Muzan’s voice boomed, echoing through that castle. (Y/N) new to the bunch, still not getting as to why it’s such a big deal to be “respectful” to their lord and provider, gets up from the bowed position they were previously in.

Leaving the other upper moons in fear and pity as Muzan hasn’t called off the meeting, you can hear the faint wails of Hatengu shriveling up.

“You dare challenge my presence you” muzan voice booms as he narrows his eyes as he observes the upper rank 6

(Y/N) stands up to their full height, making direct eye contact with the lord in question

“No, I could never my lord” (Y/N) slightly bowing while maintaining eye contact

“But if we were to be honest this meeting if very much to my distaste”

Even Douma who would say something along those lines

Who as well believes he’s a equal to Muzan, looks at the rest of the upper moons while they all collectively make eye contact while returning to their heads into their low positions.

(Y/N) lips contort into a lopsided smirk resting how far muzan willing to go.

Muzan use his cells to inflict pain of submission to the demon, (Y/N) seemingly unfazed takes a step towards him, ignoring the weight of muzan intoxicating aura

As if on cue the echoing sounds of Nakimes Biwa, (Y/N) was teleported to what seems to be a clearing in the forest where the moon illuminated their demonic skin

“You wanna step up to me, kill the boy with the hanafuda earrings and bring me the girl who conquered the sun.. and I’ll consider forgiving your actions at todays meeting”

Muzans voice echoing through (Y/N) head, using his ability to talk to her telepathically via his cells

“Let’s say I fail to complete this task lord kibutsuji”

“You’ll receive a punishment worthy of someone like you…”

voice fading into the night (Y/N) starts they’re hunt for the prey.

Notes: I just painted my nails after a breakdown (I'm fine lol dw) over college and suddenly got the urge to paint their nails too. These hc's are incredibly short, I apologize <3

❥ Akaza

Akaza had walked in on you painting your nails a (color), and looked at his own pink nails

Turning to see him after you finished the first hand, you gave him a little smile

"Wanna join me, Aka?"

He'll happily sit with you, letting your hands hold his steady while you paint the same color on him

He loves matching with you, so this just makes him excited

Absolutely demolishes Douma if he makes any kind of comment about it

But the bastard just begs for more pain. He's got the fucking "Wow...your punch really turned me on!" energy going on (please tell me SOMEBODY gets that reference...)

Whenever you take the nail polish off, he's gonna wanna be there so he can take his off too. Then will probably ask if you're going to put on another color or not

❥ Kokushibo

His multiple eyes scare the shit out of me, but I'd rather them be freaky than not utilized at all

I still love him tho <3

Koku's nails aren't painted like some other demons, but he suppose he'll do one hand in black if it'll make you happy

He's silent and keeps a neutral expression as he sits beside you, allowing you to paint his right hand and you can paint your left, so that when you hold his hand, it seems like you're joined together

He just likes the subtle domesticity

"Well, what about my other hand?"

"Do whatever you want." Koku spoke slowly.

"And what about your other hand?"

"No."

He only wants one hand painted, slightly questioning if Muzan would disapprove of his nails being painted in the first place

But then he remembers Douma's, Akaza's and Gyutaro's nails are painted, and then he suddenly doesn't care that one of his hands are painted

Wont do anything but direct a cold, neutral look at someone if they make fun of his nails only being painted on one hand

They were done by his s/o, eat shit and die, peasant

❥ Douma

Is ecstatic

Immediately takes off his own blue nail polish to math whatever color you're putting on

Gives you kisses as you paint his nails, sometimes making you mess up and get the polish on his skin

"Not to worry, darling! I can always take it off my skin, you just keep painting!" Douma grins, continuing to kiss you

Parades your matching nails around like it's the greatest gift ever

Brags to Akaza about how he has "such an amazing s/o" and how Akaza doesn't

Of course he gets hit, but Douma then salivates for more negative attention from Akaza

Once the polish begins to chip away, he's going to sit you down, take off the polish from both of you and then paint your nails again himself, in a different color

"We should switch turns every time!" Douma exclaims

"Oh, maybe we could even mix and match depending on the upcoming holiday! How fun! Oh, this is the best idea you've had, darling~!"

❥ Gyutaro

Okay, Gyutaro probably needs a serious manicure (and this is coming from someone who never gets manicures, but at least has a nail filer)

Would also probably do his skin some good to have his nails filed down, cause then it can't...y'know...COME OFF

But I do think the gray color on his nails is the natural color they are now, but I also like to believe that sometimes he paints his nails black to feel better <3

When he sees you painting your nails, he immediately wants to join. Ume is probably not too far behind, so she'll probably join in before Gyutaro

If the color you're painting your nails with isn't black, then he'll paint his nails himself while watching you and Ume match your colors

If it is black, then he'll happily let you paint his nails for him (the teasing from his sister later on is so worth it, because you touched his unworthy hands!!!)

Gyu would also probably keep re-applying the nail polish whenever it got slightly chipped, believing you'd grow angry and upset at what he deemed as "decimation to your art"

Whenever he sees black nail polish he thinks of you now, so have fun with that lol

Probably keeps a shit ton of black nail polish on standby cause he keeps stealing yours

• Being the demon king, he isn’t the very best at comfort. I think we’re all aware of that.

• Isn’t fazed by your crying. i mean, it isn’t anything new to him. He murders and eats people on a daily basis so crying isn’t something that’s unusual for him to witness..

• However, it’s YOU crying.

• You crying makes Muzan feel… not good.

• He can’t really explain it.

• All he knows is that he strongly dislikes seeing/hearing you cry.

• At first he scolded you for showing such emotions. But then he only realized he made you cry more afterwards.

• Muzan feels horrible. But you’ll never hear that coming from him.

• The two of you are the complete opposite.

• He only got angry at you for crying at first because you were crying over something so stupid and second of all he didn’t want to admit he didn’t like seeing you cry and has no idea how to comfort you properly.

• But unlike Muzan, Kokushibo won’t be annoyed by your crying.

• Kokushibo has cried himself before so why should he judge you? (Even though he’s only cried like.. once)

• All though Koku has cried before. It was awhile ago and he barely remembers it. However, he isn’t a crybaby.

• He’s honestly surprised by how much you cry.

• Never has encountered a human who cries as much as you do.

• It comes to a point where sometimes he feels helpless.

• Kokushibo isn’t very vocal. So expect him to be more on the physical side when it comes to comfort.

• Words of affirmation isn’t his strong suit either.

• Becomes immensely confused when you cry more whenever he hugs you. (You cry more when people comfort you)

• Like huh?? Why did you start to cry more?? Should he stop??

• This makes you even more upset and only turns you into a bigger of a crybaby.

• Sekido secretly feels horrible.

• Eventually he mans up and apologizes stubbornly. Admits that he’s not used to comforting others and isn’t a fan of crying.

• Of course you forgive him because you know how he is. You know that he didn’t mean it.

• Sekido is not exactly uncomfortable around those who are sensitive. I mean, he deals with Aizetsu so he’s used to it.

• Sekido isn’t just used to comforting others.

• In fact, he’s HORRIBLE at it.

• The best you’ll get is cuddles (if you’re lucky)

• Then again, he ain’t used to this 😔😔

• Fortunately for you, Sekido will do his best to try and appear less intimidating around you.

Karaku

• THIS MAN ADORES YOU! (in a peculiar way..)

• The second he sees you a crying mess he’s scooping you up into his arms and cradling you.

• He’ll lay down with you and allow you to lay your head on his chest as you cry.

• Karaku will understand if you’re upset over something that actually makes sense but if it’s something tiny he’s like; ???

• Teases you about it:(

• Similar to Douma, he gets off by how you rely on him when you’re an emotional wreck.

• Sometimes Karaku will purposely make you cry because he’s lowkey a sadist.

• Karaku has that little secret smirk on his face whenever you start babbling about whatever it is upset you.

• Just shushes you as your babbling continues.

• First, he will comfort you before gladly executing the asshole who hurt your fragile little heart.

• “Awhh! It’s okay darlin’ you don’t have to worry about them anymore!!”

• Once he debated on whether or not he should tell you that he kills whoever upset you.

• Unlike the other uppermoons for some reason he doesn’t tell you that he killed the person who made you cry.

• Karaku doesn’t say anything in hidden fear that he’ll scare you more or make you cry again.

• Don’t get me wrong, loves comforting you, loves how you need him, but he also hates seeing you cry.

• Always wants you to feel satisfied and happy!

• Karaku will do ANYTHING in his power to get your tears to stop.

Aizetsu

• Aizetsu understands you more than anyone else.

• He also has the strong tendency to be a crybaby himself.

• At first, Aizetsu will he too shy to comfort you.

• Aizetsu feels bad for you and would hate to leave you alone.

• As i said before, Urogi won’t ever judge you!

• The moment you begin to break down you’re scooped up into his arms

• “Hey, hey, hey! what’s the matter, sweetheart?”

• Will pressure you into telling him what’s wrong.

• Isn’t too thrilled when he realizes how downright negative you are.

• Probably forces you to smile, he’ll gently use his talons to force your lips into a smiling while chuckling at you. (Tries not to accidentally cut you in the process)

• Gives you reassurance that he’s here for you and there is no need to feel upset!!

• Is more than happy to kill the unworthy bastard who made you dry.

• I feel like Urogi would just take you flying somewhere to get some fresh hair. That’ll help, right?!

• The type to wrap his wings around you. His wings are quite big so he loves seeing how tiny you look in them.

• Tickle fights? yes! definitely! Wants to see a real smile so this menace will begin ticking you out of no where until you’re a giggling mess.

• Urogi is the talkative type so he will keep talking to you in hopes that’ll calm you down/distract you at least.

A long, long time had passed since the last encounter you had with Kokushibo. He truly did let you think about the situation, or perhaps he had forgotten all about you, that thought poked at your mind too. You made up your mind on the situation, but when it came to reaching out to him.. That seemed impossible. Little did you know, the demon was expecting you to not want to reach out to him, thus he hadn't given you the chance to- and yet he watched over your house whenever his path crossed it. It's just because he may have caused you some paranoia, that's what he told himself at least.

One of those nights, he watched you come out to your garden, put something on the ground- and that's when the smell of blood hit him. It was light, but it was there nonetheless- you were either suicidal or trying to get his attention- so as soon as you went back inside he leaped down to see what you set on the ground, and his gaze fell on a letter, smeared with what seemed like your blood. As soon as he landed on the ground, he retreated back into the shadows, away from your eyes which watched him through the window.

The content of the letter was simple: a date, a time and a location to meet up- "For if we keep avoiding a conversation, neither of us will be satisfied"- that's all you wrote in it. He figured was truly meant for him, unless you just so happened to know another demon swordsman with six eyes.. He doubted you did.

The night came, and you found him waiting for you, patiently leaning against a tree, with his eyes closed. He didn't need to open them to know that you were there, and so he didn't. Instead, he started speaking "I assume you've made a decision.. I shall respect it.. No matter what it is." this time it didn't make you shudder, instead you stepped slightly closer to him. He no longer sensed your fear, it made him curious, you made him curious. One of his eyes opened to observe your beauty, in case this would be the last time he saw it.

"I have. We can continue our meetings.. As long as you don't go after any human from this village."

This was the answer that he thought to be too optimistic to consider, so hearing your voice confirm it confused him beyond belief. "You were scared of me after that swordsmans warning.. What has changed?" His eyes locked with yours, the stars and moon watched over you both, granting you the light to see eachother clearly. "That letter, it only attracted your attention because of the smell of my blood. And yet, despite knowing you could freely hurt me, you didn't do so." He quietly and patiently listened to your explanation- so it truly was your blood. "You went away so you wouldn't hurt me, am I right?" He slowly nodded at the question "Yes, it seems to me that you are.." You waited for him to say something after that, perhaps you wanting him to avoid an entire village was a bit too much, but they were a second family to you.. And if he couldn't spare them for your sake-

"Very well, I shall not hurt anyone from this village.. I do not see how this would inconvenience m-.." You cut him off, wrapping your arms around him- he would've assumed it was too soon for physical affection, but if that is what you desired in this moment- his hands found their way around your torso, resting on your back gently, as if a touch slightly too heavy would bruise you. "You never fail to surprise me.." and yet he wasn't the only one surprised, as you could hear a smile in his voice, and as you for a moment could've mistaken him for a human due to his warm touch.

Bonus:

Your head rested on his chest, yearning to be held for just a bit longer, even if he showed no sign of letting go. "Are you tired?.. Perhaps you should get some rest.." He heard a hum in response, which he took as a confirmation. That hum turned into a short gasp as he easily picked you up, allowing you to continue resting against him. The reaction made Kokushibo smile, and he heard you giggle at the sight of his lips turning up and his gaze softening down at you- and you could've sworn you heard the familiar sound of a heartbeat in his chest. Before you knew it, you were back home, and you feet were back on the ground. Once you approached your front door, you saw him turn away- if he were to go away once again, you'd have no chance of catching him. So you reached to grab his sleeve, startling him, and his head turned to question your movement.

"If you wish, you could stay the night.."

"..As much as I would like to, the morning sun would-"

"-I will cover the windows, you'd be safe inside. That demon slayer is probably still around, so.."

He sighed at the excuse you made up, and allowed himself to be pulled inside by you. Perhaps he could allow himself to be reminded of his human origins, just this once though, and just for you.

WHAT'S WORTH FIGHTING FOR?

YUICHIRO X READER ONE SHOT

Warning: Not proofread, mentions of blood. Yuichiro lives instead of Muichiro

What if the overwhelming intensity of affection became unbearable? The love that you had always yearned for has transformed into your most worst nightmare?

The moment Yuichiro poured out his love for you. You thought you were dreaming, the cold and harsh mist hashira was in front of you declaring his feelings. You were the only person who had break into his walls that he had build up so high no one can get in. He was so used of pushing people out of fear that he will be left alone but you stayed. Upon realizing that this is real, you couldn't contain your excitement and embrace him in your arms. It turns out he had loved you all along and hearing those words made you feel like the happiest person on earth. This is what you always yearned for, to finally be with him, safe in his loving arms.

He vowed to protect you. At first, you found it cute but missions after missions, you began to notice that he was not fighting for his life, rather, he was fighting for your life. It didn't matter if he was wounded and bleeding; as long as you were safe, he could maintain his sanity. Your solo missions has forcefully become duo mission, demanding you to tag him along. What was supposed to be your fight against demons has now become his responsibility, and he no longer allowed you to accompany him on his solo missions, claiming them as his own battles against demons.

That made you upset, feeling as if you had suddenly become useless, helplessly watching him take on a demon that was supposed your responsibility. You always tried to talk him out of it, reminding him that you're a hashira also and not some kakushi that always tends to him after the battle, but he refused to listen to your words. Yuichiro was known for being rational type of person so how come he's right in front of you wounded for mindlessly taking a blow for you?

You are currently tending to his wounds, as you always do after missions. This has become a new and unwelcome routine for you.

"I never like it when you take a blow for me" you mumbled, frowning at the Mist Hashira in front of you while applying some ointment on his wound.

The demon had inflicted severe wounds on him, which were intended for you. Witnessing him in this state shattered your heart. Although he attempted to appear strong, you could perceive the immense pain in his eyes, evident by the subtle twitching whenever you applied ointment.

Yuichiro concealed his pain but managed a tender smile, softly cupping your face to direct your focus away from his wounds. 'I love you,' he sincerely confessed, looking at you intently, softly caressing your delicate cheek before tucking your hair behind your ear, "and I would endure countless blows to spare you from suffering" The thought of you in pain deeply affected him, causing his heart to ache. However, he failed to realize that you also couldn't bear to see him in such a state.

"I'm a Star Pillar, Yui," you softly responded with a frown, intently gazing at your lover. "I don't need protection. I have the strength to endure those blows. That's what we were trained for," you lightly protested.

As usual, he ignored your words. Frowning and sighing heavily. You narrowed your eyes at him.

"Will you listen to me for once?! " you exasperated, starting to get agitated as he once again disregarded your words.

Yuichiro was startled, looking at you puzzled at your sudden outburst.

"Does my words not matter to you?" you asked, eyeing him as you wait for his answer.

"I don't want you getting hurt" he plainly answer.

There he is again, the 'talk' of not wanting you get hurt. The way he acts, it seems that he doesn't trust your own capabilities. He had always asked you to quit in demon corps. and you always turned them down.

In retaliation, he demand you to tag him along, stay within his sight, always listen to his command. It reached to the point that he freaked out when you were tasked with a mission with other fellow hashira and not him, he almost challenged them their strength, you were humiliated at say the least, it was a good thing that your fellow hashira is understanding.

It is sweet that he wanted to protect you but the over protectiveness was somewhat suffocating. This is not what you were made for. You were born to help, to protect people not to just stand and helplessly watch them suffer while knowing you could do something but Yuichiro over protectively stops you from fighting, barking at you to stand by and you felt utterly useless.

"I've had enough Yui, I'm not gonna stand here and let you fight my battle." You exasperated.

"Calm down," he murmured, yet your reaction was the complete opposite.

"Calm Down?! Have you seen how wounded you are?!" You exclaim, fiercely pointing your finger to his wounded arm in frustration.

Yuichiro took his gaze off from you, "I am only protecting you" he answered with a hint of annoyance.

"protecting from what Yui? I'm a hashira for goodness sake, I don't need you protecting me all the time."

"stop" Yuichiro warned, pinching the bridge of his nose, something he usually do when he's annoyed.

"No, you need to listen, this is becoming out of hand, I'm a hashira Yui, don't you recognize me as one?"

"You became a hashira because of me!" He snapped, looking at you in fierce gaze as he harshly answer you. You stood frozen upon hearing him.

"You only beheaded those demons after I weakened them" he continued,

"You should be thankful that I'm here protecting you despite you always trying to get in the way, but you are being ungrateful right now" Each word that he spouts from his mouth stings your heart. Your eyes start to well up with tears, but you try your hardest not to show any signs of emotion.

"If you are out on your own, do you think you'd survive out there?!" He screamed,

Right there and then, it was like a bucket of cold water splashed on you as the realization dawned upon you that he never believed in you. Did he ever truly love you at all?

"Do you really think I'm that weak" Your words were barely a whisper but he heard you.

You raised your head to meet your glossy eyes with his wide eyes as if realization hit him that he hurt you with his harsh words again.

"then tell me, have you ever asked yourself, Am I worth fighting for?"

You didn't wait for his answer and left him there, it might hurt you more if he answered you.

For the the past few days, you managed to hide from him. Days had turned to weeks, you successfully avoided him.

And you tried your best to ignore him. If you have hashira meetings, you sit the farthest away from him and leave the headquarters as soon as the meeting is dismissed.

Never giving him a chance to talk to you, the pillars had begun to notice the tension between you and Yuichiro. They first thought it was a simple love quarrel that you two would make up after a day, since one of you, specifically you, is easily prone to giving in. But seeing that you two had not made up after one week, they had grown concerned.

You stare at the stars as you let out a soft sigh, feeling lonely without him besides you, his presence itself had always brought you solace at times you were feeling down, except this time, it were feeling down because of him.

You began to contemplate the previous days, ask yourself the same questions, "What is worth fighting for?" you live in the world where there's no safe place.

During at night, nobody is at ease because of those filthy man eating demons they were everywhere waiting for their right moment to attack you when you are vulnerable.

But come to think of it, humans are way worst, you never knew they were attacking you behind your back. Pretending to be all nice and sweet but it was all an act to fall into their arms. Taking advantage of you and tossing you away once you are no use.

You were never appreciated, no one ever believed in you. You were always pressured to do your best, but Master Kagaya had accepted you first and believed in you. He welcomed you to the demon corps where you had met Yuichiro. You were always put on missions with him before you became an official hashira. He helped training you along the way that you ranked up so fast you were called favorite by fellow slayers.

Yuichiro has told you that you were doing so well that they were just jealous and to ignored them. But of course they never escape from the wrath of Yuichiro, torturing them in the 'training' they asked for it.

You heard the flapping sound of bird approaching and notice it was Yuichiro's Kasugai Crow, at first you thought it was another letter that he sent to you ever since that day, you were about to brush off his crow but his squawking made you freeze 'Upper Moon Attack on (Village Name) and at the same time your kasugai crow squawked at you to hurry up and save the village.

Grabbing your katana, you bolted out, using your tenth form star breathing technique: Starlight

A breathing technique, a Star whooshing away in a speed of light giving you speed in your movement.

A white and blue flames surrounds you as you speed up, Yuichiro is assigned in that village, you knew his capabilities but you couldn't bear to him get hurt.

The thought made you almost halt as realization slap you, maybe Yuichiro cared after all, he knew your capabilities but also didn't want to get you hurt. He's been saying that all along but you were to blinded to see that.

You reached the scene, finding Yuichiro in critical condition as the upper moon demon prepared to strike the final blow. Without delay, you rushed forward and shielded him, taking a direct hit to your vital area that caused blood to gush out. A blood spurt out of your mouth at the impact.

"Y/n!" Yuichiro exclaimed, staring at you in horror. He hadn't anticipated your arrival or that you would take the hit for him. He caught you before you could hit the ground, frantically calling your name while lightly tapping your face to open your eyes.

The sound of the demon's laughter had the pounding in his heart speed up, he could feel the blood boiling up and all he could see is red.

When he came back to his senses, he was standing in front of the demon as the it turn to ashes.

"Yui" You whisper, his ear perks, he rushes towards you, cradling you gently in his arms against his chest.

"Stupid Y/n! Why did you do that" his voice were shaky and vulnerable, a complete opposite from his usual cold demeanor. You feel his lips pressed up to your forehead before feeling his head rested up to yours.

"it's okay baby, control your breathing. Kakushi will come"

"Breathe, can you do that for me, baby?" he murmured softly as he brushed your hair out of your face. Blood smeared on your face as his bloodied hand brushed against your delicate cheek. He didn't care; you were still beautiful in his eyes, an angel from the sky that he vowed but yet failed to protect. He had failed once again to protect someone he loved.

"Yui" You whisper, feeling the darkness pulling you in.

"mmm"
