Why do people hate Julian Blackthorn from The Dark Artifices by Cassandra Clare? Can you tell me the reasons he is a bad character and reasons that he is good?

I think one of the reasons Julian Blackthorn is so hated is because he is not an angsty bad boy like Jace or Will Herondale. He doesn’t have the appeal that these types of characters have to the target demographic. It’s unfortunate, because I actually think Julian is one of the few Cassandra Clare characters that has depth. He’s got flaws that don’t include being brooding and moody. His backstory actually makes you feel sympathy for the character rather than roll your eyes. He can be ruthless and will go to any lengths to protect his family. And that flaw actually makes him pretty great too. He’s a character that seems to care about something other than romance, which is very refreshing. He’s probably the most unique character in the Shadowhunter series.

Unless there is some far-off corner of the fandom, Julian Blackthorn is FaR from being hated. We hate Charles Fairchild, Axel Mortmain, Valentine Morgenstern, and Zara Dearborn.

He’s a HERO

At The age of 12, he taught himself how to care for his four younger siblings, the youngest being two because he was to young to properly have a voice in the government

When he was 14, he became parabatai with the girl he was in love with so she would have familiarity and not be shipped off to Alicante when her parents died

He learned how to run the institute so that his family would stay toget her.

He’s AWESOME, and I can think of something that happens, when we have cast or ensemble series. Julian is overshadowed by his siblings. Ty, Livvy and Dru are far more popular than he is. Mark follows after him. It’s not that he is disliked, it’s just that the fandom does not find him as asppealing as say, two 15-year-old twins who love science and are basically in love with the same guy…..

Trust me, When someone in The Shadwohunter Chronicles is Hated. They are Hated. I tis clear exactly WHY and Their perferable method of death..Personally, Zara can be killed by Demons or Downworlders.

My 2017

First off I don't know who exactly will read this, but if you do could you please leave a reply or reblog with a comment because that would mean the world to me.

Here are the things that occured for me month by month in 2017.

JANUARY: Languished trumps election and subsequent inauguration. Started an antifa Facebook group. Met ky @bxttlecxps and became good friends with them.

FEBRUARY: Sat in my room in a fog. Had a meltdown on my mom's birthday. Ky expressed platonic feels and I expressed them back and we became QPPs.

MARCH: My mom got evicted. I think a job interview. Ellies birthday, which was really fun. We went to scandia and got boba and did so much fun stuff. Had a job interview that I didn't get.

APRIL: Jaimes birthday. Beckys bbirthday. Juless birthday. I'm not putting apostrophes, sue me.

MAY: Moved to Santa Rosa and pretty much became homeless. Stayed with Jaimes grandma for two months. Filled out hundreds of job applications. At the time, the grouphome we were going to go to was closing. I got no jobs. I started to have really bad anger issues.

JUNE: More stuff. Was gifted a motorscooter I still can't drive and know one hundred percent I don't deserve. Anger issues got worse. I pushed all my issues down and acted like I Was fine. Had a minor meltdown.

JULY: We reached the end of the two months we were legally allowed to stay where we were, so we moved into the SAY Dream Center emergency shelter. A week there was spent feeling okay, but soon we were pulled in and told we weren't doing enough. We thought we had another place lined up but that fell through. We became pretty demoralized and my anger turned into feelings of abandonment and I was in a horrible mental state.

AUGUST: Had a falling out with Jaime and that led to me lashing out at my friends and basically severing myself from that group for too long. Jaime and I worked it out. I don't talk to the others anymore. I wish none of that had happened. I'm truly and deeply sorry that I did some of the things I did. Started therapy and was diagnosed with DID and PTSD.

SEPTEMBER: I had spent the last half of August at the Dream center by myself, and that's the first time I had ever been truly alone in my life. It was very scary at first. Even scarier when I had to go to the hospital for heat stroke and pharyngitis. (pro tip: don't tell hospitals that you're homeless) I had a serious cardiac issue but they let me go anyway. I got kicked out of the dream center on the 13th of September. Moved in with my friend ed. He made advances towards me and we started dating a week later.

OCTOBER: The tubbs fire ripped through coffee park and destroyed eds house. We all escaped to his grandma's house. He raped me in a closet there later that month. Was diagnosed with chrohns

NOVEMBER: ed raped me again and I got a job at whole foods. Quit the job after two weeks and left ed. Moved in with Emily. Got glasses

DECEMBER: Got a job at community market in Sebastopol. Ems family is amazing and loves me. I was offered to rent their spare room. I moved to the spare room two days ago and start paying rent as soon as I get paid from community market. Starting the new year off right.
