a lot of popular tropes/ common interpretations made by destiel shippers are literally misogyny and homophobia repackaged into 'fun' headcanons, and lesbians and bi women who experience both and still subject themselves to that community are scary to me. day 1000 of seeing people be accused of homophobia and denying canon destiel for saying dean did in fact like women/ lisa, and they still take part in all of that.

You're young, so I'm going to say this as nicely and clearly as I can: "radical feminism" is just white supremacist patriachy in a pink hat.

There is no "war on women", there is just white cis men in positions of power that have managed to convince white cis women in positions of (slightly less) power that all their problems come from trans people, not the cis men, and that the solution is to make it so that no trans people are visibly existing anywhere in public.

But, spoiler alert, there have always been trans people, and there always will be. The Nazis tried to erase all traces of our existence in the Thirties (that's what the infamous book burning was about), but we are still here. And it should give you pause to realise that you are literally aligned with the literal goddamn Nazis of Nazi Germany in "the trans question". And also with the current fascist dictatorship in Russia. Is this really where you want to be? If not, why would you think they're right about this but not anything else?

You're never going to live in a world without men or masc-aligned people, so to think that every single one of them is a predator just waiting for a chance to pounce is going to cause you a massive amount of self inflicted mental harm. Likewise, to think that no woman or fem-aligned person is capable of causing you harm is going to leave you super vulnerable to the ones that do.

I'm not expecting you to answer this, I'm just hoping that you think about it.

If radical feminism is just white supremacy in disguise, how come most radfems seem to be POC? A considerable portion of them not even living in white countries?

If it's "white cis men" causing all the problems for women, how come women are oppressed globally? You think women killed by morality police have white men to blame? Honey, no. It's all men. It's a male problem.

I do not think that trans people are responsible for the patriarchy. I just think it's a super regressive way of thinking, and I post about it a lot because here on Tumblr, trans activism is the norm. It makes me feel that much more like I need to speak my mind.

For example- I think of trans activists like I think of tradwives. Sure, they aren't responsible for sexism, but they aren't exactly helpful in women as a whole breaking those chains. Woman is not a feeling, and someone born and raised as a male can't know how it feels to be a woman. When a male identifies as a woman, what he's identifying with is whatever caricature of womanhood he has in his head. We don't need transition. What we need is to normalize gender nonconformity.

On top of that, many trans activists are holding the acceptance of homosexuals back. Insisting that it's a "genital preference" and that gay men can never attracted to females, or that a lesbian is a "woman loving woman" and lesbians who don't try penis are "fetishists" it's the same homophobia conservatives have been throwing at us for years under a new coat of "progressive" paint. Before -if you were a woman who didn't like cock- you were a dirty sinner. Now you're a bigoted genital fetishist. It's all the same.

Trans activists are aligned with Nazis in that regard, isn't that right? The reasoning and the execution are different among all three groups. Surely you can see that? No radfem want trans people dead. We just want all these gender roles to stop. We want the repackaged homophobia to end.

It really isn't cool to call everyone who disagrees with you a nazi, by the way. It really downplays what a nazi is.

I'm not going to dignify the "not all men" portion of this with a response. Look at some violent crime statistics or something.

And no, of course I don't think women won't hurt me. Nor do I think all women are good people. I don't think I've ever said anything to make you think that?

I'm sorry for taking so long to reply to this, and I'm sorry for keeping it so short. But I don't want to repeat myself over and over and over again to everyone who says these things to me. I HAVE thought about it. That's why I'm here.

i dont have this thought fully percolated yet but i think the cultural obsession with the idea of counterculture is a part of why people get so defensive about being told that they’re actually the norm, and need to insist that actually taylor swift is oppressed and that makes them special or something. like i keep thinking about one out of context line from a mina le video talking about something about idk not like other girls or something where she said “and god forbid you want to listen to justin bieber every once in a while 🙄” when like justin bieber is one of the most commercially successful recording artists on the planet. I literally just got home from my retail job where i was forced to listen to justin bieber. listening to justin bieber is and was literally the norm. it’s literally just like being mad that the actually weird kids in high school called you a poser for liking justin bieber and now you’re arguing that actually liking justin bieber is the radical thing to the do in the face of this supposed overwhelming pressure to listen to idk noise metal.

and like in general this is just dumb and harmless but where it makes me mad is when this exact thing is applied to literal beauty standards. like when people insist that actually being a girly girl is radical feminist self-love, therefore not being feminine is being “not like other girls” which is hating on other women and is internalized misogyny, like. you are literally the norm. there are nuances of intention but functionally, to my dyke ass, it the same as my grandmother telling me to dress prettier. and its from this same insecurity around the idea of counterculture, this idea that things that are good are countercultural, and the things that you do must be good, therefore the things that you do must be countercultural. which is how you end up with people making video essays where they casually describe a character wearing men’s clothes as “trying to be not like other girls” and then list the women’s clothes she should have been wearing, and having zero fucking awareness that what they are doing is literally just homophobia repackaged as feminism with a side of teenage poser insecurity.

Simple. They hate homophobes and transphobes but can't actually bully them so they decided aces were homophobic and transphobic for being straight and cis and centralized all their issues on rooting out the "fakers" because they were an easier target than actual bigots.

I've heard all the excuses: Asexuals are inherently sexualizing the queer community and thus they are inherently homophobic, this one ace was homophobic this one time so clearly they are all homophobic deep down, "special snowflake syndrome", the acronym is LGBT and the word queer is disgusting (and a bunch of other repackaged TERF rhetoric), there is no history of ace people interacting with the queer community (a flat out lie), acephobia is just repackaged homophobia so it's not a real thing (same argument was used for why biphobia doesn't exist and bis aren't really oppressed), they will use up resources that actual sga and trans people can use (yes, sga and trans people was a term during that, even though sga originated from homophobic literature), I was ace and now I'm not and that is the ace community's fault, and multiple other lies, fallacies, and contradictions. Really, none of them can keep their story straight on why aces are so bad. Just that it’s not only okay but morally obligatory to hurt them in any way possible.

It's the same argument over and over. They've used it for lesbians, for queer people, for bi/pan people, for trans people, and now for ace people. A small amount of people have decided that this is their space and it's their job to drive out the "invaders", and the "invaders" just so happen to be whatever slice of the queer community they can easily hurt, because hurting people feels good. They’re bullies with a rainbow hat, plain and simple.

trans men face unique struggles for sure! but like on a societal level men arent oppressed specifically for being men.

cis people mistreat trans men not because they are men, but because cis people dont see them as real men in the first place. cis people view transmascs as lesser because they believe shit like "this is a woman who is not living in the typical gender presentation and norms" or "this silly woman is acting out for attention" or "theyre clearly not trying hard enough to be a man, theyre acting too gay and fem to be a true man" etc etc

biphobia from gays and lesbians is shitty and often just repackaged homophobia. i'm not talking about simply wanting spaces exclusively for homosexuals or only wanting to date homosexuals, i am talking about actual hatred of bisexuals. i hate to break it to you guys but i can't just magically undo my same sex attraction and turn straight. i cannot turn off the gay thoughts. there is no right man who can turn me straight. sexual orientation does not change. me being attracted to the same sex is not wrong, and i belong in same-sex attracted spaces and dating pools because i am a woman who is attracted to women. i will disclose that i am bi, because i have nothing against people preferring only to date lesbians, just as i would prefer another bisexual. i have nothing against respecting the boundaries of homosexuals and will leave if they want a space solely for themselves. but i will not magically turn straight either, and there is no way to undo a sexual orientation. that is literally the most basic concept ever, it should not be hard to understand. the L G and B all deserve respect, and hating on bisexuals literally just for existing while repeating conversion therapy rhetoric is not going to help anyone. in my experience, most people of the general rad persuasion are respectful about this, and i think we should regard each other with mutual respect. though there is a loud and unpleasant minority of course that deeply despises bisexuals.
