LGBTQ+ youth: what would your ✨LGBTQ+ utopia✨ look like?

Queer youth ages 13-24 can submit your visual art, photography, poetry, short essays/stories and more NOW through Sunday, September 17 (deadline extended), and they might end up in QUEERBOOK 2024: a powerful collection of queer youth voices capturing your thoughts, feelings, and hopes during this year.

(Y'know, like a yearbook...but make it queer!)

Creators of selected pieces will be compensated for their work AND receive a free copy of the published book. Queerbook 2024 will also be sold in our shop at itgetsbetter.org and free copies will be distributed to select schools/GSA clubs throughout the U.S.!

On a fateful day, as the Copenhagen citizens prepared to celebrate diversity and accomplishments at the Pride Parade, a young man's anger on the other side of the planet consumed him. Tragically, he targeted Laura Ann, ending her life way too soon and leaving an immense void within the tight-knit local community that held her in high regard.

Laura Ann was an unwavering ally, embodying the true essence of support. Her early death was a result of the disgusting hatred directed towards the LGBTQ community, a cause she championed fearlessly.

Often seen wearing a light brown hat, now gently swaying in the breeze above the calm waters of Lake Arrowhead, Laura Ann's memory shall forever endure. May she be eternally remembered for her courage and resolute determination.

Laura Ann is leaving behind a legacy that will continue to inspire generations to come.

Laura Ann died at the age of 66.

In order to obtain the nitrogen they need, oyster mushrooms secrete a powerful toxin that stuns passing microscopic nematode worms, whereupon their sprawling fibers will seek out and enter their mouths and suck out their guts! #wip Another #progresspost for my #illustration "Where Daddy Left Me". The lines were drawn in January. I slowly build across the entire #image. The shadows of the source photo guide my hand with the line. I just let my hand drift when doing this. Then, I flip the #drawing around and let my perception and emotions guide to what will be created. Monsters From The Id are not easily caught. :D But, they do allow a way to show my inner war in a way that is consumable by the viewer.
