VoicePlay's Patreon pizza party launch promos

The creative gentlemen of VoicePlay rarely do anything by half measures. So when they decided to join crowdfunding platform Patreon, they didn't just write a blog post or make a simple video talking to a camera. No, they decided it was time for a whole scripted skit, complete with multiple song excerpts and a location shoot.

The original YouTube video has since been made private, but they reposted it to their Facebook page the following summer.

Beleaguered business boy Geoff tries to browbeat his hungry buddies into listening to his pitch, despite the many interruptions and digressions. (Yeah, I don't feel like doing any more alliteration.)

The alliterative waitress is played by VP's production manager extraordinaire, Kathy Castellucci, a talented performer in her own right.

The affronted mom is played by Jaimz Dillman, who has also appeared in several PattyCake productions, mostly as Mary Sanderson from Hocus Pocus.

The diners at the surrounding tables include Layne's parents and his step-daughter Lilly, audio engineer Paul Kaleka, theme park pal Jonathon Timpanelli, and Eli's then-girlfriend Ashley.

These videos were filmed overnight at a Winter Park pizza place called Carlucci's, which has since closed.

VoicePlay had previously included "Bad Blood" and "Shut Up and Dance" in their "Aca Top 10 — Summer Hits 2015" countdown.

One of the sillier Patreon perks for early supporters was that Layne would "snore your name" as he napped, a reference to an incident during the 2014 Sing-Off tour when he started beatboxing in his sleep on the tour bus.

The fans met the first milestone of $500 per video in the first day, and hit the second just three days later.

Biography of CHRIS KUZNESKI

Chris Kuzneski is an American novelist & a bestselling author.

His thrillers have been translated into more than twenty languages, have been published in more than 40 countries & have sold millions of copies worldwide. He was born on September 2, 1969 in Indiana, Pennsylvania, United States.

Chris grew up in Indiana, PA, with his parents and three siblings. As a fourth-grader, he wrote his first book, The Monster Cookbook, a work of fiction that detailed the culinary and nutritional needs of a dozen creatures that he'd created. The school's librarian was so impressed that she had it hardbound and placed in the school's library with all the books that his classmates enjoyed. Unbeknownst to her, a career in writing was born. Chris attended Indiana High School where he was voted Class Clown of his senior class and anchored the offensive line on a team that won back-to-back CENPAC championships. He continued his football career at the University of Pittsburgh, playing with future NFL stars Tony Siragusa, Jeff Christy, Mark Stepnoski, Craig "Ironhead" Heyward, and many others. Unfortunately, a freak foot injury ended his athletic career.

While studying at Pitt, he wrote for The Pitt News, the Indiana Gazette, and the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette, eventually earning his B.A. in writing and his M.A. in teaching. From 1992 until 1998, he taught English and coached football in two western Pennsylvania school districts and was selected to Who's Who Among America's Teachers. But in his mind, he still wasn't doing what he wanted to do. He wanted to be a writer, so he quit his job and started working on his first novel, The Plantation & took a great leap of faith . . .

After being rejected by every agent & publisher, he self-published his first novel “THE PLANTATION”. Most experts thought it was a horrible decision that would ruin his writing career before it even started but the “experts” were wrong. His novel, THE PLANTATION, was praised by James Patterson, Nelson DeMille, Lee Child, James Rollins, and several of the top writers in the genre.

Their indorsements gave Kuzneski confidence to continue writing. The praise also caught the attention of a young literary agent named Scott Miller, who was just starting at Trident Media. He asked to represent kuzneski & the two of them started kicking butt together. His next thriller, SIGN OF THE CROSS, was released in 2006 and became an international bestseller. So far, it has been translated into more than fifteen languages. SWORD OF GOD climbed even higher on the charts, hitting the New York Times and London Times bestseller lists. His fourth book, THE LOST THRONE, debuted in the UK Top-5 and stayed on the charts for several weeks.. His latest book, THE PROPHECY, reached #4 on the UK charts .His fourth thriller, The Lost Throne, was released in the UK in 2008 and peaked at #5 on the British fiction chart. Putnam released the American hardcover in July 2009. It was also his first American hardcover. It won the Bronze Medal for Popular Fiction at the Florida Book Awards, America’s most comprehensive state book awards program. The American paperback reached the New York Times mass-market bestseller list in July 2010. His fifth thriller, The Prophecy, was published in the UK in October 2009 and climbed to #4 on the British fiction chart. Putnam released the American hardcover in July 2010. His sixth novel, The Secret Crown, was released by Penguin UK on September 30, 2010 and within two weeks rose to #10 on The Times bestsellers list. The American hardcover was released on January 12, 2012. Kuzneski's seventh novel in the series, The Death Relic, was released by Penguin UK on September 29, 2011 in paperback and Kindle formats, debuting at #9 on the London Times bestseller list. The American version was published in hardcover on January 10, 2013. The eighth novel in the series, The Einstein Pursuit, was released in the UK on August 29, 2013 by Penguin UK. The American version was released on September 16, 2014. Kuzneski’s first seven novels (and also his ninth) follow the adventures of Jonathon Payne and David "D.J." Jones, former members of the MANIACs—an elite Special Forces unit in the U.S. military. Although the main characters are ex-soldiers, the novels are not “military” thrillers. Sanctuary is a Canadian science fiction-fantasy television series, created by Damian Kindler and funded largely by the Beedie Development Group. The show ran for four seasons, from 2008 to 2011.

The show centers on Dr. Helen Magnus (Amanda Tapping), a 157-year-old teratologist, and her team of experts who run the Sanctuary, an organization that seeks out extraordinarily powerful creatures and people, known as Abnormals, and tries to help and to learn from them while also having to contain the more dangerous ones.

Season One

In her youth, Dr. Helen Magnus was trained by her father, a gifted Victorian-era scientist, to study the world and protect the unusual. Helen was a member of a group of experimental scientists known as "The Five", which also included Nikola Tesla (Jonathon Young), Nigel Griffin, Dr. James Watson (Peter Wingfield), and Magnus's lover John Druitt (Christopher Heyerdahl), who wanted to push the boundaries of their understanding of the physical world through unconventional means. At some point during their partnership, Magnus acquired a vial of untainted vampire blood and used it in a serum that "The Five" injected into themselves. After the injection, they each developed Abnormal traits: Magnus experienced drastically slowed aging, and longevity with no clear limit; Nigel Griffin acquired the power to become invisible at will; Dr. James Watson's intellect was tremendously heightened; Nikola Tesla underwent transformation into a vampire, with the additional power of electrical manipulation; John Druitt developed longevity and the ability to teleport through time and space, but, already unstable and soon possessed by a malevolent energy creature, he was driven to give in to his dark impulses, and becomes Jack the Ripper.

Favourite Books 2019

I initially typed this as Favourite books 2020, clearly I’m enjoying time travel. Every year I do this, I post my favourite movies, albums and books of the year, for no real reason other than it feels weird if I don’t.

The illustrations were enchanting and it was just the book I needed for the end of the year and when I’m feeling rather low.)

There’s also a few books that i’ve re-read this year and it’s been lovely. I’m terrible at going back and reading books again, even those I love! This year I re-read ‘Jonathon Livingston Seagull’ by Richard Bach, ‘The Christmas Mystery’ by Jostein Gaarder, ‘Alex’ by Tessa Dudder and ‘Darkness be my friend’ by John Marsden. Next year I plan to re-read ‘Watership Down’ by Richard Adams and ‘The Magic Pudding’ by Norman Lindsay.

I also finally finished reading War & Peace! Huzzah!

I’ve read 45 books this year (not quite sure how, I mean A few were very short and more to do with the illustrations, but others were very long) My plan is to aim for 52 next year, I already have 23 on my ‘to read’ list that I own.

DNMADE Innovation Sociale à Toulouse

J'ai découvert la communication visuelle Sexual Abuse de l'agence de publicité canadienne Directions youth services centre composée des deux graphistes qui se sont occupés de la retouche photo pour l'arrière plan, Jack Griffin Inc, Jonathon Cesar. Cette communication m'a plu de par sa nature caritative qui participe au design social, de médiation, et plus particulièrement de sensibilisation. Elle met en scène de manière organisée, théâtralisée, une jeune femme dans la rue ayant subi des violences physiques sexuelles et mentales, contrainte à ne pas retourner dans son foyer.

Elle est comparable à une Vénus déchue, de par sa couleur de peau blanchâtre, ses cheveux blonds clairs lui transmettant un air morose et affaibli. De même, cette dimension de déchue amène au mortifère, à l'angoissant, entre autre par son regard noir profond dévoilant nombreuses souffrances, au travers d'une rue très assombrie, voir nocturne. Elle porte des vêtements troués, comme s'ils avaient été récupérés quelque part, en friperie par exemple, lui donnant cette impression de vécu difficile. De même, ceux-ci étant trop grands, ils lui donne un air masculin par leurs couleurs kaki et marron, de style « battle-dress ». Ainsi, elle se cache à travers l'épaisseur de ceux-ci. A l'arrière plan : images, textes et tags vont ensemble, s'illustrent et composent une sorte de brainstorming. Ils font contrastes par leur couleur noire et blanche.

Il y a une hiérarchie visible entre les éléments avec une composition tabulaire, notamment à la verticale avec le terme VIOLATION à empattement, composant avec la jeune femme un double point de focalisation. Il est également associé à la même jeune femme qui se trouve allongée et à son agresseur au dessus. Les lettres sont en capitale, mais également répétées tout comme les images. C'est le cas de « I FEEL DIRTY », ou de l'iconographie de la main qui vient sur l'entre-jambe de la fille pour faire rappels au viol. De même, le point de fuite se trouvant au niveau du pantalon, notamment des parties intimes de la jeune femme, la phrase dite par la victime « TOLD HIM STOP » et son poing levé, symbole de combat, sont aussi associés aux abus sexuels. La lecture se fait en Z et l’harmonie des couleurs se fait remarquer avec un camailleu de marrons, bruns.

Concernant l'aspect analytique de la communication, celle-ci représente un storytelling tout d'abord avec la phrase « Every kid on the street has a story ». De même, le passé de la jeune femme est sur le côté gauche de l'image, tandis que le présent est au centre et l'avenir à droite, ce pourquoi l'affichage tabulaire en photomontage en arrière plan a été disposé de manière à ce que l'on pense qu'elle est rentré par la droite dans la rue. Aussi, son passé se trouve en haut, au dessus d'elle, avec l'agresseur l'ayant affaibli lorsqu'elle est couchée, le présent dans la rue, et le futur vers « nous », ses potentiels donateurs. le fait qu’elle soit couchée en haut puis assise dans la rue montre sa « chute sociale ». Elle transmet une émotion forte par son regard timide, caché derrière sa mèche de cheveux, ayant du mal à se confier. Son agresseur représenté reste masqué et inconnu face au public, est-ce une personne de la famille, un ami ?

Ainsi, le public est concerné avec la transmission d'empathie et de compassion via la jeune femme. Le logo de l'agence avec un toit, engendre une notion de protection, comme une nouvelle maison pour les victimes de viols. Alors, à travers la jeune femme, l’agence donne de l'aide à toutes les autres victimes qui n'osent sortir du silence et leur redonne la parole. Elle permet de faire comprendre la réalité des choses, parfois difficile à admettre, et agit comme une sorte de communication didactique voir épistémique face au public. De même, celui-ci est immergé à l'image, puisque le sol à l'air de s'étendre jusqu'à “nous”, et que le mot VIOLATION lui fait comprendre directement de quoi il s'agit.

Ainsi, la communication vise des donateurs de la classe moyenne, qui pourraient se trouver à droite de l'image, ou à notre place de spectateur.
