Hi! I hope you're doing fantastic. Your poetry about the clouds and sun is so ... POIGNANT. Are you excited about LMK S5? How do you think it's gonna start out? Would you prefer for it to be high stakes right away or low stakes but slowly building up to it? Do you think we'd see any other JTTW characters in it, or maybe in later seasons? What kind of character do you want to see in the next season, in terms of personality and role?
Also, I absolutely hate doing this but could you please ask @loupsbane why they've blocked me again I am absolutely baffled on why this keeps happening to me.
Have a great month, eat your meals regularly, don't skip your breakfast or medicine!
first of all thank you
Are you excited about LMK S5?
yes I am very excited for season 5
How do you think it's gonna start out? Would you prefer for it to be high stakes right away or low stakes but slowly building up to it?
If I had to choose to start season 5 I would say low stakes but slowly building up to it
Do you think we'd see any other JTTW characters in it, or maybe in later seasons?
I think that surely more jttw characters will appear as new characters or in flashbacks, personally I would bet that Erlang Shen could appear
What kind of character do you want to see in the next season, in terms of personality and role?
Ugh I have a very long list of characters I want to appear and now that you've asked I'm going to ramble on about it, bad luck for you
starting with the most probable:
The mayor
Tumblr media
I want to know more about the character, what he was like before meeting LBD and being the mayor, getting to know his relationship with her in depth. Is he just a henchman or does he have his own motivations? what was he doing during Lady Bone Demon's confinement.
Tumblr media
Erlang shen
I'm really dying to see what kind of character Lego Erlang Shen is, what kind of complex character he can be, will he be a villain, an antagonist or maybe an ally? Will being a demigod be important for his character? what will his relationship with Sun Wukong be like? They will be like sworn brothers or enemies
guanyin goddess of mercy
Tumblr media
I really want to know what the lmk writers will do with Guanyin, how important his role would be in the series, taking into account his importance in Journey to the West, I think it would be great if it turned out that all this time Guanyin was secretly watching over MK and his friends helping them without them knowing. I mean, she always helped the pilgrims on their journey and could do the same for mk and his friends. I also wonder if his relationship with Red Son exists in lmk.
Ao bing
Tumblr media
I really want Ao bing to appear, I don't care how or why. basically because I think it would be cool for the fandom to see that Monkey King isn't the only one with skeletons in the closet. It would also be interesting to see Nezha face someone from his past that he thought was buried and that he would never see again
Do you think we'd see any other JTTW characters in it
characters I want to see
Taibai Jinxing (Gold star of venus) I would really like him to appear to help the protagonists
Nezha's family I would like to see Nezha's family even if it's just in flashbacks, especially muzha and LI Jing
lady earth Flow I'm really curious to know what his design would be like in the series.
Jade faced fox although if she appeared I highly doubt that her relationship with the demon Bull King would be the same as in the novel
Jade rabbit
The ones that are least likely to appear but I want them to appear so bad:
Spindrax
Tumblr media
I know the writers wrote it off for Strong Spider, but it would be great to see the spiders again. Maybe as an idea here the character of Spindrax wants to revive the spider queen or maybe avenge the spider queen, the writers could use to spindrax to show us spider queen's past and also give mei a badass biker rival (cough girlfriend cough)
Rumble & Savage
Tumblr media
I know that many think that the macaque is practically redeemed, if they think that that is perfectly fine. but in my opinion I do not agree with that, because the basic thing in a redemption is that the character realizes his mistakes and repents of his bad actions, Yes, Macaque helped defeat the bad guys and everything. but he has no regrets for the damage he did to mk and his friends I thought it would be great for Macaque's future redemption arc to have him face his own past mistakes and what better way to do that is face the little versions of himself who want revenge of you and they won't hesitate to hurt your loved ones in the process just to see you suffer (cough karma cough)
Bone spirits
Tumblr media
I really wanted to see Lady Bone Demon's army in the specials, They are literally the only villainous army not to make an appearance in the show and which I think is a big waste imagine that the mayor was not the only follower of lbd, if there were other followers and allies of her, plus it would be interesting to see more spirits or demons like LBD, besides I love his designs I mean who doesn't like skeletons with hoods.

Currently working on my personal designs for Sun Wukong and Six Eared Macaque, and I need to say: I think I've gone a tad over board. Because I am also figuring out their relationships with Gods/Goddesses/Spirits of different pantheons.
And more ideas are coming.

When Yuebei wad born, Wukong most CERTAINLY went into a medical coma as well. Like, no joke... in Century Egg au, Wukong had gone into labor with potentially he best case scenario and still almost died... wit Yuebai in Slowboiled we've got a Wukong who's been several centuries overdue, had his magic literally running on empty during time, the moment he gets even somewhat decent he then gets strapped to a web and used as a battery, only to then have a madrush that took at minimum the better part of a month and was most likely more to find a weapon, then his powers were fucking short circuited in a magic barrier and then drained even more. Another madrush this time being pushed by his own deceased mate who he is fairly certain hates him and wants him dead, burned by Samhadi Fire, fought an ice with, and then possessed by said ice witch and forced to be used as a weapon against his own troupe, his own adopted cub and mate included. And only AFTER all that he ended up going into labor in some random campsight xD
Thats a good point to bring up.
Another major distinction is that Yuebei (SlowBoiled) was present for many of Wukong's experiences along the Journey, and literally ate the entire soul of ancient being just before she was born. Wukong likely only survives birthing Yuebei because she fully consumed another being's dao (LBD) instead of his own.
And even with Macaque at his side at last, Wukong is still running on empty once the Egg is born. Yuebei is probably still hangs out in her shell for a while before hatching from all the physical/mental stress her parent just went through.
In the meantime, Wukong has disconnected from the chat and has to do a major recharge before he can start waking up again. It really scares the gang at first, but Guanyin manages to soothe their worries that Wukong's physical reaction is super normal given the circumstances.
Tumblr media
He just eepy, give him a few minutes days.
MK: "What about the egg itself? Does it take super long to hatch?" Guanyin (honestly doesn't know): "I'll... get back to you on that." Macaque, ears fluttering happily: "Don't worry. Cub's ok for now, she's just being lazy." MK: "How can you tell?" Macaque: *points at his ears and then to the Egg, smiling wide* "She snores like Wukong does." Yuebei, safetly in Egg: *tiny snoring sounds*
It's also part of the reason Macaque is super cuddly of Wukong before and after the Egg arrives. Stone Monkey instincts tell him to provide as much warmth and emotional support as possible to his mate and his immediate troop members.
Macaque would even sacrifice his own life energy/dao to ensure Wukong survives Yuebei's arrival.
If Guanyin didn't point out something super off about his own body.
Guanyin, doing a check-up on Wukong: "Liu'er Mihou - when where you buried?" Macaque, confused: "Buried? The heck you talking about? When I died I'm pretty sure my whole body got dragged into the Underworld." Guanyin, eyes widening: "Oh-no." Macaque: "What oh-no?" Guanyin: *performs a small spell on Macaque's stomach. Two distinct egg-shaped silhouettes appear* Macaque: *struck silent* Guanyin: "It appears that the Lady Bone Demon physically taking you into her Realm, and likely beneath the earth, caused your body to respond in the same manner as Wukong's when he was buried by the Buddha's hand." Macaque: *pokes stomach* "...why is there two?" Wukong, groggily after days of medical coma: "Two what??" Macaque & Guanyin: *shrieks of joy!*
Yuebei hatches shortly thereafter, causing greater celebration amongst the little troop. Macaque decides to tackle his problem later.

For today's mythology sh*tposting, I'd like to give some inspiration to the fanfic writers out there by giving you an antagonist that has a beef with a certain monkey.
Way back when, there was a goddess called the Old Mother of the Waters/Shui-mu Niang-niang who was notorious for causing floods. The other gods kept trying to catch her, but she always slithered out and kept being a problem. What was heaven to do?
Call their OTHER recurring problem and have HIM deal with her! So good old Sun Wukong went down to deal with the Old Mother, but even though catching up to her was no problem (this is Sun Wukong we're talking about) he couldn’t stop her from slipping away again. Naturally this got him very frustrated, so he went to HIS go to solution:
Guanyin!
So he motors over to her palace in the Southern Seas and they hatch a plan.
Now, the Old Mother was getting pretty hungry. This running from the law business takes it out of you at that age, you know? So she decides to take a little break at a food stall and get something to eat.
JUST AS PLANNED!
For you see, the owner of that stall was Guanyin herself and the food the Old Mother just ate were actually really heavy iron chains that very painfully revert to their true form! Unfortunately for the Old Mother, she was already halfway done with her meal by the time this happened, so she was stuck with iron in her gut and chains coming out of her mouth (honestly I'd just be thankful they weren't coming out the other end...).
So with the flood lady all tied up Sun Wukong drags her to a well at the foot of a mountain in Hsu-i Hsien and locked her up tight, where I'm sure she'll NEVER cause anyone problems EVER AGAIN. There's no way this ancient and powerful goddess of primordial oceans is sitting there, steaming while she waits for escape and dreams of monkey leather boots. Nope, she'll stay there forever, just like the Demon Bull King!
..... oh. OH NO.

Of all the post-canon scenarios in MDZS, the ones that have always interested me the most are those of Jin Ling and Nie Huaisang. Especially Jin Ling's. At just fifteen years old, he has to take charge of a declining clan, with a shattered reputation and diminished power. We know that Jiang Cheng initially helps him seize power, but I doubt that the leader of the Yunmeng Jiang Clan can do much in the internal affairs of the Lanling Jin Clan. At a certain point, it would even be counterproductive, as Jiang Cheng's involvement would create tensions with the elite of the Lanling Jin Clan.
Jin Ling cannot rely on Jiang Cheng: he has to learn quickly to establish himself as a real leader. Remember, we're talking about a fifteen-year-old teenager. Jin Guangyao had years to develop political skills before taking over the clan leadership. Jiang Cheng took over his when he was around seventeen years old, but in his case, there was no one within the clan threatening his power. It's not Jin Ling's situation. Jin Ling faces a hostile clan and a cultivation world furious with his clan. It's a terrible political situation in every sense.
The Lanling Jin Clan was rich and influential. Its influence is lost, almost entirely, after the events of the Guanyin Temple. I don't believe their wealth diminished that much. The clan was presented from the beginning as the richest clan in the cultivation world: I would say it still is. If power consists of wealth and influence, Jin Ling must regain the latter to ensure his clan's position as one of the Great Clans. It is his responsibility as a leader and what would solidify his position. How to regain the lost influence? In the era the work is set in, the most effective way would be through political marriage. With whom? The Gusu Lan Clan does not engage in political marriages. With the Yunmeng Jiang Clan, it would be futile; the relationship between Jin Ling and Jiang Cheng already ensures a good alliance. The options, therefore, would be: a clan not belonging to the Great Clans but with some influence, or with the remaining Great Clan: the Qinghe Nie Clan.
It seems that the Qinghe Nie Clan is going to be the protagonist of the political life of the MDZS post-canon universe. A marital alliance with the Qinghe Nie Clan would be the most appropriate for the Lanling Jin Clan. The question arises: would the Qinghe Nie Clan be interested in an alliance with the Lanling Jin Clan? At this point, we encounter a dilemma: Nie Huaisang must despise the Lanling Jin Clan for everything it did to him in the past. Ally with them and give them the opportunity to rise again may not be a very attractive idea for Nie Huaisang, even though Jin Ling has not personally wronged him. On the other hand, Nie Huaisang has shown on several occasions to be a utilitarian. If his goal is to seize power in the cultivation world, he not only needs influence, but also wealth. And that's where the value of the Lanling Jin Clan lies. If for Nie Huaisang the end justifies the means, he could set aside his resentment against the Lanling Jin Clan and agree to marry a young lady from the Nie Clan to Jin Ling. This would cement Nie Huaisang's rise to power, but at the same time, it could help Jin Ling regain his clan's lost influence and stabilize his position as its Leader.
It's not a headcanon I personally have, but if we look at the reality of the political world of MDZS, I would say this arrangement is the best for both. In the future, there would be an heir of the Lanling Jin Clan with Nie maternal ancestry.
That individual, if he plays his cards right, can aspire to much in the cultivation world.

Finally finished Lady Red Flower's boyfriend! :D Took me a damn week to finish
(Getting really burned out tho, so I might put drawing more of character sheets on hold :/)
Anyway, this is Ash. He used to be a normal monkey, until his current form was given to him by Guanyin. He used to live with my other OC, (whom I haven't posted on Tumblr yet, hopefully will do it soon) and that's where he learned some time manipulation magic. But he couldn't use it yet, since he was just a tiny monkey.
He also has a human form! That's the only transformation he can do tho. But his other powers make up for that, honestly. If there's smoke nearby, he can easily blend into it, like Macaque does with shadow. He can also turn things like plants and wood into ash. Useful if you need to distract an enemy by throwing it into their eyes hehe
As you can see, he has two outfits, for story reasons. I also drew his true form from childhood :3 An adorable little monkey!
I think that's all for now I guess :v

An Exceedingly Brief Introduction to Nezha's Weapons
Hello hello! This post has been re-formatted out of an ask for visibility purposes.
I'm sure items like Nezha's Wind Fire Wheels and Flame Tipped Spear are well known iconography, but in the spirit of over-explaining I would like to describe where these weapons came from among others within his arsenal. This post will overlap with a handful of points I had been saving for a post describing Nezha's military career so I apologize if anything stated becomes redundant.
Did you know that Nezha's conflicts with Ao Guang and the Lady Rock Demoness pre-date the publication of Canonization of the Gods? These stories appear elsewhere succinctly within the Ming-period encyclopedia The Grand Compendium of the Three Religions' Deities which record the careers of more than a hundred divinities, like Guanyin and Mazu (1). One of which described is Nezha. The translated description of his strength is as follows:
Nezha was originally a great arhat-immortal in the service of the Jade Emperor. He was six feet tall, his head crowned by a golden disc. He had six heads, nine eyes, and eight arms. He puffed out dark clouds. He stood on a large rock. His hand weilded an instrument of the law (falü). He roared loudly, summoning clouds and rain, shaking Heaven and Earth. Because the world was full of demon-kings, the Jade Emperor ordered him incarnated on earth ... The demons were all subdued by Nezha: The Bull Demon King, the Lion Demon King, the Elephant Demon King, the Horse-Headed Demon King, the World-Devouring Demon King, the Mother-of-Demons Demon King, the Nine-Headed Demon King, the Tārā Demon King, the Brahmā Demon King, the five-hundred yakshas, and the seventy-two Fire Crows all surrendered to him. (2)
And this reputation as a devout acolyte of either the Buddha or the Jade Emperor depending on which era you are drawing upon is something to be elaborated upon later. The very difference between it being the World-Honored One or the Jade Emperor sending Nezha to quell these demons is worthy of it's own elaborations, however we are here to discuss the two iconic stories that lead to his eventual suicide. Even within the pages of The Grand Compendium he could not escape his own demise:
When he was five days old, Nezha went bathing in the Eastern Ocean. He trampled over the [dragon king's] Crystal Palace. He somersaulted straight to the top of the Precious Pagoda. Because he had trampled over his palace, the infuriated dragon king challenged him to fight. By then, Nezha was already seven days old, and he could overcome the nine dragons. The old dragon had no choice, except complaining to the [Jade] Emperor. The General [Nezha] knew of his intention. Intercepting him by Heaven's Gate, he killed the dragon. Mounting the Jade Emperor's altar, Nezha took the Buddha's bow and arrows. He shot an arrow, unintentionally killing Lady Rock's son. Lady Rock raised an army to fight him. The General [Nezha] took the Demon-Felling Club from his father's altar and, fighting his way Westwards, slew her. Considering that Lady Rock had been the demons' chief, Nezha's father was infuriated. He worried lest his son's killing her would provoke the demon hordes to war. Therefore, the General [Nezha] sliced off his flesh and bones, returning them to his father. Holding fast to his inner soul (zhen ling), he hastened to the Buddha's side, pleading that the World-Honored One make him complete once more. Considering that Nezha could subdue demons, the Buddha snapped a lotus flower. He fashioned it's stem into bones, it's roots into flesh, it's fiber into tendons, and it's leaves into clothes, giving life to Nezha once more. (3)
There are of course similarities and differences but I mention this as it sets forward a number of precedents. Established is the moment Nezha is bathing in the river, the conflict with the dragon king Ao Guang, the presence of a bow and arrow, subjugation of a rock-spirit, and introduction of his iconic lotus motifs to name a few. But more pressingly it helps set the stage for what is perhaps the earliest known documentation of these tales.
Between 1228 and 1250 the Quanzhou Pagodas were constructed, the stone monuments depicting 80 Buddhas, Bodhisattvas, saints, and guardian divinities. The ground floor features ferocious martial gods protecting the stupa's gates so it is not a surprise that Nezha is found here protecting those behind him. Within the southest corner of the Eastern Pagoda's ground level, flanking both sides of the ornamental gate, are the tablets showing a benign and wrathful Nezha.
Tumblr media
Notice the dragon beneath his feet, the belt made from it's tendons in his left hand and the divine bow in his right.
Tumblr media
Notice the six arms and three heads. Alongside holding a sword, Nezha is also holding both a sun and a moon which was typical of many Tantric deities (4).
I only look so far back to help establish the image of the Nezha I am about to describe. The Song and Ming periods had a penchant for depicting Nezha with a fire-emanating wheel and/or fire-emanating ball such as within Hong Mai's Record of Hearsay (夷堅志). The story follows a Jiangxi ritual master named Cheng who was attacked by a strong stone spirit, he recites the "Spell of Nezha's Fireball" to summon him.
Cheng anxiously recited a spell and walked the Big Dipper Outline. The prodigy showed not the slightest fear and gradually pressed in against his body. Cheng realized that this was a stone spirit. Consequently he recited the "Spell of Nezha's Fireball" and, forming a mudrā, recited: "Divine General! Can you tolerate a wang-liang demon obstructing my way? Expel him forthwith!" Suddenly a fireball emerged from behind Cheng's body and struggled with the black lump. After a while a noise burst out, like clashing metal, and the black lump disappeared. The fireball made several revolutions around Cheng's body and also vanished. (5)
The Ming-era fiction, theatre dramas and overly-flattering literature largely named Nezha's fiery weapon as a Dharma wheel, a fire wheel, or a golden wheel. Within The Grand Compendium Nezha is using the Dharma wheel, in Zhu Youdun's The Bodhisattva Manjusri Subjugates the Lion Nezha is using the golden wheel against the fearsome animal, and the 1592 edition of The Journey to the West describes his "lightning-propelled fire wheel"(6). The presence of the fire wheel is not completely unique to Nezha though as it is an ancient emblem of Buddhist law, a similarly Ming-era mural within the Beijing Fahai Temple showing a Tantric deity with six arms and a weapon held by each. The flame wheel is also present here.
The flame wheel was not alone though, often Nezha would have an embroidered ball accompanying it. The Journey to the West would explain it's use in conjunction with the flaming wheel: "The lightning propelled fire wheel was like darting flame; Hither and thither the embroidered ball rotated"(7).
Even Nezha's golden brick has it's roots. Mark Meulenbeld has argued that the golden brick used against his brother Muzha within Canonization of the Gods has origins in Ming Daoist scriptures. The ritual compendium The Daoist Methods United in Principle, which predates Canonization by over two centuries, recommends the use of golden bricks for locking demons in bottles (8).
Equally an argument can be made that Nezha's Wind Fire Wheels and Flame Tipped spear have roots within Daoist exorcism with Buddhist overlap. By the fifteenth century edition of The Daoist Methods United in Principle Nezha is described weilding the golden brick, a golden spear, and riding fire wheels(9).
There are of course other weapons to address, like his qiankun pouch, the qiankun hoop, his sky ribbon, and the Nine Dragon Holy Fire Cover. Please let me know if there is curiosity for these other weapons.

(2) Within the Ming-era edition this description is present on pages 326-327. Within the Qing-era edition, 330-331.
(3) Within the Ming-era edition this is described on page 326. Within the Qing-era edition, page 330.
(4) It is worth saying that this well may not be Nezha. The pagodas lack cartouches. Within Twin Pagodas of Zayton G. Ecke and P. Demiéville cite a local tradition to identify the three-headed six-armed guardian as an asura demon and the opposite image as the dragon king Sāraga. However a proper association between the images is never made and both the bow and tendons are unexplained.
(5) The translation used here is by Edward Davis within Society and the Supernatural on pages 47-48. Within Hong Mai's Yijian zhi the original is on pages 1429-1430. Davis identifies Cheng as a village ritual master and thus distinguished from Daoist priests. However, Li Fengmao's Wuying xinyang on pages 573-574 highlights the orthodox Daoist elements within Cheng's performance.
(6) It may be worth comparing editions here. Take the Ming and Qing era editions of The Grand Compendium page 326 and page 330 respectively against Wu Cheng'en's Journey to the West 4.44, translated by Anthony Yu on 1:129.

I am curious about your LMK au. I mean, i think i remember thar you still have a lady bone demon in you au,right? So if she still wants to erase this reality to create her perfet World, she stills need the samadhi fire, what exactly is she going to do to make red son use it? Cause i dont think he is going to do it if she asks him😂😂😂. Is she going to make him, for example, remember that he had lost his childhood? I can understand that he is ok right now with that, but can still be something that can upset him if the overthink of it.🤔
PD, i love your au and your art! I wish the actual serie was more like that, or at least the part of guanyin and red son still having the samadhi fire.
Pd2.0, do you have a fanfic of all this? If you have, please tell me!!!! 🤩🤩🤩🤩I need it!!!💙💙💙
Sorry if my english is not that perfect😂
hello anon, and thank you for the compliments!! I don't quite have a fanfic proper cus long-format writing is a real struggle for me, but I do plan to do some scenes and such :D I'll post here and on AO3, particularly on this collection <3
as for LBD, that's the thing, that's not her motivation at all! xD like I said, my au is very JTTW-compliant, and in the novels, the White Bone Demon's only motivation was to eat Tripitaka to gain immortality thanks to his multiple lifetimes of cultivation. that's the motivation of pretty much all the demons the pilgrims face, save maybe Princess Iron Fan and Bull Demon King, who both want revenge on Wukong for defeating their son Red Boy.
in my au, LBD gets revived along with a few other demons on the prospect of getting revenge of Wukong for killing them, a proposal offered to them by Macaque. previously I stated that he ran away from the Diyu but after some thinking, im changing it to he was reincarnated once his time on the Diyu was done! despite being reborn, he wanted to get back at Wukong and the aspect of fate itself, and for that he needed to cause some real uproar, thus the sneaking souls out of the Hells for his own plans. however his plans don't include the use of the Samadhi fire, so no need to manipulate Red Son into using it for him.
also the Samadhi fire isn't exclusive to Red Son either! it's a very specific and powerful skill that only a few select individuals can use, but it's not this world-ending power like the series make it out to be. other characters like Nezha and Erlang can use it too uwu

The Library Chapter 2

After getting a small introduction of who had just came knocking on your door, you decided to let Sun Wukong in for some tea you were preparing. And now that you've served it, Sun Wukong decided to finally explain why he needed your help.
"Successor?" You tilted your head to the side in confusion.
Wukong held up a finger as if to say one moment while he sipped his tea. After he's done, that's when he elaborated more "Yep, I need a successor. Someone who's strong enough to carry this staff of mine."
Wukong then produced a red staff with golden ends. It almost reminded you of a pillar you read in one of your books in the library "Thought I'd finally get out of my retirement for a bit, Train someone who can protect the world and all that stuff."
It all sounds so serious, yet the monkey king treated it like it's just a small obligation he has to fulfill, like tending to the garden or sweeping the floors. Something you found out of place, but decided to ignore it in favor of getting more information and some context needed. "Save the world? Are you some kind of guardian of the world?" you asked.
"Nah, just someone who thought its the right thing to do. So, you interested in helping me on this bud?"
Bud? Nevermind that nickname, there's still one more thing that confuses you "Wait, I can understand needing a successor, but why ask for MY help, isn't there someone more qualified here to do that?"
What makes you so special that the monkey king would ask for your help? You're just a normal girl who lives in her house alone, trying to live a peaceful life a top this mountain. Then someone who just screams adventure and wandering comes knocking on your door asking for help to look for a successor. Something you only have limited knowledge in.
"Oh no no no no no, Lady Guanyin says that you're the person who's more qualified to help with my search. And you can drop the act now." Wukong stated and you just raised an eyebrow.
"What act?" You challenged, in response, the monkey king just smiles that carries an air of pride around it.
"I know you have the scroll of travel. It's hidden in your little library, isn't it."
Wukong's smile dropped when he saw your face take on a difficult expression. And you knew  that he knew he was right. The question is, how did he know about your most prized treasure? The scroll that you would always use to travel the world through the lens of paper and ink. The scroll you use to get away from the loneliness the mountain sometimes give. And now someone is looking for the same scroll, and you're not sure if you want to lend it. You still don't know what this monkey's real intention is. Lady Guanyin could've sent him, but this could all be a trap too.
What to do?
What to do?
As for Wukong's side of it all. He expected this, it was a challenge to read you, but he finally got the gist enough to know that she is hiding the scroll of travel. But there's something about you that made him feel like you're hiding something more. And he's really curious to know what it is. But, it's not his business, if you said no when it came to helping him, he can always find another way. If you said yes, then he can figure out that secret that you're hiding. And when he was met by your silence and eyes that showed the war in your mind made him the decision for her.
"It's okay if you said no, I know this is a sudden thing to spring on you." Sun Wukong stood up, drinking thee rest of the tea before setting it down the table with a small thud.
"Thanks for the tea." Wukong says before grabbing his staff. And made his way out the door.
"Wait!"
At least just when he had opened the door. That's when he stopped and turned to you. Who was now standing up and reaching a hand out. A hand that you set down when you noticed you got his attention. Then you stated your decision.
"I'll help you look for a successor." You said it with such confidence that Wukong didn't need to ask if you're sure about your choice, You really did set your mind on it, and Wukong can sense the determination in it. And not going to lie, he's impressed. You seemed quite the timid person, and he never expected you to have such resolve so quickly. But of course, he'll just have to wait and see how long that lasts.
"Awesome! Thanks for you help—uh?" The moment the monkey king trailed off is the moment you realized that you weren't minding your manners.
"Oh! Sorry! My name is (Y/n)."
"(Y/n)... Welp! Nice to meet ya bud! Looking forward to working with you!" The monkey king then offered his hand. You know what gesture this is, you always read about how characters in books would introduce themselves and then shake hands vertically. And now, you're finally going to experience what it's like to do such a gesture. You took the monkey king's hand and gave it the most firm handshake you can give.
The feeling was. . . Honestly pleasant.

The hallway echoed with every footstep you took. And while you're used to hearing your footsteps. You have to adjust getting used to hearing others. That's why you hold back a flinch everytime you hear another pair following you, you have to keep reminding yourself that it's just the monkey king and that everything is going to be fine. To pass the time Monkey king began whistling a tune to himself as you lead him to the travel room. And to also pass the time, he decided to struck up a conversation.
"So, how does this travel scroll work exactly? Does it teleport you to places or what?"
That's when you gave a small little smirk "Oh you'll see."
Words simply cannot describe how this scroll works, that's why you'll let the scroll do the talking on its own.
Now, after a few more walking. You finally arrived at the door. The jade key in your pocket was finally let out for the first time in a long time. You inserted the key in it's right place and twisted. A click could be heard echoing with the breathing. Entangled with the groan of the door when it opened up.
The monkey king whistles as he took in the sight of the library the moment the place filled with light. Thanks to the lanterns of course.
"Woah, for a small house in the mountain this is one huge library!"
"Please don't touch anything while I get the scroll." You didn't have to look in his direction to know that the monkey king is one finger away from touching one of the books. And that knowledge fueled what happened next.
Wukong felt himself freeze and no matter what he did he can't move a single muscle, even his mouth couldn't say a thing, it's already leaving a bad taste in his mouth. Memories of when he was stuck under a mountain came flooding back to him, but just as soon as it arrived, it quickly went away and Sun Wukong can feel his control is back in his body.
Perfect timing too because you just came back with the scroll at hand.
"Here it is Wukong. The travel scroll."
You held it firmly in your hands but you still showed it enough that Wukong can see the rolled green paper with handles. This is it, his chance to find the perfect successor to take on this role. You then got ready to open it.
"Ready Wukong?"
The monkey king smirks "Ready as I'll ever be!"
A smirk that you returned and in one decisive motion you opened the scroll. Allowing the golden light to consume you both.
