The B post i just wanna say. they can block and move on no biggy at all, i have seen people harassed extremely badly due to being in the fandom and ships, seeing that person bringing up stuff just to get people harassed is fucking stupid and they clearly know what their doing. i can't follow certain people who i think are super cool because they did ships in the past and then stuff got brought up and anyone who followed them got Harassed. im never really on X because i see so much of this and it effects so many people to. in shorts words to bee, block. swipe and move on. (your awesome mell and your jimmy design is great \o/)

The stupidest thing is Most of The tweets that brought shipping topic up on Twitter are never a "Discussion" type of tweet

They just want to drop the name of who They think is bad/don't like and leave the person that becomes a public target feeling all stressed when they're just a person

most of them know what they doing and still think they're doing it for a good reason

I already have these kinds of discussions many many times and It's so embarrassing ppl still attack somebody on behalf of CC on the platform that CC can see

It really depressing to see lots of artists get harassed by these people who never learn to [ Live and let live ] and people can't talk about their perspective bc they are afraid of getting attack too (I don't blame them, Twitter can be scary)

It's even sadder when a person whom they thought they were friends with unfollows bc of that kind of thing too, imagine how heartbroken that is

That's why I have a trust issue living in this community and it's an absolutely stupid thing to have when it's just a hobby that supposed to be having fun in my little area

Life has already stressed me enough, Just don't cause unnecessary harm to others you don't like, and spread positivity to the ppl you like

Ch. 3: In Which Jeremy Puts his Pants on for Michael

(This is the last chapter of "Echoes of Erasure", which you can read on AO3) Preview: When you love somebody…

Michael bounces his rubber fidget toy off the ceiling for the umpteenth time. It makes a tiny “thwack” sound, then falls back down and lands on his chest. 

When you love somebody…

Thwack … thwack… 

The fidget toy falls and Michael catches it in his hand this time. He grips it tight and grinds his teeth together. 

Time to get up, Michael Mell. Time to get up already and go … It hurts. It hurts like hell. But when you love somebody … you just keep pushing through until the pain is gone. 

Michael digs his elbows into his mattress and props himself into a seated position. His limbs feel extra heavy, but he manages to swing his legs off the bed and stand up. He walks over to his dresser. Grabs a pair of pants and stuffs his feet into them. Tugs them up to his waist, does up the zipper … Drags a shaky hand through his hair … Then turns towards the door. 

It’s open. 

And Jeremy is staring at him.

Michael gawks for what’s probably several seconds. Then he lets out some sort of nondescript hiss and takes a staggering step backward. 

“What the hell, man! You can’t just—did you just barge into my room without knocking? I wasn’t wearing any pants!” 

Jeremy ducks his head. He’s silent for several beats. “I’m sorry,” he rasps finally. Barely loudly enough for Michael to hear. 

Michael isn’t stupid. He knows Jeremy is saying sorry for a lot more than forgetting to knock. 

This is Michael's opportunity. To be a good friend and smooth it all over. Tell Jeremy it’s okay. So they can go back to normal…

“Why are you here?” Michael asks instead. He hates how strangled his voice sounds. 

Jeremy blinks at him. His eyes are red, like he’s done way too little sleeping and way too much crying these past couple days. “I came to see you.” 

“Yeah?” Michael tries to stop it—the bitterness that instantly begins climbing up his chest. But it moves too quickly, and before he knows it, it’s scrambled up his throat and is popping out his mouth in the form of words. “So today is a day where you do want to see me? Not feeling the whole optic nerve blocking thing right now?”

He hates himself as soon as he says it. Hates himself even more when Jeremy’s face crumples, eyes and mouth scrunching up like he’s going to burst into tears right then and there. Michael feels his heart lurching in his chest towards Jeremy ... but his body stays rooted to the spot. His hands clenching into fists at his side. His face growing warm with anger and hurt and a thousand other clamoring emotions. 

“Michael,” Jeremy says weakly. “Please”—

“Please what? Do you really think you’re in a position to make demands of me right now? After you tried to fucking erase me?” 

Jeremy is crying. Tears splashing over his cheeks and chin. But he lifts that quivering chin and fixes his gaze squarely on Michael. “No,” he says. “No, I’m not in a position to ask anything of you. That’s not why I came here.” 

“Why did you come here then?” Michael bites the inside of his cheek hard enough to draw blood. He’s trying not to cry as well. 

“I came here because … because I thought you deserved a friend.” 

Michael stills. 

He stares at Jeremy, oddly tongue-tied. 

Jeremy lifts his chin even higher and tries to blink away his tears. “Michael … You have every right to hate me. You have every right to tell me to piss off and never talk to you again.” His voice quivers and he has to close his eyes and take in a few steadying breaths. Michael at once feels a surge of pride and a stab of pain as he watches Jeremy breathe in and out. Slowly. Just like Michael always prompted him to do. Jeremy opens his eyes and again fixes them on Michael. “I was going to respect that,” he continues. “I was going to stay away from you, if that was what you wanted.” His voice cracks horribly. His nostrils flare as he takes in another steadying breath. “But then I thought … Then I thought: Where would I be if that’s what you did?” 

“… What do you mean?” 

Jeremy takes to wringing his hands. “Back then … with the SQUIP … Jake’s party, the optic nerve blocking … Back then, I wanted you to stay away from me.” 

Michael closes his eyes weakly. Yeah. Yeah he knows…

“But you didn’t.” 

Jeremy's words ring between them, followed by an odd silence. Slowly, Michael opens his eyes. Jeremy is gazing at him earnestly, still wringing his hands. He looks like he might be about to twist one of his fingers right off.

“You didn’t stay away from me,” Jeremy repeats. “And thank God you didn’t. Cuz I would’ve freaking destroyed myself and the entire student body. Maybe the world. Not to mention that I … I … would have lost you. Permanently.” A massive tremor courses through Jeremy’s body. “I know that’s not exactly the position you’re in right now. I mean, being poised to destroy the world and all that. Or poised to lose the world’s most incredible best friend...” His brow twitches. “But …You said you were upset. ‘Pretty not happy,’ you said. And friends are supposed to be there for each other when they’re upset, right? You always have been for me…” Jeremy’s eyes are suddenly swimming. “So I figured I’d better go to you. Even if you didn’t want me. Because that’s what you would do. And you’re … you’re everything I need to be like. You’re the best best friend, Michael. And I don’t deserve you. But—But”—Jeremy hiccups and smears his hand under his nose. “But you do . Michael—you deserve a friend like you. You’re probably the only person in the world that deserves a friend like you. And if I need to be that friend in order for you to have what you deserve—then I’ll do that. Somehow, I’ll do that. Even though I’ve failed so, so badly in the past. Even though I’ve been the most terrible friend in the history of friends. I’ll be better. I’ll be the best. For you . Because that’s what you deserve. And Michael … Michael…” Jeremy has started shaking again. His hands are shaking so hard he can’t even wring them anymore. He can’t even use them to wipe at the tears and snot streaking down his face. “Michael…”

Michael steps briskly forward and catches Jeremy’s wrist. He lifts it to his mouth and presses a kiss to the inside. 

Jeremy quiets and stills. Even his shaking stops.

“… Michael?”

“Thank you,” Michael rasps. He raises Jeremy’s hand to his face and presses the palm against his cheek. “Thanks for coming for me, Jer.”  Read full fic on AO3

I thought of this concept when watching Claudia Cacace’s “More Than Survive” animatic for the first time (this was also one of the first times I heard that song). For some reason, my brain registered him as being really tall and muscular, and I thought that that’s what he was supposed to look like. I had to look at actual pictures of George Salazar to realize that this was not actually the case.

But, though I love a short king, I also got really attached to this concept, and it even helped inspire a potential character of mine (that I plan to save for a personal project). I just have so much fanart concepts of Tall Guy™ Michael Mell (who would look almost exactly the same as George, but really tall), and I just love the idea of Michael just entering and the mood just kinda changes (not always in a bad way, but in a way where characters not familiar with Michael are just Shoocketh™ with how tall he is).

I just have so many ideas for 6′7″ Michael Mell. Please like this if you are curious for more. Or don’t, because I might do stuff with it anyways.

Home planet: Mag Mell

A sprawling flowering plant that prefers humid climates. The inflorescence on its head is actually made of dozens of tiny individual flowers, which can take many different colours in a single head. Each petal also stains very easily, often leaving a psychedelic-appearing runoff.

It's a pretty fun one and a pretty one! After all, Mag Mell has a bit of a theme to it. Well, all the planets do, really. Let's take a look at another inhabitant.

A broad, thick, damp-smelling flower with a pale stem and six bulky cyan petals that grow in the shallows of swamps and marshes. Sounds of a particular frequency range and enough amplitude cause an electrochemical reaction that makes the head glow and emit particulates, which are picked up by the wind.

Yeah, no prizes for guessing the inspiration here! Still, imagine the hybrids...

Okay, one last one! Yeah, I can think much faster than I can draw...

Home planet: Elysium

A large cup-shaped orange-speckled grey-white flower that grows on the upper branches of the local trees, but is an independent organism. It gathers lots of potassium from the golden embers that float downwind from the volcanic regions.

There's a lot more to this one than first meets the eye! It's inspired by the Amber Spyglass, of all things, and I rather liked the idea of a volcanic plant that didn't require actually going to a volcano. Besides, I needed a way to reward climbing trees: you'll see why...

The Elysian Broadleaf has changed designs a bit over time too. That's the name of its humble abode. Actually, "humble" is not the word I'd use to describe them, being the biggest plants in the game!

That's all for Exogarden for now. I do wonder whether I should start throwing my other unrelated stuff on here or if that would just clutter things up. Eh, future me's decision. I'm going to bed.
