Also who's Peter? And why is he everywhere in the twilight renaissance? Am I missing something...

first, let me explain who Peter is because he's pretty simple to talk about in the formal sense

Peter is the dude who got Jasper out of the Southern Wars. He was Jasper's right hand man under Maria training newborns. He met a newborn girl in the 30-40s I believe and ran away, something Jasper got punished for by Maria. This girl, Charlotte is Peter's wife for lack of a better term, and accompanied to get Jasper out. And to be honest, he's not really that prevalent in the twilight renaissance, most of the fandom doesnt really care about Peter since hes such a minor character outside of Jasper's backstory, I just love him. Hes in many Jasper fics because he was his best friend/survival buddy and hes basically an unwritten character, meaning you can make his personality/backstory/mannerisms anything you'd like.

And honestly I don't have much to say on fem jasper and bella that would make sense outside of a fic sense, but what I can chalk up is the idea that fem jasper (Jessamine) is this scary looking, butch-y, girl who escaped the hands of male!Maria's (marco? i feel like his name should be marco) army. She's a bamf and thats something really new for female characters in TTS outside of the "bitch" character smeyer uses in abundance. Plus I think Bella can very easily be seen through a queer lens so seeing her in a relationship with a withdrawn, scary, 6'3" blonde woman is my dream (dating fem jasper is actually my dream in reality bit shush)

Her background would be really fun to play out and maybe rewrite, her backstory you can see here from the twilight wiki.

Jessamine and Petra Whitlock; Best Friends Since 1863 from my original "Twilight" fanfiction "Midnight

Jess was turned by Matthew (Maria) to fight in a newborn army in 1863. Petra was turned at the end of 1863 to overthrow Jessamine in the army. They became best friends and worked together to leave. They killed Matthew in 1943. Jessamine found the Cullens in 1948. Jessamine stayed friends with Petra until she also officially joined the Cullen Coven in 2020 and they became sisters.
