Man, I had to work to find the descrips I did ages ago for @coatntails and my Labyrinth costumes:

Kherty A’ap(h^)ush - ah ah hush just with an aspirated p instead of an h to start - birdy Death - A’apush is a bird headed death who is reknowned for luring her prey close with beautiful song before snatching them and leaving them to rot and ripen for the tastiest and most aromatic meal for herself. Part of that process is the distillation of memories into the purest secrets. The secrets a person hid and the secrets they had the clues to but never put together. It’s said she knows where every treasure lies, whether it be gold, childhood toys, or the words that will unlock a heart. It’s also suggested that she can turn anything into a treasure, even something so horrific as someone’s own death and decomposition she can make alluring. But that also means that the very brave and foolish will sometimes seek her out to make themselves irresistible to another.

Kherty Tuabith - too wah bith - kitty death - Tuabith is a cat headed death who is renowned as a plague bringer. He offers cursed gifts and in short order entire clans are dead. He likes to toy with his prey, like any cat, so it is said he knows exactly what gift to give that will cause a person to agonize over accepting it, not too irresistible to have no choice but too irresistible to pass up in the end over long agonizing unless they are incredibly strong willed. A person who can resist the temptation earns Tuabith’s respect and their people will find themselves passed over in plague time precisely because so few people earn Tuabith’s respect.

Kherty A’ap(h^)ush got nicknamed “Pushy,” became Kherty Pu’ush, and then finally ended up Maggie of @countessmaggie

And I believe that, tonight, she will walk again. With a new friend and Tuabith limping along beside now and then, here and there. Definitely for when the world falls down.

You Remind Me of the Babe...

This weekend we attended the Labyrinth of Jareth Masquerade Ball. If you are not familiar with LOJ Masquerade, it is an annual fantasy masquerade ball where people pull out all the stops on their costumes and you will see the most amazing things. There are acrobats and performers and a goblin cabaret and fortune tellers plus there's dancing!

At the beginning of the year, I came across a stunning Day/Night costume made by the House of Worth in the 1880s. I was OBSESSED with this dress and decided that I would create my own version for the ball.

This is one of the most complicated projects I've ever attempted and I'm very pleased with the results. I felt like part of fairyland.
