★ What are some of your favorite books that you don’t see featured enough? I love Jessica Leake’s Beyond a Darkened Shore and Through the White Wood, and wish they were featured on bookstagram more! They are historical fantasies, with Beyond a Darkened Shore blending Celtic and Norse mythology, and Through the White Wood is steeped in Eastern European and Russian folklore. #CurrentlyReading Through the White Wood by Jessica Leake . ❄️ I just started this a couple of days ago and, oh my goodness, I am in love already! I’m such a sucker for winter settings set in old Russia. I went into this story blind. I read this synopsis months ago when I was requesting an arc of this so I knew it must have been interesting. But I am seriously loving it. . ❄️ The fantasy is about earth elemental magic with our main character having a rare form of water magic - ice. She also has a special bond with an eagle that is just beautiful. I can’t wait to get back into this and finish it this weekend. I highly recommend if you love Russian/Slavik-inspired fantasy books. . ❄️ #QOTD: What’s your favorite book you’ve read this year so far? Ciera Princess of Mide has always been protecting her kingdom from the constant raids from the Northman with her strange powers of mind controlling.

Ciera has been getting whispers from the cows of the riad from the Northmen so when they warn her of even more danger coming her way that if not stopped it will destroy the world. Ciera must move. When her Father and clansmen exile her from the kingdom because of there fear of her strange power she finds herself in an alliance with Lief one of the Northmen who was lead to her by the crows

Ciera must come over her hatred for Northmen and her fears from her power to save the world.

Jessica Leake writing is so great you will not want to stop reading. her worldbuilding and her mixing two different mythologies together are so fantastic!! Amazing characters with a lovely romance .this is A must read if you love Vikings, mythology and an epic adventure.
