Kalau kita baca kearifan lokal, cara takfiri justru berbeda jauh dengan nilai-nilai kearifan Indonesia. Kita tentu sudah sering mendengarkan bahwa saat Islam masuk di Indonesia. Umat Islam mengakomodir kebudayaan lokal dengan memberikan nafas islami didalamnya. Dulu nenek moyang kita animisme yang doyan bawa sesajen, akhirnya yang dulu bawa makanan di tempat keramat, diganti dengan membawa makanan bersama di masjid, seperti budaya maulid atau isra mi’raj di beberapa daerah. Islam mengharamkan untuk membongkar dan merusak rumah ibadah umat lain, sehingga hari ini kita masih bisa melihat candi, arca dan peninggalan agama kuno. Itulah indahnya hidup di Indonesia, tanpa menjadi takfiri. Hal ini terjadi karena ulama yang memasukkan Islam ke Indonesia, hebat dalam memilah yang universal (kulliyah) dengan yang partikular (juziyyah). Ajaran universal diterima apa adanya, sedangkan yang partikular dikawinkan dengan ekspresi budaya lokal. Beda dengan kita yang kadar keislamannya kaleng-kaleng karena ambigu membedakan dua hal tersebut. Semoga dengan semangat akhi dan ukhti yang kritis terhadap budaya dan tradisi dari luar Indonesia, menjadikan kita mau menjaga budaya dan tidak takfiri.
