Remon (finally) on people's reaction to BTS' military enlistment

When the cat’s away, the mice play. I expected the news of BTS’ enlistment to blow up like aluminum foil in a microwave and rattle the kpop world, I was not disappointed. It’s been quite amusing reading people’s celebratory posts and crowns being stolen, but I think they’ll be the disappointed ones. The people who think BTS is gatekeeping their “faves’” success are going about it all wrong. If success is measured by how popular you are, how many numbers you pull, whether you influence people or not, then the biggest factor these people should be looking at, is their own fandom itself.

Quarrels between fandoms are common, and the entire “who’s better” is really subjective, in my humblest opinion. There is an audience for everything and there’s always going to be people who prefer one thing over another. That includes people and groups. So the entire “who’s better” question is very pointless to me. I’ve said time and time again that anyone who has debuted in a group, who has continued to practice their craft after disbandment, or in between group comebacks, no matter what company they come from, has earned their place and is dedicated to their craft and what they want to do. As a someone who has no musical talent whatsoever, I have no right to judge theirs, and therefore, as I said, everyone who has debuted has earned it with their own measures. You can call it talent, persistency, effort, whatever you want.

Liking someone else better and hating someone else more are two different things. If I have to be honest there are people I don’t like withing the industry, I can’t say entire groups for sure, but there are people who just genuinely rub me off the wrong way. But I don’t allow myself to go on the internet and badmouth them and say how much I hate them and…. Why would I? What does it achieve? They don’t know me, I don’t really know them, they’re doing their own thing and so am I. I don’t like you but no one’s forcing me to pay attention to you. And even when I don’t like someone, I still recognize the place they’ve gotten to, and that alone is something to respect and leave it at that. Just. Leave. It.

The other thing is, people who think ARMYs will just go inactive for 2 years while members, more or less, individually enlist at a time, is just unrealistic. Even if you’re not part of the fandom, you know how dedicated they are. If one fandom doesn’t stop its support for a certain group while they’re going through the process of serving their time, why would they expect another fandom to just up and leave? If your preferred artist went to serve their time in the military for two years would that lessen their hold on you? Would you stop supporting them as strongly as before? If the answer is no, then why would you assume that would be the case for someone else? It just doesn’t make logical sense to me.

I’m really trying to stay objective here, but you can see where the problem lies from miles away. If the first reaction you have upon hearing about BTS’ military enlistment is to celebrate the end of “gatekeeping” for your preferred artist, then you’re ruled more by the hatred towards one than the love towards the other. Bottom line is, mind your own artist, mind your own business, stop being toxic and for your sake do something better with your time.

I went to Kingdom’s Toronto concert. At the end when they were doing a group photo, fans handed them multiple flags. One of the members, to free up his hands, SHOVED THE ASEXUAL FLAG DOWN HIS PANTS.

This unintentional irony has got to be the funniest thing I ever saw at a kpop concert.

My opinions on Taemin’s Guilty that no one asked for but I will give anyway.

Very very long post ahead

Taemin came and saved kpop I loved it. His album was truly amazing. I mean no one does it like him.

Every album he’s ever done has been carefully created by him and you can tell he puts his whole heart into each of them. I am extremely proud of him and everything he does. He really loves his art and it feels authentic to himself.

He has restored my love for Korean music that was missing for at least half of this year.

Guilty is the perfect title track he did so well with everything the aesthetic of the video the DANCE????! out of this world I am just so impressed by everything he does. I am not just saying this because he’s one of my ults but because he truly is a talented person who’s passion for his art is just so visible to us who don’t even know him personally. This song is genius I love it the lyrics the beat the dance everything is just perfect.

THE RIZZNESS IM AFRAID THESE TIKTOK GIRLIES JUST DONT FUCKING GET IT UGHHHH I swear to god this song is soooooo good and the dance is so hot like I understand using this word unironically might be silly BUT IT STILL WORKS BECAUSE ITS FUCKING LEE TAEMIN. The audacity to laugh at TAEMIN when your faves be singing shit that makes no sense or proudly saying that songs were written by them and it still be making no sense… and I mean the fact that we know why the hate train was started for Taemin and BY WHO. But I’m not here to talk about untalented ppl who can only go around because they have a pretty face.

She Loves Me She Loves Me Not it’s so good. One of my fave songs in the album the lyrics are my favorite thing I am obsessed with this song. I think it’s not a style we normally hear taemin do and he just pulled it so well.

Not over you is MY FAVORITE SONG. I know everyone have their own interpretations. It’s fine I’ll take it the literal way it sounds and it’s a heartbroken person. I’m a simple minded person who can’t get into deep theories my brain just doesn’t work that way. I love sad songs angsty media is what I live for. I just love the sorrowful sound of this song.

I think placing Night Away after Not Over You is just so perfect because not only is the beat STILL has a deep sad feeling but with a hint of light that even without reading the lyrics you can feel that things might be getting better for that broken heart you can start seeing that light at the end of the tunnel.

And then with Blue it really feels like things will finally be better and good and like he will finally find happiness.

The album starts in a almost angry tone to sad to and an ending with finding peace I absolutely love this album he truly did so great

I truly don’t think there are other idols like Taemin he’s so talented at everything he do. He’s so loved by everyone and it’s like it’s so obviously clear why. He’s really a role model to the newer generations of idols.

Today being the last day for Guilty promo I wanted to talk about the album. I am so proud of Taemin and I truly hope that he can continue to do what he loves more.
