Legion, which features classic Marvel villains Blood Brothers as well as new Metal Master and a bunch of new villains - Mentacle, Ferene the Other and Drall. And a new Captain Glory - as I recall original one was Noh-Varr’s father, yes?
Also, these two groups are set to fight on Earth and apparently remaining heroes weren’t put in stasis like others to serve as an obstacle in this tournament. And they represent two sides and follow orders from two voices. I wonder what is this about. I mean, who could be behind this evil scheme?
By the way, what was the name of that guy Jeff Godlblum played in Guardians of the Galaxy? Grand...something? Grand Mooster? Grant Masters? Grandmaster? Nah, that’s silly, why would I think about Grandmaster right now? It’s just a scenario where the entire world is played as a game between two seemingly all-powerful sides with heroes and villains used as pawns. Nothing about it speaks of Grandmaster, nothing at all....

Note
I ship Rich/Mentacle.
I would say he’s probably not too keen about tentacles after his experience with the Cancerverse but on second thought he could definitely end up loving someone with tentacles (at this point he’s probably been with a non-humanoid sentient lifeform).
The aggressive telepathy on the other hand... Definitely a no.

Mentacle. What a name.
Al Ewing came up with the name when co-writing No Surrender and he at first thought it was too silly but eventually him Jim Zub, and Mark Waid decided to use it and embrace how ridiculous it was. Personally I like it, it has that Silver Age naming convention. It’s also catchy and it tells you right away what the character is about.

I suppose you're right, but at the same time, Darkseid made his way onto a Justice League roster, so I'm sure that Mentacle and the Challenger can join the Avengers too
By 2020 I hope to be the writer of Mentacle’s Maidens.  ;P
