Hi! It’s 4AM and I just had an overwhelming feelings to write something in 30 minutes before I go to sleep. This is my first fic and am no where as talented as those amazing fic writers. Please go easy on me! This fic is heavy on self-doubt. Please skip if it could trigger you.
p/s : I don’t know how to properly work on this app and still trying to figure things out. I am also still learning about leaving warnings before any fics so please forgive me if I use the wrong warnings and such! Promise I will improve on this! 🥹

Growing up as the only child in the family, Y/N grew up and learnt almost everything on her own. Well, not everything as in raising herself but no one was there to keep her accompany as she watched her favourite tv shows, no one was there to tell her that Hogwarts wasn’t a real school, no one was there to tell her that she won’t receive any letters from Hogwarts like Harry did, no one was there to play Barbie with her. She thought it was fine and never cared about it because she eventually learnt it all by herself as she grew up.
But no one was there to teach her about love.
She read about it in novels that she borrowed from the library. She watched movies like “To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before” and thought to herself that love is beautiful but she never imagined herself to fall in love nor did she imagined herself capable to make someone else’s fall in love with her but then,
but then she met Jude Bellingham, a kid who went to the same high school with her.
She met him through a mutual, who thought it would be fine to play cupid and pair these two together because they thought it would be an interesting pair, a shy, introvert girl who had never been in any relationship and a friendly guy who got along with everyone, the one who had been in multiple relationships.
Of course, Y/N didn’t know how to differentiate if it was just a silly puppy crush, with love. She never knew if what she felt for Jude was just her desire to fall in love or she did genuinely fell in love with him.
“Hi, I’m Jude. Jude Bellingham.”
“Hi, I’m Y/N.”
Over the weeks, they got closer and closer. No one thought it would be a problem at all because, well, Jude can be friends with anyone.
“I really wanted to be a professional footballer.” He said, taking a bite from his burger. “I don’t think that is impossible, Jude. Look at you! You are so talented.” Y/N replied with a wide grin on her face. She had been to his friendly match before and Jude was indeed very talented. “You might even get picked to be in England national football team one day.”
“If I make it, then I want you to be there with me. As my girlfriend.”
“..what?” Y/N could have sworn this felt like an actual dream. Did he really ask her to be his girlfriend? Could this be a chance for her first ever relationship and could possibly be her one and only relationship?
She would have said yes straight away if it wasn’t for the sudden waves of anxiety. What if she made the wrong decision? What if she wasn’t ready? What if he was just playing around?
“I promise I’ll make it worth. I like you, Y/N. I really do.”
And she said yes. Because he promised,
but promises are meant to be broken.
Y/N did everything she could think of to make Jude the happiest boyfriend ever. She baked him cookies, she sent him a box of his favourite chocolates with handwritten letter to cheer him up when he lost his match, she spent days thinking about what she should give him as his birthday gift and she taught that those “relationships” she read and watched were indeed true, love was indeed the most beautiful thing a human could ever felt. Falling in love is like planting those roses and daisies in your heart and watched it grew to be a land of flowers.
But flowers will eventually wilt if you don’t keep taking care of it.
And soon she realised that Jude never reciprocate her actions. She was the only one who kept on flowering those flowers, Jude was just …..there, watching them getting limp.
Tumblr media
‘Did I try too hard? I thought I was making him happy. Did I annoy him? Am I not enough? I swear I tried my best to be there with him when he needed me. Am I not worthy of his love? Did he realised that I was not the girl he actually wanted?’ Y/N cried and cried as a train of negative thoughts kept on going round in her head.
But again, no one was there to tell her that she was worth even more. That he wasn’t even worth it. That she was perfect enough. That he wasn’t the one. That him leaving her with no explanation didn’t meant no one was gonna fall in love with her no more.
And Y/N then figured out that she said yes because she thought she found love and that maybe, she was too excited to know how it felt like to fall in love and how it felt to be loved by someone, that she was too blind to see that Jude asked her to be his girlfriend not because he was in love with her but because he wanted to be her first in everything, to feed his ego, to feel superior amongst his friends.

Writers have the most brilliant minds. The ability to be able to create entire realms through the simple use of words is an unparalleled talent. That power, used for good, can benefit real people and fictional characters alike. But used for evil... Writers have the most brilliant minds. And thus, they can dream up the most creative and illustrous crimes pulled off in innovative ways the likes of which our world has never seen.

THE ARCHIVIST
The wealthy heiress to a company providing the finest blood wine in the world, Madame Minthe is the mysterious sort, although filled with a delicate charm and blessed with enchanting beauty. There is something... eternal about her charisma.
She was married and widowed seven times (to people of various gender), and each of her spouses disappeared suddenly without a trace. After these losses, however, Minthe never did seem distraught. In fact, there was a certain glow about her that incited interest. She seemed to not age past the ripe age of twenty-three.
To this day, she works in a highly protected study with her spell book collection, where she compiles archives and analyzes past historical crimes. For inspiration, perhaps?
Interpersonal relationships:
Dr. Finley Rose: "They are an aquaintance... an ally, perhaps. They have quite the sense of humour and a flair for the dramatics."
Dr. Cami Einar: "She is delightful... the best possible person I could have come across in my grandfather's old castle. A most excellent scientist, indeed."
Phoenix: "Xey seem to be quite reserved... mmm, no matter. I haven't made an enemy out of xem yet, so I'll pay it no mind."

~ Doctor Finley Rose (@evil-lordcatwich)🪀
THE INVENTOR
Doctor Rose is a professional at putting together masterpieces out of almost nothing at all. Their brilliant mind is credited with creating multiple concoctions and devises that exist solely for the cruel purpose of torture.
They make billions of dollars each year by selling their brilliant creations across dimensional thresholds to the villains short of time to create their own contraptions.
It's possible to find the doctor working well into the wee hours of the morning on some brilliant machine in their laboratory, located in a secluded area of Washington.
Finley never, ever speaks of their past truthfully, making up some new variation of a story on the spot if they’re asked too much. The most anyone can glean is that they “fell in with the wrong people and paid for it”, and that “It did get me where I am today, so that's a plus."
Interpersonal relationships:
Madame Minthe Serendipity: "They're cool. Not much else to say, not yet."
Dr. Cami Einar: "She's really fun to annoy! She makes really great stuff, too- every time I… borrow one of her inventions, it's like a whole new world opens up!"
Phoenix:

~ Doctor Camy Einar (@evillittlebookworm69) 🧪
THE ALCHEMIST
Wronged and unfairly betrayed, Doctor Cami Einar used to be a top-ranking scientist and researcher working under the highest set of laboratories worldwide.
An incident occurred where a fire greedily devoured one of the laboratories overnight, destroying years of important research left unprotected inside. All fingers pointed to Cami-- not because of proof, but because she was the only woman working there. Since that moment, her coworkers were sure that she was intent on harming them, and they began to shun and belittle her.
One day, tired of all the abuse, she snapped. If they feared that she intended to harm them... she would. She would become the exact person they feared, the exact person they wanted to see.
A villain.
Interpersonal relationships:
Dr. Finley Rose: "A tall rat. An annoying, smart, sneaky and migraine-inducing rodent."
Madame Minthe Serendipity: "She's an interesting person. But in a good way. You can hold a conversation with her on a multitude of subjects. And she's pretty nice most of the time, unless you damage her files or her clothes. In that case, you are pretty much dead."
Phoenix: “I wasn’t too sure what to think of xem when Madame Minthe told me zey read a file on me. Now I’ve met xem, and I’m even less sure what to think.”

THE ASSASSIN
Mysterious and elusive, a mercenary known as Phoenix can be found roaming around almost anywhere, usually going unnoticed. Xey are known for extremely clean kills with no witnesses, and for successfully faking its death several times before ever getting caught for his crimes.
Growing up on the streets with only the name of Xavi quickly taught xem what a harsh and cruel world awaited for the unfortunate. However, its sharp wit and eventually honed weaponry skills helped teach Phoenix that becoming an assassin was a sure-fire way to make the money xey so desperately needed.
Now, if one is incredibly careful and manages to get a glimpse, Phoenix hides out in an abandoned warehouse. None dare to venture in, for because the house appears normal, it's truly impossible to know what will await on the inside.

Are you looking to be a writer or an actor?
(Sorry for the late & long answer Silvy I passed out last night after watching a movie with my girlfriend. I also apologize for my outburst I woke up from a nap and didn't let my logic brain take over.) Eventually.....Yes! I know others have the right to their own opinions but I can't let that rip away my dreams of achieving my goals I've been working since '15. I actually have a lot (like 10-15) of scripts in which a couple of them are MLP action movies that I would like to be in motion capture which is one of my favorite type of acting to see and would love to do (If they can turn doctor strange into a dragon in the hobbit, we definitely have the technology to make motion capture MLP). I've backlogged them because I lost interest for the last seven years to write anything. I go back to them every once in a while to show how shitty of a writer and amateur I was before college. I've even done acting for a while as well. Mostly stage acting back in middle school where I did Shakespeare (Othello, Hamlet, & yes Romeo & Juliet) and college (I got to do a scene from a good play called 'Red' where I got to show off my acting skills in front of people not even familiar or interested in acting and I raised a few eyebrows indeed. Yes a lot of movies seem lack of creativity but there are a lot of them that do like a movie that me and my partner @noxs-mun watched last night which was 'Nimona' which was the best. I'm not gonna say nothing. This is one that you will have to watch yourself. Now, I have been on a professional movie set back in May, it was a horror feature length film called, 'Skinwalkers' and in which I was brought on as a Camera Production Assistant and where I met my new best friend Gene Sung (the Director of Photography) and I was promoted to 2nd Assistant Cameraman now I am a Assistant Cameraman they are both different job roles. 1st A.C. works closely to the D.P. and does all the focus pulling to make sure the shot isn't too blurry and it's very sharp (unless the shot require it to be blurry). At the end of the shoot day (depends on the set and director and how they want each day to go which is the Assistant Director's job. They come up with a schedule each night to say what shots need to be done each day and some days go from 10-19 hours) the assistant cameraman what we call 'media dump' onto a laptop or PC and save it in a folder along our shooting process. I just wanted to added that last part to kind of teach you about some of the behind the scenes work on what happens on a professional set in movies. The process is similar in television but they work on multiple episodes instead of a long movie. I agree to your point yes movies are getting longer and longer but for some of my scripts I kind of need that amount of time to put more into my stories. I'd love to discuss more of this with you and have a nice conversation about movies cause we share a lot of movies we like in our long friendship going on almost 10 years (as of April 14th of next year) Ghostbusters 1&2 (Fuck 2016 one. Haven't seen Afterlife yet) Mad Max (All of them. I just love all of them) if your laptop ever decides not to fuck up I am on discord in which I hold movie nights with my girlfriend every Friday. We're clearing our backlogs right now and watching something new as well. Love ya Silvy, ~Flare Flare

BGM: b-flower - North Marine Drive
This morning, during my work, I thought this - Why? Why had I started writing this journal? As you can see, every morning I wake up so early to write the journal about the previous day. And, every afternoon time I write various things using in English on my memo pad which will become the next day's journal. For about 2 years I have done this habit.
Once, when I was a teenager, my dream/ambition had been to become a professional author like Haruki Murakami. As I have written in this journal many times, I had even dreamed I could become a bestseller author and also a great translator. After breaking up all of my dreams completely, my drunken days had started. But when I was 40, I decided from the bottom of my mind that I shouldn't keep on drinking anymore, therefore started quitting. Yes, since that decision, 9 years have passed…
I need to talk about my journal… like that, once I had seriously dreamed to become a fiction writer. However, after having tried to write my novels' drafts, I had found that I am never such a amazingly talented person. My autism, scattered interests in my head, always disturbs my strict/steady thinking to achieve one strong, straight storytelling. So, I have had to give up becoming a novelist, instead I finally started writing my sudden/short ideas every morning time.
Now I wonder - how this journal writing looks like to you? Within Japan, I can see many journals (in public and in private) here and there. Although some people says that this kind of writings aren't as great as any big fictions. Indeed, I also respect great fictions which blow my mind so easily, and also completely (For example, as I have mentioned, Haruki's mega novels.)
But, now I want to say that journaling every day without any huge concept/ambition also can lead us to the great state. Remembering my reading history, I can see that many people have written great journals (I've read Eric Hoffer's, and also Andy Warhol's achievements.) Journaling can become a tiny collection of treasure for me, personally… I believe so.

And now, for something a little different...
I'm a published novelist! Crazy to say that here, where I've had this account since high school. Back then, I was only dreaming of being a professional writer. Now I am one!
If you'd like to support me by reading and/or reviewing my book, I'd be most grateful. You can find purchase links here, here, and here (B&N, Powell's, and Amazon, respectively).
Here's Muses official summary:
When one is in the midst of a depressive episode, it's a whirlwind. It's a ceaseless stream of doctor's appointments, psychiatric visits, therapy sessions, trips to the pharmacy, frantic late-night internet searches, well-meaning friends and family giving you unsolicited advice, and so on and so forth. While it may not feel like it at the time--as the fog is heavy, prominent, inescapable--the help is there, an ever-present weight against the back.
But what of when it's all over?
When the dust settles, and the cloud lifts, who or what is there to assist in picking up the pieces, in sorting through the rubble? The medication is eased, and the therapy is lessened. But what is one to do with this life in tatters, this new and foreign existence no longer encumbered? Depression is a curse, indeed, but if it's around long enough, it's easy to view it as a comfort, a constant, a familiar face in the crowd.
So when it is gone, what is one to do with the void left behind?
In Muses, one writer strives to find out.
(Also, yes, that is my real name on the book; let's all be cool about this.)

A BETTER WORD THAN HONESTY
Whether in our personal lives or our professional lives, our communication is the lifeblood of our relationships, and our relationships are the foundation of our leadership, and our leadership is the core of our ultimate success. Please note however, it all starts with our communication. That is precisely why giving diligent attention to all elements of our communication is in everyone’s best interests.
Do we genuinely want to be honest?
We’ve all been there either as the perpetrator or the recipient or both. Someone wants to garner attraction, be persuasive, drive home a point, close a sale, and then it happens. The conversation is prefaced with some version of these frequently used phrases: “To be honest with you, . . .” or “In all honesty, . . . ” or “Honestly, . . .” or “If I’m really being honest with you, . . .”
I call these various phrases “honesty validators.” Somehow we believe by incorporating “honest” or “honesty” or “honestly” into our conversation, we thereby validate the truth of our words. After all, we referenced the fundamental virtue of honesty and therefore it must be more convincing. This approach suggests the transmission of insider information to which other parties do not have access; a very special favor is involved. Because a very special favor is being done, we infer it must be based on honesty, truth, and integrity. At least those are the implications that usually run through people’s minds. Unfortunately, all the above belies the presence of honesty, truth, and integrity.
Do we want to send an unintended message?
When we use honesty validators, an unintended, tragic, potent message is sent. By virtue of drawing special attention to the honesty of this communication, it implicitly sends the message that “yes, I’m being honest with you at this moment, but all my other past and future statements to you might be dishonest. So can you ever really trust me?” Perhaps that is why a very wise man once said let your yes be yes and your no be no. Adding certain qualifiers often undermines the integrity of the statement. Naturally, most people hear this and immediately declare, “No, I am being honest all the time!” Unfortunately, the unintended message contradicts that declaration, and it is the unintended message that has consequences with which we might not be happy.
If we are serious about the highest quality communication in our highest quality relationships driving our highest quality leadership, then let’s cease using these honesty validators. They merely communicate everything you actually do not want to communicate in your highest quality communication in your highest quality relationships driving your highest quality leadership.
Do we have a better word than honesty?
From repetition, habit, or example, we have all fallen prey to these honesty validators. If we genuinely want to refine our communication, then we must give deep attention to the words we use because like it or not, words have meaning, and that includes the meaning we intend to convey and the meaning the recipient interprets (which may or may not be the same). Therefore, we must ask ourselves, do we have a better word than honesty that would convey the actual meaning we want to convey? What is a word that faithfully conveys the noble nature of our communication? What is a word that does not intrinsically taint the veracity of our tongue the moment we utter it?
As a lifelong communicator and writer, I have not been immune to this problem. Indeed, I have often been one of its many victims much to my frustration at the damages it causes when I succumb. Nevertheless, having given considerable thought to this perplexing challenge, I have arrived at a solution that works very well for me. Perhaps it will for you too.
Don’t be honest—be clear.
In these communication contexts, I believe the infinitely superior simple solution is to replace honesty validators with what I call “clarity validators.” Ultimately, honesty validators while thought to be indicators of truth, are actually indicators of falsehood. Clarity validators are indicators of truth. Ponder whether you are more comfortable with these clarity validators that were formerly written as honesty validators.
• To be clear with you, . . . . • In all clarity, . . . . • Clearly, . . . . • If I’m really being clear with you, . . . .
Clarity validators do not destroy the core of your soul and virtue. If anything, they elicit respect, comfort, and confidence because the recipient realizes you are trying to add accuracy and precision to your communication. On the other hand, honesty validators fundamentally destroy the core of your soul and virtue.
People will typically forgive you for fumbling clarity because anyone can make a mistake. People have a much harder time forgiving you for fumbling honesty because honesty is a choice. Therefore, unless you actually want to reveal that your words cannot be trusted, then let’s eliminate honesty validators from our conversation and instead employ clarity validators.
Prepare for your mind’s battle.
If you embrace this clarity validator logic and determine to replace all your honesty validators with clarity validators, then prepare for battle! It took me a very long time to reprogram and reinforce all my autopilot statements in my cerebral language library. At times it was very frustrating because I often caught myself the moment after my honesty validators rolled off the tip of my tongue. Nevertheless, if you genuinely embrace the clarity validator logic, then you owe it to yourself and your audience to master this linguistic method. Eventually, you will succeed in replacing your mental library of honesty validators with clarity validators, and everyone will be better for it.
Clearly, if I can do it, you can too.

HEXAGRAM 2023
‘With Love and Knowledge drove out innocence, the key of Joy is disobedience’.
The foul war crimes continue care of dwarf slaphead Vlad and his fat Nosferatu wannabe president Prigozhin of the despicable Wagner group. The latter have just legally registered themselves as a company concerned with ‘management consulting’. Yevgeny was a former petty violent criminal and is now a serious professional criminal, (the scum also rises.) Shame there is nothing possible in democracies as a slow public execution broadcast live. The Russian Chuckle brothers have a vast amount of truly innocent blood on their hands and their degrading end cannot come soon enough.
The angry irrelevant like me still dream of the day when such bastards are righteously punished. Start at the top and work right down to culpable cretins like Trump, Boris and Matt Hancock. In-between Bolsanaro, Erdogan, above them Myanmar’s army, Kim Wrong ‘Un and Xi. Perhaps just the stocks and rotten cabbages for the Scottish leader and Farage. And castration for the execrable Tate brothers.
Expel Chang Frick from Sweden immediately and let him live in Russia.
Shock news…Brexit seems to be failing (the writer almost gloats…(but he is living inside the nightmare now, not observing from a safe distance) on every level other than the one where the rich keep their untaxable loot safe offshore and command poor hugely replaceable drones to do their bidding. And unless I am not careful/lucky, I will become one of the latter’s ranks very soon. ‘England awakes, England expectorates, all hope evaporates’. Land of hopeless stories…the untied kingdom with an abundance of food banks. This country is worse off than all the other G7 nations in terms of health care, work, pay, time off, culture…fill in the blanks with live ammunition.
A three-day weekend for the king’s coronation to show Britain ‘as it is today’. Diverse, multicultural, woke, vapid, amoral, racist and disintegrating? If the prison island is still floating after the nuclear tsunami from Putin’s submarines. And some cretins are proposing Boris ‘Let the bodies pile high’ Johnson as leader of NATO. Yes, that would be a GOOD idea, wouldn’t it?
And oh, get me OUT of this ridiculous country, a trigger warning has been placed on The Rime of the Ancient Mariner by Coleridge… a content warning of ‘animal death’, ie ‘I shot the albatross’.  For feck’s sake, really? Aside from the fact the poem is a classic masterpiece and the action heralds a long stream of disaster and bad luck for the sailor (and thus its own warning perhaps), this is the latest in a heart crippling list of utter cow manure ideas from MORONS for the new generation of the weak. Sooner or later…obituaries themselves will come with a trigger warning. Death is inevitable you lily livered wusses.
‘Religion is a business and in business you have to protect your copyright’
‘When trade stops, war starts’ Chinese saying. Indeed, and their recent pronouncements at Davos economic Forum indicate a desire to re-join and open up in the high holy name of business. Covid rampant, birth-rate falling there for the first time in sixty years but nothing good for all those murdered or ‘ re-educated’ for the sake of noble Communist ideas…and the unwilling donors of Falun Gong members who had their clean organs harvested for the rich. Winnie the Pooh is a pig, four legs good, two legs better,eh? All the blank paper protestors vanishing, forced to sign a blank arrest warrant. ‘Picking quarrels and provoking trouble’ is the charge against silent protests. 10 years max. Cant rule without being cruel eh? Fk the Chinese government. Good luck Cao Zhixin.
Elon Musk the saviour of Twitter and reinstating Trump, quoted ‘The people have spoken, vox populi, vox dei’…interesting to note the full version from which that Latin comes is ‘And those people should not be listened to who keep saying the voice of the people is the voice of God, since the riotousness of the crowd is always very close to madness’. Reminds me again of Churchill’s quote ‘the best argument against democracy is a five-minute conversation with an average voter’. The apparent all powering desire of Boris to be seen as a latter-day Winston rather than what he is, a pound shop Trump is somewhere between hilarious and terrifying. But aren’t most things?
Pronoun badges. An advert which proudly announces you are a tosser. Oh I am not in a good enough mood to follow my principles but in the safe space neophobes verses the it’s fun to explore neophiles, I despise both extreme left and right, the woke and anyone else dumb enough not to think for themselves. The Dalai Lama (goddess bless him) I am not. Be yourself, everyone else is taken. Explore, experiment, harm none but do what you Will.
‘For a Fuhrer to exist, there must be masses with a submissive imprint on that circuit’. Reality is What You Make It. R.A.W. Hail Victory, arf.
‘And since we’re all quantum systems, we’re in all possible states until we take our measurements, as it were’.Geddit? More Robert Anton Wilson.
San Francisco’s Open AI, backed by Q Onan’s favourite antichrist Bill Gates has unleashed ChatGPT…which, amongst other drear functions, has been set to task writing songs. A machine writing of emotions and images it will never experience might almost qualify as a type of psychopath with a good imagination (and there are a few such famous folk who have had their books published) but cold pure logic and random word play will never inspire any humans other than those most similar to machines. Poetry, fascination and longing expressed without a soul of light or a mind of lust, fire and loss. It does however make sense in these times of virtual Meta reality tv that certain types of primates might attain a numb thrill as their spirit slows to inertia. Souls in total stasis.
Oh God, ‘How art thou Nothing when thou art most of all?’
Carer’s Breakdown Diary …Five weeks ago I came downstairs at 7 am to find my mother kneeling on the carpet with her head on the bed, leggings and pants down, surrounded by excrement and broken glass because of falling from the commode. I carried her over the mess, took her to the freezing kitchen, washed her feet and checked for cuts, washed her legs, got her dressed. Carried her back into the sitting room, brought her pills and a drink and spent two hours cleaning the carpet. The glass of water had been on her bedside table and I was an idiot to have left it there. Just luck there were no cuts. She hadn’t called for help. Just waited for me, could have been there for thirty mins.  After hospital, thirty eight days at the home she bought 33 years ago and still asking me ‘When can I go home?’
Mum goes walkabout at night, swears she is unaware of the care with which she removes obstacles which I later set up to hear if she left the room. Three months ago I woke at 5am to hear the landing creaking and stopped her just as she was stepping into the darkness of the top stair. Got a baby gate and was told it impinged on her civil liberties by a social worker. Moved her bed downstairs and woke early to hear her trying to come upstairs. I put Christmas lights around the commode and 4 sensor lights and this still didn’t help enough at night to remember. Maximum of four hours sleep every night, sleeping with one ear open for thumps. I have said exhausted angry things to mum that if I heard anyone saying to their ill, elderly mother, I would punch them into a hospital.
Her phases of not knowing me at all are increasing. Two weeks of mum in a care home…respite they call it, or Carers Break, to give me a break. (She lost 3kg there and already looked emaciated before going.) I visited mum last week; she was sitting in the hall in pyjamas I did not know. Did not recognise her with head slumped, had to get on my knees to look carefully. Spent thirty mins with mum then went to her room to unpack some extra clothes I had brought. Returned ‘You can’t sit there, David will be back soon’.
Today I spent an hour looking at all the photos mum saved of my life in Prague and for the first time since coming back in June, I felt the pang of missing Czech. Half of my life in Bohemia. I also found many photos I had never seen of mum at all stages of her life, actually smiling in many of them in our old garden or her on holiday in Guernsey and happy. A small but detailed diary she had kept of her two weeks there which I found in a box next to my childish diary of a holiday in the same place along with many many other memories. I spent over an hour howling with tears and making animal noises. Guilt and pain. Death cannot exist but decay seems to be bloody real. Fk cancer.
Was administering oral morphine at home in drops after having to call district nurses to come at 4am to inject. My mother is eating and drinking less and less, closing down. I will stop here for this one. February 3rd, mum in a hospice for four days, refusing all pills, so only morphine pump slow release. Visiting tomorrow and will be unlikely to want to re edit or revisit this piece.
Stay well and Love more. Much more.

“HOW DO I FOUND MY DREAM JOB”
Everyone is meant with different destiny. Each of individual has our own dream.  A dream that we think the best job for ourselves, a profession that we could be proud of.
I live my young lives simple, imperfect and I could say that I really don’t enjoy my child life not because I have strict parents but because since I was young, I prefer staying at home than socializing with my childhood but at the young age, I start to dream to be professional someday. While on my primary grades, there is no profession comes on my mind that I wanted to become but, on this level, want I want is to use a ballpen and a yellow pad on my class. It’s funny indeed but yes, this are my simple dream during my 3rd grade because I thought these days that pencil is not what I want to use when I write that also the time, I started to dream of becoming a teacher. But as the days have passed, I once saw a police officers in our province and I thought, I wanted to become a policewoman because their uniform is kind of unique. I was on my fifth grade when I started to dream to be a teacher. I thought on the last three years of my elementary, I wrap up my mind of becoming a teacher in the future, but it is also what I thought.
During my Junior High School, I started to dream on different profession like I want to become a fire woman, a photographer, a writer, a news anchor, and many more but what really, I wanted to become is to be a flight attendant. I also remember that there is one time, a graduating student form BS Social Work from this University (St. Paul University Philippines) come in our school for the interview, I don’t remember what for is the interview, but I remembered when she asked me what I want to become, and I proudly say “Gusto ko pong maging flight attended”. I still remember her expression in that time w=and what she answered is, “A flight attendant should at least 5’4 in height”. I know she didn’t exactly say that I am not good in that profession but what she has answered make me realized a lot of things like “how should my parents finance my course”, How should I be able to enter that course when they have physical preferences”?
Years passed; I was on my 11th grade when I decided to become a teacher. Yes, finally I comeback on my first dream profession.  I finished my senior high school with that dream. I live those years thinking that someday, in Gods permit I will successfully become a teacher. So, when I graduated Senior High School, I take the entrance exam in Cagayan State University with my three choices profession. 1st, Based Math, 2nd, BS Math, and 3rd is social worker.  I passed my exam with a rate that are applicable for the choices I want, but unfortunately, I processed my papers late that’s why I didn’t get slot, so the teacher offers another course for me. I accepted the offer, Education also but I started to enroll in other universities with my dream course. Sadly, enrolling online is the biggest struggle I have experienced.
God always have a purpose in every situation indeed, because when I am struggling to enroll in the different Universities with my dream course, an alumnus of SPUP who once become my dormmate during my senior high school sent me a message saying that SPUP is offering scholarship for college students. So, I grab the opportunity, despite of the struggle travelling from our town to this university, I traveled on the said date for me to catch up for the start of the school year. I enrolled Bachelor of Secondary Education major in Mathematics right away.
Taking this course is challenging specially that, I started my university course through online. When my second year is about to end, and one of my final requirements is demonstration with our done lesson plan, I started to think twice. “How could I finish and stand with my course when I have a stage fright?” But fortunately, I successfully finished my first two years, and I am now on my third year.
Balancing my academic and my responsibility as student aid is much more challenging for me, but with the help of those people who supporting and believing in me become my inspiration to continue the race of my chosen field.  And with the guidance from the above, I know I, in the future become an educator like those teachers who inspire me to dream with that profession.
Teachers thought the young one on how to read and write, inspires the child to dream on and to work for it. Some teachers are teaching not only academically but also for personal touch of young lives.  A teacher that motivates the young ones to continue the race of every individuals dream and chosen field. They say, “TEACHER IS THE NOBLEST PROFESSION” and I know, choosing this field will be more worth it and I will be proud of someday.

A while before the latest hoo-ha about Judith Butler, I had just been reading her again. Though she claims her critics have not read her, this simply isn’t the case. I read Gender Trouble when it first came out and it was important at the time . That time was long, long ago. She was just one of the many ‘post-structuralist’ thinkers I was into. I would trip off to see  Luce Irigaray or Derrida whenever they appeared.
I got an interview  with Baudrillard and tried to sell it to The Guardian but they  didn’t know who he was so its fair to say I was fairly immersed in that world of theory.  For a while, I had a part time lecturing job so I had to keep on top of it. Though Butler’s idea of gender as performance was not new , it was interesting.  RuPaul said it so much more clearly in a  quote nicked from  someone else “Honey ,we are born naked, the rest is drag”
What I was looking for again , I guess is not any clarity – her writing is famously and deliberately difficult-  but whether there was ever any sense of the material body. She wrote herself in 2004 “I confess however I am not a very good materialist. Every time I try to write about the body, the writing ends up being about language” .
Butler from on high ,cannot really think about the body at all which is why they (Butler’s chosen pronoun) are now the high priestess of a particular kind of trans ideology.  The men who worship Butler are not versed in high theory. The fox botherer had a “brain swoon” at some very ordinary things Butler said. Mr Right Side of history nodded along in an interview. Clearly neither of these men are versed in any of this philosophy and would be better off sticking to tax law and the decline of the Labour Party. Butler is simply a totem for them.
Butler said in the Guardian interview for instance  “Gender is an assignment that does not just happen once: it is ongoing. We are assigned a sex at birth and then a slew of expectations follow which continue to “assign” gender to us.”
So yeah? That’s a fairly basic view of the social construction of gender though I take issue with the assigned at birth thing ,which I will come back to and why I started reading her again in the first place.
This phrase “Assigned sex at birth” is now common parlance but simply does not make sense  to me. I am living with someone who is pregnant. I have given birth three times and been a birthing  partner. I know where babies come from. There is a deep disconnect here between language and reality which no amount of academic jargon can obliterate.
Babies  come from bodies. Not any bodies but bodies that have a uterus. They grew inside a woman’s body until they  get pushed out or dragged out into the world.
The facts of life that we are now to be liberated from in the form of denial. Only one sex can have babies but we must now somehow not say that. The pregnant “people” of Texas will now be forced into giving birth to children they don’t want because they are simply “host bodies”. The language of patriarchal supremacy and that of some of the trans ideologues is remarkably close, as is their biological ignorance.
There is no foetal heatbeat at six weeks for instance. When a baby is born , doctors and midwives do not randomly assign a sex, they observe it and they do it though genitalia.
There is a question over a tiny percentage of babies ,less that one percent with DSDs but even then they are sexed with doctors having  difficult conversations with parents about what may happen later.
Somehow, though when I read the way in which this is now all discussed it is clear to me that the people talking have never been pregnant, never had a foetal scan, never been near a birth , never miscarried, do not understand that even with a still birth babies are still sexed and often named.
If you want to know the sex of your baby you can pay privately and know at 7 weeks ((*49-56 days from the first day of the mother’s last menstrual cycle). A 12 week scan will show it. That is why so many female foetuses are aborted . I have reported on this.
Talking to paediatricians about this is interesting because they do indeed have to think through these things that we are being told are not real eg. that sex is just a by-product of colonialism for instance.  Sometimes pre-conception , geneticists will be looking at chromosomes because certain diseases are more likely in men or women. Males have a higher risk of haemophilia for instance.
One doctor told me “When babies are premature, the survival advantage of females over males is well known throughout neonatology. This is sometimes something we talk about with parents when there is threatened premature labour around 23 weeks' gestation and options to discuss about resuscitation and medical interventions. In fertility treatment (or counselling around fertility in the context of medical treatments) it is pretty inherent to know whether we need to plan around sperm, or ova + pregnancy.”
She also said that if she involved in a birth that “assigning” isn’t the word she world use. “Observed genitals a highly reliable observation, just like measuring weight or head circumference which is also done at this time. “ Another doctor said that anyone involved with a trans man giving birth  would be doing the best for the patient in front  of them.
Sex then is biological fact. A female baby will have all the eggs she will ever have when she is first born which is kind of amazing. It is not bio-essentialist to say that our sexed bodies are different nor is it transphobic to recognise it.
Except of course in my old newspaper ,The Guardian who are now so hamstrung by their  own ideology they have got their knickers in such a twist they can barely walk.  They completely misreported the WiSpa incident , basically ignored the Sonia  Appleby  judgement at the Tavistock. Appleby was a whistle blower ,a respected professional concerned with safe guarding. She won her case. The cherry on the cake this week was an interview with Butler, themselves (?) in which they went on about Terfs being fascists and needing to extend the category of women.
Does anyone EVER stop to think that most gender critical women are of the left, supporters of gay rights, often lesbian and that this is not America? We are not in bed with the far right. This is bollocks. Just another way to dismiss us.
As we watch Afghanistan and Texas ,to say Butler’s words were tone deaf is to say the least. But they didn’t even have the guts to keep the most offensive stuff in the piece and overnight edited it out without really explaining why : the bits where Butler described gender critical people as fascist. Perhaps because the person their “reporters” had  defended against  transphobia at WiSpa turned out to be a known sex offender,  perhaps because someone pointed out that Butler was throwing around the word fascist rather like Rik Mayall used to do in the Young Ones.
All of this is rather desperate and readers deserve better. When I left that newspaper I said that I thought and expected editors to stand up for their writers in public. Instead they go into some catatonic paralysis. I may have not liked this interview but it should never have been cut. Stand by what you publish or your credibility is shot.
But this is about more than Judith Butler and their refusal to support women . Butler is not really any kind of feminist at all. What this is about is the large edifice of trans ideology  crumbling when any real analysis is applied. Yes, I have read Shon Faye’s book and there are some interesting points in it and I totally agree that the lives of trans people should be easier and health care better . I have never said anything but that.
What Faye does in the book is say that there can be no trans liberation under capitalism so there will be a bit of a wait I suspect.
Yet surely it is the other way round and what we are seeing is that trans ideology (not trans people – I am making a distinction here ) represent the apex of capitalism .
For it means that the individual decides their own gendered essence and then spends a fortune on surgery and a lifetime on medication to achieve the appearance of it. Of course lots of people spend a lifetime  on medication but not out of choice.  Marx understood very well that the abolition of our system of production would free up women.
Now it is all about freeing up men. Who say they are women. Quelle surprise.
Nussbaum’s famous take down of Butler is premised exactly on the sense of individual versus collective struggle “ The great tragedy in the new feminist theory in America is the loss of a sense of public commitment. In this sense, Butler’s self-involved feminism is extremely American, and it is not surprising that it has caught on here, where successful middle-class people prefer to focus on cultivating the self rather than thinking in a way that helps the material condition of others. “
Such thinking now dominates academia. There is simply an unquestioning  rehearsal of something most of know not to be true thus Amia Srinivasan writes in The Right to Sex  “At birth, bodies are sorted as ‘male’ or ‘female’, though many bodies must be mutilated to fit one category or the other, and many bodies will later protest against the decision that was made. This originary division determines what social purpose a body will be assigned.”
What does ‘sorted’ mean here? A tiny number of intersex babies are born. A tiny number of people are trans and decide to change their bodies. The feminist demand to challenge gender norms without mutilating any one’s body no longer matters. What matters now is this retrograde return  to some gendered soul. This is not something any decent Marxist would have any truck with . Of course one may change over a lifetime and of course gender is never ‘settled.’ We are complex people who inhabit bodies that often don’t work or appear as we want them to.
But not only is there a denial of basic Marxism going on here , what becomes ever more apparent is  that there is a denial of motherhood. Butler said “Yet gender is also what is made along the way – we can take over the power of assignment, make it into self-assignment, which can include sex reassignment at a legal and medical level.”
Self-assignment is key . One may birth oneself. No longer of woman born but self -made. This is a theoretical leap but it also one that has profound implications for women as a sex class. We are really then, just the  host bodies to a new breed of people who self-assign.
Maybe that is the future although look around the word and there isn’t a lot of self-assignment going on. There are simply women shot and beaten in the street, choked to death or having  their rights taken  away. There is no identifying out of this , there is no fluidity here . This is not discourse. It is brutality and do we not have some responsibility to other women to confront male violence ?
Instead the hatred is aided and abetted by so called philosophers describing  other women as Terfs. It is utterly depressing.
The sexed body. The pregnant body. The dying body. The body is in trouble when we can’t talk about it . I thought of Margaret Mary O’Hara’s  beautiful and  strange lyrics and what they might mean. I await my child’s return from the hospital as hers is a difficult pregnancy and thank god they are on the case. The sex of the child she carries does not matter to me at all .
It simply exists. Not in language but within a body.
Why is that so difficult to acknowledge?

New Potential Possibilities
Ok so as Baekdo nation runs to grasp at straws for new theories (I’m one of those clowns 🤡 cause I still ✨believe✨), there’s a couple of new info that they’ve found.
1. A child saying “Appa”
In the 2009 interview, before Yejin answers Hee do’s question of “have you been well?”, you can hear a child saying “Appa”, which is Korean for “Dad”. Now I went and checked, and it’s definitely there. I heard it too. After the kid says “Appa”, Yejin answers “yes”. Now this doesn’t necessarily prove anything, if it’s Minchae, she could be calling out her dad who’s not Yejin who’s there with her mom. Although it does sound like it’s coming from the studio and not the competition arena, but it could be from Heedo’s side too. I’m not too sure tbh. BUT, from a storyteller point of view is kinda dumb to put it in there, if it’s not related to the main plot. Not to mention, Yejin congratulated her marriage. If she already has a kid, shouldn’t he be congratulating the birth of the child? Cause considering it’s Korea, she probably got married first then had the kid. Meaning it wouldn’t make sense to congratulate a wedding when there’s already a freaking child born after said wedding. Timeline wise you’d congratulate the kid, cause it’s more near and relevant. Unless culturally, it’s not normal or polite to congratulate on birth of children? Idk. I don’t know this part makes no sense to me either. Of course there’s the option of sound engineering monumentally fucking up and it’s actually some crew members random kid that they forgot to mute in the scene. But right now, I am convinced that’s it’s very suspicious. It could be Minchae calling out her dad, Yejin. We will see I guess.
2. Apparently Yejin is married too?
Tumblr media
As you can see, there’s a shiny ring in his finger. Now last time I checked, Asian men don’t really have the “wear a wedding ring” culture like in the West. So having this be here, is an intentional choice cause it’s not that normal. It’s an imported concept from the West, and not actually part of Korean/Asian culture (based on my research and experience). So, him having a ring on his wedding finger is indeed very suspicious in this context. That means the show is hinting at something. Now again, it doesn’t prove anything. It can mean that he too married some other woman. But, like the previous example, it’s SUS. Very highly suspicious.
3. The “Kim” teaser photos
Tumblr media
Now people have done some digging, and according to some people, the teaser photos has the name Kim Do Hee written under Yejin’s article. Now I don’t know how accurate it is, cause why would he have a pen name when he’s out here on TV mentioning his name as Baek Yejin. Unless this is his “private” persona? And not the public figure Baek Yejin? Idk. They could potentially do something with this. It would solve the Kim Minchae issue. I’m not too sure though about this one. But the fact that it’s in the teasers, it’s suspicious too.
My two cents: I just think it’s super duper cruel to have them both married to other people and having to add a child who’s from another man into this scene like this. And say “Appa” to said other man, In front of Yejin. Like the writers have to be VERY mean. This scene could have easily had the same effect had the ring and child weren’t there. To add them in, when they’re not related to Baekdo at all… it’s very Cruel. Not to mention, y’all both moved on and married other people, but here you are doing that emotional MESS of an interview on national television in front of your current spouses? Call the ethics police. The heck?😂 As for the name, it would definitely solve the “Kim” issue. And I can see Yejin doing something like that to get rid of his worries of his professional life and private life mixing up together. But I don’t know, the fact that it’s the opposite of Heedo’s name is a bit too cheesy? 😂 idk about that one honestly, but it’s possible.
Of course this could all be bullshit, and the reality is they just didn’t end up together. Which ok, cool. But the fact that these little details were included is suspicious, let’s be honest. I also, after having watched Kdrama’s for years, find the pacing of the show to be bizarre. It constantly feels like they’re gonna do a plot twist. The fact that they revealed her marriage, yet there’s still two episodes left is weird to me, from a narrative perspective. Not to mention in next episode we’re actually gonna see them as a couple, so why would they blow the hype, when we now already know they don’t end up together? Narratively, what’s the point of watching the next episode of them being together? We potentially know they’re not endgame. Why have the audience watch their demise in the last two episodes? It just doesn’t make too much narrative sense to me. I feel like there’s more to it and there’s gonna be a plot twist. Needless to say, this is where we currently stand Baekdo nation. There may be a small glimmer of hope after all. I’m manifesting a happy ending ✨✨

DAY 4791
Jalsa, Mumbai                   Apr 10/11,  2021                Sat/Sun  12:04 AM
Birthday - EF  Lyudmila Zueva .. Sunday, April 11 .. wishes for your birthday and the desire to be safe nad be protected in your environ .. love from the Ef ..❤️
The desire to put details of time and years spent in the work I do .. in the films worked on .. in the details or stories pertaining to those times .. in any incidents occurred .. in .. whatever ..!!!
So there is refrain and restraint .. life is not about interviews .. to be given in the spent of another for the commerce of another ..
Firstly of course there is the most strongest of feels that the details or connects or conversations giving those events have nothing to do with the one that records it .. they are mine .. they should remain with me .. the idea of the ‘I’ is daunting somehow .. I did this , I went here , I felt this , I ..I I I .. so many I’s ..
The ‘I ‘ is me .. there is wonder then if it can be another’s .. do they really understand or accept or believe or feel the ‘I’ that I have .. and that dissuades me from accepting the request or at times the demand for the concept ..
And they come each hour virtually these days .. a symptom of age and ageing .. “ get him to talk before he leaves the World .. else we shall never know .. or shall never be able to exploit it .. for the public or the self ..”
Is perhaps the refrain in the minds of them that wish it ..
And my hesitancy needs to be understood and not be looked upon as arrogance and ego .. no .. many that I politely dissuade or come away from are graceful in accepting my response .. and I am thankful for that and indeed more ..
.. because there is at the end of it all an, unknown by others, a great disappointment for them .. for they shall get nothing that may be of any interest to any .. so ..
.. allow me to be in my self ..
.. egoistic .. narcissistic .. self centred .. self seeking .. vain .. !
I shall accept all , but shall not give in , I do hope .. and pray ..
Yes I shall not resist any other from exercising their own will and knowledge and interpretation belief and knowledge about me .. I am after all in the public domain , one where it shall be difficult to remain away , when all  that we professionally do is to remain with them ..
.. remaining with them is profession .. remaining with me is my employment with me .. a reserve that shall need passwords to submit accede to .. you may guess the password, fluke it , guess it , track back in this so called secure preserve of the various internet traps of the advertised categories .. but it shall still be uninformed and unconfirmed .. and that shall be my submission in the courts of law .. better put, in the courts of the self , where the judge jury prosecution and defence shall all be played , hopefully amicably , with the writer of this four thousand seven hundred and ninety first missive ..
BUT .. the respect for the details that come in abundance from love and desire and affection must have respect .. and care and feel of the dedication devotion and the love that comes to me each hour from the Ef ..
.. and Moses Sapir , the keeper .. has this to say today ..
46 years of ‘Chupke Chupke’ , closing in today :
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
.. the great Hrishikesh Mukerjee .. and the most number of films that I did with him .. perhaps now Ramu - Ram Gopal Varma has overtaken him - and this from “chupke chupke’ .. this house that you see in the picture with Jaya is now Jalsa .. it was the home of Producer NC Sippy .. was bought by us then sold , bought again rebuilt and became Jalsa .. renamed after it was first called Mansa .. Mansa the Mother of this generational family of the Father .. the originator of this legacy of Bachchan .. not the Mother but perhaps the great great grandmother  ..
tradition must be given respect dignity and honour  ..
Mansa .. changed to be named Jalsa .. and the lawn behind Jalsa , a small lawn , acquired later, has been named Mansa ..
many important films were shot inside these premises .. Anand , Namak Haram, Chupke Chupke , Guddi , Satte pe Satta and several others  ..
.. reflections .. that is all that shall be left behind ..
It is the beckoning of the bed now .. but the desire to go to it is hesitant addressal  .. if there be such word .. for when you retire for the night - and it is important to specify that, for fear of the entity of ‘breaking news’, there is just the bed and the lethargic act of sleep .. which comes in the thoughts of memorised events , or at times when it does not , the counting upto whenever the counting disappears .. much like on the Operating Table just when they are about to make incision on your body the anaesthetic administered , the kind gentleman that has just given the passing out drug shall politely ask you if you know your counting or not .. say it he says ..
.. and by the time you reach 8 or 9 .. its over .. gone into oblivion .. out for the count .. out for all the procedures to begin , with precision and surgical excellence .. the Gods of the medical fraternity .. God made them special .. when they open up the hitherto unseen insides of the human body , they and only they can realise the complexity of our making and why we resolve and be dependent on and pay obeisance to ‘the Maker’ .. He and only He can explain how He did it .. because its is beyond human know .. beyond by millenniums to the power of infinity ..
.. and they, the medical fraternity, study it and excel in it and execute the procedures and know and execute .. and still to this day , have not been able despite their dexterity , to give a believable answer to the trillions of questions that arise ..

.. so signing of ..

Mercury Roadrunner's Interview about Freddie Mercury with Peter Freestone – Part I
Thanks very much to Mercury Roadrunner (Pavel Strashnyy) for letting me share his amazing interviews! Originally shared here. Check the tag "MR interview with Phoebe" to see the other parts.
Here are the 5 topics of this interview, beginning of each topic is written in bold:
1. Live Aid
2. The Works tour
3. "Mr. Bad Guy" album and recording period
4. "Heaven For Everyone", Freddie's habits about listening to music, opinions on Madonna, Montserrat
5. Swimming and memories about Los Angeles, Ibiza, Japan
Mercury Roadrunner: Good evening, ladies and gentlemen. We welcome you to the unofficial Russian Queen fan club special program. You can find our website at www.vk.com/queenrocks. I am knownn as Mercury Roadrunner. This year marks the 50th anniversary of Queen. And I’m very happy to say that this evening we have a very, very special guest here with us, and it is an opera critic, a book lover, biographer and writer, and close friend, confident and personal assistant of Freddie Mercury, Mr Peter Freestone. Hello, Peter. How are you? Peter Freestone: Hi. I am… okay. I’m good, I’m good. What can I say? I’m good. PS: You are good and you are very happy to join the other Queen fans who would be very happy to hear you finally talking. And the first topic is about your personal memories. It’s a historic date but what are your own personal memories of 13th of July, the Live Aid day, what were your feelings in general on that day? PF: For me, I suppose, it was just another show… [laughs] PS: Really? PF: Because I worked for Freddie and he was going to do a show. I didn’t separate that from all the other performers that were going to be there, that made it such an incredible day. And not only in London, when they were also performing in America as well at the same time. When the satellite was showing something from London, then it showed something from Philadelphia, then back to London again. So to say, for me it was… another day. It wasn’t even as though there were such a big show because we’d played stadiums in South America. So, it wasn’t the size of the audience. I suppose, when it really struck me what was happening was when the band went onto stage. And the roar from the crowd was absolutely amazing. Again, it wasn’t so different from normal shows because they’d actually rehearsed for their twenty minutes. You know, there was four days’ rehearsal. So to say, it was normal, it was normal work, it was a short show. But then, thing is, it was in daylight and Freddie could actually see the audience. And from the back of the stage, we could look through holes in the back, you know, the screen in the back. And we could see what the band could see. And… then it sort of struck me that, actually, this is something very special. And then I was really so very, very proud of them. At the end of their set, when, again, the audience reaction was indescribable. What they had done in those twenty minutes, they had picked up the whole audience, shook it around and put them back down again. PS: Indeed. PF: So, yeah, that was what I felt. PS: And do you remember some of Freddie’s jokes, maybe, during the day, the way he interacted with other superstars, like David Bowie or others? PF: The thing is, he [Freddie] was just one person amongst his peers, you know. All of the bands were names, they were bands. And the thing I have found, and this goes all the way – the real professionals are the most normal, approachable people on earth. It’s the wannabes who have the attitude of “Don’t you know who I am?” and who behave like stars, because stars behave like human beings. Real stars, they can be just like the rest of us. There was a time when Freddie just wanted to be on his own, you know, with just his friends, with his group of people. But I mean, there’s a few photographs of him chatting with various people, like Elton John and David Bowie. I remember seeing them with him, and Adam Ant. And, of course, he had friends along; I think Wayne Sleep was there as well. In his life, he [Freddie] needed people around him that made him laugh. And so, he still had that. David Bowie and he had been friends for so long. Elton [and he] had been friends for even longer. So, it was actually a chance for them to sit and catch up rather than, you know, being in front of the world press. They liked to spend time on their own, you know, talking to each other, really talking, not putting on a show. PS: So, I imagine that backstage on that day Freddie felt pretty much joyful and relaxed, right? PF: Yeah, on the day of the show, I never really saw Freddie nervous…
because, the thing is, it was too late by then [to be nervous]. You know, there was no point in being nervous anymore because the show was going to go on whether you were nervous or not. So, why be nervous? Just, you know, get on and do the show, enjoy yourself. PS: And do you remember, where did the idea of Freddie and Roger joining the Band Aid on stage in the final song, “Do They Know It’s Christmas”, came from? Or was it totally a spontaneous idea for them to join the others? PF: I think the idea at that point was that anybody who was around, who would stay on to the end – because don’t forget the show had started in the afternoon, so not everybody was going to be waiting – but then anybody who was left, who wanted to join, could go and join. There was no strict “You must do this, you have to do this, you have to be there”. It’s “If you want to, by all means come and do it.” PS: And we even have a picture of both of you, Freddie and you, on that day when Freddie wears a white shirt for “Is This The World That We Created”, and you stand right next to him and it’s a beautiful picture. PF: And Queen were the only band that actually kept their dressing room. Because all the other bands had to vacate their dressing room half an hour after they’d performed, so that the next band could come and use it. But because Brian and Freddie were performing “Is This The World That We Created” at the end, they got to keep their dressing room from the time they arrived. [laughs] PS: So they spent the rest of the day after the show in their dressing room? PF: Well, in or around their dressing room, yes. PS: They, like, had their Royal Queen place there. PF: That’s it. Anybody else had to go into the Hard Rock Café. There had to be a tent, you know, hospitality tent there. And most people ended up in there because they were not allowed into their dressing rooms, they didn’t have dressing rooms after that. So… that also helped Freddie relax. [laughs] PS: Like, his little bit of his own, right? PF: Yes. PS: All right. So, the second topic is about you, Peter. And you are credited as a “band party” member on The Works tour. Can you please clarify what a band party meaning is? Because I am assuming it’s like an entourage but it will be nice to hear the expanded definition from you. PF: Yeah, the band party, I think, was about ten or twelve people. It was the band members, their assistants – me, Chris Taylor was there, and Paul Prenter was there. If Jim Beach was on the tour at the time, he would have been part of the band party too. And some of the time Gerry Stickells was there. But often he would be ahead, making sure that everything was ready for when the band arrived. But that was it. There was about ten people. And there were baggage tags for each member of the band party. That’s why I know because I had Number 9, I think. And there were about twelve, I think, altogether, because at one point at the beginning I used to have to collect the band party baggage, so that’s why I always knew which were, even though I wouldn’t know whose bag was what. It would have one of these crew tags on it, so I just picked up and I knew that there were going to be twenty bags, so I just picked the twenty bags. But they were easy to identify because of these tags. PS: I see. And what is your own favourite memory about The Works tour and about this time, like, 1984, 1985? Maybe the Rio shows? PF: Yeah, I mean Rio was… amazing. The feeling from that crowd… you know, something like 350,000 people. Oh, you can’t beat that. And when you’re flying in a helicopter over that crowd, it was stunning. But the thing is, I know this sounds really, really stupid but [laughs]… one thing I will always, always remember from that tour was, remember, in the back of the stage you had these wheels that turned every now and then, not constantly but just every now and then. That was because there was… the guy looking after Roger’s drums and me who actually turned those wheels. And there was no set cue or anything that, “Oh, it has to start on this bar, on this song.” No, it
was when he wasn’t doing anything and I wasn’t doing anything, we’d say “Ok, let’s go and do it.” And we turned the wheels for a couple of minutes and then left them alone. He had then to do something for Roger and I would just sit there like I always did. And then you’d go back and you’d turn the wheels, like a hamster. We were like hamsters… So, that’s my memory of The Works tour. PS: And how technically did you operate those wheels? How was it possible? PF: With your hands. You just grabbed hold, you know, because it was like cogs on a wheel, and you just grabbed hold of them. Because we would be behind, I mean, I was always on John Deacon’s side, so I was hidden behind his bass setup. And you just pulled on the cogs because the whole wheel was on a metal axle and you just held there and you just pulled it down. PS: And the wheels actually were the real wheels, the big ones, right? PF: The very big ones in the back that moved, yeah. And they were made of, I think, polystyrene and plywood. So they weren’t very heavy. PS: So it was, like, actually you taking a part in the show, like, directing this? PF: Yes, I mean, you know, this is how things used to work in the old days before half of you were born. [laughs] You had to use your hands. I don’t think that a Queen tour as it is now is manual anymore. Everything is “push buttons” in it. PS: Yes, so it was indeed like the works, you had to work to make it work, right? PF: Yes, but nobody knew that’s how it works. They just saw these wheels turning every now and then. PS: It’s like a kind of magic indeed… PF: Yes, this was the whole thing with the Queen show – that people saw things happening but didn’t try and think “Oh, how do they do that?” If I see a big show now, I just think “How do they do that?” You’re not listening to the music anymore, you’re thinking “How do they get this to move? How do they get that?” But in the old days, you never did that, you just saw it move and it was part of the show. PS: You were just enjoying it, you didn’t have the time to analyse it. PF: Yeah. PS: I see. That’s a great memory, Peter. So, the third topic is about Freddie’s solo album, “Mr. Bad Guy” Freddie firstly wanted to name his solo album Made In Heaven and he even mentions that title in an interview with David Wigg. Why did he later decide to call it Mr Bad Guy? PF: I think he felt that Mr Bad Guy represented him more than Made In Heaven. And the lyrics to that song, everything. It sort of was very much about him. I think that’s why it changed. I actually love that song because it is real orchestra on it. And I was in the studio. I mean, it’s not a massive studio, so what they had to do, they had to record each section, so the strings section was there and recorded all their parts. And they went out. And woodwind recorded all their parts. Then brass recorded their parts. Then timpani came in and recorded. You know, they could not do everything together, so it was actually really quite complicated. But the end result, I think, is great. It reminds me very, very much of “The Carnival of the Animals”, the old classical piece. That was written by Camille Saint-Saëns. But that is what I’m immediately reminded of when I listen to “Mr Bad Guy”, you know. [starts to hum the song] You know, all the different pieces of the orchestra doing it, repeating it. Now, that for me is my favourite part. PS: I also enjoy it, I adore it. It’s truly a work of art from Freddie. PF: Yes, definitely, definitely. And I agree with him because it does represent him, multifaceted. You know, you never expect… He never gives you something that you expect. He always gives you something that will surprise you. PS: Yes. And why bad guy, why do you think Mr Bad Guy? Why bad? PF: Because… anytime in the press, there was never anything saying what a lovely man he is. So why not live up to his reputation? PS: Yes, it’s like “Yes, I’m everybody’s Mr Bad Guy,” yes. PF: Yes, this is it. This is what people want to believe, so this is what I will be. PS: Yes. And why do you think his first title was exactly not some
other track title but exactly “Made In Heaven”? Why was his first idea about exactly this song, to call the album this way? PF: I don’t know, I really cannot answer that one for you. I don’t know why he thought of that. Maybe he thought that would be the most popular track. A very popular track. PS: Yeah, it’s a hit song, totally remindful, yeah. And what was Freddie mostly like during the recording? What’s your favourite memory of him in this period? PF: That’s a lot more difficult because it was a difficult time. Munich. It took him far too long to create it. In the end, he was more interested in going out and spending time with Barbara Valentin than he was in creating work. I mean, the amount of time… he would turn up in the studio at two o’clock. Because he always turned up at two o’clock. It was pointless staying or coming at ten because he wouldn’t. And the thing is, it’s a singer’s voice, he’s not really ready to use [it] until later on in the afternoon. Once he’s warmed up properly and everything else. But the thing is, by four o’clock the phone would be ringing and Barbara was bored, so Freddie would run over and go out with her. So it was hard. And sometimes it felt like he was forcing himself to enjoy himself. Because he also felt bad, because he knew he should have been working, but he was letting his arm be twisted very, very, very easily. Yeah, I mean, okay, yes, he did enjoy himself when he was with Barbara, but he also had in the back of his mind that he was supposed to be working. PS: But the final result, I think, is totally great, he’s so much presented there. PF: It wasn’t the commercial success that people were expecting, but I think Freddie was happy with it in the end. PS: Yeah, it’s, like, his self-portrait songs. PF: Yeah, yeah, yeah. It got that music out of his system so that when he was back with Queen he was thinking more of the band stuff than, you know, things that the band would be happy with and just him happy with. Also, the thing is, Freddie did miss the rest of the band. He would never admit it but if you listen to some of the instrumentals on some of his solo tracks you could imagine Brian playing the guitar, you could imagine John playing the bass. You know, he missed having the band around him. PS: I see, I see. Even though it was his only first experience as his solo work, he already missed the other boys. PF: Yeah, yeah, yeah. Because the thing is, all his recording before Mr. Bad Guy had always been with other people around. You know, even when he was producing the Peter Straker album, he had friends around him doing things. This was him on his own and it was all on his shoulders. PS: Yeah, and he worked on this album perfectly, it’s absolutely a masterpiece, yeah. So, the fourth topic is about Freddie’s and Roger’s connection. There is a story that Freddie heard Roger’s song “Heaven For Everyone” and he liked it so much that he wanted to sing it, and in the end The Cross, Roger Taylor’s band, released a version with Freddie’s vocals on it. And do you remember, had Freddie ever listened to Roger’s solo albums at home? PF: Freddie didn’t really listen to very much of anybody’s music at home. The only thing I remember... well, okay, yes, I remember putting on videos of Prince. But, musically, we would put on, we would buy every one that came out. It was a series of CD’s and albums, of course, before the CD’s, Now That’s What I Call Music. And what it would be, would be the sort of top hits of two months or something. And they would all be on Now That’s What I Call Music 1, then Now That’s What I Call Music 2. I think it’s on to Now That’s What I Call Music 373 at the moment. I don’t know. That was the music that he would put on, it was the music of the time. Because, you know, for his own music, for Queen music, that was work for him. And what concerns Freddie listening to Roger’s albums - probably what it would’ve been he would’ve listened to it when he and Roger met up. But it wouldn’t necessarily be at home they would put on the album. They would meet up and Roger would say,
“Oh, you must hear, listen to this, you have to hear this. This is something I’ve been working on,” you know, that sort of thing. PS: I see. And, you mentioned Freddie enjoying Prince, and it connects me with the fifth topic and it’s about the musician of the same age as Prince and it’s, like, a connection of Freddie Mercury from Queen and the Queen of Pop who is known as Madonna. What was Freddie’s attitude to Madonna? Because it’s almost impossible to imagine that he never ever mentioned her or never talked about her. PF: He admired her as… a woman surviving and winning in basically a man’s world. Yeah, because she was a power. And for that he admired her. Some of the music he quite liked. But there’s also the other side of the coin. Freddie, for all he was, had one security with him whenever he went out or everything. And Freddie felt that Madonna was actually attracting attention to herself rather than protecting herself. When she would go running in Hyde Park with ten security, you know, he said, “If she went with one person, people wouldn’t even notice her, but because she’s got ten people around her, then the whole world is going to notice. And you are best safe not like that but if you have just one person.” So, I mean, for that side he didn’t understand her thinking, but for her musical acumen and for her performance he thought she was fine, she was good. PS: And what is your personal attitude to Madonna? Do you like her? PF: Again, some of the things she’s done I think are very, very good. I don’t know, the more recent stuff I’m not so keen on. But all the first ten years or whatever of her stuff, I loved it. Yeah. Because, again, she never copied, she always did her own thing, and she never repeated herself. And I love originality. PS: And what is your own favourite memory about Freddie and Montserrat, Barcelona story in general? PF: I suppose it would have to be the actual recording of “Barcelona” because that was the first track that was completed. Freddie had sent Montserrat a tape giving her a guide vocal. Mike Moran had written out the music for her and sent it. So when she came in, when she arrived, she was fully, fully prepared for what was going to happen. But I remember being with Freddie after she’d done the first tape of her vocals for Barcelona, and… there were almost, almost, I mean, there were tears down his face. He was saying, “I now have the greatest voice in the world singing my music.” And that will always stay with me, always. PS: I see, so it was, like, very deep for him. And what is your favourite memory of Montserrat as a person? PF: Ah, a lot of memories. I went to pick her up at the airport, took her to the hotel, I would go and meet her at the hotel, go with her to the studio, all of that sort of things. And I was only in the studio when Montserrat was there. And when she was actually putting her vocal tracks down, the track was basically finished. I saw her so many times after the recording as well. You know, I went to see different performances of her. And it was because of her that I was actually at the Palais Garnier in Paris. You know, the opera house in Paris. Because she actually did an AIDS Gala there. And she invited me to go. I think… her laughter. It’s just like Freddie’s. Because whenever people ask me what’s my first memory, what is the memory that first comes to my mind of Freddie, and it’s always him laughing. And it’s the same with her. Whether she’s just finished a performance or actually when she’s doing a recital or a concert. And during her encores, she is always giggling and laughing. Amazing giggle. Because she likes to bring the audience in during the encores. And she’s got this infectious giggle. She invited me to the first night ever of her performing Isolde in “Tristan and Isolde” in Barcelona. And talking with her afterwards, I said, “You must know how wonderful it is for me to be coming here, to be seeing it, to be listening to you.” And she says, “Of course, you’re part of the family.” So, that really has always stuck with me. PS: So, the next topic for
today is Freddie spending time just making any kind of normal activities. And the question is firstly about his swimming skills – could Freddie actually swim, and if yes, did he enjoy it? PF: I never saw him swim. Never. I don’t know if he could swim. I’ve often thought about that and I never saw it. He didn’t… thinking about it, we went on a motor boat when we were at Pike’s hotel in Ibiza one time. And he didn’t look the most comfortable. So, I really don’t know if he could actually swim. I never saw him in a swimming pool or anything like that. Even when there was a swimming pool around, I never saw him in it. PS: But speaking of other activities, for example, you mentioned your staying at Pike’s hotel, he liked to play tennis there, right? PF: Yes. And, of course, when he was younger he was very good at table tennis. So, yeah, he enjoyed tennis. When we were living together with Freddie in Los Angeles, in that house, there was a tennis court as well and he played there a few times. PS: I see. And what are your other memories of Los Angeles? PF: Los Angeles. Also I remember in Los Angeles it was in L’Ermitage hotel when Queen were designing the Hot Space album cover there. They were there, maybe, even rehearsing for a tour or something. That’s the hotel I was staying in at that time. It was just this concrete glass and… stainless steel… and chrome. It was a very, very modern hotel. I remember, there were all band members, I was there, Chris Taylor was there, Paul Prenter was there. And they were throwing ideas around. And that’s where Freddie came up with the colours. “That’s the hot space, the space is the colours, hot colours.” PS: Ah, so it has something to do with image, with colour as you see it… PF: Yeah, yeah, yeah. PS: The hot like the bright one, right? A definitive one. PF: Yeah, yeah. PS: And he drew, like, a draught of the cover, right? Because he is credited as designer. PF: They were talking about which colours and then who would be which colour and then what they would put on each colour. You know, when they started talking about, not necessarily a profile but just picking out the aspects that people recognize from each artist, like Brian and his hair, Freddie and his moustache, you know, that sort of thing. PS: And so, each member chose the colour for himself by his own, right? PF: Yeah, yeah, yeah. PS: And how do you think, why Freddie chose the red colour? PF: Because it’s the colour that sticks out the most, although red was not his favourite colour, his favourite colour was yellow. But red is the one that you first look at. If you look at every sale, you know, big sale signs and everything, it’s always red on white. Because red is the colour you notice more. Apparently, whether it’s true or not, I don’t know, but in the old days police stopped more red cars than any other car. PS: Oh, really? PF: Yeah. Just psychologically red is the colour that stands out. PS: And Freddie being so outstanding wanted to strike everybody. PF: Yeah. PS: I see. And you mentioned Freddie and you spending time at Pike’s hotel. And what is also your personal favourite memory of this time. PF: I suppose the swimming pool was actually something nice. To actually think that we were in the swimming pool where Wham had recorded “Club Tropicana”. I mean, yeah, Pike’s. It was a nice hotel. They treated you well. They treated you personally, you know, they took care of you. And so it was a nice place. You really felt well-treated. PS: And what was, like, the top of the top on Freddie’s 41st birthday? What are your memories? PF: The most ridiculous thing is when guests went off into a corner and started smoking, so they weren’t smoking at the table and set light to the decorations. There were all these paper decorations hanging down the walls and everything. And people were there smoking and not looking at what they were doing, and they set light to them with their cigarettes. And then they started throwing alcohol to try and, you know, because it was wet they thought they would put the flames out. I mean, some people are not
very, very bright. [laughs] PS: I see. And what was your favourite memory of his previous one birthday, in 1986, the hat party? PF: Now, the hat party was a one-off, there was no other party quite like that, in Garden Lodge. Not with two hundred and something guests. Because the thing is, the thing that I loved about the fact was that nothing was put away. None of his vases or, you know, anything was put on tables. All the antiques and everything. Everything was left there. Because, okay, there were two hundred people but he actually knew them. He knew he could trust them. PS: And what was it like for him when he arrived back from his magnificent journey to Japan? PF: The thing is, it extended because he was then back home opening up all the packages that had arrived and the crates that had arrived. Because everything was sent over as soon as he bought it. So, the big room, the small room. Everything, all the rooms were full. And these, he had twelve of them. So, it was like Christmas. You know, a six-week Christmas. Because he was away enjoying himself and then opening up and putting it all around the house. PS: So, he was actually in Japan for six weeks, right? PF: No, no, he was in Japan, I think, for about three weeks. But then when he came back, he had three weeks of opening up and putting them all out. PS: So, he had a chance to enjoy his presents one more time, like, actually having them all. PF: Precisely, precisely. PS: So, it was, like, double joy – first to buy it and then to enjoy it at home. PF: Yes, yeah, yeah. PS: And mostly he bought antiques, right? PF: Yeah, I mean, he did actually buy some modern porcelain and things, but almost everything was antique. Almost everything. PS: I see. It was indeed a magic year for him. The Magic tour and the magic holiday… PF: Yeah, yeah, yeah. Definitely. PS: I see, I see. So, as we are ending our first part by now, I’m saying to you a very, very big thank you, Peter. It’s amazing to hear all these stories about Freddie. PF: It’s been a pleasure, it’s a pleasure. SPECIAL THANKS TO VALUREX FOR CONTRIBUTION AND ASSISTENCE TO BE CONTINUED

personal trainer and dancer yibo and graphic designer xiao zhan. GYM AU omg i love this. xiao zhan signs up for a gym membership and personal training sessions where he’s totally not ogling his coach. there’s also a scene with xiao zhan attempting to converse with yibo in korean that got me cackling lmao, our resident koreaboo indeed. it was also great to see mentor yibo here, it reminded me of his prod 101 days when he was so intimidating as a mentor, also... very sexy. anyway i adore this, they’re just thirsting over each other, especially yibo checking out the zhass, it’s okay bobo we’ve all been there

[teen and up, 16k, complete]
abo au where alpha yibo and omega xiao zhan are photographed going into xiao zhan’s apartment together so they’re forced to pretend that they’re mated to prevent a scandal. this has become my favourite fics because i’m an absolute sucker for fake/pretend relationships and the way the writer incorporated canon stuff like yibo answering interview questions for xiao zhan ugh guys i love this fic. when yibo was so exasperated near the end and said “i’m wearing gucci for you” & waving his hand i really lost it. JUST READ THIS I PROMISE IT’S A GOOD READ

ah where do i even start with this one? xiao zhan gets drunk and texts yibo, yibo shows up at his house and whisks him away on a road trip. i felt so much emotions reading this fic, everything was so raw and it really deals with the pressures of being famous and homophobia. this is a super realistic fic and there’s a lot of emotional hurt/comfort, you’ll literally end up wanting to wrap these two in a big blanket and just protect them from the world (lol like we don’t already want to do that). my absolute favourite part was the confession scene, like it was so messy and funny, and it’s just so them, especially the pokemon part lmao. this art is based on that scene and it’s exactly how i imagined it 🥺 this is just so well written and it’s one of my favs!

I would of course never leave you.” i’m screeching, totally gave me tgcf hua cheng vibes. my absolute favourite scene, however, is when yibo says xiao zhan doesn’t have to worry about sending him home because he’s going to win everything... like... the sheer bde this man exudes in real life and fiction... very sexy of him. i also love how this showcases how well they work together and of course the *whispers* celebratory sex!

Tomohisa Kitakado SSR
2019 ー New Field [新境地]
Tumblr media
“Say, Tomo, are you really alright with it?”
『Event: Pirates of Legend (1st - 9th August 2019)』
Part 1
ーKitaKore’s apartment.ー
Tomohisa (surprised): ‘A request for me….. To write a script for a drama series?’
Tsubasa: ‘Yes. Because it’s in the form of a competition it’s unknown if your script will actually be used. You were supported by a famous script writer and invited to “co-write” a script.’
Tsubasa: ‘The theme will be “battle”, but outside of this, you are free to write anything.’
Ryuji: ‘Hee, so far there have been writing requests such as columns or comments….. Scriptwriting for a drama series is a first, isn’t it? It sure is an unusual offer, Tomo.’
Tomohisa: ‘Yeah, I honestly was surprised. Why did he nominate me, I wonder?’
Tsubasa: ‘The client is a TV station producer who worked on many hit dramas.’
Tsubasa: ‘It seems that while he was watching Kitakado-san’s appearance in a program,  he took notice of the atmosphere and your speech which was intelligent and had a good feeling to them.’
Ryuji: ‘Hehe. That producer must be watching Tomo closely.’
Tsubasa: ‘He also read the columns published in magazines by Kitakado-san, and said that you have excellent writing abilities and sufficient topicality. Therefore, if you are interested then you are asked to get in touch with him.’
Tomohisa (smiles): ‘I see….. I appreciate that he even read my columns. And to be valued to such an extent makes me happy.’
Tsubasa: ‘It’s not often that I  hear of said things, so I think he is not simply complimenting you, but they do really like Kitakado-san’s writing.’
Tsubasa: ‘Since it’s a rare change, would you like to try it out?’
Tomohisa: ‘You’re right….. I’m very grateful for the consideration. By going beyond acting there will be a lot of things I will be able to learn through standing on the side of production for one time in the future.’
Tomohisa: ‘Since I like writing, I’m interested in putting together a story. If I can challenge this, it might be a really great stimulus.’
Tsubasa: ‘If so, thenーー’
Tomohisa: ‘But I will turn down the offer this time.’
Tsubasa: ‘Eh……’
Tomohisa: ‘There are many wonderful professionals in this industry. It feels wrong for an amateur like me to suddenly take part in a competition. If I participate just because of topicality, it’s rude toward the contestants that earnestly submit a script I think.’
Ryuji: ‘........’
Tomohisa (smiles): ‘Should turning down the offer become an inconvenience then that’s a different matter, however….. There’s no problem I hope?’
Tsubasa: ‘Of course, please don’t worry about it. You are right, because it’s of a different nature than your usual work, Kitakado-san’s feelings are most important regarding this matter. Then I will later inform him of your rejectionーー’
Ryuji: ‘Wait a minute, Tsubasa.’
Ryuji: ‘Say, Tomo, are you really alright with it?’
Tomohisa: ‘Ryuji…..?’
Part 2
Ryuji: ‘You actually…… don’t really think that joining the competition is rude, do you? That thinking is even more discourteous I think.’
Tsubasa: ‘R-Ryuji-kun……’
Ryuji (angry): ‘I mean it’s the truth, it’s like saying you all lose to a script of an amateur’s topicality.’
Tomohisa (baffled): ‘........’
Ryuji: ‘That producer must know that it’s natural that there will be lots of scripts from professionals. As a producer for programs even more so. Yet, he purposely gave you an offer, Tomo. Isn’t it better to think more thoroughly about the meaning of it?’
Tomohisa: ‘........ The meaning of purposely choosing me, huh?’
Ryuji: ‘Exactly. …… It’s true that Tomo may be an amateur in relation to scriptwriting. But doesn’t the feeling to try it out apply to both professionals and amateurs?’
Ryuji (upset): ‘If you seriously are prepared to work hard, then you ought to take this chance.’
(It may be the first time I see Ryuji-kun persuading Kitakado-san about work in such a manner. All the more as Ryuji-kun might feel that this work will be meaningful for Kitakado-san.........)
Tomohisa (smiles): ‘........ Thanks, Ryuji. You’re right, maybe I was a bit conceited here.’
Ryuji: ‘I- I didn’t say that........’
Tomohisa: ‘No, it’s fine. Thank you for making me realize. It kind of opened my eyes. It seems like the offer itself was unexpected for me and my mind didn’t catch up.’
Ryuji (sighs): ‘........ I thought so. It was unlike Tomo to find a reason to not accept even though you had an interest in the offer.’
Tomohisa: ‘Haha, it’s as Ryuji says.’
Tomohisa: ‘........Tsubasa, I’m sorry, but ignore my answer from earlier. Would it be fine if I think about the offer a bit longer? My own feelings included, I want to properly think about whether I have enough time to face the production.’
Tsubasa: ‘Kitakado-san........ Of course!’
Tsubasa: ‘These are the materials for the competitions. I will contact the other party, so please take your time to consider.’ ________________________
ーAnother day. In the meeting room.ー
Tomohisa: ‘ーーHello, Tsubasa.’
Tsubasa: ‘Kitakado-san, hello.’
Tsubasa: ‘It has been one week since then....... Did you come to a decision about the scriptwriting competition?’
Tomohisa: ‘Yes. I faced myself and........ Came to a decision.
Tomohisa: ‘I want to participate in the competition.’
Tsubasa: ‘........! I’m glad to hear that........ I thought that it was a really good chance so I am happy as well.’
Tomohisa: ‘Thanks, Tsubasa. I got excited when I read the material for the competition and was able to convince myself once again that this is what I wanted to do.’
Tomohisa: ‘Besides, it’s important for us to open up new work fields from now on I think.’
Tsubasa: ‘Fufu, I am certain that this will be a big step. If you have decided so, I need to start adjusting your schedule........ I wonder how much time you will actually need to write a script?’
Tomohisa: ‘About this…… When I read the materials I tried to write one. Won’t you look over it for me?’
Tsubasa: ‘Eh........ You tried to write a script, you said?’
Tomohisa: ‘Yes. I wanted to test to what point I’m able to write alone. I thought that it’s important to let the producer know what writings other than columns I can produce.’
Tomohisa (smiles): ‘Since I jumped into the world of professionals, this much preparation and readiness is a must.’
Tsubasa: ‘Amazing........ But is it fine that I will read your script beforehand?’
Tomohisa: ‘Of course. If possible, I want to hear your honest thoughts and impressions on it.’
Part 3
(Kitakado-san’s first script........ Just what kind of story could it be.)
Tomohisa (laughs): ‘Since the theme was “Battle” I wrote a story with “Pirates” as the motif, which I associate with the theme.’
Tsubasa: ‘ “Pirates”........’
(So, it’s probably mainly intense action. ........ Oh, it takes place in Japan.)
(........Huh? There are........ no battle scenes. The “pirates” appearing in the story are at the checkpoint that’s on the sea.)
Tsubasa: ‘........ How strange.’
Tomohisa: ‘Hm? Is there perhaps some inconsistency?’
Tsubasa: ‘Ah, no........! This story is very interesting. The appearing characters are charming and the dialogue is lively. It’s possible to become engaged in the story because thanks to your stage directions the scenes naturally emerge.’
Tomohisa: ‘I see, glad to hear this.’
Tsubasa: ‘But ........ This work is different from the usual “Pirate story”, is it not?’
Tomohisa: ‘Haha, that may be true, indeed. Pirates are pirates, but I chose “Murakami Kaizoku*” as the motif.”
Tsubasa: ‘ “Murakami Kaizoku”?’
Tomohisa: ‘Yeah. When you hear “pirates” the image of a group that gloriously steals the treasure with showy swordplay and firefights comes to your mind. But Japan’s pirates........ The “Murakami Kaizoku” are a group that fights to “protect” the important things.’
Tomohisa: ‘They seem to have been a group, also called the Japanese feudal lord of the sea, that was working for the sake of “protecting” people’s lives, livelihood, and above all, the peace of the sea.’
Tsubasa: ‘So that is why they do not start a fight by themselves.’
Tomohisa: ‘Exactly.’
Tomohisa: ‘........ Modern and extreme “battles” are perhaps better suited for entertainment and entertainment for drama series. But I think “fights” aren’t not only there to mutually hurt or steal from each other. To protect what’s dear, one overcomes their weaknesses. Everyone faces this kind of “battle” everyday.’
Tomohisa: ‘I want to write the kind of story where the viewer sympathizes and is inspired, even if the time or circumstances are different, is what I thought.’
Tsubasa: ‘A “battle” that does not leave the viewer behind........ That is incredibly like Kitakado-san. This is why you can feel a soft warmness despite the heart-breaking scenes.’
Tomohisa: ‘Fufu, if it’s how you feel, then I’m happy.’
Tomohisa: ‘It’s worth writing just because Tsubasa said that.’
(To be able to produce such a wonderful script in a mere week, Kitakado-san really is extraordinary........)
Tsubasa: ‘I would like to continue reading your script without a rush, but........ More importantly, I would like to quickly submit it to the producer. I am sure it will be more than what they expected.’
Tomohisa: ‘That’s good to hear. But if this script isn’t what they wished for, then don’t hesitate to tell me, I will rewrite it.’    ________________________
ーAnother day. During a photo shoot.ー
Tsubasa: ‘Uhm........ Ah, Kitakado-san!’
Tomohisa: ‘What happened for you to be so flustered........ Wasn’t it a different location today?’
Tsubasa: ‘That is true, but there is something I need to tell you as soon as possible. It’s about the script the other day, I received a reply from the producer.’
Tomohisa: ‘........! What did they say........’
Tsubasa: ‘It was praised that the result was beyond their imagination. And they were pleased about the subject at hand, which was like Kitakado-san. Moreover, it will be adopted as a solo script by Kitakado-san, instead of a co-written one........’
Tomohisa (surprised): ‘Solo script?’
Tsubasa: ‘Yes! It was decided to make it into a drama, outside of the competition. It seems that it will be in the frame of a two hour special drama.’
Tomohisa: ‘Made into a drama........ This time everything really is beyond your expectations.’
Tomohisa: ‘But I’m incredibly happy about it. I wonder if it’s fine that there are no problems with the content of the script and to receive such a big chance?’
Tsubasa: ‘It looks like there will be some corrections needed, however, they said that they want to go with the content as it is. And........’
Tomohisa: ‘There is more to come?’
Tsubasa: ‘Yes. When the production of the drama happens, if possible, they want Kitakado-san to be involved with the castings as well.’
Tomohisa: ‘Me........ Involved in the castings?’
Part 4
Tomohisa (baffled): Is that true? I didn’t think it was possible for me to choose the actors.’
Tsubasa: ‘If you wish, they will move to make it come true as much as possible. For this reason, should you have a performer in mind, do not hesitate to........’
Tomohisa: ‘........ If so, then there’s one person I’d like to ask.’
Tsubasa: ‘Is that so?’
Tomohisa: ‘Since he’s a veteran, it might be difficult. However, when I was writing the main protagonist, he came to my mind. So I was thinking to myself that I would be delighted if he plays the role........’
Tsubasa: ‘In this case, it will not hurt if we let them know! The producer is eager to gather a good staff and performers as well.’
Tomohisa (smiles): ‘Thanks. ........ How do I say, there’s a mysterious feeling I have never felt before. The world I imagined inside my head becomes reality........ The actors and actresses will bring the lines I wrote to life. They’re just ordinary letters, but I’m able to witness the moment they turn into living words.’
Tsubasa: ‘Fufu, even I am getting excited myself.’
Tomohisa: ‘Tsubasa, you also read the script, is there someone you imagine to play this particular character?’
Tsubasa: ‘Let me see, I ........ Ah, before that, I have an important matter to tell you.’
Tomohisa: ‘Hm?’
Tsubasa: ‘It’s regarding the casting, they also like to ask some B-PRO members to appear.’
Tomohisa (surprised): ‘From B-PRO, too?’
Tsubasa: ‘Yes, as Kitakado-san’s name will be listed, they want at least two other names to be listed as well.’
Tomohisa: ‘I see........’
Tomohisa: ‘........’
Tsubasa: ‘Uhm........ is something wrong?’
Tomohisa (smiles): ‘Yeah........ I just thought about how it’s a bit troubling, because it’s not possible to have everyone appear, I assume? It’s a given that, no matter who I choose, they will deliver a good performance. And yet, I have to choose from them.’
Tsubasa: ‘You are right........ Choosing among the members does feel awkward. However, this is not about the quality of their acting ability. If you choose them based on whether they suit the role or not, then it should not be such a worrisome matter I think.’
Tomohisa: ‘That’s true........ Then........’
Tomohisa: ‘........But, what to do. The role that suits Ryuji this timeーー’
Ryuji: ‘What about me?’
Tomohisa (surprised): ‘Ryuji! What about the shooting?’
Ryuji: ‘It just finished. I heard your talk from the middle on....... Tomo, are you worrying about me by any chance?’
Tomohisa: ‘That’s.......’
Ryuji (sighs): ‘Haa....... As I thought. Listen, do you think I will sulk if I can’t appear in the drama?’
Tomohisa: ‘No, you’re wrong. It’s just that this work is my first script. Since Ryuji encouraged me so much....... Besides, I do really love Ryuji’s acting. So if I am choosing from B-PRO, I want it to be Ryuji after all.’
Ryuji: ‘But there’s no role for me, is there?’
Tomohisa (dejected): ‘Uh.......’
Ryuji: ‘Good grief.......’
Ryuji: ‘There must already be a set image inside Tomo’s head. You absolutely can’t stray away from it. I won’t forgive it if Tomo’s important work will be ruined by such a thing.’
Tomohisa: ‘Ryuji.......’
Ryuji (smiles): ‘And in the first place, if I was appearing in the drama Tomo penned then I’d be the leading role, am I right. The content as well must be even more refined.’
Tomohisa (smiles): ‘Heh....... You’re right, When casting Ryuji, it has to be a script that was written for Ryuji.’
Ryuji: ‘Exactly. So for now, concentrate on producing good work. That’s also part of a professional’s work, no?’
Tomohisa (smiles): ‘Yeah. Thanks, Ryuji.’
Tomohisa: ‘.......Say, Tsubasa.’
Tsubasa: ‘Y-Yes.’
Tomohisa (winks): ‘To be honest, when I was writing the script, there were characters for which members came to my mind.’
Tsubasa: ‘.......! Please let me hear about it.’
Tomohisa: ‘Thanks. Uhm....... This role is heroic, fun and soothing. Since he’s a moodmarker I was thinking of Hikaru when I was writing the script. As for the other role, he comes with honesty and seriousness who doesn’t hesitate to throw away his life for the sake of his comrades.’
Tomohisa: ‘So I think this role might suit Kazu.......’
Ryuji: ‘.......’
Part 5
ーDuring the drama production, at the beach.ー
Lighting staff: ‘Put the lighting a bit higher.’
AD: ‘The last location bus is arriving! With this all the performers for today are gathered!’
Tomohisa: ‘....... It’s the start of the filming, huh. From here on out we’ll earnestly start filming now.’
Tomohisa: ‘.......’
Tsubasa: ‘.......Uhm, Kitakado-san. Are you fine?’
Tomohisa: ‘Eh?’
Tsubasa: ‘No, somehow you looked stiff for a second....... Since we are shooting at the sea all day, you will be hit by the salty sea breeze. If you are not feeling well, please tell me right away.’
Tomohisa (smiles): ‘I’m fine. My body is fit and healthy, there’s no problem.’
Tomohisa: ‘But, perhaps....... I’m a bit nervous.’
Tsubasa: ‘Eh.......?’
Tomohisa (pensive): ‘It sure is unusual for me, I agree. I just don’t know it myself really well, this sensation I’m feeling for the first time. I didn’t feel like this when I appeared in dramas....... Is this what you call pressure?’
Tomohisa: ‘A great number of people are working to realize the script I wrote. It’s been like this ever since this project started to move. Seeing the preparation for the shooting before my eyes now....... It looks like I came to realize this fact at last.’
(For Kitakado-san, who usually is the one who calms down everyone, to be this nervous....... It’s also a first for me. The words I should be giving at this time.......)
Hikaru: ‘Uwaah~ I’m so super nervous~!!’
Tomohisa: ‘.......Hm?’
Hikaru: ‘Did you see, leader? The actress who’s standing by the location bus!’
Hikaru: ‘When I was a child I watched her dramas in the morning, she played the mother in it!? I can’t believe there would come a day where I would be co-starring with her....... Aaaah, that makes me so nervous!’
Hikaru: ‘Leader, write down lots of letters of “person” on my hand** I will drink them! I will chug them down all at once!!’
Kazuna: ‘Calm down, Hikaru. It’s not our turn yet.’
Hikaru: ‘Uuh~! I know, but.......!’
Kazuna: ‘Hm, I do understand you though. There are nothing but talented performers around here, it’s nerve-wracking. But everyone should have the same desire to produce a good drama....... Don’t let yourself be swallowed up by the atmosphere and let’s rise together.’
Kazuna: ‘Let’s fight the pressure and move forward, just like our roles.’
Tomohisa: ‘.......!’
Kazuna: ‘Ahead of overcoming your weaknesses, there’s the future. For this reason, no matter how scary it is, even if your legs are tremblingーー You need to walk without stopping.’
Hikaru: ‘L-Leader.......’
Hikaru: ‘Uuuh, you’re so cool~! I’m mesmerized~!!’
Kazuna: ‘H-Hikaru, lower your voice a bit.......’
Hikaru: ‘You’re right! It’s the lamest to lose to yourself! Alright, I’ll also do my best!!’
Tomohisa: ‘....... Haha.’
Tsubasa: ‘Fufu....... Hikaru-kun is just as usual.’
Tomohisa: ‘Yeah. Kazu as well as Hikaru, they both are strong.’
Tomohisa: ‘I....... have to become strong, too. I can’t stay like this.’
Tomohisa: ‘If I don’t fight with the same feeling as the actors and actresses as part of the crew, I can’t deliver good work that many people can enjoy.’
(....... A dignified look. Yeah....... I’m sure he will be fine from now on.)
Producer: ‘Alright, it’s time. Shall we gather once before we start filming? Kitakado-kun, come here!’
Tomohisa: ‘Yes, I will.’
Tsubasa: ‘....... Everything is going well.’
Tomohisa: ‘Yeah, then, I’ll be going.’ ______
Tomohisa: ‘....... Tsubasa.’
Tsubasa: ‘Kitakado-san? Do you need something.......’
Tomohisa: ‘No, just....... Thanks.’
Tsubasa: ‘Eh?’
Tomohisa: ‘I’m very grateful that this gives me an environment and opportunity to continue taking on new challenges. That’s why, thank you, Tsubasa.’
Tsubasa: ‘....... You are welcome. The possibilities are limitless. Let us take on all kinds of challenges from now on as well.’
Tomohisa (smiles): ‘Yeah. Then....... I will go fight alongside everyone.’
Tsubasa: ‘Yes! Please do so, Kitakado-san.......!’

** Writing the letter for “people” (人) on the palm of your hand and swallowing is something like an encouragement ritual in Japan. Perhaps you might have seen it in some anime before, like Shokugeki no Soma, or in J-Dramas. This article explains the history behind this action.

BGM: Michael Jackson - Black or White
I reserved some books of collections of essays by Koutaro Sawaki. TBH, I have not read his non-fiction books so much, but I do like his essays which describes his personal life lightly so often read them (this is just an opinion of mine, but I guess his clear Japanese seems good for the Japanese leaners to learn). Today, I carried his "Scenery on the road" in my bag to my workplace, read it, and felt eased certainly. I have read this for a few times so can feel comfortable. Unconsciously, I might not want to feel disappointed to read unknown books, therefore I re-read "known" books. Should I read the books which hurt my mind, in other words, which are controversial... I am saving myself? I should change the interest to the writers as Samuel Beckett
TBH, yesterday I couldn't sleep well and this morning I thought "I can't do anymore". Yes, this idea suffered me a lot, but at last, I worked completely. "I shouldn't be down here"... As I wrote this once (and my metaphor used to be too old), I feel that in me there is a personality as Ryo Saeba. That personality is, as Ryo Saeba is so, usually thinking about various things with an easy-going mind. Never want to work, never get wet with sweat... and also a large amout of horny things. But if I start working, my mind changes and enables me to do my work. I, however, can't trust this change is possible so I have to struggle with myself before work. I can't see if I can work fully before I start work. Or I can't trust my Ryo Saeba. It's complicated. I am not a serious person, but I might be having a "professionalism".
This afternoon, I read Koutaro Sawaki's "Scenery on the road" a little. His writings deliver me a certain neat and strong "professionalism". He is one of the great non-fiction writers, and in these early essays he shows strong pride as a writer in him. I am really impressed by them. He has kept on facing the real before himself and writing about it completely. These essays are the products from the person who keeps on doing that tough works. I might have to follow him. "Professionalism"... I have never thought that I am "professional". Indeed, this logic is weird but I don't want to be bind by that label of "professional". I want to be free, and also to be an amateur. But maybe we are going to be a "pro" if we have kept on the same job for over 20 years. I should accept this kind of label and let myself be bind?
I am thinking about the label of "gifted". I don't know its strict meaning, but I heard that it would mean "the intelligence which is truly high from average". Once I thought that my skill of using language must be "gifted". But, as a comment to my diary on Discord, this label of "gifted" must not mean as simply the "smart" man, but can mean the difficulty to live their life. I have to think about this again, and I agree with this comment. I shouldn't think simply as the "gifted" people are easy to live because they are smart, but I have to think how to have sympathy with these people's difficulty from "gift". I am not smart so I can't reach this point... I am also thinking that "ordinary" or "neurotypical" people have difficulty to live because of that "neurotypical" character.
