i do have a really specific memory of seeing obama fly to the white house for his inauguration on tv when i was around 7 and asking my mom who he was and she was like “thats the new president”. also later on when i was in like 5th grade it was time for obama vs mitt romney and my school held like a mock election and everyone voted for mitt romney bc we heard he’d abolish school. also going into my high school the day trump won in a conservative town felt like a simulation. people wore flags like capes -ebd anon
