What ive learned about the yakuza community is that you guys are way too hung up over that scene in y4 where he pinned haruka to the ground then started panting really heavily , that didnt happen for me , that scene wasnt real to me i forgot about it.
#Yakuza loveblog#it literally didnt happen for me like the game could have been perfect without it so i took it out#like how could you not like saejima he... he would be the perfect man if not for that scene#but it WOULD be funny to make haruka have beef with both majima (kidnapped her) and saejima (lowkey assaulted her)#saejima wouldnt do that .. he loves kids ...#i adore saejima i think hes super cool and extremely hardcore. more hardcore than kiryu even and kiryu is extremely hardcore#saejima was the first to almost die in the snow but unlike kiryu he didnt even get frostbite#well he did a bit but it wasnt that bad ... kiryus fingers were one hard press from having the flesh slough right off#anyway HOW CAN ANYONE NOT LIKE SAEJIMA HES SO COOOOOOL#Hes so charismatic and you can tell the depths of his empathy are unfathomable ... he looks at someone with sorrow and you know his heart#is breaking. he always gets so serious and sombre when hes trying to convince someone not to go down a dark path#my stomach HURTS. see saejima could have given me medicine because he is so kind#you have got to forgive him for pinning haruka to the ground with his knee between her legs like you need to forgive him#that was a slipup he was never planning on doing anything and he was very sorry for it ... i swear to you he just froze up he wasnt planning#on touching her or anything ... you know whos truly to blame ? kiryu. for standing there once again like a stone starue and letting it happe#hey ‘suzuki’ (lol thats a good one i might steal it later) i know youre an escaped convict because of the animalistic look in yout eye when#you pinned my twelve year old daughter to the ground and slobbered on her. and not the other telltale signs like you wearing a prisoners#outfit when you washed up on shore (lol) no there were no other clues. that was what tipped me off#hated kiryu in y4 he is useless. i will never forgive him. see saejima was panicking because haruka was going to call an ambulance. kiryu#had a cool head and he still decided to do some stupid shit. too bad i badly want men who make bad decisions and want to fuck kiryu so much

Note
I realize this is not the typical request you get so pls ignore if u don't wanna write it, it's totally fine. :3 I'd like some headcanons for the blorbos as supernatural creatures!
Hi hi hello hello, sorry it took so long to get this one done. I've actually been planning it out since I got it because it's not one I can do easily off the top of my head. I wanted to incorporate as much stuff as I could so it took a while to really lay thoughts down finally. Anyways, here it IS. It includes supernatural and mythological creatures from multiple cultures, btw. Sorry if I missed any particular faves.
Kiryu Kazuma: Dragon
Bit on the nose but our Kiryu can't be anything but a dragon. Powerful to a point of being otherworldly and with a driving fire in his belly, Kiryu is dragon similar to that of Haku from Spirited Away. He is simaltaneously tormented by his spiritual being but also extremely conscious of his abilities and how to use them. Sometimes he fears the sharpness of his own claws and wonders if his powers couldn't be used for something better or at the very least gentler.
Majima Goro: Ouroboros
With his snakeskin jacket, Majima is an ouroboros in walking human form. Known as the snake that holds its own tail in its mouth, Majima is his own best friend and worst enemy. His lifestyle of being on the absolute razor edge has left him holding his own fate in his hands, or in some cases, his mouth. He constantly lives in a state of holding on to his own past or biting it off entirely and becoming someone separate from it.
Saejima Taiga: Werewolf
Equally sensitive as he is strong, a werewolf is the perfect personification of who Saejima is and his internal struggle. He's very much a man who has a love/hate relationship with his supernatural struggle. On one hand, it makes him able to protect those he loves and stand up for what's right. On the other hand, he feels like he's controlled by it more than anything. He often questions if there's more to his life than brutish force.
Akiyama Shun: Centaur
Swift and steadfast like a stallion, all with the charisma and temperment of a human being. Handsome by nature but stands out in his own special way. Although he is prone to living lazily in his own comfort, when push comes to shove, he wouldn't hesitate to race to your side when you need him. Also really good at kicking people really hard.
Tanimura Masayoshi: Moon Rabbit
Small but mighty. Typically found alone despite having connections to other beings or even working under other more powerful creatures. Agile and has a penchant for sweet foods. Many people see him but truly do not know much about him.
Ryuji Goda: Basilisk
Similar to Kiry, Ryuji embodies a powerful snake-like creature. Although Ryuji also has great physical force, his form is slightly more reserved in that respect. If he desired, he could simply destroy another person with so much as a glance, choosing to raise his fists only for fights and people he deems truly worthy.
Nishikiyama Akira: Shachihoko
With the body of a carp and the head of a dragon, Nishiki's tattoo is truly the embodiment of what kind of mythological creature he would be. Always trailing the cusp of greatness, Nishiki finds himself trying to evolve while also struggling to remain true to himself. It's this very struggle that in the end either transforms him entirely into one being or the other or simply tears him apart.
Daigo Dojima: Sphinx
Daigo is a multifaceted person with a complex life, which only makes it fitting that his supernatural form be equally complicated. Part man, part lion, and part eagle, Daigo in his older age is a balance of brute strength, intelligence, and justice. He tries his hardest to embody the best of all these qualities but struggles to find the balance within himself. Sometimes this drive to be the best of everything leads him astray, blinding him from what really matters.
Mine Yoshitaka: Chimera
Our mysterious Mine is not understood by anyone. He's truly an engima, with his form changing varying on the situation he's in and who's nearby. Sometimes Mine doesn't know who he is and loses himself in between these transformations. Ultimately, it's this constant desire to change himself that is the end of him.
Tatsuo Shinada: Tanuki
Playful yet mysterious, Shinada is a shapeshifting tanuki that transforms as he needs to survive. Mostly content to get by day to day, saying and doing what he must to make it to yet another day. Partial to free stuff, snacks, and lying through his teeth to avoid hard work or responsibilities.
Ichiban Kasuga: Phoenix
Wonder-boy Ichiban cannot die. Even at his lowest, he doesn't die, he simply transforms and shines even brighter. Although constantly pushing harder and forward in life does tire him out, he always comes back stronger than ever. Somtimes even he's amazed at what he's capable of when he puts his mind to it.
Yu Nanba: Ratatoskr
Known in Norse mythology as the messenger between the eagles Yggdrasil and the serpent Niohoggr, Nanba's time as a homeless man has caused him to observe all walks of life and made him a silent but observant person. Known more his brains than his brawn, Nanba finds ways to be of importance without necessarily shedding blood, either his own or someone else's.
Koichi Adachi: Minotaur
All brawn no brains, our Adachi. He's got a good heart in there somewhere deep down but the years have made him a little jaded. Fears his only purpose is to hand out ass whoopings and nothing else meaningful. Once he gets really riled up, good luck with that fight. The man can really pummel when he feels like it. Spends most of his alone time just doing his own thing. No one really knows what else he does, honestly.
Tianyou Zhao: Qilin
Known as a symbol of good luck, Zhao floats through life either trying his best to give better fortune to others or just getting extremely lucky himself. He tries to make it appear as though it's easy or that it comes naturally to him, but he does exert quite a bit of effort underneath the surface.
Joon-Gi Han: Selkie
Depending on the situation he's in, he can either put on or remove the skin necessary to preserve his own life. Often feels like a fish out of water, pun intended. Typically alone but people find themselves drawn to him anyways, mostly for his physical beauty. Beneath his desirable outer appearance, he harbors great power.

Ice Guy and His Cool Female Colleague Episode 6: Bait & Switch
Tumblr media
So, that was an episode. I loved it, but at the same time I just want to rant about how it ended. So we'll start there.
Cmon man, why are we still faking people out with confessions in this day and age, and with a mature romance at that? It's not needed, it's not good, it's not even funny because they don't capitalize on it in any way.
Tumblr media
It's just straight painful. They didn't use it to set up an actual confession afterwards, and even worse is the fact that they then followed this scene up with a fireworks show and a sleepy train ride home. Two perfect opportunities to go for broke and have Himuro confess, but neither happened. It's got me super annoyed because it's such a cheap trope to inject drama into a moment. They easily could have left out Himuro trying to confess to Fuyutsuki, and it would have been perfectly fine.
Alright, rant over. Now then, the good stuff from the episode. These recent episodes have been really nice in terms of expanding upon all the characters. They start to grow and relax around each other to show a more personal side overall. You see it with stuff like Saejima and his sort cluelessness in personal situations versus how oddly aware he can be in regards to others. Or with Komori and how she hides her more subtle and sensitive emotions behind enthusiastic outbursts. And then there's of course Himuro and Fuyutsuki. Himuro continues to come out of his shell and be brave and take charge, rather than following around. My favorite bit from that change is how forthcoming he is in being jealous, great to see both ends of his spectrum and what they end up as.
Tumblr media
And then there's Fuyutsuki, who's working on being more open with her emotions, and willing to interact outside of her comfort zone. Seeing her become shy and awkward at time sis incredibly cute, and adds a totally different angle to her appeal as a character. (I just wish we could see some different visual effects for Fuyutsuki, the same stuff all the time is getting a little boring)
Tumblr media
Really, the episode was quite a bit of fun, but that confession bait really bothers me. It's such a simple thing to not do, there's nothing special to it but it still ends up a part of it. Alongside that, I definitely am starting to find the direction getting rather lazy. Plenty of repeated set pieces and visuals and so on and so forth, it ends up taking away from the overall feel of it. I'd say it ends up making it a little flat, sure, but the show itself is still more than enough to be enjoyable. The romance is fun and fresh, the characters warm and able to act mature without making it dry, and the progression of it all has a very nice flow (characters aren't constantly nervous around each other now). So all I'd really say is to temper expectations in terms of visuals, it's pretty, but it's not something that will blow you away or impress you with each episode.

Minami Anon x3 but so real………. Yeah idk how old he's meant to be but he very much gives me like 21-30 35 at oldest age range vibes. Which I think/agree is a factor in Why He Is Like That. I know its technically noncanon but i also think a lot about the implications of Minami once never drinking but then when he discovered fire breathing he started drinking 24/7 from this one scene w Majima in dead souls like hmmmmmmm….. wonder what’s going on there buddy…….. something you'd like to share with the class Minami about how you perceive yourself/any potential wants for attention. Anyways it’s okay if the you sound untranslatable I understand and also relate to that feeling of 24/7 thinking i come across as incomprehensible 💖 no pressure to do so but I would personally love to read that Saejima teacher ramble and how it affects Minami etc etc also
ohhh man it's canon. if we're taking rggo's scraps as having some relevancy then dead souls absolutely is canon. and more importantly, its canon TO ME (takes consecutive puffs of my copium inhaler)
Tumblr media
yeah i had this at the ready. yeah. i tear my shirt open and it has "the line from dead souls where Majima outs Minami as a fucking square" tattooed across my chest. not the line itself but those exact words. i cannot describe how his charm shot thru the fucking roof to me when i heard he used to be completely straight edge!! what a fucking dork!! come here i'm giving you a wedgie boy
and then the ehhhh half-subjective half-objective tragedy of him succumbing to a vice to the point of functional alcoholism (or currently functional aud as some folks call it, which is unfortunate naming conventions for those who use australian currency) implying he's been a "pretty good drinker" for an extended amount of time. and the kicker is majima totally could not care less. there's no evidence to Him Specifically being the one who got Minami to drink but it's absolutely regular Family practice, if the boy wants to fit in with the Majimagumi he needs to top up!
hc shit-i-made-up territory but i LIKE to believe that Majima personally influenced him this way during whatever limited time they had in direct contact with each other (cause while you COULD have their dynamic between a twat who signed up + the twat who runs the business and nothing more its not as fun. a little too parasocial methinks) but this is 99% due to me finding a song that makes me imagine the perfect sequence for this (dont get me.started on Majimagumi songs. i like to delude myself into thinking i'll animate to one of them eventually). also considering the kind of man Majima was during Shimano-servant-era i feel like it wouldnt be too out of character. he's not a malicious person but by god he does stupid shit and hurts people so much in so many horrific ways he could not care less about putting some highschool level peer-pressure shit on the new recruit just because he's Bored. what's one more hurt person in the grand scheme of things.
Alllso... getting back on track..? WHY was Minami straight edge in the first place. it could be any reason under the sun but the way it's worded here really sounds like it took a lot of willpower to break his resolve to just have a sip, just tryyyyyyy it, yadda yadda. if Minami is as punk as i totally project unto him to be, then he'd be no stranger to lives lived in excess..... i could not tell you for certain that Straight-Edge was a Punk Thing in pre-2010 Japan whatsoever. an attitude, sure, but i'm talking music scene shit........ however, gigs involve lots of booze at the bare minimum regardless of country. 'tis just the way of life. and 'tis a plausible outlet for WHY he seemed to have such a strong unwillingness to drink....
you know, outside of other stuff like experiences with friends and family. those can work too. those are considerably more sad and personal... those can work alongside gig culture shit. i dont have anything explicitly outlined but its definitely something i'd like to write for him... make up a little backstory so i can maybe explore some themes that RGG wouldn't touch with a ten foot pole, like addiction. it interests me a lot and getting it somewhat RIGHT interests me a lot. i know for sure RGG would fuck it up LMAO

Before Majima Lost His Eye
Tumblr media
(C/W : toxic relationships , abuse, spoilers for yakuza 0)
I saw a fanart of two-eyed Majima and wondered if before his eye loss, Majima would’ve been considered a pretty boy by the other yakuza members who saw him.
Then I wondered of his relationship with Shimano.
Canonically, the games don’t reveal much, but I want to assume from the brief details in Yakuza 0 that: 1. Majima’s a favourite of Shimano
He implies this in the following scene:
Tumblr media
2. Majima has complex feelings towards him My opinion is that Majima caught Shimano’s attention for his looks, then built a reputation for his ruthless fighting skills. Majima became Shimano’s favourite before he’s sent to the Hole for disobeying orders. Logically, after all this, Majima would hate Shimano, right? But events in 0 prove otherwise. Majima had the perfect opportunity to serve retribution and kill Shimano after he sold out the Tojo clan to Omi during the Empty Lot conflict. It’s possible it’s playing to the canonical “Majima cannot kill” trope that is emphasized during the start of the game, but it could also be that he simply does not want to kill Shimano. Previously, we see him ready to kill the entire Dojima family, including its patriarch and lieutenants. It was only after Sera stepped in that Majima reconsidered. In Shimano’s case, he was encouraged by Sera, and Sagawa too didn’t seek to stop him. Yet, Majima didn’t go through with it.
Why?
Shimano and Majima’s relationships mimics that of a toxic parent-child one.
Tumblr media
If you have experienced or observed toxic parent-child relationships, you’ll be able to find certain patterns.
The parent figure will brandish their power/abuse over their child in the name of “discipline”
Shimano does exactly this when he sent Majima to the Hole and then to be exiled in Sotenbori after Majima defies his order. The parent figure doesn’t think much of said punishment, but the child figure is often traumatized and learns to fear the parent.
We see this time and time again when Majima sits down with Shimano. He’s clearly afraid of him. Shimano on the other hand, sometimes appear as if he doesn’t really remember that he sent Majima to the Hole and imprisoned him in Sotenbori.
Tumblr media
Despite all this, the child refuses to leave or exact revenge on the parent beyond reasons such as money/shelter/filial support.
Majima doesn’t need Shimano at this point, as 0 has established. Sera has implied that Majima could very well rejoin Tojo and not be held for offing Shimano, but he chooses not to. Is it his loyalty? Principles? Why would he choose the harder way to his goal (building a family and a place for Saejima) by risking of his own life (by choosing to sacrifice himself for the betrayal Shimano committed in 0 when he sold out Tojo to Omi)? Did he do it to find out if Shimano cared about him enough to not kill him? We know that Majima matters enough to Shimano that he doesn’t shoot Majima, we just don’t know as what. Maybe Majima’s just a weapon to him. Maybe he does care enough like a parent would to a child, no matter how abusive they are. Nobody knows, and we can only assume what Majima felt when he’s finally reabsorbed into the family and then made captain. So does Majima hate Shimano?
Yes and no.
A better word for what I think Majima feels for Shimano is hurt. Hurt that Shimano did what he did, and yet he can’t bring himself to fully defy him. He learns to repress this and make a name for himself, but when Shimano dies, the feelings come back. He says Shimano deserves it, but he’s not entirely happy about it. After all, this is the man who raised him to where he’s risen in the Tojo clan, even if he partially broke him.
(opinions are entirely my own and you’re free to yours, lmk what you think!)

A Particular Kyoudai’s New Years
Spoilers for Y4 and Y5
This one is extremely near and dear to my heart, it’s so so nice. I had to do a lot of cultural research for it because I didn’t know a whole lot about new years traditions in japan, so expect a lot of notes in this one too.
Tumblr media
This one was also a sugoroku event, here’s the chibi Saejima to go with it.
Tumblr media
I also really like the details on Majima’s new years outfit, look at the hannya snakes on the fan and on the liner fabric!
Tumblr media
That was the only card I put real life money in to get, I spent so many diamonds on him. I had saved up around 7k and ground out another 7k from stories I hadn’t done yet and still had to put in 10 bucks before I got him, but I still have every single Majima card so it’s worth it.
Summary: At the end of 2012, Saejima has been served his papers to go back to jail, and will be going back in a week. Majima decides that they should celebrate this New Years in a big way then! Saejima would really rather just stay home, but Majima has a whole day planned out and it’s going to end with a bang.
It’s New Years Day, 2013. Saejima will be returning to jail in a week, and is currently with Majima in the family office. Saejima complains that Majima is already drinking, Majima retorts that New Years is a drinking holiday, so he’s gonna drink! Saejima doesn’t feel much like celebrating since Kiryu’s still in the hospital.
Saejima: You're too youthful, kyoudai. How are ya burnin' even brighter than ya were back then? Majima: You've always been an old man. ...Yeah, that settles it!  Saejima: What? Majima: I want my kyoudai to have a great new year! Let's start the celebrations!! Saejima: Wh- all the sudden? Ehhh, let's just have a quiet time together here. Majima: What, just gonna blow me off? Saejima: ...Okay. Where we going? Majima: I'm gonna get us a ride, don't worry! Go get yourself ready. Hey! Nishida! Nishida: On it sir! Saejima: ...? Majima: <changes clothes> Yeah! Now I'm feelin' the new year!
Tumblr media
Saejima: ...Are we really goin' out like this?
Tumblr media
Majima: Of course we are, idiot! Why the hell else would I get changed!
Tumblr media
Majima: Alright! Let's roll out in my favorite yukata~ Saejima: Good grief. Don't get too excited. I guess goin' on a little date can't be helped huh. Well, he'll probably get tired of it right away. (Tl note: date here is  付き合い which is more “associating” in the dictionary but used a LOT for romantic dates)
The two of them make their way to their first stop, a back alley where they’re going to play hanetsuki, which is similar to badminton. Saejima dunks on Majima’s fashion choices. Majima complains that there aren’t enough people around to see his fashion choices.
They finally stop squabbling about fashion and get ready to play only to get interrupted by two goons who start talking shit. Majima asks if they should just beat them up, that could be fun? Saejima says nah, they’re not even worth the effort, besides we were here first so they have to step off. Majima throws his wallet into the air because he’s tired of carrying it, and the goons agree that whoever wins at hanetsuki gets to stay.
Unfortunately, Majima wants to hit EVERYTHING, and collides with Saejima in his attempt to steal a shot that Saejima could have gotten easily. Saejima declares that they each gotta stay on their own side and deal with only stuff on that side. Majima gets bored of playing since he has to actually wait, and zones out while a shot sails right past him.
Saejima is ready to throttle him.
Tumblr media
Saejima: Kyoudai! Stop bein' so moody! goon a: Hahaha! You keep calling each other kyoudai but you're not in sync at all (Tl note: this is also like, a match for each other, as in "they are a perfect match for each other") goon b: I guess they're """kyoudai""" huh? Haha. Both: WHO'S NOT IN SYNC, IDIOTS??
Tumblr media
They were down 9:0, but from here on play seriously, and come back to win 10:9. The goons jump them, because they want Majima’s wallet full of cash, and unsurprisingly get their asses kicked by the jimas.
Next up they head to Tojo HQ; turns out the Majima Family has rented the whole place out for New Years. Minami has prepared something...
Tumblr media
The next stage is kakizome! It’s like a new years resolution. Majima, Nishida, and Minami all get to writing their new years goals, and Saejima thinks he’s kind of old to be doing this, but whatever. Nishida’s goal is revealed first: he wants to build a house for his parents!
Majima: Ughhhh, boring Nishida: I'M SORRY BOSS! Saejima: ...Nishida, why are you in the Majima family...? Minami: Boss! I'm done with mine!! Majima: Let's see if you did good... Minami: Here it is! "REVENGE MATCH"
Minami says that he wants to get as good as Majima, who is clearly better than Saejima, so he needs to get a rematch with Saejima after losing to him 3 years ago. Majima is thrilled, Saejima agrees to the fight. Saejima wins but says Minami is getting stronger, and if he keeps at it maybe he can still fulfil it this year. Majima says he's done with all this new years writing and Saejima says he already wrote his, it's "The Top". It's also the exact thing that Majima wrote down.
Saejima: Back when I was in the Sasai family, I wanted to make a name for him. I felt like I wanted to see how far up the ladder I could climb. I keep that feelin' with me even now. Majima: Hehehe! I think we'll see who's the strongest soon. Kyoudai... even if I'm your opponent, don't give up on that feeling, alright? Saejima: Heh, that's my line
Onwards to stage 3! This time it’s hatsumōde, the first shrine visit of the year.
Saejima: We're doin' this in the wrong order. Majima: Whatever! I'm gonna go pray! Saejima, internally: Kyoudai... why are you makin' such a mysterious face? It's not like you to rely on a god Saejima: What'd you write on your ema? I already got my miracle Majima: Don't worry none about me. Next we're drawin' you a fortune! Saejima: ...? Saejima: So this is the fortune huh... oh! Major blessing! (Tl note: the luckiest possible draw) What's it say, what's it say... "You are going to have the best fight of your life"... Wow, this is one dangerous shrine! What the hell?
Saejima immediately gets jumped by a goon. Those fortunes work fast, huh? He wins easily and threw the goon into the ema wall and knocked them over, and when he was picking them back up he found Majimas which said "I wish that Sasai will recover"
"Thank you so much. Kyoudai."
Tumblr media
Next we’re doing fukubukuro, new years blind bags that have random items at a discount. The guy selling them sure looks reputable!
Tumblr media
They both buy one and head over to the park to open them, but Majima gets a call that the Majima Family office has been robbed! Everyone was at Tojo HQ, but they’re looking for who did it now. Even Majima’s safe was opened and the contents taken. Majima apologizes and has to run off to the office, leaving Saejima to open the bags himself. The first one has............... a snakeskin jacket? He knows Majima custom orders these! The shop keeper!
Saejima goes back and kicks his ass and recovers all the Majima Family items in time for Majima to come back. The item in the safe was a wedding ring, and Majima apparently hasn’t told Saejima anything about being married. Saejima wonders what else Majima has gone through while he was in jail.
Now we’re doing osechi, traditional new years food! Nishida made a dish, and here’s the general meanings of what all he put in them:
tai - good luck ebi - long life kazunoko - wanting a lot of kids in the coming year (Tl note: this one caught be off guard but it’s PROBABLY wanting to grow the families lol) roast beef - no special meaning date maki - more good luck
Two Majima family guys are out in front of HQ making mochi, but they got way too much. Minami ate so much of it that he collapsed, but Saejima refuses to let this rice flour go to waste, so he and Majima head out to theater square and just start making mochi there. Minami and Nishida are selling it to everyone, and it’s a huge hit.
(This guy is saying it’s really delicious, but his face is looking like they just shot his dog)
Tumblr media
Some dude hassles them about the mochi, they kick the shit out of him, and get down to their final two. Majima says he knows exactly who he wants to give them to, and takes Saejima to Yasuko’s grave.
Tumblr media
Saejima thinks to himself that there's no question about it, when he's not around Majima is always taking care of this grave. He tries to give Majima the "thank you so much" line but Majima brushes it off as something he just felt like doing, nbd
Majima: Well, Majima Goro's present to you this year is this new year's tour. Did ya like it? Anythin' ya still wanna do? Saejima: Nothin'. This whole day has been a lot of fun. Majima: That so? Good, then it's time for the final stop. Let's go... kyoudai.
Tumblr media
Majima: It's been a long time since we've been here. Since that fight Saejima: Yeah. Why's this the final stop of our tour? Majima: Heh, why indeed? ..............I decided on that night that if it was the end, I wanted to go all the way, but I didn't get to. And now, you're going back to jail. Leaving things all pent up and half done just isn't in my nature. Saejima: Did you do this whole tour just for this? Majima: More or less. Well, there were some troubles on the way. Hanetsuki for a warm up. New Year's writing to make sure ya still had that fire in ya. Saejima: And that fortune saying I'd have the best fight of my life... I shoulda figured somethin' was up. Majima: Does it hurt to just get that now? And the grab bags... that went kinda sideways, but I intended it to be some stress relief.  And then deliscious food is good for ya mentally and physically. Saejima: I'm amazed at how into this you are. Do you remember what you said before? "You're gettin' soft, come back to the Tojo clan with your teeth sharpened. If ya get soft, it's over for you". <RECEIVE AND SLASH YOU CUTS IN> Well, let's check if my fangs are soft now. Majima: ...Hehehe. Yeah, that's the look I wanna see! That's Saejima Taiga... my kyoudai! Saejima: Let's go, Majima!!
They fight and both collapse to the ground and gush about how much fun this all was. The ending card then cuts in
A few days later.......... Saejima Taiga himself suspended his probation and turned himself in. He was sent to Abashiri prison. Majima continued supporting Daigo and the Tojo clan. In their pursuit of climbing all the way to the top of the Tojo clan.............. these two beasts will keep fighting.
<END>
Whew! Also, ouch!!
I also translated most if not all of Saejima’s thoughts, here’s some of the highlights.
Batting Center I went with my kyoudai to the batting center. We used to bring Yasuko stuff like homerun prizes as gifts. ...I miss her. Wood Carving As part of my penal labor I learned wood carvin', so now it's a hobby of mine. One is being displayed by the entrance to HQ.
Kanrai I joined up cause of my patriarch. The Sasai Family was a respectable and good family, which I should feel good about, but I just feel sorry
Purgatory Coliseum Why would you fight a tiger? People really are fuckin' idiots nowadays. I'm going to make em stop. The tiger's miserable. Kyoudai Wearin' an eyepatch and makin' a ruckus... He really changed a lot while I was gone, but the same roots are still there. He really is Majima Goro. Hair style In the old days I would let my hair grow out until Yasuko complained, but going with the shaved look ain’t too bad. This is the only thing I can empathize with Shimano on.
Stray Cats These cats were abandoned. I've already gotten attached. Well, I guess the number of cats in the family office is gonna increase...
Clothes Even now I still wear the clothes I got from Kiryu. Heh. That guy has good taste. I’m still wearing hand-me-downs. Karaoke It’s not that I hate singing, but I don’t like doin’ it in front of people. I’ll play the tambourine though.

Can you write what Majima's wedding day would be like 🥺👉👈
Ooh I’ve wanted to write about this for a while in fact. 👀 I fully believe that unlike Saejima, who’d want a traditional Japanese wedding, Majima would lean more towards something low-key and modern, maybe he’d even want to just elope and call it a day.
But, as I’ve discussed before, if the marriage has any hopes of working, his spouse has to accept all of him, yakuza and bloodshed included... and he has to agree to share his whole life with them too.
So then, maybe a ceremony that introduces and includes his partner in the clan could work. And since I felt inspired... mini-fic below! 💗
Over and over, he runs a shaky hand down the back of his head, as the tailor circles him like a hawk. The two other men sitting behind him are also watching intently, following the old craftsman’s gestures — a tug on a sleeve here, a tightening of the seam there. It’s been going on for the past 20 minutes at least and he’s starting to get restless.
“Jeez, ya sewing me into this thing? I ain’t even the bride,” Majima grumbles.
“Seein’ how ya like to rip yer suits clean off, what’s an extra stitch or two, kyodai?”
“Hey, least I ain’t bustin’ through them just by bendin’ over,“ he quips back, making eye contact with Saejima through the mirror.
Normally he’d try to imitate his bro at this point, make a show out of flexing his slim biceps to the point where you could, maybe, just barely, make out their outline through the fabric. It’s the best you can when you’re not built like the big tiger. But he knows today isn’t a day to play the clown.
“Apologies, sir,“ the tailor speaks, fastening Majima’s sleeve button again, for the tenth time after he’s fiddled it undone.
“I’m almost finished. You haven’t had a new suit fitted in years, I want to make sure everything’s perfect as it should be.”
Well, come to think of it, there hasn’t been much reason to visit the old man’s shop lately. Snakeskin jackets are in constant supply, so much so that he doesn’t even have to call for a re-order, they simply deliver a new one right to his office every month or so. And as for suits... it’s not like he gets much use out of those, outside of the odd stuffy meeting Daigo makes him attend.
Heh. It pleases him to think that for once, the tables are turned and Daigo’s the invitee. Closing his eye, Majima can almost picture him pacing solemnly around the reception hall, chatting to Kiryu-chan or intimidating the hell out of every Majima family member, through his attendance alone. Maybe he’s getting to know the star of the ceremony, the one the boys already reverently call “ane-san”. Or maybe she hasn’t taken the stage yet, still busy getting fretted over, same as him. After all, that dress has gotta be just...
“Perfect. Right ya are. Y’know, I figured an occasion like this could use some new threads.”
And not the kinda fancy outfit you wear once and never again. Rather, something sharp and stylish and versatile. Attached to a memory, like all his costumes before. Only this one he’s determined to keep a pleasant memory, more comforting and symbolic than even the ring he’ll be hiding under his glove from now on.
He’s deep into daydreaming about how one day he’ll be wearing this same suit to his son or daughter’s wedding when Nishida, who’s been sitting quietly all this time, breaks the silence.
“Are you nervous, oyaji?”
“Haw? No way!” He smooths through his fresh undercut again, like a man who’s definitely at least a little bit nervous.
“I mean, it ain’t like I’m gettin’ cold feet, it’s just... “
“Not your everyday yakuza event, right?” Nishida offers.
Yeah. It’s not exactly a Tojo clan get-together, but it’s not your average wedding either. Tonight the guest list for large banquet hall at HQ skews much more eclectic: a handful of officers (the ones he can trust), some old friends like Kiryu, the chairman of course. There are no mother in laws or other relatives to speak of. Blood ties matter little. The former Sunshine girls, with Yuki at the forefront, make up the only other feminine presence apart from the bride and Majima can only hope they’re not already busy fending off advances from the more smooth-talking of his men. In fact, he’s not just hoping, he’s looking forward to putting them in their place, if need be. For all the Majima family youngsters, who’ve never even snuck a peek inside the Tojo walls before, this event is as much a treat as it is a test.
He blinks twice to dispel the haze that’s taken hold again.
“Man... who would’a thought an old hound like me would be turnin’ into a family man? Well, the other kind of family man,” he muses, picking his cufflinks as his new fidget toy. He can’t see it, but the other men exchange a glance that confirms they’re all in agreement: Majima was always “the other kind of family man.”
There’s only one more finishing touch to place — the bowtie. But as the tailor moves to loop it around his neck, Majima slips it from his hands.
“Gimme that.”
In over 20 years, not a soul has spotted Majima Goro wearing a bowtie, but somehow his fingers are uncannily skilled at tying it, a fact that doesn’t go unnoticed. They barely have time to comment on it though, because at once he turns around, beaming.
“How’s it look?”
“Handsome as always, oyaji!”
“Ya look... happy” Saejima mirrors his smile. “And handsome,” he concedes.
“But if yer ready... don’t keep her waitin’.”
Oh, Majima’s ready all right.

...I hear you’re doing drabble giveaways? :) I would love some nishitani/majima!! I saw you wanted to write a nishitani lives au and i hope you end up doing it because I would love to see how you write them ❤️
Aaaahhhh, thank you for this request <3 I hope you enjoy this little snippet, I really like Nishitani’s dynamic with Majima, because it’s so much about temptation and vices and flagrant hedonism that makes Majima value himself more as a person. Nishitani’s whole shtick is about pleasure and when Majima of Yakuza 0 is convinced he doesn’t deserve that, it makes for an excellent dynamic.
Somehow Nishitani has found Club Sunshine. Majima notices him on one of their busiest days, on the tailend of dealing with a problem customer, who'd had issues with the quality of their champagne. He's cloistered himself in one of the back booths, entertained by Saki-chan.
Majima snaps to attention and rushes over to the booth, even though Saki hasn't made the hand signal for help yet. He snaps his fingers, once, twice. "Out." He says, shortly, and feels a slow curl of rage within him as Nishitani just turns to give Majima a once-over, slow and lingering, smirk spreading over his face.
"Majima-kun, I didn't think ya'd turn down a payin’ customer." Nishitani drawls, with a self-satisfied grin.
"Payin’ customer or not, yer trouble. Out." Majima snaps, stiffly.
Saki turns to look at Majima, anxiously, but she doesn't seem especially perturbed by Nishitani's presence. What is it about his charm where somehow, girls who dislike being taken for granted, are magically alright with Nishitani's presence? The girls at the Grand too, had been surprisingly unfazed by Nishitani breaking Majima's 'Look-Don't-Touch' rules. "Majima-san..." she says, in that tone that means she's worried about him.
"Ya all good here?" Majima asks Saki, gently. For all that she's a strong woman who is used to taking care of herself, Majima wants her to know she can rely on him to defuse anything uncomfortable for her.
"Don't be so paranoid, Majima-kun. We're getting along just fine!" Nishitani squeezes Saki's bicep, in an overly-friendly way, and Majima scowls when Saki just giggles, not even vaguely discomfited.
"Not talking ta you, am I? Shaddup."
"I'm fine, Majima-san." Saki says, with a sunny smile.
Majima grimaces to and turns his gaze on Nishitani. It's a busy night. He really can't insist on running Nishitani away, not if he's going to behave himself and get them money. He's got other girls to take care of. "One step outta line, and I call the police, pronto. Ya won't get ta fight me at all." Majima says, firmly, and turns on his heel to walk away, before he can get a response.
Inbetween getting refills for Yuki and towels for Erranda, Majima hears snippets of their conversation all evening.
"I like my lovers strong, intent. Makes everything more fun, ya know?" "Nothin’ draws the eye more than a girl who's confident in herself." "Gotta love somebody who can take care of 'emselves."
The whole time, Saki just laughs, handles herself with her usual graceful aplomb, steers the conversation in pleasant, easy directions, showing off her prowess as the former star of Club Jupiter, perfectly adept at handling rougher types.
Majima seethes, quietly and tries to not watch them, listen to them. But he can't help it. Whenever he has even a momentary breather, his peripheral senses can't help but turn towards Nishitani. He justifies it to himself as keeping an eye out for trouble, but if he's being really honest with himself, that's not the primary reason.
Majima's always been drawn to strength. It's the one thing that has always shaped his path, shaped his destiny. It had been what had drawn to him to Saejima, like a moth to the flame, in the middle of those Tokyo streets as a youth. It had been what convinced Majima to chain himself to Shimano’s yoke, get the man’s motifs and markings all over his back. It had been what made Majima so comfortable in Fei Hu’s shop, and so familiar with Lee’s rough approach. A mixture of sheer adrenaline, blood-thumping through his entire chest, a shot of courage, fury and wild chaos, and desire, slow and cloying, curling up in the pit of his stomach, making him light-headed and short of breath. Majima’s life has been defined and drawn around strength, power, desire, ambition.
And Nishitani’s powerful. He’d felt the surges of his strength, precision and cleverness throughout that short fight through the Grand’s centre-stage. If Majima had slipped even once, if Majima had been anything less than perfect, propelled by the fury of confusion, he would have died to Nishitani’s blade.
That shouldn’t be as much of a turn-on as it is.
Especially not when considering Nishitani’s about twenty years past his prime. He’s from the same generation as Shimano, Sagawa, those old fucks who’ve caged him in, trapped him down. With freckled sun-spots smattered over wrinkling skin, and touches of grey to the roots of his hair, and his scarred, calloused hands, Majima shouldn’t be drawn to him in that way. Old, pervy fucker, he should represent everything Majima hates most about the generation of yakuza above him.
But he can’t help it. Nishitani’s presence is like a livewire, electrifying, dangerous, addictive. And Majima couldn’t look away, even if he wanted to.
When the evening shift draws to a close, Majima leaves Youda and Yuki to be in charge of wiping down the place and saying goodbye to the last of the customers. He dips out for a smoke instead, to try and gain control of his fraying nerves, to pull himself back into a modicum of calm. He can’t lose himself in this.
He’s not yakuza anymore. Just a man desperately trying to stay alive long enough to let Saejima kill him. And a man trying desperately to preserve any sense of goodness, keep that fragile spark of a girl safe inside that cold warehouse... none of him has room for Nishitani’s advances.
And yet...
“You ever consider lettin’ yer hair free, Majima-kun? Just for a moment?” Nishitani drawls, voice dangerously close to Majima’s. They’re outside the club now, and he’s not a paying customer anymore. That makes this interaction dangerous.
“No.” Majima says, puffing out a cool breeze of smoke straight into Nishitani’s face. The fucker doesn’t even flinch, just grins, that lightly mocking smile.
“Not even once? Shame that. Pretty things like you only gets better when they cut loose a little, live free.” Nishitani says, sauntering around to prop himself up over Majima, trapping him into the wall. It’s at once a threat of aggression, and a threat of something else, something more sensible. His hand comes in close, as if to caress Majima’s hair, but he stops just short of doing it, balances it against the wall instead.
Perhaps he senses Majima’s internal tension, perhaps he knows that Majima will deck him the moment Nishitani lays a hand on him. Or maybe it’s something like respect for Majima’s rules. (Majima dismisses that thought immediately, Nishitani wouldn’t know respect if it came up to him and sucked his dick.)
Despite himself, Majima swallows a little, as he takes another deep inhale of the cigarette. “The fuck do you want? I ain’t tellin’ you where Makoto is.”
Nishitani grins. From up close, Majima can smell the alcohol on his breath, whiskey, cigarettes and something else, a little deeper. It’s not exactly a good smell, but it’s a familiar smell, a comfortable smell. Nishitani is the epitome of the yakuza lifestyle that Majima had grown up desiring.
“Don’t worry, Majima-kun. I ain’t here for that today. Got a little proposition for ya, instead.” he says, licking his lips. Majima can’t look away from his mouth, the slight pinkness of his tongue against his surprisingly dark lips, and so he almost misses Nishitani’s next sentence. “Got a job I need ya ter do for me.”
Majima frowns. “The fuck would I do that for?”
“Issa job only you can do” Nishitani grins, and waggles his eyebrows. “Compensate ya handsomely, of course.”
Majima rolls his eyes, but honestly, for cash-money, he’ll do just about anything for anybody, short of prostitution. Anything to get his debt to Shimano and Sagawa square. “What?” he asks, pretending to be bored, pretending none of this interests him.
“There’s this gambling club I run that’s been real trouble, lately. Won’t listen to a damn word I say, and they seem to be squirreling some cash away, some big winnings they managed to poach from a pack of fools. Can’t have that sort of shit on my turf.” Nishitani says, with a casual ease. “I’d send my boys in, but ya see, someone seems ta have done a number on ‘em, and they look about as threatening as a flock of pigeons, all covered in bandages like they are.”
“You could do it yerself.” Majima says, gaze darting down to Nishitani’s feet. Just over the edge of his socks, Majima can see the bandages, and he’s noticed that Nishitani holds himself with a limp. He’s clearly still injured from their fight, when Majima had shoved his fucking knife right inbetween his tendons.
“I could, but ya see, they know my face. They’d gear up for trouble the moment I stepped within a five-foot vicinity. You on the other hand...” Nishitani leans in, that smug grin only getting bigger.
Majima snorts, before he can stop himself. “Ya say that like everybody in this town doesn’t know my face, too.”
“Lord of the Night.” Nishitani agrees, and his voice hums with approval. “But ya see, yer reputation precedes you. Everybody knows ya don’t start fights, ya end them. So if you started a fight at the gambling parlour, not a damn soul would expect it.” There’s a crazed glint to Nishitani’s eyes, reflecting off the neon signs from the bars around them, and Majima shouldn’t be considering this at all, but he is. The thought of going in and smashing heads of people who actually deserve it always gets Majima’s blood simmering. He can’t help himself. He’s a creature nurtured on a diet of violence, and the Hole has changed him. It shaped him in the image of its own cruelty, and Majima had let its madness into his soul, or he would never have lived to see the sunlight again.
Majima wonders what had made Nishitani this way.
“The fuck would I jeopardize my rep for? For you?” asks Majima, dangerously.
“I’ll owe ya one, just the pleasure of seein’ ya go crazy in there.” Nishitani says, leaning inwards, mouth just centimetres from Majima’s ear. “Whatever ya want, name it.”
Majima’s skin is alit with goosebumps, he feels like a leaf in the breeze, one touch would undo him, undo all of Majima’s tightly laced boundaries, would unravel everything that has kept him safe and alive. If Nishitani pressed even an inch closer, Majima would agree to just about anything he asked. And they both know it, it’s the electric spark between them, Nishitani’s complete understanding of how fragile everything about Majima’s existence is.
But Nishitani doesn’t touch him, just lets his breath caress the inner curve of Majima’s ear and pulls back, eyes glinting with maleficent amusement.
He wants Majima to make the step on his own. He wants Majima to come apart at his own behest. Fucking sadist.
“Well. Let me know. Ya know where ta find me.” Nishitani says, slow and languid. “Be seein’ ya, Majima-kun.”
He saunters away without a care in the world, and Majima lets the cigarette drop from his mouth and presses his back against the wall outside Club Sunshine, desperately trying to quell the fire within him that blazes in indignation at letting Nishitani just walk away from him.

Mermay EVENT
||————————————————————————————————————————————||
Topic: Mermay -Month long event for May 2021
Subject: GaoGaiGar Police Verse
IMPORTANT NOTE:
The events and personalities/history of characters are not CANON to either show or universe. It’s only for the event of mermay and this universe only. Please do not think these changes in character are canon. As well it’s not required to read the about for characters, but just there for help or any questions on them.
-Thank you for reading <3
[Mobile format in mind, just a heads up]
||————————————————————————||
The A.I units are waterbased and land based, though some are able to be air based as well. They were created by the Brave Police and Three G almost at the same time. Though each company was very much oblivious to the actions of each other, mostly due to how they wanted to keep it a secret due to the slowly rising cases of oceanatic life and pollution suspected to be done by the rising ALPHA and Pollion organizations. The Brave Police and Three G would both end up coming together after their units were released and ended up meeting one another.
The Three G and Brave Police ended up merging their programs and working with one another. Which would lead to the creation of the new ocentic rehibilitation center in Nanamagari city near the oceans edge. The purpose being to save, clean, heal, and then return ocean life to the ocean if found harmed or lost. As well as taking in mermaid pods and lost mermaids. It also holds other areas open to the public for learning needs, sometimes holding more open and social mermaids to the public to watch heal or learn about. The creatures that live in the zoo for full or lifetime usually can be found in very suitable permanent tanks. The commissioners of the Units as well can be found around the zoo/lab. Sometimes blending into the area around them.
Zonders can be found in both land, water, and air. Zonders are harmful to the ocean and it’s creatures as well. they are very agressive adn do attempt to either harm, damage permanently, or kill their host. There are as well poactures and hunters that go after these creatures, to which the A.I units of both organizaitons and stations go after to protect and contain as well as arrest-of course. Another thing to note in this universe is that there are far more units present as well as other people. Zonders to note as well target mermaids, mostly to build up and use them to their advantage. Which leads to....[ ]. Zonders are a very high threat, more then the humans who attempt to create and harm the life around them. Zonders are highly toxic and can easily spread and grow in population due to the high amount of ocean creatures and fish. As well as human beach goers and air born life forms. Zonders can as well take on human forms and life forms though cannot get the eyes right nor voice or sounds. Usually keeping to their usual sounds.

Common picks on Takayasu, || Takayasu comes from a high class family and has a high intelligence, he also gets picked on by Reiko. he’s friendly and tends to get the newest technology. ||| sueo is the younger brother of Ushiyama. He’s strong for his age and can be seen feeding the mermaids and animals after, during, and before the labs/zoo opens up. He isn’t too bright but he usually makes that up for thinking out of the box.

He is known to be willing to protect others even if it places himself in danger.
Ai Amami and Ammi Amami: Mamoru’s and Yuuta’s parents, not their birth parents but adoptive parents. they care for the two and would give anything for them to be safe.
Alouette: A almost genious-level child, she is around seven years old and almost tops Entouji. though they level out mid way. She was the one to help and complete Program Drive of GaogighGar’s final fusion sequense. She suffers from Amnesia, though this did lead her to live a normal life. however, she still retains high intelligence. however, this is not used in order to keep her living a normal life and childhood. Only used if needed. Even then she usually isn’t bothered by it. She is usually with Renais and Regina or playing with the other kids.
Regina: From Scottland and with her units from the Scottland yard. She is very studious, strict, polite, lady like, and graceful. She has a habit of getting protective of her units and hateful or spiteful towards anyone who dares harm them. She can hold a grude for years, though, once joining the labs she’s opened up and softened. Espeically with yuuta’s help. She’s learned to be less strict. though she has a protective grisp on her units still. It’s not as bad as before.
Renais: A cybrog formed aganst her will. She never wanted it, though she had no say. Being kiddnapped at a young age and witnissing her families death say for her father. To who she still has a resentment for at times. She’s strong willed, iron fisted, intelligent, sassy, and confident. She always is ready to put herself in the way of danger to protect those she loves, as well as work to help herself. She’s very confident in herself though has a low self-esteem at times. Renais is usually one to be serious in her work and focus on the objective. She has her own units and is part of Chasseur of France. She has some sort of bond with Alouette. With time she has softened up slightly, only slightly. She’s learned to have a bit of fun but be serious, with Mamauro’s and Yuuta’s help.

A.I UNITS
||————————————————||
Ms.Piggy: A simple unit who can communicate with the units in certain beeping patterns. She commonly serves oil to them. Suspected to have a bond with volfogg.
Enryuu and Hyoryuu: two twins of the units, Enryuu being the oldest and Hyoryu being the youngest. Enryuu is more hot-headed, clumsy, fun, and blunt, Hyoryu is more serious, cool, friendly, and sweet. Enryu has fire based abilties and able to heat things up and Hyoryu being able to use ice and the cold to his advantage. They both as based off of Tiger sharks.
GoldyMarg: Once part of the Three G, he was zonderfied to the horror of the other units. Sadly, able to keep his self awareness but do nothing from distruction. He is based off a squid. Which only makes him more dangerous. He is often noted to be highly aggressive and dangerous. He has been spotted sinking several ships and taking Zonderfied A.I units to the surface for attacks.
GetsuRyuu+NichiRyu: Two twins built in Germany. they both are very sweet, intelligence, quick with actions, and elegant like the other two girls. They are very close with one another and often have to keep little Shouryu, Bishop, Drill Boy, and Mic out of trouble. They are based off Squids and the one able to fly, the only ones both flight, land, and water based. They can fly in the air due to their blasters and light weight metals.
Volfogg: A sleek and spy built unit, he is very quiet and keep to himself half the time. Often seen sleeping or doing work. He is built after a Seal. Volfogg has some sort of relationship with Ms.Piggy and is seen chatting with Entouji half the time. He is also one of the only units able to walk both on land and swim. He is very graceful and silent. Making him very scary at times due to his sudden apperances. He is often seen looking over late recording of missing or absent agents and workers.
Furyu and Rairyu: Both are land based units who are often based in China. Furryu is often seen as very childish, smart alic, abrasive, and couragous. Rairu is often seen as quiet, smart, brave, and couragous. They both tend to look after the workers and always on the edge due to the zonders getting lose.
Anryu and Kouryu: They are able to switch between both Water and land, but hardly do so. Even if they can, they are considered to be the second set of land based units, they are mostly seen swiming around. anryu is serious, quiet, and sassy. Kouryu is known to be bubbly, loud, and smart mouthed. Though the two are both very intelligent, elegant, and slick. anryu is able to use the darkness to her advantage due to her color and coding while Kouryu can use the light to her advantage. They are both based off Jellyfish and a bit of Beta fish.
Mic Sounders the 13th: He is another Land based A.I unit, commonly seen helping around and using his music to his advantage. He is loud, rembuncious, and joyful. He is also known to be very Childish. He will use his music to the advantage as well as vibrations around him. He’s a sweet unit in his minizied form but the other stuff comes out when he’s in his actual size. He tends to be a little to rambuncious at times but isn’t much of a threat. Just oblvious at times. however, when Swan’s around...he’s more calm and collected.
Rook and Pawn: twins that don’t look alike, they ain’t identical twins at all. Rook is classy and very quiet, Pawn is more loud and rambuncious. They are often seen working together when fighting but are pretty much opposet from one another outside of that. however, they do have a strong bond alonng like the others. They are as well land based. They both use their strangth and physical build for fighting.
Bishop: The youngest of all units, even from Shouryu. He’s meek at times, shy, soft toned, and passive. however, he can be very friendly when he wants to be. He’s often noted ot being the medic of the group along side Duke/Knight. He’s often seen alone and almost greaving the loss of one of his closet brothers/teammates. He’s land based as well. Has a staff he can use to his ability, though he cannnot use it to it’s full potential. Due to the hazard of it sucking all his energy away. this would cause his circuts to fry and in the end, be his death.
King: Able to be both land and water based, he is known to be silent, strong-willed, confident, and leaderlike. He doesn’t take anyones crap and very seirous in most if not all situations. though that is from all he’s had to do while under the old Regina’s control. He has softened up but that was mostly for Bishops sake. He’s more soft toned, quiet, strong-willed, and friendly. He’s based on a sea horse in his water form. He usually is seen with a sword for fights.
Duke/knight: After Goldymarg was lost, a search for him was sent out by the two organizations. However, this lead to a long and difficult battle between all the units. Leading to Knight being captured and as well being Zonderfied. He is land based so after falling into the water, he was easily captured. Leading him to being Zonderfied into a Kalpe type creature. So far no one’s seen him besides being seen before any fights. Suggesting he is a scout of sorts for them.
ShouRyuu: the second youngest of the group. Very naive, curious, childish, friendly, and sweet of the group. He’s very clingy to anyone bigger then him and is usually kept inside the headquarters, lab, or zoo. He can go onto land and into water. His water based form is of a simple Eel. he is able to work with electricty and able to control such. Luckily he cannot harm anyone if he does enter water. He tends to hang out and comfort Bishop.
Gunmax: A land based unit from America, he is commonly seen patroling the land and giving tickets. Though he is known to have a biker gang as friends. He honestly loves them, but is very much known to be a trouble maker. however, his charm, kindness, and joky behavor weights this out half the time. Later on he is given a water form due to the increase of water crimes. He is based off of a Dolphin. He has a pistol on land for fights and a harpoon for water based fights.
McCrane: Usually quiet, blunt, studious, and friendly. He tends to be with Seia half the time and enjoys her presents. He is water based and usually swims around with the other build team. fixing things broken. He is very charming to a lot of visitors and sometimes gets fanmail. He’s often seen fighting with his hands and a pole. He’s the oldest of the build team. He’s based off a clown fish.
Deckard: Paired up with Yuuta later on, he’s charming, friendly, sweet, intelligent, guideful, and fatherly. He is often the first appointed Water based unit. Deckard was the very first to be online and brought into the eye of the public first. Due to Yuuta interfering with one of the wonders that attempted to attack the delivering trucks. Deckard activated and save the young boy before the Wonder could harm him. This as well affected the units strength. While appearing very frail and weak, the unit is able to handle several thousand pounds. Deckard is the head leader of his group but is often looked to by the other units. Deckard is able to use his pistol on land and water, due to it being created just for him.
Drill Boy: the third youngest of all the units. He's not the smallest, but he is water bound. Often seen playing with the other younger units and by himself, he is noted for being a trickster and trouble maker. He is found of the older girls that visit and usually plays tricks for them. That is if he wants to. If he's on for a show he usually gives boring bland tricks. He's known to be childish, playful, sweet, annoying, and bubbly. He's built for building and is able to drill into the ground or surrounding area. He's based off a clownfish.
Shadowmaru and Kagaru: The two are twins, both similar in personality, though having their own differences. Such as Kaharu being more miscvious and trickster like. Shadowmaru is more serious and blunt. Shadowmaru is known to be the more serious of the two while Kagaru is known to be like a fox, trickster and miscvious. He doesn't tend to be as serious as Shadowmaru, though they both hold some serious fighting and weaponry. They take this seriously. Especially after Kagaru was almost reprogrammed by one of the other companies. Luckily he wasn’t but did cost his life. Though thanks to Papillion he survived. Shadowmaru and Kagaru are both able to be on land and water, as well as air. Their water forms are based on Octopus and their air forms are on two dragons.
dumpson: Ayako’s favorites units. Dumpson is slightly hot headed, joyful, iron-willed, and humble. He’s very strong, just slightly more then Deckard due to his framing, he’s able to lift a medium sized oil tanker if he wants though he must be careful due to his unit not wanting to pull or break anything. Especially under the water. He’s someone who will try and whoo others and sometimes without knowing, though he is very focused on his work, he’s part of the build team as well. He is very focused on what he needs to do and get done. Sometimes pushing himself to his limit. He’s based on a clown fish as well.
Power Joe: Another and the second oldest of the build team. He’s got an eye out for the art of fighting and karate, as well as art itself. He has an interest in art and fighting. He’s most often known for his ability for picking up all sorts of fighting ways and actions. He enjoys working along side his brothers, usually taking his time with certain parts, more so the oil areas. Not wanting any of it to leak out. He’s very charming, talkative, joking, mischivious, and lively. He has a crane built onto him as well, making him useful to builds that require high heights or carrying humans around. He’s based off a clowfish as well.
||———————————||
OTHERS
||———————————||
Soldato-J/Pizza + J-ark: He was from the Red Planet, but came with abel and Ikumi after it’s demise. He was made to protect the two but would end up in a coma after landing to earth. He would awaken after the evens of 192 and been seen watching over the ocean on nearby cliffs of the Three G labs and zoo. He is seen to not be a threat and protect those around there and fight Zonders. Though appears to be looking for someone of something.
Cain: Confirmed to be killed on his planet by his son Mamaoru after his link with Galeon (The lion). His form taken by a zonder he is often seen harming or killing those in Zonder attacks, though rarely has his form be seen fighting with itself while in attacks among humans. It can be noted he is not a high class threat due to how easy it is to deter this type to coming onto land. However, it can be noted this form of zonder- if able to make it onto land, can cause heavy damage. Though as long on water or in water, cannot.
Abel: while not Zonderfied she took to working along side after being fed lies by Palparepa and Pillus. She is naive and childish, very childish. Though her true form is a very tall woman. She is noted to be dosile and more of a nusisiouce.
Palparepa + Pillus: Both work hand in hand of causing as much damage and death. They have little care for other living beings and seem to enjoy in such activities. Papaprepa is able to take the form of a giant mecha and able to both fly, walk, and swim. Paparepa is seem often along side of Pillus who is seen as very unhinged. Palparepa is often spoted zonderfying other beings if given the chance by using his syring form of an arm while Pillus is seen leading most attacks upon humans and earth life. They often attempt to take over the units and damage them before zonderfing them. They both tend to watch and listen. They as well as known or atleast highly suspected for being the reason behind the zonderification of the Incident 192 and many more. Pillus can take the form of a large great white shark and Paplaperpa his mecha form.
Sakura Akamatsu: Soft toned, sweet heart, brave, studious, and clean. She is known for being found after one of the many attacks on the lab. Seeming to have washed upon the shore, though. The only recorded case of a natural Mermaid. She is known to get sick easily, bruised, or injured easlily. She is known for her bright blue eyes and soft cotton candy pink hair, as well as her soft spoken tone. She is usually held with the rest of the workers in their bunkers and has had custom made travel ways for herself around the area. She is able to travel into different channels of minds at random and able to connect to her very own unit, though this is risky and only done in Emegency cases or on her own will. She is seen often with the other units at times and speaks or plays with the other children best she can.
Hinoki Sai: Hired by the Three G before the events of 192. she was usually seen cleaning up messes and working on the garden. Though after the Zonder attacks of Accident 0029, she would end up with a mobile suit due to the abilities shown during the attack. She was as well moved to another part of Japan. Linking her up to work with the young Mikoto. She is confident at times but usually doubts herself and her intelligence. She is of high intelligence. She has a childhood friend named Keita though forgot of him during the first zonder attacks. However, once she meets him again when he is transferred to the current headquarters of the Three G. she is apathetic and tends to get a bad rep, and rumored to be rude. She has a good relationship with her friends; Mikoto, Swan, Keito (later), and once Papillion. She is commonly seen being in a Sullen manner.

For the character ask, Akiyama Shun
ohh man i was hoping someone would send akiyama... anon whoever you are, i love you ❤️
How I feel about this character bro i cant even begin to tell you. god. i fucking love this man. its really scary how hard i relate to him. probably my biggest comfort character rn. i cant tell if i would rather know him and like, be his best friend, or BE him. the gender envy alone has me insane. just thinking about him and things he might do has become a nice pass time for when im bored, especially while im at work.
All the people I ship romantically with this character as with most of the yakuza characters, i find myself enjoying a lot of the ships theyre involved in. ESPECIALLY poly ships. my brain is super focused on akiyama/kiryu rn tho; the pining, the devotion, willing to kill for the one you love... kiryu being totally oblivious, or pretending to be, until akiyama makes his feelings obvious... bro its so good... i also enjoy the ships w ryuji and shinada, and while i dont have many thoughts about tanimura, i think akitani is cute (mostly bc of ONE artist i follow on twt who makes a lot of good akitani art lmao). akiyama/majima just makes me laugh. make it kiryu/akiyama/majima/saejima all together tho and thats a perfect soup to me. i also really like akiyama/ryuji/kiryu inspired by ishin's storyline.
My non-romantic OTP/BrOTP for this character i NEED more content of him and haruka. the game literally sets him up to be another guardian figure for her. uncle akiyama... hes a total disaster about it but he cares about her so much and tries to do his best to protect her. i think it kind of extends from his devotion towards kiryu and protecting kiryu’s interests, but he also genuinely likes haruka and doesnt just think of her as this precious thing to protect the same way you might protect a valuable item or family heirloom. shes an actual person to him, whereas in some of the previous games, shes viewed by the other characters as just a device to manipulate kiryu. whether or not rgg studio wants to show us more of them i firmly believe they keep in contact. maybe even post y6 he helps out at morning glory 🥺 in terms of like. non-familial relationships though, i think akiyama and majima are fucking insane as buddies. just thinking about it makes me laugh. especially when you look at dead souls, akiyama tries so hard to seem cool next to the big scary yakuza men, and majima sees right through it and laughs at his face. i want more of them taking the piss out of each other, because i think once hes comfortable, akiyama could give just as well as he gets.
My unpopular opinion about this character not sure this is a hot take, because i think most people who put a smidge of thought into the series would agree, but i really hate it when people take these complex characters and boil them down to just a few simple character traits. while i get that thats one method to make it easier to write them in your own fic and stuff, i just find it kind of insulting. to the character and to the reader's intelligence. like okay sure, akiyama is shown to be lazy and impulsive and irresponsible, but thats not EVERYTHING about him. and theres nuance to those flaws that i think goes over some people's heads.
One thing I wish would happen / had happened with this character in canon. i wish he had been in yakuza: like a dragon. evidently hes really important to the main story of rggo, and since y7 is kind of a retelling of rggo, i wish they had included him. (im still gonna play rggo to see whats different and to see how akiyama is involved, i just wish it wasnt so hard to access for someone who doesnt speak japanese 😅)
send me a character !

Hey! You ever end up doing essay on the kazumaji gifs? (I'm highly interested because it's always majima o' clock where I live)
it’s always majima o’clock here too; maybe we live in the same area... but lmao i didnt write the essay on my kazumaji gifs because i didnt think anyone would want to hear it so i meant it more as a per request kind of deal. and you’re requesting. I want you to know you did this to yourself, my friend
below the read more for everyone’s well being. welcome to my first official majima analysis essay
ok so in those tags i said something like majima is softest with kiryu because it is absolutely the truth (unless you count makoto, which i love them too, but majima has moved on or at least is making an effort to. and that was pre-tacky snake skin jacket and pre-mad dog persona.)
the prompt for the gifset was “maybe something about majima being stupid and unhinged but like, in a sweet way” and the whole point of this rambling is that kiryu is really the only one we see who causes the mad-dog persona to slip. kiryu says he can never get a read on majima but just because he is unpredictable doesn’t mean he doesn’t understand that he isn’t just batshit crazy. he trusts majima, and finds comfort in his lack of predictability, keeping kiryu’s life exciting and providing distraction from the insane amount of tragic shit that happens to kiryu. and majima has a similar experience of idolizing the yakuza lifestyle as teens/young adults only to have the yakuza drag them through hell. But this is supposed to be about Majima.
ANYWAY what GETS ME is again that mad-dog vibe slipping around kiryu. the only time we really only see it again is with Saejima when he comes back from jail. i’m gonna talk about that later too. LET’s GET TO THE GIFS i’m going in chronological order not the order i put them in
1)
Tumblr media
Ok so as an audience, we don’t really know what happened between Kiryu and Majima between Yakuza Zero and Yakuza/Yakuza Kiwami. Yes, we get that tiny ending scene of Majima going KIRYU-CHAN for the first time and Kiryu smiling at him. But we are given nothing as to how they met or why Majima started calling him Kiryu-chan. It is left completely to the audience’s interpretation. Because then it goes straight to the first scene with Majima in Yakuza/Yakuza Kiwami after Kiryu gets out of jail. It implies that they already knew each other, and arguably that they were somewhat close -- close enough for Majima to “miss him.” (What was majima doing for those 10 years, i don’t know, but he clearly wasn’t in a great place, missing both kiryu, makoto, and saejima, we ignore y5 lore in this household or make up shit to fill in the giant gaps) You could argue that Majima missing Kiryu is just Majima being “crazy haha woah” but his character is so much deeper than that, and it’s proven in this gif’s scene. Yes he is fighting Kiryu with all his men. But if you are reading this you understand that them fighting physically all the time is a secret love language. They never intend to severely hurt each other. Fighting is how they know that they have an equal, someone else who was modeled into a weapon because of the Tojo Clan.
And yes, “He belongs to me!” is an extremely gay thing to say. He doesn’t even need to say that, though. One of his men didn’t understand that he doesn’t actually want to hurt Kiryu. The guy picked up Majima’s knife and tried to actually hurt Kiryu. Majima willingly gets stabbed so Kiryu doesn’t get hurt. That’s a handful of gay subtext right there. Majima’s first scene in y1 is about how the world is a horrible, shitty place that will chew you up and spit you out if you care. Then he goes and gets stabbed. Self-sacrificially. He cares about Kiryu, even if it hurts.
2)
Tumblr media
This one isn’t as deep. It stems of the same concept of them fighting each other as equals. Majima explicitly says more than once that strength is the most admirable trait, Goromi says that it only matters that a man is strong. Kiryu is the only person who presents a challenge to him. He admires him.
3)
Tumblr media
(As a disclaimer, I know a lot of people are uncomfortable with Goromi. I’ve also seen a lot of non-binary, gender-fluid, etc. people project on Goromi and Majima, and I feel like that can only be a good thing. Obviously they deserve more and more quality representation. I think the people who dislike Goromi are valid as well, but for the sake of this argument we are going to see Goromi as the people who project on her do and I’m going to use she/her pronouns when talking about Goromi.)
Regardless on your stance on this whole little side quest, the player has the choice to go along with Goromi which creates actually a lot of subtle connecting between the two of them. Even in just talking to her, we see the mad-dog mask slip. She talks about how much she cared about the girls at Club Shine and wonders how they’re doing. Literally says “all part of my tragic-ass backstory.” And Kiryu sympathizes with it. Says he sees through the “i hated it” bullshit and sees Majima/Goromi’s true self, which is that the cabaret job was hard for Majima because he cared about the women and didn’t like using them as a source of income and knew it would be his fault if they got hurt.
Also, Goromi says that "When I’m with a guy, it’s all about if I’m having enough fun. That’s why he’s gotta be strong.” Sound like someone we know? Someone who we are talking about in the last gif with i-just-got-the-shit-beat-out-of-me-and-it-was-awesome bliss on his face?
Anyway, the scene in the gif is near the end of the session. Kiryu is talking about how he’s been in prison for 10 years, and Goromi says that now that he’s out he should try to relax and and a little fun. Arguably, “since you’re so lonely right now, I’m gonna give ya a hand!” is most of Majima’s role in YK1. Kiryu gets out of prison. Majima wants to fight him all the time and says it’s because he’s gone soft and needs to train. Majima Everywhere presents excitement in his life when everything else is hard and shitty and traumatizing. Yes, Majima kidnapped Haruka. But there isn’t a lot of info on that. Majima says he did it so they could fight but it very likely could have been an order from the Tojo Clan or even Nishiki. Until he develops a bond with Haruka, Majima is, in a way, all he has. Nishiki is mean now. Yumi is ???. Kazama is i don’t even remember but he certainly isn’t any emotional support. He’s lonely. Majima is the only person he has from before prison, and quite possibly the only person who understands what he is going through.
4)
Tumblr media
YK2, Kiryu has yeeted out of Majima’s life as Kiryu does, but he’s trying to protect haruka so I’ll let it slide. And what does Majima do now that Kiryu’s not there? Leaves the Tojo Clan. Yes it’s because he doesn’t like the 5th chairman’s style and to make up for Kawamura, but the point is he’s bored. The use of “MY Kiryu-chan” is obviously written there because “haha majima he’s crazyyy” but come on. Majima left the Tojo Clan after Kiryu stepped down as the 4th chairman. Because he was bored. Because he couldn’t trust his own men. The only person he considered an equal just wasn’t there anymore and he found it difficult to adjust. (That’s YEARNING, fellas)
So yes, HIS Kiryu-chan came home, but what is home in this context? It clearly isn’t the tojo clan, so I guess it could be Kamurocho in general. But if the clan doesn’t make it home, what does make it home? Perhaps a certain triangle shaped man??
5)
Tumblr media
Oh boy silly Majima wants to fight Kiryu again hahaha weeeeeeeee NO listen, LISTEN, he does want to fight kiryu again, because 1) the man has been bored for a year 2) FIGHTING IS THEIR LOVE LANGUAGE 3) Majima is once again surprising Kiryu in a world where nothing surprises him anymore, where kiryu expects people to be vile and only want him for gain. Every single goddamn game it’s “Kiryu plz save the Tojo Clan plz” and Kiryu NEVER gets anything in return unless you count, i don’t know, Daigo and Haruka’s safety? But Majima doesn’t give a shit about any of that. Majima is one of the only people who consistently does things for Kiryu (even if they’re presented in an abnormal way). Majima is really the only one who makes sacrifices for Kiryu. But this fight, it kicks off YK2 of “hey, i missed you but i won’t admit it because we’re manly yakuza, please let me try to make you smile.”
6)
Tumblr media
THE kazumaji scene. Going off of Majima being the only one to make sacrifices for Kiryu, here’s a perfect example. Majima first aids the Tojo Clan which he swore to leave literally only because Kiryu asked him to. Then, here, he get beaten within an inch of his life because he promised Kiryu he would protect Kamurocho from Ryuji. Majima does not give a shit about the Tojo Clan at this point. Yes, Majima LOVEEESSSS beating people up, but he’s fatally wounded. This is not a Majima who would die for the Tojo Clan. This is a Majima willing to die for Kiryu. After warning Kiryu about being to trusting, too.
And of course, we get the Majima collapsing on the pavement and Kiryu rushing in to CRADLE him in his arms like a damn fanfic. You’ve even got the “I did it for you” which everyone knows is basically an “I love you.” Look at Majima’s face in the gif. Bless the Kiwami 2 graphics, first of all. He’s looking at Kiryu like he wants him to be the last thing he sees, like he wants him to know that he’s going out for Kiryu, that despite the fact that he’s about to cough up blood he needs Kiryu to have the information he needs to save the clan and Kamurocho. He’s telling Kiryu all this with labored breath because he promised. Kiryu “One-Expression” Kazuma is viably worried as hell, the little nod in the gif kills me because Kiryu needs him to know he’s touched and he’s so grateful. The only reason Kiryu left him was because there was danger elsewhere and he trusts Kaoru enough to take care of him. (Side note: I love Kaoru Sayama, but I still feel like she’s good enough a character on her own and doesn’t need to be a romantic interest for Kiryu. Like it was like oh... she’s Girl so she needs to fall for the Big Strong Male Protag.... If Majima was a cis girl they would have made out in this game, maybe even y1.)
7) Speaking of sacrifices, Yakuza 3, the game where Majima literally joined the Tojo Clan again because Kiryu wanted him to protect Daigo. That’s a huge lifestyle change, Majima.
Tumblr media
Yes, this scene is funny because Majima is riding in a Barbie-ass truck like a 15 year old driving on a learner’s permit in a downpour (yet proves he can drive stick seconds later) and thinks he hit Kiryu while he purposely hit everyone else. Look, Majima needs this ok y3 he looks like he’s been crying since kiryu left no one No One is going to hurt Kiryu now
That truck is likely stolen, he’s driving erratically as fast as he can because Kiryu is in danger, how did he even know that Kiryu was in danger is it like some kind of 6th sense... If you didn’t already know, I would take a bullet for Majima’s voice actor; his delivery of “Kiryu-chan! Where are you?!” could have just been like haha oops kiryu did i hit you ;3 but instead it’s this raw cry of genuine panic, like did his actions get kiryu hurt, Majima could not live with himself if he was the reason Kiryu got fatally hurt
8) Ok I’ve hinted at the fact that I have beef with the Hot Mess that is yakuza 5, wasn’t huge on Y4 and Y6 was fine but it was heavily based on the events of Y5. In my head I’ve got an entire fix-it fanfic in which Majima yeets out to Okinawa with Kiryu after Y3 I could write that upon request too ANYWAY here’s another sacrificial majima...
Tumblr media
Despite not caring for Y5, THIS SCENE is RAW. Maybe he’s not super “unhinged” in this scene but it’s just so much. Majima, who Kiryu brokedown in his taxi bc he thought he got killed (because Kiryu made him stay in the tojo clan haha we’re out here crying), chooses Kiryu over Saejima. Saejima, Majima’s oath brother, Saejima. We love Saejima, Majima loves Saejima, but 25 years is a long ass time. Majima changed. Saejima changed. For awhile he had Makoto, but then Kiryu was all Majima had for a good chunk of Saejima’s time in prison. This is the man Majima got his eye stabbed out for defending. But the BaD GuYs that arent memorable enough for me to even look up the names of are like look, we want to watch the world burn because we are Bad Guys, so either you are going to fight your brother to the death or we are going to snipe Kiryu’s daughter in the fucking head. Obviously he doesn’t know that Baba is going to betray them, so he has to pick between Saejima and Haruka. He chooses to potentially kill Saejima for Kiryu’s happiness. I’m sure if things didn’t change, Majima would have held back and let Saejima kill him. Majima would rather die than see Kiryu in pain. Majima would rather kill Saejima/let Saejima kill him than let Haruka die. If that’s not a giant declaration of unconditional love and devotion, I don’t know what else to tell you.
Anyway, thanks so much for indulging me and listening to my yakuza opinions if you made it this far you the mvp :’’’’)

nice to see someone as infatuated with baba as i am lol. especially since you treat him with a lot more nuance and understanding than most people i have seen, i have a distaste for people who take his timid facade at face value and characterize him as a crybaby when he is in fact far from being that innocent. i like Asshole Baba who is mean/rude and closed off but gets gut butterflies from this One (1) man. thank you for single handedly feeding All Baba Fans Ever
Thank you for this!
Also my bad for basically using it to go off on Babachat, I just like talking about Baba lol
I pretty much stay in my little corner here so I’m a little out of touch with the general fandom characterization. On one hand I can kinda see why people would take it at face value. I mean - the game is long as hell so it's easy to forget plot points, him being an assassin and being Kugihara’s boss is glossed over pretty quick, he’s “the kid” of the group (he’s 30), and even the guy he shot ends up living (can’t redeem him if he kills someone on screen after all). But IMO that take is kinda shallow and omits a lot of the things that make his character work.
My interpretation is that Baba’s done some real bad shit but he’s not a bad person deep down even if he doesn’t believe that himself and Saejima could tell. The piece of tripe that got really burned but Saejima et al. managed to pull it out of the fire before it became worthless, if you will.
Like, he’s polite to people’s faces but imagine what kinda guy Baba would have to be pre-Abashiri to get someone like Kugihara to defer to him. And even after Saejima’s fist-based therapy, he’s still following Kurosawa’s orders right up to the last minute. If people want to characterize him as innocent then it takes the punch out of him trying to talk Haruka out of doing the concert, even using Kiryu’s mental state to try and manipulate her out of it, and getting all quiet when she says she can tell he isn’t a bad person.
I know it’s a gacha game but RGGO has a character story attached to one of Baba’s cards that’s like a perfect little encapsulation of Baba’s character. There are some lines about how he’s always been doing this kind of thing (deceiving people), and how he got where he is by doing it. Guy clearly has self worth issues and thinks a lot about how he’s a piece of shit for tricking Saejima, but wants to be a good person when he meets someone who can’t tell a convincing lie he’s all, “GOD I wish I was you and I admire the SHIT out of you for that let me get my hands dirty instead.” But then even when he’s doing something to help someone, he’s doing it in the most manipulative way possible and doesn’t hesitate to throw down with some small-time yakuza family on his own.
This is a long-winded way of saying I think Baba being a bit of an asshole is really fun and makes it more poignant when he starts breaking down and Saejima wooing an asshole through personality alone is an illustration of what Kurosawa was mad about.

Alright, here’s my first attempt at writing something Yakuza related - inspired by a freakin nightmare I had, here’s MOB! It’s a multi-chapter plot oriented story based on an alternate ending for Yakuza 5 (so be careful, it will spoil that game).
Summary : Something happened after Haruka’s concert.
PART 1 - The Crowd
The crowd was completely silent as the girl spoke.
No one really knew how to react - how could they? This is not what they wanted to hear. They came here tonight (they paid an exorbitant price for a ticket, for the right to stand in a pit with hundreds of others) for one thing only. To hear a trio of teenagers sing about love, dreams, and all kinds of other nice things. Not to have one of said teenagers make a heartfelt but ultimately uncomfortable speech about…
About what, by the way?
The fact that she, Haruka Sawamura, was now standing on a stage, something most people would KILL for, and that it wasn't what she wanted? That the beautiful moment she had lived tonight just wasn't good enough for her. That she wanted to go back home. To her family.
When she started to explain what she meant by family is when she really started to ruin the mood, though.
It's not that the people in the crowd were cruel.
If you asked them "can a former yakuza turn over a new leaf and raise a kid", they'd probably say yes. If you asked them outside of an idol concert that was now pretty much ruined, that is. For some reason, hearing that girl talk about her love for her criminal of an adopted father didn’t sound as reasonable when she was standing on a stage and the crowd was standing beneath her, forced to listen. Forced to realize the perfect little picture they had in their mind, the cute upbeat innocent girl who came here to sing nice songs and thank them for their attention, never existed.
They felt cheated, somehow.
Still, they said nothing. There were a few whispers here and there, some questions asked a bit louder, but other than that, Haruka bowed down and left the stage in an unnerving silence. Her two co-stars eventually left too, and for a moment, the crowd was lost.
Was this it?
That was the moment people were starting to show the first signs of agitation. When the crowd started to feel less quiet. As the staff started to get them to leave, apologizing profusely, more and more people were starting to object. They paid to be here, to spend a nice wholesome moment, and all they got left with was this vague feeling of disappointment. Worse than that, they felt betrayed.
That girl practically told them, to their faces, than this dream, being an idol and having the incredible chance to perform at the Japan Dome, an once in a lifetime opportunity, wasn't good enough for her.
That's not how it was supposed to go.
The crowd was lost.
Eventually, they had to move. Hundreds and hundreds of angry, upset people walking into each other to get out of here. A human wave, grumbling and complaining about how short and ultimately upsetting that whole experience had been.
But they were reasonable, well adjusted citizens, after all. They would leave without making a fuss. Go back home, make some angry social media messages about the concert and move on.
That would have been nice. Reasonable.
Instead of that, the crowd ran into a fleeing girl who, like them, was trying to get out of here.
There was an awful moment when they stared at each other. The idol and her fans. The girl who rejected them and the angry people who felt as if they had been personally betrayed by someone they loved. Someone they swore they knew.
It wasn't clear who started it.
Who threw the first punch.
Who pushed who.
Who first started to run.
When the crowd of reasonable, civilized music enthusiasts became a mob.
When instead of cutesy pop tunes, the air was now filled with the screams of people being caught in the stampede.
No matter how it happened, in an instant, chaos had erupted. The mob was a loud angry wave now, crashing into itself, stomping mercilessly on the poor souls who had the misfortune to fall.
When asked about it, later, well after the dust had settled, people who had been part of the mob will say they don't know what happened. They'll say they were scared - and they were. The threat of being crushed by other people in the absolute chaos of it all had been terrifying. They'll say they were sad that it happened. That the girl didn't deserve that.
They'll never admit they felt a self righteous anger that almost turned them into monsters.
After all, they were well-adjusted, normal people.
******************
Kiryu was not smart.
A smart man wouldn't have run to fight some asshole all on his own after being shot and punched a bunch of times, only to collapse in the snow like a moron trying to get back to home. Hell, a smart man wouldn't have joined the yakuza at 16 just to run after the respect and love of the man he wanted to call father. And, of course, a smart man wouldn't have been convinced to abandon his family so that his child could become a pop star.
While he wasn't smart, Kiryu had a good instinct. He knew when something was up, deep in his gut. So when he woke up in a hospital bed, his whole body screaming as the pain woke up with him, he knew. Something was wrong.
Not because of the pain. That, he expected. He had no idea how long he had been out, but it hadn't been long enough to heal, that much was certain. Every muscle in his body felt sore, and the burning ache where he had been shot was still there. If Kiryu had to guess, he'd say he wasn't unconscious for more than four days. Not that he cared about that right now. What he wanted to know was why he woke up with this feeling of dread. With an alarm blaring in his head, warning him that something was wrong. It might have had something to do with the friendly yet incredibly worried faces in front of him.
Saejima, standing with his arms crossed near the room's door, and Akiyama, sitting on a chair near the end of his bed, were both staring back at him, stuck in an uncharacteristic silence. It was especially jarring for Akiyama, who had opened his mouth when Kiryu had turned his head in his direction, closing it just as quickly, as if he didn't know what to say.
Kiryu frowned.
Then all the things that were wrong with this scene struck him at once.
The way Saejima was standing, stiff and tense, completely still even as their eyes met.
The small "fuck" that finally escaped Akiyama's mouth, and the way he immediately stared at the door, as if he was hoping for some needed interruption.
The wrinkled clothes, still covered in blood in places, that both men were wearing and the heavy bags under their eyes, as if they had been up for days.
The fact that they were the only two people in that room, when Kiryu remembered separating from three companions on that fateful night.
The blurry memory of a man making the promise he'd protect his daughter. A man who was not here today.
The horrible realization that Haruka was not here, either.
And, finally, the fact that the heavy, oppressive silence was still here as his brain painfully connected the dots.
"What happened?"
All things considered, his voice didn't sound as weak and shaky as he would have expected. It wasn't his usual voice, though, it was tainted by the panic that was now compressing his chest, making it sound way less threatening than usual. Maybe it was weak and shaky, after all.
He was met with more silence, and it both scared and angered him.
"Shit, he woke up?"
Majima's head poking through the open door startled him.
Not that being startled by Majima was anything special. The man had found many ways to surprise him through the years, and hearing his shrill voice was usually enough to make Kiryu brace himself for whatever was coming for him. He was less of a wildcard these days, sure, but Kiryu had learned it never hurt to be on his guard anyway.
Still, Majima's sudden appearance in the room wasn't what made him suddenly straighten up in his bed, ignoring his body's complaints. No, it was the way his expression shifted as their eyes met. That weird horrified look, one he never saw in that lone eye, as Majima dragged himself inside the room, closing the door behind him - now THAT was startling.
"What the FUCK happened?"
Alright, so his voice was definitely shaking. It wasn't weak anymore though, he had pretty much roared that question, trying to get up despite the pain being hard to ignore by now. He was a mess. He didn't care, he needed some kind of answer. Akiyama’s hand was on his shoulder, he wasn't sure when that happened. When he spoke, the man's voice sounded lower than usual, and that hushed tone did nothing to calm him down.
"We can talk later, that's the first time in eight days you've been truly awake, maybe you should take it slow."
Eight days, huh. Not the four days he imagined earlier, but still not his worst. It didn't tell him what happened while he was out to make everyone stare at him like that. Kiryu had been awake for what felt like minutes and no one had done anything to give him an answer. Which only made the alarm in his head blare louder.
He strained his neck to look at Saejima across the room, still motionless:
"Saejima, please."
Kiryu wasn't sure why he was singling him out. And if the way the man raised his eyebrows was any indication, Saejima was surprised to hear him call for him, too. Maybe it was because both Akiyama and Majima were already starting to tell him to calm down and consider going back to sleep, the former mumbling something about fetching a doctor. Maybe it was because he had the feeling Saejima wouldn't lie to him.
Eventually, the tall yakuza made a few steps to stand near the end of the bed, his expression unreadable as he started:
"Our plan mostly worked, but-"
"Where is Haruka?"
Kiryu thought he could let him talk - he wanted too, even, but the second he had started explaining, he had to interrupt. He had to know. Saejima looked at the others for what felt like an eternity, and finally-
"She's alive."
No one in the history of the world had ever said "she is alive" to talk about someone who was safe and sound. He couldn't have picked a more worrying wording if he had tried. Kiryu focused on the man in front of him, ignoring once more his exhausted body begging for him to at least lay down again.
When Saejima started talking again, he didn't dare interrupt this time, horror taking over with each words:
"The concert, uh, it happened. Shinada got the shooter, and we took care of shit at the Millenium Tower too."
Kiryu couldn't care less about the events at the Millenium Tower. If he had to guess, he'd say Majima and Saejima had to fight, maybe even fight each other, as they were sporting a variety of bruises. All he wanted was to know what went down at the Japan Dome.
"At the end of that one song, Haruka, she…" Saejima took a deep breath, and Kiryu swore his heart had stopped. " She made a speech. ‘bout ya. Said she wanted to go back home and stop the whole singing thing."
Uh.
That wasn’t really what Kiryu had expected. Months ago, he would have been overjoyed to hear those words. Days ago, even. But right now ? All he could hear was the voice in his head yelling that it wasn’t right, that something terrible had happened. He managed to mouth a small "...and ?", urging the other to continue.
At this point, Saejima looked as if each word was costing him a lot. Kiryu would have felt sorry for him if he wasn’t on the verge of having a bloody heart attack. Majima must have felt his brother’s distress, because he eventually took a step to get closer to the bed :
"The concert got to an end, people were pretty pissed about it, and Haruka, she just ran away. Tried to come get ya."
"It’s my fault." Akiyama blurted, looking more serious than Kiryu had ever seen him. " I’m the one who called her. To tell her you left for HQ and that we didn’t know what happened there. I’m so fucking sorry."
Asking "sorry for what" was on Kiryu’s mind, but somehow he didn’t manage to form those words – there was a heavy lump in his throat by now, and he felt so tired that he was afraid he was going to faint before those fuckers finally spit out the truth.
It eventually came, from Majima, his voice horribly serious for once, deeper and full of pity, which Kiryu realized was awfully scary to hear :
"When she got out, she ran into some folks from the audience, and a fight broke out."
"It was more like a stampede than a fight," Saejima added, contempt in his voice. "Those stupid motherfuckers just started running and they crushed everything in their way."
Kiryu was finding it harder and harder to focus on what was being said. Or to picture what happened. Or to just stay awake at all. He knew his body enough to know that he was about to drop and sleep for a couple more days, and he knew that he couldn’t. Not before he knew-
"Four dead and too many wounded to count."
He blinked. He wasn’t even sure who had said that. Akiyama, maybe. Kiryu somehow didn’t register a voice, just a number. And the word "dead" ringing in his ears. Saejima said she was alive, he told himself. She is alive. Four poor fuckers were dead, but she was alive. She had to be.
"Haruka ?" He asked, his own voice sounding like it came from far, far away. He was really starting to lose it, he was out of time-
"The mob got to her before any staff member could react, she was already outside and there was too many fucking people…" This time he was certain it was Akiyama’s talking. Probably. The scene was getting pretty blurry, by now. Words had mostly stopped making sense, but he still listened. "By the time they got her out of here she… She had been through a lot."
"She’s in a coma right now. Doctors said her vitals are good, she has a good shot at waking up"
The word "coma" still made sense.
In fact, it made so much sense that it made all the blurry noise surrounding his senses disappear, leaving him with nothing but dread.
Dread and stupid, impulsive anger, of course.
He got up.
Well, he tried to.
He almost managed to put one foot on the ground before Saejima shoved him back in the bed, humiliatingly easily. "Don’t fucking do that. I know it ain’t easy but you need to calm down."
"I need to see her."
"We’ll go once you’re strong enough." Akiyama said, his hand uselessly pressed on his shoulder, as if Saejima needed any help to keep him pinned on the bed. "Date is with her right now, so she isn’t alone. It’s probably better if we wait a bit, she’s… It’s a lot to take in."
You don’t fucking say, he wanted to shout.
"This isn’t how it was supposed to go..." Kiryu heard himself say, his voice breaking slightly, before a new spike of anger made it get louder. " Where the fuck was Shinada while all that shit was going on ? He said he’d protect her !"
"Well, when it started getting bad he did try to find a way through the crowd, but…" Saejima shook his head, looking more tired than ever. "It was an angry crowd, Kiryu, I’m sure he did his best, but it was too much. No one could have done anything."
Kiryu is vaguely aware that he kept talking after that. That he said Shinada was still alive after being pretty much crushed by the stampede, and that he was in a room somewhere in the hospital.
He didn’t care, though.
No one could have done anything.
The last thing Kiryu thought of as he passed out was that HE could have done something.
No angry crowd could have stopped him. He was certain of it.
He could have prevented this.
He should have.

Coffee Shop Daydreams Chapter 1
It was around ten in the morning at Tokyo University, and Makoto Makimura was already feeling frustrated. She was looking over various notes she had compiled throughout the last couple of weeks and felt like tearing each of them to shreds. Most of the time she loved her courses, she was majoring in exercise science hoping to become a physical therapist. There were  a few classes taken in the last two years of college that made her feel the temptation to drop out, and this was one of them. It was a gen-ed health science course, but the professor was an absolute jerk which ruined everything about the class.
As a result, it felt like she was teaching herself all the concepts.
Her thoughts were interrupted by the sound of footsteps coming towards her table. She was in one of her favorite spots in the library, secluded in a corner hidden away by various bookshelves. Not many people came to this area, so she knew who to expect. She looked up at the man’s face and greeted him with a large smile, shuffling her papers away so he’d have room to sit.
The only saving grace of this class was that she was able to study with one of her closest friends in university, Taiga Saejima. Saejima was three years her senior, though many thought he looked older. He was a large muscular man with a stern face framed by his shoulder-length hair, which made it really easy to be intimidated by him.
They met in another gen-ed course her first year of college. They were paired together for a project, and though she was a little nervous to speak to him the determination to prove herself outweighed everything else. Looking back, Makoto realized that she probably was a stuttering mess. Especially since her Japanese was still fresh, she constantly messed up terms. But, Saejima never got frustrated with her struggles.
Presently, her Japanese has improved and her friendship with Saejima was strong. Many peers were shocked that she was friends with him. Makoto’s friend Joy once told her that she has a habit of attracting rather intimidating guys. Though, despite his imposing exterior, he was actually a very soft person. He was always very kind towards her but was also not afraid to call her out when she needed to be.
“How are you Saejima-kun?” she greeted.
“Not good,” Saejima said, “I fucking hate this class.”
Makoto giggled at the bluntness, agreeing with the sentiment.
“I don’t even know why I need this,” Saejima continued, “I don’t even plan on teaching kids’ science.”
“What did you want to teach again?” Makoto asked as she jotted down more notes.
“History.”
“Sciences are a big part of history,” Makoto reasoned, “you can always go more in-depth if you know some of the concepts.”
“Fuck that,” Saejima replied, “if they want to know the details, they better be paying attention in their other classes.”
Makoto shook her head, giving a joking ‘tsk tsk.’ Even with Saejima’s blunt language, she knew he had a soft spot for kids. If they had inquiries, she knew he’d do his best to answer them. The way he talked about his younger sister proved that enough.
She really enjoyed studying with Saejima. He was smart though it took him more work to understand the concepts. Makoto was quick to understand most science concepts, but she had to put in extra effort in everything else. They were able to help each other make up for their weaknesses. These tutoring sessions were helpful for Saejima to practice his teaching, and it helped Makoto learn how to teach better. She wasn’t confident with her abilities, even when she knew what she was talking about. This resulted in a lot of criticism from Saejima varying from ‘suck it up,’ to ‘speak up’ and some other choice words. It occurred more frequently early on in their friendship. The comments were a little jarring at first, she wasn’t used to people being so blunt with her, but Makoto learned to appreciate the straightforwardness. It was a welcome change from the way people usually treated her. Always either keeping her at a distance or looking at her with obvious disdain.
The way her classes were scheduled allowed her to get back to Kamurocho around 4 pm. If she was able to get a seat, she’d be able to complete any last-minute class readings. Ideally, she tried to get all her work done while she was on campus, but things happen and sometimes she needs to put in more work while she’s home.
Café Alps was one of her favorite places to spend her time. The ambience was nice, and the service was fantastic. It was her favorite place to go after classes and would alternate between ordering tea and coffee. Sometimes she wouldn’t order anything at all, her time would be spent getting ahead on work or just reading.
Other times she’d people watch. Like in the library, her favorite seat in the café was placed in the corner, the perfect place for a view of the café. She didn’t watch anyone specific, but she loved looking at what people were wearing, and sometimes she couldn’t help but eavesdrop on conversations. She tried not to, but sometimes the conversations just pulled her in.
Though, she may have lied when she mentioned that she didn’t watch anyone specific. There was one man that really grabbed her interest. She was certain he grabbed everyone’s interest. He was also a regular at the café, tall and lean, with a loud personality. He had a high-pitched laugh, but his tone seemed to change drastically depending on who he was talking too. Like his personality, his outfits were equally as loud. Most of the time he wore a snakeskin jacket without a shirt on underneath, his tattoos peeking out from his shoulders, though sometimes he would change into other loud patterned shirts. Though, it was obvious that he favored the snakeskin jacket.
She didn’t mind the tacky pattern since if she was being honest with herself, he had a very nice figure. He was slim but muscular, his wide grin splitting the harsh angles of his face whenever he’d hear something particularly funny. If she looked closely, she could see the glint of his eye which seemed to have a mischievous look in it. The left eye was covered with an eyepatch, which she wondered if it was for aesthetics or not. He was very expressive in every single aspect of himself.
He commanded her attention whenever he entered the room, and she only prayed that he didn’t notice her peeking over whatever she was distracting herself with.
‘Was this a crush?’ she wondered to herself. She supposed that it was, but at the same time, she felt like it was just all in good fun. Even if it was a ‘crush’ there was a no way she’d ever talk to the guy. Maybe Joy was right, maybe she was attracted to intimidating men. Because she was sure to most people this man was a little frightening, but she couldn’t help but be curious.
But compared to him, she was so boring. She felt horribly plain.
One day she couldn’t help but listen in on a conversation he was having, with another man. They were sitting across from her so she could get a good glance at his face. He was loud, ranting about how people don’t separate their trash and that they’re the reason our environment is the way it was today. She had to hold back a laugh because it was incredibly endearing that this man was ranting about climate change and personal responsibility.
‘Smart and handsome,’ she thought to herself. Her eyes moved up from her book, wanting to get another glimpse at his face. His eye was focused on the man in front of him, engrossed in whatever conversation they were having. Makoto noticed how his hair, which was cut right above his ears, was starting to fall into his face.
She switched back to looking at his face when she met his eye.
He definitely looked directly at her, and it took all her self-control to not flinch. She glared down at her book trying to control her heart rate and the blood rushing to her face. Subtly, she tried to lower her face and raise the book a little higher. The words were not registering in her brain and she just felt so embarrassed that he saw her staring. She cursed at herself for not being careful, now she looked like a nosey woman.
Okay. Maybe this was a little bit of a crush. Just a little.
Ten in the morning, Makoto was at the library, again. Same location, same clutter of papers surrounding her. Saejima was right across from her, papers also surrounding him, but they were in more cohesive stacks. Makoto held some flashcards close to her face, trying to commit each definition to her memory.
“Does holding those cards so damn close help at all?” Saejima questioned.
Makoto let out a little laugh. She knew Saejima was bound to start getting snappy. Besides being surrounded by papers he was also surrounded by broken pencils that failed under his pressure.
“Maybe you should try it,” Makoto said, “I could tape them to you if you want?”
Saejima scoffed, not in the mood to joke around.
“At this point I’d rather you tape a bomb to me.”
She felt like they had been in the library for forever. They’ve spent the past week studying and she was starting to feel the burnout. Makoto was about to say something until Saejima beat her to it.
“I wanna get the fuck out of here,” he said.
“I do too, but we really gotta get these definitions down,” she sighed, “that was our only goal for the day.”
“How about we go somewhere else then,” he grumbled.
Makoto immediately agreed. A new spot would be refreshing. Saejima and her both lived in Kamurocho, so she suggested they go to Café Alps.
“Isn’t that the place the guy you’re stalking goes to?” Saejima asked.
“Huhhh,” she replied, “I’m not stalking him, I forgot I even told you about that.”
“Sure.” Saejima said, obviously not believing her.
“If I was stalking him, I’d follow him out of the coffee shop, but I’m not.” She was trying her best to not sound defensive; she was also already thinking about how he caught her staring a couple days ago.
Saejima shushed her and told her to get her stuff ready so they could leave. She huffed, frustrated by her friends teasing, trying to get her mind off of the guy at the café.
The day must have had different plans for her though.
She was twisting her pencil between her fingers trying to focus on the different passages, while Saejima was studying her flash cards. The change of environment was nice and the commute to Kamurocho gave them a much-needed break. Overall, she was able to focus relatively well.
Until a boisterous voice snapped her from her book. Eyepatch man came in once again, along with another young man in a white pinstripe suit. She assumed the guy in the suit was the same person he was conversing with about climate change a couple days ago. His face was more stoic than the eyepatch man, if anything he seemed to be slightly annoyed at how close he was getting.
It was amusing. She giggled and elbowed Saejima in the ribs. He glared at her, but she interrupted him before he could say anything.
“That’s the guy,” she whispered, pointing to the guy with the eyepatch. She noticed Saejima’s eyes widen, then a small smirk graced his lips. Then he started to chuckle, and it seemed like it was bound to evolve into full blown laughter.
Makoto was not expecting this reaction at all.
“Look, I get he’s a little weird looking, but you don’t need to laugh at me,” she whispered harshly.
“I just, can’t believe,” he said in between chuckles, “of all people you take interest in.”
“Geez,” she said, “I shouldn’t have told you anything.”
She appreciated that he was keeping his laughing to a reasonable volume, though it still annoyed her. Her face was already getting redder. Once he stopped, he gave her a look she didn’t recognize. It looked as if he was plotting something, and Makoto didn’t like it.
“Why are you looking at me like that,” she huffed.
“You’ll thank me later,” he responded, then he turned towards the guy with the eyepatch and yelled.
“Oi! Majima!”
The guy with the eyepatch, Majima, turned towards them. His eyes met Saejima’s and his mouth split into a wide grin. He gave a wave and started to walk towards them. Makoto felt like she might pass out, not expecting this turn of events at all.
“What the hell,” she whispered to Saejima.

kiryu & saejima have better bodies/natural.. attractiveness tho (saejima is on thin fucking ice) 😳
Character I would marry:
Kiryu ;_____;
Character I would be best friends with:
haruka ! or hana or makoto, i like all the girls a lot
A random thought:
i miss tanimura ):
also maybe im just autistic but these games have meant so much to me and like. i am writing again and emoting again you taught me what love is rgg0 sorry rgg0 is my fav and i wont ever ever shut up about it
An unpopular opinion:
sagawa is not sexy tachibana and oda is shitty and unhealthy majima is a homo and so is kiryu people need to stop headcanoning majima as nonbinary purely bc of [redacted] nishitani was not that interesting or cool kiryu is actually really interesting just bc he doesnt act out or do bad things doesnt make him a boring character I swear I swear there is so much to him hes like the best character and the perfect man
My Canon OTP:
does akiyama × hana count
Non-canon OTP:
k..kiryu and majima T.T
Most badass character:
kiryu purely for his morals
Pairing I am not a fan of:
Sa🤢🤢 saga🤢🤢 🤢sagama🤢🤢 i cant even say it 🤮🤮🤮
also vomit worthy: nishiki×kiryu, yumi×kiryu/nishiki, sayama×kiryu
Character I feel the writers screwed up (in one way or another):
oh me and you complain so much but my mind is blank but uhh nishiki + saejima + yasuko for having like depth but was pushed aside for shitty romance reasons and also lack of addressing certain issues/traits that i thought really made them shine in place of like. focusing on other things if that makes sense
oda + mine for attempted sympathy points
Favourite friendship:
nishiki/kiryu, kiryu/yuya, kiryu/fighter, makoto/majima, kiryu/tachibana, lee/majima/makoto, majima/club sunshine every relationship makes me emo
Nishiki
How I feel about this character:
my star my love my darling man you are loved you are loved you are loved i swear if i think about nishiki too long i start crying i love him so so so much i am tearing up just thinking about him
All the people I ship romantically with this character:
😶 i will sound crazy if i pull out crack ships so. but nishiki is bisexual and maybe prefers girls that is all
My non-romantic OTP for this character:
Kiryu !!!!!!!!
My unpopular opinion about this character:
not really about him but putting the blame of k1 on nishiki unreciprocated love from yumi is dumb they should have looked at kazama unreciprocated (familiar) love instead or literally anything else even like focusing on losing yuko or just being. fucking alone and being fucked over by literally everyone why does everyone say like "uhhh its bc they both loved yumi" shut up, also people infantalize nishiki really weirdly but hes asian so., also nishiki×kiryu is gross and only freaks like it
One thing I wish would happen / had happened with this character in canon:
Nishiki living and getting redemption, nishiki addressing his shitty dad/kazama actually interacting with nishiki for once in his life, nishiki hugging kiryu, theres so much emotion to nishiki and again i just feel like it was brushed over hes like the only antagonist who gives me feelings and garners any sympathy from me hes a really good character and i just wish he was given more of a chance and that the importance + depth of his relationship with kiryu was addressed more following k1
My OTP:
i dont. really have one
My OT3:
(nonromantic) yumi/kiryu/nishiki
Majima !
How I feel about this character:
:smirk: i have so much to say about him and he means so much to me and i love him with all my heart and i think hes so wonderfully complex i love it it gives me so much to write out + think about and i love mask symbolism and i just *weeps* i want him to be happy and i want him to be fulfilled and i want him to be comfortable and i want him to let himself be surrounded by people who cherish him
All the people I ship romantically with this character:
Kiryu. my mind is blank
My non-romantic OTP for this character:
Makoto / cabaret girls / nishida / ig saejima on a technicality
My unpopular opinion about this character:
stop calling him feral stop being weird about his gender i want to draw majima in dresses and project things but everyone here has ruined that i hate you all also hes not just completely bonkers crazy and hes also not like completely hiding everything/this is ALL an act sad like there is nuance and complexity hes not like either one side of a coin or the other im sorry im so nitpicky but some of you are so weird and im saying this as someone who is edgy and emo, also hes gay and trans and maybe does not have top surgery i have lots of opinions on him but that would take up so much space rgg fandom freaks wants what i have
One thing I wish would happen / had happened with this character in canon:
More time addressing his relation with Yasuko, i wish we saw more of the impact sotenbori had on him outside of makoto like i understand shes really important but there was so much that happened there and i feel it was a little skipped out on, let me punch sagawa, ik so much of his character is inferred and has to be read into to get like the actual truth which i love but addressing his obsession with kiryu/his need for power/control/how much he lies and hides things im sorry I'm obsessed with character analysis nvm i can do it myself, address his eyepatch/missing an eye more the same way they address makoto being blind or saki being mute or even tachibana missing an arm i understand he's like badass unstoppable whatever whatever but it feels lame sometimes and it could have been like. more
My OTP:
😔 kiryu.
My OT3:
Tachibana × Kiryu × Majima bc you gave me homo brain worms
(nonromatic) lee/makoto/majima

Magic ways (Taiga Saejima x reader)
Tumblr media
Chapter 1 : A kind gesture
With the help of your friend moving back into your “new” apartment, y’all went out to celebrate. Resting at your favorite izakaya. Luckily it’s not crowded at this time of night. While talking about old times with your friends, you can’t help but notice the lone patron at the end of the bar.
Y/f: your friends name
Warning: knives, cursing, and sexual harassment
Intro / Next
UPDATE:spellcheck, saejima not giving out his name, reader doesn't know the relation between saejima and majima, third person pov, adding and removing things
“That should be the last of it.” y/f huffed. Exhausted from walking up and down the stairs all morning. Carefully placing the brown box next to the others that covered the floor of the tiny apartment. For being a small apartment, it has enough room for a bedroom and a tiny kitchen. Sure, it needs a little bit of TLC here and there. But it’s good enough against Champion District standards. Good enough for y/n, since she moved back from her home country. ”Five years.” she thought while putting away the dishes in the cupboard. Five years since she left Kamurocho. Five years of running away from her problems. Y/n would’ve stayed longer if she confront it head-on. Just the mere thought of it leave a bitter taste in her mouth. Shaking away the anxiety that crawled against her skin. Clouded her every thought. Beginning to suffocate. ”Deep breaths, y/n. Deep breaths.” Calming down before moving on to the next box. While away, she made it her personal goal to start over. A fresh start. Learning from her mistakes and grow from them.
Y/f and y/n spend half of the evening unpacking and organizing. Tossing the remaining pile of collapse boxes to the side.
”Thank you for coming all this way and helping me move.” turning towards her friend.
She really meant that. Without their help, y/n would still struggle on finding a place to live. They’ve been by your side every step of the way. Encourage y/n during your process of”rebirth”.
”No problem. Consider this as a housewarming gift.” giving y/n an over exaggerated curtsy.
Softly punch y/f arm while walking back to her room. ” I hope you have something cute to wear because we’re celebrating.”
”You know I always come prepared.” y/f smirked
.
Club after club. Drinks after drinks. Y/f and y/n staggered through the neon lights of Kamurocho. Their laughter and the clacking of their heels blended within the bustling street. Walking through memory lane in their wavy state. Hoping to find the closest restaurant to soak up their alcohol. Resting under the nearest conbini.
” I’m going inside, need anything?” y/f placing their hand on y/n shoulder.
Looking up at the night sky, lost in her own thought” No, I’m good.” y/n hummed.
Y/f nods and walks inside with the chime from the door following behind them. Y/m smile as she continuing looking up at the beautiful night sky. The cool night breeze brush against her face. Even though she just came back to Kamurocho, she feel like everything going back to place. It’s not much but it’s a head start to reclaiming things that she once loved. Having her best friend by her side helped replace old memories with new ones. This could be a beautiful start of a long journey. Her deep thought was invaded by the chime of the door and voice of her friend. Looking back to see them with a bag in hand.
”what you get?”
”Oh, nothing. Just some water.” pulling the contents out of the bag.”At least it could help us sober up a little bit.”
she nod in agreement. Looking back at the neon night sky. Until y/n gasp loudly.”I know the perfect Izakaya that we should stop at!” turning back to y/f in excitement.”It’s not that far from here, I promise.” gleefully taking y/f hand. Dragging them along. Through twist and turns to streets to alleyways, all she could think about is praying that it’s still there.
They stopped in front of a small, hidden, traditional izakaya. A small row of red paper lanterns dangled from the ceiling. Cascading the white curtains with red hues. Y/f looks at y/n confused. Seeing the anticipation in her eyes. ”It still looks the same.” she thought.
”So…this the place?” with a concerned look on her face.
”Yup!!”y/n said cheerfully.
Both looking at each other. Filling the space with awkward silence.
”what!?”
”Nothing. Nothing.” y/f lifting their hands up in defense. ”I just didn’t think it would look like….this…”
Rolling her eyes. ”Come on. It’s fine. Trust me.” before dragging y/f inside.
The savory aroma and the heat of the building washes over y/n. Y/n could swear that she can feel her mouth watering. One of the many things she missed while away from Kamurocho. Its large interior makes up for its small exterior. With the traditional decoration paired with the homey atmosphere, made y/n fall in love with it. Something that she can’t really put her finger on but still adore. Luckily, it’s not crowded at this time of night. Mostly old men, salaryman, or curious people that explore the allies would know about this place. Tonight, only a somber, built man at the bar and an unfamiliar cook. They walked at the far end of the bar.The young female cook walks over to the group.
”what can I get ya.”
Looking at the menu above her. ”I want the tempura udon and sh-” y/f was suddenly cut off by her friend.
”yakisoba!” (Y/F) chirped
” and she gets the yakisoba.” she chuckle.
With a nod, she started cooking. Y/f and y/n started small talk to pass the time. Commenting on how y/f almost got a date but the free drinks was totally worth it. As y/f retells her experience with the”hookup”, y/n went back to absorbing her surroundings. She can’t help but notice the man at the other end of the bar. His bear-like statue. His long black hair that used a veil to hide his melancholy expression. She can’t help but be enticed by him. Only to get cut by the sound of bowls clack against the countertop. Thanking the cook. Y/f already has their first bite. Moaning of enjoyment on how good the food taste.
Shaking her head.” Told you it was good.” she smirked. All y/n got from them was y/f furiously nodding their head in agreement and back to eating.” I wonder...” she thought.
”Excuse me, Miss.” raising your hand to catch her attention. She peeked over her shoulder to look at y/n. ”Does Hisao still work here?” she asked. Hoping she got the answer y/n was looking for.
”Hisao...” the young girl hummed. Before she could answer, a bearded man with a blue bandanna wrapped around his head peaked out from the main kitchen. Search for who called his name. Seeing y/n face cause him to race around the counter.
”y/n-san!!” swooping Y/n in for a bear hug.He apologizes after letting her go. Introducing himself. He explained how they met years ago. Joking how y/n only know a smidget of Japanese when they first met. Not enough to save her own life.
”But you helped me out though!” she yelled in protest.
Crossing his arms,” I did. I did. How about this.” Searching through the cabinet to find the perfect alcohol for this occasion. Pulling out his best bottle of sake. Setting the glass cups on the bar.
“ A round of drinks to celebrate?” Gesturing his cup towards y/n.
Y/n smiled. Taking the cup from Hisao hands. “Why not!”
“Hey Namiko, you joining in?” Hisao asked while pouring sake in each cup. Namiko declines while attending for the lone patron.
Raising his glass,” To y/n!!” The group raises their glass in return.
”Kanpai!!” they cheered. Clanking their cups together. Causing y/n to spilled her drink a litlle bit.
Even though y/n try to focus on Hisao story, she can’t help but take small glances at the somber man. The more she look, the deeper her heart sank.
” I hope he’s okay.” she thought.
”Hey, I’m going to go to the restroom.”y/f slurred. Y/f been hammering drinks back to back. From the previous drinks from the club to now.
”Okay. We’re heading back home when you come out.” swirling her cup.
Watching y/f staggered into the bathroom. With one last look at the lone patron, y/n called Hisao over. Whispering in his ear while taking quick looks at the other end of the bar. Grinning ear to ear, Hisao nod at y/n and rush back into the kitchen.
“How long will it takes before I get caught? What I’m gonna do now? I can’t just lay low forever. They gonna find me eventually.” Been away for so long, how can he adjust to normal society. Everything that he learn from the outside life have been tarnished and transformed into the prison way of life. So many troublesome thoughts swirled around inside his mind. Making him fall deeper into the void. Hearing the phantom screams and gunshot in his head. For 25 years, it never went. No matter how hard he tries. It turned into an invisible tattoo on his soul just like the tiger on his back. Only he can really see it. His only way to numb the pain by soaking in cheap liquor. There was a light at the end of his mental tunnel.
The smell and the warmth of the chicken cutlet curry caress his face beneath him. Looking up confused. Wondering who bought this for him. He clearly remembers he didn’t order it or maybe his memory was so jaded enough to forget. Looking at the other end of the bar, a young lady catches his eye. She smiles and raised her glass towards him before looking back to her friend camimg out of the restroom. He nods before turns back to his meal. Taking his first bite.
” It’s a start.”
”Looks like I’m calling it a night.” passing her bowl and cup back Hisao. ” it’s nice to catch up again.” rummaging through her purse to find her wallet.
”Tell me about it.” he said with his arms crossed. Paired with his signature charismatic smile.
Pulling out her wallet to pay her tab. He waves y/n off. ”Don’t worry about it. It on the house.”
”you sure? I should pay,at least.” Being very persistent. It was always an ongoing battle between the two. With a sigh of defeat, y/n put her wallet back in her purse. Helping y/f off their chair, they bowed and thank him for the drinks. He wished the group  a safe walk back home before as they walk outside the door.
On their way back home, y/n noticed that y/f started to get anxious and holding y/n sleeves tight.
”I think we’re being followed.” y/f whispered in her ear. Fearing that whoever behind could hear them. Y/n glanced behind to see two suspicious men in baggy clothes matching their footsteps. Y/n nod and decided to quicken up the pace. Only to suddenly crashed into a man in a suit. His chest was slightly bare. Decorated with fake jewelry. Have his cheap cologne invaded her nose, she recoil away from him. Y/n could’ve sworn that he appeared out of nowhere. Y/n apologize and quickly walk around him. Only to be blocked by him.
”What’s the rush sweetheart. Acting like something is chasing ya heel.” he smirked
Something about him gives y/n bad vibes. something is off. ”I’m just trying to go home.” still trying to avoid him.
He laughs loudly. ”Home!? The night is still young, baby.” he grabs her chin to up at him. ” How about you and your friend can have some fun with me. I can show you a thing or two.” His tongue slithers out. Making y/n flesh crawl. Not wanting to show weakness, she pushed his hands off her face.
”Hell. No.”
Pushing away from him. Holding y/f close to her who is slightly sober but not enough to protect themselves. It seems that he didn’t like no for an answer. Grabbing y/f arm, pulling them back which cause y/n to fall back to him. Surrounded by him and two stalkers from earlier.
Laughing menacing,” Bitch, I’m not gonna let you get a chance.” he growled.
”Fuck I should have known.” she thought. They were working together all along. Stalking on their next prey and we just happen to fall into their trap. Y/f holds y/n closely. Afraid of being snatched away from y/n. They carefully slide pepper spray in y/n hand as the gangman slowly surround them. As the two baggy stalkers got close to y/n, she quickly sprayed them. Punching the other thug in the face while he was distracted. Resulting him to pass out. As the ringleader looks back at his crew in disbelief, y/n grab y/f hand and dashed down the street. All she can here was footsteps and the ringleader calling her a bitch. Dodging through alleys, hoping that she could avoid them that way.
“Just remember what he taught you.” repeating in her head.
Y/n didn’t care if her heels is gonna make her fall against the concrete ground. All she cared about is getting her friend back home safe. Y/n feel a lump in her throat as run into a dead end. Hearing that same menacing, gut-wrenching laugh behind.
”Shit….”
Her gut was right. They caught up with them. Y/n pushed her friend behind to protect them. They continue to stalk towards them.
”You sure are a tough cunt to pull that off. Now.” pulling his knife. ”Let’s try this again.” dragging the knife against her chest and up against her cheeks. The cold blade sending shivers down her spine. Still not wanting to show fear.
“ If you ever get in trouble, NEVER show that you are afraid. They will use it against you and eat you alive.”
One the many lesson he taught y/n before he left. y/n was grateful for that. There where days when she had to defend for herself. But tonight was not one of those days.
Snapping back to reality as the ringleader hovers near y/n ear.
”The boss dog will sure take a liken to you. What’s the harm of having a taste, first? Right?” he hummed. He low voice vibrate against her neck.
”Boss dog?” she thought. Looking down at his suit collar to see a pin that stuck out like a sore thumb. ” It can’t be.” she whispered. Before y/n put two and two together, a wet sensation of a tongue dragged across the side of y/n neck. Closing her eyes in disgust. Holding y/f hands tight for comfort. Wishing this nightmare would end. Feeling his tongue suddenly disappear away from her neck. The sound of shoes scuffing and bodies slamming against the concrete. Y/n carefully open her eyes to see the yakuza’s bruised and passed out of the ground. Above them was the somber man from earlier. Feeling the weight being lifted off her shoulder.
”You guys alright?” he walked carefully toward them.
Y/n let y/f out of her grasp. Comforting them and repeatedly apologizing. Sure they shaken up a bit but they reassured y/n they was fine. With a sigh a relief, she  still feel guilty for bringing them to this mess. y/n look at her now swollen fist. Lost a few nails. Luckily they was fake but sure hurts like hell.
”Yeah, we’re alright.” facing his direction. Surprise to see to have not a scratch on him. He must be really that tough she thought.
Completely bowing to him. ”Thank you for helping us out. I wouldn’t know what would happen to us if you hadn’t shown up.”
He nodded”You should be careful out here. Should’ve known that alleyways can be the death of ya.”
Y/n shameful look away,” Tell me about.”
”Hey, how about I walk y'all home. Treat it as payback from the meal from earlier.”
”That’s why you look so familiar!!” y/f shouts.
They both looked at y/f sudden realization. Y/n chuckled, trying to ease the tension in the atmosphere.
”Sure” walking out the alley. Getting a good distance away from the yakuzas. ” Before we continue, I need to know your name.” He raised an eyebrow. “For safety reason.” Seeing him become hesitant, you decide to break the ice.
”I’m y/n and this is y/f.” raising her eyebrow at him.
”Suzuki.”
”Good!!” she chirped” Now let’s get going.”
Saejima falls behind while the duo takes lead. Giving them space but close enough to follow them. Surprised on how cheerful and talkative y/n and her friend are. Despite what happened earlier. Noticing how shes being aware of her surroundings.
”Hey, Suzuki” y/n looked over her shoulder
Suddenly getting dragged into the conversation. ”hmm.”
”How the food taste? Did it taste alright?”
Rubbing the back of his head. “It tastes alright. Thanks for the offer.”
Giving him a tender smile in response. Being taken aback, he quickly looks away.
”Good. That what I usually eat when I feel sad or not feeling well.”
”Well, it looks like you need to cheer up more.” y/f laugh while poking at y/n waist.
” You know what!?” y/n yelled in defense. Try to hide the smile that crept on her face.
Saejima can’t help but sigh and smile a little from the funny interaction between the two friends. Of course, not leaving him from the conversation. As the continued from their walk, a black car with tinted windows slowly stops next to them. As the backseat window rolled down, a voice emerged from the car. The voice belonging to his oath-brother. A voice she all too familiar of. Quickly hide behind Saejima. Having her back pressed against his as she faked a phone call.
”Eyy,need a ride back home?” Majima yelled out of the car window. Basically dangling outside the car.
”I’m good. Have to walk them back home.” gesturing the group behind him.
” How bout this, I drop everyone back home.” Majima looking over Saejima shoulder.
Y/f looks at y/n for a response. Shaking her head and mouthing the word no.
”No, we’re good.” y/f peaked out from behind.
With a nod between the brothers. “Guess I see you later.” saejima shrugged  while putting his hands in his pocket.
“Have fun with your new lady friends!!” He cooed before he crawled back inside his car.
Saejima shakes his head in disappointment while y/n try to blend into the darkness. Watching the black car drive away, y/n step out of her makeshift hiding spot. “Only a couple of blocks away.” she thought. Looking over the buildings
“Thank you walking for walking us back home. But I think we got it from here.” Y/n said with a long bow.
First time being out and already been shown respect. Something that he’s not used to. Putting his hands back inside his pockets. ” Don’t sweat it. Just get home safe. No alleys this time.”
she laughed softly. Making his heart skipped a beat.
” I promise.” she smiled. With a quick bow from y/n and her friend, she continue to walk. Only to look back to wave him goodbye. Watching the duo disappeared into the darkness, he hopes that they make it back home safely. All he could think about was that girl smile. Shaking away his thoughts. Walking back to the opposite direction.
 “It’s a start.”
