When Bellamy meets Clarke, a med-school destined brainiac in Miller’s forensics class, he has no idea what to expect from her friendship... especially since she’s more than a little obsessed with cryptids. 

As they grow closer during their respective sophomore and junior years of college, Clarke eventually confides in Bellamy that her unusual attachment to these stories and mythic creatures comes from her childhood. Her dad died when she was in high school, but her memories of him are cemented in roadside diners, strange tales of obscure creatures, and the importance of always leaving possibilities on the table. So even as she beelines forward in her no-nonsense career path, Clarke just can’t quite let it all go. 

It’s stories that like, told in hushed voices in corners of the campus library, that are a part of the two of them becoming closer and closer. Then Bellamy gets hurt in a group rock climbing activity and it’s Clarke who helps take care of him when he can’t make it to class or the dining halls. And for two people obtaining their college degrees in two rigorous fields, it’s almost absurd how long it takes them to figure out that they like each other more than friends. Especially since it’s so glaringly obvious to all of their friends. But finally they fall into unofficially dating, followed up by officially dating the next school year. There’s absolutely nothing wrong with it. In fact, it’s pretty downright perfect. Except Bellamy is a romantic and not knowing what their actual anniversary is makes his life a whole lot harder.

So once Clarke graduates but before she goes back to school in the fall, he decides that he’s going to blow it all out for his rough estimate of when their one year anniversary is: a trip to Scotland to hunt down Nessie.

Even though Bellamy isn’t particularly keen on flying, Clarke’s excitement to follow through with one of her and her dad’s dreams is enough to get him up in the air (and not feel too terrible as they cross the ocean). And thanks to Clarke’s millions of to-do lists and books, they arrive in Scotland fully equipped for their vacation.

They don’t just make it all about the mysterious lake creature. Between their shared curiosity for adventure and Bellamy’s love of history, there’s no shortage of things for their itinerary. At one point, they stumble upon a bagpipe festival and their hands are sore from all of the clapping after each performance. Bellamy’s mom’s passion for sewing when he grew up led the two of them down a rabbit hole of learning about kilts, even ending up with Bellamy somehow dressed up in classic Highland garb (Clarke seemed to particularly like that afternoon). 

But of course, the later part of the trip is dedicated to the main reason they’re there. To build up to it, they first spend a day touring the Urquhart Castle that overlooks the lake. Bellamy gets into a long-winded conversation with one of the historians there about the artifacts on display, leading to multiple rounds of beer that evening at the pub by their hotel. And that level of focus is only rivaled by Clarke, when on their boat tour of the lake the next morning, is able to go toe to toe with their guide.

She’s also pretty sure she saw something in the water but she couldn’t get her camera out fast enough to capture it.

Their picnic later that day doesn’t quite look like the sunny, picturesque ones that are in movies but for the two of them it’s perfect. Bellamy lets Clarke have a quiet moment; she brought some of her dad’s ashes to scatter in the water. After her small speech to his memory, she adds that she has a feeling that he would have loved Bellamy as much as she does. Bellamy is caught off guard––it’s the first time she's said those three big words. When he’d planned the trip, he’d hoped to say the same to her as well so it’s magical the way it’s all worked out together. He’s more than happy to reciprocate with his own “I love you” to seal the vacation as being one of the best in his life.

Though, as they finish their picnic and keep their eyes peeled for an elusive sighting, he wonders if this is just the beginning of a new tradition between them and their future family.

Ummmmm what can I say... They're all kinda inspied from scenes in the fic... The bathrobe scene made me go Insane Wormy Mode LIKE I KNEW IT WOULD HAHAHA I'M A LITTLE PREDICTABLE. And the scene where's she's being a sad moody baby about the whole debacle and fiddling with her comm badge and staring at her reflection in its surface and feeling angsty and spiteful about it WE STAN. <3

I could say it was an excuse to tackle a very visual,,, and pivotal,,, part of the AU that I'd been super intimidated (and bashful teehee) about drawing,,, but I had so much fun with this and I'd conveniently been working up to it days prior by drawing her "evolving" lol.

BRUH it’s funny to think that like,,, with the implication that Kathryn and Tom both revert if only briefly into their original states after evolving,,,,, that means the babies were likely in this boat as well. :) though my PERSONAL headcanon has been that like,,,,, the EMH suggests in the episode that he needs to try a more intense treatment to fully revert Tom,,,, so very likely he’d have attempted this, if only at a lesser, more suitable degree for three newborn infants. And consequently because their treatment was less intense they’d revert to the middle stage more rapidly and earlier on than both Tom and Kathryn. They’d likely pass it off as the treatment just didn’t work on them because they received a weaker dose of it, or maybe think they reverted cause they weren’t “human” to begin with. either way it’d likely unsettle both of them prior to them reverting themselves teehee :3c

What about au where people have soulmates and Kathryn's one name is Annika but the process of assimilation in the collective erases the name and the memory so the both know it could be Seven but they won't be sure, ever. Seven is just all soft skin and no black mark anywhere. Then they're back on earth and they never see each other anymore and Seven meets Raffi and Raffi has Annika too, as soulmate, and Seven just fells in love with her so fast, because Raffi is something new and she us reckless and the way she looks at her? She feels like she's back in one of the Doctor's program but everything feels natural and right. Someday's she misses Kathryn and the way they loved eachother and she can see how everything could have gone if the mark was still on her skin and her captain name was on her.

When they got back in XXI century, no Borg implant on herself and just all consuming humanity she always aspired to, the name actually get back but nor her nor Raffi gives is real importance. They have just the time to read the first two letters when the Borg Queen saves her and erase it all again. In the ene they're alive and breathing, the letter are faded away but they still together and in love, and the rest doesn't matter.

Unpopular Phase 4 & 5 Opinions

Quantumania is the worst Phase 4/5 movie. And it wasn’t even because “kang got beat by ants.” (I liked kang in this movie). It’s just that the Spy Kids aesthetic & bad acting & overall weird vibes just weren’t for me.

Love and Thunder is no worse than Ragnarok. I would argue that it’s better in a lot of ways, actually. I really liked it.

Taika Waititi ruined thor with bad humour all the way back in Ragnarok tbh, but y’all weren’t complaining about it then 😒.

BuckySarah is better than sambucky every day of the week.

The Marvels was a good ass movie & they’re one of my favorite teams in the mcu. I’ll never forgive cbm sites & online dudebros for killing the hype from the moment the film was announced.

I adore America Chavez & Kamala Kahn and I want to see them in everything. They must be protected at all costs.

Multiverse of Madness had shitty characterisation & basically just copy-pasted the ‘grief made me go off the deep end & hurt people, then I realised and stopped myself’ storyline from Wandavision… but Wanda was extremely selfish & apathetic to other people’s suffering from the time she was introduced in the mcu. MoM didn’t make her like that.

Wanda should’ve been looking for Vision (her actual real life boyfriend whom she spent years with irl) in MoM instead of the kids that weren’t even real that she spent like a week using as characters in her sitcom.

Making everyone forget Peter Parker wasn’t profound or poetic in any way- it was just frustrating and needlessly cruel.

I’m begging marvel to understand that heroes don’t have to be in constant suffering to be heroic & villains don’t have to sacrifice themselves to achieve redemption. Let characters heal and atone, you absolute weirdos.

What If…? is the most boring show ever. I’d rather watch Secret Invasion or She-Hulk.

Season 2 of Loki is, in a cinematic & artistic sense, the best marvel project period.

Loki season 1 was meh- more of a fun au than anything because his characterisation kinda sucked. Season 2 fixed it, though, and made it way easier for me to incorporate this version of Loki back into the larger mcu.

Having Steve stay in the past with Peggy was stupid af.

I don’t hate Peggy (or Captain Carter), though. I actually think she’s pretty cool.

I don’t really love Steve. He’s arrogant & they never really let him have flaws & something about him being a perfect metaphor for the American military industrial complex (and marvel painting that as a good thing) doesn’t sit right with me.

The Illuminati got done dirty and the only reason they went down so fast was because Wanda had all that plot armor.

I thought the retcon of having Wanda be “destined” to become the Scarlet Witch since birth was an annoying cop-out. Her powers originating from being experimented on with an infinity stone was way more interesting.

Loki & Wanda have almost the exact same powers.

Nebula deserved a bigger rule in killing Thanos & everything else moving forward.

I love Kathryn Newton but her acting as Cassie Lang was the worst acting I’ve ever seen in the mcu, like it was outrageously bad.

I’m glad Sam is the new Captain America and not Bucky.

The fact that Bucky probably isn’t gonna be one of Thee lead characters in the upcoming avengers movies feels sick and twisted.

Secret Invasion was actually passable until the G’iah scene at the end. That ruined it. And Nick Fury deserved way better for his solo series.

Kang is so much more interesting than Doctor Doom. I really hope they just recast him.

Carol Danvers does NOT deserve the hate she gets.

I actually disliked Carol until The Marvels. That movie made me a stan.

The way people treat Monica as Wanda’s little inferior pet creation or smth & then brag about it is uhh very sus.

I don’t like sylvie (bc she’s an amalgamation of 3 different comic characters- which killed any hopes of them appearing individually in the mcu, the creators used her existence to butcher Loki’s genderfluid rep, & she was written poorly) & I HATE sylki (bc it’s weird & unnecessary).

Marvel isn’t dead. I actually love where they’re taking things. But that’s just me.

4. What are your top five fics by kudos?

Two really long (100k plus) Once Upon a Time babyfics, one Game of Thrones little what if one shot where Catelyn saves the book, one little femslashy Game of Thrones oneshot with really nice poetic language, and a Once Upon a Time Dragon Queen babyfic that might be one of the best things I've ever written.

(Write a really long fic in the most popular ship of a pretty big femslash fandom and one goes get a LOT of kudos).

5. Do you respond to comments?

I try. I get tired, I mean to respond. I forget, I get overwhelmed. I'm trying. I have... 2507 unread comments on Ao3 going back over 8 years. I'm not doing terribly well, but I try.

6. What is the fic you wrote with the angstiest ending?

When I the starry courses know Star Trek Voyager: Kathryn Janeway/Borg Queen.

Janeway sacrifices herself to the Borg to save her crew. It's pretty dark.

7. What’s the fic you wrote with the happiest ending?

Most of them? Without Knowing How, perhaps, because characters who were dead in canon wake up in an AU where they're married, happy, and have a baby, and they're really sweet in how they just roll with it. (Philippa Georgiou/Katrina Cornwell, Star Trek Discovery).

8. Do you get hate on fics?

not really...once someone wrote a fic about how much they hated a threesome I was writing (a few other people were them too, and it was fun). Once Upon a Time was a wild fandom. I did take it very personally at the time.

9. Do you write smut? If so, what kind?

sometimes, I prefer foreplay and flirting and all the things that come after the smut. Smut does lead to babies sometimes though so...I have to write it. Sometmes I'm in the mood and sometimes I'm not.

10. Do you write crossovers? What’s the craziest one you’ve written?

Stargate Atlantis and Star Trek the Next Generation, which was nice, all the characters are kind and thoughtful and the tech going back and forth was fun.

Hilariously that fic got linked on some forum about starships where they critiqued my starship combat.

11. Have you ever had a fic stolen?

I have not.

12. Have you ever had a fic translated? 

I have! There are a few on ao3.

13. Have you ever co-written a fic before?

A livejournal friend and I cowrote two Janeway/Chakotay fics, back in the day, and they were so fun. They're very soft.

I was Janeway, B'Elanna, Seven and Tuvok. She was Chakotay, Tom Paris, the Doctor and Harry Kim.

14. What’s your all time favorite ship?

Kathryn Janeway/Beverly Crusher probably? All time is hard. I'm much more of a "current time" person.

Currently it's Michael Burnham/Laira Rillak.

15. What’s a WIP you want to finish but doubt you ever will?

I have the following WIPs

Universe Travelling 4 year old causes chaos and romance.

Michael rescues her sick girlfriend.

Quantum - (the baby's here, so...how do they go back to work...I need to reread the whole thing to make sure I have all the threads)

Michael gets pon farr.

The first two are for year of the OTP so I have until December 2024 to finish them. I like they, there's a good bit written of both, so that's likely.

Quantum owns my soul, so I will finish that, but it might be slow. I get distracted.

Pon Farr I am working on today! so I feel good.

16. What are your writing strengths?

long character arcs. Dialogue. Soft things with gentle emotions and slow plot.

Character goes on a long emotional journey while she is pregnant and then gives birth under unpredictable circumstances, while being loved and supported. is my thing. It could be on the tin containing my fic.

17. What are your writing weaknesses?

Description. I don't see things. I don't bother. My fics take place in a void where costumes and setting are barely mentioned.

I don't write intensity, or plot that moves quickly. I get distracted by world building and OCs.

18. Thoughts on writing dialogue in another language in fic?

I don't do it. I usually write something about how "she said in Vulcan" or something. I speak some German, some Mandarin, I might try that if I have a native speaker to help me, but likely not.

19. First fandom you wrote for?

Star Trek the Next Generation!! I handwrote a self insert fic into my journal as a child. I think I was middle school aged.

I wrote a bunch of Sunset Beach on forums, then Star Trek the Next Geration, and one of my oldest internet published fics is on Ao3. That fic turns 23 this year.

20. Favorite fic you’ve written?

Ever ever?

Right this moment it's...migrations and other recurring phenomena because I keep rereading it and I like it.

Michael and Laira are trapped in a turbolift and they look after each other, then they flirt and make out and have sex and the desire to have sex is really well done.

Next time I do this meme it might be different, but right now. I really love that one.

Mary and David broke up due to his torn commitments to Kathryn. Mary Margaret found herself pregnant after the fact and is giving the baby up for adoption. She doesn’t consult David. (Or maybe she does? And that’s why that aren’t on speaking terms?) They reconcile when he shows up the hospital after Emma is born. She’s missed him terribly. He’s been hallow without her. They comfort each other; clearly still very much in love even if it’s messy. ( Very messy and far from an instant happily ever after) Did they give it a go of raising her together or will Mary continue with the adoption? That’s up to the eye of the beholder. Or in some cases; the fanfic writer.

Ooh, does original poetry count? Because if so, Kathryn, a midlength poem I wrote about Kathryn Howard the fifth wife of Henry VIII who was beheaded between the ages of 17 and 22. Or maybe these are times that can’t be weathered (and we have never been back there since then), a story about a Miraculous OC discovering Hawkmoth’s identity.

what's the fic you wrote with the happiest ending?

Personally, I think it’s The Dark Gate, part four of my Les Mis Winx Club AU. The happy ending is really earned and needed.

do you get hate on fics?

Not really since I stopped regularly writing for Miraculous Ladybug. Boy, that was a wild experience. The fandom was really big at the time and it was the post-Season 3 salt era, so Opinions were both abundant and poor in quality.

do you write smut? if so, what kind?

Yes indeed! I was born on the run (but I’ll die holding your hand) and Waitin’ on the Sunrise are both JDonica smut fics that I am very very proud of! They’re… very fluffy. You know that rule about how you see in fandom the stuff that was missing from the source material? Look, I just want my awful blorbos to be happy. And also to bang a lot.

do you write crossovers? what's the craziest one you've written?

Does On Se Sent Comme Par Magie count? It’s really more fusion fic, it’s the characters of Les Mis living out the plot of Winx Club. Look, it just… it made sense in my head, y’know?

According to my beta reader for OSSCPM, readability, characterisation, and cliffhangers.

what are your writing weaknesses?

I’m really bad for run-on sentences - it’s not my fault, okay, I started reading Les Mis when I was sixteen and impressionable, and Victor Hugo did a number on my psyche that I doubt will ever be reversed because unfortunately Vicky Huge-ho lives rent-free in my skull and whispers in my ear to just use more semicolons like the whore he is.

thoughts on writing dialogue in another language in fic?

I’ve written in Scots before, which was fun! I kind of want to do it again, but the Plot Bunnies aren’t cooperating right now.

first fandom you wrote for?

I think. Technically. It was a documentary about Sperm Whales that had a really sad ending that I saw when I was six and I wrote a little book that gave it a happier ending, if that counts? If not, probably Equestria Girls. Although, thank god, my early fic experiments are all stored on a hard drive that will never see the light of day again.

I know @jellybeansarecool in one of her ficcies wrote about a lil pond in the Airponics Bay and I've really wanted to draw something for it since theeeeeen, I love the idea so much. Wanted to doodle Philippa around season 7 of Voyager (So like five years old) pouting by it. :)

And I keep having the half-baked idea that Kathryn's somehow like,,, bad at certain hyperevolved human things comparatively to her children. I'm never super sure WHAT outside of her just being worse at controlling things like her barbels and tail haha. Just things where it's obvious she wasn't born this way but her kiddies were.

Uuuuh lil doodle of Amelia paintiiiiinggggg. Aaaaaand I've always been fond of the idea that Edward has THE BEST hair of the three of them. And Amelia and Philippa both have a little bit of hair envy for him. Like he's probably the only one of the three that can properly pull off the Bun of Steel. And I also think Philippa would HATE people touching her hair it's all snarly and untamable. But yeah like I think Amelia would absolutely wanna do his hair and does his lil braids he ends up becoming so fond of having and stuff like that.

(No, Flutter does not practice magic like this. She never does love spells as they’re a big NO for her, love must be given freely or not at all. If she steals someone’s shoe it’s for petty revenge and she’s probably just going to fill it with jelly and put it back later.)

For the WIP guessing game... "window"

Interesting choice because I tend to avoid using the word window when referring to a starship. I dunno why. Just personal preference. However, it does turn up a few times (mostly on the holodeck). There were two in particular that I really like. Since I can’t decide which is better, you get both!

The first is from my Workforce AU:

That night, Kathryn found herself standing by the window, overlooking the city. Only the day before, that sight had filled her with comfort. It had been home. Now, it looked alien and strange. She wondered if she'd ever feel comfortable here again.

The second is for another AU that I won’t be posting until it’s complete, so it’ll be a while before it sees the light of day because it’s long:

Chakotay paused to take in the sight before him. The holographic sunlight poured through the window, bathing the couch and the figure on it in warm light. Kathryn was sound asleep, snoring softly, with one leg hanging off the couch and an open book on her chest. The golden light made her pale skin glow.
