14.2.23 my baby @caramelcuppaccino 20 days language learning challenge 🤎 (watch me do the challenge and not the language learning) I’ll put two questions together, day 10: how do you enrich your vocabulary? day 11: is there a certain method you use to learn languages? yep, watching movies and series and then speaking to myself (most words that come out of my mouth probably don’t exist, but it’s useful to practice the pronunciation ok)

lunlun's 20 day language learning challenge - day#3
Are there any apps you use to learn languages?
Oh yes. I mainly learn with apps at the moment and only have 2 textbooks (as .pdf).
LingoDeer -> main app, grammar and sentences, contextual vocabulary, great pronunciation
LingoDeer+ -> vocabulary/ sentences, gamified
Drops -> vocabulary, great visualization
Memrise -> vocabulary, clips of natives, a lot of community-made lists
Teudia -> speaking, real-life clips
Papago -> beginner-friendly dictionary
NAVER Dictionary -> intermediate/ advanced dictionary
Toggl Track -> time tracker, to keep a time balance between skills
italki -> booking classes
I also can't recommend Natalia's video enough. Mainly, I use those apps because she highlighted them.
But if you have questions, feel free to ask :)

A picture from my teaching notebook, I tried to make it look okay. The new students on my class are nice kids, although teenagers love to tease.
I forgot to post yesterday, but I worked from home, listened to two episodes of the "Little Talk in Slow French" podcast and prepared class for today's morning. It's raining a lot these days due to the high temperatures and, honestly, I love the freshness rains bring, although I don't like when it catches me getting out of work.
Day 9: What is the biggest struggle of learning a language according to you?
Knowing where to start from and where to go.
Day 10: How do you enrich your vocabulary?
Duolingo and videos.

Language Learning Challenge, Day 1
I'm late to the party on this, but I totally want to join in because I love the idea! I've been obsessed with my First and Second Language Learning class this semester, so I just want to talk about language all the time (even MORE than usual, if you can believe it!)
1: Which languages can you speak besides your native language?
My native language is English, and I can speak Spanish, too! I'm definitely not where I want to be with Spanish, though. It stresses me out that I'm not yet at the skill level where I can express myself as easily, with as much fluidity, as I can in English, so I tend to avoid practicing it (especially around others). But I can still communicate pretty well in Spanish, especially when it comes to reading and writing, so I'm trying to keep practicing and not let my flight response kick in :)
Today's Practice:
Learning the lyrics to Alba Reche's "quimera"--it's one of my favorite songs ever, but I only know a few lines from it, sadly!
Reading the indiehoy review for Repion's new song (which I'm so obsessed with, by the way).

I love answering questions and reading other people`s answers heh soo i would like to participate in lunlun 20 days language learning challenge c: also, i want to motivate myself to study regularly during my winter break.
I started few days ago but didn`t post, so i will summarise it in this post.
Day 1: Which languages can you speak besides your native language?
I speak English as my first foreign language (B1-B2), Arabic (MSA) as my second foreing language (A2) and a little bit Persian and Tatar (both A1). My native language is Russian.
Day 2: Which language/s do you want to learn while doing this challenge?
I want to improve Arabic and Persian. We`ve been learning a lot of difficult vocabulary in Arabic during this semester and i hope to revise it all before the next semester begins. Also, I`ve been learning Persian by myself and my official Persian classes in university will start only after this winter break. I want to feel confident in this subject, so i will learn more basic words and revise some grammar.
Day 3: Are there any apps you use to learn languages?
I use Quizlet for memorizing words and Reverso Context to find usage examples of these words (it helps me to memorize words and phrases in a more effective way). Also, Reverso shows verb conjugation, which is extremely helpful for Arabic and other languages with complex conjugation system. And one of the best sources for language learning for me is forvo.com. There i find the pronunciation of words in any language i learn. Amazing discovery of this year and it hepls a lot with Arabic and Persian.

day one of my language learning challenge:
-> which languages can you speak besides your native language?
my native language is turkish, and i can speak english.
maybe two years has passed since i purchased it, but today i finally started studying the german a2 course i bought on udemy. then i started watching a youtube channel. i think i’ll keep watching both because it’s more fun! apparently german a2 level starts with modalverben, so today i studied them and wrote down some new words. and then, of course, i did my daily duolingo.

23.02.2023 • day 6 of my language learning challenge:
-> are there any free online sources you use to learn languages? please share<3
for german, i use der-artikel.de to find articles. i use bab.la as an online dictionary, it also offers verb conjugations. deutscheseite.de is also helpful, you can vocab lists and etc. and i don’t have more to offer… that’s why i asked you this question… to steal from you… 😔😔
i am sick today but i didn’t want to spend my evening doing nothing, so i decided to study some vocabulary. i wanted to learn reading related words and i had fun tehehe :] i was sneezing most of the time but i now know what kriminalroman means :’)<3

20.02.2023 • day 5 of my language learning challenge:
-> how do you improve or practice your speaking skills?
by listening and repeating! being in germany and hearing locals speak helped me a lot. right now even though my vocabulary is limited, i can read german well :] also the german course i attended three years ago was very helpful because i could communicate with people of my language level.

day 4 of my language learning challenge:
-> how do you improve your listening skills?
i don’t 🤣 i’m kidding i’m kidding. while i was learning english, my only listening material was one direction interview videos and songs… so for a short time i had a very stupid british-ish accent and looking back, my god it must have been really embarassing. but it has nothing to do with the question, so why am i telling you that? for german, i mostly rely on duolingo now, when i was in germany tho, i was always 👂🏼👂🏼to the locals. they were enjoying their convos while i was also enjoying their convos. ah, fun times. i want to find a german show to watch but why the ones on netflix always so dark -_- (pun intended) if you have any german show recs that don’t include murder, crime, mystery, please give me their names. i’m desperate.

20.02.23 my baby @caramelcuppaccino 20 days language learning challenge ⏳ (watch me do the challenge and not the language learning - I’ve stopped practicing French since last Thursday *cries*) Day 12: Which of the extinct (lol) languages would you like to learn if you could? either Danish, Arabic or Latin! Day 13: How many languages are spoken in your country? Italian, and a multitude of dialects (I’ve noticed that the one in my city shared words with French so I asked my dad, and he simply replied “yeah, do you remember that asshole napoleon that conquered us?” oh well)
In Canada news, I’m giving my biometrics next week, so I’m going to Rome on Tuesday 🚀
