They’re siblings! Two nightwings living in the same desert town as Futureseeker, and two of her closest friends.
No one is sure where they really come from, not even them! They just sort of showed up one day, too young to remember much before that, and some townsfolk were kind enough to take of them.
The only sign of left of any parents were the names they already had.
Undying is a kind of chaotic and energetic dragon. Can’t sit still to save her life. She’s kind of a tease, but means well and doesn’t actually want to hurt anyone.
Heartless is a more angsty dragon. They’re sassy and a bit standoffish. Easily riled up if you make fun of them, but then again, if your parents named you Heartless I think that’s fair.
It's always "aros can still date!" "aros can still be in (any type of non-romantic or romantic) relationships!" "aros aren't heartless!" "aros can still love in different ways!"
Well, sure, you do you.
But not all of us. A lot of us are *completely* non-partnering. There's loveless aros. Aplatonic aros. Hell, even heartless is a label some aros use!
We don’t need to do anything to "replace" the romantic relationships we don’t have. People can be completely happy alone! Without a partner! (Shocking, I know!)
I'm just a bit tired of all the amatonormativity I still see under some of the trending aro-positivity posts...
Hello, hope y'all are doing well! (^^)/
Wanted to make a quick post to let y'all know that my annual January curse has breeched containment and I'm currently in the middle of organizing sudden household repairs and unexpected medical appointments and miscellaneous stress sgdfgh-- 🫠
All that to say: no new video this week while I'm stuck grappling with all of the above sgdfksfd -- but here's a doodle of Heartless in the meantime! I wanna figure out a more solid design for his ghouls 🤔👻
If you claim to be an aromantic ally but you deliberately don’t support loveless, heartless or aplatonic aros, then I hate to break it to you but you are not an ally.
And this is coming from an aromantic who happens to experience other forms of love quite strongly. But the moment someone tries to say something along the lines of “love is what makes us human” I am willing to flip tables.
Loveless people are not a tragedy. Loveless people are not something to be pitied. You don't need to understand us, since a lot of loving people don't or won't exactly get it, but talking about us as if we're necessarily living a sadder life is just hurtful. Some loveless people do struggle with their identity, but being loveless in itself is not tragic. It is a way to live and a way to feel. Lovelessness is an identity. It's a way of viewing the world. Don't mourn for us when you don't know what it is to be us, and please be respectful of the loveless people around you.
Nah cuz personally, fuck the whole "aro and ace people can still love in other ways, they're not heartless!" thing
Because respectfully, no, I don't. I don't owe anyone queer-platonic love, I don't owe anyone platonic love, hell I don't even owe anyone familial love. How about we separate the idea of loving someone and caring for someone. I care about my friends. I care about my family. But I don't owe it to anyone to describe that feeling as love, even without a romantic or sexual context. Love loses is not purely for rose love. It is the complete disregard of the concept. Love loses. Love loses. I don't owe anyone love to be considered a real, living, deserving person.
Finished art from this week's video!
It was really nice to draw my ice boi again, but even nicer to see him (and the video itself) getting such a warm reception from y’all in the comments - thank y’all so much for the lovely energy 💖
