Im rewatching the 1980's version of Macgyver, and the amount of infinite rizz that man has with both men and women is insane. The 2016 version is Nerdy™. The 1980's version is not only Nerdy™, but also hot and suave and charming. This mans ability to be serious, yet endearingly witty at the same time is amazing to witness.

Reboot MacGyver writers: We have to make sure that every episode is consistent and furthers the story we're trying to tell.
Original MacGyver writers: So yeah, he's going to fight bigfoot this episode.

You know what I think would be an amazing cross over? MacGyver and Tony Stark. Like think about it, they're both similar levels of smart, MacGyver just doesn't have the resources to do what Tony does. Tony would probably be impressed by how much MacGyver can do with scraps and MacGyver would probably help Tony straighten his life out. Then they'd be best friends and everyone else would be kind of terrified of them
you are so right. if tony stark met macgyver when he was a kid/teen, he would be a much healthier man today. i need that macgyver episode stat.

The old 1980s MacGyver is so, so much better than the 2016 version. But I want to talk to whoever did the set design for episode 1, because it is hilarious and embarrassing to watch this man stand in a lab, struggling to think of a way to build a bomb, while standing right next to an intact compressed gas cylinder with a flammables warning on it. And instead of using that he decides to go looking for sodium metal. Which, okay, sure, will probably work, but dude, I had to take a safety training on how not to turn gas cylinders into missiles BY ACCIDENT. It'd be pretty hard to control, of course, but if it's an explosion you want, that'd do it - especially since I know you have matches from the lasers-and-cigarette-smoke trick thirty minutes ago.

found the 1968 Minnesota highschool yearbook I bought on the MacGyver pilgrimage :)
I hadn't clocked on previous readings that the yearbook was sponsored by the local pool hall, among other local businesses

Hello new fandom. I'm absolutely in love with the 1985 Macgyver. Spent the weekend watching the first season and I'm hooked. I need to get the rest of the series.

Ok, I'm probably soooo late to the party here, but I've never seen anyone else mention this, so maybe it's something?
TIL that Micheal Des Barnes played Murdoc in Macgyver (1985), and then played Hellman in Macgyver (2016), which is not only a cool cameo, but a fun way of making the passing of the torch for that character to David Dastmalchian canon.

He wore an all black suit, one leg propped up on his knee and a faint knowing smile dancing in his eyes. Exceptionally groomed down to the last detail. He sipped easily on a glass of blood orange wine and looked around him at the gathering of strangers sitting at the outdoor café.
"He's one confidant S.O.B., that's for sure," Rossi said with a smirk.
"He thinks we can't touch him," said Hotch.
"Wanna prove him wrong?"
Hotch nodded curtly, then walked alongside Rossi, up to the table where the assassin sat.
Murdoc's ears picked up the sound of two synched footsteps traveling his direction from behind; he looked up from his glass before setting it aside. "David Rossi, Aaron Hotchner" he said. "Please," he gestured for the two empty seats opposite the table from him with an empty hand. "Take a seat gentlemen."
Hotch and Rossi glanced at each other, gauging how safe they would feel accepting the offer, but following the assassin's instructions all the same. They came around the table on either sides before taking their seats. Murdoc sat, amused while writing in a small notebook balanced on his knee.
"You seem calm, Murdoc, meeting us out in the open and all."
A smile slowly grew across Murdoc's handsome face, his pen swirling over the blank white paper. "You've done your research, Agent Rossi. It takes quite a bit of digging to produce as little as my name. Impressive." Finally looking up, he met eyes with Rossi and shrugged. "Of course it's not my real name. Though I'm not sure if something that old can be dug up. But if I have my details right… Penelope hasn't quite figured out how to find that yet."
Back in Quantico, Garcia's eyes widened as she watched on from her computer. "H-he knows my name," she stuttered. "H-how does he…"
Gently, Spencer hushed her, staring intently at the screen. Murdoc had chosen a table where only the faces of their coworkers were illuminated by the lights. Garcia had pulled up the real-time footage from a camera outside the café where the three men sat.
