Tumblr media
“i-i don’t usually do this on the first date,” mingyu stutters as you kiss down his neck, nipping and biting at his skin. he lets out a shuddered breath because he can feel the marks you’re leaving. he swears you’re trying to spell your name and it’s making his cock throb in his already tight jeans.
you mumble into his skin, “i don’t either, but, fuck gyu… you’re so sexy, i couldn’t hold back..” your hands find their way under his shirt, feeling him up and moaning when he whimpers at the not-so-subtle touch.
gyu. you’ve called him by his nickname and you barely know him and, for some reason, it really turns him on.
he wanted to be a gentleman– wanted to walk you to your door, peck your cheek, and whisper goodnight– but your mutual attraction got the best of you. one thing led to another and you were kissing him outside of your door as soon as he’d agreed to your invitation to come inside.
you parted from his neck briefly to get inside so none of your neighbors would come outside to see the two of you eating each other alive. as soon as he’d stepped inside and closed the door, though, you pressed him right against it.
“we should move to–” he tries, but he’s interrupted by your lips. you slot them into his and your hands wander down his torso, down his abdomen, down till they reach his belt.
“what do you wanna do, mingyu~” you seductively whisper against his lips.
he shudders again, “anything. we can do whatever you want.”
you smirk, “you’re such a gentleman, gyu… you were so sweet at dinner. you picked me up, paid for my meal, walked me all the way to my door… i just wanna make you feel good.” you tell him, unbuckling his belt, but before you move to unbutton his jeans, you ask permission. “can i do that, gyu? can i make you feel good?”
you can’t be real.
“fuck, y-you don’t have to, i want you to feel good, too.” he replies, words breathy as he finds himself chasing your lips.
you moan just at his words, leaning in to give him what he wants.
you must’ve done something redeemable in your past life to have accidentally met mingyu in a cafe. he may or may not have been on his phone while walking out and you may or may not have bumped into him while he was leaving. needless to say, his piping hot coffee ended up all over you and him, staining his white button up and your cute new top in the process.
he’d asked if you were okay— if you were hurt or burned— profusely apologizing with a nervous stutter. when you finally noticed how beautiful the man before you was, you couldn’t even care about the irrevocable stain made on your shirt.
you ultimately ended the conversation with, “it’s okay, you can pay me back with a date maybe?” to which he gave you an incredulous look. when he realized you were serious, he nodded shyly and exchanged numbers with you.
and the date went swimmingly, truth be told. probably the best date you’d ever been on. he made you laugh like no other and you made him blush with your playful teasing and easygoing aura.  the chemistry was undeniable.
which brings you back to the now— his tongue shoved in your mouth and your fingers still fumbling to unbutton his jeans.
when you finally get them undone, you break from the kiss again and mingyu hates that you keep doing that, letting out a whine every time it happens.
“wanna suck you off.” you tell him bluntly and his eyes widen in shock, puffy lips parting a bit. “can i?”
“are you sure?” he asks, meekly– a bit too shy for a man of his caliber. “i can eat you out instead…”
your core pulses at the words because, fuck, that sounds good too. you have no doubt in your mind that mingyu is a god at eating pussy if it’s anything like the way he kisses you.
but, no, you’re adamant on getting his dick in your mouth, so you shake your head. “you can do that for me another time… i really wanna do this. you’ll let me, won’t you?”
and how the fuck could he say no to that? he nods his head letting out a shaky, “ok.”
you nearly squeal, excitedly dropping to your knees and as you hit the ground, your eyes are leveled with his alarmingly large bulge. you unzip his jeans, pulling the denim and cotton boxers down his thick thighs till his cock pops out, slapping against his clothed abdomen. mingyu hisses as his length is free from the confinement and met with the cool air circulating in your home.
and, honestly, you think you start drooling because holy. fucking. shit. he’s intimidatingly big.
no, big is an understatement. he’s huge. massive. likely to split your body right in half if he tried to put it inside of you. but, really, what did you expect? mingyu himself is big. you’ve dated many men who were bigger than you, some even bigger than him— but none of their dicks compared to the one currently twitching in front of you.
his leaky tip was flushed red and the veins running through his length were prominent. you could nearly feel the weight on your tongue and you hadn’t even touched him.
“you’re so big,” you whisper looking up at him and he swears he’s gone bright red at the comment.
“‘m not that big…” he mumbles, eyes averting from yours. if he looks at you on your knees any longer, he may cum untouched. “is it too much? i really don’t mind taking—“
you shake your head vigorously . if anything, you wanna take him down your throat even more. “it’s not… it’s not too much— i can take it.” you tell him and he inhales sharply because he’s fucking sure you could take it. “do girls not tell you you're big, though? why are you so humble about it?” you ask, hands slowly coming to wrap around his girth.
he gasps at the unexpected contact, eyes finally coming back to you to find what may be a faux pout etched into your lips.“t-they do… i just- i don’t think it’s that big.” he reiterates.
“well it is. you probably wouldn’t even fit inside me,” you admit, voice hushed. your mouth hovers over his tip, letting a trail of spit out to lubricate him.
he curses, cock twitching in your light grip. “fuck, really?” the thought of not fitting in your cunt because he’s just that big has his mind reeling– has him excited. he wants to see if what you’re saying is any true (it is).
you hum, nodding your head, slick hand effectively moving up and down his cock. “mmh, might break me without any prep– but you’ll make it fit, right, gyu? you’ll fuck me well?”
he lets out a gaspy moan, throwing his head back. “yeah, baby, i’ll make it fit– i’ll fuck you so well. shit, i’ll do anything you want.” his parroted words come out breathy once again.
you exhale sharply, cunt clenching around nothing at his words and the thought of taking his cock. your hands quicken their pace before you move to wrap your lips around his blushing tip.
this man will give you anything you want and you’re willing to do the same for him. men like mingyu are nearly impossible to come by and you want to keep him all to yourself, so if that means choking on his dick till you can’t breathe, so be it.
you move your mouth down his cock and before you can reach the base, he’s already hitting the back of your throat.
right above you, mingyu is losing it. he feels the way you constrict around him and it’s already taking him out. he hadn’t expected to be so sensitive, but he just can’t handle how warm and wet your mouth is and he definitely can’t handle how tight your throat is. he can only imagine how much tighter your cunt must be.
“fuuuck,” he groans, hands flying to your head, tangling his fingers into your hair. “you’re so good.”
the subtle praise heads straight to your core and you can’t stop the moan that vibrates his entirety. a pitchy whine rips from his throat and he fortuitously thrusts into yours causing tears to prick at your eyes as you let out a strident gag.
he gasps out an apology, “‘m sorry.” he panting relentlessly and if you didn’t know better, you’d think he was about to release into your mouth. when you look up at him with your mouth full and tears clouding your vision, you see that he isn’t really sorry. “‘m so sorry, angel, fuck, ‘m sorry.” he echos over and over with his face pinched in pleasure, yet his hips won’t stop bucking into your mouth.
you try your best to breathe, but his massive cock makes it hard as it fills your mouth and throat completely. his hands holding your head in place makes it impossible to move, but he sounds so pretty whining and desperately moaning out your name– you don’t even want to back off of him.
your hands find his bare thighs and you grip them for dear life, fingernails digging into the flesh, sure to draw blood if he doesn't ease up any second now. he hisses at the feeling, ripping you off him with a tug on your locks.
“need to fuck you now,” he groans, his cock throbbing angrily at the loss of contact. “can’t cum like that, ‘s too embarrassing.” he picks you up, making you stand on your feet. he notices how your mascara runs and your lipstick is smudged, but somehow, you’re still the prettiest thing in the world.
your ego naturally inflates at the comment and you smile cheekily. “i would’ve been flattered if you came that quick.” the words come out raspy thanks to the way his cock bruised your throat.
he chuckles breathily while pulling up his pants, “i‘m sure you get guys that cum too fast a lot. especially with a mouth like that. ”
you shrug, taking his hand and dragging him to your bedroom on the opposite side of the main entrance. “sometimes, but none are as pretty as you.” you tell him truthfully as you guide him inside quickly, shutting the door behind you. “or as big.”
your face to face with him and he whispers, “yeah?”
you tug him close to you by his sweater. “yeah,” you whisper against his lips. “dunno how you haven’t been locked down yet, you’re so attractive ‘n sweet– and… y’know, you’re huge.”
“just waiting for the right person to come along, i guess.” he whispers back, hands finding purchase on your waist. “think i’ve found them, though.”
your heart skips a beat and your breathing picks up, “yeah?” you echo breathily back at him.
“fuck yes,” his grip tightens, pulling your body flush to his. you feel his cock pressing into your abdomen and you let out a whimper at both the coded confession and the way your pussy throbs at his touch. “c’mere, baby.”
you melt at the pet name, closing the gap between the two of you. you count back to how many times you’ve kissed him tonight and you’re almost scared that you’re addicted to the feeling of his lips on yours. the thought quickly dissipates when mingyu begins to pull your dress up by the hem, though. the two of you walk towards the bed, mouths still attached till you fall on the plush comforter, mingyu toppling over you.
you giggle into his mouth at his body crushing yours. “gyu.”
“sorry.” he scrambles, standing up so you can get your dress over your head. you throw the fabric to the ground, leaving your body adorned in a pretty, white set. typically, you wouldn’t dare pull out one of your favorite sets for anyone– especially not for a first date– but you think mingyu is the most beautiful– most deserving– man to exist. he should get to see the set.
and he does see it. he can’t stop the way his eyes ogle your lace covered body. “you’re so beautiful.” he pants out much like he’s in heat.
and he just might be. he quickly and clumsily kicks off his shoes and pulls his pants back down, revealing his aching cock to you again. you curse to yourself when his shirt comes off shortly after, his big chest and toned abdomen on full display.
god really took his time with kim mingyu.
he doesn’t waste any time, practically lunging at you and hovering over you with blown out pupils. “look like an angel– fuck, you’re so pretty.”
you pout, feeling your brain turn to mush at the endless compliments that seem to flow past his swollen lips. the dull ache and sporadic pulse in your cunt remind you how needy you are, though, so you express that to him by bucking your hips up.
“gyu…” you whimper. “want it so bad.”
he groans, hands pinning your hips down and grounding you to the bed, “i have to prep you, baby– you said it yourself, ‘m not gonna fit.”
you shake your head ceaselessly while squirming in his grip, “no, i don’t care, just give it to me or else i might die.”
“but you said–”
you interrupt him before he can say anymore. “give it to me… please.” the plea comes out hushed and your words are laced with the utmost desire. so much so that it’s almost impossible for mingyu to deny you. you can see some doubt lingering on his face so you tell him exactly what he needs to hear. “‘m so fucking wet for you, mingyu… i’m sure it’ll just slip in– it’s okay. you won’t hurt me.”
he shakily exhales before nodding. “o-okay…” his fingers nimbly tug at the soaked panties, signaling you to raise your hips so he can roll them off your legs.
mingyu’s pulse thumps erratically in his ears as soon as he sees just how wet you are. your pussy glistens under the soft lamp light and he wants a taste– to drown in your pussy– because he just knows you’re fucking delicious.
“wanna taste you…” he moans and your walls clench around nothing, a fresh wave of arousal trickling out of you.
you teeth catch your bottom lip to stop the whine bubbling in the back of your throat.“next time…” you croak. “just need your cock inside of me right now.”
he nods his head at the promise of a next time– he’ll hold you to that. “condom?”
“iud and ‘m clean,” you confirm, knees knocking against your chest as you pull them up.
“same.” he says mindlessly as he grips the back of your thighs and spreads you open. “well, i don’t have an iud, but i’m clean, too.”
he’s cute, you think before you remind yourself that this cute, big man is about to absolutely wreck you.
you smile, “good,”
one of his hand wraps around his throbbing length, running his flushed tip between your soaked folds to collect wetness. you whine at the contact, praying that he finally stops this unintentional teasing.
when he drags his cock to your drooling hole, he asks, “are you sure?”
your eyes squeeze shut and nod, “uh-huh, please.”
he lets out a wobbly sigh before pushing his fat tip into you, biting his lip as he watches the way your cunt stretches open to swallow him up. you gasp, back arching at the burning sensation in your core. you really have never taken anyone so big.
he stops only half way when he’s met with strong resistance. “talk to me, angel,” he whispers to mask his wavering voice. “are you okay?”
you mewl, “g-gyu…”
“baby, do you need me to pull out? you’re so fucking tight,” he grunts, his cock twitching between the gummy walls that suffocate him.
your hands grip the sheets under you and you shake your head, letting out the most incoherent sentence ever. “n-no, just– slow, go slow.”
but you’re completely coherent to mingyu. “relax, pretty. ease up for me– i want it to feel good.” he coaxes, voice soft.
his attempt in helping you relax proves to be futile when you clamp tighter around him. the action elicits a moan from the both of you.
“j-just fuck me– please, just move.”
he gives you a weary look, but does what you ask for anyway. he pushes past the resistance, sheathing himself further inside of you. and, fuck, you swear you’re just about to cum when he’s finally bottomed out, both of your hips flushed against each other. you’re impaled on his fat cock, stretched open and completely full of him.
he’s very hyper-aware of how you're squeezing him while he’s balls deep inside of you and his mind can’t stop reeling. he moans out your name and a few curses, holding himself there till you adjust to his size.
and you’ve gone dumb at this point, unable to make a comprehensible thought about anything other than the cock you’re split open on. “s-so big. oh my, god, mingyu– you’re so big.” you almost sound like you’re overexaggerating, but it’s true. you can feel him everywhere.
he can’t stop the way he jolts at the comment, inadvertently driving himself into you. you sob at the doing, wrapping your legs around his waist.
“shit, sorry. still good?”
“mhm, ‘s good– ‘m good.” you tell him as the uncomfortable burn slowly melts to pleasure. “you can move, baby.”
mingyu groans, hands coming back to grip the backs of your knees pushing them against your chest before he slowly pulls out and pushes back in.
you let out the prettiest moan, his name tumbling past your pouty lip and, now, he thinks he’s lost it.
no, he’s definitely lost it because his speed quickens without a second thought. he drives his cock in and out of you, listening to the way you cry and mewl mixed with the sound of his balls slapping against your wet cunt.
“Y/N, you’re so fucking good. pussy’s so fucking good– takin’ me so well,” he nearly cries, gripping your flesh tighter. “god, you’re mine now.”
his?
it shouldn’t turn you on as much as it does, but the way your stomach flips and walls tighten verifies that it does.
“and you’re mine.” you moan in response.
and the reassurance that you want him to be yours has him lurching in to sloppily kiss you, moaning into your mouth while he keeps a rapid tempo. you let him swallow your whines and your arms envelope him, pulling him closer.
his cock finds your sweet spot and when you gasp, he knows to keep hitting it with precision.
“gyu! gyu, i’m gonna cum.” you warn against his lips.
he growls, thrusts increasing in pace as he’s adamant on getting you to your high. “cum for me, baby– cum all over my fucking cock.”
his words and impressive speed trigger your orgasm. the tightness in your tummy dissolves as you completely unravel under his big, buff body. you seize, back arched and head thrown to the pillow as you cum and clench around him uncontrollably.
“that’s it, fuck,” he moans, continuing his assault on your poor pussy.  “you’re gorgeous, angel, so fucking pretty when you cum.”
the onslaught of pleasure is almost too much, body beginning to shake in overstimulation. “w-wan’ you to cum,” you slur, a cry following the words. “please please please, cum on me!” you beg.
and mingyu is at your beck and call. he knows he’s  just met you, but he’d do anything you asked of him because the grip you (and your pussy) have him in is nothing short of insane.
that’s why he’s quick to pull out, releasing you from his bruising grip to fist his arousal-drenched cock up and down. he throws his head back and moans out your name again as he releases hot, white ribbons of cum onto your stomach.
after a few minutes of panting and coming down from his high, he chuckles airly. “i’m so glad i spilled my coffee on you, if i’m being completely honest.”
you giggle, hiding your face in your hands, “it was a cute top, though.”
“well, you look cute without it on.” he smiles, leaning down to pepper your face with soft pecks.
“mingyu!” you blush, playfully slapping his bare chest. “be serious!”
“i am!” he laughs. “speaking of being serious… when’s our next date?”
you hum, “well, it depends. when are you free and what do you wanna do?”
there’s a playful glint in his eyes when he looks at you, “i’m free now… and y’know how you said i can eat you out next time?”
your breath gets caught in your throat, but you nod your head remembering the promise you’d made.
“well… what do you say? can i treat you to a second date? say… right now?”
“i’d love nothing more.”

When I saw this https://twitter.com/tenyawanyad/status/1401561345539993600?s=19 , I thought of Hange in your fic who works as undercover to get closer to Levi but ends up being asked by Levi to bring him to Erwin. Will read all your other works until you update that one!
the second part (kinda?) to this!
God, Hange hated waiting.
Always had, ever since she was but a small child with skinned knees and mismatched pigtails. She didn't wear pigtails anymore, opting for a more practical ponytail, and her knees were only occasionally skinned, but that feeling, that sense of powerlessness when all you can do is watch the minutes trickle by, not knowing what to expect, having no way to prevent the possible catastrophe... It always led to a lump in her throat that was too big to swallow.
And now, after that gaze Erwin gave her, the one that said we'll talk about it later, she felt her insides twist themselves in a tight, painful knot.
It's been almost an hour, a full fucking hour since Erwin had thrown the door to his office shut, inviting the damn thief inside with him.
An hour and they were yet to come out. Was Erwin still alive?
Was the thief still alive?
Hange listened carefully, but she didn't hear any signs of fighting or struggle. She knew Erwin, though. He could kill a man in ten different ways without creating a single sound.
And that thief. Hange witnessed firsthand how skillful he was.
How deft his fingers were, how firm yet soft was his touch, how-
No. Wrong train of thought, Hange.
Distraction, distraction, she had to find a distraction. Thankfully, she didn't have to look for too long. Distraction came in a face of Mike, who leaned against the wall next to her.
"The big man is still in here?" he asked, pointing his chin at the door of Erwin's office.
"Yep," Hange replied, boring holes in that damned door. What was going behind it? And what was going to happen when it opens?
"Had fun?" Mike murmured, looking at her beneath his long blonde hair.
Did she have fun? With that awful thief? With terrible, foul-mouthed thief who had no manners and with the most beautiful eyes Hange had ever seen? And strong, muscular arms she wanted to be buried in? And that toned, chiseled chest that-
No. Wrong thought again.
"Not particularly," Hange gritted, huffing in annoyance. The thief was an enemy, he humiliated her and could have even killed her. She shouldn't find that attractive. Her stomach shouldn't feel so warm, her heart shouldn't speed up just at the thought of that short jerk. And yet...
"Sucks to be interrupted, huh?" Mike hummed.
Hange's eyes widened. What the, how did he-
"Erwin wired you," Mike shamelessly explained.
His shin was kicked right after that.
"Bastards!" Hange shouted, hitting his arm, she was aiming for the head, but that damned tall jerk... "You two-"
"It was Erwin's idea!"
"Awful, old-"
"I'm only a year older than you!"
"Perverted assholes with no sense of shame!"
Hange finally reached his head, giving it a smack.
"No sense of shame?" Mike lifted an eyebrow, grinning despite Hange's vicious assault. "You are the one who tried to sleep with a target."
"I didn't-" Hange scoffed, pointedly ignoring the blush she felt spreading through her cheeks. "I didn't try to sleep with him. It was just a part of elaborate plan."
"Sure," Mike, the ever asshole patted her shoulder. "Whatever makes you sleep at night, Hans."
God, what an ass-
Mike was saved from another onslaught of punches by the deep rumble of Erwin's voice.
"Come inside, Hange," he said, and, oh god, did he always sound so ominous?
Hange gulped and nodded, obediently trailing after Erwin like a naughty high schooler.
The inside of Erwin's office was dark, a lone lamp on his desk being the only source of light. It made Hange feel just a little more nervous, just a little more reluctant to hear what Erwin got to say.
The shadows that danced across the walls and the deep crease between his eyebrows gave Hange yet another hint that this conversation wouldn't be overly pleasant.
That feeling increased, mixing with spiky, hot anger, when Hange's eyes had finally adjusted to the darkness and she saw that she and Erwin weren't alone in the room.
The damned thief, Levi as he had called himself, was here with them.
He was leaning against the wall with his hands crossed on his chest, looking extremely broody, a little mysterious and unbelievably, unfairly attractive.
Hange wanted to kick him. She wanted to grab his soft black hair, bring his sexy body closer to her and then kick him as hard as she could manage.
And when all was said and done, when she finished paying him back for the insult and offense, she'd kiss him. Until there was no breath left in either of them.
Then, she'd kick him once more.
"Hange, sit down, please," Erwin spoke up, his eyes boring into Hange like he knew exactly what was going on inside her head.
Now, Hange - Hange obviously wasn't dumb. She was a little careless at times, sometimes she could be hot-headed and reckless, but she wasn't dumb. She knew that causing a scene in front of their enemy wouldn't end well.
But, by gods, she wanted to cause that scene so much, she was dying to do it.
Erwin's piercing gaze was making her reconsider, though.
It was as they say - the annoying, sexy thiefs come and go, but her strict bosses are forever.
After making sure that she sent the thief the meanest and darkest of her looks, Hange managed to somewhat quell her anger. It wasn't enough to make her forget about it completely - especially when thief had no reaction to her whatsoever - but it was enough to let Hange listen to what Erwin was going to say.
She'd deal with the thief later, when he was out of the safety of Erwin's office.
Sitting behind his large, mahogany desk, Erwin cleared his throat.
"I asked you both to come here to discuss something," he began, putting chin on his hands. "Your last mission yielded unexpected, but largely satisfying results, so..."
Your last mission? Did Erwin mean her mission, or did he...?
Hange felt a little dizzy as she gave it all some thought.
Erwin couldn't do such a thing, could he? He would never do this to her, of all people, he wasn't capable of-
Hange wanted to laugh. Wanted to slap herself for being so naive and then laugh at her stupidity.
What was she even thinking about? Erwin, the sly, manipulative bastard, was more than capable. He could, he would and he did do this to her.
What a wicked, brilliant man. Hange was so fortunate that he was on her side.
The thief, however... Was Erwin really ready to give him his trust? What did the thief do to deserve it?
"I have a new mission for you," Erwin's voice broke Hange out of her reverie, made her jump and gawk at him. "For both of you," he clarified, forcing Hange's eyes to widen even more. "Levi here already knows about one Nicholas Lovof..." the thief visibly tensed at the mention of that name, his jaw tightening and the scowl on his face growing even darker. Obviously, there was some possibly juicy story with the thief and that Lovof involved. Hange longed to know it, she Erwin wouldn't budge, but Mike... especially drunk Mike... there a chance it could work out. "He knows something about us, something that made him send an assasin after me."
His expression didn't change, Erwin didn't even look at Levi, but oh... the tone of his voice, the slight, barely noticable irritation told Hange everything she needed.
Not just a thief then, eh?
"I need you to infiltrate his office, find everything he has on us. And do it discreetly, of course."
"And how should we go about doing it?" Hange asked. Usually Erwin had a plan she had to regiliously follow, where every possible complication was accounted for. Wasn't he going to give her one this time? Why?
A ghost of a smirk appeared on Erwin's stoic features. "Today I witnessed just how creative you can get, Hange. I'm sure you can manage on your own this time. Besides," the smirk became just a little more apparent, his complecency more and more infuriating. "You'll have Levi with you. I trust him to watch your back."
What an insolent, cocky fucker.
"You may go now," Erwin hurried to say, before the volcano called Hange erupted. "Your mission starts in two days. Until then... you have time to get to know each better."
God, Hange wanted to kick him too. She wanted to wipe that smug grin from his face, wanted to ruin that immaculate haircut and tear his eyebrows one hair at a time.
But the thief... Hange wanted to get her hands on him first. So she could simply kick him, obviously.
Hange swiftly rose to her feet, following the thief out. Naturally, she completely ignored the hearty laugh that came from Erwin's lips.
The thief walked fast, faster than Hange thought he would, considering his height, but her legs were longer and she still managed to catch up with him, even with her stilettos on.
Once she did, she looked around, making sure that the hallway was empty. It was, which was perfect for what Hange had planned.
Of course, there were still security cameras all around them, but Hange didn't care about them. Mike and Erwin had already heard enough. Well, now, Hange was going to make him see something too.
Perhaps, it would even teach the old geezers a thing or two.
"Erwin said we have to know each other better..." Hange spoke with a sly grin. It grew wider, more wicked when she saw Levi draw a sharp breath. "How about we start right now?"
The thief froze for no more than a moment.
It was all Hange needed to seize his shoulders and press him against the wall. She invaded his personal space instantly, not giving him a chance to retaliate or throw her off.
She started with his cheek, cupping it gently before moving lower, tracing her long fingers across his sharp jaw, then equally sharp clavicle.
The thief's breathing increased as she did so. He didn't attempt to break free, didn't try to get away or overpower Hange. He didn't even move, just stood there, staring at Hange with wide eyes.
Hange met his gaze, smiling when she saw that his pupils were already wide. She almost laughed from delight when her hand traveled down his chest, just a touch away from his pants, and Levi visibly shivered.
"It's late already," she purred, putting her hands on his waist. She started to slowly sink to her knees, lowering her hands to his thighs.
Something that very much resembled a moan escaped from his lips, as he stared down at Hange.
She moved closer still, just a breath away from where she knew Levi wanted.
Her grin slowly turned from seductive to victorious, as his fingers found their way into her hair.
"It's late," she repeated, one hand leaving his side to grasp at her own ankle. She fiddled with a strap of her left stiletto, feigning great interest in it. "That's why we should get some sleep."
She threw Lev's hands off her, standing up to her feet and stepping out of his arms. "We have a training tomorrow morning."
The thief's face was priceless - the incomprehension, the shock, the annoyance - Hange delighted in it all.
And that quiet sound - the angry groan, god, Hange wanted to set it as her ringtone.
She evened their score, and, damn, was she ecstatic that she did.
Even as she walked away, Hange felt the burning gaze that followed after her. She couldn't stop giggling all the way to her place, still high on her victory.
Erwin wanted Levi to watch her back, and while Hange wasn't yet ready to trust him to do that, she had a feeling, well... she had a feeling she'd enjoy it like blazes.

Hard Pass P3 (Levi X Reader)
Tumblr media
Synopsis: Levi is forced out of his comfy dorm room and in a strange twist of events right into your arms at a college party.
Levi was relieved for the silence as he clicked away at his keyboard. Mike had gone to his only late class of the entire week. Which meant Levi could actually study in his room.
The scent of tea and the small aroma diffuser on his desk as well as the open window in front of him welcomed a nice calming smell that was normally masked by Mike's gym bags and sweaty clothes. Which reminded Levi of the laundry he would have to do soon.
He pressed his tea cup to his lips feeling a twinge of irritation as he was interrupted by two knocks on the door. He looked down at the time. 6:15. A little too early for Mike to be back complaining that he'd forgotten his keys.
Then it was probably one of his girls complaining that she'd left her shit in the room. If Levi had a dollar for the amount of times that had happened he could pay for a new roommate.
The next couple knocks were a bit louder. "Levi? It's Y/N.."
Y/N?!
His face practically exploded. He stood far too fast because just as quickly he was flopping over his stupid desk chair and hitting the floor with a hard thud. He gasped audibly tugging at his knee and gritting his teeth.
"Levi? Are you ok?" Came her voice again.
He pulled himself up with a huff and staggered over to the door. Unsurprisingly he had to limp. With a quick turn of the lock he yanked open the door right into his forehead. God fucking dammit.
He groaned in a mix of fury and disgust partially because he'd idiotically stood so close when opening the door and partially because he hated the stupid inanimate object.
"Oh my god! Are you ok?" Y/N gasped, squeezing herself inside and shutting the door behind her. "Let me see? Did you hit your eye?" She asked
Her fingers were so delicate as she brushed aside his hands. So close.. Her thumb traced the already appearing red spot on his forehead. Soo close.. She brushed his hair to the side cupping his cheeks to gently reposition his head towards the light. Close....
She breathed out a little chuckle. "It's probably gonna bruise."
Levi barely registered her words. Occupied with her beautiful eyes illuminating moonlight and the dim lights in his room. His lips parted ever so slightly. When her hands fell away he gulped and jerked his head back. Trying to find literally anything to take the edge off.
"I'll.. go find you an ice pack, ok?" Y/N began already heading for the door.
"K-knee.." Levi tried and mentally cursed himself.
"Huh?" She asked, turning back.
"M-my.. t-two please.."
Her smile was gentle, "Two ice packs. Got it." And with a little wave she was out the door. Her lingering touch still causing heat to pool in Levi's chest.
~~~~
"Aww sweetie, are you sure you're ok?"
He was not. Definitely not. One of her hands was on his uninjured knee and the other was brushing his hair away from the ice pack. He didn't even know if he'd breathed in the last 20 minutes. His brain echoing the word sweetie.
The two of you had been sat on his bed as he uncomfortably laid his head back on the wall. Trying and failing to not fixate on your touch. Every brush of your fingertips was downright intoxicating.
"You look kinda red. Do you wanna try seeing a doctor or something?"
"N-no.." It was barely audible but he knew she heard when she nodded.
If there was a hole nearby he would crawl into it and never come out. Though he also didn't wanna move as the fear of making this situation worse for himself stayed ever present.
"Let me see?" He partially removed the ice pack from his forehead, spine tingling over the way she sucked in a breath. "You should be more careful."
Levi didn't answer. Just squeezed his legs closer together and sighed. In all the time he'd been in this room he'd never hit himself in the face with the door. Just what kind of power did this girl have over him.
"I know because my little cousin has done stuff like this but you should put some cream on the bump so that it doesn't get redder and it'll go down faster."
Little cousin? That wasn't a fair comparison. Little kids do stupid things cause they're kids. Did she think about him that way? Uggghhhh.
He was yanked from his thoughts by her hand coming down to squeeze his. "Are you positive you're ok? Do you need anything else?"
"I-I'm fine.."
Just as Levi said that his attention was brought to the door. Mike had barely stepped into the room and he was already grinning like a fucking idiot.
"Well, hello." He greeted, stepping closer. "Levi, you didn't tell me you were inviting anyone over. Especially not a pretty girl."
Y/N's chuckle was nervous, "Hello, you must be Levi's roommate." She stuck her hand out which Mike immediately took placing one hand on top of their joined hands.
"And you must be Y/N." He said "I've heard so much about you."
His teasing was met with a glare that could slice concrete. If Levi had known Mike was gonna come straight back to the room he definitely would've gotten rid of Y/N sooner.
"Oh? Really?" Y/N turned to look at Levi behind her. "You told him about me?" It was a split second thing but Levi could've sworn her features softened.
"Oh, no I meant Hange." Mike replied
"Oh."
Oh? Was she disappointed? It sounded disappointed? Did she want Levi to talk about her?
"But at no point did Hange tell me you were this pretty. Neither did Levi honestly, I'm kinda disappointed."
Alright that's enough of that. Levi stood. Placing the ice packs on his bed.
"You should probably leave." He gritted his teeth at how harshly it came out.
Now Mike was letting go of Y/N's hand. "Oh wait! I came to get my phone. Hange said you had it."
Levi blinked. He'd almost forgotten about that. It had been sitting on his desk since yesterday. His knee was screeching in absolute horror as he staggered his way over to his desk.
"What the hell happened to you?" Mike asked, clearly trying to hold back a snicker.
"Aw, it was an accident. I scared him."
Levi returned with the phone shooting daggers into Mike who pretended not to notice.
"Thank you." She breathed a sigh of relief.
"Y-yeah.."
"Did you put your number into it?"
Levi's face perked up a little. "Yes."
"Ok, then I'll text you later." She assured, brushing her finger tips over his forehead once again. "Goodnight boys." And with those last words she took off.
"Faking an injury?! I didn't think you had it in you!" Mike celebrated as soon as she was gone.
"Dickhead." Levi scoffed.
"Hey, is that any way to talk to the best friend who just confirmed your biggest fear moot?" Mike plopped down on his bed with a playful huff.
Levi flopped down into his desk chair, staring up at the ceiling. "One you're definitely not my best friend especially after that shit. And two I'm not you I don't fake shit to get girls."
"That would totally be hurtful if it wasn't true." Mike shrugged "I meant the fact that she doesn't have a boyfriend."
Levi practically flipped himself out of his chair. "How do you assume that."
"Simple. Hange told me about her ex boyfriend. By the way it was probably that guy that took her from the library that day. And Hange says that a lot of guys find Y/N attractive. Because of this her ex got too overprotective and they broke up. But he had no reason to be because Y/N would always tell people she had a boyfriend or at least around Hange she did."
Levi stared at his barely drunk tea. The liquid probably cold after being left on the table so long. So she had dated that guy.. He had been so tall and pretty muscular looking, was that her type? She didn't seem like she was going to get back together with him.. but he was still around.
"All I'm saying is she seems loyal. You better snatch her up before someone else does or she gets back together with her ex."
His attention was drawn away by his phone softly buzzing on his table. He pressed the on button, swiping his pin and clicking the notification as it popped up.
Hey Levi, it's Y/N.
Listen ik you said you're ok but I bought you some cream just in case. I'll bring it to you tm ;)
His heart fluttered and ached remembering her touch and her kind words. If he didn't full blown know Mike was staring at him he would probably hug his phone.
~~~~
Too much time had passed and suddenly the whole school was on break. Levi had been dreading this. Not because he was a workaholic like Mike claimed but because he knew Hange was gonna drag him away and make him vacation.
And no form of vacation could possibly be more relaxing for him than curling up in bed with some books, doing some casual cleaning, and drinking tea with light music playing at all times. Mike was definitely going home during this time so it'd be the perfect way to spend his break.
But Hange's family owned a couple lodges and that meant another year of begging for Levi to come ski and freeze his fingers and toes off.
"Come on, Levi!"
"Absolutely not."
"Erwin!" Hange called to him where he sat on Levi's bed, scrolling through his phone.
"You knew he was going to say no." Erwin replied
"Which is why I brought you to help me make my case." Hange complained
"You clearly made an error in judgment then." Erwin retorted
Mike laughed from where he was laying on his own bed. "Might as well give it up Hange, Levi is just too stubborn about this. We all know he wants to be close to all my junk while I'm gone cause he'll miss me."
"I wouldn't hesitate to tell your stalker where you're going over break." Levi spat
"She'll figure it out anyway. She's a high class stalker. And I'm not her first." The room fell in uncomfortable silence but Mike just leaned back giving his full attention to his phone screen.
"That disturbing remark aside.." Erwin began shaking his head. "I'm going."
"And that's supposed to change my mind? How'd Hange force you into it?"
"It may stun you but I chose to go through with this all on my own. There are studies that claim it's good for the mind to get away from normality during breaks or away from your comfort zone to properly clear your mind. It'll also help you make less mistakes when classes resume."
Hange smiled, "Yes, that's exactly what I was thinking."
Levi rolled his eyes. "If I go you can't beg me next year." Hange's loud shrill screeching made Levi's heart drop out of his ass.
"Finally!!" Hange screamed in excitement as she wrapped her arms around Levi's neck.
"Get off already! You're such a pest!"
And that was how Levi ended up on a train for almost three long hours with Hange blabbering on about nothing and Erwin sat in the seat across from the two of them listening to podcasts while staring out the window of his own very sad music video.
And all of the crap Erwin had spewed about getting away being more relaxing proved to be completely from the ass as Levi shivered along wrapped in two scarves, a pair of gloves, his long green coat that fell around his ankles and a winter hat plopped over his ears.
"Walk faster Levi! Is that the best your little legs can do?!" Hange called, somehow racing her way up the slope with three bags. One that wasn't even hers
Levi grunted in irritation. Not only were they walking up a hill but it was covered in snow so deep that every step felt like he was falling.
"Do you need help?" Erwin asked, not waiting for Levi to respond as he hoisted the overnight bag off his shoulders.
Levi just huffed. "I swear Hange was made in a lab."
"As possible as that is, Hange was basically raised in the snow so this is the equivalent of dust for her." Erwin replied as the two of them trudged along.
"Her parents own multiple ski lodges why the hell did we go to the one up a fucking hill."
"The other closest one was more than 6 hours away. Did you really wanna be stuck on a train with Hange for more than 6 hours?"
Levi just groaned as they finally walked through the surprisingly big doors of the huge ski lodge. Hange raced over to the front desk as Erwin slipped onto the lobby couch, followed by Levi who was still kicking snow off his boots and his second bag.
"What's in that bag?" Erwin questioned, nodding to the luggage Levi had yanked over his lap.
He exhaled loudly giving the bag a couple soft pats. "Clothes, extra boots, extra gloves, two bottles of cleaner and a small box of tea as well as some light reading material."
"When are you gonna have time to read? We're going to be skiing most of the time we're here."
"If you think I'm getting on a ski lift you have less working brain cells than Hange."
Erwin smirked with a roll of his eyes, "Alrighty then, what's in this bag."
"All of the shit that didn't fit in this bag, toothpaste, toothbrush, cologne, extra pairs of underwear-"
"Woah, Levi you can't just talk about your underwear in a public space." Erwin chuckled at his own joke.
Levi rolled his eyes, "It's bad for your health to hang around Mike as often as you do."
"How is it you're not dead yet then?" Erwin retorted
Hange had been chatting up the receptionist for almost 15 minutes, bouncing up and down in front of the desk and indulging him in the stories of their travel up here. The man just gave her a sheepish grin and honestly Levi felt a little bad for the man but a little less when he thought about how it wasn't his problem anymore.
Moblit.. his name tag read. Somehow Hange's mannerism seemed more crazed with him if that was even possible.
"Yeah.. it has been so long." He heard the man say. You got.. taller..
"We're never getting out of this lobby are we?" Erwin sighed as the two continued to chatter on. Levi and Erwin stared as Hange continued on about her car with a surprising amount of engagement from the other party. "You know they kind of remind me of you and-"
"Hey, Hange!" Erwin cut himself off as a brown haired girl that Levi instantly recognized hopped down each step, a bald boy following her. And Levi believed he remembered them from Y/N's stories as Connie and Sasha who he remembered from the party.
"Hange, what're you doing here?" He asked as the brown haired girl gave her a hug.
"My family owns the lodge so I brought Erwin and Levi for the break!" Hange said, pulling Connie into side hug that he immediately reciprocated.
"Oh god! Why didn't you tell me your plans for break? Jean would've driven all of us up here and you wouldn't have had to waste gas."
Hange just shook her head. "It's quite alright I was already out of gas so we just took the train up here."
"You didn't put gas in your car again?" Connie asked
"Wait, if you guys came then does that mean Y/N is here?" Hange asked completely dodging Connie's question.
At her name Levi bounced out of his seat. Almost launching himself into the spot next to Erwin. Pulling his hat over his eyes and sliding his back as far into the chair as he could.
"What's up with you?" Erwin questioned
"I embarrassed myself last time I was with Y/N.."
"What? Didn't she buy you cream like a month ago?"
"Y-yeah." Levi shimmied his feet together as he slid further down in his seat.
Erwin's chuckle next to him made him grimace. "I know you don't really get it Levi. But uh, making an ass out of yourself in front of your crush is the first real hurdle to knowing you've got it bad."
"Shut up.."
"It could've been worse.. You could've accidentally injured her. Or got caught by the loud mouth in your class while writing her first name and your last name in a notebook."
"Sounds like a personal story.." Levi replied, inching the hat off his eyes to look up at Erwin.
Erwin scoffed, "Point is it happens." He said with a roll of his eyes.
Levi let out a little snicker that instantly got caught in his throat. It had never occurred to him that he'd actually paid attention to the romance movies he'd seen a hundred times with his mother. But now that Y/N was walking down the stairs it was like a scene from all of those movies combined.
Her smile just as warm as always. Turtleneck sweater hugging her features along with dark blue jeans and brown boots. Each step felt slower than the last as if everything in this particular room had been put on the slowest speed imaginable.
The butterflies in his stomach swarmed like they were all chasing after one specific thing. Everytime she appeared somehow it was different.
"We're still going skiing today right?" Connie questioned as Y/N stopped on the last stair.
"If Jean's up to it sure." She replied, her cheeks flushed like she'd just walked in from outside.
"Well this is gonna be a fun weekend." Erwin said but Levi didn't even register his words. His heart stammering in his chest. "Go make a fool out of yourself." Erwin nudged
"Hey Jean! Come on!" Connie said
"Yeah, Jean I'm hungry!" Called Sasha
Levi's heart stopped, his chest crumbling in on itself. The same guy from before.. just as soon a loud crash sounded and everyone turned all at once.
"Oh god are you ok?!" Y/N was the first person by Hange's side followed by Moblit from behind the counter.
Hange let out a laugh, wincing as she pulled herself up with Moblit and Y'N's help.
"I'll be ok. Just took a little spill." She continued to laugh.
Erwin was soon standing by her side. "Are you sure, you're alright? Your face is super red.."
A momentary lapse in Hange's facial features made Erwin step back a little. "Shut up Erwin." She huffed
"You fell on your side. You should rest a little bit." Moblit said, coming closer. "Just.. in case."
"Ok.." Hange replied
Y/N seemed to relax at this information. Her gaze immediately falling on Levi surprisingly. He really hoped he didn't outwardly wince.
"Hi, Levi." She spoke plainly giving Erwin a small greeting as well before her, Connie, Sasha, and Jean were leaving the lobby.
Hange and Erwin unsurprisingly crowded into Levi's room about five minutes after the whole ordeal. But Levi couldn't even bring himself to wipe one thing down like he'd wanted to. He just laid still on the bed, eyes planted to the ceiling.
Surprisingly Hange had also stayed silent. Her eyes shut where she laid next to Levi.
"I can't believe you broke the handle on my luggage Hange." Erwin called still sat on the floor holding his luggage in one hand and the handle in the other. Pressing the broken part of the handle to his bag as if it'd be that simple to fix.
"Now what am I supposed to do?"
"It broke my fall Erwin. Be grateful."
"For what exactly?"
"I don't know!"
Levi blinked, his gaze falling on Hange for the first time since she took that spill in the lobby. Her hands were crossed over her stomach, thumbs rubbing the spot where she fell.
"Are you alright or not?" Levi questioned
"I'm fine."
"Ok, I know why Levi's upset but why're you?" Erwin chimed up
"What's Levi upset about?"
"What else? Y/N."
"Uggggghhh Levvviiiii why don't you just ask her out already?" Hange said
Levi sat up on the bed pulling his feet into his chest. Shoes long gone, pushed up against the wall as soon as they'd walked into the room.
"I'm not talking about this shit anymore this week."
"Levi, if we're staying here all of this week and next then chances are she's also staying here all week and next. Which means somewhere in here is a perfect opportunity to-"
"Get in her bed." Hange interrupted
"Or something less crass." Erwin suggested "You did pack condoms in your emergency undies bag right?"
"Did you pack a spare handle in yours?"
Hange's obnoxious laughter was almost loud enough to muffle the low knocks on the door. Her irritating jabs to Levi's shoulder quickly halting when Levi grabbed her fingers.
"Who is it?" Erwin asked, one hand on the door.
"It's Y/N.."
Now Hange stopped laughing. Erwin shrugged as he looked back at both of them before pulling the door open.
"Hey, here." Y/N sounded filled with fatigue as she handed over a small bottle to Erwin.
"Oh! Thank you! Where'd you get this?" Erwin smiled with delight immediately flopping back down next to his bag.
"Jean carries around extra strength glue because Connie always manages to break something fragile." Y/N replied "I doubt it'll work but maybe it'll help a little?"
Erwin nodded happily as Y/N turned to look at Hange. Her hands balled up and her fingers fidgeting where she was pulling at them.
"How's your rib Hange?"
"It's ok now, thanks for asking."
Y/N nodded and at this moment everyone in the room was looking at Levi who automatically felt extremely naked.
"Levi um.. can I talk to you? In the hall?"
Levi didn't know if he had nodded in his head or in real life but he was swiftly moving across the room. Passing Y/N where she stood and then holding the door open as she walked out just behind him. The door shut behind the two of them and if Levi felt naked before the feeling out here was somehow worse.
"What happened?"
Levi could hear the slightly muffled footsteps on the other side of the door and even a whispered Hange as Y/N spoke. His hands felt both too dry and wet all at once as he looked into her mildly menacing gaze.
"Wh- where wh-when.."
"You barely said anything to me after I brought the cream for your forehead. What happened? Did I do something wrong?"
Oh god how can she possibly assume that? Levi felt his stomach clench. He had never had it easy with text, which was why he pretty much always called everyone.
"I-I didn't mean.. it um.." He shuffled his feet a bit now remembering that he still had no shoes on.
Y/N sighed. "I wanna be your friend Levi. Please tell me you want that too."
With a deep breath he replied, "Call me."
"When?"
"Anytime.. I'm a bad t-texter.."
When her facial features softened Levi felt his shoulders finally sag for the first time since he'd heard her name in the lobby. "Ok.. oh ok, that's all it was? I thought I did something wrong. I'm glad we talked."
And Levi was barely registering her hands wrapping around his shoulders. Her body pressing oh so comfortably close to his. Hand sliding over his back, scent overwhelming his nose. And then just as soon it was all being taken away.
"I'll call you, ok?"
"Ok.." Levi's hand was still waving long after she'd already disappeared out of plain view.
"Oh god you're her friend!" Hange laughed the door suddenly yanked open behind Levi.
"It's as cute as it is sad." Erwin clicked his teeth.
"Tch, shut up." Levi stomped back into the room.
"Levi, you're in the friendzone!" Hange huffed as Erwin shut the door. "And if you don't get out of it. You're gonna be the short shoulder to cry on when some big dude with an invalid drivers license, a shit ton of tattoos and a porn addiction breaks her heart."
"That's oddly specific.." Erwin retorts
"All of you keep assuming I wanna be her boyfriend. I don't!"
Erwin rolled his eyes, "That tall guy that she was with actually. I think he'll be the guy who has her running to Levi's shoulder."
"Oh you mean Jean?" Hange nods "But they broke up a while ago."
"Then why is she still hanging out with him?"
"He's Sasha and Connie's best friend. So they've all known each other a while. They're a set, don't separate type deal."
"Then it's only logical that Y/N will marry Jean someday. You know if they all stay so close."
"Yup, definitely."
"You can both eat shit."
~~~~
Day one
Levi strained awake, blinded by the harsh sunlight stabbing his eyes through the uncovered window. He couldn't even remember when he'd fallen asleep last night but he could already tell it was too early for everyone else to be awake.
He could recall a couple things from last night. Hange overstaying her welcome in his room, Erwin suggesting that Hange pay for his fucked up luggage and somethings he would rather not think about.
Preferably the others joining in his room to discuss breakfast plans. At which Sasha had suggested the diner they had already planned to go to early in the morning. Levi's heart sank as he recalled Y/N's gorgeous smile directed to Jean who had stood behind her rubbing her shoulders and whispering in her ear.
He squeezed his eyes shut, standing from his bed and immediately working to straighten out the sheets before eyeing the book he'd unpacked last night.
Maybe he could get some reading done before Hange inevitably came to annoy him.
The one he was currently holding was of a dog wearing a big floppy hat in the mist of sunflowers. He quickly matched it with his black and white sweatpants. And with a small sigh he headed to the bathroom.
He thumbed at the spine of the book, sliding his finger between the pages to the current bookmark. A shower would probably be a better start to the morning though. He set the book down unzipping one of his bags and pulling out the first pair of clothing folded at the top. Levi hadn't remembered packing one of his mother's many silly birthday gifts to him. She had always bought him shirts with pictures on them that confused him.
He didn't even remember the last time he'd had a shower that was hot for more than five minutes. Or the last time he could look down at his feet without seeing a hair monster in the drain.
He took a couple extra minutes to completely wash his hair, combing his fingers through the strands before shutting off the water and quickly getting dressed.
As he reentered his room he remembered the random gaze Jean threw his way. The smirk on his lips, the taunting glare and then just as quickly it was over. And he was talking to her like nothing had happened.
Levi had never once in his entire life thought about having a girlfriend. It just wasn't something that absorbed his thoughts but he knew the second he saw that smirk on Jean's face what he wanted to be to Y/N.
He just couldn't imagine how.
His fluffy towel hugged his head as he popped open the book he'd discarded a couple minutes ago. He pulled his feet in closer to his body tracing the letters on the page, delving into the story-
"Levi!"
Two fucking seconds.. that had to be a new record.
A barrage of harsh knocks sounded outside his door and he yanked it open to see Hange standing there out of breath with a barely alive looking Erwin behind her. Excitement flooding her features as she pushed past Levi with Erwin in tow. A blue toothbrush almost falling from his lips.
"You couldn't let him finish brushing his fucking teeth?" Levi grunted, shutting the door behind the two of them. Erwin sighed his eyes shut, toothbrush dangling from his mouth. "Why're you here?"
"We're all going for breakfast remember?"
"Not for another thirty minutes." Levi narrowed his eyes and leaned back against the tv table.
Hange smiled, "Yup and that means we have enough time to figure out a game plan to get you and Y/N together by the end of today." Hange clapped excitedly though both Erwin and Levi couldn't possibly look less enthused.
"I don't need your help."
"Erwin, back me up here!"
"I'm not doing shit since you didn't let me spit and I had to swallow toothpaste." Erwin remarked, squeezing the bridge of his nose.
Levi's face scrunched up and Hange let out a snort. "Why did you swallow it.. you could've just spit it out in the hall or something."
"That's fucking disgusting." Levi grunted
"Why the hell would I do that?" Erwin asked
"You're not supposed to swallow toothpaste duh!"
Everyone huffed all at once and Levi flopped down next to Erwin on the bed. "If I need any help I'll ask.." He mumbled already feeling heat fly to his cheeks.
"We're finally gonna get you a girlfriend Levi!!" Hange squeezed his body in a tight hug.
Just as Levi was about to push her away a couple of soft knocks sounded on his door again, "We're leaving a little earlier, hurry and come downstairs."
~~~~
Before the car had even pulled up back at the lodge Hange was already screaming about going skiing. Erwin had asked if Levi wanted to which he'd replied with a scoff.
"Really? Cause there are plenty of chances for Y/N to fall on you. Or you to fall on her." He shrugged.
Levi just rolled his eyes and at that Erwin gave up and now he was standing at the freezing cold railing watching everyone go down the stupid slope for what had to have been an hour or so. How'd he end up with bag watch? He didn't even wanna come outside.. He blew on his fingers trying and falling to warm them. At this point he felt exhausted, absolutely none of his clothes were keeping him warm.
With a sigh he pulled Hange and Erwin's bags up onto his shoulder along with Sasha and Connie's belongings. If he could manage to get upstairs he could warm up at least a little. A hot cup of tea practically beckoning him.
It took him only a couple seconds to realize he didn't have Y/N's bag. He looked around for a couple seconds. Did she bring a bag outside? Did he lose her bag?? He'd only left once to got to the bathroom. Did someone steal it.. Shit. He grumbled in disgust. Where could he have left it?
Feeling a bit panicked he headed towards the stairs. Blood running cold, his eyes practically bouncing out of his skull. His heart stopped at the display in front of him. Jean's hand on Y/N's waist as she leaned forward on the railing. Their lips pressed together..

Some Girl ... Part 3
Word Count: ~1.7k
Warnings: None.
// * // * //
Mason smoothed Sebastian’s thick, silky hair and then offered his hand to Shawn. Shawn reached out to shake it, completely caught off guard by what Charlotte had said, although trying not to show it.
“It’s nice to meet you,” Mason said with a cautious smile.
Shawn only nodded his head in response.
“He’s a little nervous about meeting everyone, so why don’t you give us a few minutes.”
“Of course. I’ll bring Bash in,” he said, taking the stroller from her hands. “Take your time.”
Shawn reddened more and more with every step Mason took toward the house. The moment he shut the door behind them, Shawn turned on Charlotte, understandably upset.
Before he could even open his mouth, Charlotte held up her hands in a placating manner. “I swear, I had no idea I was going to say that, and I’m sorry. I wouldn’t blame you for storming off right here, right now, but please, just hear me out.”
He didn’t respond, but he also didn’t walk away, so she continued. “You’re going through some shit right now, right?” she said, rhetorically. “Just come in and forget about everything for a few hours. You can snuggle Bash, have a few drinks, eat some fantastic food, - better than you can find in any restaurant, I swear, - play some cards, watch the game, or swim.”
She could see him defuse right before her as she talked.
“We have a pool table, air hockey, and darts, too.”
There was still a tinge of panic in his voice, when he said, “What if they know who I am?!” Wait. Was he honestly considering this? He had wanted more time with Charlotte and Sebastian.
“I would be surprised if they did. Valerie and the twins definitely would have, but they’re not going to be here tonight. Try to avoid playing the guitar or singing, just in case,” she smirked, trying to lighten the mood.
“I haven’t picked up my guitar or have had any reason to sing for a while.”
Her heart plummeted. “Shit. I’m sorry, Shawn,” she said softly. “I didn’t mean to be insensitive.” All she wanted to do was hug him.
So, she did.
He didn’t pull away. Instead, he returned the embrace. She felt and heard him sigh deeply in her arms.
When she ultimately eased away from him, he met her eyes and asked quietly, “What was that for?”
“It looked like you needed it.”
He had. He really had. He didn’t know just how much he had needed it before it happened. He was again surprised at how well she seemed to read him.
“I really should have thought before putting you in this situation. I’d still like you to consider it, as off the wall an idea as it is. I could introduce you with a different name. And if anyone grows suspicious and says to me, ‘he looks like Shawn Mendes’, I’ll just say, ‘I know, eh? Why do you think I let him into my bed?’”
He laughed then. It was a beautiful sound.
“You don’t really look like the Shawn the public is used to anyway.”
“Gee, thanks.”
“I don’t mean that in a bad way,” she reassured him. “You’re usually a little more...polished. Clean-shaven, perfectly coifed hair, except for maybe that one stray curl that drives all the girls wild,” she teased. “Personally, I find the darker, slightly longer hair and the stubble terribly sexy.” That earned her a little smirk.
Charlotte’s eyes met Shawn’s with as much warmth and hope as possible. “Things will get better, Shawn. It may not feel like it right now, but it will. I promise.”
She reached out to tenderly cup his cheek. “Having your heart completely destroyed fucking sucks, but it will heal, and things will get better.”
Shawn had gone through a myriad of emotions and feelings in the past hour. From apprehension to delight. An unburdening and acceptance. A spark of anger. Surprise, sadness, comfort. A moment of joy, a moment of indignation. And altogether more compassion than he’d gotten from anyone outside of his family and friends.
He hadn’t felt much of anything except devastation and anxiety since he and Camila had split. To feel so much more, so many positive emotions, within such a short amount of time, was invigorating. He stood straighter; his heart felt lighter.
“So, what do you say?”
He licked his lips and bit softly on the bottom one.
“Nobody is going to expect anything of you. They’ll just want to get to know you. I never talk about Booker, - I don’t believe I’ve ever even said his name to them, - so you can say whatever or be whoever you want.”
“They’re going to hate me for not being around for Bash.”
“If it even comes up, tell them you didn’t know until recently, right now even. We ran into each other at the liquor store and, ‘hey, remember me? Surprise, you’re a dad’.
“My family is amazing, I promise. And they’re all starting to gather in the doorway and at the windows,” she laughed. “We should probably head in, if we’re going to.”
He looked toward the house and took a deep breath.
“This might help to get you out of your head.” Before he even comprehended what was happening, her hand was at the nape of his neck and her mouth was against his; a quick, startling press of her lips. Just as his shock melted into response she was pulling away.
“I kinda wanna do that again,” he whispered. It was Charlotte’s turn to be surprised when suddenly he was kissing her back, open-mouthed, and soft-lipped.
Shawn hadn’t felt any sort of spark with anyone since his heart had broken. It felt good, exceptionally good, to kiss and be kissed again.
Their eyes met and they both smiled.
“Come on,” she said. She slipped her hand into his and led him up the front walk.
// * // * //
Stepping through the front door Charlotte called out, “Everyone, this is Peter.” She already expected that Mason would have told them all that he was Sebastian’s dad. “Peter, meet...everyone.”
She met the eyes of her family members, one by one. All eleven of them had gathered in a relatively small area. “I told him you were amazing; don’t prove me wrong. Be nice. He’s actually a really great guy. Now go. We’ll make the rounds. Don’t overwhelm him.”
Most everyone scattered throughout the house, a few spilled into the backyard. Elisa, with Sebastian, Jack, and Mason were the only ones who still stood before them.
“You met Mason outside. He’s my cousin, but he's more like an annoying little brother,” she smirked. He gave her upper arm a gentle shove.
Charlotte introduced Jack next. “This is my uncle Jack.”
“There won’t be a test, don’t worry,” Jack smirked, shaking Shawn’s hand.
“He’s the closest thing I have to a dad, so he may grill you a little.” She looked pointedly at her uncle. “Go easy on him, Jack...
“And holding Bash, of course, - she has trouble sharing him, - is Elisa, my aunt, my second mother.” Elisa smiled and her eyes sparkled. “Yes, he is insanely attractive, but your husband is standing right beside you, so behave.”
They all laughed at that. Shawn blushed, which only made him more appealing, and his heart had flipped a little when Charlotte had said he was ‘insanely attractive’. Okay, so there was a spark on her end too, apparently.
But he wasn’t ready for a new relationship, he reminded himself.
Surprising everyone, Sebastian reached for Shawn. He almost fell out of Elisa’s arms doing so. Shawn caught him easily. “I’m sorry,” he automatically apologized to Elisa, pulling him close and holding him secure. He instinctively dropped a kiss on top of his little head. Sebastian grasped Shawn’s necklace and started babbling happily.
“No honey, you don’t have to apologize,” she said rather dazed and amazed.
Charlotte looked in awe at her son in Shawn’s arms. She missed the look that passed between Elisa and Jack.
To break the hush that had fallen, Jack asked, “So Peter, how do you like your steak?”
“Medium, medium rare.”
Jack clapped Shawn on the shoulder. “Good man.” He then disappeared into the kitchen, Mason following.
“Charlie will show you around. Make yourself at home,” Elisa smiled softly before heading off to the living room.
Charlotte linked her arm through Shawn’s. “Why don’t I get you a drink before you meet everyone else.”
“That sounds like a great idea,” he chuckled and allowed her to lead him further into the house.
// * // * //
By the time the steaks were ready, Shawn had also met Beth and Lyle, Annie, Will and Diana, Josh, Doug, and Rob.
Annie and Beth were Elisa’s best friends. They had also been the best friends of Charlotte’s mother, Emily. The four of them had been practically inseparable their whole lives. Lyle was Beth’s husband. Will was Charlotte’s uncle, - Elisa and her mother’s older brother, - and Diana was Will’s wife. Josh and Doug were Will and Diana’s sons, and Rob was Doug’s best friend.
“I’ll help you remember,” Charlotte whispered to Shawn.
Shawn had thus far had a beer and a shot of tequila. The drinks had helped him relax, but he was taking it easy. He might let himself get pleasantly buzzed later that night, but he didn’t want to get wrecked in the presence of Charlotte’s family.
He may not have been Sebastian’s dad, but he wanted to make a good impression on the people who thought he was, and who had welcomed him into their home.
// * // * //
Dinner was unbelievable, as Charlotte had promised him it would be, and he was satisfyingly full.
The questions that had been asked of him throughout the evening were unobtrusive and considerably basic in nature. Again, as Charlotte had said, they just wanted the chance to get to know him. And like Charlotte, they were easy to talk to. Conversation was fun; he found himself smiling and laughing more than he had in a while.
He noticed Charlotte watching him, and when he smiled or laughed there was a look of pure happiness in her eyes. It made his heart flutter.

Coffee Time│Yang Jeongin
Tumblr media
Synopsis: Jeongin has been trying to work the nerve to ask you out for about a month, maybe today’s the day
Genre: fluff, fluff, and more fluff. Barista!Reader
Count: 1k
It was like clockwork.
Every single day your cute mystery boy would come in at 2pm. You’d get to watch him come up to the counter and shyly order, then sit at the corner table with his laptop as he drank his large ice americano. The coffee shop you worked at was on the outskirts of town, surrounded by a dozen other popular cafe’s, which made for a pretty empty afternoon. But he was the warm ray of sunshine that always brightened up your day.
Jeongin, was his name.
On the weekdays he was usually out within thirty minutes, but during the weekends he’d spend an hour or two there. On the days he did stay he would be watching a movie on his laptop, always making sure to turn it toward you see you can see and read the subtitles from the counter. it was simple, but you cherished it.
Other times he’d bring his school work, and it was so cute when he’d get stuck because he’d just chew on his pencil nervously. He’d never ask for help but he had a tendency of just looking around vacantly when he was confused and since you were never busy you’d always offer to help.
And on occasion he’d just bring a book, he’d flip through the first few pages but always ended up singing to himself. And when he did that you’d turn down the speaker just to hear his sweet voice.
He was undeniably charming. Those gorgeous dimples, his handsome cheekbones, his sexy Busan accent that’d slip out when he got excited and your favorite feature, how his eyes would disappear like a Fennec fox when he smiled or laughed.
You didn’t spend a lot of time together, but it was just enough.
Enough to miss him when he wasn’t there. You leaned against the counter, resting your head on your hand wondering if the bad weather was keeping him away. It was almost thirty minutes past the hour and he still hadn’t shown. It’d been a solid month and he was always on time. Your frown deepened as you gazed at the door.
“Maybe he’s not coming today” your coworker, Minho laughed while wiping the counter.
“Don’t say that” you whined.
He scoffed. “Ah yes, I’d hate for you to miss a day of flirting where he comes in and he’s like ‘Oh I’ll have an ice’, and then you interrupt him by saying ‘ice americano’ like it’s a surprise because the dude only orders one thing and you both laugh awkwardly and get all red and shit” his tone mocking as he rolled his eyes. “You guys flirt like awkward middle schoolers. Like there’s no one here, make a move, ask him out, do something.
“Hey!” you groaned. “We’re not that awkward”
“The most exciting thing that’s happened was when you both reached for a napkin. That was practically foreplay for you wasn’t it?”
“You’re disgusting” you crossed your arms over your chest defensively. “And besides Minho, I don’t even know if he’s interested in me”
“Ok first off, our coffee fucking sucks. Have you ever wondered why there’s literally no one here?” he gestured to the empty cafe. “And secondly, remember that one time I worked register because you were organizing coffee in the back? Well he just stood there, looking around until you came to the front” he groaned. “Like he doesn’t even have to order, we know what he wants”
“Large iced americano” you chimed
“No idiot, he wants you”
“Apparently not because he’s not here” you frowned.
The whole day came and went and your cute stranger never came. You and Minho were cleaning, preparing to close when the door swung open. Minho pushed the mop around the floor, not bothering to look back. “We’re closed, I already cleaned the coffee machine but there’s a cafe across the street that closes in twenty minu-” he looked over his shoulder and smirked. “Oh well well well. Lover boy”
“Hey…” Jeongin waived awkwardly. “Is…” he stopped himself losing his nerves. Honestly, the whole day was him losing his nerves. He told himself that he if didn’t ask you out today then he should stop coming here since it had been an entire month and he hadn’t made much progress.
His nerves got the best of him this afternoon and he flaked, especially since he didn’t want to ask you out while you were on the clock. That was borderline on harassment. But off the clock, you could at least feel free to reject him properly.
“Here to ask out the coffee house princess?” Minho teased, wiggling his eyebrows. “Here take some advice from your neighborhood Hyung’ he touched his chest proudly. “You can’t beat around the bush, you gotta just go for it. Be sure of yourself” he winked “And use protection”
“I was just gonna ask her out for dinner” Jeongin’s eyes widened, flustered at the sudden teasing. “But she’s just so pretty and every time I look at her I just…” he sighed covering the growing redness on his face.
“Come on, you came all the way here, trust me she wants to go out with you.”
“Minho can you help me with-” you stopped when you walked out from the back and looked back and forth between the two of them. “Jeongin hi” you smiled waiving “Wait-He didn’t say anything weird did he?”
“No…Kinda...but not really” Jeongin fiddled with his sleeves, shyly avoiding eye contact with you because he knew he couldn’t do it without blushing.
“Of course I didn’t” Minho scoffed, feigning offense “Have some faith in me” he clapped “I’m gonna finish closing you can go”
“Really?” you eyed him suspiciously. “Why are you being nice.”
“I’m always nice” he grinned “Besides Jeongin, wanted to talk to you” he gently gave him a pat on the back “Didn’t you, Kid?”
“You did?” slipped off your apron, the grin growing on your face. “What’s up?” you grabbed your bag, slinging it over your shoulder.
“Would you like to grab dinner?”
“I’d love that…”
As the two of you had a delicious dinner and were winding down for the night. You were almost surprised by how comfortable you were with him. It didn’t feel like a first date, and maybe it’s because you’d known him for a month.
Maybe it’s because you were so comfortable with him you didn’t feel pressure when you caught yourself giving him flirty little looks. He made it know that the attraction was mutual, and you weren’t just pining for him.
Jeongin took another bite of the brownie cake, and a bit of the frosting grazed his cheek. He licked some off of his lip, but there was just the tiniest amount that lingered.
You leaned across the table wiping the whipped cream off his cheek. “You made a mess” you smirked, licking the excess off your thumb.
He smirked taking your hand and bringing it back to his lips “And you missed a spot” his tongue darted out to lick the pad of your thumb making you blush. How dare he? How could he flip your flirty move into his? And now you were flustered, turned on, and excited all in one go.
You pulled your hand back pouting, refusing to lose to him and trying to think of your next move when he shyly looked at you from behind his beer bottle. Was this seriously the same kid from a second ago? Because suddenly he looked so shy. “Can I confess something?”
“Should I be scared?” you quirked a brow.
“No…” his eyes wandered “I like you a lot, and I wanna see you again...like regularly, but not like a customer/employee thing but more like a dating thing...if you’re interested”
“I like you too” you grinned. “That was a really cute confession”
He laughed nervously. “I kinda have one more confession…” you looked up at him expectantly. “I actually hate coffee...like a lot.” he sighed “Ice americano taste like dirt and water”
“Oh my god” you laughed, holding your stomach and throwing your head back “I’m gonna cry” you giggled, wiping the tiny tears that pricked your eyes. “You ordered the same thing every day, why didn’t you just order something else?”
“Alright well since I’m confessing, I was passing the cafe by chance because I had a group project and the kid lived over here and well...I saw you from the window and honestly, I don’t know who I thought I was when I walked in there trying to get your number” he fiddled with the beer bottle. “I got nervous and just ordered the americano because it was the only coffee drink I knew...I don’t even drink it, I tried and like I sip it and stuff but it’s just so bitter" he stuck his tongue out in disgust just thinking about it. “And..the cafe’s actually pretty far from my house so I had to commute”
“Jeongin you come everyday!” your eyes widened as you laughed.
“I figured if I asked out suddenly that would be really weird so I thought if I became a regular then maybe I stood a chance...and even though I failed and didn’t ask you out I liked hanging out there” he groaned covering his face. “I’m a loser aren’t I?”
“You’re so cute, what am I gonna do?” you laughed. “You’re seriously so cute”
He peaked at you through his fingers. “I haven’t blown it?”
“Not at all” You gently grabbed his hand “Don’t hide your handsome face, I wanna see you~” you gave his hand a reassuring squeeze. “Any other confessions?”
“I really want to kiss you right now”
“Then please do” you smiled as he leaned in across the table, pressing his lips into yours for a sweet chaste kiss. You could feel his smile against your mouth as he pecked you a few more times. “Jeongin..?”
“Hm?” he pulled back, gazing at your dreamily.
“You got whipped cream on your shirt” you giggled, pointing out the stain on his button-up, before handing a few napkins to him. He may not have been the smoothest guy, but he didn’t need to be to make your heart flutter.
End.
Fluffy Jeongin because I love this sweet boy >///<

Before I Met You | Eighteen
Updates: Sundays TBD
Pairing: NCT (Jaehyun, Lucas, Mark, Jaemin, Johnny) X Reader/OC
Genre: Romance, Angst, Coming of Age
Summary: Four. There were four people before I fell in love with you… Here are their stories.
Author’s Note: So we’re starting off part 4 today! I wanted to let you know that I am going to be a bit busy (school is starting for me, etc.) so unfortunately, I don’t think I’ll be able to keep up with my weekly update. I might try biweekly updates, but I’m not quite sure what my schedule will look like yet. I might consider shorter updates, but that may disrupt the flow I want. Either way, rest assured, I have full intentions of continuing this story... albeit, a bit slower.

“I remember you telling me you had asked out one other guy before me,” Jaehyun says. “But I didn’t realize it was like that.”
I hug the throw pillow to my chest tighter and an embarrassed smile makes its way onto my features. “Mm, technically, I didn’t ask him. It was more like… well, I confronted him,” I admit.
His eyes widen like everything has come full circle. “This makes so much more sense now.”
“What?”
“When you asked me… that was like nothing in comparison.”
“I wouldn’t say that…”
“– and I didn’t even give you – God, I’m such a wimp,” he laments, covering his face with both of his hands in humiliation.
I shrug and rest my hand on his knee, gently rubbing circles over the denim of his pants. “Hey, we’re here now, aren’t we? Besides, we had more… legitimate problems. You had basically just started your job.”
“Yeah, that’s true.” He continues nodding to himself, mostly in agreement, though a nervous laugh quickly follows a loud huff. “But I’m still such a wimp! I couldn’t even call you!”
“Well,” I begin, “you did call me. Though, I guess you could have at least left a message.” My eyes soften as I lift my hand to caress his face. “I don’t blame you though. I’m not worth your job, Jaehyun… and especially not when you’re just starting out.”
A small smile forms on his lips as he wraps his arms around me, pulling me into his lap and gently encouraging my head to rest against his chest. He presses a soft kiss into my hair.
“Thank you for caring, but I think you’re worth it.”
Jaehyun and I have been together for over two years. I suppose since we’ve made it this far, there’s no doubt he’d say that. He’s happy, I’m happy, things are good. We were lucky that it worked out for us. And while I wouldn’t have it any other way, I’m not entirely sure I really do think I’m worth it.
“How did you feel after that?” he asks, pulling me from my thoughts. “Like, just about the whole situation. You didn’t seem heartbroken over it, but you must’ve been upset.”
“No, I wasn’t heartbroken,” I concur. “But I was incredibly confused. And I hate being confused. When something doesn’t fit the logical mold, I don’t know how to function. It’s like my synapses misfire and I start coming up with all of these hypotheses – it’s a very desperate attempt because I start spit balling things that I know don’t add up and so I’m always left back where I started… confused and unable to piece together anything into a coherent story.”
Jaehyun tightens his hold on me and remains quiet for a moment.
“Did I make sense to you?”
“In the beginning, no.” I crack into a wide grin and look up at him. “You didn’t give me an answer and then the next time I stepped into the office, you kept trying to talk to me and started asking me all of these questions like nothing had happened. And it was so funny because we both knew there was this huge elephant in the room!”
“I couldn’t call you from my phone! Siwon told me not to! So I figured that if I show you some interest, then you wouldn’t completely hate me,” he responds. “And maybe you’d get the hint.”
“You could’ve written me a note!”
“I –” he begins quickly, an attempt to defend himself, though, he ultimately concedes. “Yeah, you’re right. I was scared!”
“You had right to be.”
“I still can’t believe you did that to that guy in college. He must’ve been terrified.”
“Yeah, probably.
“Did you ever see him around again?”
“Yeah, it was a little weird. Trying to force yourself to say ‘hi, how are you?’ to someone after that is kinda awkward.” I bite my lip as another memory resurfaces. “Honestly, the most frustrating part was when my mom called after she heard what I had done.”
“Oh no,” he remarks, his tone exhibiting full understanding of the situation.
“Yeah, she called and asked why I did that, how it wasn’t okay – she was switching back and forth between reprimanding me and asking if I was okay.”
“Why didn’t she think it was okay?”
“I think she thinks it’s not ‘lady-like.’ I’m not supposed to be so… assertive.”
“You’ve always been confident,” Jaehyun replies with a chuckle. “It’s something I’ve always admired about you. Ever since I met you.”
Tumblr media
Junior year of college was starting out rather monotonous. Jia and I had moved back into the same house, choosing to remain roommates in the same room. We were pleasantly greeted by many new faces who seemed to be much more open to socializing with each other compared to the previous year’s tenants. I had been quick to learn that most of them knew each other from the dorms last year; they were already friends. Their openness even managed to coax the handful of residents that returned from last year into playing cards with them in the evenings.
I, on the other hand, had become much more reticent to join them. I had missed out on the first week’s socials, having to tend to family obligations immediately after finishing classes for the day. I’d watch them for a bit sometimes, heart heavy with a desire to belong and make more friends. I didn’t even know half of their names.
I spent most of my days on campus in class and then the library until dinner. When I went home for the day, I stayed in my room with Jia. Of course, she noticed my change in behavior from the previous year, but I couldn’t tell her the truth.
I couldn’t bring myself to spend my evenings downstairs anymore. It made me antsy. Last week, I happened to be in the dining room alone – a dangerous environment for my overly analytical brain. My eyes lingered over to the pool table and immediately, the events with Jaemin began playing right in front of me, incessantly on repeat. The laughter, the banter, and the seductive gazes were a sad reminder of how boys can really just suck sometimes. I missed what we had – which is so silly because it’s not like we really had anything. Longing, frustration, and confusion all hit me within a matter of seconds. I suppose it’s understandable. I didn’t really get closure with Jaemin. He just made me more confused than I already was.
Why? How?
I didn’t understand.
And naively, I only thought my residual feelings were as bad as it would get.
Yesterday, Suji and I happened to be walking through the student union after lunch. Being the third week of the semester, the student union had already resumed its normal busyness. We were searching for open seats to do some homework before needing to attend class, but were finding the effort to be useless. As we made our way towards the exit, I had the sudden feeling that someone was watching me. I frowned and when I turned my head, I immediately made eye contact with a familiar brown haired boy sitting at a table with his laptop.
Jaemin.
Be nice.
His expression was blank as he looked back at me. Desiring to be civil, I smiled warmly and waved to him, watching him return the gestures before looking away.
That was the first time I saw him this semester.
And while I didn’t think I would never see him, I certainly didn’t expect to run into him every day after that. It was always in different places around campus between classes. For such a large campus, I’m surprised we had that much overlap in class locations.
“Hey!”
“Hm?” My eyes widen and I quickly look up at Jia who has a slightly perplexed expression.
“What are you thinking about?”
“Oh um, I was thinking about my schedule for tomorrow,” I lie.
“Oh really?” she asks. “You looked like you were concentrating very hard.”
I shrug and shake my head slowly. “Long day tomorrow.”
“Oh, okay. Have you seen the boys around here?”
“I’m never here so I haven’t really seen anyone except for… I think his name is Hendery? He’s cute.”
“Oh, yeah, I saw him. Have you seen Johnny? I think he’s really attractive. More attractive than Hendery.”
“Uh, no. Have you talked to him?”
“Yeah! I talked to him one time! He’s really nice. And really tall too.”
“Oh.” I reach over to the other side of my bed and grab my phone. “Do you know his last name?”
“Suh.”
Jia climbs up onto my bed to sit next to me while I type the name into the Instagram search bar.
“That’s him,” she says, pointing to the first result.
Johnny is quite handsome. Midnight black hair, defined jawline, and a very friendly smile.
“Oh, he is cute,” I say. “But what’s this?”
I tap on the second most recent selfie of Johnny and a girl sitting at table with two cups of boba. The caption reads, “Happy Birthday to this one 😘💕”
“Damn, it looks like he has a girlfriend,” I say with a sigh. “Oh well!”
If I were being completely truthful, another reason I wasn’t interested in spending time downstairs was because part of me didn’t actually want to make friends with anyone at the house. Jaemin was still a sore spot and all because of him, I had decided that finding a potential love interest amongst your housemates was a bad idea. Perhaps that was a bit narrow minded because it’s not like I had to befriend any of them with that intention. I never had that intention with Jaemin to begin with.
But maybe that’s what I was afraid of. I never meant to fall for Jaemin – it just happened.
There’s obviously no guarantee that it would happen in the same way again, but in thinking about Lucas and Jaemin, I felt that the chance was more than miniscule. And that risk was enough for me to decide against it.
Tumblr media
Okay, do not go into the student union right now because Jaemin will probably be there since you saw him there at this time last week.
Library it is.
I grab my backpack and throw it over my shoulder as class ends, quickly leaving the room and finding myself thrown into a crowded hall of students trying to exit the building. Walking past several students sitting on the floor outside of my classroom, I turn the corner and immediately deadpan.
Are you fucking kidding me?
Jaemin and I instantly lock eyes as he walks from the opposite direction. He looks at me for a moment before turning away and continuing to chat with the girl next to him. I squint in confusion, chastising whatever supernatural forces could have caused this chance encounter.
Since when does he have class at this time?! And in this building?! I’ve never seen him here in all the time I’ve had class this semester!
I try to remain expressionless as I mentally prepare myself to walk by him. He’s acting as if he’s completely invested in his conversation, turned completely inward towards the girl and ignoring any oncoming people that may pass by.
Okay, so you’re just going to act like I’m not here, got it. I guess I won’t say hi.
I keep my head down as he comes within earshot, keeping an eye on him from my periphery.
“I’ll see you later,” he says to the girl before abruptly turning around and trailing behind me.
Oh?
“Hey.”
Unfortunately, my mouth works faster than my brain in this instant and my bitterness quickly reveals itself.
“Endless running into you, huh?”
That didn’t come out right.
“Yeah…” he slowly responds.
Yeah, that definitely didn’t come out right.
He maneuvers to my right side to walk directly next to me. “Where are you going?” he asks.
“Life sciences building,” I say, keeping my gaze forward.
We walk several more steps towards the entrance, slowly making our way upstream of all of the students pouring into the building.
“You?” I ask.
“Uh, Wheeler, which is that way,” he says, pointing in the opposite direction. “Ah, I always forget my orientation.”
It seems like you’re always doing that when you’re with me.
A few silent moments pass between us as I’m at a loss of what to say. I obviously didn’t start out with a very friendly demeanor, which I’m guessing he probably didn’t expect given my smile and wave last week.
What the fuck am I supposed to say? Pretty sure you didn’t come up to me to have a “let’s be friends!” chat.
“So how’s everything going?” I ask, glancing over my shoulder to see him a couple steps behind me.
“Uh… good,” Jaemin says. “Busy junior year. How about you?”
“Uh, same. Yeah…”
There’s a hell of a lot of other things going on, but I don’t know how much I should or want to elaborate. One of those things is you, but we won’t go into that.
“Where are you going?” he asks.
Um, I just told you.
I open my mouth to repeat what I told him thirty seconds earlier, but am cut off by his quick memory.
“Oh, life science building, right, which is that way,” he says, pointing in the proper direction.
Yep… that way. Why does it seem like you’re so nervous?
“Did you just have a class in here?” I ask.
“Yeah, had class in here and now I’m going to Wheeler,” he repeats.
Yeah, I know. You just said that.
“So you’re going that way?” he asks again, pointing straight ahead as soon as we make it outside the building.
“Yep…”
“Okay, I’m going this way. See you later.”
“See ya.”
Well, I guess the ice has been broken.
I just didn’t really get it. I thought that after the whole falling out between us, I was never going to see him again. Jaemin was my adventure for sophomore year. Done, chapter finished. That’s basically what it was with everyone else. I’ve never run into Lucas when I return home during breaks. I rarely see my floormates from freshman year – maybe a couple of them once while walking between classes and then never again. Obviously because Jaemin and I go to the same school, there’s always a chance that we will see each other.
But every single day for a week?! That’s gotta be some kind of record.
There’s what – 36,000 people here? So the chance of seeing any one person is about 1/36,000; even less because each person can only be in one place at any given time. So seeing Jaemin once on a fluke wouldn’t be unusual and would probably be kind of nice just to smile and wave, “Hi, I know you exist and you suck, nice to briefly see you.”
There’s too much of a coincidence for this to mean nothing. But I don’t know what that is because there’s likely no chance of us actually dating and I’m pretty sure he isn’t trying to be casual friends with me.

The knife glides seamlessly as I guide it through the cantaloupe. Several drops of juice spill out onto the cutting board. As I begin slicing it into trapezoidal pieces, my eyes flicker back and forth between the fruit and the boy cooking at the stove.
I immediately recognize him to be Johnny. The pictures didn’t do him justice. He’s definitely better looking in person and much taller than I had initially expected. Sporting a casual black t-shirt and jeans, I take note of his broad shoulders and relatively muscular arms.
“Hey, is it okay if I open the door? I’m using a lot of pepper,” Johnny suddenly says to me.
“Oh, yeah, sure.”
I shift my weight between each leg, trying to figure out something to say to break the ice. I’m aware that Johnny has a girlfriend, but that doesn’t mean I can’t at least introduce myself. I don’t know anyone here anyway – with the exception of Jia and knowing the names of the few returning residents from last year. It just seems so much more intimidating to talk to a cute person because I don’t want him to think I’m hitting on him. Though, it’s kind of a bold assumption to make.
“What are you cooking?” I finally ask.
“Uh, salt and pepper chicken.”
“Oh. That sounds good!” I respond. “I don’t think we’ve formally met. My name is Y/N.”
“I’m Johnny.”
After proceeding through the normal “first time meeting fellow college student” questions, I learn that Johnny is a CS major who was originally born in Seoul, but moved to San Jose when he was only a few years old.
“I haven’t seen you around here too often,” Johnny says. “Do you just hang out in your room?”
“In the evenings, yeah. Otherwise I go to the library between classes and stay there until dinner.”
“Wow, I wish I studied like that. I study in my room, but I get distracted by my roommates a lot. Maybe I should go to the library too.”
I shrug. “I get more work done, but I almost don’t have friends,” I reply with a chuckle. “Just a couple that I go out to dinner with every once in a while.”
“You should hang out with us downstairs. My roommate Hendery is always looking for people to talk to. And Chaeyoung is really nice; she was my floormate last year. She always has snacks to share.”
I have an in! I can make more friends! And they seem nice! And they probably won’t flirt with me and tell me they were just being friendly!
God, I’m still so salty about that.
“Are you a part of any clubs?” he asks.
“No, I tried to join a dance club, but decided not to. I also did archery for a little bit, but I don’t go anymore.”
“Archery? We have archery here?”
“Yeah, it’s at the baseball field on the other side of campus though. I’d go, but we don’t have a bus that goes directly there.” “You don’t have anyone to go with?”
“No.”
“Oh.” He looks at the ground and purses his lips. “Well, if you ever wanna go back, I’ll go with you. I’d like to try!”
The cute guy wants to be friends with me! Yay!
“That would be fun! Yeah, I’d like to get back into it.”
Tumblr media
“So I met Johnny downstairs,” I say, popping a piece of cantaloupe into my mouth.
“Ooh,” Jia coos. “What did you think?!”
“He’s cute and he’s really nice. He invited me to hang out with him and some of the other people that are downstairs all the time.”
Jia frowns, seemingly offended that she wasn’t offered an invitation. “He didn’t invite me!”
“We were talking about clubs and friends. Did you guys talk about that?”
“Oh.” She retracts her hurt expression, but only momentarily. “No, we just talked about the classes we’re taking. But you always get invited to things. Like I want to be asked to do a photoshoot.”
I’m rendered a bit speechless by her comment. Jia has never been this… blunt? I didn’t know that she noticed or even cared. Ten has asked me to be his model a handful of times to practice his photography skills, but that’s about it. I always thought Jia was more social than I was. She went on dinner outings and had friends over much more frequently than I did. Granted, when the amount of times I do those things is nearly zero (in reality, it’s probably a couple times a month), anything more than that would seem frequent to me.
“You know how my friends came over last week and you came in for a couple minutes to put something away, but then went out with Ten again?” she begins. “After you left, one of my friends said that she’s surprised I would get along with someone who looks like you.”
What the hell?
My eyebrows raise in astonishment. “What’s that supposed to mean?”
“I don’t know.”
I’m silent for a moment as I consider the situation. Jia looks like your typical studious international student. She wears oversized glasses, never wears makeup except for job interviews and special occasions, and generally wears plain jeans and simple long-sleeved shirts. Her system is based on efficiency.
I’ve always been sort of the opposite. Not to say that I’m not efficient, but I don’t mind sacrificing a little sleep to do my hair and makeup every morning. I’ve always held myself to a higher standard of presentation. And I guess it’s not unusual for me to hear comments about being attractive or looking like a sorority girl. Not sure the latter is said as a compliment, but I digress.
“She thinks I look like a partier, huh?”
“I think so.”
I purse my lips and nod my head slowly, a bit displeased about the superficial impression from a stranger. I am not a partier in the slightest.
“Anyway,” she begins, switching the subject again, “it’s too bad Johnny has a girlfriend, huh?”
I sigh, as my thoughts regarding our previous subject of discussion have not been settled. I can’t say I like being perceived that way. Is Jia… jealous? I’ve never made it a point to tell her what I’m doing, but she always asks every time I get ready to leave the room. Otherwise, I wouldn’t tell her.
“Yeah… too bad.”

Friday Night Fights
In which Faith interviews a Vampire.
I saw this prompt by @promptsforthestrugglingauthor and was immediately inspired, so I knew I had to join in on this weeks round of Friday Night Fight. The prompt is also in bold below, mixed in with my own text.
__
I hadn’t expected my night to go like this.
My plan had been simple. Hit up a bar, find some random who smelled tasty and seduce them into being my dinner, then leave before anyone noticed. It had worked without drama every other time, particularly once I’d learned how to leave my meals alive so that I didn’t have to worry about disposing of the body, but this time...
I hadn’t meant to confess what I was to the tiny pink-haired woman tending the bar, only she’d been so easy to talk it had just slipped out. I certainly hadn’t expected her to believe me when I had - she wasn’t part of the magic community, I could tell that much, and there was no way she was a hunter - but to my utter mortification it seemed like she had.
“A vampire!?” She frowned. “Well you certainly don’t act like one. Give me some fancy details about the past, something so weirdly specific no one but someone who lived it would know.”
It was always the same when people found out - when they weren’t screaming that I was going to kill them, anyway - and to be honest, it was getting annoying. Everyone always assumed vampire equaled old, when the reality was most of us only had an average lifespan of 10 years past our turn date. The hunters were remarkably efficient at their jobs.
I let out a huge sigh. “I was only turned in 2011, what do you want from me? A recitation of “Party Rock Anthem?” My feelings on the first Thor movie? My horrific shame that I was living fucking Twilight while teenage girls everywhere were searching for a vampire boyfriend?”
Was it me, or did she actually look disappointed?
“I’ve got fangs though,” I told her, letting them become visible. Why I felt the need to please her I didn’t know, but I didn’t like seeing her sad. “Does dat help?”
Her eyes widened. “That’s so cool.”
“It’s really not,” I said once they’d retracted. I hated them. Hated the weird feeling in my mouth, and the way they messed with my speech when they were out. Most of all, though, I hated the way I kept accidentally piercing my own damn tongue with them. Like biting your own tongue with normal teeth wasn’t bad enough.
“But you’re a vampire,” she breathed. “A creature of the night.”
I groaned at that.
“You’re going to be young forever, and strong, and mysterious and like, super rich. Why do you seem sad about it? Do you want a drink?” The realisation of what she’d said hit her immediately. “Oh my god-- gosh-- I can’t believe I said that! I mean alcohol, obviously. Not blood. Whoops.” She let out a nervous giggle.
“Look-- sorry, what’s your name?”
“Faith.”
“Faith, you’ve got nothing to worry about. I can smell the negative RH factor in your blood from here, and… ugh.” I couldn’t stop the shudder that went through my body. “I’d rather not.”
“Oh good! Does that taste bad or something?”
I picked up the coaster in front of me, spinning it between my fingers. “Would you believe I’m allergic? Didn’t think it was possibly for vampires to be allergic to blood, and yet here I am.” It had taken a while to work that one out, and longer to learn to identify the trigger. Didn’t matter how delicious Faith looked, there was no way on earth I was going anywhere near her neck.
“Yeh ok that’s def a downside.”
“Yep. Sucks.”
Faith laughed, and too late I realised what I’d said. If I’d been capable of turning red, I would have.
“You’re so funny,” she insisted. “Stay right there - I want to know everything! I just have to close up first.”
I hadn’t noticed that the bar had emptied out while we were talking, and I sat there waiting for her to collect all the empty glasses. I should have been going - I was still hungry, and getting hungrier by the minute, only I was enjoying talking to someone about all this for a change. I rarely got the chance. My social life had died the same time I had, and the other vampires in the area were so full of themselves I rarely wanted to be around them.
When Faith returned she immediately poured herself a drink. “You want one,” She asked, shaking the bottle in my direction.
“Damn I miss tequila,” I groaned, shaking my head at her offer. “There’s another downside. Can’t have human food or drink. Closest I can get is drinking from someone who’s drunk, and trust me, that is nowhere near the same.”
“Ouch, yeh, I hadn’t thought of that one. What about flying? Is that fun at least?”
“I can’t fly.”
“Lame. Can you turn into a bat?”
“Can’t do that either.”
Disappointment returned to her face.
“It’s really not as fun as the movies make it out to be,” I groaned. “It’s not like I got turned and was handed the keys to a creepy mansion full of priceless antiques or bags of case. I still have rent to pay, which means I need to work, and my job prospects are limited by my sun allergy, yeh? I was a surf lifesaver before all of this happened, and there’s really no call for one who can only work when it’s dark.”
“What about a--”
“Please don’t say crypt.” They always said crypt. “They are cold and damp and full of religious items and I’m allowed to have standards. And electricity!”
Faith held her hands up in a defensive motion. “I didn’t mean to upset you! I’ve just never considered any of this.”
“Most people don’t.”
She had a sip of her drink, and I swore I could see the gears in her mind turning.
“Yes, the counting compulsion is real and annoying, and if you throw anything to test it I will snap your neck. The silver allergy is real too, which sucks, because platinum is out of my budget and gold does not suit my skintone. And the thing with crosses and holy water, unfortunately.” I’d never believed in God when I’d been alive, but apparently they believed in me. “And no,” I added when she went to speak, “I can’t read minds either. I just know what you’re going to ask, because it’s what everyone asks.”
Her mouth snapped shut.
“It sounds like you don’t want to talk about any of this,” she said, rallying quickly.
“No, I do, I do… I know I’m complaining. It’s just there’s so many more downsides than upsides, and other vampires are the worst… just… ugh. Wish I was still mortal. Was so much easier and I had a better lifespan then…” I trailed off, trying not to think of everything I’d lost.
“Yeh but… you died already.” There was more sadness in her voice than anyone in my family had expressed at my funeral.
I dropped my head into my hands, letting out another groan. “And it was the dumbest death ever,” I said, looking up at her. “‘Go into the spooky mansion’, my friends said. ‘It’ll be fun,’ they insisted. And I was young enough and drunk enough that I didn’t consider the fact that I was being the white woman in a horror movie. Got turned within 10 minutes of stepping into the joint.” it had not been a pleasant experience, and was one I was determined not to do to anyone else.
“Mmm yeh, that does seem kinda dumb. I’ve got a friend who’d do the same thing though. She loves doing stupid things like that and--”
“Are you talking about me?”
I turned to see who had spoken. An attractive white-haired woman had walked in, keys to what I assumed was the bar entrance in hand. Standing close to her was a fit looking man with a scowl etched into his face. Even at this distance I could smell how delicious he was, only there was no way in hell I was going to make him my dinner. I knew who these two were, and as much as I hated being a vampire I didn’t have a death wish.
No wonder Faith hadn’t been scared of me. If I had friends like these two, I wouldn’t have been scared of me either.
“Bee, you’re here!” Faith ran over to the woman, practically tackling her with a hug, then glared at the man she was with.
“You have to meet my new friend,” Faith insisted to Bee, dragging her over. “This is…” she frowned again, staring at me. “I never got your name.”
“That’s not important,” I told her, standing up. I needed to get out, my fear outstripping my hunger. These two may not have been hunters, but that didn’t mean they wouldn’t take issue with me. Not if they thought I was a threat. “I should be going, anyway. Thanks for the chat.”
“No worries,” she chirped. “Come back whenever!”
I fled before they had a chance to stop me.

Request: Could you do a oneshot where the female reader and Brian are visiting Brian's parents and Bri's mother is showing the reader embarrassing pictures of baby Brian and he gets all shy and blushes like mad? Thanks in advance ♥
UHMMM THIS IS SOOO CUTE! Maybe this story is not as good as you’re expecting because I’m not that good at writing fluff but I really tried hard! It took long becaaaussee I wasn’t in the mood for writing for days but here it is!
Warnings: kinda sad in the end, fluff
Tumblr media
“We’ll be there in an hour.”, Brian told his mother on the phone. He was nodding while smiling, very excited of what’s about to happen tonight. “Okay, Mum. I love you too.”, he put the telephone back down and walked fast towards you.
“They’re excited, love! I told you not to worry about it.”, he says, running his warm hand on your neck down to your shoulder. He looked at you from head to toe and his smile grew wider. “Look at you! You look wonderful, you’re amazing!” He kissed you gently on your temple. You gave him a fake smile. “What if they don’t?”
Brian frowned a bit. “They’ll love you as much as I do. You look absolutely stunning, darling. And not just that! You have a beautiful heart too. I know they’ll see that too. You’re not just gorgeous. You’re perfect, baby.” He smiles at you as he fixed your dress’s neckline, which was a bit revealing. “These are mine, I don’t want anyone looking at it.”, he chuckled as he was pulling it upwards. You giggled, “I’m sorry it was the nicest dress I could find.” He smiled at you. “Remember baby, you’re absolutely amazing and they’ll love you.”, you nodded and smiled at him. He leaned down to kiss you on your lips. You rested your arms on his shoulder, around his neck and his hands were down your waist. “I love you, Y/N.”, he whispered into your mouth. His breath smelled like mint. You smiled before replying, “I love you too, Brian.”
You looked at the mirror once more before spraying on the perfume Brian gave you as a gift on your second month as a couple. It smelled like candy, something sweet, which Brian believes matches your personality. You turned to your boyfriend who looked very handsome in his white button down shirt and black pants and of course, his favourite pair of clogs. His curls are very majestic which adds to his attractive face. He had a perfect face structure and breathtaking facial features that makes you want to stare even longer and it automatically melts your heart. “You ready?”, he asks grabbing your bag and handing it to you. You nodded while smiling. The way he assured you and talked to you earlier had boosted your confidence a lot.
——————
“You know, I find it really cute that we’re both wearing white, Y/N.” He glanced at you quickly and put his hand on yours while the other one was on the steering wheel. He gotta make sure his girlfriend is safe. The warmth of his hands reminded you of how loving he is as a boyfriend. You are just almost five months together yet it feels like forever. It feels like you were already married by the way he showed you his love. You fully trust each other not just because you met four years ago but because of the way Brian makes you feel that you make his life a lot better and the way you make him feel that he’s the only man that makes you happy and confident.
You looked outside through the window and you remembered once again that you’re going to meet his parents for the first time. The nervousness, anxiety, and fear kicked in again. You kept worrying that they would hate you or something. That they might think you are not enough. The thoughts were bothering you so much that you didn’t hear what Brian was telling you.
“Love? Are you okay?”, he asks. You hear him now as he distracted you from overthinking. “Oh- oh yes, love. What were you saying?”, you stuttered as you replied. “I said we’ll go to Freddie, Roger, and Deaky’s flats first because Mum would love to see them too.”, he smiled as you nodded, mouth agape, obviously out of your mind. “Honestly, you okay?”, he asked once again for confirmation. “You look tensed.”, he continued. You didn’t respond nor look at him. “Babe, I told you you are an amazing woman and they’ll love you. There’s nothing to be worried about. I told them stories about how you take care of me when you visit my flat. And they smile when they see my face light up.”, you felt your confidence boost up again as he said that. There was concern on his face but you don’t like seeing it so you held his hand tighter and replied. “I’ll try my best to calm myself, love.” He took your hand and kissed it.
As you picked up the boys, the trip started to become kinda noisy. Roger was teasing you for being too nervous while the three were trying to make you feel better.
——————
As you got to the May’s house, your heart started to beat faster. You tried to catch some breath while Freddie was tapping on your shoulder, trying to calm you down. “Darling, they are amazing and welcoming parents. Don’t be so scared.”, Freddie smiled at you. The boys got out of the car first while you and Brian stayed so he can talk to you for a minute. “You can do this, my love. Okay? Remember what I and Freddie said.”, he said as he held you by your cheeks. You nodded and held his hand tightly. He gave you a gentle kiss on your nose.
“I’m so excited!”, Brian said as the five of you were walking towards the house. Brian knocked and in just about ten seconds, the door opened. It was Mrs. May. She looks a lot like Brian. She looks beautiful. She immediately hugged Brian. “I missed you!”, she exclaimed. She looked at you with widened eyes. You were so nervous waiting for her to speak. “You must be Y/N!”, she smiled and opened her arms wide, inviting you for a hug. “You look absolutely pretty! Brian has good taste.” Brian looked at you with ‘I told you’ eyes. “You too, Mrs. May!”, you responded with a smile.
She gave the boys hugs. “Ah Roger, looking great as usual!”, you see Roger’s cheeks turn pink. “And Freddie and John! I missed you!”. After all those welcoming talks on the door, she finally let you in. You saw Brian’s dad by the dining table, placing all the meals and plates on there. As you see him, you notice how Brian is a mixture of his parent’s appearance. The face shape and height was from his dad and the beauty from his mum. Mr. May quickly walks towards all of you and gave Brian a hug. “Dad, Y/N, my girlfriend.”, he says proudly. You gave him a smile.
Mr. May looks at you with glistening eyes. “How beautiful you are!”, he gave you a warm hug. He turned to Brian and joked, “You inherited great taste from your mother. Ruth chose a great partner like you did.” Mrs. May hit him with her elbows. You all, chuckled. He also greeted the three boys.
They invited you to sit on the dining table. The meals looks absolutely delicious. Brian sat next to you, his parents in front of you, and Roger, Freddie, and John at either sides of the table. You all got foods for yourself and Brian spoke. “So, Y/N, this is dad and this is mum. I told you my parents’ names already and you can call them Harold and Ruth...or Dad and Mum if you’d like.”, his parents smiled and his dad responded. “Yes, you’re a part of our family now. I want you to call us ‘Dad’ and Ruth, ‘Mum’”, you nodded.
You shared stories with each other and how you two met. You can see excitement and happiness in Brian’s face as he talks about you. How sweet! Everyone was laughing at the ‘Dad jokes’ when Mrs. May stood up and went to a room, which you suppose is the living room. She came back with a thick blue book in her hands. You watched her as she opened it and giggled to herself. She pulled a picture out and handed it to you. Before you could reach her hand, Brian swatted yours. “Mum! Don’t.”, Mrs. May laughed and slapped Brian’s hand away. You looked at it and saw Brian, his young self, probably the age of thirteen, sitting at the side of a pool in his swimming brief. You and Brian looked at each other. His face was red and he was embarrassed. You bursted into a laugh which made him smile. Mrs. May handed you the whole photo album while the boys were looking at the photo she handed you earlier. “Cute, right?”, Mrs. May smiled.
And there was another one where the whole family was at the beach. Brian looked like he’s a girl though. “He was two years old that time.”, Mr. May said. You literally cannot stop smiling that your cheekbones already hurt and kind of feels numb. He was pouting his lips the whole time you all are looking at his pictures while his mum was telling stories.
You could see Brian just poking his food with the fork and not eating them. He had lost his appetite out of shame. “Mum, this is embarrassing!”, he finally spoke. “There’s nothing wrong with them, baby.”, you caressed his cheek. A few minutes later, he stood and walked away from everyone without them noticing because of how much fun they were having. At first you thought you shouldn’t follow him because it would seem rude but you felt concern. “Excuse me, would you mind me checking him for a second?” They said it was okay.
You went upstairs and looked for him. You saw a door to a room with Brian’s name written and hanging on it. You knocked. “Bri? This is Y/N.” You heard his heavy footsteps across the room towards the door. He looked down at you, his lips still pouting. He let you in and you sat on his bed. “You okay?”, you asked while rubbing his back. He didn’t respond. “Why would you think it’s embarrassing? I find them cute.”
He looked at you with sadness in his eyes. “I- I just feel embarrassed that my childhood was not as great as you had. You know, I felt sad when taking those pictures. Having no siblings to share happiness with sucks. I felt so alone and it’s not just because I look ugly on the pictures”, you interrupted, “you look cute there.” He just looked at you and continued. “But also because it doesn’t have much value...I mean my life then wasn’t that great because I had no one to share my adventures with. I have no one who can understand me by the time. Those pictures makes me remember how sad being alone is. And I don’t like seeing them anymore— or letting other people see them. Because you’re all with a huge family. Tim is your brother, Fred, Roger, and Deaky have siblings. You were all laughing at my pictures but you don’t know what was deep inside those smiles.” You felt guilt after hearing those words. You held him by his chin.
“I’m sorry, baby. I-I didn’t know you felt that way.”, he placed his hand on your cheek. “No, it’s okay, my love.” He answered and looked into your eyes. “You’re not alone, Brian. You don’t have to be alone. I’m here with you. I’ll forever be by your side. I will make you happy every second of your life. I’m your best friend. I love you.”, you assured him, making him smile. “Thank you, Y/N. I’ll do the same. I love you so much.”
You invited him to come back downstairs. As you sat down, Brian smiled at everyone, gesturing that he’s okay. Roger whispered at Brian, “I thought you were doing something illegal upstairs.” They both laughed. Brian looked at you and smiled. You placed your hand on his thigh, making him feel loved and feel comfort. He kissed you on your forehead and whispered, “I love you.”

Taking a Risk. (NOT FINISHED!!!)
Tumblr media
Paring: Peter Parker x Dom! Fem! Alpha Reader
Words: unknown
Warnings:Smut, Dom/Sub, oral, biting, scratching, orgasm denial, In heat.
Summary: peter never got that many chances out of his hero life to experience thrilling risks and feelings, that is until he met you. A vinx, a beauty, who showed him more than how to have fun. Maybe you’ll even find out each other’s secret identities.;)
Peter was never one to take risks,
Or at least ones that didn’t seem too drastic. He never took risks that involved his identity, or doing things he’d get in MAJOR trouble for in school, since he wanted to go to college and get a great job (other than being a superhero and saving the day) to help his aunt!
Peter was always so stressed with hero work and regular school and life work. Helping aunt may as much as he could with bills and any chores. Getting great grades in school, and keeping his neighborhood safe.
You could say peter never really had time for himself.
That’s what he always went by, “save the day without too many risks. Also help aunt may.”
That was, until he met you.
A cunning, ambitious, brave, tactical, sarcastic beauty. A girl who took no ones shit! A girl who had a title, and not a bad one at that. More of a, fitting name for someone as you.
That title, known around big neighborhood, but small school was, Alpha Female. Which didn’t really make sense, since he didn’t know what it stood for, along with how you got the title.
“Peter, come on. You’re gonna be late for school! Again!”
The voice of his aunt disrupted his train of thoughts filled with you.
Groggily, he took a moment to process what his aunt had just said, until he strained his neck to the side, over to look at his clock on his night stan.
He shot out of bed with wide eyes, after seeing how late he was. Quickly, he ran over to a pile of clean (or dirty, he doesn’t know) clothes on the floor next to his door.
Picking out a random shirt and jeans, along with a pair of shoes. He brushed his hair in his mirror, and after making his hair a bit more presentable, he ran down his apartment stairs, jumping off the last step. He took ahold of his backpack straps to steady his labored breaths and to calm down his rising anxiety. Saying a quick “Bye aunt may, love you!” And running out the door before hearing a reply, knowing his aunt would yell at him to leave already before he’s late even more.
Now, alone with the chilling fall breeze, he put in his old and broken ear phones. They still worked perfectly, since peter knew how to fix them when needed, but also knew how to take care of things more than others since he had less than them.
Choosing a happy song, he couldn’t help but smile. This song was his favorite, since it reminded him of you!
She's a Killer Queen
Gunpowder, gelatine
Dynamite with a laser beam
Guaranteed to blow your mind
Anytime
Suddenly feeling a sensation of some force sucking him into a gravity defying state.
Knowing that he would fall from such a force and make a fool of himself, he quickly shut his eyes.
He could have caught himself, but peters so used to not being able too, he forgot!
Than he felt something comforting wrap around him like a warm blanket. Warm and inviting.
Peter slowly opened his closed shut eyes, only to see the blue awakening sky.
He felt at peace for a moment, out of the stressful morning and day to come.
That was all ruined when that sudden defying gravity feeling, shouted at him.
“EH!”
Peter yelled out at the sudden disturbance, looking up. From the cover of his eyes he could see tresses of (h/c) floating around his face.
This certainly caught his attention, since there was only one person who had that type of hair.
Well, from what he remembered anyways. (This will sound dumb if you have brunette/brown/black or any regular hair color, but I have to add people with colored hair dont I?)
With sudden realization of what happened during his daze, he jerked his head towards you.
Which startled you since you thought he fainted, only to feel him move and stare at you with a surprised look. In your moment of shock, you didn’t realize that you dropped his body.
Which resulted in him groaning and holding his ribs in pain.
“Ughhhh...” Peter has just went up against one of his enemies last night (of course, without aunt may knowing).
That’s why he was so sore.
And also because he may or may not have jerked off to your Instagram picture, where you wore only a tight and small fitted bikini.
Thinking back on it, he couldn’t help the blush rising up from his neck all the way up towards his already rosy cheeks.
As you helped him up after your little out of space moment, you couldn’t help but blush at feeling his arms.
Realizing he wasn’t just a dork, but a dork with muscles. You groped his upper biceps, liking the feeling of them in your hand.
‘So strong and soft...’ your blush darkened as you soon realized you were caught groping the poor boys arm.
“Hehe, sorry. Um, it’s just that you have really nice biceps. For a nerd that is.” Your confidence soon coming back to you towards the end of your sentence, all nervousness and bashfulness pushed away.
Peter could only blush at your statement, but the tiny little smile he had soon fell after hearing the rest of what you said. Did you not think a nerd could have muscles? Is that how you thought of him?
At the thought of you thinking of him as a weak person, with only a brain made his blood boil, he’s eyes narrow, and a low growl emitted from his throat.
You weren’t paying attention enough to see his reaction and hear his growl, as you were scolding yourself mentally and what you just said.
‘Great! Now he thinks you’re a total bitch! Way to go (y/n)!’ With a sigh you look back at peter, only to meet him dead in the eyes. Which, you weren’t gonna lie, kinda creeped you out; but as you look at them longer, you could see the beautiful mix of green and blue circling around the irieses.
Peter, was, and foremost, one of the cutest boys you’ve ever met. It’s not that hard to see why, I mean his personality just made him even more innocent and adorable. He was irresistible to you, and you’ll make him yours one way or another.
Now it was your turn to growl, but this time, the other did hear it. You didn’t care if you just met this boy, or if he even wanted to be with you, you’ll protect him no matter what!
Peter, hearing your growl, only made his blood boil even more! He didn’t know why, but he felt this sudden attraction towards you. The sun hit you just right across the face, and made your angelic skin glow a soft gold. Almost as if you were shining. He wanted to be yours, and for you to be his. He wanted to hug you, and never let go. To take you, and bend you over a school desk to fell the thrill he’s never had experience ever before. To feel your warm slick wall, wrap around his thic-
The television of a nearby store loudly showed the news, and what was seen was a picture of the new hero, She-Wolf. Pete- I mean Spider-Man’s new nemesis.
“Today, the new hero, She-Wolf, has been spotted last night, saving yet another woman from a horrible fate. Will she be the end of Spider-Man, or will the team up? Stay tuned for more information on our new and rising hero!”
The news anchor soon finished what she needed to say, and a commercial soon came on afterwards.
Peter could only scoff at the last question.
‘Yeah right, like I’ll ever team up with someone who purposely wanted to save people only for the fame.’ St that thought, peter would soon explode if his blood boiled even more than it already is.
(Y/n) couldn’t help but smirk st what she had just seen and heard, she was becoming a super hero. Her goal would soon be reached; but it would’ve been resched sooner if it weren’t for that retched Spider-Man. Oh, how she hated him and how he humiliated her on her first mission.
-Flashback-
Putting on the last of her costume, (y/n) soon got ready for her first mission. To say she was nervous was an understatement! She felt her body tingle with excitement and rise with goosebumps from the night chills as she opened her apartment window with carful movement, as to not wake up her sleeping parents.
She braced her legs, ready for the impact she might take from the three story high fall. With an exhale, she jumped, as she did, she could hear the whistle and screeches of the wind flying past her ears. She could also hear nearby gasps and yells from passerby’s seeing (y/n) “fall”.
(Y/n) could only smirk at the now forming crowd, as she descended towards the ground faster.
Just as she was about to hit the ground, she pressed her knees to her chest and held onto her legs, letting her body tumble and roll as it hit the cement.
A little dazed, she got up, earning claps and yells of amazement. Her smile could be seen, but only her smile since she had a mask that covered her eyes.
Stepping towards the crowd, (y/n) made sure to not bump into anyone as she made her way out of the now leaving crowd.
All of a sudden, she heard a heaps of gunshots, ringing across her sensitive ears.
(Y/n) winced as her eyes still ringed at the loud noises that came from a nearby bank. And already knowing what was going on, she cautiously ran over to the scene.
Moving towards a shattered window, she peaked in. Seeing at least 3 robbers, she closely listened with all her might and remaining strength from her ears, to hear if there were anymore robbers in the area.
Not hearing any other heartbeats than a couple hostages, knowing this by the smell of their fear, and the three robbers.
You’ve been in this situation once, when you were three.
As a child you were reckless, not that you aren’t today, but it was much worse. And it cost the life of your sister figure, Linda Jennings. (Sorry if that’s your name! You can change it)
From that day on, you knew you had to get your shit together. Well, not completely, you still had to have fun!
Shaking the memories away, you squat down and started crawling over to a nearby huddled group of hostages.
Making sure the robbers were in another room, you stalked over to the nearest hostage. Who almost screamed if you hadn’t put your hand over their mouth before they could.
Sighing in relief, you looked into their eyes, yours turning a burning red, glowing in the shadows of the bank walls.
“I want you to take as many hostages out of here, and go somewhere safe. I’ll distract the robbers.” Letting go of their mouth, you could see their eyes glaze over into an orange hue.
The man, who you compelled, simply nodded and took off. Taking other hostages with him.
You knew they would be safe, you could hear the nearing sirens.
Turning around, only to stop dead in your tracks as you see one of the robbers having caught you sneaking around.
At first you both blinked owlishly at each other, but soon the man, or woman, quickly regained posture and control of their body. Aiming their deadly weapon to your face.
Taking a shaky breath, you slowly raised your hands over your head, as a sign of surrender.
“A-alright, now keep your hands in the air. D-don’t move, I don’t wanna hurt anyone!”, the young boy had yelled out nervously, also shakily grasping the deadly weapon.
‘He’s probably 16 or something. Who would bring a child into this mess? I need to get that gun away from him, or someone could get hurt, even could potentially hurt himself.’ Your thoughts were soon interrupted by a sudden yell and a loud bang.
Jumping up, you look over to the boy, only too see his limp, unmoving body. On the ground, as blood spilled from his back, where the bullet hole must be.
You quickly kneeled next to the boy and took of his mask.
You gasped in horror, this isn’t real! NO! IT....
The boy’s dead eyes stared back at you, as if finally dawned on you.
This boy wasn’t 16.
But 14. You’d heard of him going missing on the news. And now you knew where he went, and what had happened to him. Poor boy was just trying to live a happy life.
‘What the fuck! No! Who would do this?!’ Your visión soon clouded with red, flickering. You brain grew unsteady, your inner wolf scratching to break free once again, and reek havoc.
Your breaths grew labored, your lungs burned with rage, and intensity. So much so that your powers grew visible, as a dark sheet of black wrapped around your body.
A growl resonated from deep within your throat and core, shaking anyone nearby, to their very soul.
The ringing in your ears having stopped long ago, only for the room to be silent.
You could hear your raging heart, and heavy breaths.
Until clapping was heard in front of you.
Looking up, you saw a man, in his late 30’s perhaps. He clapped and smirked at what he saw in front of him. He clapped because a boy died, his comrade. A child!
You look at him through your eyelashes, eyes turning to slits. Slowly, you stood up, not looking at the Man, but at the body of the young boy in front of you.
Having already shut his eyes, making him look peaceful. To which he was probably far from.
Now, finally staring at the man, face to face. You stalked over.
“What a wonderful scene that was. Did you know him? I didn’t, I just chose him at an old, burned down orphanage. He was a worthless child until I taught him some of the things I knew. But even than, he was still never going to amount to anything. He was too weak, too soft. It’s a good thing I killed him.” He laughed as he looked at the boy, than at you.
Finishing his own sentence, “and now, it’s your turn darling.”
Being called that by such a killer, made your blood boil. How dare he talk to an innocent child that way, HOW DARE HE DO THIS TO ANYONE!
‘I’ll make sure you have a special place in hell, buddy.’
The only thing running through your mind before you rip this man apart, was that this kid and many others he’s hurt, needed Justice!
You stepping closer to the man, with heavy grunts and growls. He looked at you, confused at what you were going to do next.
He smirked, he didn’t know what was to come, “what are you going to do? Bite my leg? Hahah” he mocked you, as he kicked the poor boys face.
That was enough to snap the tight, thin rope keeping you from ending him right than and there.
After you felt it snap and you suddenly charged at the man, soon enough, everything turned red. You couldn’t see anything or feel anything. Your wolf instincts must have taken over, leaving you in a cold, black wide mindset. The dark abyss had swallowed you and your human conscious. Leaving only an angry, and feral wolf in control, which was dangerous to anyone around, and yourself.
As you floated into nothingness, you felt as if you could move your limbs again, you soon regained control of your body.
Feeling a tight substance like thingy, move across your body, you felt it restrain you. Shaking your head to get rid of the drowsiness, you slowly look at your surroundings after your eyes adjust to the light shining into your sensitive eyes.
Looking down at your body, you could see that your black leather costume was ripped terribly around the mid section, giving you the idea that this sociopath, had actually got a good hit on you. Although, thanks to your wolf like abilities, you were able to heal, what looked like a big knife gash running down from your left hip, up to your right rib.
Shivering, at the thought of being conscious and not having this healing factor, scared you beyond belief. You were thankful for your powers, and thankful it wasn’t an innocent and helpless passerby in your place. If it had happened to be a passerby, they would’ve surely died immediately after the knife cut deep and firm into their fagile skin.
Taking one more look at your body, you suddenly noticed why you couldn’t move your limbs, it was because of a gooey and ripe-like substance. You strained your hand up, and moved the strong rope onto your upper-arm instead of it being under your elbow. Finally, after what felt like an eternity, you touched this unknown gooey thing.
It felt like slime, really sticky slime. Along with a mixture of something else, you just couldn’t think of what at the moment.
“So, you’re the new hero Everyones been taking about.”, suddenly you heard a boy-ish voice behind your concentrated figure. This sudden intrusion to your thoughts had made the hairs at the back of your skin stick up in alert, and you had moved down towards your thigh, where you had your knife.
Only to feel nothing, it was gone. “Yeah, I took your knife. Didn’t know if you were bad or not.”, now you were getting angry at this boy, who was possibly way younger than you from the sounds of it, for taking your knife.
Turning, you were surprised to see another new hero there, Spider-Man.
Of course you’ve heard of the well known spider around town. You were basically his shadow to the world. Only very few knew of you, until your sudden appearance on Captain America’s team against iron man.
Yes that was you, and yes, you may have caused major damage to Stark’s suit, and yes, you were almost sued if it wasn’t for Steve helping you, but besides that, you now have a good relationship with all avengers.

Anyways I hope you like it and that it’s not Bad™️ considering how tired I am
~*~*~*
Pt two
Keefe
The next morning, I wake up and go through my simplistic routine again. Get dressed, brush teeth, message Fitz, eat. When I hear the honking of Fitz car outside, I carefully grab my cane and walk out the doors, tapping my way yard and to the street.
“How goes it?” Fitz’ voice calls, and a smile splits across my face at the inside joke.
“I don’t know,” I reply, laughing at the memory it brings. “I can’t see.” Fitz laughs in response.
“You’re sitting up front today; Biana took Sophie to get coffee early, so it’s just us boys.”
“Dex sat in the back?” I questioned, as he normally was quick to jump on shotgun. I reach the car and pop the door open, and am greeted by the familiar smell of Fitz’s car.
“More like laid in the back,” Dex pipes up, while I thud my bag to the ground and shut the door. I shake my head.
“You’re supposed to be the responsible one, Dex. Shame on you.” I chide, and Fitz peels away from the house. I roll my eyes and laugh; they’re so dumb. We’re so dumb. And I’m grateful for it.
“We're here—part two!” Fitz exclaims in the seat next to me. “Well, for half of my classes this’ll be my first day. I missed a lot yesterday—freshman presentations are ass,” he grumbles as he parks the car. I chuckle and shake my head.
“Your fault, man,” I taunt him, and he scoffs as a response. “Hey Dexxxxx… wanna walk me to class?” I say, fumbling around in the back, trying to hit him.
“Hmrrghh. Yeah.” I hear him shift around, and we step out of the car together.
As soon as we're both out, Fitz locks the car. “See y’all later!” he calls, jogging off- likely to some lifting or meeting or something. I chuckle; whenever I think of Fitz, I imagine he’s either very ugly, or really attractive. From what I heard, it’s the latter—he's the epitome of perfection to the entire school, and many other schools as well. I, however, know better—he’s a complete and utter dumbass. He once chugged half a gallon of milk on a dare, and another time got himself locked in a dog kennel—and that list can go on. I don’t quite understand how he keeps the guise of perfection and stability when he’s oh-so-clearly not. Him running off to a meeting or club isn’t a surprise, but it’s hard to imagine, knowing what he’s actually like.
“How the hell does that man manage all that shit?” Dex grumbles, also acknowledging that Fitz is definitely insane. I shake my head.
“A very, very large amount of crack,” I state solemnly, as if this is a sad, but true fact. Dex laughs loudly.
“I don’t doubt it. Better not let his coach find out,” He replies, just as sincerely. “What room number are you in, by the way?” He asks, just as I detect the curb with my cane. Gently stepping up, I tell him. “Nice—we aren’t that far from each other- you’re going straight there, right?” he asks, and I nod.
“So, I’ve been meaning to ask you—is there anything new with the Stina situation?” I bring up the topic gently—Stina Heks was Dex’s early on bully. Before Sophie brought Dex into the group halfway through their Freshman year, she would nag on him relentlessly—he was attending the school on a partial scholarship, and his family has a bit of bad history of being… odd. His dad runs a small pharmacy, and it’s mostly alternative medicine. She used to take any opportunity she could to point out anything about him that wasn’t strictly ‘normal’. I absolutely love it there with Dex. Mr. Dizznee is the kindest, most loving person ever—a huge contrast to my barely around, statue of a father. Plus, it always smells really nice in the store.
“Oh… well, we have precalc together, but she hasn’t said anything to me. She hasn’t said anything all summer—I feel like she's matured, a bit. Probably.” He sounds fairly put down, and I use his voice to guide me in the direction to wrap him in a one armed hug.
“Sorry I brought it up. But let me know if anything happens,” I say and he chuckles and pushes me away. From those few moments, I can tell he’s almost taller than me—which doesn’t feel right.
“No worries. Let's get you to class,” he says, and I can tell he’s being honest—it doesn’t bother him. Which is good, in my opinion. He’s growing up. Sometimes I feel like such a dad.
We walk into the main doors of the building and make our way down a few hallways. I use my photographic (ha) memory to make my way, but Dex still stays close to me, not letting me bump into kids or trip. I appreciate it, because I don’t have to use my cane—I might not be able to see them, but I can feel the people staring at me when I have it out.
“Well, we're here. We have, like, 15 minutes before class starts, though,” Dex states.
“I know- I always show up early,” I reply. “I mean, the other option is sitting in the cafeteria.” I shrug.
“Well, I might as well go to my class then. Brech told me yesterday I should come in if I had questions- and she assigned a couple starter worksheets. I gotta deal with that.” Even though I can’t see it, I can practically hear his frown.
“No worries,” I tell him, and he gently pats my shoulder before walking off. I pull out my cane, letting it guide me into the still unfamiliar classroom. The milky blobs of color offer little help as to finding a seat, so unfortunately this tends to be necessary.
“Hey! You should sit here.” A familiar voice says from the back corner. I rack my brain—Linh!
“Oh! Hey,” I reply. “Umm, where are you, exactly?” I ask, sounding really cool, I’m sure. I hate needing help.
“Just back here- this chair would be great.” She knocks on what I presume is the chair next to her. I use the sound to guide me, as well as the cane.
“Thank you,” I say, smiling. “You know, it's really hard to find a seat around here. Like, I literally can't see any! Must be budget cuts,” I say, grinning. There's a pause, then a small laugh.
“Some private school. They can't even afford chairs.” I chuckle.
“I mean- where’s the proof that there's even a building. Or classrooms! You gotta see to believe, and I certainly don't see, so…” I trail off and nod seriously. She laughs- I’m grateful. Blind jokes don’t go well with everyone. “Anyways, how are you?” I change the topic with a grin. “Long time no see.” This pulls out another laugh.
“Well, I’m ok. My schedule has been pretty stressful—but other than that, good. I’m still trying to make friends. I didn’t mention it yesterday, but this is my first year at Foxfire,” she says. I nod in acknowledgment.
“So, kinda on your own then? That’s not easy,” I reply, wondering if I should introduce her to the group. She seems nice enough, and, I hate to admit it, but half of being a part of our group is not being a piece of crap about me being blind. And all of us secretly being idiots.
“Well, there’s my brother—we’re twins. But other than that, yeah.” She sighs softly.
“Oh! You have a brother. That’s always nice,” I say.
“Well, yeah. He’s super over-protected. We got sucked into the foster care system, because… of some things, and there was a lot of bad things, which he always felt he had to keep me from. But we found a really great family now! They’re very nice, and actually acknowledge me and Tam’s ability. We’ve always been considered smart, but nobody really cared. They we're just in it for the money. Our new parents, however, have money, which is nice. So when they found out our test scores, they sent us here.” I nod in acknowledgement—Sophie went through some similar things before she got adopted by Grady and Edaline.
“Oh. Well, I’m sorry you’ve been through that,” I say, trying to find the right words. “It’s really good that you’re here now. Even though I’m pretty convinced there isn’t an actual school, I’ve been told that it’s nice.” She laughs at this.
“Yeah, so have I. Oh! I almost forgot. I’m in your stats class. Frer was just being rude the whole period, so I didn’t have a chance to say anything,” Linh says. I grin.
“Nice! Now that I know, you officially have to help me prank him at least once this year.” I tell her, very seriously.
“Oh…I don’t know about that.” she sounds apprehensive.
“I mean, you don’t have to. But I’m going to do it, so you may as well help.”
“I’ll think about it.” She says, and the door opens.
“Oh! Hello, you two. Early again?” A feminine voice—our teacher’s—says.
“You know it,” I tell her, smiling.
“Alright, well. You have a little bit less than five minutes before class starts, so go ahead and continue what you we’re doing.” Based on her tone—the bright, too cheery one that I hear a lot- I can tell she’s a little annoyed. I try not to let that affect me.
“Hey—I’m gonna work on some AP physics stuff,” Linh says, and I can tell she doesn’t really want to talk with the teacher there- even if its casual conversation. I nod, and let my thoughts be my own for the moment.
At least I’m used to it.
*****
Not much happens the next couple of periods—Fitz and I work on English together, and Dex and I use morse code to ‘pass notes’ in AP physics. He’s really good at science (like, really good), so he skipped a year and is in APP2 as a junior. I appreciate it- he’ll be a help for when I actually feel like studying. During Lunch, Dex and I sit at our table and Linh came to sit with us, introducing herself to Dex. In Government, I sit on my own and listened to the online assignments. In Stats, Linh manages to find a spot next to me and helps me out with the worksheet.
I find myself needing to go to the bathroom, so I ask to be excused. On my way there, a familiar voice calls my name.
“Keefe! Hey. Um.”
“Foster! Uh… what’s up?” I ask.
“Oh! Nothing. But, hey, do you think that you could come over tonight? There’s… there’s something I really want to talk to you about.” Just from her voice, I hear she’s slightly frazzled. Nervous.
“Are you ok, Sophie? Is someone bothering you again?” My mind jumps back to when she was first adopted by Grady and Edaline, and all the crap other kids gave her.
“No! It’s not like that. Just, something I wanna talk about. I need advice.” I smile.
“Ah. You need the wise old Keefester to help you out. Well, no worries, m’lady, I will do what I can. You want me to come over?”
“Yeah. I’ll just have Fitz drop both of us off at my place, Biana can ride on her own—sound good?”
“As long as you have food, I’m okay with anything.” She laughs softly.
“Of course. See you.” I hear her walk away, and smile to myself—I think back to when I had feelings for her, and can’t help but think about how they’ve changed- she’s like a younger sister to me now. It’s odd.
I go to the restroom and return to class, thinking about what Sophie might have to tell me that made her that nervous.
Stats class ends (for me), and my minds swimming with Frer’s stupidity as I go to Latin. I get there around when the bell rings to dismiss everyone else, and I find a seat close to the door. People filter out and in the classroom, and then someone speaks.
“Dude! Keefe, I forgot you we're in this class.” Fitz says, and a grin spreads across my face.
“Yeah, you had that Freshman help thing yesterday. You know there’s only one AP Latin 2, dumbass.” I respond, and he chuckles. I hear him put his stuff next to me.
“How was this class yesterday?” He asks, and I shrug.
“We barely did anything. Got a list of vocab and grammar to review.” I tell him, pulling up my bag to get my computer.
“That’s valid. Not gonna lie, I’m glad I missed it.” This makes me laugh.
“Oh, no—Wonderboy didn’t want to go to class? That’s a fuckin abomination.” I reply sarcastically, and the bell rings. I can hear Fitz scoff, but our teacher starts talking so he can’t respond. We get a reading prompt, and I have to go into the hall and listen to it. The teacher doesn’t let Fitz come out and help me, which sucks- but I have to consider the situation. Which also sucks. I hate having to be worked around.
One thing that really bothers me about our teacher, Sam, is she never lets me leave early. So Fitz has to help me through the crowd of people. The kids don’t really acknowledge me, but having so many people around that I can’t see, don’t know, that don’t care sends massive spikes of anxiety through me. Fitz does a really good job at helping me, his steady hand on my shoulder the whole time, making sure we both get through the crowd.
I’m so damn grateful for him sometimes.
We finally manage to get out of the building and to Fitz’s car. He unlocks it, and I climb into his car carefully. I can hear as he types on his phone, likely texting someone.
“How’s shit at home been going?” He asks, somewhat startling me.
“Oh. Well, not much has happened, really,” I admit with a shrug. “He’s been out a lot lately- I don’t have to interact with him much.”
“Good. We’re not gonna let him give you shit this year, got it?” I laugh.
“You’re so overprotective, Fitzy. I can handle my dad.”
“I’m serious, Keefe. None of this is your fault. Especially now with your mom gone… we-”
“I get it, Fitz. I know.” While I do love Fitz with my whole heart, he can be… overbearing. I reach out and search for his shoulder. “I’ll be okay.” I give him (what I assume to be) an award winning smile. “Besides, I got this year in the bag. All my pranks? Planned out to the t. I won’t get in trouble all year, I swear.” Fitz scoffs, but it’s lighthearted and followed by a chuckle.
“All right Keefe. I’m sorry.” He sounds genuine and I lean into him, letting my head rest on his shoulder. He can be a stubborn little shit sometimes, but he’s… a good friend.
“Oh my god, that’s fucking adorable.” The door crashes open and Dex steps inside. “You guys are gross, though.” He adds.
“PDA is not the Foxfire way.” Sophie says, jokingly.
“I will kiss him, right here, right now. Fight me,” Fitz says, joking but aggressive. Protective as ever. I laugh and push away, settling back into my normal seat.
“I think once is enough, isn’t it?” Dex laughs, but there’s something in his voice… I ignore it, and grin.
“Not when I’m involved. Trust me, even Fitz Vacker wants a piece of this.” I say, grinning and indicating myself.
“Not that you would know,” Fitz responds, ruffling my hair.
“Dude, I don’t even have to see to know how incredibly attractive I am,” I inform them.
“No need to argue with that.” Dex chuckles.
“Oh!” Sophie popes up. “I forgot to mention. Keefe’s comin over, could you just drop us both off at my place? I can get him back, Edaline normally doesn’t mind.” I’m actually the only one of the group that lives in town- everyone else lives in the country, because their parents needed or liked having the land.
“That makes it easy for me. Let’s go, brethren.” I don’t know when Fitz started referring to us at that, but I still think it’s hilarious. I snort at his idiocy, and we head off.
“Dex, are you doing debate this year?” I pipe up. I’m EXCITED for debate season.
“Yeah. I’m actually writing some stuff right now, on how to not be a little bitch.” Dex says, laughing.
“Dex, PLEASE. You’d do really good,” I argue. “Just write an oratory on veganism or something!”
“Dude, you’ve been trying this for the past two years- the meetings clash with robotics. Besides, why would I want to right an oratory when you’ve placed first twice now.”
“Not that that mattered,” I contest. “Considering my dad didn’t let me go.”
“Pleeeasseee. For me.”
“FINE. I’ll go to one meeting. Only because there’s no robotics and Sophie’s going. No offense Keefe, but you suck.” I stick my tongue out at him, but grin happily. I’ve been trying to do this for YEARS.
“You guys are such nerds,” Fitz inputs, and I hit his shoulder. “Oh, you know it’s true.” I scoff.
“Says the president of the chess club.” Sophie states, laughing.
“We don’t talk about that.” Fits says, and I feel the car pull to a stop. “We’re here, Sophie. Keefe, you too. Dex- get up here you little shit.”
“Hey. Don’t disrespect my son like that.” Sophie tells, and I hear Dex grumble a bit.
“Fitz, if you’re not busy, wanna do something? Like, I dunno, egg some annoying blondes?” I snort. Dex has learned well.
“Um, yes to the first part, no to the second. That’s a lot of work. Also, aren’t you vegan?”
“Oh! Yeah, that.” Dex says casually. I laugh, and step out and away from the car carefully.
“Have fun, nerds!” Sophie calls as they drive off, and I grin in her direction.
“So, Miss F, what was it you wanted to tell me?” I ask, and I can practically feel the shift in her mood.
“Oh. Um. Yeah. Come inside?” I nod, and she guides me to the doors.
“Sounds serious,” I tell her.
“Maybe it is, maybe it isn’t. Just… something that’s been on my mind for the past few months. Especially… I dunno.”
“Wanna go to your room first?”
“Yeah. Um…” I can tell she’s nervous, and likely picking at her eyelashes- what many people have told me to be her nervous tick. We walk over to her room in moderate silence.
“What’s the sitch?” I ask, and Sophie laughs- and replies with the Kim Possible beep. “Seriously though, what’s on your mind. Unless you wanted me over just to admire how incredibly handsome I happen to be.”
“Well, um, no… uh.” She sighs. I search around for a chair and sit down.
“Hey. It’s okay. Whatever it is, I’m here for you.
“Well, I. I think. I’m gay, I think. Like, maybe not full gay, but pretty gay. Like, girls are cool gay. Really cool. But maybe not, I don’t? Know If I’m Actually Gay Gay. Maybe I’m just thinking and stuff, but I’m probably gay? I think? I don-”
“Sophie. Hey. It’s okay.” I interrupt, to keep her from going insane. “Take a few deep breaths.” I hear her do so. “You know none of us will judge you. Right?”
“Yeah. Yeah. I guess, I just don’t want to make a big deal of it.”
“I get it. I’m glad you told me, though.” I smile at her warmly.
“Well. That’s all I really wanted to tell you. I guess.”
“Wanna play Smash?”
“Yeah.”
****
That night I get home relatively late- Sophie feeds me and we play video games for quite a while. We didn’t talk about what she told me- I want to respect her space.
“Where have you been?” My father, voice stern, says. I haven’t even closed the door yet.
“Sophie’s.” I respond, automatically pulling on a calm expression and heightening my posture. I shut the door softly.
“And what, may I ask, were you doing?” His voice is condescending.
“We were playing video games and I lost track of time- I’m sorry.” He scoffs.
“I’m sure. Do you have any homework?” There's the implied ‘that you didn’t do’ at the end.
“Not really. I have some reading I can do, though.” I admit. I’ve learned that lying to my father doesn’t work. Ever.
“You better get on that.” He sneers, and I try to keep my expression respectful and blank.
“Of course. I’m sorry.” I say, and walk in the direction of my bedroom. “Debate starts Thursday, by the way.”
“Convenient. The day that I have off.” He scoffs back.
“I’m sorry dad. Do you want me to come home? They won’t mind if I miss the first meeting.” I try not to yell, or say anything that will anger him.
“I don’t care. Go finish your reading.” He says. I can tell that he’s not lying- he doesn’t care.
I bite my tongue and nod. Then I go finish my reading.

He watched her carefully from his position near the blender. He didn’t have the best view but the top of her head was visible and he could see brief movements that made him think of what actions she may be taking. Was she laughing, shaking her head, or just listening to each word coming out of her friend’s mouth with intensity.
The pinkette bounced from one foot to the other, wondering what exactly was being said beyond his outrageously good hearing. Behind him, the blender chirped and the whirring of the blade faded as it finished the selected setting. It jolted him from his thoughts, sort of, and reminded him: ‘Hey! I have a job!’. The frappucino was poured into a plastic cup with the typical fluff of whipped cream on top. From there, it was a handoff to Juvia with high hopes she didn’t fumble and drop it on the woman in front of her. He’d originally replaced her on the register so she could go to break but now that she was back he could safely hide in the corner and make the drinks. He could also reply to her.
What did she think he was anyway? Some kind of criminal? He tugged roughly at his sleeves until the blue smudges came into view, ‘Shit!’ She’d give him hell about it later. His eyes flitted around for one of the dirtier rags. It would be gross on his skin, but it’s not like she’d have to feel it. Once he was done all he had to do was scrub his hands down and throw the rag in the designated dirty rags basket. Done. Easy Peazy.
Pen in hand he was ready to respond when a man walked up and stared at the menu. Natsu vaguely remembered that he was sitting at the table with the blonde from earlier, and for one reason or another, that bothered him. It bothered him a lot.
“Of course! Natsu, one strawberry-banana smoothie.” a girl’s drink, in Natsu’s opinion. Though, he could easily be ordering for one of the girls he was with.
“Got it.” He supposed that reply would have to wait.
“You seem… familiar?” the voice was deeper, meaning it must have belonged to the dark-haired male. Was that a pick-up line? If so, it felt like one lifted straight out of a book.
“Juvia thought so as well.” it was the tone that got Natsu. It was higher than normal, and she definitely sounded… excited. Not that he cared about that, he wasn’t interested in her anyway, but Juvia was always gushing about her dreams. Mostly, the man in her dreams. She’d never been interested in a guy until now. She was surprisingly dedicated to a man she’d never met in person.
He lost track of their conversation as the blender once again whirred to life and blocked out most of the general noise of the cafe. The blender had about 2 more minutes left which meant that, if he was quick about it, he could get a response in.
Rude.
I work normal jobs like a normal person.
He was sure she wouldn’t believe him but he didn’t have time for an argument during a work shift. Though, argument was a strong word here. It was more like bickering. They rarely fought, but if they did she’d start drawing on her face in permanent marker. Shit like hearts or the one time she wrote ‘NERD’ in red on his forehead. He just messed up her notes in retaliation.
Natsu wondered, ever so briefly, what kind of girl she was outside of notes. Was she like the blonde sitting 10 feet away from him or was she like the bubbly blue-haired girl next to her? He wanted to meet her. It’d be easy too. Literally, a dab of ink on his skin and he could ask. Yet, he was somehow scared.
He was the punk who got into fights frequently. Who knows how many bruises she had to hide because of him. Once again, his nervous ticks returned. His ball-point pen tapping on the metal counter that held the equipment. His foot tapping incessantly. Nervousness quickly became agitation followed with a groan of disappointment.
Surely, he’d made things difficult for her without thinking about it. Especially, before the point where he’d learned they were even connected. Not that he could help it. Besides, while he had told her he worked normal jobs that wasn’t exactly the case. The shop they were in now was a cover for a mission they were working.
It wasn’t a big job, but all the same, it had to be handled. They just needed some information on a cocaine dealer. That dealer was also working in human trafficking. Mostly women. Mostly sexual. It disgusted him and he’d needed a new mission so he offered himself as the ‘tank’ so to speak. If they were talking game terminology.
Besides, it was legal. They were hired by the police after all. That was how their company worked with most of their revenue coming from the cafe,  the bar, and finishing up with the occasional work sent their way by the police.
Personally, he was happy he’d taken this job. After all, it placed him in the same city (hopefully) as his soulmate. Or at least he thought it was. She’d mentioned ‘Magnolia University’ and they were in Magnolia right now. He’d been stationed in a smaller city and jumped at the opportunity to move to the main branch for Fairy Tail.
The chairs screeched as the blonde and her peppy friend stood to follow the dark-haired male as he left with his newly acquired smoothie in hand. They’d mentioned their friend seeing color so they were probably meeting her now. He wished her luck in trying to find whoever her soulmate was. Juvia was having a hard time so he imagined others had similar issues. That caused him a pang of guilt.
“Natsu.” Juvia’s voice cleared his mind and brought him back to focus.
“What’s up?” there was a lull as the cafe emptied; as though they were following the blonde and her group.
“Did you know that Jellal’s back?” no, he hadn’t. Not until now, except that was pretty typical of gramps too. Jellal had been living across the country with his father until now.
“Nah. But you know how gramps is. He doesn’t really explain himself.” he gave a shrug in tangent with his answer.
“Juvia thinks he might work with us on the trafficking case.” she was suddenly back to being soft-spoken even though she had been surprisingly animated with the male from earlier.
“Probably. Didja get that guy’s number?” from the look of surprise, and the immediate flush of her cheeks, he guessed she hadn’t.
In all honesty, they kinda needed the help anyway. Natsu had already been in two brawls since he started two weeks ago. The area was great at looking like a safe middle-class section. But he’d stopped one kidnapping and a mugging since he came here.
------------------------
Lucy hated Blue Pegasus. Hated was a strong word, or so her mom would say, but it was the truth and she wouldn’t lie to herself. She didn’t like coming here for a few reasons. One, her dad caught it on her bank statement and grounded her for a month. Two, the idea and sight of strippers always gave her unease. Three, Hibiki, Eve, and Ren. Her friends called her pure-hearted but they still insisted that she spend her 21st birthday here. So, she did.
Unfortunately.
Her dancers at that time had been Hibiki, Ren, and Eve which was fine until they discovered she was a light-weight. And a touchy one at that. At one point, they became the one receiving the show and she had to be dragged out of the club by Erza, and Levy. Now, every time she saw them she became unbelievably embarrassed.
Coincidentally, this was also where she met Gray. Not on THAT night, but it was a few days after when she’d mustered the courage to come back and apologize to the trio. He worked a different job now, but occasionally he still picked up a shift or two if he needed the extra cash.
“Don’t worry! They’re not here today!” the chipper voice of Blue Pegasus’ owner and bartender rang through the air.
“Master Bob!” surprise was laced in Levy’s voice as she came face to face with Pegasus’ one and only owner.
It wasn’t exactly rare to see the master. In fact, he probably spent most of his waking hours behind the bar even though all of his staff could make drinks and were certified to do so.
“What is my favorite worker doing here on his day off?” Master Bob’s voice was always high-pitched and sing-songy. While most thought it could be annoying, they actually enjoyed it. Master Bob was a happy man, and as such, he exuded that aura which made Blue Pegasus a comfortable location to visit.
Really the only thing preventing Lucy from liking the place was her own humiliation.
“Hello, Master.” a curt nod was given to his direction. He gave her a chuckle and a knowing wave before pointing to the door.
She knew it was Erza walking – strutting – in the door like she owned the place. She didn’t but she exuded the aura of dominance which made it hard to tell the difference.
“Erza--!” A man bumped into the blonde’s shoulder and while she’d normally fight for her ‘honor’ this man smelled like a beer refinery. She opted for silence. It also wasn’t hard to recognize the male as a regular here. Lucy had seen him more than enough times and was fairly certain he was in love with Jenny.
The blue-haired male stumbled a bit and then spread his arms as if trying to remain steady. He did, somehow, before continuing on. Really, nothing about him was attractive. In fact, she thought his appearance, and demeanor, both sucked. He even had a tattoo of an ‘X’ above his eyebrow. Speaking of eyebrows: hideous.
An obnoxious snort rolled from her lips and Levy clicked her tongue. Gray did nothing, as per usual, but his posture had changed to one a slight bit more aggressive.
“Lucy. It’s good to see you.” Erza’s voice wasn’t loud, per se, but it was commanding. Deep, but soft. If that made any sense. It wasn’t something that Lucy herself would put on paper. In fact, she’d probably skirt around the subject entirely.
“Is there a problem?” the redhead drew her back from the contemplation inside her mind: fight or flight? In the end, wasn’t it always flight that won?
“No, everything’s okay. Right guys?” the blonde prompted for answers.
“Yeah. Men with ugly eyebrows definitely didn’t walk off drunk.” Levy’s sass was newfound to Lucy. The blunette wasn’t normally this saucy but she’d been hanging out with some man she’d discovered in a bar a week or to ago. Lucy didn’t know who and Levy wasn’t providing the information so the pair was at an impasse. All she knew was he was ripped with piercings. He looked like the guy her dad warned her about on many an occasion.
“Definitely didn’t run into anyone, either.” Gray’s backup was quick; no hesitation.
Erza remained quizzical for the most part. She gave a casual glance to the man with ugly eyebrows. The redhead really wasn’t too focused on it, Levy had been oddly specific. She tensed as he threw an arm over a woman’s shoulder but, upon seeing it was consensual, she let it go. Truly, it wasn’t the group’s business.
“So, Erza. What’s up?” it was Levy who broke the red head’s thoughts and brought her back to the issue at hand. The blue-haired male disappeared in the crowd which aided in the loss of her attention.
“Yes, I’m actually quite excited.” her face lit up. Though, it wasn’t like a little kid on their birthday. More like, someone who got a small promotion and was celebrated with a beer. I
The group waited in hopes it would prompt her to continue.
“Colors. It seems faded at best but… I can see them.” No one spoke for a moment. Faded could mean one of two things. He was coming near to her, possibly even the same city, or he was passing through on his way out of the area. They all hoped for the former.
“This is a good thing right?” Levy prompted the question. ‘Did she want this?’
“I think so.” Truth be told she wasn’t sure. The thing about soulmates was that you had to meet them in some capacity. It wasn’t like you had to speak to them. It could be simply passing by, a bump on the shoulder, a one-time meeting on the playground as children. You never really know.
Did she want to know a man she could’ve met briefly as a child? Passed by in a coffee shop? She didn’t know.
A/N:

 Geoff doesn’t make a habit of coming down to the pirate’s grotto. No, he had very good reasons not to step foot in these intricate cave systems.
What, with him being the king and all.
At least he had the common sense to change. Fine robes and flashy jewelry was traded for rags and a cloak. He even cut down most of his beard in an attempt to blend in better. The skulls carved into the crashed ships wood make him feel like he’s being watched with every corner he turns. He’s going to get himself killed.
Scratch that.
Gavin is going to get him killed.
As he wades through the mass of pirate bodies screaming drunkenly, he barely catches the flash of red as a fox makes his way between leather boots. He grumbles under his breath and pushes past two burly pirates. It’s hard not to scream out in frustration. To use his status as ing would sturr up far too much. Doing that really would get him killed. ( Worst case: death. Better case: held hostage. )
They’re insufferable, and smelly, and loud, and-
Geoff’s train of thought halts as he steps down into the area where the mouth of the cave meets the ocean. There’s a half sunken ship sitting off to the side with plenty of gold and chests rotting away beneath the sea. Bridges hung high past it’s crows nest with pirates walking across it with ease. What has Geoff’s attention, however, past the bustling pirate markets and up a set of steps, was the creature wrapped up in a net, swinging from a hook.
He twists in his confines, hissing and clawing at the spears poking through the net. It isn’t until he’s left alone that Geoff dares to move closer.
Blue eyes latch to him. A sharp-toothed grin sets on the mermaid’s face. He twists once more to press his face against the rope, giving Geoff a better view.
“Hello, your majesty,” He purrs lowly.
Geoff can’t hide his surprise, nervously pulling his hood closer to his face. He glances around but no eyes seem to be on them. So he looks back and before he can speak, the mermaid laughs.
“You can change your hair but only a fool wouldn’t recognize your eyes,” He reaches through the net, long scaly hands pointing towards blue eyes. He grins, showing off his teeth once again that has Geoff swallowing in discomfort. Yet he doesn’t flinch.
He feels something compelling him to step forward. The cold of nails press against his cheeks; their eyes lock. Geoff is a simple king. A fool at times, sure, but he can’t help the way his heart breaks as those pride blue eyes fill with sadness. He reaches up to hold his hand, leaning in slightly to the touch.
It’s gone as quickly as it came. Geoff reels back when a familiar weight drops onto his shoulder. He turns to see Gavin, fox fur bristling in anger, teeth bared to the mermaid who in turn hisses right back.
“What are you doing Geoff?” He whispers angrily into the king's ear. “We’re here to find your treasure, not flirt with fish!”
“You! You’re the one stealing my fish!” Ryan moves to try and swat at Gavin. Geoff steps back, his own face barely missing claws. Gavin hisses in his ear to move it before jumping off to run. They’re going to attract attention. He pulls his hood over further and spares just a glance back. Like a coward, he bolts.
It takes days to forget his face, let alone those vibrant blue eyes; they haunt Geoff for quite some time. He shouldn’t have lingered around to listen in on drunken ramblings from pirates but intrigue had kept him rooted to the floor of the makeshift pub. Each little tale of mermaids had him thinking back to the one in the net. They would clink their cups together and laugh at their victory while his heart clenched in his chest. A fearsome, man eating creature of the sea was reduced to hissing like some water-logged cat. All for the possible taste of knowing the future.
To say the least, Geoff’s attempts to shake every thought of him may have been weak. Every so often he found his thoughts wandering back. And every so often he found himself taking far too many walks along the beach like some hopeless romantic, staring out at the ocean.
He lets out a tired sigh before he turns away. A rock tumbles across the way, catching his attention. When he turns back, water splashes in his face. Geoff sputters. He wipes away the water frantically from his eyes.
There’s the mermaid from the grotto wearing that same damn smirk as the day they met. Though, he was a little more banged up compared to the last time. Geoff could see a scar now sat across his eyebrow and several across his arms.
The king does nothing to hide his surprise.
“How in the hell did you get out?” He asks, taking a step towards the ocean.
“I convinced a maiden to spend all her gold on me.”
Geoff found that hard to believe. He scoffs. ‘Convinced’ made it sound like she willingly did it. With how easy it was to get sucked into his words that day, Geoff’s not sure the maiden, or if it was just a pirate, did it of their own volition. “And you decided to come back here to the same area where you were captured?”
“It keeps things interesting.” And the bastard had the gall to wink.
Geoff runs his hands down his face.
He’s not going to sit here and get charmed by the mermaid. Not again. He turns to stomp away but gets splashed by water again.
“Hey! Tell your pet not to steal my fish!” The mermaid shouts.
“Go bother someone else, mermaid,” Geoff says angrily, keeping his gaze straight.
“It’s Ryan!”
“What kind of mermaid name is that?!”
“Fuck you! What kinda name is Geoffrey?!” The mermaid- Ryan, throws a rock at the back of him again.
Geoff does the childish thing and throws it right back. He misses as the mermaid dives back underwater.
Ryan’s giggling follows him all the way back to the castle.
So much for getting the mermaid out of his head. Now that he knows his name, it makes it harder to do so. He rubs his tired eyes with a groan.
Yet, they keep coming back, making a habit out of it.
Somehow Geoff always finds himself walking along the beach time and time again. They always end up spending time together. It’s not easy. Geoff’s still a king after all. He still has duties to attend to but on some occasions he’s free, when the weather is nice, he’s out on the beach. He’s utterly charmed by the man.
Like any other day, Ryan slides up on the beach. He watches as Geoff raises the book over his head to avoid getting water on it. With a smile, turning to look up at him, he rests his head on his hands dopely. His tail bats against the sand lightly, almost like a dog happy to see his owner.
However, his smile drops when he notes the serious look on Geoff’s face. It’s not his typical concentrated look when he reads a book. Ryan rests his chin on Geoff’s arm, gently rubbing him as he looks up.
“I have to go away for a few days,” Geoff says after a moment. He closes his book with a sigh. “It’s some stupid meeting with a few nobles complaining about pirate problems they can’t deal with on their own.”
Ryan perks up. “You should let me come with you.”
It wasn’t his intentions but it makes Geoff laugh. He places the book down on his chest and despite the fond look in his eyes, it doesn’t make Ryan feel any better.
“Where are you going to go, Ryan? There’s no rivers up north and even then it’s freshwater,” Geoff reaches up to pet the mermaid’s cheek. “The last thing I need is you to get sick or something stupid.”
“But-”
“No, end of discussion. Stay here and watch over Gavin.” The mention of the name makes Ryan pull a face of disgust. It quickly fades when Geoff laughs again, gently putting their heads together.
“I hate that fox,” Ryan grumbles, pouting like a child. Still, he concedes, nuzzling his head against Geoff’s. He makes a soft clicking noise and then pulls back.
“He’s not any better when he’s human,” Geoff jokes, shaking his head. He pushes the hair from Ryan’s face to behind his ear, holding it gently in his hand. He wants to kiss away the frown on his face. It’s not like he can transport Ryan. Unless he miraculously grows legs. Trying not to snicker at the thought, he distracts himself by rubbing his thumb along Ryan’s bottom lip. The desire to kiss him rises in his chest but he refrains and pulls away. “I won’t be gone long.”
He didn’t want to go either. Just the thought of it was giving him a headache.Was it too much to ask just a few people to run a damn city without issues? The pirate and thieves problem has gotten too far out of hand but maybe that’s his fault. It doesn’t make him want to deal with any more than before.
Which is why when he heads up to the door, he’s a miserable looking mess. While he’s dressed professionally, he’s too exhausted from the trip over to look presentable. At least, not until the doors open to reveal a nervous looking man. Geoff should’ve taken the time to remember his name. Thankfully, his tired smile is lost on Mr. Mouse as he ushers him inside.
He politely fights off drinks and foods, listening to stuttering rambling as they walk down an insufferable amount of hallways. Nothing that came out of the mouse’s mouth seems important. Geoff’s no even sure the guy said ‘pirate’ once which now that he thinks about it seems very odd.
Then he finds out why really quickly. His own knights are held at gunpoint when he turns around. Mr. Mouse is groveling at his feet, asking for forgiveness; some bullshit about having no choice spewing out of his mouth. Pirates are by all means the most annoying thing he’s ever had the displeasure of meeting.
“Oh Geoff,” He says in defeat.
Something whacks him over the head and he’s out.
Trying to keep himself busy in Geoff’s absence felt unusually difficult. Time seems to crawl by. He would’ve spent more time with Jon & Jeremy if they didn’t continue teasing him over it. He did not have a crush god damn it! He wasn’t some pup.
Though, Ryan couldn’t say he wasn’t acting like a child as he sat himself on the beach, pouting. Every so often he’ll glance up at the castle, expecting to see Geoff making his way down the steps. With a storm coming in, black clouds moving in the distance, he knew the king wouldn’t come. The waves were battering the shore as the winds pick up.
It hasn’t even been a fortnight either and yet he still aches with loneliness.
He spares another glance to the castle just in time to see a figure sprint towards the little dock. From here, Ryan can tell it’s not Geoff; whoever it is, they’re too scrawny. Still, he pulls himself off the beach to investigate. The human is either incredibly brave or stupid and he might want to figure it out since they hop into a rowboat.
As he swims closer, staying under for a bit, he catches a flash of familiar green eyes glowing as the world around them continues to grow dark. He pulls himself out of the water to grab the  wood, nearly dragging the boat under from the sudden force as he stops it. “Fox! What are you doing?!”
Gavin squawks in a panic, trying to catch his balance. Shock quickly flashes on his face before he realizes what’s going on. He tries to bat the oar at him. “It’s none of your business Fish!”
“Are you an idiot! Go back to the shore, there’s a storm coming!”
“I can’t, I have to save Geoff!”
Blue eyes widen. Lightning cracks from a distance.
Ryan’s head snaps to the side, spotting the pirate ship not far out. How had he not seen it before?  He doesn’t give Gavin any time as he pushes the boat roughly, forcing him to face the shore. “I have this, go back before you get yourself killed!” And with that, he swims.
Despite the chaotic waves and the violent winds, he makes it to the boat, watching it rock against the sea. His claws curl into the wood sides to keep him from floating away.
“You’ve got all the gold you need and you dumb fucks don’t bother buying a house?!” Ryan hears Geoff screaming from up top and he tries not to laugh. Of course he’s like this.
He blames the rain and sea water for his eyes going strangely blurry as he fights down a hiccup of a cry. Thunder booms around them. His eyes start to glow bright like the lightning flashing around him. Newfound strength has him diving under the ship to pull it apart plank by plank. He doesn’t stop either. Even with the ship now taking in more water he continues to tear it apart beneath them.
The ship starts to capsize. Screams of pirates muffle when their bodies hit water.
The force of the fall knocks the air out of Geoff when he too hits water. He fights against the ropes tying his hands behind his back. His legs kick weakly to push himself to the surface. He’s sinking too fast. The crows nest barely misses him as the ship turns completely over. It blocks Geoff’s way to the surface.
Flashes of lighting momentarily give Geoff sight under the dark waters. Blood is everywhere, diluted by it but still very present. He catches the faintest sight of Ryan between these flashes tearing men limb from limb. The last thing he ever imagines seeing is glowing blue eyes boring holes in his head.
His head is pounding. Still, he wouldn’t let any water in. Not until the very last second.
Then he feels air filling his lungs, light being breathed into him as the pain in his head subsides. He opens his eyes to see Ryan kissing him. When they part, Ryan’s eyes aren’t glowing anymore but hope fills them when Geoff starts coughing up water, heaving.
“The pirates-” Geoff tries to say, wanting to stand. Ryan holds him down.
“I took care of it,” The mermaid brushed Geoff’s bangs from his face, just like the king would do for him. It’s to no avail with the rain continuously pouring down on them. He laughs a bit, pushing his forehead against his. Emotion overwhelms him and before Ryan knows it, he’s crying. Relief washes over him like the waves battering against his backs. “I thought I lost you,” He says, voice watery like his tears.
He’s faintly aware of Geoff mumbling to him, petting his hair, telling him reassuring words that make his heart swell. He’s still there. He’s not going anywhere. Of course Geoff is too stubborn to die. It makes him laugh again.
“Kiss me again,” Geoff says quietly. They stare at each other for a moment. Smiles spread on their faces.
Ryan happily obliges.
Just like before, he doesn’t hesitate to bring their lips together. Geoff wraps his arms around Ryan’s neck, deepening the kiss. They’re not exactly careful with it considering Ryan’s sharp teeth scrape against his lips. It’s not enough to bring blood to the surface but he feels the way Geoff shudders and moans under him. He can’t help smirking into their kiss, letting his eyes flutter shut.
Content washes over him.
He’s only faintly aware that the storm calms down when they part once again. Geoff’s breath is still hot on his lips.
“You should head back before you get sick,” Ryan says as he pushes himself off the king. “And hey, next time? Don’t go where I can’t follow.”
Geoff laughs loudly. It makes both their chests warm and a blush spreads across Ryan’s cheeks. He presses a kiss to his forehead. “Sure thing.”

Indecent Proposal - Chapter 5
Read from the beginning
Read Chapter 4
Jared’s POV
“Wow, that was crazy,” Melody said as we were driving away from the restaurant.
“You haven’t seen anything yet. Just wait until I post that pic of us holding hands,” I said and chuckled, “That’s when the real madness will begin.”
“You’re not helping,” she said obviously terrified.
“Relax, you’ll get the hang of it eventually,” I said and continued to drive.
“I’m not so sure. I never wanted to be under the spotlight,” she said and sighed, clearly worried about the way our situation will develop in the future. Somehow I felt like I should maybe comfort her, but I went with my incessant need to pick on her.
“Well, I guess you’re just gonna have to suck it up, won’t you now, wifey,” I said never taking my eyes of the road.
But the moment I finished the sentence I felt a pit in my stomach. This didn’t feel right, as it would usually do, when I tried to make her feel bad. I could feel the despise coming from her eyes, even though I wasn’t looking at her. This felt even worse, but I just ignored the feeling and kept driving.
We remained silent for the rest of the ride. Luckily, her apartment wasn’t too far away from the restaurant, so we didn’t have to coexist in that awkward silence much longer. After a couple of minutes we were in front of Melody’s building.
“Thanks for the ride,” she said and opened the door, slowly stepping out of the car. I thought she’d say “goodbye” or something, so I just kept quiet. However, she just turned and I saw she was about to shut the door.
“You’re wel...” BAM! She slammed the door in the middle of my sentence “...welcome,” I whispered and looked at her entering the building, all devastated and confused.
“Hey bro. How did it go?” Shannon was sitting in the living room with Emma, talking about our next trip to NY.
“Fine, I guess,” I said and plopped on the couch. This lunch was kinda exhausting.
“Details, Jared, we need details,” Emma said and put away her lap top.
“She said yes, we’re announcing the engagement tonight, she’s moving in tomorrow. Satisfied?”  I asked and raised my eyebrows, obviously annoyed.
“Good. Now I can plan the wedding,” Emma said and took her phone.
“Just please as smaller and intimate as possible...” I suggested and then remembered why we’re doing this in the first place “...or whatever you feel it has to be,” I added and leaned my head against the back of the couch closing my eyes for a moment.
“So, how did the future Mrs. Leto reacted to the whole arrangement?” Shannon asked me and as he said Mrs. Leto, my heart skipped a beat  “Things are moving kinda fast, huh?”
“She thought that too, but I explained that’s what we have to do, and she was fine,” I was trying to be brief.
“Hmm, you’re awfully secretive. What’s going on in that head of yours, little brother?”
“I’m just tired and overwhelmed. Oh, and not to mention, I’m getting a wife in 10 days, my life turned upside down and all that,” I sapped at Shannon and got off the bed heading outside for some air.
A wife. I’m gonna have a wife. This was so crazy, that it somehow made me feel comfortable from time to time. The more I thought about it, the more I grew to like the idea. I’ve always thought about settling down, but not one girl was able to do that. And now when I think about my life with Melody, I can feel this strange warm feeling in my stomach. Like it’s the right thing to do. She does, however, look like a type of women who’ll know to take care of her man. Too bad our marriage won’t be like that, but maybe she learns to feel a bit less repulsed by me.
Suddenly I heard a door opening.
“You OK”, Shannon walked behind me, tapping me on the shoulder.
“Yeah, just thinking”.
“About Melody?”
“Yeah,” I said and chuckled, “She’s so innocent in all this, so devastated and confused I think.... and I didn’t do a damn thing to make her feel more comfortable,” I said and set by the pool dipping my legs in the water.
“Do I hear a guilty conscious speaking? ” Shannon asked and sat right next to me.
“Maybe... a little, I don’t know. All I do know is that I simply can’t help it. Whenever I’m around her I just push her away with my behavior”.
“That’s what you call a defense mechanism, brother,” Shannon said and splashed a bit of water with his feet. I looked at him confused, waiting to hear an explanation.
“What do you mean...” I said and raised my eyebrows pointing the obvious. I had no idea what he meant by that statement.
“You’re afraid of commitment.”
“Really? That’s your big answer? ” I said and giggled.
“Mhm. You’re deliberately teasing her and doing everything in your power to make her hate you, so she doesn’t fall for you. Because if she loves you back, you’ll have to commit and engage in a relationship, which terrifies you in the first place, considering you’re living this life of a rock star/actor/ whatever celebrity person, ” Shannon said and his words suddenly made sense. I didn’t say a word, just tried to wrap my head around all this.
“Um... when did you get your psychology degree, if I may ask,” I was trying to be funny.
“Ha, ha ... make fun all you want, but you know I’m right”.
“Oh, and what did you mean by, love me back”
“Don’t play dumb with me little bro. As I mentioned the other day, we all know you have feelings for Melody. If it was subconscious before, now it’s definitely lurking around your mind, and your heart of course.”
“Don’t be ridiculous,” I tried to deny it, but I knew it was in vain. Shannon knew me better than anyone else did, and the only one ridiculous in this conversation was I.
“Whatever you say, J” Shannon smiled at me, knowing I bluffed. “So, where’s the lucky girl now? Why didn’t she come over?”
“You’re kidding right? I’m sure she’ll only spend the nights in this house after we get married. She can barely look at me right now.”
“It’s funny though. I’ve been thinking, and we don’t actually know a single important thing about her. Where she’s from, what’s her family like, what’s she into... you know? We never managed to bond with her, like we did with Emma,” Shannon acknowledged and I thought about what Emma said the other day.
“Actually, Emma told me yesterday that Melody doesn’t have a family, but I didn’t get the chance to ask how come,” I was a bit sad about it. This made me feel even worse about giving Melody such a hard time every day.
“Wow, that’s terrible. Well, you’ll just have to get to know her better, then. And make her life much more bearable. Got it?” Shannon was kinda protective over Melody all of a sudden.
“I guess I’ll try,” I said and took a deep breath. Then I started to think about her life.
What happened to her family? What did she do when she wasn’t working? Does she have a bunch of friends, or just a couple? Does she like to socialize or not? Having in mind that she always appeared shy and delicate, I assumed she didn’t like to be surrounded by a sea of people. But who knows, that brave confident Melody from this morning did leave a strong impression on me.
But then again, the fragile, tender Melody from the lunch, that was all alone in the world, and needed someone to take care of her, appeared even more attractive. This girl made me feel both like I want to hug her and save her from the big bad world, but at times I just couldn’t help but tease and pick on her. Why was I experiencing so many different emotions all at once?
Melody’s POV
I was finally back in my apartment. This lunch was by far the most emotional I’ve had in my life. Is this what the next year is gonna be like? All acting and false pretenses? I feel like I’m already losing my mind when I try to put on a brave face, and convince Jared I’m stronger than I actually am. I never lied, made things up and had the need to be somebody I’m not. This is not gonna be at all easy for me. Jared must be thrilled to act around and put himself in a whole new challenge with the role of a happy hubby, but I’m not an actress. I hate pretending to be the person I’m not, and will never be even close to. But I guess I’m gonna have to be an Oscar worthy actress, if I want to help Jamie. All I have to think about is him. This is all for his sake, and so that I can see him happy, healthy and with his family.
I changed to more comfortable clothes, and took my phone to call Emma. I needed tomorrow morning free, because of Jamie’s surgery, and I was hoping she’d understand.
“Hey Emma, it’s Melody”
“Hi, doll, what’s up?” she asked me and I could hear her moving. Was she still with Jared, and she didn’t want him to know I was calling?
“I was wondering if I could get tomorrow morning free? I know I was absent today, unplanned, but I have kind of an emergency in the morning, so...”
“Is it something serious?”, she sounded worried.
“Um... yes, something like that, but I can’t really tell you what it’s about. I mean, I’m fine, don’t worry, I just need the morning free. Is that OK?”
“Sure, you can take the entire day off. But you’re working overtime after that.” , she chuckled, I knew she would never hold that against me. She was such a sweetheart. Plus I’ve never had an unplanned day off before, so this was really a unique opportunity.
“Thank you, thank you, thank you. I’ll make it up to you, I promise,” I smiled and sighed in relief.
“No worries, see you in two days”, Emma said and hung up.
The next morning
I had barely slept last night, I was too nervous about Jamie’s surgery. I couldn’t wait for my alarm to go off so I could get up, take a shower, and go to the hospital. When it finally signalized, I jumped off the bed, hit the bathroom, and was done literally in 10 minutes. I decided to have coffee at the hospital; I couldn’t wait to be there by Karen’s side. She needed all the support in the world. Knowing that your husband’s and son’s lives hang by a thread, and all you can do is sit and wait is by far the worst feeling in the world, I imagine.
I threw on my black leather pants, grey t-shirt and black leather jacket with my black sneaker wedges. That was the most comfortable yet decent enough for the hospital, and in case Emma needed me to come to work. I took my plaid scarf because the weather was cloudy and windy, and it seemed like the rain might start any minute. The day seemed to perfectly describe the way I felt inside. Gloomy, worried, devastated and full of fear.
When I got into the hospital I saw the doctors taking Jamie to the surgery, I didn’t even managed to tell him anything. Karen was standing in front of Jamie’s room watching the nurses and doctors take her little boy to the OR. I came close and gave her a hug.
“Melody, you made it” she was relieved she had someone to be with her.
“Of course. I took the day off. How’s Jack?”
“He was OK, they took him in, a couple of minutes ago. This is gonna be really long an tough day” she said and sighed.
“I know. Are you maybe hungry? Do you want to go to the cafeteria and grab something to eat? Or drink coffee maybe?”
“Coffee sounds great,” she said, ”I need something to warm me up”
We went to take some coffee and try to distract one another from the idea that most important persons in our lives were going through most dangerous hours in their lives. We’ve spent two hours chatting, always going back to talk about Jamie and Jack. At one point, we would talk about girl stuff, but somehow we would always go back to the two of them, and then we’d cry a bit; just the mere thought something might go wrong during the surgery drived us both crazy. At one point, I heard my phone buzzing. I got a text from Jared.
---
Where are you? Why didn’t you come today?
---
I just ignored it. This was the first time he ever texted me and I get this kind of message. Who did he think he was to ask me something like that? Then I realized he had probably posted the photo from lunch, last night, and I failed to tell him I won’t be at his place before this evening. Still, Jared was the last thing on my mind, and I couldn’t handle dealing with him now. But, Jared being the way he is, he insisted on texting for the next half hour, with me still ignoring
---
Why aren’t you answering me?
---
Where the hell are you?
---
Are you seriously ignoring my messages?
---
Emma just told me you are coming tonight. We’ll need to talk about that.
---
After half an hour the messages finally stopped, then Jared called me. I ignored the call as well. I was so not in any condition to talk to him right now. Why was he so persistent? It’s not like the world would end if I didn’t answer him. Plus, if Emma told him I checked in with her, what was the big deal I didn’t answer him.
Another hour had gone by, and Karen and I became more nervous by the minute. We were sitting in front of the OR, then pacing in front of it, then just leaned against the wall, and at some point, I was even sitting on the floor. The anticipation was killing us. No doctor, no nurse, nobody would come to tell us anything, and we somehow thought that was a good thing. It probably meant the surgery was going as planned...
But then the doctor stepped out of the OR with the most terrifying look on his face. Karen and I got up, looked at each other, and hugged. Our hearts raced like crazy, the doctor seemed as if he was walking in slow motion. He huffed and wiped his forehead as he was stepping towards us, clearly nervous and overwhelmed.
