Here is a receipt from summer 2021

"I was spending my summer holidays with a few cousins at one of their family bungalows in Ireland. And the outskirts of this county I was in, is known for alot of celebs having their holiday homes.

Two of my cousins are golf enthusiasts and they have a membership in the nearby golf center. Its one of those boujee clubs that has golf but also other amenities. Almost like a leisure club yk. If you are a member, you get free food, drinks, you can use the gym, they even have a spa. Truly heavenly. They give 3 type of memberships: silver, gold and platinum. The names are self explanatory. My brothers had the gold one.

They offered me to join them for my last week there. And i have no interest in golf whatsoever so i just chilled and roamed around while they were golfing. My first two days there went without a hitch. Such a great aura. I enjoyed myself. But the next day, they had closed a section of the golf course where my brothers usually liked to golf. And they were a bit upset about it. They talked to the manager and they were told that a vip member(with platinum membership) was there who specifically asked to close that section for an hour and a half. They then gave my brothers a spot nearby as to not upset them further. I was in the viewers section above just watching my brothers golf, when I glanced towards the closed off area. I was shocked for a sec because I was sure that it was Harry but I was like there is no chance he is here. As the time went on, in the next 10 mins I was sure it was harry. Then this caddie I had become friends with came to the bleacher and I asked him about H and he told me that harry had a booking for for 3 days this week. Has been coming here with some of his friends. I was so star struck but like it also made me so happy and giddy. I observed him for a while and this caddie then told me in all the golf terminology that he was quite a decent golfer.

We returned back the next day, they weren't there. We went there the day after, and harry started golfing when my brothers were almost finishing but that day harry and louis were both on the golf course with 2 other guys who I assume were the same guys louis was chilling with. Louis was looking at Harry golfing. And oh god, it looked so domestic even from afar. At one point louis said something and they all laughed. Harry too laughed with his head thrown back. I watched them for 10-15 mins and I saw harry glance up at Louis like 5 times in that time span. They maybe just hanging out as friends tbh. But just seeing them together made me so happy.

Sorry for such a long receipt, I go too much into details haha. I am submitting this to you and to a few tumblr accs today cause I feel like our fandom needs it right now and its been a while since this happened. Good day!"

I don't really think when the meta writers hit back against the strict boxing of characters where once again the white man in a homosexual relationship got framed as the femme, they really were meaning to put Louis on the pedestal of a nurturing matriarch. Their little notes on their blogs do not excuse Louis's carelessness or selfishness when it comes to Claudia. They don't excuse his violence when it comes to Claudia. Their metas had mostly to do with their (Louis and Claudia's) dynamic against Lestat. And if in that Louis got projected as the matriarch then yeah, mothers can hurt their children. Ari aster in hereditary, in the movie witch, even in game of thrones, there are proofs of violence a mother can heave on her children.

The metas were mostly a reaction to how lestat got categorized. That's it.

I get what you mean, but as I previously said, I don't think the framing with solely the Edwardian marriage text in mind is completely necessary nor is it really capable of fully reflecting the familial dynamic we see by episode 6. The reason why we see Edward Carpenter's text in the episode is because of Louis, right? Louis as the narrator gives us literary references throughout his story that we can then use as hints so as to see what kind of dynamic he may allude to regarding him and Lestat. But those literary hints aren't the full constructed framing, they're just hints. Louis' story goes beyond them, as I mentioned in how his monologue during Claudia's train scene is explicit in the commentary of Claudia suffering from segregation laws and how even in spite of them, she found elation because it meant running away from Lestat. He made sure to state that even while having to hide in a train car that was used for luggage as a stowaway because of racist laws, Claudia didn't care about accommodations if it meant being free from her abusive father, therefore highlighting again how visceral her feelings of being trapped were.

I'm not here to tell meta writers what they should or shouldn't write, I just stated that when others only take this framing in mind and neglect the other obvious ones, they begin to lose important aspects that Louis repeatedly notes on in his story. And I don't think you have to do that when you're arguing against another overly simplistic viewing of the characters.

#interview with the vampire #answered #another reason why I also feel like Edwaed Carpenter's text doesn't even actually fully frame the familial dynamic by the end #is because within the text; Carpenter makes note of how marriage as a social demand and construct benefits neither the wife nor husband #he makes an argument that the husband also doesn't benefit from it and in a way asks for you #to empathize towards both sides as a way to look towards marriage as a social construct and set of rules to be the main issue #but by the end of episode 6 Lestat is fully framed as a villain #HE is the obstacle Claudia and Louis have to face and bring down #which later was built into the orchestrated climax of episode 7

Need writing advice for OFMD Angsty fic (read TW!)

Okay, guys. Need some help here.

Trying to write a fic, but I don’t think any of the reactions I’m writing are IN character, so I need advice. But before anything, some TW for child death, and maybe sickness. Nothing graphic.

Alright, first of all, I need the setting. I don’t know if this would work best when they’re already kind-of successful with the inn thing, or maybe they just got there, or maybe they left the inn and went to the sea again for some time. How could they receive a letter, then? I want either Ed or Stede to correspond letters with either Mary or Doug (I was thinking, Stede sending letters to Mary (and she responds. Happens about once a month, informing about the children and how they’re doing), and then one day, Doug writes a letter to Edward and that is like super weird for him).

Also need help with this. Want this to be as historically accurate as possible (and medically accurate too), so, how could they have exchanged letters? Don’t think they have owls that deliver them. Maybe Mary and Stede tell each other where they’re going to be, so they know where to send the letter on a specific date for it to arrive on a specific date? Maybe they’re going to port to buy food, and the letter arrives. I don’t know how it would work with the inn thing tho.

Basically, Alma (or maybe Louis?) gets sick. And Mary writes to Stede about it and tells him she’s getting really bad, but it’s probably normal for the weather (I guess?), and she’ll be fine with some rest.

He worries a bit, but Ed reassures him.

But then, Ed receives the letter from Doug, and he knows something is wrong. Instantly. He read it, and it said the worst (y’all probably know what happened by now), and Doug tells him Mary is so devastated she could barely eat, and she wasn’t able to even hold a pen to write. He tells Ed he isn’t that close to Stede, so he doesn’t believe he should be the one to break the news to him, as he doesn’t know how Stede would react. So now, either Edward has to tell Stede or he waits for Mary’s letter, that will arrive probably next month (again, she’s devastated, and Louis is too, and also Doug, but he probably should have been the one to write this to Ed, as he doesn’t want Stede to not know the news).

So yeah, that’s the idea for now. The thing is, should Mary tell Stede and Stede finds out from her, should Doug write directly to aster or should he write to Ed so he tells Stede on his own?

Also, how would Stede and Ed react in the three cases (either when Ed has to tell stede, Stede knows first, or both of them know at the same time)? Also, the setting? Also, how would they cope?

I thought Stede’s reaction being more of a breakdown. Something like Annie from Hereditary, but don’t think that would work for him. Maybe? I don’t know. And also, what about Edward? He loves Stede, so he probably loves how much Stede loves his children.

I want this to be a 3 chapter thing, don’t know how many words yet, we’ll see.

Not sure if anyone has had this idea before. And if you know a fic like this, please link it so I can give it a read and tag the author just in case they think I’m inspired by their work (have had problems with this before).

The first chapter would be about Stede worrying and Ed reassuring him and the ending being how Ed just got this weird letter from Doug and ends with him reading it and going “shit-“, the second one about him telling Stede (again, I don’t know about this one), and the last one some years or months later, maybe Louis visits them?, Stede misses her but knows she’s in a better place now (?). Maybe even adopt a child but don’t think that will even be in the beta.

And I almost forgot. If they’re in the ship, how would the crew react? Not that they’re very important caracteres in this fic, but I don’t want anyone OOC.

How do you think Aster H would react to a news along the lines of Angel getting hurt!?

Like maybe he's at the tattoo parlour busy with a client when Niall/Louis/Liam/Zayn just barge in and let him know that his phone kept ringing on the front desk and it was a call from the hospital for Y/N who has him listed as the emergency contact and they've asked him to come there. I feel since they don't disclose what happened to her over the phone he'll be panicking and reaches the hospital and is overall agitated because he doesn't know what's happened and they won't let him get to her quicker because of all the details and stuff. But like it's a relief when he gets to her and knows its nothing serious but maybe a sprained ankle or a broken bone at the worst. And she's a bit teary eyed and sniffling and he's just so happy to find her in one piece albeit a bit worn down and hurt but still his sweet Angel!!

omg like normally h doesn't leave his phone up front so he doesn't get the calls at all but then her emergency contact also had the shop number on their and when Niall picks up the phone there and its the hospital and they cant disclose details bc its not harry who answered and all but just that they needed to notify him and all the things so its like a little bit of a panic bc what the fuck happened that the hospital had to literally call them to tell h to go see y/n like what but as soon as he tells h like its like everything changes in a split second like he can't even concentrate like he has to stop tattooing an he barely gets out a sorry and that the boys will take care of them or idk he literally can't think hes just got his phone and his keys and hes gone leaving like everything else there and hes literally frantic trying to get there and youre right like a little agitated by the time hes at the hospital and trying to figure out where she is and what happened and just !!!!!!!! theres so much happening and he swears his stomach is trying to eat his entire body bc theres so much anxiety and fear in him over this:( and I can almost see :( like since they won'y let him see her right away for some paperwork reason :( that it just like slips :( and he calls her his wife :( even tho they aren't married or anything :( but omf the second he sees her and shes just got her ankle wrapped up and a pair of crutches off to the side of her bed and one of the nurses going over aftercare and all the little things w her and an x-ray light up on the wall of her ankle and shes all teary and he can tell shes just not okay and so scared like he just knows her so well and its just :( and the second she sees him she starts crying again and the nurse just lets them have that moment when h wraps her up and lets her cry into him and he gets teary too bc he was sosososos scared he assumed the absolute worse and as much as it hurts him to see her hurt at all at least shes okay and awake :( and I can see him sitting w her and being there and asking the nurse all these questions about how to take care of her ankle and just being so :(((( the best for her :(
