mitsuri kanroji simply cannot resist sharing her food with you no matter how hungry she is. it’s like she has an instinct to make sure you’re well fed and happy. even if she is practically drooling over her meal, the moment she sees your puppy dog eyes or hears your stomach rumble she’ll eagerly split her portion in half or into thirds if need be.

giyuu tomioka makes it his #1 priority to check up on you, no matter what. wether it’s a quick text to see how your day is going or a surprise visit to make sure you’re okay. he’s always there, quietly looking out for you. even in the midst of his own battles and responsibilities you’re never far from his thoughts.

kyojuro rengoku tries his best to always make sure you’re warm. if you request to have his haori, it’s wrapped around you in seconds— or if you insist on sitting close to each other so you can share his body heat he doesn’t mind. he’s constantly attentive of your comfort, to him, it isn’t just to ward off the evil that is the chilly weather but it is also a tangible way for him to express his love and devotion toward you.

tengen uzui always ensures you don’t feel left out despite having three wives and his numerous responsibilities as a hashira. he constantly goes out of his way to include you in his life and make you feel valued. he listens to your thoughts and opinions, making it clear that you are an important aspect of his world. his larger than life personality make it hard for you to feel insecurity or jealousy— he’s able to create a unique bond with all of his loved one, including you.

Obanai Would 100% Take Mitsuri's Last Name If They Got Together/Married

(Manga Spoilers Below)

So recently I read the latest installment of @rubylarkspur22's KnY role-swap Sunlit Blossoms (which you guys should totally check out if you haven't yet because it's so good), and a conversation between Mitsuri and Obanai brought up a headcanon that I've had for a very long time about their relationship had they gotten together during canon.

If you've read the title, then you can probably guess what it is lol.

I know it's something extremely uncommon in many traditions, but honestly, I think it makes sense.

We know Obanai has so many negative feelings about himself and his family, especially when it comes to their relationship with the snake demon and their greed/selfishness. He views himself as being tainted by the blood he shares with his family and someone who doesn't deserve the chance he got to live when so many of his relatives were killed as a result of his escape.

So, wouldn't it make sense that when he found himself ready to pursue a serious relationship, if marriage were ever brought up, Obanai would be 100% open to taking a new last name?

It would be symbolic of him finally leaving his past behind him, seeing himself as more than the blood and biological family he grew up with. A major step toward being reborn as someone (in his mind) worthy of love. A chance to live the life he didn't get to before.

And knowing Mitsuri, who has an incredibly loving family and would do whatever it takes to help Obanai see that he is more than his past and negative perceptions of self, she would be fully supportive of him and whatever will help him to heal. Dare I say, I think she would most definitely suggest it if the topic ever came up.

Overall, I just really really love this idea! And I think it fits with ObaMitsu so well! <3

and after a few days of u taking care of him

with ur red face and soft stuttered words

he learns that you're not so bad

and he actually enjoys being around you

and being taken care of

won't voice this tho

but when Aoi comes in to give him his meds one day he gives himself away by accident

with a

"where's y/n?"

he's a blushing grumbling mess after that lol

after he discharged best believe the next time he gets injured he's not even going to the infirmary

he's hunting u tf down

nobody else gets to take care of him except YOU
