Hi Nate this has been sitting in my inbox for months bc I'm lazy and that's pretty much the only reason I have for you.

Anyway-

Honeymoon Malec HCs (don't come for me I haven't read all the books)

Magnus spends countless sleepless nights planning the perfect wedding

Despite his insistence that this stuff "doesn't matter that much" to him, Alec cannot help but participate. Frequently.

As per the many long, sometimes exhaustive conversations they have throughout the process, they wind up with some conglomeration of mixed cultural wedding between Warlock and Shadowhunter, with a few dashes of common Mundane aspects just because Magnus loves them

When they deed is done, they spend an hour fighting over who will get carried over the threshold

More specifically, they fight over who will do the carrying

Magnus wins and carries Alec under the logic that he's taller and therefore more equipped

Neither of them realize or mention that part being for after the honeymoon

I wish could say there's not a lot to be said about the actual honeymoon because they spent the whole time fucking about it, but Magnus was extremely insistent that they make it to every single attraction and tourist location he booked them for. It's a little bit infuriating for Alec, who had literally never been in a relationship before meeting Magnus, but it's too endearing to be seriously mad about it.

They definitely sent postcards home because Alec definitely gets homesick and Magnus definitely signs every one with some variation of "but everything is fine and we're literally thrilled none of you are here, kay byeeeee :)"

Alec does not agree to more hot air balloon shenanigans

Magnus books a blimp instead

Sigh goddamnit Magnus *shakes head broodily*

The blimp is actually very fun except for the part where Magus almost crashes and the conductor they hired to help them has to manually take over

At least Magnus had the forethought to hire an conductor though, right babe? :D

Magnus finds a little Downworlder club everywhere they go and this place is certainly no exception, so they spend at least a couple of nights drunk and a little over the top surrounded by people Alec has definitely never met before, but Magnus seems unexpectedly familiar with

Alec learns a lot about how much culture and social rules change in the Downworld depending on where you are in the physical world

He learns a lot about Magnus in general

They learn a lot about each other together

There's a very real possibility Alec gets too drunk and tries to "renew their vows" and Magnus has to remind him that they're literally on their honeymoon

When things do eventually conclude and they return to the real world, they create a little homage display of photos and memorabilia in the loft to always remember the amazing experiences they had

Here is what I made for my Malec Secret Santa gift for @greentealycheejelly! This is what I wrote when I submitted it:

This is the first digital landscape that I've done, and surprisingly it was the easiest part of the whole painting 🙃 Faces are hard. Hands are hard. Running out of time because you got really sick and fell behind makes everything harder. But I did it, and I'm proud of the results.

Malec on their honeymoon plzzz

“You know how I’ve been saving your asses for the past few years and how the lot of you would have been dead ten times over if I wasn’t there?” Magnus says to Izzy and Jace as he enters the institute.

The two of them look up at him and frown. “Yes?”

“I’m here to collect.”

“I don’t know what we could possibly give you considering you already own the Consul.” Jace smirks.

He’s an idiot.

He’s also right.

But what Magnus needs might piss off Raziel himself.

But fuck Raziel.

Stupid Raziel is chilling in the angel city while his husband has been drowning in stress and work.

“Are you going to help me or not? It involves light kidnapping.”

Jace and Izzy’s eyes gleam, and they nod their heads frantically in agreement.

It takes Magnus less than six hours to organise everything with the help of the two of them.

He wakes up the next day with a warm body pressed tightly against his. Alec’s head was resting on his chest.

Alec stirs in his sleep and lets out a small sigh.

Magnus smiles and starts carding his fingers through Alec’s hair.

A small smile appears on Alec’s face, and he finally opens his eyes.

“Morning, my love.”

Alec shifts even closer to Magnus and rests his chin on his chest. “Morning.”

His smile is so infectious that Magnus finds it impossible not to smile back.

He remembers a time when Alec’s smile used to be rare. Now, he smiles easily.

Magnus would gladly go to war to keep that smile on his face.

Alec leans upwards and kisses his lips softly. He rests his head back on Magnus’s chest and turns slowly—his eyes darting across the room.

Alec’s eyes widen, and he sits up immediately. “What the hell?”

He removes the comforter and walks out to the balcony to look around.

“Magnus! Where are we?” Alec inquires, a frown on his face.

“I can assure you there’s a very good explanation for this.”

“About why we’re in the middle of the mountains and not back home where we are supposed to be?” Alec says exasperatedly.

“Yes.”

Alec shakes his head. “Okay. Explain.”

Uh..well. Magnus hadn’t really prepared for that part.

His plan was to kiss Alec and shut him up.

“Magnus?”

“You have been so stressed lately. You needed a break, darling.” He explains.

Alec sighs. “I can’t afford a break right now Magnus. It’s only been three months since the Clave got divided. There’s so much to do I—“

Magnus walks towards Alec and wraps his arms around him. “Everyone deserves a break every once in a while, love. I talked to your siblings and Mark and Diego. Everyone will manage without you for a week.”

“A week??”

Magnus chuckles at his scandalised face. “I promise you the shadowhunter race won’t combust if we’re not there for a week.”

“Without me. Maybe.” Alec smiles, his body releasing some tension. “Without you? They’d be extinct by tomorrow night.”

He grins. “We never went on our honeymoon, you know. I thought this would be the best time to give you a break plus have our honeymoon.”

Alec drops his gaze. “I’m sorry, baby. I know things have been a mess lately. You deserve better than a lousy vacation.”

Magnus gasps dramatically. “Alexander Gideon Lightwood, did you just call a vacation that I planned, lousy? That’s ground for divorce.”

“You’re not allowed to divorce me. I’ll add a No-divorce clause in the law. I’m the Consul.” Alec grins.

Magnus shakes his head fondly. “That’s abuse of power.”

Alec pushes Magnus gently towards the bed and straddles his lap. “Says the man who just kidnapped his own husband for their honeymoon.”

“A man has needs Alexander. I needed a full week of you roaming naked, without any interruptions.”

Alec giggles and bends down to bite his neck gently. “Magnus it’s freezing out here. If you wanted me naked, you should have taken us to someplace warmer.”

Magnus fake sighs. “I guess we’ll just have to share body heat.”

Alec hums and wraps his arms tighter around Magnus’s neck. “Hey.”

“Hmm.”

“Thank you for doing this.”

Magnus pushes a strand of hair from Alec’s face gently and kisses him. “There are some ground rules.”

Alec let out a soft chuckle. “On our honeymoon? Let’s hear it.”

“You’re not allowed to shave for a week.”

His husband shakes his head fondly at him. “Fine. But you’re not allowed to use any hair products then.”

“Deal.” Magnus runs his hand along Alec’s back and then inside his shirt, making the other man shiver slightly.

Alec’s eyes widen suddenly. “What about the boys? Where are they?”

“They are both monsters, Alexander. Kept on giving me the puppy eyes, making me feel guilty for not taking them.” Magnus groans.

Alec chuckles against his throat. “They get the dramatics from you.“

Magnus smacks his chest lightly and huffs. “I had to blackmail Blueberry with another brother orra sister since he’s already bored with Rafe. Rafael was a little harder to handle, he cried a little. You need to talk him once.”

It hasn’t been long since they got Rafael, and separation from either of them was still very hard on the boy.

Alec’s breath quickens at that, but Magnus puts a hand on his chest. “Hey, he’s okay. He’ll be fine. We’ll call them every day and if it gets bad, we can always get them here.”

The shadowhunter relaxed at the words. “Okay.”

“I sent a binder to Maryse. It lists everything from the boys food preferences to their sleep patterns. Your siblings and everyone else will handle your work. You just need to relax now and let me pamper you.”

Alec grabbed Magnus’s face in both his hands and crashed their mouths together in a deep kiss. Magnus moans softly against his lips and tightens his hold on him.

“I really really love you. Did you know that?” Alec breathes when they break apart.

Magnus’s eyes soften.

If only Alec knew how much Magnus loved him.

He wishes he could explain it to Alec, but his love for Alec wasn’t something he could ever put into words.

Not even to Alec himself.

“The whole list thing is doing it for you right?” He grins.

Alec groans. “Of course it’s doing it for me.”

Magnus giggles.

“Hey.”

“Hmm”

“Happy honeymoon, sweetheart.”

Alec’s smiles widen, and Magnus wants to capture this moment for an eternity.

“Happy honeymoon, baby.”

Predictions

I think Better in Black will be in chronological order.

I think that therefore it will be flanked by Herongraystairs ships. The first story, an immediate Post-TID Wessa (in Paris)! And the last will be a very recent, TWP-is-imminent Jessa (that features some Kit, too).

I think that there will be 5 historical-era ships (including modern-day Jessa) and 5 modern-era ones.

(NOTE: The stories that I am gunning for hard are Thomastair, Wessa, and Jordelia. If I get those three ships, nothing else will really bug me).

I think that there is about a 0% likelihood of any non-Herongraystairs TID ships. I also think that the chances of Ghostwriter are very low for TLH. I think that the chances of Matthew/LI are quite low, but higher than Ghostwriter. I really want Matthew/LI, so please manifest with me. But it's not my realistic projection.

Chronologically/in the order I think they'll appear, my realistic prediction is as follows. I put in parenthesis what I think will happen in the story, though please treat that as a seperate prediction than story order.

Wessa -> Adjusting to their engagement, spending some time in Paris, perhaps visiting ATOTC-related venues.

Jordelia -> Second wedding runes, probably the most NSFW content in the book, some outings (hopefully) of them out in London and some scenes of them planning their honeymoon. I do really hope to see them in Constantinople, but I don't think that's in the cards. I want to see some of their chess playing, too.

Thomastair -> Honestly, I think we probably will get to see some of them playing with Zachary <3 though I think he'll still be a baby-baby. I imagine it will be some of them babysitting and some scenes of them moving into the Cornwall Gardens house. Honestly I am well and truly satisfied with anything about them, I cannot think of a single story I would not enjoy. Thomastair is my #1 priority for Better in Black.

Arianna -> Perhaps some scenes of them in India, meeting their child for the first time and bringing her back to London to acclimate. Scenes of them adjusting to being mothers. I hope we can see Matthew and his love interest in this one, perhaps they run into them in India. I am excited for this because I felt like their story was unfinished, and I still have some doubts about Anna's character arc. This could lay my doubts to rest. (I really want to stan AriAnna)

Clace -> Skip a hundred years. Perhaps them being engaged.

Malec -> This one's gonna be a huge winner. I think it's probably going to be them with their family and really cute. But if it were my choice, I would write about Alec hanging out with the other warlocks (Catarina, Ragnor, and Tessa) here. Get to know his family a bit, you know?

Haline -> Holiday on the continent? (I also feel like this guess is optimistic and it will probably be Sizzy, but sue me. I want more Haline content.)

Jemma -> I lied when I said I think Jordelia will be the smuttiest story. This one will.

Kierarktina -> Polyamorous Faerie Cottage.

Jessa -> Possibly some setup/teasing for TWP, we will see Kit, there will be domestic Jessa. Basically it'll be a repeat of the last GoTSM story's fundamental purpose lol. But it'll be different. I bet this one has quite some spice, too.

Wow! Max's dedication to figure out Warlock Math to live his life with David really came to fruition. He Girlbossed himself to achieve his manifestation. And look, 720 years later he's getting to reap his benefits.
