HELLO ONE PIECE WATCHER are u obsessed yet
YAYA ITS SO AWESOME GAHH IM SO INVESTED 😭!!!! i actually just caught up in the manga to where i am in the anime!! (on ep 81, and on chapter 134!!!) i've shed lots of tears, laughed, and had my heart touched many times since starting it- i'm totally in love!!! I even cried at the same places i did while watching it when reading manga, ahaha!!!
the characters, the world, the designs, the dreams and ambitions everyone has is SOOOSOSO fun and like, inspiring.. just so good-feeling, i'll even wake up and be like "man, can't wait to watch/read one piece today"
the friendships/bonds created between everyone feels like, so strong- its really beautiful! I love how much fun the fights are, and i really adore the small moments between everyone (like when sanji brings out foods/drinks and everyone kinda just, chills and eats?? the food component of things feels so important too, I love seeing what they eat, idk why haha!!!)
i feel like other shows i love don't have enough time to just see everyone hanging out... it makes me so happy, im really thankful for those moments
also i would take a bullet for any of the strawhats in miliseconds!!! an instant!!!! anything for them!!

watched the musical demon show (don't wanna name it so this post isn't in the tags) at the behest of an IRL friend and i can already tell this is going to be a piece of media where i absolutely cannot stop thinking about it, not because i really love the show as-is, but because it has so many individual components i really like and find incredibly fun or compelling, and i'm so frustrated that it doesn't come together for me
i think the main thing i can say about it as a show, setting aside some of the insensitive choices that were made that i really don't feel qualified to tackle or talk about, is that the entire thing sort of gives off this vibe of someone really excited to show you every single oc they made in high school and college and i very genuinely mean that in both the best and worst ways possible
there are some good hooks for season two though so i will absolutely give them that

As promised. Memes:
And as promised, ranting:
Okay, so, real talk, I did not actually like everything in this book, but I still fucked with it SO HARD. Like, honestly, I picked up what this was putting down (a little heavy-handedly, but done so well imho???) and the WAY IT WAS WRITTEN????
Like, I did a course on the Aeneid. And obviously it was a Roman mythos, not Greek, but DAMN, CLAIRE NORTH. I could see my translations!!! Written in the vernacular of english!!! RiGHT THERE IN THE TEXXT!!!! I GOT SO FREAKING EXCITED!!! It's just, such little things. The phrasing of a certain line. The odd usage of certain similes or metaphors that go off about people or places. The strange diversions to explain events or people right in the middle of the text before jumping straight back into the story. IT WAS SO VERGIL GUYS I SWEAR.
(i haven't had to translate the greek myths sorry guys and I read the odyssey so many years ago in english many apologies am working off what I got)
And, like, as I said, it was very heavy-handed as it backhanded the greek poets for ignoring the women but, like, she was right??? It was insane guys. It was absolutely insane. And everyone was so nuanced and had personalities and hopes and dreams and backstories and at points I was worried she was going to sacrifice the guys to further the women??? Which, like, I understand the irony, and obv couldn't super fault her for it, but she ended up balancing everyone out so well??? Like the guys were in the background instead but they were still all unique and had different priorities and shit.
Just, this whole book was such a breath of fresh air. Damn.

Lone wolf turned pack wolf, but is still the only one remembered in history.
Name: Damon
He/Him
Species: Lucario
-Lived in the 5th century. During his lifetime, he witnessed not only the birth of mystery dungeons, but Dark Matter’s first onslaught to the Pokemon World.
-He was a Lucario that lived on the Air Continent. He grew up mostly in solitude, as was customary for Riolu and Lucario at the time.
-He was rather stoic. It was hard to get a read on him and most Pokemon initially thought of him as cold before getting to know him. He deeply valued the Pokemon around him.
-He was the first Pokemon ever documented to have cleared a mystery dungeon. He had seen a Caterpie wander into a forming dungeon and ran into the dungeon to save it. He decided that as long as these dungeons were infecting the land, he would diligently save each Pokemon that had found themselves trapped in the dungeon. He would use his aura to track the Pokemon and determine the floor they were on.
-Due to the scale of his task, he would enlist other Pokemon to help him. He would form groups of four to go into the dungeons, and send other Pokemon he trusted into the dungeons he couldn’t access.
-He became an inspiration to the still-budding Pokemon society. Other Pokemon decided to form their own teams to help Pokemon lost in the dungeons.
-He was not the founder of the rescue team federation. However, it was formed in his honor, and he did help with some of the structure. He was kind of flustered about the “Lucario Rank”.
-Damon was close to the Human and Mew. He was one of the few Pokemon that had avoided turning to stone and had assisted them in the battle against Dark Matter by using his aura. He served as a confidant to the pair. Mew was especially close to him, and when it was time to reincarnate, set his future form as a Riolu in his honor.
-His story is heavily dramatized in books and legends in the present day. In Rescue Team’s time, he had been dead for 100 years and was regarded as an important historical figure
