Hi Cassie! Huge fan of your books and I absolutely love the Rosales family. My question is, if it's not too spoilery can we learn something about Jaime? Does he still have a pov in TWP?

He does not have a POV in book one. One thing to keep in mind — the last thing we heard about Jaime is that he's missing. As of the start of LKOF, he's still missing. So looking for him is part of the story, and figuring out where he is.

Like, why aren't more people talking about this teaser?

LIKE? This is so clearly TLKOF Ty talking to Dru (not Livvy, because she disappears in TLKOF, convince me otherwise) about Kit! Presumably this is towards the end of TLKOF where both Dru's and Ty's romantic lives and the world in general are in chaos. And this is just a sweet, heart-breaking sibling moment between them where they talk about how everything is messed up and how the people they'd loved had broken their hearts. Since they were away from each other, it would be news to Dru that Ty was in love with Kit, and it would be news to Ty that Dru had given her heart to someone Ty had barely heard of.

Like, just imagine THAT conversation. I'm interested in their dynamic so much because Dru and Ty are going to make a different sibling pair than what we're used to. They weren't close enough to fully understand each other when they were younger. Ty always seemed like the cool older brother to Dru, what with him being so smart and knowing so much about so many things. Dru, on the other hand, was the gothic younger sister, with an inexplicable love for vintage horror and a criminal edge that impressed Kit Herondale, who basically had crime etched in his DNA. But they always protected each other. Like, it was given.

And when I think about all that and try to imagine their special moments, I just can't anymore. *cries inconsolably*

So we all know this Shadowhunter children's rhyme, right? We wouldn't be true TSC fans if we weren't.

Black for hunting through the night

For death and mourning the color’s white

Gold for a bride in her wedding gown

And red to call enchantment down.

White silk when our bodies burn,

Blue banners when the lost return.

Flame for the birth of a Nephilim,

And to wash away our sins.

Gray for knowledge best untold,

Bone for those who don’t grow old.

And bronze to summon wicked powers.

And remember that short story, where Jace proposes to Clary the first time, and quotes, "Green will mend our broken hearts," and how it makes sense because Clary's eyes are green and she mended the person Jace used to be and made him a happy man? In this scene here:

Well, what if that's applicable to other TSC characters as well? Specifically the ones coming up in TWP?

Because, for starters, Ty has gray eyes: as in Gray for knowledge best untold. And we all know how smart Ty is, and how much he wants to learn. He's a freaking Centurion for the Scholomance by the time TWP rolls around!

Secondly, Kit has blue eyes, as in, Blue banners when the lost return. Because Kit is a loss to the Blackthorns, especially to Ty. And because in TWP, Kit comes back, the lost returns. And he has blue eyes? Coincidence, I think not.

Now Dru is a bit complicated, because her eyes are blue-green, so she can mend broken hearts, and she is someone who is lost herself. But it makes sense if we think about her and Ash together. Ash has green eyes; Green will mend our broken hearts, and as we all know, Dru suffers from trauma that she talks about with no one. She's going to basically be the one hot badass goth girl with closeted PTSD trope girl, and Ash is going to put her back together. It can also be seen as a nod to Dru ending up with Ash, and her eyes, being a mix of blue and green, could represent an initial confusion over her affections, what with the JaimexDruxAsh love triangle we all know is coming.
