The trailer is always highly anticipated by the festival crowd and they keep getting wilder and wilder every year, so we’re glad to have been part of the process this year.

The festival is held on September 14-24, in Helsinki. HIFF is known to showcase a wide range of local and foreign films not seen in your regular cinema, making the festival an absolute treat for the film lovers.

Not only can you spot BBG members from the audience during many of the film screenings, we are also taking part in the industry event organised during the festival, Finnish Film Affair, from September 19th to 21st. As it is the biggest industry event of the year here in Finland, it’s always thrilling to meet new people and talk about future prospects. You will certainly find Emma and Iiris there, so please don’t hesitate to come and talk to us at the event!

The screening, curated by the Young Artist of the Year 2018, J. A. Juvani, preent the politics of body, sex, sexuality, and gender. According to Queer Bodies (2011) by Heather Sykes, “queer bodies” include all that are excluded from the norm, such as the overweight body. In the screening, Aurora Reinhard’s interview documentary Boygirl (2002) is followed by recent works of a new generation of artists: Hinni Huttunen, Artor Jesus Inkerö, Camille Auer, and Kristoffer Ala-Ketola. The screening is associated with the forthcoming educational material on queer thematics produced by AV-arkki and Seta and curated by J. A. Juvani. R&A TALKS: Queer Bodies Torstaina 27.9. at 17-18 Bio Rexin lämpiön lavalla

Co-hosted with AV-Arkki – the Centre for Finnish Media Art ja The Family Federation of Finland we dive into representations of gender. On stage artists J.A.
