More than half of Americans admit to lying on a resume at least once. It's such a common practice that no wonder services are popping up to help employers find out about workers' previous job history.
A viral video from TikToker Morgan (@wfhmuva), who comments on work-from-home topics, informs viewers about one such service.
One viewer shared, "I used to work for Equifax and got hired somewhere else they found out so fast."
"Yes girl, they can see down to your gross and net income from each job from equifax," a second wrote.
Another expressed concern they may be in trouble. "wait so they'll know if im a job hopper?" the viewer asked. Morgan responded, "It's possible."
"Every company does not report to the work number!!!" one viewer noted. "Walmart does though. Also it costs to use this service. Most companies not paying for it."
Late last year, a Human Resources worker referenced the service as a reason employers are sometimes aware that a worker is about to leave. She noted that job seekers can check a box asking interviewers not to contact their current place of employment.

How long would you say someone would need to stay at a job before they would harm their chances of being hired at a new job because employers are scared they’re gonna leave right away? Or would it be better to just take dates of employment off of my resume and avoid the problem all together?
I wish I knew who convinced all our beloved bitchlings that quickly job-hopping was bad for your career. Because I'd curse them with a thousand nights of needing to get up to pee in the middle of a REM cycle.
The minute you realize a job is not right for you, start making moves to get the hell out of there.
There's no guarantee you'll get another job right away, so there's no use procrastinating! It could take months! And during that time you'll be relieved that you're working on an escape plan for your shitty job. So worry more about your job search than about how prospective employers will feel about your limited tenure at a shitty job.
Job-hopping is healthy for your career and your wallet. We go in-depth on why here:

14.11.2023 my contribution to @yughostlavia gloomy autumn challenge!
I thought - "how perfect" - to start a new job on a new moon: new venture, new opportunity, a new change, new people, new situations. But yesterday, I thought - "how boring" - because instead of shoving me in a room full of children I didn't know and whose parents didn't even glance my way; I actually just observed, watched, smiled at the room. I was told I am too used to chaos. From the day I was born, this has been the case: thrown out on the streets, discovered by a police officer, at age 3 in Russia. They couldn't find my people then - what can you say at the age 3, except "eye" and maybe an incomprehensible version of your name? - and I can't seem to find them now either. Just picking up the pieces from my past and putting it together: the puzzle masterpiece, my life.

I'm sorry, but what's with all these stressful, "must be available at all times" gov't jobs that only offer $34-$36K salaries? if they want people to work those jobs, they should pay better than that.

(This is a mere generalization, dont take offense)
The people I've met with sagittarius moons and high fire energy but also really high air energy in their charts are wild to me.
Because you talk to them about life and capitalism and struggling and financial problems and they'll either give advice on how to fix it or will criticize you and your choices, whatever the rest of their chart points to. Sometimes both. You could do everything right and they'd somehow find a way to tell you that you haven't done enough.
But their sag moon requires so much freedom to be themselves/be free to be their own person for positive emotions that these same people are always job hopping because the jobs are so limiting or become mundane, always asking for financial assistance because they thought they would be fine after blowing all their money on stuff that give serotonin, always push off responsibilities until things turn sour, etc etc. They come up with creative ways to get more money but drop it once it actually becomes a requirement to do, and always complain of burnout or warn others of burnout because they don't realize not everyone gets burnout within a week of doing something.
They warn you that you have a responsibility to do things even if you don't want to (air vibes) but then try to find easy ways out of anything they don't feel committed to do, even if theyre bound to it.
Also oddly enough they're overly positive to other people as encouragement to do even the scariest sounding of things because they want to give off a responsible persona, and overly negative about themselves and their predicaments or solutions to try and get people to discourage them from committing to something they actively don't want to turn into a regular thing

Confession of a serial job-hopper:
1. Boredom is the root of all evil (or you may argue it’s the root of all creativity). I can’t tolerate boredom. Truth is, every job becomes monotonous after a while. ‘Tis the nature of things.
2. It’s not difficult to find a job, as long as you’re good at personal branding. No experience? No problem! Watch a 15-minute video on YouTube and you’re instantly an expert. ‘Tis the power of bullsh**ing (or spontaneous speaking, whichever term you prefer).
3. I hate working for capitalists, but alas, you gotta start from somewhere to fill that rebellious belly of yours. I hate when ppl pocketing all the profit I generated. Never forget this hatred. ‘Tis the source of motivation.
4. Learn, learn, observe and learn. Know thy enemy. Keep you friends close, but keep your enemies closer.
I am proud of being a serial job-hopper.

The longest job I'd ever held before was less than 2 years. I quit whenever I got fed up or bored. But I've been at my current job for twice that time, and... I hate it.
How do y'all spend literal years staring at the same walls and same faces everyday? This is hell.
The only thing keeping me here is knowing I have to support my family. But, honestly, the more months go by, the less important that starts to feel

Civilian government employees that are military vets do not remain at any position long enough to actually learn the job. It's a stepping stone to their next promotion. They take a job and then start working toward their next promotion. They never actually learn their current job.

I just need to share my outrage with this requirement on a job posting I found yesterday.
Image text: "Solid work history - no job hoppers please..(no more than 2 jobs in the past 5 years)" end image text.
The kicker? This job posting is on... a temp agency website. Y’know, the place where people go to do different jobs for short periods of time?? 🙄
Didn't, like, all your reader surveys end in favor of job-hopping?
Uh, YES. They definitely did!
Not only does job-hopping lead to higher incomes and faster wealth generation, but it leads to valuable career skills and faster promotions!
Also, job-hopping could be a sign that an employee knows their worth and will not settle for an abusive workplace.
This is bonkers. What are they thinking?
