since the christmas stream, you two had been dodging the question 'why do you call yn peaches?' like your life depended on it. tweets, donations on stream, even other streamers were teasingly asking you two. many people already assumed it was sexual and just wanted you two to admit it while others thought the opposite and wanted to know the 'cute' story behind it.
nick would be streaming all on his own, months since the christmas stream had passed and the question comes up again in his chat. but this time, its hard to ignore. everyone is talking about it.
'why do you call yn peaches?!?!?' a donation read out loud, causing him to groan.
"guys, guys, its none of your business," he says suppressing a smile as he looks at chat to find something that isnt related to the sexual nickname.
'i bet its something sexual...' he read in his head before it flew by. scoffed and shook his head, turning to look at his second monitor.
you would be streaming, minding your own business when you see the question fly past in your chat.
"you guys are really holding onto that peaches thing huh?" you laugh. "if you really want to know, ask nick. he's the one that came up with it! and i would gladly tell you, but i dont think he'd want me to."
soon after, people are talking about it on twitter and nick mistakenly likes a tweet that reads 'i have a feeling 'peaches' is something sexual but if they dont want us to know, its not our problem!'
he unliked it ten minutes later realizing people were starting to see it. but it was too late now! and people lost their minds over it.
AI sapnap whimpering it behind edits of you two. edits of him actually calling you that. people making compilations of when he would say it and you two looking at eachother in ways no one ever caught. basically broke the internet a second time around.

this is really short but eh whatever. hope you guys enjoyed. im sorry if it seems rushed... it kinda was... mb... but yea, thats it -Nony

Harringrove ambient for sleeping
So. There's these two audios youtube has decided to throw at me:
Sleeping next to Billy Hargrove (sound of rain, dude's breathing, a bit of background music in the beginning, one hour)
Sleeping next to Steve Harrington (sound of rain, very steve-sounding dude's making little noises while he sleeps, one hour)
The first one was a bit on the nose for me with his intense breathing out (I don't even like asmr to begin with), although generally nice, the second one has landed really fucking good on me but I've felt like it needs more salt.
So I've decided to put them both on at the same time. And it was really fucking good. So I've decided to suddenly learn me some audio editing.
I've combined both of those audios into one, as they were, not changing anything, (can be found here, on google drive, 149.5 Mb), for more convenient listening than youtube, (the original author, Celeste, is a literal god, please like both of their videos if you're gonna use my edits).
It turned out nicely, but then I've decided that it needs to be LONGER and with MORE MUSIC, and some fiddling with Steve's track (flipped left/right channels for him so the overall combined rain could become more 3d). Six hours later it looked like this:
Tumblr media
I put the music track at the very low volume, with some reverb, so it would sound like it's in another room, quite closely resembling music in the Hargrove audio, so there's no difference to be noticed at the change.
The playlist choice is a bit anachronistic (not everything is 80's) but for me it all worked quite well together:
Billy Idol - Rebel Yell
Bon Jovi - You Give Love A Bad Name
Warrant - Cherry Pie
Motley Crue - Girls, Girls, Girls
Journey - Separate Ways (Worlds Apart)
W.A.S.P. - Sleeping (In The Fire)
Van Halen - Little Dreamer
Def Leppard - It Don't Matter
Ocean Jet - Into The Storm
In This Moment - Fly Like An Eagle
Ray Adler - Crown Of Thorns
Chris Rea - Road To Hell, Pt.II
Billy Joel - A Matter Of Trust
Bob Seger & The Silver Bullet Band - No Man's Land
Judas Priest - Night Comes Down
Billy Idol - Rebel Yell
Bon Jovi - You Give Love A Bad Name
Кино - Кончится Лето
Atrocity - Cold Black Days
Paradise Lost - Small Town Boy
Lucifer - Pacific Blues
Whitesnake - Is This Love
The Kinks - I'm Not Like Everybody Else
Black Rebel Motorcycle Club - Beat The Devil's Tattoo
Chris Stapleton - Nothing Else Matters
BOA - Duvet
I've left some twenty minutes in the end without any music, but if you're not already sleeping by now it probably won't help much.
The whole thing lasts for 2 hours 8 minutes, the file is about 294 Mb big.
DOWNLOAD HERE (google drive)
My eternal thanks to the Celeste of Youtube for compiling the originals.
I hope y'all sleep well tonight.

James has an overwhelming amount of releases strewn across many pseudonyms (I counted 18 aliases on Discogs). there’s no doubt that if you’re a DJ with a large music. He is the tutor for our Dance Music Formula and Music.Īnd is a music producer and sound engineer too. These include singles, EPs, albums and compilations. Deciding on which releases to include in this visualisation was quite challenging. I thought that I should focus on the “core” releases to reflect the overall feel of his work and settled on using albums released under the most well-known pseudonym: Aphex Twin. Whether these albums reflect his most important work is debatable, but I feel that they provide a reasonable reflection of his discography.īreaking down each album by track, I used two attributes in order to visualise sound: average volume and tempo. While it is difficult to describe and compare music visually, average volume and tempo are likely to show the intensity of each track and work well to visually distinguish one track from another. This visualisation is in no way meant to provide a serious statistical comparison, but I think it works well as a small piece of data art while simultaneously providing an insight into the variety of the Aphex Twin sound. To measure average volume, the dB (decibel) RMS (root mean square) of each track was obtained using SoX. SoX was also used to retrieve track lengths. Bash and Python scripts were then used to process this extracted data. To measure tempo, beaTunes 4 was used to retrieve the BPM (beats per minute) of each track. For some tracks, the BPM determined by beaTunes was either twice as fast or only half of the value which seemed “right” for the track, so I adjusted those values by hand. Although beaTunes returned a BPM value for every track tested, there are certain tracks that do not have a noticeable tempo or beat at all, so BPM values for these were discarded. They appear as having a tempo value of n/a in the track information and are not visible when triggering the “tempo” view.įinally, Google Sheets was used to compile, format and export the data. The visualisation was implemented using d3.js.The Santa Clarita Valley Senior Center at Bella Vida is excited to announce its July 2021 line-up of outdoor events. Please take part in our Twitter poll and feel free to comment below. So what about you? What kind of accuracy do you need? And you do that by using your ears and the pitch shift knob, not a high accuracy tempo number. All you need, is to quickly find a track that is similar in tempo to the one you are already playing, to match their beats manually. But since you cannot tell your turntable to play a track at 125.123 BPM, an accuracy value with decimal places is not required either. Clearly an accuracy of less then 8% is not very useful, when you are DJing with turntables. To give an example, DJ turntables often allow changing the pitch in a range from -8% to +8% (simply by spinning the vinyl faster or slower). So the answer to "Is it useful?" is a clear "It depends!". While some of these applications require just a general ballpark accuracy, say within 10%, others rely on more accurate estimates.

- day 80/100 days of productivity
...is it just me or is it kind of satisfying that today marks my 80th day with the 100 day productivity challenge, having 20 days left and today's the 20th of November ?? dunno if I make sense but... yes, hahaha
went to bed at 4am instead of 1 as I've said in the past post since I accompanied a friend and I don't know, I had a lot of energy?? And then later in the day I was so tired again so I picked off the stems of eucalyptus and flowers from my sister's bouquet that were already drying up and hung them by my desk for them to dry well.
for today's productivity:
academic
CRAP long quiz (draft, I'll be reviewing my answers before shading my answer sheet and organize my computations)
HERT started with my compilation of notes for finals' project (notes from prelims-finals)
MB notes and studied on respiratory infections
non academic
ate well
had a glass of wine during the night while studying (a glass or two of wine's beneficial, yes im justifying this hahaha)
listened to tiny desk performances while studying - actually watched Tyler the Creator's whole performance, it's very entertaining, hahaha
hung eucalyptus and some flowers over my desk and now I love how my area smells and looks
it's the weekend!! I'm having a bit of a difficulty planning out a time slot for relaxing/winding down, so as you can see today was messy but I hope you all also squeeze in time to relax !!
currently listening to: Harry Styles: NPR Music Tiny Desk Concert

I need to be arrested by the fluff police. I doodled a scribble in my notebook of MB and his baby boy Codec, inspired by my olde RB fanfic, and then decided to draw it properly this evening to pass some time… and suddenly it’s 3 hours later and I should be in bed.
I’m damn proud of this. Why is the best art I do my silly, cringey idiocy?
The full pic, and a short convo I scribbled down between Megabyte and Dot to give it some context, is under the cut. It just struck me that Megabyte was never a child – he and Hex were “born” in an explosion from a single virus split in two – so tiny babies are probably very strange and nonsensical to him, but also fascinating.
Tumblr media
MB “It’s curious…how they start so small, so vulnerable. It is quite a miracle they survive at all.”
Dot “Yes, well, they rely on us completely at this stage. We have to care for them whilst they concentrate on compiling-up, on learning. It takes a lot of energy.”
“I am aware. And yet viruses like myself can emerge fully-formed, created in a moment.  We might upgrade but we are not born per se. Do you not think it is safer, more practical, to come into the world fully grown?  To be able to defend oneself instantly with clear mind and thought?”
“Maybe, sometimes, it’s more worthwhile to compile the hard way? Yes it takes longer, demands the care of others, but you can take your time over choosing who you want to be, what you want to do; you can make mistakes, and then grow past them.”
“Ah, I see where this line of thought is going. You believe that creatures like myself, if nurtured and raised, given choices, may have pursued alternative circuits, yes? That we would not be… ‘monsters’? And yet none of us can go against our code.”
“Can we not? Have we not? I’m not so sure any more.”

Huge dry goodsUAs of June 2020, the growth position of Ethereum 2.0 is definitely "panoramic interpretation"
This article wants to provide everyone inside our community-the Ethereum community-with a panoramic interpretation from the development position of Eth2: what are we developing at this point, what could be developed, and what you need to focus on . I will offer just the right technical description to help you understand our purpose, our vision, the current status of the project, and the work that should be done, and do not let everyone suffocate in mathematical terms and our expert terms. This article comes from this article "The State of Eth2, June 2020" by Danny Ryan @ ethereum.org, compiled, written and organized with the columnist Ethereum lovers. However, this dynamic and conversational technique, although valuable, nevertheless makes many buddies locally baffled. Moreover, Personally, i have to solution the same queries again and again, and even more frightening is the fact that I will be asked exactly the same questions after 6 months! Obviously, there is a communication problem. Although the information exists, it is scattered through the entire Internet - from research posts, technical specifications, to specification interpretation, general public meetings, public conversation channels, reddit community forum posts, and foundation blogs. After Devcon 5 ended, my first try to bridge these details gap was to write the "Eth2 Up-date GLANCE" series of blogs. This series of blogs provides a lot of small clips to help readers understand Eth2.0, but I steadily realized these blogs cannot help you truly achieve a panoramic understanding. Although this bigger picture is often talked about in Podcasts, AMAs (question and solution actions) and meetings, it is still helpful to explain it in text. So here I am! This article should also be ideal for those technical professionals who've a deep understanding of Ethereum but not so much about Eth2. Don't worry, I also recognize that the whole project is large and complicated, also it appears that you can't find yourself solving the issues you encounter. Hope this article can help you better understand what will come in the future. As for friends who know Eth2 nicely, don't miss this article-you can realize where we have been from a broader perspective and exactly how I start to see the possible future growth. Disclaimer: The written text is only my personal opinion on the current improvement of Ethereum 2.0. There are many different voices and views driving the constant development and development of Eth2. This short article is a snapshot of my own interpretation. Eth2, WTFEth2 is a scalable proof-of-stake facilities. Eth2 was built "for" Ethereum and can ultimately "become" Ethereum itself. Eth2 is definitely committed to delivering a safer and scalable environment for the existing Ethereum mainnet, as well as the deployment method won't cause a split effect. At the same time, it also has an upgraded environment for the continuous progress. Long before the release of Ethereum, people knew that a single blockchain model could not supply enough "bandwidth" and for that reason could not end up being the backbone of a new decentralized network. Ethereum-related equity proof research and sharding study can be traced back again to 2014, that is the early days of Ethereum (Ethereum hadn't yet started). Both the proof-of-stake protocol and the sharding architecture are designed to answer the next questions: Given the amount of resources committed to a crypto-economic system, can we enhance security and throughput at the same time, and allow ordinary consumer-grade hardware to take part in consensus and synchronize blockchain? I will not go into the history of these studies here. In a nutshell, these explorations took several years, and several of the original ideas have been proven wrong. In the end, our answer was yes, and it was the Eth2 task. Eth2 can be an ambitious and protracted task that people will launch in phases. These plans have already been thoroughly narrated and discussed, but I nevertheless propose a quick-sighted, not-so-technical interpretation. Related topics: Ethereum 2.0 Newest Staking Information : The many stages of Eth2 Related topics: EthereumUSeven reasons why ETH2.0 will create economic transformation Phase 0 Stage 0 will start the primary of Eth2's new consensus mechanism, the Beacon Chain. The beacon string is definitely where all system-level routines occur, which is also the place for collaboration and conversation within the system. The development objective of Stage 0 would be to allow thousands of consensus models (verifiers) distributed around the world around thousands of nodes to take part in consensus at the same time. Because of the technical dependence on assigning validators to multiple shards following the Phase 1 phase starts, we are in need of the beacon chain in order to handle a lot of validators. A lot of engineering complexity originates from this technical necessity. Other non-fragmented equity proof mechanisms generally only have significantly more than 100 or more than 1,000 verifiers, however the design goal of Eth2 is to accommodate at the very least 16,000 verifiers, and this number is likely to reach thousands in a couple of years. Phase 1 Phase 0 would be to launch a consensus mechanism, while Phase 1 would be to allow plenty of content to reach consensus. This article comes from the shard string. You can understand a shard chain as a blockchain with almost the same complexity as the present Ethereum, but its operation must adhere to the consensus rules of Eth2 (that's, it should be controlled from the beacon chain). Verifiers from the beacon chain will undoubtedly be randomly designated short-term duties: build and verify blocks on a particular shard chain, offer cryptoeconomic guarantees for the state, availability and usefulness from the shard chain, and finally send back To the core system (shard chain). Currently, we be prepared to start 64 shard stores at startup, and the info availability of the entire network will achieve 1 to 4 MB per second (yes, this is a lot of information). Phase 1.5 Stage 1.5 is the consensus system that combines the Ethereum mainnet into Eth2 being a shard (it is constantly on the exist as one of the many shards developed in Phase 1). After that, the Ethereum blockchain that people know and like will no longer be supported by proof-of-work mining algorithm, but will undoubtedly be built by Eth2 validators. For existing applications and users, the hot switch of the consensus mechanism is actually transparent. The application form will persist, however the opener could have a stronger underlying system (much better security attributes, better economic finality, which means that the transaction could be reversed following a huge price is paid, that's, the huge amount of violation of the agreement Transaction certainty shielded by price), more Coating-1 data area, can assistance Rollup and other interesting applications). Related topics: Dry productsUIn-depth understanding of OVM (Positive Rollup): Compatible with EVM and Ethereum Level 2 growth plan Phase 2 Phase 2 must add condition and execution systems to various other shards other than the initial Ethereum shard. There are lots of methods which may be adopted, and figuring out various types and details may be the focus of current research and prototyping. I'll discuss this matter further in a later article. Eth2 will bring benefits to the Ethereum local community. So, we will achieve the aforementioned goals in the future, and Phase 0 is right in front of us, but the whole roadmap seems a little too long. Through the entire upgrade procedure, what advantages can we get from Eth2? good question. Overall, every action of the improve will touch the deeper primary from the Ethereum blockchain, so it will bring greater rigidity to the complete community. As being a user, it is possible to participate in the PoS block production in Stage 0, or it is possible to await the Ethereum blockchain to be fully built-into Eth2 (needless to say, this process should be seamless in the perspective of designers and users of). Regardless of how you elect to participate and that stage you begin to participate, these phases are essential milestones, plus they all have significant benefits. Among the first benefits is that I know that many folks are diehard ETH and can't wait to participate in PoS. Stage 0 is for you personally potential verifiers (and our PoS is certainly amateur-friendly)! Learning to be a validator in PoS offers its own dangers, and the period of staking money is also lengthy. These may dissuade some individuals, so I believe this stage can be an chance for both amateurs and long-term believers of Ethereum. Finally, there is this opportunity that you can enter the game early, help realize our vision, and get higher ETH rewards for participating previously. What about Stage 1? Prior to the integration of Ethereum into the Eth2 system, will there be any use for us to accommodate so much data? Needless to say it works, therefore glad you inquired! Even without native computing power, the data space on Level-1 is very useful. In fact, the most appealing Layer-2 extension system that has emerged before 12 months, known as the "rollup" part chain (that includes optimistic schemes and ZK strategies), is able to follow Layer-1 data Technologies that expands room availability and increases throughput. The data layer of Eth2 is usually expected to offer data option of 1 to 4 MB/s, which may be combined with rollup technology and transformed into massive scalability. But as the Ethereum main chain was disconnected from the brand new sharding universe at the beginning, it made statements about the eth2 shard data is difficult (making claims about the eth2 shard information is difficult). This is also one reason EIP 2537 is very important to the Ethereum mainnet: After the BLS (the brand new signature algorithm utilized by Eth2) can be pre-compiled for the Ethereum mainnet, we are able to write an efficient Eth2 light customer within the Solidity contract, allowing applications on the Ethereum main string (coming in Phase 1.5) Before) be able to declare information on Eth2. Related subjects: Column SightsUWhat really does the discovery of Ethereum Level 2 in 2020 mean? As stated above, Stage 1.5 is an important milestone; before that, Eth2 had been built for Ethereum; after that, Eth2 can be Ethereum itself. All programs will be built-into the upgraded Eth2 consensus mechanism, which not merely retains the functions we are utilized to, but also opens up a new world of secure equity proof algorithms and extremely scalable data layers. For me, this is actually the core of the entire upgrade procedure; its success implies that we have completely anchored Ethereum right into a new reality, which really is a historic moment. After that, turning on hawaii mechanism/execution system on other shard stores can gradually bring additional scalability benefits. The execution mechanism may be by means of EVM, or it may be a new virtual machine called eWASM. Regardless of the choice in the VM, the EVM shards formed by the initial Ethereum along with other shards can socialize and communicate through the beacon chain to form a multi-threaded and sharded system. did you see it? This is a long trip, but with blooms along the way. Related topics: What is the distinction between Ethereum 1.0 and 2.0? "17 FAQS" about Ethereum 2.0 The difficulty of Eth2's implementation and why it is worth it. A lot of core the different parts of the verifier's sharding structures rely on arbitrary sampling of consensus participants (ie verifiers), as well as the sampling constitutes a committee to confirm an integral part of the process (such as a shard chain) . As long as there are enough verifiers within the protocol, even though there's a largest attacker (for instance, controlling 1/3 of most verifiers), it really is almost impossible for your attacker to regulate a committee and damage the entire system ( The possibility is extremely little, and it must be determined with a little order of 1 1 / 2^40). This enables us to design the system (This allows us to create the machine) in order that a person with consumer-grade equipment (like a laptop or even an old mobile phone) may become a validator (as the validator Will undoubtedly be assigned to verify an integral part of the system, which area of the verification task could be finished with the computing sources of an ordinary machine). This is the magic from the sharding architecture and its difficulty. For one, we must have sufficient validators in order that random sampling will undoubtedly be safe: therefore the expected number of validators for Eth2 is much greater than most (I believe even all) other PoS protocols. This creates challenges at every step of the growth process-from research to technical information on the consensus mechanism, to networking strategies, to client source consumption and optimisation. Every step must consider this into consideration: each extra verifier will introduce a little more burden to the machine. The Eth2 client team has accomplished the impossible task of allowing hundreds of thousands of validators to participate in the consensus at the same time, so we are able to safely and efficiently join a lot of shards. Another basic style choice for many shards that makes our development extremely difficult is that we really want scalability without compromising decentralization. Unless you care whether users can confirm the integrity of the entire chain independently, or whether the data within the chain is available to the entire network, it is not difficult to increase the processing quickness of the blockchain to several thousand transactions per second. https://cybersucks.blogspot.com/ is that we need a fragmented consensus system that can separate the machine into several verifiable parts. Can you envisage how difficult it is to conceive and even implement such a consensus mechanism. Related subjects: Popular TechnologyUEthereum 2.0 Staking Guide : Sharded Consensus A creed of several client Ethereum is that Ethereum is first and foremost a couple of protocols. Ethereum is an abstract collection of many rules that make up the protocol, instead of some implementation of the rules. Thus, the Ethereum local community encouraged multiple customer implementations right from the start. Now there are besu, ethereumJS, geth, nthermind, nimbus, open-ethereum, trinity and turbo-geth so many client software can synchronize the Ethereum blockchain. Within the Eth2 side, we've various client software such as for example cortex, lighthouse, lodestar, nimbus, prysm, teku, and trinity. The multi-client paradigm offers many benefits: * Multiple client implementations can produce a wide range of ideas, algorithms, and architectures (each customer implementation will give its own sights and strategies). This kind of cross collision is very good, and in the long run we are able to all develop a lot more reliable software. * Different client software usually has different design goals. Then over time, customers and applications will become more diverse. Your client software will be developed pretty much around the subsequent goals: performance, protection, horizontal scalability, consumer experience, light customer, browser-friendly, resource conserving, etc. * If there are always a large number of client software obtainable in the production environment, a major strike may only trigger one client software to crash (for example, a DoS assault), while some other client software is still intact, and the destructive power of the attack is bound. . This is exactly what happened when we experienced the "Shanghai DoS Assault" in the first days of Ethereum: some DoS attacks could cause the geth client or the parity client to crash, nonetheless it never triggered both. * Each client is a portal to some programming language local community. A client in a particular language may be used as a foundation for introducing tests and innovations for the reason that language. Moreover, the essential tools surrounding your client usually snowball through the language's contributors and device ecosystem. The paradigm of multiple clients strengthens the selling point of Ethereum. Of course, we must pay some price because of this: * Technical specs and testing equipment must be impeccable in order to avoid accidental forks following the mainnet goes reside. If the process has only 1 implementation, after that that implementation will become the protocol itself. In cases like this, any "bug" in the consensus mechanism provides essentially end up being the agreement itself. From the purely neutral point of view, this may not really seem a good factor, but it will get rid of the risk of unintentional forks. As a solution, if there is a healthy submission of client usage in the synchronization main network (for example, no more than 1/3 of most nodes/validators are using the same customer), then your entire network can also be used on a particular client Stay in existence when consensus problems arise. * Compared with an individual client, N types of clients have to cooperate with one another and will expose additional work. A good work may be a burden of linear development, but sometimes it'll be a burden of quadratic growth. We can use some methods to reduce the burden-such as consensus system test suites (and network test suites)-but it is impossible to completely eliminate them. Current standing of Eth2 customer and testnet Phase 0's Eth2 customer has become very complex software in the past two years, and for that reason can handle distributed consensus processes among thousands of validators and a large number of nodes. We've a testnet, and we are moving towards the state launch each day. The so-called half-ninety individuals who travel 100 miles, facts have proved that it's true. I hope you may get out of your safe place and try a variety of clients during the time period before launch. They often times have trade-offs within their implementation, and you also have to do it yourself to find the software program that best suits you best. Moreover, to seriously reap the advantages of the Ethereum multi-client paradigm, we need users to use multiple customers (creating a healthy distribution of use among all sorts of customers). In addition, an anti-collusion motivation mechanism is built into the contract. In the extreme case where a particular mainstream client can make an accidental error that triggers the verifier by using this client to go offline or be fined, if your verifier also shows action relevance for the same client, you then may also be punished. It is much more serious than if you only make errors and have nothing in connection with other people. Quite simply, running a specific niche market client at the moment is better than running a customer that everyone is using. Make sure to think clearly-if there are multiple accessible and secure clients, it really is your responsibility to perform niche client software program and advertise the healthy distribution of client utilization across the network. The other stage is, avoid being embarrassed. If you make an error when running the software according to the documentation, please allow everyone know. Even if it is a spelling error, it is possible to send an adjustment request. If the program crashes or a bug pops up, please be sure to review it on github or the discord channel of the client. You are a beta consumer, sufficient reason for your help, we can make the client better, that is good for everyone. Testnet We have been currently running a small developer network, restarting every one to fourteen days. The reason I state "Developer System" is these testnets are mainly for the designers of the client team to get bugs and make optimizations. These networks are general public and we desired everyone to become listed on, but please note that these systems are not since durable because the Goerli or Rinkeby test networks. The latest testnet launched is the Witti testnet (initiated by Afri Schoedon), which operates the 0.11 edition of the specialized specifications. The client group is now hectic upgrading your client to edition 0.12 from the technical specifications, which integrates the latest IETF BLS standards. After implementation, we shall convert the developer network to version 0.12 and continue steadily to expand the level of the network to allow clients to bear more and more load. Whenever we have 2 to 3 3 types of clients that may successfully synchronize to the 0.12 programmer network and operate under high fill, we will create a more open test network to allow the community to participate more fully. Our goal here is to make a long-term multi-client check system, and simulate whenever you can the operating environment of the primary network that's not yet on-line (allowing users to apply how to operate nodes and test anything they would like to test). The perfect situation would be to start only 1 test network and troubleshoot faults while sustaining the network procedure. But in fact, we may restart or even open another test network multiple occasions depending on the location and intensity of the fault. As well as the regular test network, we will furthermore open an "attack system" with incentives: a well balanced test network will be run by the client team, and you will make an effort to disrupt the network. Successful attackers can obtain ETH benefits provided by the Ethereum Foundation. As stated above, tools are often born out of the client's code bottom and the growth work of your client team, however now increasing numbers of people are becoming involved. In order to better understand Eth2, interact with Eth2, and even protect and reinforce Eth2, our neighborhood needs to continue steadily to develop Eth2 equipment. Some teams and individuals have provided excellent value with their own Eth2 tools, and I wish to applaud them! I furthermore welcome everyone to build up new tools, forge ahead and consolidate results. Eth2 tools are a completely new field, a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to dig out pain points, provide worth, and stay alive. Below is a list of some work happening, but there's still a lot to do! * Block explorer: Beaconcha.in, Etherscan, Eth2stats * Network equipment: Prrkl, Rumor, Pyrum, Stethoscope * Budget and Keysotre: ethdo, down payment cli, EIP 2335 and other new standards * API style and prototype binding * Forfeiture detection device: Prysm "hash slinging slasher" also has some open tool topics: * Eth2 verifier alert: remind the appropriate node operator when the verifier's performance is not ideal * Validator deposit monitoring: Help the Eth2 obstruct explorer connect with Ethereum by monitoring the validator's deposit processing process * The usage of the verifier safety measures brought: use a proxy to monitor the verifier's messages and ensure that your client cannot deliver insecure messages. There are still many issues-and the introduction of tools is not limited by the areas already mentioned in the technical specifications . Creativity is the key. If you wish to contribute your personal strength, please contact the Eth2 customer team. The current state of Eth1+Eth2 integration In today's Ethereum client (such as for example Geth), all of the technical complexity can be brought about by user-level activities-transaction pool, block creation, virtual machine calculation, state storage space And retrieval. The core consensus mechanism-proof of work-is a relatively simple area of the agreement. Therefore, a lot of the complexity can be handled by complicated hardware beyond your core protocol. On the other hand, the Eth2 customer implementation is completely focused on the consensus system. In the proof-of-stake mechanism and sharding structures, plenty of complexity is usually endogenous to the protocol itself to experience a scalable consensus system. This difference allows Eth1 and Eth2 clients to form a beautiful pairing. The geth customer team under the Ethereum Foundation and the TXRX team of ConsenSys are doing preliminary work to merge the two. The work consists of: (1) Determine the communication process between Eth1 and Eth2 clients; (2) Put in a consensus engine that may be controlled with the communication protocol for Eth1 clients; (3) Prototype and simulate clients in Eth2 Phase 1 End habits to check coupling. We be prepared to see some concrete results this summer. You may get an overview from the Eth1 + Eth2 client relationship within this research post; the technical scope from the integration can be found here. The current study status from the execution mechanism as well as the cross-shard communication system is as defined above, the specific path to open the cross-shard execution perform is an area that is still under intense discussion and research. There are still many problems to be solved urgently. For example: * Just how many shard chains should allow execution function? * Aside from Eth1 sharding, do we need to use EVM or eWASM like a virtual machine? * How to effectively construct and process cross-shard transactions? * What changes have to be made on the prevailing EVM to aid cross-shard transactions? * Can/should the execution system and account construction be usually extensible? The eWASM group (under the Ethereum Foundation) as well as the Quilit team (of ConsenSys) did a lot of research in the past 12 months. The conclusion would be that the field of options is very broad, and although we have fully understood the breadth of the fields, the current focus would be to find easy and reliable solutions that enable us to test, prototype, and actually start discussions. Because of this, the Eth1by64 plan of the eWASM team was created (here's an overview of the project; there are also some technical specs under conversation). There has been rapid progress in translating abstract cross-shard transaction concepts into dependable technical specs (for dialogue and final prototyping). Please stay tuned, especially if you're a dApp creator. We intend to provide something you can understand and operate within the next couple of months, and we look forward to your feedback. The partnership between stateless Ethereum and Eth2 Another section of ??study and growth parallel to Eth2 is called "Stateless Ethereum". Stateless Ethereum research is to solve the issue of Ethereum's state data scale. The solution is to enable network individuals to confirm the validity of the block without keeping the entire Ethereum blockchain state locally. The existing Ethereum state changeover function implicitly needs the complete condition as input. The thought of ??stateless Ethereum is to include the witness of hawaii of the deal to be changed in the block. This makes hawaii transition procedure (also hawaii verification process) a functionality that only takes the obstruct itself being an input. For users, which means that it is possible to synchronize the blockchain and even monitor some of the states you value, but you won't need to store all of the state information. Some participants (such as for example block producers, prevent explorers, paid state service providers) may store all claims, but most individuals may not shop all states. For Eth2, statelessness can be an important technical system to make sure that nodes and verifiers can confirm and protect methods without the burden of storing all user claims of most shards. On the contrary, the verifier can selectively become the block manufacturer of particular shards, as well as the baseline verifier just verifies stateless blocks. Stateless Ethereum is a powerful complement to the Eth2 vision, since it can ensure that the foundation of the sharding protocol is still lightweight. On the other hand, although we plan to operate Eth2 statelessly, if the stateless path shows to be unworkable in the end, we have other ways (although Personally, i have a lot of self-confidence in statelessness ??). I will not really interpret the status quo of stateless Ethereum any more, as long as I know that is an fascinating parallel research field with the purpose of making sure the long-term sustainability of Ethereum. If you wish to learn more, please notice Griffin's The 1.x Documents series of blogs. Conclusion Eth2 is really a large-scale project to supply Ethereum with a far more advanced, next-generation, highly scalable, protected, and decentralized consensus mechanism. Many groups and countless folks are developing it night and day, hoping it will become a fact. The path we choose is usually difficult, but we've made tremendous progress and will continue to make progress. The core of this new consensus system (the beacon string) is around the corner. If you are a aspiring validator, now is the time to participate. Try a variety of customers, assistance multi-client paradigm, and help Ethereum 2.0 obtain rich client diversity as a base at the start! If you're a user or a dApp developer, make sure you continue to develop on the existing Ethereum, and we will continue to prepare a safer and more scalable operating atmosphere for you. When the time comes, the process of switching to Eth2 will undoubtedly be as smooth as you possibly can. Thank you to the teams and individuals who assisted Ethereum keep running and in good problem today; also thank everyone who ready for future years of Ethereum in Eth2; give thanks to all users and developers who made Ethereum stunning and amazing?? ??

Apostle and Martyr St. Andrew
Tumblr media
The Holy Apostle Andrew the First-Called was the first of the Apostles to follow Christ, and he later brought his own brother, the holy Apostle Peter, to Christ (John 1:35-42). The future apostle was from Bethsaida, and from his youth he turned with all his soul to God. He did not enter into marriage, and he worked with his brother as a fisherman. When the holy Prophet, Forerunner and Baptist John began to preach, Saint Andrew became his closest disciple. Declaring Christ to be the Lamb of God, Saint John the Baptist himself sent to Christ his own two disciples, the future Apostles Andrew and John the Theologian.
After the Descent of the Holy Spirit upon the Apostles, Saint Andrew went to the Eastern lands preaching the Word of God. He went through Asia Minor, Thrace, Macedonia, he reached the River Danube, went along the coast of the Black Sea, through Crimea, the Black Sea region and along the River Dniepr he climbed to the place where the city of Kiev now stands.
He stopped overnight on the hills of Kiev. Rising in the morning, he said to those disciples that were with him: “See these hills? Upon these hills shall shine forth the beneficence of God, and there will be a great city here, and God shall raise up many churches.” The apostle went up around the hills, blessed them and set up a cross. Having prayed, he went up even further along the Dniepr and reached a settlement of the Slavs, where Novgorod was built. From here the apostle went through the land of the Varangians towards Rome for preaching, and again he returned to Thrace, where in the small village of Byzantium, the future Constantinople, he founded the Church of Christ. The name of the holy Apostle Andrew links the mother, the Church of Constantinople, with her daughter, the Russian Church...continue reading
Archimandrite Saint Sebastian Dabovich of San Francisco
by Hieromonk Damascene
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Born to Serbian immigrants in San Francisco in 1863, Archimandrite Sebastian Dabovich has the distinction of being the first person born in the United States of America to be ordained as an Orthodox priest, [1] and also the first native-born American to be tonsured as an Orthodox monk. His greatest distinction, however, lies in the tremendous apostolic, pastoral, and literary work that he accomplished during the forty-eight years of his priestly ministry. Known as the “Father of Serbian Orthodoxy in America,” [2] he was responsible for the founding of several of the first Serbian churches in the New World. This, however, was only one part of his life’s work, for he tirelessly and zealously sought to spread the Orthodox Faith to all peoples, wherever he was called. He organized parish communities of Orthodox Christians of varied ethnic backgrounds; took part in the work of St. Alexis Toth of Wilkes-Barre to bring former Uniates more fully into the Orthodox ethos and way of life; and labored to bring Episcopalians into the saving enclosure of the Orthodox Church. He was an Orthodox apostle of universal significance.
Describing the vast scope of Fr. Sebastian’s missionary activity, Bishop Irinej (Dobrijevich) of the Serbian Orthodox Diocese of Australia and New Zealand has written: “Without any outside funding or organizational support, he carried the gospel of peace from country to country.... Concentrating much of his work in the United States, he ceaselessly traveled back and forth across the American continent, using every available mode of transportation—from stagecoach to railroad to foot. His wider ministry stretched from the Aleutian Peninsula of Alaska, to Russia and Japan, to small Balkan towns on the coasts of the Black and Adriatic Seas.
“By every report Sebastian Dabovich was not one to ask about jurisdictional or national affiliation before setting out on long journeys to minister to Orthodox Christians in mining communities, lumber camps, or far-distant towns or villages. He offered his pastoral services with a free hand to anyone who was in need. Just as he gave no thought to his own comforts as a youth, caring more for the needs of others than for his own concerns, Fr. Sebastian denied himself all worldly comforts of home, family, or earthly possessions, so that he could provide for the spiritual needs of the Russian, Serbian, Bulgarian, Greek, Syrian, or Arab Orthodox Christians who required his aid.” [3]
It is said that Fr. Sebastian baptized more people than any other Serbian priest of the Western Hemisphere. [4] St. Nikolai (Velimirovich) of Zhicha, Serbia, who buried Fr. Sebastian at the Zhicha Monastery when the latter reposed there in 1940, called him “a viceless man” and fittingly designated him “the greatest Serbian missionary of modern times.” [5]
Ten years after Fr. Sebastian’s repose, St. Nikolai wrote of him: “Here is a man who indebted all the Serbian race, especially all the Serbs and all the Serbian organizations in America. Should that man remain without a monument or any sign of honor on American soil? He does not need it. He did not wish it. All he wished to his last breath was the Kingdom of Heaven, which I believe he has obtained by the grace of his Lord. But his people need it; his posterity needs it. The Serbian people always cultivated the noble virtue of gratitude. Let them express their traditional gratitude to this remarkable Serbian—Father Sebastian Dabovich.” [6]
Today, nearly seven decades after his repose, Fr. Sebastian is being shown fitting honor and gratitude by the Serbian Orthodox Church both in the homeland and in the diaspora. With the blessing of Bishop Hrizostom of Zhicha and of Bishop Maxim of Western America, Fr. Sebastian’s remains have been unearthed from his grave in Zhicha Monastery in Serbia and are to be transferred to the St. Sava Church in Jackson, California: the first church founded by Fr. Sebastian, and the first Serbian Orthodox Church in the Western Hemisphere. On September 1 (n.s.), 2007, the Divine Liturgy will be celebrated in Jackson to mark this occasion, with numerous hierarchs and clergymen participating. The Liturgy will be followed by a memorial service for Fr. Sebastian, the interment of his remains in the St. Sava Church, and a talk on Fr. Sebastian’s life by the above-mentioned Bishop Irinej. In the eyes of many, these events are a step toward the Orthodox Church’s recognition of Fr. Sebastian as a saint. “Even now,” Bishop Irinej has written, “[Fr. Sebastian] is considered worthy of canonization among the Serbian people. May that day indeed come quickly! The epitaph on his tombstone at Zhicha Monastery reads most appropriately, ‘The First American Serbian Orthodox Apostle.’ Holy Apostle Sebastian, pray for us!” [7]
To commemorate the transfer of Fr. Sebastian’s remains to America, we are dedicating our 2008 Calendar to his memory. This Calendar presents photographs and descriptions of important people in Fr. Sebastian’s life and of churches which he either founded or served during the half-century of his pastoral ministry. A Life of Fr. Sebastian—the first full biography to appear in any language—is being published concurrently in our magazine, The Orthodox Word.
+ + +
As part of his missionary labors, Fr. Sebastian compiled one of the first English translations of the Divine Liturgy, and wrote and published, from his own meager means, some of the first English-language books of Orthodox catechism. Besides bearing witness to his missionary and pastoral zeal, Fr. Sebastian’s books also testify to his ardent love for Jesus Christ and His Church, to the depth of his knowledge of the Orthodox Faith, to his careful adherence to the teachings of the Church, to his literary and poetic gifts, and to his profound sense of spiritual beauty. A large portion of the books consists of sermons that he gave in the Russian Orthodox cathedral in San Francisco and in mission parishes on various feast days. These sermons reveal him as an inspired preacher whose words could soar to the heights and at the same time strike deeply the hearts of his listeners. Below we present one such sermon, which he published in his book Preaching in the Russian Church (San Francisco, 1899).

Concern for Their Faithfulness
11 Oh, that you would bear with me in a little folly—and indeed you do bear with me. 2 For I am jealous for you with godly jealousy. For I have betrothed you to one husband, that I may present you as a chaste virgin to Christ. 3 But I fear, lest somehow, as the serpent deceived Eve by his craftiness, so your minds may be corrupted from the [a]simplicity that is in Christ. 4 For if he who comes preaches another Jesus whom we have not preached, or if you receive a different spirit which you have not received, or a different gospel which you have not accepted—you may well put up with it!
Paul and False Apostles
5 For I consider that I am not at all inferior to the most eminent apostles. 6 Even though I am untrained in speech, yet I am not in knowledge. But we have [b]been thoroughly manifested among you in all things.

ok here’s that idea....
tents my fingers
okay
so like... vault boy, right?
stands to reason vault-tec as a company would want some bright-eyed, fresh-faced young boy to represent their entire brand and stand in the place where a cardboard cut out just wouldn’t be enough
someone to haul off to conventions where he can showcase their inventions and vault technology in the flesh, smiling and giving a thumbs up to uproarious applause once the seminar/showing is complete
and he’s just like. one of the scientists sons! he’s perfect, he’s young and impressionable and can easily be convinced to come live in the vault-tec HQ and not question a life of luxury with some teeny tiny restrictions... but as a kid having all his wants and desires fulfilled is a pretty sweet gig! those that will eventually leave instructions for the overseers can give him school lessons, no need to go to public school! those compiling recipes to serve in the vault cafeteria can cook for him! he can have all the giddyup buttercups he could ever want, all the toys and everything he could ever need
but there’s a problem with children... they’re pesky and they grow up, huh? so routine medical checkups (to make sure he is a happy, healthy boy!) turn into some small DNA samplings... which is okay, because mommy and daddy signed waivers when they agreed to work for vault-tec, it’s their fault for not reading the fine print :) and so cloning begins!
there’s a liddol problem tho, they can’t exactly have replicas of vault boy (who has been called that for so long, a few of the scientists have begun calling him “johnny sunshine” for a bit more of a humanizing moniker) running around the place... so they build another vault, a vault so seekrit that it’s not even on official records. they have people volunteer to go raise these fledgling young vault boys there, grooming them to take the place of johnny sunshine when he inevitably grows too old to be the face of the future. and since this is vault-tec we’re talking about, it definitely stands to reason there’s a lot of vt propaganda being shown to them as well as not a lot of social conditioning aside from... you know like pageant-esque training. smile! wave! vannah white the FUCK out of vault-tec products like your life depends on it! (because it DOES!)
this is called, at the behest of the people working in it, project sunshine.
project sunshine continues through the years, nurturing young johnnys and raising them properly - each has their own caretaker, and grows up in solitude, knowing nothing of the outside or anything apart from life in a vault. with no outside influences the young boys want for nothing, and have no questions as to anything going on above ground. from a scientific standpoint, they are healthy and happy, and vault-tec has an unlimited supply of mascots at their disposal.
in 2054, johnny sunshine is starting to get a little too old for his work at the ripe age of 17, and as per his contract is subjected to a number of “final” happenings. a less-than-lethal amount of blood is drawn and he is sent off to vault 111 to be cryogenically frozen. “it’s for liability’s sake,” they tell him, “so we can get your payment in order and set up you and your parents for your promised life of luxury!” but vault-tec, being vault-tec, has their fingers crossed behind their backs, and the original vault boy, johnny sunshine, at 17 years of age, is sent off to be frozen and never to be seen again. (his parents are dealt with too, as is the vault-tec way.)
another problem arises: the oldest clone is only 4 years old. and while cute as a button, he is ultimately useless for the job of being the face of vault-tec. so another idea comes to mind of the great scientists working there, and with the help of general atomics, a robobrain is sent to host the 4 year old’s great mind to be subjected to a year of experiments on memory recycling and rapid growth.
the robobrain is sustained by a flow of a portion of the blood og johnny had given, exposed to growth hormones and small amounts of radiation as well as an expedited curriculum of teachings intended for the young johnnys. the results surpassed expectations, and in that year the robobrain johnny had advanced as many as 7 years in just 365 days. had this brain still been inside the human it came from, he’d have been 11 years old. another victory for vault-tec!
with this process, the robobrain was no longer needed, and instead the baby johnnys were treated with this technique instead. not all of them turned out as well as they had hoped - a few did not stop aging regularly as the treatments waned off, and a few experienced irregular growths. these failures were moved to other cryogenic chambers installed in project sunshine’s vault itself to be kept for later experimentation.
by the year 2110, they had nearly perfected this process, but the cost of this project becomes an issue: going through caretakers and johnnys wasn’t cheap. what was a way that they could find a permanent solution to this frustrating problem?
the institute seems a promising lead, and with the DNA samples given(as well as an errant 15 year old johnny) the diligent, former CIT workers begin the process of forming the perfect johnny, an immortal vault boy. their efforts are admirable, and vault-tec is sent many iterations of various gen 1 synths dolled up as best as the institute can manage to keep the corporation happy. they program them to the best of their abilities, matching the mannerisms, personality, and even the voice of the boy they now were in possession of. johnny sunshine, vault boy, lives again, even though he’s a little stiff, a little mechanical, and not perfect... he’ll do for now.
years pass, human johnnys come and go, stuffed into storage and forgotten about. synth johnny gets makeovers and upgrades, and as updated versions of the synths roll out, vault-tec gets newer and improved versions of him.
in 2254, the institute annexes project sunshine’s vault to itself as part of the contract with vault-tec who as agreed, as part of the payment, to allow the institute to experiment on the johnnys and advance synth technology further.
in 2231, the final vault boy synth is produced. he is immaculate in every way, shape, and form, perpetually appearing 16. by this time, vault-tec has agreed with the institute to allow further advancements on his mental growth, but remains firm in the clause that he will be the face of the future. the institute agrees... but it’s at this point vault-tec can no longer afford the production or oversight of this last iteration, and he becomes the property of the institute in body alone. the sole rights to vault boy still belong to vault-tec, but the synth itself remains in possession of its creator.
no longer able to back their project, vault-tec returns to the cardboard cutouts and the lively, smiling face of vault-tec returns to paper signage alone. project sunshine is sealed indefinitely.
what ever happened to vault boy? the question on everyone’s lips gets hushed by the corporation, and soon enough, dies away.
until 2287, when a short power failure kicks on a generator. the process reboots many of the vault’s computers, including one keeping johnny sunshine, vault boy, in a stasis. he awakens in a small room with an open door, and a blinking terminal. his own likeness, in cartoon form, stares back at him, encouraging him to open the lone memo.
> Good morning, Sunshine! Today is the day that you will revitalize the face of Vault-Tec and show the world who you are, and all the wonderfulksdjlasdkjlwkle;sdfskgjkerjoifndnkns -
ERROR.
he thinks he’s human. he knows he’s vault boy. what he doesn’t know... is anything else.
> Reboot. ....Reboot complete.
> Hello, Vault Boy. Or should I say... Johnny Sunshine. Not everything is as it seems. Vault-Tec has a lot to answer for, but I can’t tell you everything here. Ask questions. Find the truth. Find me. - MB
somewhere in the commonwealth, armed with nothing more than the vault suit on his back, a bright-eyed boy searches for answers.

MIDI TO MP3,MIDI MP3 Converter,Convert MIDI TO MP3, MIDI TO MP3 Converter
Sound recordsdata are perfect to insert into PowerPoint for many uses. Magic Midi to MP3 Converter allows specifying customized conversion parameters to control the quality and http://www.magicaudiotools.com/magic-midi-to-mp3-converter size of the output. Whether or not you simply need a bunch of small-measurement MP3s to add as your telephone's ringtones or need the best-high quality traditional music to be stored within the lossless format, Magic Midi to MP3 Converter has options for you. A sound font. You should utilize any sound font on your favor, the sound high quality and elegance will rely on this font. For instance, download here the sound font file "FluidR3_GM.SF2" (use sfArk instrument from that web site to uncompress it), or download the sound font right here , or google it The size of the file "FluidR3_GM.SF2" is about 142 MB. Principally, they're instructional recordsdata that elaborate how the sound needs to be made when attached to a playback gadget or loaded into a particular software program that understands the best way to portray the data. This is the rationale why MIDI recordsdata are good for sharing musical knowledge between equivalent purposes. Right here now we have bought High 10 Mp3 to MIDI Converters, which incorporates Software program, Apps and Online Websites utilizing which you may also convert one audio format to some other audio format.
Tumblr media
A few applications try to convert MP3 and WAV information to MIDI, however can only accomplish that for single melody voices or instruments, and with very limited success. Techniques corresponding to vibrato or slides often cause the programs to make errors in determining pitches and rhythms. When attempting to analyze music where multiple notes are being played at the identical time by a number of devices (i.e. practically all music!) they make so many errors that they are really of no practical use.
Audacity is the most effective open source for converting MP3 information to MIDI format. It's obtainable for all platforms like Home windows , MAC , and Linux. Being an open source, it's the best within the enterprise for this conversion of MP3 to MIDI format. Windows platforms include Home windows XP, Vista, 7, eight and 10 whereas MAC platforms embrace MAC os X, 10.6 and later, and partial assist for Sierra.pyMIDI - Offers object oriented programmatic manipulation of MIDI streams. Utilizing this framework, you possibly can read MIDI recordsdata from disk, build new MIDI streams, process, or filter preexisting streams, and write your modifications again to disk. When you set up this bundle on a Linux platform with alsalib, you'll be able to reap the benefits of the ALSA kernel sequencer, which provides low latency scheduling and receiving of MIDI occasions. SWIG is required to compile the ALSA extension sequencer extension. Although OS-X and Home windows provide similar sequencer amenities, the present version of the API doesn't yet assist them. Some buggs are remaining in this bundle (for instance when trying to delete a track), it has not been updated since 2006. This package deal is by Giles Corridor. A sourceforge obtain.Probably any routine music listener would have come throughout an online audio converter and if so, I really feel honest to advise Apowersoft Free On-line Audio Converter. Targeted completely on aiding converting audio and video files, this online application accommodates a wealth of utilities together with video to video converter, video to audio converter, audio to audio converter and some other affiliated functions like video trim, video crop, video rotate, video effect, subtitle, audio bitrate setting, audio channels setting, audio sample price setting, and so on. Right here comes the tutorial.A quite simple to use youtube video converter. Can also convert complete playlists through the use of the "share" button in your playlist, after which copying that url to the program. Copying the link in your url bar won't work for playlists. Please go away a review when utilizing this software program. This software makes use of code of FFmpeg licensed beneath the LGPLv2.1.In actual fact, we extremely recommend Wondershare Video Converter for all of the professional audio conversion tasks. If you do not wish to lose the standard of the converted recordsdata and anticipate higher efficiency, this instrument is only for you. In comparison with different converters obtainable out there, this software comes with a 30X faster velocity. It can also be used as a media participant to get your movies edited. If you use Wondershare Video Converter Final, you may even compress the recordsdata very simply. For example, you can convert any MIDI to MP3 using this software.Akoff Music Composer is likely one of the finest instruments for transcribing music robotically. This program makes use of the complicated process of automatic music transcription. To create a MIDI sequence for a melody that's recorded in audio format, a musician should determine the velocity, the pitch, and period of every note that's performed. He has to report these parameters into a sequence of MIDI events.

AY2020/2021 Y3S1 Module Reviews
This sem went by quite quickly I would say. Good thing now is that there are no longer CS mods I am freeeeeeeeeee. Despite the other mods or faculties already requesting for in-person classes I still had a total of *drum roll please* one *crowd cheers* physical class per week.
Tbh i must say i adjusted too fast to online classes, sleeping in, skipping on lectures getting distracted from doing actual work wastign my time away in the name of selfcare distorted sense of time ive truly experienced it all. At least physical classes make me ykyk make good use of my time spent travelling, i mean at least be there not necessarily mentally but it helps kinda when you have friends around you all studying but nah now we just on our own in our beds doing jackshit.
Other than that I dont have anything else to add on so without further ado the

You are highly recommended to propose new ideas based on the review. Reviews should be done in a critical and rigorous manner.
Instead of doing the literature review, with approval from the lecturers, you may also choose to do a project. Please email a brief description of the project plan to the lecturers to get approval.
The Group Project will consist of two parts: (I) Group Project Presentation (15%) and (II) Group Project Final Report (15%). More detailed instructions and the guidelines for this course project will be announced later.
(Copied off the luminus module overview its surprisingly still open)
But yeah you get it, its your typical BT module. The module itself does quite a fair bit of refreshers incase you have forgotten your BT2K and 3K mods the basics of regressions, measurables (averages and statsy stuff - cant expect me tor mb class content help) but basically the barebones and then it dives into the world of machine learning we have a few deep neural network models CNN RNN etc etc. Its very interesting. I think I really like that the profs went the extra mile to compile the codes for us theres a lot of compiled codes per chapter so its the barebones implementation u just copy and paste and get it do what u want it to do simple as that. The code structure is p much the same whichever your case is anyway so its really resourceful not so much the you-code-yourself-cannot-tolerate-plagiarism thing going on in CS i mean i guess it forces u to think the computational thinking is the true takeaway in those. The first IA is very easy jsut copy and tweak the kind everyone would get full marks ish the second one is a class competition  hosted on Kaggle to get you to predict anomalies and you are ranked according to your accuracy against private test sets. I’ll be frank and say i did so badly in the rankings i was the bottom few. But i did kinda okay ish?? when i got my grades back so dont worry lmao theres the report thing u gotta write after the competition about what methods you used, and your justifications etc basically you explaining your process of finetuning your model to get the best accuracy.  The Lit Review portion of weightage is just a fancy term to coin a 5-6 pager reflections based on a research paper of your choice related to the content taught so e.g. use of CNN/ other NNs in anomaly detection under any context/industry better to reflect what you have learnt or describe your inputs on areas of improvments/ pointers that may have been overlooked in the research paper. Of course, more marks are awarded with more effort and this quite chill one you have all the time to do after the midterms since technically chapters after midterms are not tested. Frogot to mention, class part is graded even tho its not here there are quizes scattered across the weeks and you need to be present to submit all of them in time during like 5 mins of the lecture so unless you have a friend who to tell u theres pop quiz then i recommedn not to skip. personally i dont pay much attention in class as much as the announcment of the quiz i just rewatch lectures after.

There is no tutorials for this class just the lecture itself once per week held over zooms and recordings can be found on Luminus. Pace was okay. I get mixed reactions when it comes to the profs teaching but to me its fine, his baby cries sometimes in the background which is cute. Other than that at the start of the sem, he goes through some of the theory that you will need in this course such as the RDD and how it all comes together regarded hwo data are spliced and stored differently in Hadoop vs Spark. But we use Spark more since Spark is based off Hadoop and it helps in increasing the efficiency of data processing. To me a lot of it feels kind of like the aggregations used in MySQL or the streams part of CS2040. He provides base codes as well and we just change things from there. During the half way mark aka recess week theres one optional week to learn about data streams from Twitter. This ones not tested in the finals so i didnt pay much attention. You will need a developers account if you want to follow along the tutorial, which require some time for Twitter staffs to approve as well as your reasons for opening a dev account. Theres also some bit of AWS at the start of the sem as well, on using S3 etc but I didnt pay that much heed (Regret?) and since it is not compulsory for us to use AWS as cloud storage for the project and since we did not have to use it for the project we chose then.... But heads up about the project he will land you a final blow to tell you SURPRISE you have a project due near week 8ish that leaves you about a month to W13..... which everyone knows will be busy.... Come on he could have told us snice the start for us to prep. Its kind of a big scale project? From sourcing data to determining how you want to include the things that are taught over the weeks Id recommend for you guys to mental prep early bc it took very long for my group to decide on one topic to do. We all had our own ideas, and we were going to incorporate everything we decided, only to slowly slowly rule out one after another which again is a lot of wasted effort. I guess in the end its fine since he drags out the due date to some weeks after reading week 2/3 weeks later. So for that project you need to submit 1. project report 2. codes? 3. presentation recording.
He also allow for in person presentations durnig the final class nd may award you higher scores but he also assures us that people who do not present real time aka submit via recordings are not at too much a disadvantage he will be fair and stuff even tho hes very open to giving out scores (?) if that makes sense. Like he just want to see you progress and award you for the effort kind very chill prof. Go for the consults!! He will offer invaluable advice as to what he wants to see kind of guide u abit in case u losted and most importantly he will remember you exist AHHAHA. He throws extra credits for that too.
For the assignment its about 6 of them all spread across the content delivery with a few weeks in between and its not very hard (doesnt take you very long) just use the codes he realised tweak a bit then you submit the code either in pynb or doc. Submissions are not exactly graded for its correctness but rather just to ensure that you do your work? I think i had some issues and did not manage to upload in time he was nice about it to open the deadlines for me to submit and kept asking me not to worry about it nice accommodating understanding.
After the twitter optional class, he goes on into neural networks which ties in really well with my other module BT4012 a good refresher for each other. But the NN part more important since it will be the base of your project. Project question is up to you to decide for yourself the theme setting everything, as and whne after he release the project details he will ask for one pager to see your ideas and stuff so its a project proposal kind of thing, to see your project through from the start so good to start early about how you come up with your topic and what you have tried so you can include these experiences or findings in your final project report.
Other than that theres one exams which is the finals (bitch you thought) they dont tell you that in NUSMods. But the topics are fine i think in general the content is p manageable. This mod is fine.

For this mod we learnt the very basics of HTML CSS and Javascript keyword basics really just minimal syntax here and there for us to move on to the bulk of the content that uses nodejs npm to build a website the language is somewhat an addition to HTML/CSS and quite easy to play around with in terms of containers and getting it to do what you will it to. It can be slightly difficult to grasp from the get go but trust me you will get better over time. Apparently they teach this vuejs thing bc its easier? but for me at the start i felt going back to the conventional html css was much more easier but i guess its easier to do certain things in vuejs. You get to learn a bit about Waterfall and AGILE which are methodologies used in the workplace when it comes to having a framework to base a project on from the start ideation etc requirements gathering, to the development, continuous improvement and alignment and release of the final product etc etc. Some other things of note is that (disclaimer personal experience) despite this general consensus among us students that he is actually q chill and laidback as a prof.... please dont trust what you see. So for the final project which is to develop this web app for our chosen problems statement, tehre were other classmates who will consult him of their own volition like our group didnt know so we didnt.. but there are and he probably will be able to better gauge how ur group has improved over the trials that you faced compared to when you just show the final thing duirng the presentation in the last week. Other than that, we had this mini consult thing in class the week after submitting our mid sem project proposal but he didnt have much to say in fact none about our proposal. And not to be biased or anything but my groupmates and I didnt feel like theres any better that we could do? I mean we had like 40 over requirements analysis thats really overdoing it plus we made sure to detail the manual of our webapp very specifically in terms of every elemetn and what it does so our guide was pretty comprehensive. Yet when the grades from luminus was in it didnt feel like it matched the effort we put in? I had more grievances about him not telling us where we could improve on when he gave us such a underperforming (below average) score.. Other than that jiayou seems like he likes very hitech kind of stuff the other groups used APIs with inbuilt zoom functionalities (Crazy i know... for the amount of content he covered.... which is very minimal) and thtt kind of adds on to his overbearing expectations for our cohort compared to what was taught. and like he likes very innovative stuff so good luck on that..... For our sem despite already being in our 3rd year of covid, so many of the other groups perhaps (90%) had problem statements revolving around covid LIKEEEE yoo dont we all have adapted enough but anyway might also be that our problem was not based on covid..... that we kind of lost marks to man idk. But anyway i think our ui is decent and in general we all worked hard on this give in our all its just a bit sad la har.
P.S. side note i actually finished up this portion but forgot to save it and when i came back its gone....
P.S.S PLEASE APPEAR FOR THE QUIZZES COS EVERYONE WILL FULL MARK THAT DONT BE LIKE ME i missed by a few minutes he didnt bother re-opening it for me.... had like 2 grades difference with my project mate....and the quizes are damn ezpz plus even if dk.... if i can do u cfm can... can google and is like those damn simple google questions they also got give ans i think he also google for the questions cut and paste

Omg guys.... i hate every single module put out by c*lc.... censoring in case someone comes for my head.... its a pattern..... Ok time for me to go in depth.
Cant remember but for my sem its about 7 recitations starting week 3, somewhere nearing the recess week theres a break for 2 weeks ish then 3 more recits after. Guys.... why does this mod even exist...
Okay so basically for lecture can pretty much skip unless like you are really into the hierarchies and stuff of how IT roles work in the workplace CXOs all that but like really no interest. but Then sometimes theres pop quizes so if u can find a friend that is ncie enough to tell u theres quiz that week then thats nice.. but i just open it usually and just wait for 730pm (usually thats when he puts out the link for the survey) and this goes to your no3 in lecture survey participation.  He talks about history of leadership and stuff like that very dry and thw way he talks also is very dry. There are weekly quizes in mcq form on luminus for this but can just ctrl f the slides for the answers and if u get wrong u can just put in the correct answer on ur next try. So go get full marks for this. The part where it is the most dreadful is the recitations. I have nothing against olb but the recitations omg.
Recitations are physical btw i think 2 of them are graded pitches, one is sometime before recess week i think maybe w5? then the last one for the project pitch nearing the end. Okay first few recits are fine basically every week u go to school for 3 hours and prior to the class u got to prep some presentation at the first few will be your takeaways from the links they provided then after which is some group presentations to teach the class about what u have learnt from links... which is damn stupid if u think about it. if u can learn about communication just by reading links wow sugoi amazing bravo spectacular daebak phenomenal and like some of the classes we just sit in 3 hours to read SOME links to soem fot heir chosen articles.. man we pay 800 for this.... to read LINKS to learn about comms..... and we also prep our slides according to what we learnt from the links split across the groups so like uh... but this is compulsory so bobian got to suck thumb and those more serious presentations were roleplays.. role play that u are getting hired for an interview and in that interview u are presenting to ur hirers how you will communicate with your to-be subordinates ??? which is very? to me like which interview will make u go roleplay being a leader like uhh and the way they kept drilling us to include personal stories to make it more relatable its very.... sometimes its not very appropriate la i would say... take for example u first time leading a team somehow have to have past experience to share?? either that or u have to forcefully weave in some grandmother story that is kind of unrelated just to bag that scores for audience centricness in terms of relatability? theres one even weirder prompt which was giving a 5 min pitch about one abstract item which can be anything so they dont shwo u and on that day they flash an image on the spot and ur group has like 10 mins to prepare how u plan to pitch that to ur audience but alos in a way that is not very venture capitalistic.. think shark tank thats the opposite of what they want... even now idk what they want.... and sorry lor ppl like me not much story sia... much less sth that fits those absurd prompts that is like 2000% unrealistic asked my parents nad there were like WHAT did they make u do now
tldr very bad experience 2000/10 do not recommend anyways u know who bitched about this during the mod reviews so yup apparently they had went through a few revamps and lesser in person recits from previous.... it used ot be much more time consuming but it is still p time consuming now..... and for naught....

I know you here bc there aint many reviews for this out there except for the one on nusmods probs so sit tight. First the schedule. Across the weeks, 1 group will present and other groups (about 3 groups of 4-5 ea per timeslot) will be the audience for each tutorial timeslot. Fixed groups for that particualr timeslot which makes sense. Theres a total of 4 case studies that each group will need to present. It gets incredibly harder partially because of the cases getting more grandeur in nature, the scopes of which to think about, as well as content covered in lectures. Content is q interesting. Lectures will cover the content you need but its also on you to think of novel ways... take on novel mindsets in approaching those business problems. more of a thinking class than anything else rather than presenting the msot generic solution which ofc will fare u not so well. Cant just present something based on your the most common knowledge (As though youve never taken the mod ebfore) but if you have determined groupmates that will be nice.. We spend more time in our own groups on our own time to discuss the case studies, debate our points, draft up solutions refining them, thinking of how people can fault our solutions and countering those potential pitholes to have an all-bases-covered holistic solution that would be the best. So after u are done presenting the other teams will start their Q&A which is usually a anal battle of any problems ur solution might have or like understanding the rationale in comparison to say another viable alternative... resources constraints and other factors.. Q&A participation is graded btw haha so every member needs to ask like at least one question not the clarifying content kinds but actually contribute to the discussion in terms of making everyone all think as well. its a very refreshing move tbh. after which the audiences will fill up this questionaire to rate your groups presentation, q&a skills and give their comments this too is graded. oh and if u are not presenting that week u will also need to answer like 2 brief questions on the case study to make sure u have read through and are prepared for the discussion prior to attending the tutorial. for the presenting group only need to prep the presentation u confirm need to read the material... oh ya and the case study need to ownself buy one.... he wont provide our sem one person buys each weeks case study and distributes to everyone and we all pay like a few cents. cant rmb but about $5 per issue so one copy for ten weeks ish and the cost split across all the students. Final exam is 2 case studies, one of which is one of the case studies you have seen and the other isnt, questions are long answer type can write as much as you want on luminus quiz. final case will be the same for all groups aka Case H and that one the scope also quite huge la ofc... and at the start presentations go from 10mins.,. the next few to 20 mins ish all that to prep for the final one which can go up to 1h ish confirm by that time a lot of things to input about so have to be selective and choose the points wiht higher priority? yee thats about it. i know nusmods review person said v fluff v low workload but no eh my group spent a lot of time in prep work discussing non stop revisting points made and revising our slides even up till the very end we spent a lot of time on it la which we were rewarded for bc of the quality in terms of depth research and ensuring few vulnerabilities for attacks by the audiecne (having substantial counters for those) i suppose

Specifications for Radeon RX 7700 XT and RX 7600 XT
Tumblr media
AMD's next generation game-oriented graphics card with RDNA 3 architecture is planned for the second half of 2022. The company's patent reveals that a chiplet-based design for graphics processors is under development, which may be relevant already for RDNA 3. The data circulating around the Navi 31 circuit speaks of both a Multi-Chip Modulessolution (MCM) and 15 360 stream processors. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iA7s8_WuLkM Specifications are now also reported for Navi 32 and Navi 33, which are relevant for what is assumed to be the Radeon RX 7700 XT and Radeon RX 7600 XT, respectively. The figures are compiled from a number of different delicacies and are not entirely improbable, but should be taken with a pinch of salt. The next generation is still at a relatively early stage, which means that most numbers, even if they are correct, can change before launch. Specifications for Radeon RX 7700 XT and RX 7600 XT Product nameRX 7700 XTRX 6700 XTRX 7600 XTRX 6600 XTDistrict nameNavi 32Navi 22Navi 33Navi 23Processnod5 nm/6 nm7 nm6 nm7 nmCircuit typeMCMMonolithicMonolithicMonolithicKernels10 2402 5605 1202 048Memory bus192-bit192-bit128-bit128-bitInfinity Cache384 MB96 MB256 MB32 MBTBP300 W230 W200 W160 W (Names and specifications are speculative and based on rumors.) According to the information, Navi 32 looks like Navi 31 is based on one chiplet-design with several smaller circuits on a substrate. Navi 32 replaces Navi 22 and quadruples the number of cores, from 2,560 to 10,240. With current pricing, it is difficult to say that graphics cards like the RX 6700 XT belong to an intermediate segment, but the RX 7700 XT seems to be moving even further away from it. Possibly the specification may refer to an RX 7800 XT rather than the RX 7700 XT. Infinity Cache looks up from 96 to 384 MB, but the memory bus remains at 192 bits. Unlike its two larger siblings, the Navi 33 retains the same monolithic circuit type as before. Compared to Navi 22, this is a little more than twice as many cores, 5,120 instead of 2,048. The RX 7600 XT is also the same 128-bit memory bus as its predecessor, the RX 6600 XT. However, the unchanged memory bus is offset by an eightfold increase in Infinity Cache, which goes from 32 MB to 256 MB. If the figures are correct, it is a real step up in performance for all products, at least on paper. Just as with the Navi 31, the same width of the memory bus remains as the current generation graphics card has, which could be somewhat narrow. It remains to be seen how well the properly increased amount of Infinity Cache will compensate for that. It should be noted, however, that no specifications have been confirmed by AMD at present and thus may change a lot during the remaining year. RX 7700 XT Faster Than The 6900 Xt For 500 Dollars  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VdYnm830f7M RDNA 3 could revolutionize the mid-range: Possible specifications of the Radeon RX 7700 XT and RX 7600 XT The RDNA 3 architecture will give life to the Radeon 7900 XT RX, RX Radeon 7800 XT and Radeon RX 7800, and will also be present in the Radeon 7700 XT and Radeon RX 7600 RX XT. According to the latest information that I have been able to read, AMD will make the leap to an MCM design, but with nuances , since it will maintain, in theory, a monolithic core design in the Radeon RX 7600 XT and lower. I know what you are thinking, why would AMD do such a thing?Well, very simple, to maximize the value of an MCM design by limiting it only to those graphics solutions with such a high shader count that, in short, it is not economically viable under a monolithic core design. Our more advanced readers will already know what I mean, when you transfer the design of a chip to the wafer, it has certain chances of success that depend, among other factors, on: - How advanced, and mature, is the process used. - The complexity of the chip. - The minimum number of functional elements that each chip must have. This means that moving a chip with 15,360 shaders to the wafer will be much more complex, and expensive , than bringing a chip with 7,680 shaders to the wafer. In the first case, you are more likely to get a high number of non-functional chips, that is, of GPUs that do not come out with all those shaders running smoothly. That would, in theory, be the shader count of the Radeon RX 7900 XT . Under a monolithic core design, we could only fall back on that chip option with 15,360 shaders, and it would be very difficult to achieve a high success rate on the wafer. In contrast, with an MCM design, we could combine two 7,680 shader chips to create a 15,360 shader GPU , keeping a lower cost on the wafer due to the greater simplicity of that chip, which will translate into more functional units per wafer. In graphics cards with a lower shader count, such as the mid-range and low-end, the MCM model would not have as much weight, since the chips needed to manufacture them would be perfectly viable, both economically and technically, under a monolithic core design. . This helps us understand why the Radeon RX 7700 XT would have an MCM design, while the Radeon RX 7600 XT will retain a monolithic core GPU. Navi 31 GPU Concept Diagram Navi 31 GPU Concept Diagram Possible specifications of the Radeon RX 7700 XT and Radeon RX 7600 XT Now that we have a clear distinction between MCM and monolithic core design, it is the perfect time to review the possible specifications of the Radeon RX 7700 XT and Radeon RX 7600 XT from AMD. The first will be a mid-range graphics card based on the Navi 32 graphics core , and will use an MCM architecture, while the second will be a mid-range graphics card based on the Navi 33 chip , and will maintain a monolithic core architecture. . Both will be manufactured in the 5nm process, although the possibility that AMD will use the 6nm process to free up TSMC a bit is not ruled out. The Radeon RX 7700 XT will feature: - MCM architecture at 5 nm / 6 nm. - Two interconnected GPUs, each chip will have 5,120 shaders, which leaves us 10,240 shaders in total. - 160 CUs (computing units, 80 for each chip). - 160 ray tracing acceleration units, if AMD keeps the base we have seen in RDNA 2. - 192-bit bus. - 384 MB infinite cache. - GDDR6 memory (quantity and speed not specified). - TBP (Total Board Consumption) of about 300 watts Navi 32 GPU Diagram For its part, the Radeon RX 7600 XT would have a much more modest configuration, although if the specifications that we are going to see are met, there is no doubt that it would be very powerful , even for a mid-range model. These are its keys: - Monolithic core architecture in 5 nm / 6 nm. - GPU con 5.120 shaders. - 80 CUs (computer units). - 80 units of ray tracing acceleration, if AMD keeps the base that we have seen in RDNA 2. - 128-bit bus. - 384 MB infinite cache. - GDDR6 memory (quantity and speed not specified). - TBP (Total Board Consumption) of about 200 watts. Although some rumors are beginning to say that the first graphics cards based on the RDNA 3 architecture will arrive later this year, I think it clearly does not make any sense. This is a date that is practically around the corner, and AMD just introduced the Radeon RX 6600 XT . Ignore these information, it is most likely that the first graphics cards based on RDNA 3 will arrive from the second half of 2022 , and that the Radeon RX 7700 XT and RX 7600 XT will debut between the end of that year and the beginning of the next. GIMP for Unix-like systems
If available, the official package from your Unix-like distribution is the recommended method of installing GIMP!
The flatpak build is new and has known limitations, though it will likely provide faster updates, following GIMP releases closely. Therefore choose your installation medium according to your needs.
Tumblr media
Flatpak build available in: i386, x86-64, ARM and AArch64.
Flatpak additional instructions
The flatpak link above should open your software installer and prompt you to install GIMP. Yet it may not work out-of-the-box on some platforms since the flatpak technology is new. If that is the case, ensure flatpak is installed and if clicking the link still does not prompt to install GIMP, then manually install by command line:
flatpak install https://flathub.org/repo/appstream/org.gimp.GIMP.flatpakref
Once installed, it will be made available exactly the same way as other applications (menus, desktop overview, or any specific application launch process used by your desktop). If this is not the case, we suggest to report a bug to your desktop or distribution asking for proper support of flatpak. In the meantime, you can still run it by command line (not as the recommended method, only a workaround):
flatpak run org.gimp.GIMP//stable
This installation will also provide regular update. You don't have to come back on this page and install again (it will not work!) when a new version of GIMP is released. Instead if your distribution and/or desktop has a good support for flatpak, it should propose to perform updates. Once again, if your distribution does not have proper support, you can always fall back to using the following command line:
flatpak update
Systems without flatpak support
GIMP can also run on Solaris and is available for the BSD family of systems such as FreeBSD and OpenBSD.
Please refer to the documentation for your Unix-like system on the installation of software.
GIMP for macOS
Note: the currently available package provides GIMP 2.10.14 and has not yet updated to the latest version, GIMP 2.10.22. We're working on that, please check back later.
The download links above will attempt to download GIMP from one of our trusted mirror servers. If the mirrors do not work or you would rather download directly from our server, you can get the direct download here.
Supported OS: macOS 10.9 Mavericks or over
Since the 2.8.2 version, GIMP runs on OSX natively. No X11 environment is required.
Native build
The official GIMP 2.10 DMG installer (linked above) is a stock GIMP build without any add-ons. Just open the downloaded DMG and drag and drop GIMP into your 'Applications' folder.
The SHA256 hash sum for gimp-2.10.14-x86_64-1.dmg is: 52654d85f894834f6c134c724beff3eddf212a1bda317299314322cfeff97e52

Previous installers for OSX can be found here: download.gimp.org.
Macports
An easy way to compile and install GIMP and other great Free software on your Mac is by using Macports. The installer allows you to choose from a large directory of packages. To install gimp using Macports, you simply do sudo port install gimp once you have Macports installed.
Last we checked, the GIMP port file pointed to the current stable release and we have reports from people who've built GIMP successfully this way.
Homebrew
Homebrew is similar to Macports and provides packages (aka formulas) to install, either by compiling them from source or by using pre-made binaries. There are indications that there is now a formula for GIMP, installable with: brew tap homebrew/cask && brew cask install gimp.
NOTE! Please be aware that it was announced recently that Homebrew is using analytics. To turn this off in homebrew then run: brew analytics off You can read more about this on Brew Analytics.
Fink
Fink is a package repository that offer mostly precompiled binaries. It provides the apt-get command known to e.g. Debian and Ubuntu users, and installing GIMP is as easy as sudo apt-get install gimp once you have installed the Fink installer. If there's no binary package, then fink install gimp will compile GIMP from source.

GIMP for Unix-like systems
If available, the official package from your Unix-like distribution is the recommended method of installing GIMP!
The flatpak build is new and has known limitations, though it will likely provide faster updates, following GIMP releases closely. Therefore choose your installation medium according to your needs.

Macports
Tumblr media
Disclaimer: we haven't been able to determine if it is possible to install or build recent GIMP from Fink. Last we checked, GIMP 2.6.12 appears to be the most recent GIMP package that is offered there.

A SMAPI mod uses the SMAPI modding API to extend the game logic. The mod can respond when something happens in the game (like when an object is placed in the world), run code periodically (like once per update tick), change the game’s assets and data, etc. SMAPI mods are written in C# using the .NET Framework, and Stardew Valley uses XNA/MonoGame for the game logic (drawing to the screen, user input, etc).
Why do mods use SMAPI?
SMAPI does a lot for you! For example, SMAPI will…
Load your mod into the game. Code mods aren’t possible without SMAPI to load them.
Provide APIs and events which let you interact with the game in ways you otherwise couldn’t. There are simplified APIs for game asset/data changes, player configuration, translation, reflection, etc. These are covered later in the guide.
Rewrite your mod for crossplatform compatibility when it’s loaded. That lets you write mod code without worrying about the differences between the Linux/Mac/Windows versions of the game.
Rewrite your mod to update it. SMAPI detects and fixes mod code broken by a game update in common cases.
Intercept errors. If your mod crashes or causes an error, SMAPI will intercept the error, show the error details in the console window, and in most cases automatically recover the game. This means your mod won’t accidentally crash the game, and it makes it much easier to troubleshoot errors.
Provide update checks. SMAPI automatically alerts players when a new version of your mod is available.
Provide compatibility checks. SMAPI automatically detects when your mod is incompatible and disables it before it causes problems, so players aren’t left with broken games.
Can I make a mod?
Yes! This guide will help you create a simple mod step-by-step. If you follow along, you’ll have created a mod! Then you’ll just need to make it do what you want.
If you’re new to programming: many mod developers start with little or no programming experience. You can certainly learn along the way if you’re determined, but you should be prepared for a steep learning curve. Don’t be too ambitious at first; it’s better to start with a small mod when you’re figuring it out. It’s easy to become overwhelmed at first and give up. The modding community is very welcoming, so don’t be afraid to ask questions!
Tumblr media
If you already have programming experience, you should be fine. Programming experience in C# or Java will make things easier, but it isn’t critical. If you’re unfamiliar with C#, you can skim through the Learning C# references below to fill in any gaps.
Can I make a mod without SMAPI?
Yep. Many SMAPI mods support ‘content packs’, which let you provide JSON text files, images, etc which they use. For example, you can use Content Patcher to edit the game’s images and data with zero programming needed. The rest of this guide is about creating a new SMAPI mod; for content packs, see the documentation for the mod that’ll read it.
Where can I get help?
The Stardew Valley modding community is very welcoming. Feel free to ask for help in #modding on the Stardew Valley Discord.
Get started
Learn C#
Since mods are written in C#, it’s a good idea to get acquainted with it first. You don’t need to memorise everything, but a grasp of the basics (like fields, methods, variables, and classes) will make everything else much easier.
Some useful resources:
C# Quickstarts teaches the basics of C# with interactive examples.
C# Fundamentals for Absolute Beginners is a video guide which will walk you through C#, from the basic concepts to event-driven programming (which is what SMAPI mods mostly use).
Requirements
Before you start:
Read the Player Guide. The rest of this guide assumes you’re already familiar with using mods.
Install Stardew Valley.
Install SMAPI.
Install the IDE (integrated development environment).
On Linux: install MonoDevelop.
On Mac: install Visual Studio 2017 for Mac. (This is a rebranded MonoDevelop.)
On Windows: install Visual Studio 2017 Community. When the installer asks about workloads, enable .NET Desktop Development.
If you’re not familiar with Visual Studio 2017 (on Windows/Mac) or MonoDevelop (on Linux), Modding:IDE reference explains how to do the important stuff you need for this guide.
Create the project
A SMAPI mod is a compiled library (DLL) with an entry method that gets called by SMAPI, so let’s set that up.
Open Visual Studio 2017 or MonoDevelop.
Create a solution with a .NET Framework class library project (see how to create a project). Make sure you choose .NET Framework, not .NET Core or .NET Standard.
Change the target framework to .NET Framework 4.5, 4.5.1, or 4.5.2 for best compatibility (see how to change target framework).
Reference the Pathoschild.Stardew.ModBuildConfig NuGet package (see how to add the package).
Restart Visual Studio/MonoDevelop after installing the package.
Add the code
Next let’s add some code SMAPI will run.
Delete the Class1.cs or MyClass.cs file.
Add a C# class file called ModEntry.cs to your project.
Put this code in the file (replace YourProjectName with the name of your project):
Here’s a breakdown of what that code is doing:
using X; (see using directive) makes classes in that namespace available in your code.
namespace YourProjectName (see namespace keyword) defines the scope for your mod code. Don’t worry about this when you’re starting out, Visual Studio or MonoDevelop will add it automatically when you add a file.
public class ModEntry : Mod (see class keyword) creates your mod’s main class, and subclasses SMAPI’s Mod class. SMAPI will detect your Mod subclass automatically, and Mod gives you access to SMAPI’s APIs.
public override void Entry(IModHelper helper) is the method SMAPI will call when your mod is loaded into the game. The helper provides convenient access to many of SMAPI’s APIs.
helper.Events.Input.ButtonPressed += this.OnButtonPressed; adds an ‘event handler’ (i.e. a method to call) when the button-pressed event happens. In other words, when a button is pressed (the helper.Events.Input.ButtonPressed event), SMAPI will call your this.OnButtonPressed method. See events in the SMAPI reference for more info.
Add your manifest
The mod manifest tells SMAPI about your mod.
Add a file named manifest.json to your project.
Paste this code into the file:
Replace the <...> placeholders with the correct info. Don’t leave any <> symbols!
This will be listed in the console output when the game is launching. For more info, see the manifest docs.
Try your mod
Build the project. If you did the create the project steps correctly, this will automatically add your mod to the game’s Mods folder.
Run the game through SMAPI.
The mod so far will just send a message to the console window whenever you press a key in the game.
Troubleshoot
If the tutorial mod doesn’t work…
Review the above steps to make sure you didn’t skip something.
Check for error messages which may explain why it’s not working:
In Visual Studio, click Build > Rebuild Solution and check the Output pane or Error list.
In MonoDevelop, click Build > Rebuild All and wait until it’s done. Then click the “Build: XX errors, XX warnings” bar at the top, and check the XX Errors and Build Output tabs.
See the troubleshooting guide.
If all else fails, come ask for help in the #modding in the Stardew Valley Discord.
Go further
SMAPI APIs
SMAPI provides a set of APIs you can use to do more. See SMAPI reference for more info.
Crossplatform support
SMAPI will automatically adjust your mod so it works on Linux, Mac, and Windows. However, there are a few things you should do to avoid problems:
Use the crossplatform build config package to automatically set up your project references. This makes crossplatform compatibility easier and lets your code compile on any platform. (If you followed the above guide, you already have this.)
Use Path.Combine to build file paths, don’t hardcode path separators since they won’t work on all platforms.
Use Helper.DirectoryPath, don’t try to determine the mod path yourself.
Decompile the game code
When you start working on more complex mods, you may need to look at how the game code works.
To decompile the game code so you can read it (though it won’t be fully functional due to decompiler limitations):
On Windows:
Open StardewValley.exe in dotPeek.
Right-click on Stardew Valley and choose Export to Project. Accept the default options to create a decompiled project you can open in Visual Studio.
On Linux/Mac:
Open StardewValley.exe in MonoDevelop through File > Open.
Change Language from Summary to C#.
To unpack the XNB data/image files, see Modding:Editing XNB files.

GIMP for Unix-like systems
If available, the official package from your Unix-like distribution is the recommended method of installing GIMP!
The flatpak build is new and has known limitations, though it will likely provide faster updates, following GIMP releases closely. Therefore choose your installation medium according to your needs.

Before I dive right in I want to mention that it’s extremely important to use a VPN when browsing and downloading torrents or books from websites. A VPN can help mask your identity, location and more. NordVPN (ref link with coupon) is solid. Your privacy is important. Save yourself the headache of potentially dealing with legal repercussions later on down the road.
They have a couple of different options if you are interested:

Without Library Genesis I’m not sure I would have made it through university. Thank you to Reddit for showing me the light.
Library Genesis pretty much has every single book known to man and it provides it all to you at your fingertips.
At first, it’s easy to be apprehensive about using library genesis because it looks like something you probably should not trust.
How to get free college textbooks
I first started using Library Genesis in College to get textbooks I would barely ever use. Textbooks were expensive and I could not justify the hassle of paying for them at the time when I knew every read I could possibly imagine was on the internet.
They may not have the most recent version of your college textbook but it should be able to get the job done for you.
Library Genesis can be a bit weird when it comes to downloading actual torrents. They don’t always have enough peers but it does seem that the direct downloads almost always work. Make sure you have proper security measures set up on your computer before downloading just in case. I have been using it for almost 5 years without any issues.
Library Genesis is great for finding an obscure pdf of your college textbook or other books most large torrent sites do not have.
I find that I end up just checking Library Genesis before any other source.
Once you find your books make sure you use something like Calibre, an open source project to manage your ebook library. It has options to help you go mobile like Calibre Companion.
Zlibrary is very similar to library Genesis with a much nicer user interface.
The site works extremely well and can provide you with all of your book downloading needs. the only difference here is that you need to make an account.
They allow you to download up to 10 books daily with a free account and are supported off of a donation system to raise your downloading limits. It’s a worthy cause to support in my opinion.
The only real downside is that they don’t have torrents and it’s only direct downloads. This actually makes the process much smoother and you end up happy as can be.
Pirate Bay was my first love and will always have a place in my heart. It all started back when I was 14 I became a hardened internet criminal pirating movies just because I could. The Pirate Bay was and still is the place to be when it comes to finding books and other types of torrents online.
You can easily search any title on there and you will be able to find almost any type of file you can possibly imagine.
There are so many people on Pirate Bay that the Top 100 ebooks page is basically a “best seller”/”Best stolen” list.
If you are looking for Manga, Comics or Graphic novels there are numerous top 100 pages for you to also browse through.
This is always a great choice when looking for popular ebooks. Having the ability to use a magnet link helps keep you safer as someone who is downloading a lot of links so make sure to use this benefit when using The Pirate Bay.
The rest of the list is where I enter the territory of “maybe I’ll just buy the book or maybe I won’t read it because no one cares about it enough to torrent it”.
The Image at the top of this post was the homepage of the Pirate Bay when the domain registrars were trying to take them down. This was a very cool response by them.
Kickass Torrents is a great backup to The Pirate Bay when looking for a book. Most of the time they will just have the same options but sometimes you can get lucky and find exactly what you are looking for that you could not find anywhere else.
They have gone downhill quite a bit probably from getting shut down and other random things.
Make sure to use magnet links to help protect yourself when using Kickass and always read the ratings. This goes without saying for any Torrent site honestly. If there aren’t numerous people thanking the uploader in the comments it can seem a bit fishy. But sometimes this social proof can be manufactured so be careful. It just comes with the territory of downloading things you probably shouldn’t be on the internet.
Torrentz
Download android apps on chromebook. Torrentz is the main Torrentz search engine that I use when looking for books when I’m willing to hunt a file a down.
This is truly your last resort. If you can’t find it here you should probably just stop and do a direct download from Library Genesis.
Conclusion

I’m sure you can guess what I am going to tell you next. Yes, use Library Genesis, Zlibrary, The Pirate Bay, Kickass then give up in that order.
If you are looking for something more specific for instance reading comics online. We went through all the best ways to read those too!

Here is a list of the best way to download audiobooks for free.
When starting to look for audiobooks different sites have different pros and cons. It’s important to know which ones are the safest fastest and most efficient.
Below is a table of some favorite options
Audiobooks.com is the best for audiobooks. There is no question. They outperform Audible by a mile and have everything you could possibly need when audiobookbay doesn’t have what you are looking for.
We love using Audiobook Bay but at a certain point, the amount of money for the quality cloud service to access it on all my devices outweighed having to hunt for the books I needed.
