Day 5
Republic
Tumblr media
@tuberculosis-bot-9000
Just good old days~
Grievous grandmother with young Dooku on Kaleesh–Bitthævrian War. I wanted to draw something calm so in this time without many headcanons*
I think the granny told a really funny joke and continues to have fun with the moral speech of the jedi friend
*Except that the long quills on her cloak belong to the most powerful Bitthævrians she killed
And her black uncovered arm with tattoos of Mumuu marks is sign that she's leader (blackarm lol)

Last year, our small fandom celebrated our favorite tiny corner of the Star Wars universe.
Now, we do it all again!
I AM HAPPY TO ANNOUNCE:
KALEESH WEEK 2023!
LET'S GET READY TO RRRRUMBLE!
Tumblr media
Details and rules under the cut!
Welcome back to Kaleesh Week! I am so excited to have another one of these! Without further ado:
What is Kaleesh Week?
Kaleesh Week is a week dedicated to the small but thriving subset of the Star Wars fandom that loves General Grievous and his people, the Kaleesh. Similar to much more well-known fandom celebrations such as Smaugust, Mermay, or Whumptober, Kaleesh Week can pertain to any medium of choice.
What are the rules?
The rules are simple, but should be followed to ensure the happiness of all participants and make my job as archivist easier!
Any type of creation is allowed, whether art, fanfiction, gifs, videos, or anything else. As long as it's Kaleesh-related, there's no problem
Remember to properly tag all triggers
Remember to tag your entries with #kaleesh week, #kaleeshweek, #kaleesh week 2023, or #kaleeshweek2023, it will help me keep track of them all so I can reblog them
Also, please tag me in your posts so that I can be sure to see and reblog them! If I missed one, don't hesitate to tell me
It isn't strictly necessary to follow along every day, this is meant to be fun! Post whenever you like, whether that's all seven days or just one. You can also post anytime after the week if you'd like
Alternate prompts can be used to mix and match in any way you'd like with the standard prompts, so go crazy
And last but not least, have fun!
What are the prompts, and what's the deal with alternate prompts?
The two lists of prompts are there to give any participants more freedom with whatever they'd like to create. Alternate prompts are a set of prompts that anybody can use in place of the current prompt. You don't need to choose either the regular prompts OR the alternate prompts, instead, you can decide each day if you'd like to use one of the prompts or one of the alternate prompts. If you aren't feeling one prompt, you can swap it out with any of the alternate prompts, as out of order as you'd like.
Prompts:
Khan
Empire
Demigod
Pups
Wives
Injury
Ascension
Alternate Prompts:
Izvoshra
Droids
Oben
The Force
Republic
Jedi
Sith
I'd like to join the General Grievous Discord server! Where do I sign up?
If you'd like to come hang out with us at the Kaleeaboos server, simply PM me! We have all sorts of fun stuff going on, and a pretty chill vibe. I'm one of the mods there along with some other big names in the Grievous fandom. Come hang with us!
And finally, good luck, and have fun!

Kaleesh Week - Jedi
Though Karri is no Jedi, her grandmother Velec’s legacy lives on through her. And even if she isn’t the most orthodox (or for that matter honorable, faithful, or particularly capable) with Double-O’s training and the little insight given my scavenged Jedi relics, she strives to live up to expectations. In her own way, of course.

Kaleesh Week - Day 3: Oben
I'm just jumping around with these whoops.. also this is just a thumbnail, who knows if I will do a proper version of this. Also, the designs are not final by any means - the front kaleesh is one of the mothers of my storys main characters (Quireel). She still needs a name... her mask is kinda supposed to be some sort of sabertooth cat with horns and the fur thing is supposed to resemble a lions mane. But as said, I'll work on these designs still. The other kaleesh is her brother and Quireels uncle.
And the background spooky fellow... that's Skarakkis The Red, a yam'rii general who was in charge a lot in that side of the war. He also is quite major character in the main story and whoo boy, there's a lot about that bug too.
Anyway, more Star Wars stuff!

Day 2 - Droids
Tumblr media
@tuberculosis-bot-9000
Pango and the droid family. She's an OC from our AU with a seriously altered plot, so keep that in mind.
Pango grew up in a droid family on the planet Abbaji in the Kalee system. She is disconnected from the culture of her race and considers the droid colony her real family and home. Punk with a passion for mechanisms and metal. It was expected though.
She was abducted by Yam'rii at a very young age. It is unusual that she survived, usually Yam'rii do not bother to raise Kaleesh children to turn them into slaves, there are plenty of adults who can be broken and thrown away for sale, so children are usually just eaten. But things were different for Pango because of her unusually dark, almost black skin. She is a melanist and stands out among most brown and reddish Kaleesh. And this difference makes it an exclusive product. So Yam'rii decided to keep her until marketable age. Her tusks were torn out, as were the tusks of all Kaleesh captured by Yam'rii at that time. Symbol of dehumanization.
She was rescued pretty soon, but it turned out that the psychological trauma of what she saw was severe. She was afraid and disgusted with all Kaleesh or other creatures, everything organic, everything that bleeds. The only ones she wasn't afraid of were droids. With age, she was able to outgrow the trauma mostly. But the circumstances of her life were set, the gap between her and the other Kaleesh began to grow. And it's not something bad, she just grew up in a different culture, and even chose it herself and is happy about it. Simply due to other circumstances, the distance has turned into a conflict that is difficult to ignore. However, being one of the first misfits she paved the way for others. She will be an example and an idol for many young creatures looking for their place in life.

Kaleesh Week Day 1- Khan
All of the khans that exist in my weird little Kaleesh AU + one more who's actually khagan in canon. Emotionally, they are all theater kids, forced into geopolitics so you can guess how that turned out
- Ronderu lij Kummar: Technically a khan because almost everyone else who could claim the title is dead and her older brother (Ankar, I'm sure he'll show up at some point) doesn't want it. Understandably, not happy to be here. - Older Brother: I don't...exactly...have a name for him yet, but he's Qy's adopted older brother and the khagan in this weird little universe (until... he dies... RIP to you sir). Probably the only one of these characters who's unironically a decent person, no pesky murders hiding in his backstory. - Bentailis san Sk'ar: Token goth. He looks like this because he originally started as another character ('Mad Scientist', also unnamed-- are you sensing a trend?), and then slowly became Sk'ar. Don't worry though, he still turns into a nine-foot tall vampire-looking guy, through the power of self-experimentation and flexible scientific ethics. - Punk Rock: Khan of one of the clans in the Rim cities (yes, we're going for a cyberpunk-y kind of vibe here; yes, the history there is complicated because of the Yam'rii colonization; and yes, I did make his design after watching ATSV). Most important things to know about him is that he's a rad, sort of wry dude and him and Ronderu's brother have history. - Qymaen jai Sheelal: Yeah! He's not a khan in this world, I'm surprised too! But he's his adopted brother's most trusted commander (no way that could go wrong, right...haha), and had been nicknamed khann-ul when he was younger because he led an uprising to take vengeance on the forces that killed his parents when he was all of 14...so yeah, he's still more or less the same Qymaen.

Day 1: Khan. My kaleesh OC Rokia Rossh is a khan and the princess of her tribe from my Grievous backstory. She's the sister of PePe and Moorii Rossh. She's also the princess of the kaleeshi water tribe of the southwest. She and the rest of her tribe live on an archipelago with houses on stilts and a Hotspot for shoni swordfish. She also has a crush on Anzu.

I tried to touch this up but I concede it a casualty of switching art programs.
Grievous & co drag a queen from her castle on one of the Yam’rii’s colonized planets to make her watch as the Kaleesh raze it to the ground.

Kaleesh Week Day 1: Hunt
I think this is my first official time drawing a Kaleesh that isn't a Cyborg so uh, this week better not awaken anything in me...

Before long, the pair of them stood facing one another at the edge of the village, adjusting their masks, tying back their hair and stretching out their muscles. Wisely, Qymaen had tossed aside his heavy armorweave cape and kicked off his boots for improved movement. Without wrappings, however, his feet—accustomed as they were now to protective soles stronger than thick linen—twinged as he trod on small rocks and pebbles.
“Anything you want to work on in particular?” queried Zaebar.
Qymaen twirled his blades, reacquainting himself with their weight and balance, and crouched into the appropriate stance. “I just want to fight.”
“All right, Qy. After you.”
Only a few seconds into their spar, it was apparent to both of them that Qymaen was woefully out of practice. Zaebar moved with clever swiftness, handily outmaneuvering Qymaen, dancing out of the way of his strikes. After a couple of exchanges and parries, Zaebar stood aside with one blade poised at Qymaen’s throat. Qymaen signaled surrender and backed away, pushing his kakmusme off his face to catch his breath and clear his lungs.
Zaebar grinned. After years of being outclassed by his younger cousin, it would be a lie to say he wasn’t enjoying this. —
Chapter 3 of Part Five - Martyr of the Sahuldeem series is up! (chapter art will be posted in the next week)

Day 1
Izvoshra
Tumblr media
THANKS @tuberculosis-bot-9000 FOR THIS CHALLENGE AGAIN, I'VE BEEN WAITING ALL YEAR~
Well this is (our with @komorebi-art-blog for Au) fun OC, based on old Abel words that he wold make one of the Izvoshra Grievous child. So this is Senya jai Leherki, war man of the waves... with his little friend Badaal, Kaleesh seagul like chaotic creature. Their backstory and personalities are irrelevant, now he says goodbye to his father and take off his cloak to gift him. This way his Khagan and Dad can save memories and even last words on smells language...
And a little Headcanon that while saying goodbye, the remaining side is allowed to lift the mask to express everything to the departing (we seen this in the Eyes of Revolution with priest)

Kaleesh Week day one: Izvoshra!
I’m a day behind BUT the ideas are flowing
obsessed with the parallels and “built in the image but also a shadow of the original” relationship between the Izvoshra and the IG units so lil Kaleesh!Double-O for day one
Making alt/au versions of this silly little (very large) droid is my past time apparently

Hey look sometimes i post art here too
Something for the kaleesh week, some days late bc of course. Day 1 being the Izvoshra, here's one of my characters from my own little Star Wars story. His name is Khesaar and here he is younger and you know, being an Izvoshra. During the main storys events, he's still alive and well, there's a lot of silent speculation how he's the only one who survived the shuttle crash we all know about (there's some changes in this story of mine from Legends, so after becoming a cyborg Grievous never returned to Kalee and was tough dead bc of reasons). Nowadays Khesaar is a roaming warlord within Kalee and has some deals with the Empire and a rather... peculiar inquisitor, the Fourth Sibling. But well this is just me blathering about stuff, maybe I will eventually work on this story to make this all make more sense.
Anyway. Kaleesh are really neat, let's see if I will manage to draw more for the week!

Day 4 - Force
Tumblr media
@tuberculosis-bot-9000
But technically pups can do too. I was very happy to draw this piece because it contains two of my three favorite parts of this fandom. This is our OC Pulpar jai Soraha from an AU. One of Grievous' youngest children, wounded by the war before he was even born. @koyato has already mentioned our headcanon on what caused the Great Hunger. Chemical weapon used by Huks in a desperate attempt to stifle a counterattack. Children of survivors of the influence of chemical weapons suffer from many chronic diseases, deformities of the body, delays in physical and mental development... Soraha was lucky enough not to have conditions incompatible with life and to become capable enough to fit into society. But of course he wasn't untouched.
His head is deformed, although this is almost invisible behind traditional clothes. The most noticeable are large bulging eyes. But its features are most clearly manifested in behavior. He is infantile and naive even for his age, he learns slower than his peers, it is more difficult for him to adapt to society and stressful situations. He is kinda in his own world. But this does not deprive him of a normal life, Kaleesh looks surprisingly tolerant and loving to those who have fewer opportunities or more difficulties than most. His family also cares about those who are much less fortunate than Soraha. But Soraha has another characteristic. He is force-sensitive. The force didn't have much impact on his life until a certain age, except that sometimes he had strange dreams about things that hadn't happened yet. Until the moment he met Jack.
Jack 14 is not canonical character from the lego cartoon "The Yoda Chronicles" and I LOVE him. You should check it out if you haven't watched it yet, it's a great show (and not thanks to the name in the title, Yoda literally feels like a minor character for some reason). But you can understand why I can't accept that Jack is not in the canon, a force-sensitive clone with a glowing cybernetic prosthesis and a power equal to the ancient Sith, and at the same time his only desire is to be left alone and not be part of all the bs that's going on in the galaxy. He is beautiful and I love him and I will show him to everyone.
But going back to Soraha. It is dangerous for a young force-sensitive being to remain without training. The force can be confusing, especially for a child who doesn't understand what's going on and can barely control it. But most of the teachers are Jedi... And Kaleesh won't let the Jedi get within rifle range of their children. But Jack is not a Jedi. Never was, for that matter, he was closer to the Sith. But he has been free for a long time and is ready to help the young Kaleesh master the basics of the force.A living force uniting all beings in the universe.
In this art, he probably explains to Soraha how cloning works, and there is no better way to explain something to a child with learning problems and lack of attention than through beautiful magical pictures.
