This viral video had me in tears. A little precious dark skinned black girl was looking at her reflection, called herself ugly and this Angel of a hair stylist quickly stopped what she was doing to shower the girl with love; she told her she was so pretty and to see that little girl's reaction made me so sad. Clearly, she's been subjected to featurism and colorism at her young age, believes she's ugly.
That breaks my heart. This is why representation matters, why I go so hard for diversity and why we need to uplift black girls everywhere because of this very reason right here. Especially dark skinned girls. Thank goodness for this sweet hair stylist, we need more gems like her in our world. Her Instagram name is: lilwavedaddy if anybody is interested in following her.
