Hey eve, do u love mayday so much?

[I swear I was going to draw for this! It was going to be so pretty but also abstract and just be Eve in front of some nice backgrounds with cool color palettes, but damn I couldn't even START a wip for this. However! I do have the dialogue I was going to write for the art!]

Eve: As much as the ocean loves the moon, rising as high as mountains only to crash in on itself from the pressure of never being able to measure up to the beauty in the sky. 

As much as a wilted fern yearns for the sweet relief of a summer rain, drowning out all the problems and pain that came just before the storm.

I love her so much more than I can ever put into words. Beyond the scope of my own emotions. A never ending cascade of terror falls on me at the thought of never seeing her after a departure.

Yet I know I will never truly match the love she feels for me.

And I am okay with that. Because I love her as much as I can.

what do you think may's first love confession to eve was like

Oh definitely something silly but meaningful. I can see May trying to make a piece of art that mimicked her feelings, but it ended up being a mess or something.

She'd cook some food, maybe make some Matzah Balls soup or Kuih for the two of them to share. Small snacks that she knows Eve likes and drinks, both alcoholic and non.

Definitely Zuke and Haym would be in on this, probably the two helping May set things up and then making an excuse for the two to leave once Eve gets to the sewers so her and May could have their moment.

And then May would absolutely mess everything up, probably trip on something and break a dish accidentally. Drop her art and mess up her lines, but she would also just keep going. She wouldn't try to bail or restart, she would just laugh and power through her mistakes (though on the inside she was dying from embarrassment but again, she was going to push through).

At some point she does end up just saying that she likes Eve, being very blunt but careful about her words, trying not to let Eve overthink and possibly come to a different conclusion on what May was trying to say. May apologizes for not being more artistic, but that she loves Eve and wants to make her happy, and even if she rejects her, May wants to stay friends just so she could see Eve happy.

And Eve has no idea how to respond. But she is happy. She sits, and eats with May, the two talk, mainly Eve trying to process everything that had happened since it all went by fairly fast with how May was going about the confession.

I do think that Eve wants to rush in and just make it official, for fear if she waits she will lose this opportunity, but is also afraid of pushing May away. So she ends up saying she needs to think about it, not telling May any of this thought process (not because she was trying to hide it, she just didn't know how to express all this to May), and then leaving the sewers to go home (with May giving her containers of food so she would have some for later or the next day or two).

But May is so worried she messed up, terrified. She explains everything to Zuke and Haym when they come back, and they try to comfort her but May is just going off on tangents on how things will be awful and awkward now between her and Eve and just letting her anxiety take over.

In the end, Eve does accept May's offer and they do start dating. Eve keeps the art piece in her house displayed like all her other pieces of art that are very important to her.
