New York Brownstone building

Hi, my fellow simmers! ♡

Today I’m sharing with you a New York Brownstone building!

It has in total 8 apartments but I renovated the 3 of them. They are all designed in different styles.

The first one is a built-in smart apartment for a family of four with only one bedroom but a lot of storage space!

The second one is an exotic apartment inspired by the Latin American and African cultures so I imagined the couple who lives here came from the different sides of the world and decided to combine their cultures in their city apartment.

The third one is a green apartment designed to be perfect for plant parents and plant lovers.

I also decorated a small community space on top of the roof and a tiny industrial street bar.

Flying Lotus - You’re Dead! (2014)

Favorite Track: “Dead Man’s Tetris”

Features: Thundercat, Kendrick Lamar, Snoop Dogg, Angel Deradoorian, Niki Randa

Notes: Thundercat’s bass work remains unmatched; he manages to be explicitly present yet not overwhelming on his featured tracks. While less prominent, the other features also fit easily within the project’s sound. Flying Lotus crafted an absolutely beautiful album where the tracks are distinctive but still fit together. Part of his music’s uniquity lies in his lack of noticeable sample-work. While I personally love a clever sample-flip, it’s refreshing to listen to a body of work that is purely original and still interesting.

Would I Recommend?

Absolutely! Unless, of course, you hate jazz. This is the perfect album for someone who loves jazz instrumentals with some energy (no “chill lofi study beats” here).

Tag Game

both @tiny-breadcrumbs and @mx-myth tagged me in this; as this promised t be serious distraction while writing actual fic, I decided to do it only after I had posted the last chapter of 'Detoxify'. Sorry!!

Last song I listened to: I mostly don't listen to specific songs and artists these days but go for long playlists on Spotify by mood and vibes, to read and/or write to. The last ones I listened to were "Flute Meditation", "Lofi Beats", "Forest Bathing" and "Lazy Jazz Cat". The last artists I listened to specifically were Hozier, KOENIX, and Loreena McKennit.

Currently watching: I got back to watching the "Reunion: The Sound of Providence" instalment of DMBJ. I call it 'Warehouse 11'. Apart from the Mystic Nine movie with Zhu Sanjin, it's the only bit of the DMBJ franchise that I know. I tried to watch some other instalment, but everybody was played by these kids, which totally murdered my suspension of disbelief. Also, I watch occasional episodes of 'Dungeon Meshi' only because it keeps swimming across my dash, and "911" as well as an older German show where some Jesuit investigates church and historical themed mysteries.

Currently obssessed with: Mysterious Lotus Casebook. It's stuck in my brain now. I just adore these three characters and the numerous side characters, even the evil ones. They are all wonderfully done. Yes, even Xiao Zijin. He's that one bland conventional "successful" guy from work everybody knows and secretly suspects is both stupid and a coward; and here, we see him revealed as such!
