Studio Ghibli rant since it’s all I can think about:

It’s so interesting to me how much Miyazaki’s own opinions and experiences influence his stories. You don’t see that often in animation. Like in “Nausicaä Of The Valley Of The Wind” and in “Princess Mononoke” you can see his clear opinions on nature and how people view it. You can also see his personal views on nature in “Castle in the Sky.”

I’m bad with words but if you’ve watched those movies you will get my point. You can also see Miyazaki’s experiences in his movies that are about war since his father had a role in the war. In multiple interviews he has talked about this. Movies that have those opinions and experiences are “The Wind Rises,” “Porco Rosso,” and even “howls Moving Castle.” “Princess Mononoke” has a war happening in it but it’s more in the backround and not the focus.

When you look at the timeline of Ghibli films is so interesting to me how big of an influence Miyazaki’s experiences and feelings affected everything, and how you can see the change in his stories. You can really see how he advocates for nature, like in “ponyo” and “Nausicaä Of The Valley Of The Wind”. Miyazaki saying a big point of Totoro was to make kids appreciate nature more.

This is all probably very poorly worded because I’m very bad with explaining my thoughts but I just need to type out how cool Ghibli films are

Idk why but it cracks me up that I work with Ares and I’m convinced my best friend is Hestia in disguise. She’s so calm, peaceful and diplomatic and I’m over here like

Ok wait sorry I miss her so much I need to gush. We became friends on move-in day at our college. We were suite mates in our dorm, and while helping her get her stuff out of her car, her mom yelled “Hey dumb ass” and we both turned around and said “yes maam?” We looked at each other and knew we were stuck together.

I remember when her mom left, she told me to take care of her because she didn’t really drink or party. I reassured her mom I wouldn’t let anything happen to her. I immediately proceeded to get her super drunk at our first party. Over our fist semester I taught her how to hold her liquor, play beer pong and rage cage like a champ, and curse in Spanish.

And while I can’t take full credit for this one, I usually do, there was a boy who id always end up drunk grappling with who she had a crush on which led to her going to MMA club and me tagging along her first few times to ease her nerves.

So yes I taught her how to drink, curse, and (kinda) fight.

But she taught me so much more 😭 she taught me how to really cook, keep plants alive, apologize, to shake of the judgment of others, and hold my boundaries. She taught me girl friendships aren’t all petty and weird and while I had a lot of brothers growing up, she taught me how to be a sister😭😭😭

That hoebag married a boy from our college town and lives 2 states away now but Gods I miss her.

Just tried some of this 'adult yogurt' stuff.

Idk man, it needs more real fruit. I see why ppl always be nutting in these things before yoga or coffee or whatevea

The yogurt by itself is just not tolerable with such a thick coat texture and strong unsweetened cream flavor. My autism will not take it and I will not let propaganda get me to actively like it.

HAPPY MONDAY BABIES 🫶🏻

I want to take a moment and wish all of you a very happy Monday, wishing you all have an amazing week. I hope you all know you’re very much appreciated, needed and loved. Whatever it is you’re going through, I hope you outcome it and take time to also focus on your mental health.

As a kid in a Mexican household, especially mine, mental health, anxiety, depression, you name it, it was never a priority, we just seemed weak or automatically doing drugs, or we just needed to sleep off the funk we were in.

For someone who’s been going through her depression, and social anxiety, going on here and reading some of your fics, or just reading y’all’s feedback of my Instagram AUS, it brings me a little bit of distraction that I deeply need.

Just as I go through my episodes, I’m sure everyone is battling their own. I want to take a moment to let you know that I’m always here, my inbox is always open, even if it’s for a simple hello. I know speaking with strangers sometimes is 100%s better than speaking with a family member or friend, in fear of being judge.

My blog is a safe zone, come express yourself if needed to.
