My headcanon is that Hidan was relatively normal as a child before witnessing all of the Valley of Hell horrors, yet he probably didn't get along well with his peers from the academy (since he can't use jutsus, and his personality kinda sucks)

My understanding of the Valley of Hell bit is that he witnessed human cruelty, and the "neighbours killing neighbours" part of Jashinism clicked for him in the future cause of that (I'm probably not explaining what I'm thinking well enough, my brain is full of thoughts but I can't type them out dhshsbxb)

ps: I'm not even sure if I'm convinced that Jashinism is a real thing in universe and that Hidan didn't just make it up to explain his kekkei genkai to himself after a traumatising situation

Kakuzu:

As for Kakuzu, he probably grew up in a lower middle class (maybe lower class?) household, probably struggling with money. Maybe his parents relied on him getting a good education so that he would go further in the life, and put pressure on him, to motivate him to escape the current socioeconomic state of their family? Idk:")

Maybe even more pressure was on him since he was considered talented? (I mean, his village did send him to fight the first hokage so he had to be the strongest one there)

Another headcanon for him is that he used to be quite small for his age, cause he didn't get enough quality nutrition

Anyways, he gives off a vibe of a bookworm who would spend all his time studying/reading literature

And for the end Deidara:

He seems like one of the kinda creepy art kids, that sits in mud all day and makes random things from it, very tbh creature core, but if anyone came up to him he'd probably gladly talk to them (he gives off very excitable energy)

I think his parents made him tie up his hair so it didn't get as dirty as it would otherwise

Since his village kinda specialises in brigades of people who all have the same kekkei genkai, you'd think that everyone born with strong enough abilities would be honored to be a part of that, but Deidara wants to be a demolition artist, not a mindless demolitionist so he probably skips classes regularly to work on his art, as that's what's most important to him

I was arguing with my friend about whether Jiraiya (him) or Kakashi (me) is the better character and it’s just so baffling we even had to argue at all.

Like yeah Jiraiya had some cute moments with naruto and interesting skills, but besides that his character was kinda crap. Like my main point was how uncomfortable Jiraiya was to watch, which ik was largely for comedic value but that doesn’t rly change the fact he abandoned Naruto for years, only taught him like four things, kept fucking off while they were on the training trip, never told naruto he was his godfather while alive, and kept perving on Naruto’s sexy-jutsu form??? And I acknowledge Kakashi is a deeply flawed character too, but I never actually felt uncomfortable just watching him. But yeah when it comes to Kakashi vs Jiraiya and perversion specifically I've always found that Kakashi is actually an example of a perverted character done correctly, which is part of the appeal he has to so many, because the way he expresses his perversion is victimless.

Meanwhile, Jiraiya's perversions normally end up with someone being victimized somehow.

Hey all, Gren here. I know its been a bit since I've properly posted, and frankly, you're not wrong at all. Life's been busy, and with the rate I'm going at (going to college and whatnot, middle of the school year shenanigans,) there's no way in hell I'll be able to keep the once-a-week posting that I've done. Also, life's been hitting me HELLA hard recently, so motivation is also not there. If YKYK.

Which leads to an announcement that I made before: I won't exactly be posting weekly anymore. I'll just... post whenever I feel like it nowadays. But enough on that. I'm here to ramble. This won't be a Waku Puyo Extras thing or whatever, literally just things I wanna show and explain some nonsense. There's no formula. Enjoy.

I've been working on this stuff since April of last year, and it's been going decently well, people partially know my works. Now, what in the world do I want to show y'all this time around, since I got free will?

Well for one, I'd you've been following my work for a bit, you'd know about the pain that was finding Madou Sugoroku content, that game was so elusive to me that I was convinced it wasn't real for a period of time.

Uh, yeah. It's real. Very, very much real. And man do I love the style of the game. It's so dang pretty. I'll mention gameplay some other time, I'll cover it another time, but today's not that day.

Also. Arle's fit.

It's basically Schezo's clothes but it looks so damn good. No complaints here. Though I do wonder how she got it.

I do want to mention the Pairs though. Arle/Satan is fine, Witch/Draco have been paired since like Saturn, Schezo/Incubus at least have Waku Puyo, Minotauros/Rulue is obligatory, but what the FUCK is going on with the pairing of Sasori Man/Zoh Daimoh? The fact they got two word names?

I do wish that Draco just had a little bit more than what she has currently. I love her, she's a funny person and whatnot, I just wish there was...more, you know?

She's been a character I've been wanting to cover for god knows how long, it's just I've never had enough unique things to talk about with her. Lotta the stuff is things we do know, or Puyo Puyo Tetris [2] sorta just making her beauty obsessed.

Least in Waku Puyo, she has some comedic scenes, canonically being able to make 5 chains and confusing Schezo at least 3 times. And in the manga, she bounces off Rulue and Minotauros decently, her fight was fun to read.

(Don't ask how Rulue learned Shadow Clone Jutsu)

And for a second, let me say that the designs in this manga are top-notch. Witch's redesign is nice, Rulue's looks really good, Draco's design is great, Schezo consistently has the best clothes, and Lagnus... somehow looks even better.

Oh yea, speaking of Draco, let's look at someone who sorta kinda maybe perchance looks like her but is actually from JUMP HERO.

... I'm awful with transitions. We're talking about the series. Sorta.

Brief Description:

Chihiro has black hair, and she keeps it long and fluffy as per tradition in her clan. She has pale skin and blue eyes.

She comes from an ancient shinobi clan, whose Kekkei Genkai allows them to fully transform into animals as well as call upon local wildlife for assistance (usually for recon and spying; combat not too often). According to clan legend, their founder was a wolf god, so the wolf is often used as a symbol of the clan; they also have close relations to a wolf pack in the mountains who say that their founder was the same god. what do you like most about Juvia? and what's your favorite ship of Juvia (with someone?)

OHHH JUVIA... JUVIA.... I complain a lot about her, especially the way she's written post series 1 😭 I'm not a big fan of her obsession with Gray (& how that's her entire personality now 😨) BUT YEAH shes still one of my favorites;;;;;

It's mainly her idea / concept / potential that i fell in love with, which sadly never got explored much in the series, BUT here's a list of stuff I loved about her canonically in no particular order (+ the ships);

Her backstory and her arc during Phantom Lord. I lovee how her and Gray's fight was resolved, I'm so happy she finally got to see a clear and bright sky after YEARS of thinking she'll never see it because of how awfully she's been treated by people around her for something she couldn't control, I think it was beautiful!!! And she definitely deserved it!!!! I could relate to it a lot too 😭

She LOVES her friends as much as everyone else in FT does, it just doesn't seem like it because of her. Thing. With calling people her "love rival," at least before series 2. ->

The series' first ever unison raid being hers and Lucys??? ICONIC. I'M GOING TO BITE A TABLE. Her self sacrifice to get Cana out of Freed's jutsu shiki??? DEVASTATINGLY SWEET. Getting Gajeel to join her in Fairy Tail because she was worried he wouldn't find / be accepted in any other guild??? ALSO REALLY SWEET, GOD. Her team ups with Lisanna during Tenrou and Alvarez??? VERY CUTE 10/10 WE NEED MORE.

If it isn't obvious enough, she actually does have a really cute and funny character (As long as shes not doing anything relating to Gray for once)!!!! And I love that contrast between her new brighter and more cheery personality and her older, quiter and depressed one. Its really sweet. I love her character arc a lot ok. I love how she actually doesnt like swimming despite her element being water and how shes awful at baking!!!! Go girl!!! Give us nothing!!! I lovee how shes not above doing anything dumb with her friends (Like with Gajeel, especially) shes fun I miss her ☝️

Her design(s) ??? Have you seen her??? She's serving 24/7. A unique silhouette every time too. Phantom Lord fit? A slay, a definitive classic, love the europe-ness of it, really fits her constant rain thing she had going on. The teru teru bozu on her was adorable and sad at the same time. So good she came back to wearing it after Edolas Arc (this was apparently a warning). Her outfit once she joins Fairy Tail??? ADORABLE! THE DRESS WAS UNIQUE!! THE SHORT HAIR WAS A SLAY. I'd say it counts as a 'meaningful hair cut' even when we never got to see her cut it or why she did but narratively it did show that she was starting a new life 🫶 I dont think i need to say much about her fits after Tenrou, they look really good and comfy 😌 And I love her long hair too, not as much as her short hair but its cute how it kinda looks like water, intentional or not. Shes one of the few women in FT who hasn't come down with a nasty case of 'Mashima's Same Face Syndrome Post GMG' but she was still affected by it. Also i love her long boots and furs..

Phantom Lord Juvia was reallyy cool too, before she got a redemption and all. Look at her!!! How powerful and mysterious she seemed!!!! The dark blues / black outfit... the rain following her wherever she goes, how she was one of the strongest people in Phantom, again, the teru teru bozu, her constantly stone cold face, dark eyes, how ominous she was- she was Leaking 'Power' at that point and I kinda miss her intimidating presence :( I love how scary she was and could be sometimes

Her arc with Meredy,,, I dont know how to articulate my thoughts on their fight nor am i confident enough that the stuff im thinking of actually happened / was there (Like her recognizing that Meredys situation was awful, did Juvia even ever learned about her past??) (Been a while since I rewatched/read it, my bad) but the hug did stood out to me. Usually the fights would end with someone or both or more on the floor / ground, regardless of the characters, but this time Juvia just hugs her, and Meredy cries and its just ??? 🥹🥹🥹 AND THEY HUG EVERYTIME THEY SEE EACHOTHER AFTER A LONG TIME TOO AFTER THAT,,, ITS REALLY CUTE... also i think its cool that Mashima changed it so it ended like that because of a flood that happened.

Her magic seems really flexible and awesome, no wonder she was part of the elemental four and an S-class candidate- Girl!! She's weaponizing pressurized water!!! You can't just get hit by them and expect yourself to be okay just because its water!!! She could just drown people soo easily using waterlock or send them back MILES using. That attack I forgot the name of. She could just "disappear" by turning into puddle and reappear and surprise people the same way!!!! You cant attack her using physical objects, it would just phase through her!!!! She can flood entire arenas!!!!! The fact that should apparently control the temperature / heat of the water too!?? Girl!!! Use it more!!!! Hate how it was shown once during phantom but never mentioned again, that would've been so useful. Mashima knew she would've been unstoppable if she was used to her fullest potential so she was nerfed like every other characters whos ever gotten a redemption.

Okay apparently i like her more than I thought. Let's not mention the stalking bit. I think its creepy. But yeah!!! Love her character!!

As for ships, I'm not that picky with ships involving her (Reason being im never sure if i ship them for romantic reasons or if its because i think they wouldve been funny), just make sure it isn't Gray, also I tend to ship her with women more & headcanon that shes a lesbian!

My favorites are obviously luvia (Lucy) and lisvia (Lisanna) or lulivia (POLYCULE‼️‼️) I just think they're neat and like really sweet aauagh. Something about these two girls accepting her almost immediately, how they like talking about love a lot, Lucy & Lisanna teaching her how to bake, the beach trips, the sleepovers would've been legendary..... so would the dates.......... think about it,,, The iconic-ness of the first ever unison raid from luvia.... the Juvia/Lisanna team up during tenrou.... the spite from shipping something against the majority of the fandom,,,,, Come down here into this cellar with me...

I also like ervia a lot, they have a lot of potential!! I wish we got to see them spar 1 on 1, like before tenrou? Also the scene where Erza conforts her after she failed to give the scarf to Gray 🥹🥹??? Cana and Juvia are also funny and they have GREAT chemistry in canon, most tensioned filled Juvia ship ever & im surprised its not right behind Gruvia as the fandoms favorite Juvia ship.

Lyvia also wouldve been cool!!! I love whenever 2 characters are unhealthy and obsessed with one another, and lyvia could've been that had Juvia reciprocated his feelings. Also seems better than gruvia. Lyon doesn't actually stalk her hes just a simp whenever he spots her.

Meredy/Juvia is cute too (AFTER the timeskip) idk they're adorable. I think the FTGKMR card of Meredy wearing Juvia's clothes sold me on this, because lets be honest if she was wearing Lyon's outfit, the whole fandom would've screeched as well 🙄 you've seen their reaction towards Lucy wearing Natsus vest thing, let me have this. But yeah i see it Less as romantic and more just best friends. Not quite mother/daughter or siblings because i never got the chance to think of it that way too much while watching (Thanks to the timeskip immediately after tenrou too)

Aquarius and Juvia would've been neat to see more of, especially when they got along SO WELL during the short amount of time they talked in the celestial spirit realm 😭 This is kinda a joke ship but yeah i do like it :)

At that time Kakashi was deeply traumatized by what happened to Sakumo so he put his entire focus on trying to be the perfect Shinobi and prove that he won't fail like his dad did so he didn't give himself enough chance to think about anything else other than that, there was no room for romance or anything else.. and that kept dragging on with each new trauma, the poor man kept getting constantly hit with one tragedy after the other and so after Obito's death, that one goal changed from being the perfect Shinobi to protecting everyone and hoping for a better future where no one ever has to get hurt or die like his loved ones did... As much as I too, like you wished to see Kakashi having kids of his own, Kakashi himself gets his happiness from seeing the ppl he loves happy and at peace with their families which are like a family to him too. So yeah, I don't think he's single because he can't get over an old love or anything like that, he just feels content and fulfilled because he did achieve his only dream, his students and friends are fine and alive and happy and the ninja world finally found it's peace and learned to work together for a better future, that's all he ever wished for.

As for how ppl can interact with other ppl after their death, they aren't free to do that whenever they feel like it, no. When Obito died and talked Kakashi for the last time he explained that to Rin by saying that all chakras are connected somehow in the land of living so before he completely moved to the afterlife with the little remaining chakra he still had in the living world he can momentarily contact Kakashi, same thing goes for Minato and Kushina because Minato actually sealed a little bit of their chakra in Naruto before they died and so they were able to contact Naruto momentarily too when their seals were triggered, and same goes for Dan, Asuma and everyone that was reanimated in the war, when the reanimation Jutsu was released they only had a brief moment to talk to their loved ones with their chakra that was brought to the land of living by the reanimation Jutsu before they are forced to go back to the afterlife.

Last Thoughts, Last Dreams.

A/N: Wrote this while listening to Interstellar's main theme, for some reason. But also, in my feels so this kinda came up out of thin air? [Uchiha Itachi fic; gif not mine]

He was not okay. He had never been okay, was what Itachi felt.

His breath shook with every air inhaled, his eyes watery from the stinging pain in his chest. 'I don't want it to end this way,' he thought.

He wanted more time, he told himself. In his mind, he dreamt. 

He dreamt that he was sitting by the cliff, just a little too far from his family’s training grounds. 

He dreamt that his little brother would be calling for his name, asking him to train together, to show Sasuke how to do “shuriken jutsu”, as his brother would always ask of him. 

He dreamt that he could experiment with the rare ingredients, one cooking after another, one dish after another, just so he would know what Sasuke thinks of his cooking. Just so he could hear Sasuke tells him that tomatoes were his favourite food, that Sasuke did not like dango - though much to his dismay. 

He dreamt that his mother would be calling him from the gates of the Uchiha compound. That he would hear her asking “how was your mission?” That he would hear her telling him to take a break as his body was on the verge of breaking down, burning out, exhausted beyond reasonable doubt. 

He dreamt that he would sit on a tree, with his binoculars on, and watch the kids below him. Children of Sasuke’s age, playful banters, immature calls for competition, Sasuke telling his peers off as he “had things to do with his brother.” 

He also dreamt that, in another life, Sakura, having surpassed her apprenticeship status, with hands were on her back, greeting him as she saw him by the window of his favourite teashop. 

The Sakura whom he would see training with Sasuke, seeing his little brother muttering curses as Sasuke asked for chakra techniques from the girl. 

The Sakura who spoke to him more of the random medical theories that she learned. The Sakura that spoke of hope for the children of war, that spoke of belief in Konoha’s healthcare system, a village free of hate, prejudices and unproven need to seek revenge. 

A far fetching, hopeless and surreal dream, all at the same time, but a dream nonetheless, he thought as he laid alone in the dark, coughing whatever that remained in his lungs and he waited. Waited, and waited for the end of his time. 

A far fetching, hopeless and surreal dream. 

‘Forgive me,’ he whispered to no one. 

This is it.

Red Lights and Fox Fire AU during the Gaara rescue arc has me by the throat at the moment.

Kakashi and his Next Gen Sannin team that is only still under him as leader because they want to be sprinting for Sand the second they hear Gaara was taken and wherever they go there are people who see them and know.

Granny Chiyo tries to square up with Kakashi only to be met with the actual white gang reborn in the form of a snarling Sasuke right in her face, daring her to try to attack his brother in law (the facts that Kakashi and Aki aren’t technically married and Sasuke was never officially adopted by Aki in the first place notwithstanding) again. Naruto who rests a hand on Sasuke’s arm with a brilliant smile and cold eyes and he assures them both that any blood spilt today wouldn’t be Kakashi’s. (Those slitted pupils and flashing fangs promised it. There was no missing what he was. Why Konoha had sent him. Only a Jinchuriki could understand a Jinchuriki after all and it’s clear Naruto was willing to hunt Gaara’s captors tot he ends of the earth to get him back.)

Sakura heals Kankuro as normal before they’re ready to head out.

Naruto is at the head of the pack leading them just as much as Kakashi and Sasuke’s summons are. Like he can feel Gaara’s location. Like he’s being dragged there.

Until, all at once, he falls, missing the branch he was going to leap from with a shrill, enraged, shriek clutching his head as he plummets. Pain. Loss. Rage. All in one sound.

Sakura cat he’s him and red eyes look back at her before he forced himself back to his feet.

He knows. They all know.

Still they push on.

(Naruto would want his body brought home. Would die before they let them use Gaara like a fucking puppet like Oro-sensei told him Sasorinliked to do. The master would not get two Kazekage puppets if Naruto had any say in it.)

They run to it Not-Itachi not long after, and Sasuke scoffs.

“You’re not my brother.”

“Excuse me?!”

“Did I stutter? Stop wearing a corpse as a mask and meet me face to face nii-san.”

After a short battle, they end up at the seal with team Guy (with six instead of five this time because I said so) and sasuke just shrugs and take a radio.

(The doppelgänger fight with Sasuke is… far more destructive than any of Team Guy’s fights. He doesn’t seem to have broken a sweat even as he jumps out of the fucking crater him and his double left behind)

Sakura’s fight goes mostly the same with far more singlehanded puppet distraction. (Not many changes can be made when she can’t get hit tbh.)

Naruto and Kakashi wreck Deidara (kinda) and Naruto so about to throw all caution to the wind and use one of Orochimaru’s many forbidden jutsu to bring Gaara back himself when Sakura and Chiyo roll up.

(Sasuke and team guy finish off Deidara for real tbh because Sasuke won’t forget his brother screaming as he realized his friend was dead)

And it’s the first time that anyone outside of Konoha sees these three powerhouses and realizes they are the future.

It would've been really, really funny if Shippuden had a trans character happen without mentioning anything, you're so right about that!

Which character do you think would be the best choice? Mine would've been….. Kabuto, maybe? He just has the range for it I think and saying Orochimaru feels too cheaty lol! Like, why can't we have another villainous female scientist like Karin y'know? I feel if that did happen we'd get to see more than one interaction between the two, at the very least.

Second choice would be Itachi, because like Kabuto, he'd be a prime candidate for World's Worst Eldest Daughter Syndrome™.

Honestly any option can be super funny, imagine you reach the time skip and everything is the same with Rock Lee except she got eyelashes and she/her pronouns and that's like all that changes. Even the crush on Sakura stays the same.

Gai would be the most supportive adoptive dad of a trans kid like you know he'd give entire speeches about Rock Lee blooming or The Power of Youth.

I agree with Kabuto and Itachi, because it would be hilarious yet so angsty. It'd add extra flavor to Itachi's many issues as an Uchiha heir and it'd be totally expected from a disciple of Orochimaru, in Kabuto's case.

If we're talking about canon, then the best option is probably Naruto. He was so fond of his sexy jutsu, I think making him more visibly genderfluid would have been amazing. Totally horrendous in the sense that it implies Naruto figured out his gender identity while traveling with pervert Jiraiya but well, it makes sense if he changed changed on his journey.

Ino would have been cool too. Maybe he never had a crush on Sasuke, maybe it was all gender envy. It'd have been cool to explore because then Shikamaru would have to face the fact boys can act crazy too, it'd totally erase the "boys like girls better when they are skinny" argument and it'd give an extra twist to Ino's rivalry with Sakura. I'd prefer Ino's design to go back to the short hair era, so it wouldn't look too much like Deidara.

Tsunade would be interesting, but only if they revealed in Shippuden she was born a boy and that's why she constantly uses chakra to change her appearance. Listen, she's figuring out a way for top surgery and implants, medical ninjutsu is not quite there but she will find a way, okay?

I meant your top 10 all female characters in naruto and boruto

Oh okay, that gives me more room because there are some female characters that have retired in Boruto so I had to write them out. My final list would be the following and I will repeat the reasons I said in the original post with a few new comments.

10. Sarada Uchiha: I've said before than I'm not the biggest Sarada fan but she's decent. She's the daughter of the strongest couple of Konoha so she's a brilliant student with a lot of potential. I only like how Kishimoto writes her, I have mixed feelings about her in Boruto because sometimes she says really weird stuff that really doesn't make sense. Also, she could be used much more better currently than she is. She stays in my top 10 female characters of the series nonetheless.

9. Chōchō Akimichi: I don't need to say anything because this girl is amazing and it helps a lot that she looks just like her mother. An icon. She needs to learn kenjutsu by the way.

8. Tenten: Truly sad that she's the same background character as ever but I've always liked Tenten. For me, the real ninja of the show who became powerful because of her own hard work. Not enough credit for her when she's Konoha's master of bukijutsu (among hundreds of ninja that use bukijutsu too), and she's the best of them. This girl is the top of something despite being sidelined, yes! She even started her own business from zero and is a proctor for the Chūnin Exams so Tenten is one of the most accomplished kunoichis.

7. Hanabi Hyūga: She has become one of my favorites since Boruto started and I watched it from time to time. First of all, she really surpassed her sister despite being from the branch family (although she never got the curse) at just 3 years old. Starting with the fact that she was a determined Gentle Fist machine, as genin she had the Byakugan perception of an adult and she became the new heiress for the title of head of clan. Those qualities made her a jōnin with her own genin team and she's now in charge of passing down all the jutsu of the clan. It's also described in novels that she still trains to succeed her father as the Head of the Hyūga Clan, one of the noble families with the Akimichi, Uchiha and Aburame; she's a promising character. If they don't show and write this great woman it's because they don't want to.

6. Konan: I've said before that my favorite type of female character is one that can fight for herself and oh my God if this woman isn't op. Konan is one of the coldest females ever, the female of the Akatsuki that ranked above the rest, fought the almighty Obito Uchiha and she delivered the best fight of the show by a female character.

5. Karui Akimichi: Putting her in the fifth place is totally biased because I absolutely love her design. Karui is the most beautiful Naruto girl for me, she's stunning and she's super powerful. Her Lightning Release and kenjutsu are so op for me because they were attributes that I only related to Sasuke but this girl can pull it off too! Also she's fierce and strong, kinda reminds me of Temari in that aspect so she gets all the points for me. I seriously wish she goes on missions again and joins inosakutema's girlfriend group.

4. Tsunade: The first woman Hokage is among the best characters in Naruto ever. She's pretty, she's the most powerful woman in the world and she raised a beautiful and strong daughter that she's proud of. If there's a standard for the job of Hokage that's Tsunade. She demonstrated to be the best leader for Konoha in its history, from protecting each and every single one of its villagers when Pain attacked, to joining her fellow Kage to fight none other than Madara Uchiha. And she taught him a lesson! One of my favorite moments is when she's with Sakura and I'm so sad that they act like complete strangers in the sequel. Tsunade is really proud of the woman and kunoichi Sakura has turned out to be and that's the best feeling a master like her can experience.

3. Kurotsuchi: The combination of can fight for real + boss is my favorite but putting Kurotsuchi over Tsunade is biased in my case. There's something enticing about her that I don't understand, she's so attractive to me as a female and I'm sad that she's a background character. She gives me Temari and Karui vibes with Sakura's style and color so that solidifies her best girl status for me. Also, she's the current only female Kage so she's amazing; and she really punched an Ōtsutsuki just like Sakura so she's great.

2. Temari Nara: She's my favorite Naruto girl but this time she gets the second spot because she's not very present in Boruto, although it's not important for me, and because compared to my top 1 she's a little bit behind. Shes's still fierce, powerful and beautiful; and one of my most favorite things is that she's close with Sakura and she makes a cute trio with her and Ino too. One of the best things for me was that she was the Kazekage's main pillar, but for obvious reasons she had to leave Sunagakure. Nonetheless, she's still their Ambassador and a jōnin of Konoha too, which is more powerful than the majority of girls in this list so she's an icon. I'm pretty sad that her involvement in the series is through fillers because she's one of the most useful female characters in my opinion, and with a lot of experience.

1. Sakura Haruno/Uchiha: She's my favorite character ever so of course she's my number one female. From zero to hero, she's the same as Tenten in terms of becoming powerful through hard work and dedication, but this girl only had intelligence and perfect chakra control that couldn't flourish by herself, so Tsunade helped and raised her to become the strongest kunoichi and best medic-ninja in the world. She faced one of the most powerful Akatsuki members and made a fool of him by countering his poison at just 16, demonstrated her full potential and unmatched strength. Her personal moments are so angsty and realistic, a woman in love but also a fierce fghter that cares about everybody around her. She punched the Goddess of chakra!!! I'm sorry but nobody was doing it like manga Sakura. She rose to the top, was promoted to jōnin (the only kunoichi of her class to achieve this) and still completes difficult long-term missions, is a pioneer in mental health and opened new facilities dedicated to medicine like the Children's Therapy Center in her village and the others too, became the Head of Konoha's Medical Department, directs the main hospital, teaches medical ninjutsu and is considered the only female pillar of Konoha too (and is the Hokage's bodyguard too). My girl can multitask! All the while she raised the most brilliant new gen kid practically by herself. That's an accomplished female character. She might not be in Boruto these days, but to me she still remains the most useful and promising kunoichi that is sidelined because the writing is terrible. Being the face of medicine of Konoha and a scientist expert in many fields like poison, she's not written the way she should. She's in charge of the most important sub-division of the village, one that maintains the shinobi of the Konoha and the citizens in top condition to continue their job and takes care of the main cast after every fight. But despite the bad writing, Sakura grew to be an amazing woman.

pre-konohagakure being the warring state period just made this even angstier 😭 dahyun and tzuyu having a similar story to madara and hashirama, having secret meeting in the woods, falling in love secretly knowing both their clans are mortal enemies, them having the same dream of a peaceful future, only to face off against one another and subduing their love for each other because as much as they hate it, clans come first. dahyun and tzuyu fought with equal powers but dahyun realised they wouldn't stop until one of them was defeated, and she chose the option of being the one defeated. tzuyu unaware of this "accidentally" used a jutsu that injured dahyun. tzuyu continuously crying "forgive me" as she held dahyun in her arms, awakening her mangekyou sharingan at that moment whilst dahyun swiped her tears away, muttering the same words she did the first time she saw tzuyu's first sharingan, "i love your eyes, it's beautiful" and then died in tzu's arms I CANNOT 😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭 putting datzu in naruto's lore opened up so many angsty content 😖 and please don't search up the love story between izumi and itachi cause that's also one that i think datzu fits in so well... -datzu

though I don't think either of them are like any of these characters, I do like the idea of maybe tzu being envious of dahyun who hss alrdy awakened her sharingan,, so she intially has ulterior motives for getting close, only wanting to learn how to awaken her own sharingan/keep an enemy close -- but she falls in love in the process (and, much to her (pleasant) surprise, awakens her sharingan that way 🥹)

so basically, tzu's whole world is turned upside down and she stops seeing the senju clan as enemies (dahyun had always been a pacifist), so ig kinda like itachi, she stops supporting the coup? cue: skipping meetings to meet dahyun in the forest and all the cosy stuff :((

and omfg the line abt dahyun loving tzuyu's eyes,, and dying with that same sentiment SPARE ME 😭😭🥹💔 I don't remember if by this point in history they've realised that uchiha's don't need to be responsible for the death of their loved ones to awaken their mangekyou sharingan, but if they haven't, I can see dahyun trying to kill two birds with one stone by sacrificing herself to both awaken tzuyu's mangekyou sharingan and end the fighting 😭😭 so maybe they lose each other but tzuyu will be the great shinobi she always wanted to be, right? 🥹 that's what dahyun thinks 🥹

but ALSO tzuyu succumbing to a fate like itachi's in the end,,... causing the uchiha clan downfall,,,,,, gawd angst has never been so yummy

Custom Toonami Block Week 171 Rundown

Inuyasha The Final Act: Moryomaru’s on his shit again running around absorbing random demons and… he’s after the snake demons from Yashahime? Honestly I completely forgot they were in the original series and apparently for good reason because the FUCKING DIE, like for all its faults usually Yashahime was pretty good about the connective tissue between the original and itself but I guess these guys just aren’t dead anymore by the time of the series. It is kinda dumb that Moryomaru just kinda wants them because ‘they’re snake brothers that hate each other so if I eat them I can fuse stuff to other stuff’ but his arc’s getting ready to end anyway so who cares. Meanwhile Inuyasha’s consulting Totosai about why his new Tessaiga upgrade doesn’t work the diagnosis is basically ‘sword’s fine, you’re just a lil bitch’ basically the same principle that turns Inuyasha into a full demon if the Tessaiga’s not protecting him, he can’t just absorb demonic energy as a half demon or else he’ll go crazy (did anyone ever tell Towa this? Feel like that was literally never a problem for her) but yeah Inuyasha has to run through a demonic obstacle course and learn how to see swirls of demonic energy which… he could already do with the Wind Scar but I guess this is different. Long story short, he gains the power to cut open wells of demonic energy instead of absorbing them, I think this is used like twice before the Meidou Zangetsuha comes by and eats its lunch which is really funny because they already allude to Meidou Zangetsuha being Tessaiga’s Final Form (which you’d think he could just keep absorbing new powers forever idk) so even on release Dragon Scale Tessaiga is already power crept.

Castlevania: We get an extended scene of how Lisa was captured by the church for… having glass and gears I guess, most of it is stuff we already knew though the thing that sticks out to me is she didn’t use a fake last name, like she goes by Lisa Tepes, good for her being proud of her husband and all but don’t people know Dracula’s name is Vlad Tepes? I think I heard someone mention it before so you’re not really helping your case of not being a hellspawn when you literally have Dracula’s last name, it’s a Ben Kenobi situation all over again. Either way, Dracula calls all his boys up to be like ‘yo, we gonna fuck shit up’ and he’s hired two anime misanthropes with suitably tragic backstories for why humans are awful, to do the planning because if you can’t think on a human level you’re gonna fuck shit up. Though even the resident bloodthirsty fight dude Godbrand is like ‘wait we have a plan? I thought we were just sacking villages all over and summoning as much hellspawn as we could’ which is kind of the plan at this point. I do like how Dracula’s rage is personalized by an exhausted finality instead of a howling rage, like everyone seems to be on the same page of ‘look we don’t like genocide, but this humanity thing has had a good run and needs to stop’ which is kind of worse, like there’s only so much talk no jutsu you can do with someone who’s done talking. Meanwhile Trevor, Sypha and Alucard get their initial brooding about their new journey out of the way (Also how old is Alucard? Like he looks in his twenties, but Lisa doesn’t look that much older than when she met Dracula, maybe she just aged like a fine wine or maybe vampire aging is different and you just pop out a twenty year old classy man but it feels like that did not seem to be a twenty year gap). And now Dracula has moved the castle with the big 3D object thing that’s like the only thing I remember from Symphony of the Night.

Jujutsu Kaisen: Megudad is on the rampage and is ready to Rock Lee all over Cthulu and it’s honestly just fantastic to see like after all the complex bullshit with Domains and Animation jargon last episode it’s satisfying to just watch Dadgumi punch the absolute shit out of this guy. They establish he barely has sentience at this point and is basically acting like a heat seeking missile on the largest mass of cursed energy in the area but once he’s done stabbing Cthulu with nunchaku he takes Megumi outside so idk if he does have a shard of sentience in there and just wants to see his son for a sec or if Megumi’s vaguely defined secret superpowers just make him next on Dadgumi’s heat seeking missile radar. Meanwhile Jogo shows up and Cracatoa’s the remaining three guys in like two seconds and I’m not sure if that’s supposed to be an ‘oh shit he’s strong’ moment or an ‘oh shit those guys were really worn out’ moment. Meanwhile meanwhile, the high school girls are sticking fingers down Yuji’s throat because he apparently has no gag reflex and swallows whatever you put in his mouth when he’s unconscious. Only for Jogo to come out and feed him MORE fingers, like half of them right here which they acknowledge they have to do a bunch at once so Sukuna can take over temporarily before Yuji’s body can adapt. I had a feeling JJK wasn’t going to stick to a Shikon Jewel Shard narrative style of collecting the fingers one at a time but this is still a little more than I expected since he’s basically 75% done and got more fingers in him than a Battle Royale Chinese Finger Trap. So yeah Sukuna’s awake but unfortunately for these guys he want to the Muzan Kibutsuchi school of ‘if you’re not immediately subservient and stroking my ego you’re just dead’ and the high school girls get offed for asking him to save Geto even though he asked them what they wanted, like why’s he even asking if he has no intention of doing anything for anybody. I don’t really like this style of villainy like I tend to go more for people that are reasonable to at least not murder their subordinates instantly since it always makes the villains look egotistical and insecure if they can’t handle five seconds of someone not licking their boots but I suppose it is an effective way to show how powerful they are. Meanwhile Jogo goes over the plan to make sure Sukuna stays in control of Yuji’s body and Sukuna’s just like ‘bro I did that a season and a half ago’ but he gives him the same ultimatum he gave Yuji at that point, land one hit and he’ll do them a favor. Idk if Sukuna even intends to make good on any of these I think he just likes flexing on people cause he offers these a lot.

Frieren: Beyond Journey’s End: As a prelude to their journey to go meet with real ghosts, Frieren and Fern have a classic ‘can you shoot a ghost if it looks like someone you love’ mini-adventure, it’s pretty simple but it works for what it has to in order to solidify both of their resolve to go take care of their unfinished business. And then the girls take turns taking pot shots at a dragon and decide they could really use a tank, luckily Eisen was training a tank named Stark in the nearby village so they’re just gonna go pick him up, get the x-ray specs Frieren wants from the dragon and save the village in the meanwhile if they have time. Now Stark is kinda interesting because he’s like a combo of Zenitsu from Demon Slayer and King from One Punch Man in that he’s a weird coward and a fraud but also genuinely ridiculously strong, he just has no real combat experience and thus is terrified of actual monsters. This may also be in part due to him being the only survivor of his home village which he booked it out of when he was a kid, Eisen wanted to train that out of him which I feel like is a little harsh to beat up a kid about running from a horde of monsters, like that’s not cowardice that’s just being fucking nine. But he seems to have internalized some of that and never really gotten over seeing himself as a coward combined with his lack of experience so despite being able to chop a mountain in half like that story of the guy making a path to the hospital, he’s gonna need some help popping his Monster Cherry.

Vinland Saga: So Arnheid’s plan was a little different than I thought, she’s not sneaking in to see Gardar she’s just kinda… asking to come in and because Wolf left and can’t tell her to gfto she gets the one guy that will let her in, I like how she doesn’t even flirt to do it like she’s not a femme fatale she just shows up and looks pretty and the guy is just there for it. So yeah while they’re talking about a metaphorical storm it literally starts raining because Vinland Saga god has a sense of humor and Gardar pulls a Rick Grimes to bite the guard’s neck out and slaughters everyone when Arnheid cuts him free in a split second panic. Like honestly she was kinda against a wall here like ignoring the fact that it was a coin flip split second decision for her husband, even if she didn’t help him the guards are still gonna assume the guy with a chunk out of his neck had more to do with her than the guy that’s all tied up so she didn’t have much choice. Meanwhile back with Thorfinn and Einar, Thorfinn outlines his philosophy of dismantling the toxic masculinity of Norse culture and how defying cultural norms is better than just fucking murdering people that are mildly rude to you. Still he theorizes that if they can stop the root of endless wars they can kill two birds with one pacifist stone and end a large portion of the slave trade. Given slavery and human trafficking are STILL a thing we know this doesn’t quite work out but at least it’s not as normalized and prone to vast swaths of ‘we killed your guys that were good at killing so you belong to us now’ so uhhh… baby steps? Baby, thousand year long steps… Meanwhile the guards are searching their barn for Gardar and Arnheid which tips Thorfinn and Einar off that they’ve escaped and now they’ve got a decision to make about who to help with that.   

Was gonna add the two new shows this week but couldn't find some of them and ran out of time so I'll think more on what I want to watch this coming week and try to get some new additions for next weekend.

I wonder if the reason Zuko didn't try a diplomatic approach when confronting Azula before the Agni Kai is because he was still pitted against her by Iroh and Ozai, considering her "too far gone", or because he knew that years of indoctrination and Azula's lifetime of being loyal to the FN's imperialist regime aren't things you can just talk out over a cup of tea.

I think the narrative was certainly going with the idea that Zuko talking to Azula would have been as pointless and naive as Aang trying to talk down Ozai, though it never explicitly says so.

Azula is never really presented as someone who even can be reasoned with, but no one really tries to either. It's just kinda accepted that she's so dedicated and single-minded that there's no avoiding violence violence with her, that she'd only be capable of being reasoned with after she's been subdued and violence is no longer an option for her.

Again, this is what the narrative seems to be saying and what the audience is just expected to accept. No one opposing Azula makes much of an effort to talk first.

I think part of the issue might also be that no one in the Gaang really comes close to being Azula's intellectual equal. Even if one of the characters tried to debate Azula on the morality or righteousness of what she's doing, I feel like she'd be able to just talk circles around them or realistically just push their buttons until they're too upset to be reasonable themselves.

In that scenario, I think Aang and Iroh would have been the only ones with the emotional control and maturity to try to talk-no-jutsu Azula while also having the skill to deal with her if she is using violence at the same time. Maybe Katara as well.

So the thing i want to talked about is the sharingan..

I bet Rin would talked to Obito about their children sharingan since they have it from their father.

Rin worried about how they would awakened their mengekyo sharingan by losing someone they cared/loved. She know how to awakened the mengekyo, and that with losing someone they loved/cared. She didn't want her children to felt that kinda of pain. And Obito understand about it. But he knew that one day their children would feel that kind of pain, sooner or later.

It's the same way Sakura concern about Sarada's sharingan. She didn't want her to feel that kind of pain, since she already seen it herself by her husband, Sasuke. But after seeing the latest Boruto chapter, Sarada did awakened her mangekyo, but that was because her fear of losing Boruto.

But at least Sarada didn't go like Obito, Madara, Sasuke or Itachi in the canon. And what Rin concern is they would be like their father (in the canon, after seeing Rin died)

Here's the thing;

I don't particularly like making parallels between Rin and Sakura (because I am so sick of the Team 7 bullshit parallel), but I can see why Rin would be concerned about the topic.

However, they would STILL talk about it.

In Sasuke's case, he can't tell Sarada that he had to "kill" his brother (Itachi succumbed to his disease so I can't really say Sasuke killed him directly lmao) and find out the truth about the clan - it's already a very complicated relationship in SasuSaku.

But in ObiRin's case, it's not that complicated. Why?

Because their kids obtained their Sharingan by going through something traumatic already. They are NOT protected from the traumatic life of a shinobi, because they ARE shinobi, and that's what they chose to be.

I mentioned that his son was going through a conflicting phase after unlocking his Sharingan, and let me tell you why:

Because his son unlocked his Sharingan when his little sister was in danger. They have a close bond, and seeing her in danger was enough to trigger his optical chakra and voila; Sharingan unlocked.

After realizing the trauma a ninja had to witness, and the emotional turmoil that an Uchiha needs to go through in order to obtain their dojutsu, his son started questioning if he should quit being a shinobi.

Obito helped him realize what he wanted in the end (as mentioned in the fanart).

Obito's daughter too, unlocked her Sharingan out of deep anger; definitely during a mission where something triggered a certain rage that it made her activate her Sharingan for the first time. Her personality is a fiery type; which ties in to her being a potent Fire jutsu user.

Obito brought up the talk about the Mangekyou Sharingan some time after his kids unlocked it, so that they can have an understanding about how the Sharingan really works. Rin allowed the topic to be discussed, because her children, who have dominant Uchiha blood running in their veins, needed to know so that they can perhaps understand their emotions and maybe learn how to control it so that they don't face any type of darkness that their father Obito faced long, long ago. :)
