okay not to come of as a hater for a second but i'm thinking about this again and kind of want to get the thought out...
is it just me or is the way people discuss pilots online a little... odd? don't get me wrong, it's honestly really cool to see people get so hyped up and invested in something based on the pilot alone, but from how some people discuss them it belies a bit of a misunderstand of what a pilot is supposed to be and do.
a pilot is a proof of concept for something, not the finished product. this is most evident with pilots produced the traditional route, where the final series may be wildly different from the initial pitch (the first one that comes to mind is the gravity falls pilot, although it's still pretty similar to what we did end up getting).
so it's... i'm a little concerned for the inevitable fallout when a popular pilot becomes a series that's different from it's initial pitch, i suppose

Wait a second... can someone with more understanding of fandom cultures explain something to me?
Do people ship characters because they believe they are going to be a cannon thing????? I thought it was just for fun?? I'm like, oh these two characters seem fun together, what if they dated. I just be mixing and matching these bitches I legit dgaf if it actually happens or not.
Maybe it's just whatever weird end of tiktok I'm on, or maybe it's just something I never picked up on until now, but like,,, people will say, "oh these ships are invalid cuz they won't be cannon" OK????? AND??? It's just fun
Like I remember being a kid and watching shows and my friends being like oh did you see that (insert ship name) scene???? Like girl I don't care. Two characters could never have interacted and I'm gonna ship them.
And that's all I thought it ever was? Is it like,, different now or some shit?

yandere!Ragatha with gender-neutral! rabbit plush! reader headcanons
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Warnings: Obsessive behavior, implied bullying, spoilers for the pilot episode.
There may also be possible triggers in this story.
If you do not feel comfortable venturing any further, please hit the 'back' button on your mobile device or computer and read something much more pleasant than a possible series of unfortunate events.
Hey guys, and welcome to another piece for The Amazing Digital Circus! :) This was inspired by another yandere!Ragatha set of headcanons, written by the talented @xciiii! I highly recommend checking it out, so I will leave a link to it here.
Without being said, sit back, relax, and enjoy the show! :)
Ragatha is someone who will get attached to her darling slowly as she gets to know them. At first, the realization that she possessed such feelings will embarrass her greatly, these….feelings she has towards them. Yet as time went on, or if anyone keeps tabs on time anymore, her love grew and grew until she…she just couldn’t stand the thought of someone else falling for her darling.
Being trapped in the Amazing Digital Circus is not an ideal place to get attached to anyone beyond being friends, even when Caine’s little adventures have helped her from abstracting like poor Kaufmo. And Kaufmo had been her darling’s friend. Her darling was so upset when they learned about his abstraction. And there was nothing wrong with comforting her darling at their lowest point. Not at all.
At least she wouldn’t have to use the key to their room yet. Jax had been so #@$%^&!* stubborn with handing it over. But she’ll deal with him when the time comes.
Thankfully, Pomni seems to be adjusting just fine and doesn’t have any interest in anything beyond finding a way to leave this exit. If Ragatha was honest…Pomni seemed kind of scared to be around her darling and tried to avoid being paired up with them during activities.
Maybe it’s because her darling is a tiny rabbit doll with floppy ears and tiny red eyes? Ragatha wasn’t sure. Not everyone who comes to this place is able to retain their human form. Look at Kinger, Gangle, Zooble, and Jax.
Gangle liked her darling's form because it reminded the circus' artist of an anime that she used to watch before coming here, though she struggled to remember the name of it.
Ragatha will try not to get jealous when her darling spends an afternoon helping Kinger build a pillow fort or drawing with Gangle, she really will because she knows they like them as only friends, never anything beyond that. A certain periwinkle rabbit will make it hard on her, though, if he tries to flirt with them.
When it came right down to it, Ragatha didn’t care so much about appearances as much as her darling’s personality. And in her defense, she never thought her curiosity, this tiny little crush would become something so suffocating, so lovely, that all she can think about is her darling and making sure they are safe.
If something happened to them…well, she’d go crazy and tear this whole world apart like Kaufmo had tried to do.

The amazing digital circus! (review)
So... people actually want my opinion and Im like
Tumblr media
*sniff* Ok, guys! Im gonna try to do my best to review (?) the pilot ep for Tadc! (Spoiler alert: I enjoyed a lot!)
First of all, the animation. IS. BEAUTIFUL.
So elastic, so expresive, so shiny, is just perfect!
Tumblr media
Like, for example, just look at her pupils, how she slightly moves her head, is something little but add a lot of life to the character.
And they are so expresive like you can see their fear and stuff, especially Pomni.
Tumblr media
(I love this shot of her haha)
Everything is so full of life and colours, I just love when animators actually take advantage of animation and go crazy with it.
And the designs are really good too! I love them. The best ones are Caine and Kinger.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
They are so... crazy. And thats great! Besides, I think the giant eyes on Kinger just makes him look more traumatized, which makes sense, because for what we know, he has been in the circus the longest.
Now the characters themselves. I like them. Just so much personality, and fun. Specially Jax.. he is an unapologetic asshole and I just love that.
Ragatha is nice. Hope to see more of her, but rigth know I dont have a lot to say about her, but she is likeable and kind. She is just what Pomni needs.
Il talk about Pomni, but later, cause I wanna comment some interesting stuff about her.
Gangle is cute and deserves a big hug.
Zooble is... okay too. I dont dislike her and she has some funny momens, but like Ragatha, I need to see more of her to make a more complete opinion. I KNOW is the pilot, but I still need more content. IM NOT CRITICIZING, IS JUST MY OPINION. Actually is good that they dont focus a lot on ALL the characters, because it would be a confusing mess, so, well done there, Glitch and Goose.
Kinger was freaking hilarious. Like when Jax mentions how stable Kinger and Gangle are, Kingle start to shake in a really weird but hilarious way. Or when he screams randomly and says that Gangle startled him.
I like this guy :D
Then we have Caine... oh boy, he is one of the most interesting characters, with Pomni and... Kaufmo.
He acts so happy and cheerful and stuff, and like a presenter. He is actually kinda nice, but is obvious that he is hiding something, like when Pomni asks about the exit and he gets all weird.
NOW. Lets talk about my waifu- about Pomni.
She is so realistic and human and relatable and I love that. And not just because she is so super confused and scared and anxious, but for other scenes.
The moment where Ragatha needs help, and Pomni actually extends her hand and grabs her, only to start glitching. She gest scared, apologizes and runs away. But she feels guilty and comes back to apologizes to Ragatha, who forgives her.
I LOVED THIS SCENE SO MUCH. Pomni became more than just the anxious main character and became a bit more tridimensional.
Another moment I loved related to her. This:
Tumblr media
Is a very short scene... but it means so much. How she is just in shock an touches her face, like she just cant believe this is her. This is happening to her. And it adds to the existencial horror of the show.
And the most incredible one and amazed me is when she actually goes in the exit door. Like... she did want to help Ragatha, but this could have been her only chance to escape. Im sure anyone of us, including myself, would have done it.
But then the poor woman is traped in a bucle and starts to get crazy and laugh... I think I would have reacted exactly the same.
Or that last shot of her and her disturbed face.
DAMN, EVERYTHING IS SO GOOD. AND THE MUSIC TOO.
I LOVED THE INTRO. The comedy too! And the outro was so cute!
This show has showed us the potential it has for the horror AND I CANT WAIT.
This are all my personal toughs! What do you guys think?

Hey thanks for accepting this ask. So what I wanted to ask is how the amazing digital circus crew would react to a reader who's a strong hero...that's incredibly optimistic, dense and Guilable thinking that the world acts like a cartoon/comic sometimes
TADC cast x comic hero type reader!
meant to start knocking out these last two requests earlier this morning but i had to clean up the house a bit; but im finally getting onto it! reminder that requests are currently closed and any requests sent in will not be answered and will be deleted to keep the inbox clean; so please keep your requests until i announce theyre open again! plan on taking a day or two off to rest my brain n back as well as catching up on art and my own personal fic. the requests being answered currently were sent in prior to requests closing with that said, i hope you enjoy this anon!!
Tumblr media
CAINE:
honestly i think caine would be the same way, not exactly but i think he would some of the cluelessness in terms of how the real world works... except its mostly with the non digital real world; call it inexperience or something! lets you play hero during the IHA.. honestly you kind of fit right in with your personality, with tropes and being a stereotypical comic book hero, if not a little naïve. pretends he doesnt recognize you when you walk around in your "citizens disguise"
likes coming up with villain npcs for you to fight during adventures
POMNI:
initial confusion when she sees you just walking around with a tie plastered to your chest, asks you what its for as well as dropping your name. even more shocked that youre shocked that she knows who you are. kind of just accepts this is a thing you do and doesnt question it, especially as she settles into the digital world.. at least youre handy during IHA.. i think during my little break i might try to figure out how i wish to right pomni because i really do wish i made her stuff more... interesting
RAGATHA:
honestly i think she would make you stuff to add to your disguise. doesnt want to shatter the illusion for you so she just tries to casually give you stuff out of the kindness of her heart... which isnt... totally wrong.. honestly i dont think she would try to change you or bring up the bad disguise thing so long as its not somehow putting you in danger. in fact i think she finds your whole hero personality endearing, you guys are both optimistic and its nice to be around someone who isnt just. losing their marbles or being a dick.. plus, you arent technically wrong to view the digital world as a cartoon, i mean, look at it and look at the physics of the world and all
JAX:
oh he is going to be a menace, probably makes a joke villain persona to mess with you only for you to immediately gun for him and deal with his "evil antics",, i mean hey as long as jax doesnt put his silly little villain mask back on you wouldnt suspect a thing... maybe... i think he would roll his eyes at some of the things you say, since youre way more optimistic and out there than ragatha... probably uses your gullible..ness... as a means to trick you
KINGER:
honestly the "as a royal myself" line he dropped in the pilot makes me think that at some level he believes himself to be a real king; or maybe he was just REALLY playing into his whole theming and he knows hes just some dude but was trying to appeal to the gloink queen... what im trying to say is that i think there might actually be a solid chance he fully leans into your hero thing, and perhaps even falls for your disguise (if him constantly forgetting gangle is standing right next to him says anything about his observation skills and/or mental state)
ZOOBLE:
similar to jax but also not. finds your optimism a little too much sometimes; especially if youre very outwardly social and friendly so its not like you swoop in to do your hero duties but you also stop to talk to the 'civilians' of the circus.. though unlike jax they wouldnt try to trick you, nor do i think they would exactly be mean to you. a little irritable by your energy and attitude, maybe, but i think zooble gets irritated by almost everyone in the circus.. reluctantly plays along with your disguise
GANGLE:
i think she would be into it, probably draws you in your non-disguise outfit. you get fanart, yay! probably similar to pomni in the whole, just accepts how you are both as a person and with your antics, but i think she just accepts everything everyone else does! not much to say, shes a fan of it and if you stand up for her when jax is mean thats just an added bonus for her

So, I just finished watching all 9 episodes of Smiling Friends in one sitting.
I dunno why, but I just have a bit of a natural aversion to immediately diving into like Internety things that blow up really quickly. I still need to watch the pilot episode for The Amazing Digital Circus, I have no clue what the game Content Warning is about, I know I got into watching videos on Lethal Company late and such.
One of those things was Smiling Friends. I had seen it blowing up originally, and so naturally, I just drifted away from it. I had subsequently seen it in like some memes or stuff afterwards, but besides that, not much.
It doesn’t help I’ve not really gotten into Adult Swim cartoons at the moment. I love random, but Adult Swim cartoons can be really cynical in a way that makes me wary of them.
Then, I saw you post some art of it. Then some more. Wow, more! What about this show makes this person I consider a good Tumblr friend like it so much to dedicate so much time to doing at about it? Well, you said in an ask that it wasn’t as cynical as other Adult Swim cartoons, especially when it came to Pim and Charlie. Huh, okay, I think I’ll go watch it!
I procrastinated on it for a few days because I was busy. But, finally, I decided, “You know what, I’m just gonna watch it!” I watched the first episode. Honestly, it is my least favorite episode. (Weirdly, just like how the first episode of the Sam and Max TV show is my least favorite.) I didn’t like The Boss breastfeeding, I didn’t like how Desmond kept the gun pointed to his head, I didn’t like the spinning baby. That all felt too jarring for me.
Of course, maybe I wasn’t properly acclimated with the show yet. Besides, there was good with the bad. I thought Pim and Charlie’s dynamic seemed funny, the ending was great, and I liked Allan and Glep as the other two Smiling Friend workers. So, I pushed through.
I ended up really enjoying my time watching the show. There was a lot more I liked than I disliked. My main thing: You were right, it definitely wasn’t as cynical as I thought it would be. Sure, the world still is cynical and messed up at points, but I felt an authenticity to the reoccurring characters and how they dealt with the situations they ended up in. Plus, for every single episode, I didn’t see the ending coming AND felt super satisfied by the resolutions! My favorite episode is probably the Salty’s one.
So, I guess this is a really long way to tell you: Thanks for getting me into Smiling Friends!
ooouuu i’m glad you enjoyed it!! surprising i’ve gotten some people to start the show because of my fanart.. wuohhh
Completely understand the parts that felt jarring; i could only look past it or at times find the humor in it mostly because of how my friends and i perceived and translated it into our own funky little brains. And i don’t necessarily feel as if adult shows need to step away from that very random/jarring humor/gags but more of Figure Out How To Do It Right and that’s what I feel smiling friends does perfectly. But some people are gonna be left with a bad taste in their mouth anyways and that’s completely fine yk.
What I like is how they mix those very jarring elements in their show + the characters world and contrast it with simply how realistic the characters are. They typically converse as if most of this stuff is normal and it only adds more to the joke when they actually freak out. Like i’ve said before i adore the mixture of extremely realistic dialogue that sounds so similar to real life conversations we’ve very have had before with people in everyday life. (that’s why i especially love the trip to brazil episode)
And obviously the lack of cynicism. I’ve been avoiding most adult animated shows for YEARS because i genuinely just can’t stand the cynicism and it’s constantly negative fanbases it always brews. And i’m very heavy on looking to the fanbase to get an example of how good of a media may be or simply how much it may appeal to me. I remember telling a friend that the difference between the rick & morty fanbase to the smiling friends fanbase was just one fanbase is known for constantly having a negative outlook on life and saying shit like “you need to have a high IQ to understand this show” while the smiling friends fanbase just DESPERATELY wants to make out sloppy style with Charlie. There’s no tasteless misogynistic, queerphobic, or racist jokes. Hell they have two fat characters as the main characters and we have not heard a single fat joke. It’s a breath of fresh air and with its inclusion of having many youtube/twitter/online creators be part of the show (and RUNNING the show) i feel as if we’re hopefully stepping into a new age of adult animated media.
hopefully one with a more positive outlook on adulthood.
aaaa enough of my rambling you literally watched the show!! feels so odd i used to be influenced by fanart and now my fanart is influencing others. i will do everything to use this power for good 😭 just happy to see people start and enjoy things im really fond for.
hope u having a good morning/evening/night tumblr friend 🫶

Hot takes of the day: Wasn’t really a big fan of The Amazing Digital Circus, and also didn't care much for Sir Pentious
I'll split this into two parts, above and below the cut. Sir Pentious will be above just because Hazbin Hotel has been real popular lately
So. I've been a fan of HH since when the pilot came out, and I was obsessed. I watched the show, and I really liked how it turned out. I have some things I didn't like, but I'll get into at least one of those later.
Sir Pentious is a VERY popular character, especially now because he's been redeemed. But honestly, I didn't actually care much for when he was ever on screen. But my main problem was his death.
To start, I'll list some things I DID like. For starters, I liked when he was nervous and kept saying stuff like "Because I'm...buying drinks for everyone!" and so on. It was a funny bit. Also when Cherry found out he had two dicks. I also liked that he was the one that sacrificed himself to try to save the others.
Now getting into one of my main problems with the show. His death.
It was super anticlimactic. Like SUPER. I wish his ship had maybe been blasted and went crashing down, killing Sir Pentious from crushing underneath some rubble. But just blipping out was a terrible way to kill him. It didn't make me feel any sadness for him because of how short it was. Even when the other characters reacted, it just didn't seem like a good choice on how to kill him.
I just never really connected with him. We know barely anything about him. I can say the same about Nifty, but the show somehow made me like her more during the time of the show, and not Sir Pentious. Her crazy little movements, her aggressive behavior, her just staring into the void when on camera. But with Sir Pentious, nothing really drew me to him. Which is weird, because I love awkward nerds.
I like his design when he went into Heaven, it was pretty. But overall, nothing really drew me to him
Alright, The Amazing Digital Circus Time!!!
I absolutely love the channel that made TADC, but I mainly have watched them for Murder Drones. I did enjoy TADC when I first watched it, just not enough to watch it a second time. Or third. Fourth. Hundredth. You get the point
The animation is nice. The premise/idea is fun. The music is absolutely beautiful (especially at the end). And Ragatha and Kinger are the best characters.
I just kind of zoned out abit watching it, and that's how I know I'm not that into what I'm watching. I also don't like Jax that much, but I'm not gonna dwell too much into that. I'm kind of scared of Jax simps-
I don't have much reason on why I'm not a huge fan of TADC, it's more of a preference thing. I absolutely adore the IDEA of it. Person puts on a headset, gets stuck in a virtual world, can't get out, goes insane. Beautiful. I just don't know why TADC didnt do it for me.
The whole scene with Jax, Kinger, and Zooble with that work queen thingy was weird, and that's the part I zoned out on because I just found it boring and not really necessary. It's been a while since I've seen TADC, so I don't actually remember if that scene has any importance, but I still didn't really know what was going on.
Anyway thanks for coming to my Tedtalk byeeee

Hello Tumblr fellas! I got convinced to share a theory of The Amazing Digital Circus so that's what I'll do!
i hope you all enjoy! :D
First things first: This is just my personal theory, it's not truth and does not invalidate anyone else's! I'm here just to enjoy and have fun not to fight anyone! That being said I'll try my best to explain everything i have in my tiny head with all the information we got so far!
Begining: Cain and Abel
TADC seem to have a religious inspiration or undertone to the show (Not mainly focused but at least seems inspired) With that some/mainly this theory will be based on some biblical elements!
The begging will be focused on explaining a bit about what i think of: Caine, Kinger and Jax.
Their roles, how important they are and what they do in general that got my attention.
Not far into the pilot we are introduced to Caine and Bubble, Since TADC appears to be a Game we can come to a conclusion that Caine is a Tutorial/Software created to have control over the circus as he says himself that he has eyes everywhere and can fix medium/low level abstraction but still can't seem to do any meaningful changes on the map or load memories from outside the digital world.
Bubble seems to be just a little helper, probably helping caine to fix some smaller bugs, clean messes and help him understand more into some of their needs.
Even though Bubble themselves seem a little buggy and glitchy saying nonsense and threatening content even when caine says that TADC is a safe place, and even caine is a bit buggy sometimes getting the blue screen but put lets put a pin on that and we'll be right on that topic!
Tumblr media
Further we are introduced to the main characters, one of them being kinger, Our next subject.
Kinger seems to be a character mentally unstable and sometimes confused, having some lines that indicate he has been there longer than anyone, something that doesn't actually makes sense due to a information dropped by ragatha saying that "When you reach your breaking point something really bad can happen" Which we see a but further happening to kaufmo and we can all agree kinger seems long gone after his breaking point, But why isn't he abstracted?
I think that it might be cause kinger isn't actually a regular player trapped into the game he might be something else, Might a developer or even another AI like caine.
In the episode when jax says "i can still be hungry" we can see some of kingers knowledge by him saying "Well not really, ’cause we don't need to eat, drink or sleep in this digital world. So the digital food here only gives off the virtual sensation of eating [...]" That can indicate how he knows something more since jax replies with "[...] Since when are you an expert on the digital world?" And kinger seems to almost immediately lose track of what he was saying and where he is that might be a corruption of his files (Taking to the AI side).
Tumblr media
Since we talked about both Kinger and Caine we can speak a bit more about the "Biblical" thing of them Both.
For a bit in the show are are shown a logo "C&A" that might be the company that made the game but if we take a bit with caine’s name we can get to Cain & Abel.
In the Bible Cain and Abel are brothers, the first kids of Adam and Eve, Cain killed his brother abel after envy.
Considering Caine is the first AI created in the game Along with Kinger they could represent the Two brother and the act of "Killing abel" Would more likely be Caine deleting or corrupting Kinger's Files to make him worthless resulting into the creation of a second companion for caine (maybe by the devs or even caine himself since he doesn't know how to probably code and that might be why bubble doesn't work well) Bubble that was made fast and poorly (that's why he doesn't work properly).
But Caine might need Kinger to access, Edit and work on TADC that's why he never fully deleted Kinger, since they were made to worl together like two keys the system only recognize them when together and even when bubble was the created they didn't edit the main thing causing the main resources to be in kinger’s file.
Development: Pair
One of the things i noticed is that the characters seem to have "pairs" per say.
Allow me to illustrate with both pictures and texts:
We have the sun and the moon
Tumblr media
We have two anthropomorphic animals
Tumblr media
A jester and a clown
Tumblr media
Two randomized characters
Tumblr media
Two toys
Tumblr media
And last but certainly not least
Two chess pieces a queen and a king
Tumblr media
We can see that TADC might have a buddy system where players have a right possibility of having someone to be a duo with or at least share something in common.
The chess pieces can indicate 3 things:
Kinger isn't a AI but a dev and the queen was another Dev but she got abstracted
Kinger is a AI and wasn't the first try to implement it in the game
Kinger and queen are just two different players that share the same characteristics just like the past examples.
For this theory we'll go with the 2nd option.
Ending (?): Judas
By now the last thing i have to share is my thoughts about jax and what he was shown on the pilot.
Jax seems to have a vast knowledge on the digital world (almost same level as kinger and dangerous almost as caine) we are shown that jax has a key that open everyone's room, He doesn't say how or where he got it but we can make a assumption that it was a prize for one of their adventures (or that he just stole it).
And how to you get prizes and items in games? POINT SYSTEMS! HOORAY!
When going down the slide with kinger and gangle they seem to make some points but at the bowling end they miss one and don’t get maximum score, jax immediately kicks the things and they seem to finally get maximum score but jax immediately breaks the warning/sign and goes away.
THAT TAKES US TO THE DINNER SCENE!
Another probable reference to the bible, more specifically "The Last Supper" of Leonardo da Vinci
Tumblr media
Tumblr media
This makes me believe that one of them will betray the rest or at least betray pomni.
Jax being most likely cause since he had access to a key that opens everydoor (and didn't say to tell anyone since ragatha was surprised) most likely is retaining important information probably intentionally.
Not only the key but probably the score system and so many stuff we aren't even aware off!
SO YEAH! :0
This is all i got so far, thanks for reading I'm sorry if it's too long but i hope i made everything clear and let's see if i got anything right!
Anyway i hope you all have a wonderful time! Toodles!

Anon roll call! Popcorn anon here, I'm a 23 year old female, and I knew about Viv's work because her animated music video of Die Young appeared one day on my Youtube feed. I really liked it, it was so vibrant and colourful...
So when I saw that she was going to make an animated series I was happy, I rewatched the pilot of HH a lot, and I thought that making Helluva Boss as a “practice” was a good idea to learn how to tell a story, so when Hazbin came out she would have experience and learnt about her mistakes.
Oh, how wrong I was, I enjoyed the first season a lot, even if I saw the errors of it, but when the second one aired, it was like the rose-coloured glasses had been broken.
I remember that after Exes and Oohs I started to look at the critics here, just reading about it and not interacting, but I knew they were right, everything was a mess, all over the place. I could have forgiven that, maybe, but I was angry at all the potential that was lost, and when I learnt about the things that Viv has done, and is still doing, I was disgusted, I just unfollowed her, unsubscribed from her YouTube channel and started to see things differently. It's not much, but I don't want to support that kind of person, and I try to tell my friends about it and recommend other indie shows, like Lackadaisy, Murder Drones and The Amazing Digital Circus.
I'm thinking of doing critical posts someday because I like to analyze, dissect and talk about the episodes and characters, since I like to write, and especially, create characters.
So, that was all! I'm sorry for the long post, but I needed it.
It was a good post! Don't apologize for it!

THE AMAZING DIGITAL CIRCUS: PILOT
A Promising Premise with a Playful Plot
SPOILERS AHEAD
youtube
I’ll be upfront: I don’t like clowns. I’m not afraid of them, but something about them makes me… uncomfortable. Overly joyous, bright and flashy, and more effective at drawing in a crowd of those goblins we call “children” than a box of Capri-Sun. The Amazing Digital Circus (which will henceforth be referred to in this article as TADC) plays with the vibes I get from clowns perfectly, goblin children and all.
Quick plot synopsis! We find ourselves inside the titular Amazing Digital Circus, a virtual world in which a wacky cast of characters have been trapped for an unknown amount of time. The story follows Pomni, the newcomer, as she tries to escape the circus and get back to the real world without losing her mind. After meeting the other suckers trapped in this world (and then running away from one of them), Pomni finds an exit door free-standing in the middle of the tent. After running through a Backrooms-like facility, her efforts turn out to be all for naught, since the ringmaster Caine hasn’t even finished building the exit. Whoopsies! Yeah, a bunch of other stuff happens, but the B-plot isn’t really as interesting as Pomni’s journey.
I’m going to start the actual review part of this article with the art and animation. The love and care put into making the characters feel alive is not to be overlooked, and it’s clear that the team behind TADC took care in making sure the animation was the best it could be. The characters are expressive in the way they walk, run, and use their hands. Each design is unique and fun, with none of them being standout great and none lagging behind. My personal favorite design is Caine, who is as wonderfully ridiculous as the circus he runs. An honorable mention to Gangle, whose ribbon body leads to some genuinely funny goofs and gaffs in the show. I think the only character design I have problems with is Zooble, a mishmash of multicolored parts of many styles. It’s a neat idea in concept, and Gooseworx’s previous works prove abstract designs can be pulled off well, but Zooble is way too cluttered for my tastes.
Something I really enjoy about TADC is how well it pulls off sound. Music production and voice acting are my hobbies and sound work is my job, so it's always nice to see a show or movie pull off sound well. Goofy character movements are often accentuated by bouncy and cartoony sound effects, and the overall mixing and mastering of the episode is high-quality. At no point did it feel like any character was too loud or too quiet, too bland or too overeffected. I like the subtle changes in reverb as the camera switches to a new point of view, a thing that in hindsight seems obvious but many people may miss when making a show like this. I must also commend the voice actors and voice directors for their amazing work bringing these characters to life and giving them personality. As soon as I heard Caine in the promotional material, I realized it was a complete no-brainer to bring on Alex Rochon to use the Spamton voice from his Deltarune dubs. I also must point out Michael Kovach's work as Jax, being just obnoxious enough to make you want to hate him but not enough to stop you from absolutely loving him. The music is also fantastic, as one comes to expect from the talented hands of Gooseworx. It should come as no surprise that my favorite track from the pilot is Your New Home, and I seem to be far from the only one with that opinion.
Unfortunately, it's not all sunshine and rainbows with TADC. I do have one major gripe with the show, and that's the writing. The story is intriguing and entertaining, but a lot of dialogue near the beginning of the episode falls flat for me. It's a good script assisted by great VAs, but it really does feel like some of the dialogue is trying to cram in lots of information in a shorter time frame, to the point where some of it feels stilted and drags on. However, I suppose I can understand why this is the case. A pilot is a way for a show to tell the audience what it's doing, what it's about, and why you should watch. Thus, it's reasonable to put more information into a pilot than feels necessary, so that you don't need to take as long to get someone hooked.
All in all, TADC is a lovely show that I highly recommend checking out if you haven't already, and I wish the best of luck to GLITCH, Gooseworx, and the rest of the team in funding a full season of this show.
FINAL RATING:
A Breaking Point out of 10
- Rock

So, I finally watched The Amazing Digital Circus's Pilot
I actually enjoyed it!
Character wise, most of them seem kinda cool. My favorites are Pomni, Ragatha, and the guy made out of shapes (I forgot their name, I apologize TADC fandom).
The animation is incredible, like damn. Plus, the digital world looks kinda fun.
Any negatives? Not exactly except maybe the scene where Pomni tried to go through the series of exit doors made me feel really antsy.
Overall? I loved watching The Amazing Digital Circus's Pilot and I wish the full series could exist some day.

Inktober day 19
Pomni (The Amazing Digital Circus) X Medic (Team Fortress 2)
Ok sooo, hear me out.
Tumblr media
Yesterday, I came across an nsfw medic x reader fanfic. Although I didn't like it in the way the author intended, I still enjoyed reading it because it was interesting, and the reader reminded me so much of Pomni!
Tumblr media
Throughout the oneshot, the reader is portrayed as an ainxous individual, absolutely bewildered by the looks, domain, mannerisms, and actions of the medic.
In the amazing digital circus pilot, Pomni is an ainxous individual, absolutely bewildered by the looks, domain, mannerisms, and actions of the Ringleader.
Ya, pickin' up what I'm putin down?
Tumblr media
I tried my best when it came to drawing the two. Surprisingly, it turns out I'm actually somewhat good at drawing pomni, which I'm happy about.
Tumblr media
Unfortunately, I can't say the same for medic. I especially don't like his face in the pic above. It reminds me of that jelly bean guy from rick and morty and my cringy 2018 baldi headcannon.🤮 very unsettling
Luckily, I'll be able to do digital art again soon, so maybe that will help some? Regardless, I am sick and tired of having to post these grungy ass sketchbook pics.
Tumblr media
I know I'll get better at drawing eventually, though. I just gotta keep practicing and studying references.
I'm also gonna try to teach myself how to draw pomni in a style that fits the team fortress 2 style better because litteral noodle limbs don't mix well with tf2 merc muscles in my opinion.
Tumblr media
As for the name and author of the fanfic, I dont want to disclose any of that on this post right now because the last thing I want is for the work to get hate.
Anywaaayyy, I really like the idea of pomni x medic. It's cute and silly ship. And I hope this post implants the ship into other people's brains like a parasite!

HELL YEAH "SCOTT PILGRIM TAKES OFF" AND "CAROL & THE END OF THE WORLD" BABY
I'm still catching up so on my list are Unicorn: Warriors Eternal, Blue Eyed Samurai, Strange Planet.. there's some indie projects that I haven't checked out and am really just procrastinating like; The Amazing Digital Circus pilot, Monkey Wrench, if you haven't seen the Lackadaisy pilot I definitely recommend it!! it's like a cozy dream come true!!
not sure how recent Lego Monkie Kid is and I'm avoiding it on purpose but I heard it's made by the same guys who did ROTTMNT and it looks as spectacular as you'd imagine so if you haven't checked it out there you go!!
oh oh and "Little Demon" & "Digman!" from like a while ago, I enjoyed them a lot
