"God, at this rate I'm never saving anyone's life ever again," Gem sighs as she puts her phone on Do Not Disturb.
"What do you mean?" False asks.
They're at a coffee shop in Houston. The Sunbeams had just finished a series with the Spies and were going home that night, while the Mechanics started a series with them tomorrow. False had decided to arrive a day early so her and Gem could do this, and after the terrible games both of their teams had had, False was particularly thankful for it.
Generally, she was thankful for Gem. About two weeks prior, False had been pitching a game in the Hellmouth, and the umpire had gone rogue. It was the ump at home plate, and it had been making a beeline for her when Gem had come sprinting out of her dugout and pushed False out of the way with more force than she'd expected the woman to hold. Gem had then tackled the umpire to the ground, taking the flames herself until they burnt out and could be safely removed from the field. Gem had barely seemed phased after the fact, just shook the dust off her uniform and walked back to the dugout. It was about as terrifying as it was impressive, and when Gem hit the game winning run off her at her next at bat, False couldn't find it in herself to be anything but impressed.
"My twitter mentions are blowing up, I think some fan or paparazzi saw us here and assumed we were on a date." Gem rolls her eyes and takes a long sip of her tea.
False can't help the snicker that comes out at Gem's words, but Gem doesn't seem particularly amused. "Wait, seriously?"
"Yup, this happens to me all the time," Gem says. "Everyone's got this image of us Fire Eaters being like, knights in shining armor, so every time I save somebody's life I have to deal with the internet being literally unusable for a few weeks if I want to avoid speculation about my relationships. Oh, and that's all the press will want to talk to me about after my games."
"Oh," False says, taking a long sip of her tea. She doesn't make much of a habit of looking at social media, and she has suddenly never been more grateful. "And this happens every time?"
"Every time! It's like they're trying to dissuade us from actually doing it or something. I'm not gonna stop, but like, sometimes I really want to. Can't they just ask me about the actual game one of these days?"
False lets the table fall quiet for a moment. She's thinking. For her entire career, she'd been a notoriously private person, both in her personal life and to the public. She'd been working on the personal life part for a long time, at the behest of her therapist, and she likes to think she's made some improvements. As for the public sphere, well, they weren't entitled to know anything about her. But- False takes a look at Gem, who's eyes are quickly flitting around the shop, like she's keeping an eye out for any cameras or fans looking too long in their direction. Maybe just this one thing...
"I think I might have an idea."

spaceship brought to life by fusing with a former crew member during space horrors mike / crab alien tillman that gets rescued by her au* (i watched event horizon went "actually it would be cool if an evil living spaceship was your gf") mike *is* the ship but he also has different robot bodies. this au starts more as a horror and then becomes portal and then is more of a romcom (the last picture is their first meeting) *au in the sense of taking my characterizations of them and doing my own story- theres a few other blaseball characters i might nab as well but most of them wont be there and its not following the storyline of blaseball at all

sometimes that's just the way that it goes
or, joel smallishbeans joins the tokyo lift (an mcyt blaseball au fic)
the thing about joel is- well, there's a lot of things about joel, but the most relevant thing, is that he never really got in to blaseball.
he'd gone to few of grian and jimmy's games in college, been brought to an equal number of pearl's minor league games, and mostly paid attention in conversation about it after his entire friend group became obsessed with the splort seemingly overnight.
but then he'd moved out to tokyo after college, where the blaseball scene had yet to expand to a proper minor league; let alone a major league. he got a non-splorts related job. he had non-splorts related hobbies. and he was suddenly in a timezone 17 hours ahead from all his friends who cared about these things.
so maybe he managed to forget basically all the knowledge he had about the game. sue him.
by the time the ILB expanded to tokyo with the lift, joel was certainly more knowledgeable on the splort than he'd ever been. he had basically the entire league's schedule in his calendar at all times, he voted in the elections, he kept a close eye on weather forecasts across the globe. a small side effect of most of your friends playing a splort that started killing people 10 years ago.
but here's the thing- despite joel's expansive knowledge of what's happening the ILB on any given day, despite his stockpile of votes, despite his constant presence as someone's plus one at any given ILB event or party-
despite all of that...
joel doesn't really know how to play.
which is a problem, when, on a whim that he now knows was definitely some divine intervention at play, he decides to actually go to one of his friend's games on a day they happen to be playing in tokyo. and it becomes more of a problem when an umpire goes rogue, and in the blink of an eye, joel finds himself vaulting a railing and picking up a bat that, until two minutes ago, belonged to a toyko lift player.
and now belongs to a new tokyo lift player.
him.
shit.
and that is how joel finds himself here, on a stool in stress and false's bathroom, staring at his actively-being-dyed hair in the mirror and considering.
he didn't know stress and false very well before joining the lift. he'd met them, of course, at the aforementioned parties and events he'd been brought to, but they weren't close by any means. but seeing as they were the only members of his new team he'd been properly introduced to prior to becoming their coworker, he found himself following them around like a lost puppy from day one. they seemed mostly endeared by this, so far, which joel was taking as an embarrassing but necessary fact of his new career.
the "sitting in their bathroom getting his hair dyed" part of his current situation had come about a few days prior, when the wild card teams were announced and the lift had officially made their first ever post season. joel's remark that they should do something for the occasion had spiraled into stress lending him her bathroom and hair dye to dye the streak in his hair pink in celebration.
by the time they actually got around to it, the lift had been knocked out of the post season by the wild wings in a two game sweep, but joel hadn't backed out, so here they were.
stress was mixing the pink dye while joel got the green bleached out of his hair, humming along to a song joel wasn't really listening to. the bathroom isn't large enough to fit false as well, with joel on a stool, so she's hovering outside doing... something. joel's kinda lost track of her exact movements due to his aforementioned considering.
joel hasn't actually played a lot with the lift, yet. he'd joined the team in the last 20 days or so of the season, so they've gotten a good 20 games worth of a look at his... let's say, skill, and they've all presumably figured out that he's not very good. no one's said anything, but that doesn't mean they haven't been thinking it. but it's also possible they haven't been thinking it, and if joel brings it up right now, then they'll all realize that he's terrible. but also, joel knows he needs to fix this problem, because he's seen what happens to bad players.
so he's sucking it up.
"stress, can i admit something to you?" joel says, as confident and nonchalant as he can manage. it's not very nonchalant.
"hm?" stress says, looking up from where she's fidgeting about. "sure, i don't see why not."
joel takes a deep breath before he continues. "now, i don't know if any of you have noticed this yet, but... i don't really know how to play blaseball."
this is when false chooses to poke her head in from whatever she'd been doing to comment. "sorry, repeat yourself?"
"well, despite the fact that all of my friends have played this game for years, i haven't been paying much attention to how it actually works. so i don't think i actually know how to play, which wasn't a problem for me until about three weeks ago. and now it's a very big problem."
"oh," false says, looking him up and down. joel tries not to feel scrutinized. "i wouldn't have guessed that from your stats, but yeah, in hindsight, that makes sense."
"you looked at my stats?" joel sputters.
"yeah is that not-" false looks at stress, desperation clear on her face. "do people not usually do that?"
"i mean, i don't, but i don't know what all you other geezers are up to."
joel has yet to move on from the stats thing. "i haven't even looked at my stats. what- are they good? actually, no i don't want to know. or, if they're bad, i don't want to know. if they're good you can tell me."
false laughs. "you're fine, overall. not a good pitcher, but that's not your problem. everything else is pretty average, but your batting is your best stat, and it's pretty up there. not really indicative of someone who doesn't know how to play."
"oh!" joel thinks about this. he doesn't think he's been a particularly special batter thus far, but he's not objecting to whoever's quantifying his skill saying he's good. not at all. "ok, well, i kinda know how to play. i think. i know enough that i've been able to be passable, but i want to be good next season."
"are you asking us to coach you?" stress says as she starts the tap to wash the bleach out of joel's hair.
"uh, if you want to, yeah. you're both good, i think."
false, who is now leaning in the doorway instead of poking her head in, laughs again. "yeah, i'd say we're alright." from her tone, joel suspects they're actually very good, and he once again has no idea what he's talking about.
"but we'd love to!" stress says, lightly pushing joel to put his head into the sink. her next words are slightly drowned out by the running water. "obviously the lift practice in the off season already, but we could spend a bit of time doing one on one stuff with you. show you the ropes, you know?"
joel, still in the sink, answers with a thumbs up. as he sits back up and takes the towel stress offers him, he sees false leave the doorway and go back to whatever she was doing, decision seemingly reached.
joel dries off his hair and stress moves in with the pink dye and a dye brush, humming along to another song he doesn't know. he definitely doesn't need her help dying his hair- he's been doing it on his own for years now. but she'd offered the dye she already had so he didn't have to buy a new color, and apparently that offer came along with her doing most of the work as well.
and for once in his life, joel is going to take the help without a fuss.

“Ok,” she says, finally breaking the silence. “So I think we just saw the future?” OR: Season 1. Pearl Moon, Netty Plays, and Jimmy Solidarity are batters for the Houston Spies. They are inseparable. Season 4. Pearl Moon, Netty Plays, and Jimmy Solidarity are blessed with Precognition. Season 10. The world is ending. Netty Plays and Jimmy Solidarity are long gone. Pearl Moon is not so lucky. A story about seeing the future, and what you do when that future is less than bright.
hi everyone, welcome to the first chapter of "bring out all the ghosts to life", a story in my mcyt blaseball au about pearl, netty, and jimmy, seeing the future, and grief in a death game.
i'm so excited about this fic, you guys don't even know, and it would mean so much to me if you checked it out (though definitely mind the warnings).

hand me the riven bros. i am scratching at your door and wailing and staring at you with the wettest cat eyes
Hmmm I wonder who could be asking me about the Riven bros. I wonder
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Xornoth Riven was a pitcher for the Yellowstone Magic and Scott Riven was a pitcher for the Seattle Garages. Xornoth spends his time off the field visiting graves, avoiding his brother, and avoiding the press even more aggressively. Scott spends his time off the field micromanaging, being gay, and also avoiding his brother.
Xornoth and Scott were both players from season 1 and have had a terrible rivalry when it comes to everything since they were kids, only exacerbated by their parents. Xornoth was the best pitcher in the league when they first joined up, which made Scott extremely jealous, and then Xornoth got killed because of it and Scott won the Max Out Pitcher blessing, making him the best pitcher in the league.
Xornoth was resurrected going into season 7 and had to deal with the debt that makes you kill people. One of the people he killed was Pearl. So needless to say, he and Scott's relationship was extremely strained during this time, and this was only exacerbated by Scott being Shelled on and off. Scott is stolen by the Shelled One to pitch for the PODS and Xornoth is stolen by the Monitor to pitch for the Hall Stars, and it's a whole thing that results in the two of them being Released at the end of season 10.
Xornoth and Scott have a very strained relationship for the time they're playing Blaseball, to say the least. What happens to players after being Released varies from person to person, but wherever they are, they probably get to be like, normal siblings after a bit.
Xornoth's Assigned Garages Song: hurt people
Scott's Assigned Garages Song: pathetic/spineless

👀 martyn and/or rendog for the mcyt blaseball au?
Oh my god ok so time to divulge a secret. While I said there were three legs of this AU (Empires, Hermitcraft, and the Life Series) I just cannot get the Life Series branch to Totally work. I don't know why, I just have a much more difficult time assigning teams to the Life Series players than any other SMP. I think it’s probably got to do with how wildly different everyone’s story is in any given season and something to do with the fact that dying in a Life Series is just wildly different that dying in Empires or Hermitcraft and that difference just doesn’t transfer quite right to a Blaseball AU.
However the Life Series branch of this AU does exist, and it has basically just become a treebark AU at this point, so you're in luck. You're especially in luck because Martyn still exists in the Hermitcraft AU, so I'll give you them in both!
Let's start with Hermitcraft, because that's the simple one.
Tumblr media
Ren Dog is a shortstop for the San Francisco Lovers with the Charm modifier. He spends his time off the field as the test dummy for Doc’s experiments or Martyn’s video games, making any given reporter fall in love with him, and watching a lot of Flormula 1.
The Charm modifier is one that allows players who have it to periodically charm their opponent into failing. In Ren’s case, this means getting the pitcher to throw an extra ball or two with a well timed smile or wink. All the lovers have it, but ladies (and gentlemen and others) get in line, because Ren is particularly good at it. Ren is also the captain of the Lovers- self appointed- because he thinks he’s good at that (he’s not but they let him have this).
Martyn isn’t a player in this universe (but it’s not off the table! It never is off the table to become a player, if the Hermits are looking to add anyone to season 10). He’s just a regular guy doing regular guy things. He and Ren are at the very least living together, I’ve not decided if they’re married. I don’t know why but something in my bones is telling me that Martyn is a video game dev for his day job.
Ren’s Assigned Garages Song: i’m in love with a blaseball player
Sorry I’m not giving Martyn one because he doesn’t play
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Martyn Inthelittlewood is our Parker Macmillan in this AU because I am nothing if not consistent.
Martyn I started his career as a first baseman for the Alaskan Immortals during Pre-History. He was one of the best players in the League and made the Fans, some of whom are Watchers, because the metaphor is literally right there, lots of money due to his Profit modification, which increased idol payouts x10. Fans of teams that weren’t the Immortals got jealous and cursed him with Non-Proft, baring any Immortals fans from making money off of him, as well as Firewalker, which would curse any team he left with team wide instability. If the Immortals Watchers wanted to make money off of Martyn, they’d either have to leave the team that he was single-handedly bringing to every championship or risk his leaving the team killing the entire team.
The Watchers chose to risk it.
And then a lot more stuff happened to Martyn I that I’m not gonna get into, and I’m going to assume that you’re a Blaseball fan, anon, so you already know all this anyways. If you’re not, I’d absolutely be willing to explain but this post is already so long without it. Anyways, Martyn I gets trapped in the Vault for an undisclosed number of years and clones get made of him that don’t remember any of this.
We don’t know what happened with Parker II, so we don’t know what happened with Martyn II either. This will never fail to make me deeply deeply angry.
Martyn III is made the intern-interim commissioner of the newest era of Blaseball, the era in which Ren was a season 1 player.
Ren Dog was a first basemen for the LA Tacos while they were still the LA Tacos. He’s our Wyatt Mason in this AU, if you haven’t gathered. This also means he should be way worse of a player than I made him but I felt bad doing that. When the Grand Unslam happened and the world fractured around him, every member of the Tacos suddenly lost their names, the only identifier Blaseball players had at this point, and became Ren Dog. Martyn III guided the Fans (Watchers and Listeners alike cause why not) in restoring all the members of the team, except for Ren. Because that’s just not how this works. It never is.
Ren dissolved into static and became the Microphone, his own entity separate from the gods and management of Blaseball. He plays by his own rules and helps save the world from the guys in charge. Martyn III might not be a fan of the guys in charge, but he doesn’t understand the Microphone, and it scares him, and he doesn’t know why.
It should be known that while Blaseball was running I was a diehard for Parker/Wyatt, and so that heavily effects this whole thing. Specifically, a very important thing to me was that Wyatt/Ren was a normal person during pre-history when Parker I/Martyn I was playing Blaseball for the first time. The Boss (the Watchers) weren’t his biggest fan and maybe, just maybe, the Watchers pulled some strings to put Ren in the latest iteration of Blaseball so they don’t run the risk of him and Martyn III meeting each other and talking for too long. What happens to Ren in the Grand Unslam is just helping keep them apart even more.
However, what Ren is doing as the Microphone is bad for business. Very bad. So maybe they pull another few strings to send Ren very far away for, ideally, a very long time. And maybe they equally orchestrate some bad things happening to Martyn III and Martyn IIII so that they finally get the perfect puppet with Martyn IIIII.
But nothing ever works out the way they want. Because the game, the business, is falling apart at the seams. Because Martyn I is still in the Vault, dead set on getting out, and when Martyn IIIII finds out that he isn’t his own person? That he’s a clone of a man that’s still alive and still angry? That he’s missing memories most of his life because they were taken from him?
Yeah he doesn’t take it so well.
He finds himself asking the Microphone- Ren- for help. He doesn’t know why. But Ren can’t reach him where he is, so Martyn takes ahold of the Microphone himself, directs the new generation of Fans into taking down the old ones, the Watchers, who are now management and straight up ending the world. And he does take them down, but the world still ends, and inside that Black Hole, everting gets weird for Martyn.
It’s a side effect of taking up the Microphone- you don’t do that and not get weird.
Ren’s still not quite around, never really will be again, but now that Martyn’s taken up the Microphone, they can talk. And this Martyn is not the one that Ren knew and loved long before all of this, but he also kind of is? He used to be, even if he doesn’t remember it? But admittedly, Ren isn’t the Ren that Martyn knew either. They’ve both changed beyond belief, and maybe they can have something new together now. And maybe having something new means having it in the void at the end of the world but, well, at least they get to have it.
I care about them a lot in this AU they make me crazy.
Martyn’s Assigned Garages Song: firewalker with me
Literally what else did you expect
Ren’s Assigned Garages Song: ENCORE
I’ll be frank this one’s a bit of a cop out because Rain is a Garage and this is a Blaseball song but it wasn’t released under the Garages label. But look it’s just so good.

for blaseball au. any of the girls :gun:
I’ll give you our two most plot important girls from both legs of the AU! (Cleo and season 2 Shelby) How about that!
Tumblr media
Zombie Cleo is a pitcher for the Kansas City Breath Mints. When she's off the field, she spends her time standing ominously in graveyards, picking fights with the Spearmint, and going to Garages gigs when Joe is headlining.
Cleo was a season 1 member of the Breath Mints and takes the Jaylen Hotdogfingers roll in this universe, meaning that when the Forbidden Book opens in the first election, she is killed. She is resurrected back onto the Mints in season 7, kills people for a season, dies again in season 10, saves the world, and then just has to live like a normal person again. It's fine. She's fine.
Her closest friends in the league are Joe, who retreated to the Shadows to bring her back, and Gem, who replaced her when she died the first time. The fact that she has managed to find her way back to Kansas City every time is a miracle in and of itself, but it's even more of a miracle that she still likes it there after all of this. And she does! It's her home, and despite everything, Cleo does still enjoy the game, in some way.
Garages Song Assignment: dead ringer
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Shelby Moore was a shortstop for the Yellowstone Magic, a shortstop for the Houston Spies, and is currently a Shadows player for the Spies. She spends her time off the field learning magic, staring longingly at the frog enclosure at the zoo, and visiting New York for the sole purpose of seeing Katherine.
Shelby was a season 1 player for the Magic, where she became close friends with Xornoth. She was with him when he died, and though she tried to befriend his replacement, False, she didn't have much time to before she was killed in season 3, at which point she picks up a pseudo-Chorby Soul role in this world. She spent a very long time in the Hall of Flame- 10 seasons and the entire grand siesta- when she was resurrected onto the Spies kinda as a joke. She came back with an Observation debt that she's stuck with for at least two seasons before it gets rerolled into Haunted. During the time she was debted, she hits both Sausage and Katherine, but thankfully both of them avoid getting Redacted.
She has perhaps the world's worst time getting munched by Consumers and it takes until her soulscream is a fraction of what it used to be, she's been playing without stars for years, and has just been generally suffering for the Spies finally send her to the Shadows in season 20. Shelby spends the final four seasons before the end of the world getting therapy in the Shadows, befriending Sausage and False, spending time with her girlfriend, and working at an apothecary's just to keep herself sane.

i'm thinking about blaseball au hermits and i was struck with an extremely funny way that i can still do demise in this universe so here it is. basically i had a hc that blaseball players couldn't die outside of a game. if something happened to them that should have killed them, they'll heal their injuries ridiculously fast (like, broken bones healed by morning kind of speed) and not die, obviously. so with this in mind, demise happens with the slightly modified rule set of "dying" actually meaning "being given substantial enough injuries that they would have killed you were you not a blaseball player". otherwise it plays exactly as it did in hermitcraft (and also gem and pearl are there this time) because the hermits are insane people. all of their other teammates just. don't look at it and let them have fun.

ask game, title, pick what you like!:
even what we have was once young
golden apple, barrel of string
did i envy your spirit here
somewhere between a fallen angel and a song
if the prophet was a radio host
wax feathers in a frozen lake
OOO these are all such fun i'm gonna do more than one
somewhere between a fallen angel and a song
i know you gave me this one so i would write a summary for a mythicalsound fic. and you are getting exactly that. (also we're pretending that sunny allows for, like, phone calls instead of messages for the sake of this)
Pearl and Sausage talk, sometimes, about the things they remember now. Not often, not much of it is worth talking about anymore. But sometimes, there's a story to tell in the long and complicated history they have. Today, Pearl has one of those stories. "Did I ever tell you about the time Oli showed up in heaven looking for you?" "Sorry, the time he what?" Or, Sausage learns the whole story of how Oli showed up in Empires.
if the prophet was a radio host
radio host is a LOOSE connection for the microphone, i'll be honest, but i'm drawing it anyways as an excuse for a treebark blaseball au fic.
The thing about the end of the world is that it never goes quite the way you planned it.
When Martyn thought about the end of the world, he didn’t imagine himself here: alive, in a black hole, with blood on his hands. He didn’t imagine ever reaching this point, and yet, here he is. So when he suddenly begins to see a person on the edges of his vision, to hear a voice in his head, maybe he’s surprised, but it seems par for the course.
The thing about the end of the world is that it never goes quite the way you planned it. Unless you’re Ren, that is. If you’re Ren, you saw this coming from a thousand miles away, and yes, this exact situation was what you’ve been planning for the last three years. Exactly.

i'm going on a VERY fun rabbit hole with this life series/hermitcraft/empires blaseball au thing, so have the next installment, the hermit blaseball au! this one is a lot easier to understand if you don't know anything about blaseball, because this is Much more "i've just put them into the plot of blaseball, they're just hanging out in there". my empires blaseball au can be found here, and the third life blaseball au will be linked here one i finish writing that up.
also, a few of my choices for teams i am not... particularly confident about (namely xisuma, bdubs, hypno, and tango) so if you have a better suggestion for them please pitch it.
Grian: Batter for the LA Unlimited Tacos
Scar: Batter for the Miami Dale
Mumbo: Batter for the New York Millennials, Siphon
Cleo: Pitcher for the Kansas City Breath Mints
Ren: Batter and team captain for the San Fransisco Lovers, Charm
Bdubs: Batter for the Hawai’i Fridays
Impulse: Batter for the Hellmouth Sunbeams
Pearl: Pitcher for the Houston Spies, Precognition
Gem: Pitcher for the Kansas City Breath Mints
Xisuma: Pitcher for the Philly Pies
Evil X: Pitcher for the Hades Tigers
Wels: Batter for the San Fransisco Lovers
Hels: Batter for the Baltimore Crabs
Hypno: Batter for the Mexico City Wild Wings
XB: Batter for the Atlantis Georgias
Beef: Pitcher for the Dallas Steaks
Keralis: Batter for the Core Mechanics
Joe: Pitcher for the Kansas City Breath Mints, later batter for the Seattle Garages
TFC: Coach of the Ohio Worms
Doc: Pitcher for the Core Mechanics
Jevin: Batter for the Charleston Shoe Thieves, Flinch, later rerolled into Reverberating
False: Pitcher for the Tokyo Lift
Stress: Batter for the Tokyo Lift
Iskall: Batter for the Breckenridge Jazz Hands
Tango: Pitcher for the Chicago Firefighters, Fire Eater
Cub: Batter for the Charleston Shoe Thieves, got Flinch from fighting god and got it rerolled into Debt
Etho: Pitcher for the Canada Moist Talkers
Zedaph: Pitcher for the Yellowstone Magic
Wormman: Pitcher for the Ohio Worms
This AU is, even more so than the Empires part of this AU, just me shoving the Hermits into the Blaseball universe and letting it happen.
The only people who are even sort of replacing an actual Blaseball player are Cleo, Joe, and Gem.
Cleo is our Jaylen. She pitches for the Kansas City Breath Mints, and is the best pitcher in the league, and when the Forbidden Book opens, she dies. Her intended replacement is False Symmetry II, aka Empires!False, but when the Forbidden Book is opened in the Empires, Hermitcraft, and Life Series universes all at once, everything gets a little muddled, and everyone comes out of it a little muddled. The biggest change is that Cleo is instead replaced by Gemini Tay, the newly generated player from the Empires world who was meant to replace Xornoth.
When she is resurrected at the end of season 6, Joe goes into the Shadows in exchange. Within a few seasons, he is able to leave the Shadows and bats for the Breath Mints for about a season, afterwards he is transferred to the Seattle Garages, where he stays. I am not putting him back in the Shadows because it makes me kind of sad.
Cub and Jevin are both players for the Thieves, so they get cursed as a result of the boss fight against the Shelled One. We will resolve that later. Hels, despite being on the Crabs, does not get cursed, because he doesn’t join the Crabs until after they return from ascension.
Other than that, the Hermits are just sort of Existing in the world of Blaseball. Evil X and Hels are both created in similar ways to Evil Twin and Bontgomery Mullock, which is to say, Blessings break and accidentally clone a guy, so we just slightly edit one of their names and keep going. Don’t worry about it.
At one point during Expansion, while the Reroll Will is still in effect, fans of the Thieves attempt to reroll the Flinch modifier that Cub got as a side effect of fighting god and losing that one time. It gets rerolled into Debt, in a similar vein to what happened to Silvaire Roadhouse, but because he’s on the Thieves, he actually gets to kill people. Good for him. Jevin’s Flinch modifier also gets rerolled, but he gets Reverberating. Good for him, but in a different direction.
