Mizune lore stuff to go along with my witch lore

Hi coven!! I've had the realization that one of the factors that caused me to absolutely fall in love with your au (other than the fact that it's so well written and amazing) is that I used to have an obsession with Greek mythology as a kid ahfkbdksns and I LOVEDDDD the gods and goddesses I thought and even still think they're so coooool.

So!!! I wanted to ask about the other gods that exist in your world :D since it's been mentioned before both by you AND in fics that the god trio we follow are rather powerful gods compared to others, based on the fact that they each are a god of a Realm. Which means there are many other gods that exist and even some that XD has passed by while walking through the god world! Are they similar to Greek gods then? The ones that aren't powerful gods of a Realm? Are there gods of music, love, war, knowledge, ect? There's even a god of gods, Prime! Is kind of like their version of the Greek Zeus I'm assuming :D

Ik I'm comparing your au a bunch to other things I'm sorry 😭 I just love the comparison and love the world building so much to wanna know more about the godly world of your au ^_^

I love this comparison so much because I do take a lot of inspiration from gods mythology. Specifically from greek, roman and celtic of course being the main ones. I honestly don't mind the comparisons at all.

But yes! There are many gods in the AU! I so badly want to write more about them and some with definitely be making appearances in some of the story but there are a LOT of Gods. Very similar to Greek Gods in that each God is the ruler of a thing, or maybe more. It could be a concept, like love or art or it could be something physical, like mobs or fire. I will give a few as examples of Gods, just because I will adore talking about them :D

Under the cut of course to not annoy people

Prime is very much Zeus inspired, being the God of Gods. They are as old as time, probably the first living thing that ever came and from them they created the Realms and let creatures grow and live from it. They are a very inactive God right now, keeping out of the living world and staying away from the Godly Realm too. Only XD knows where they are currently.

The Gods, Knowledge and Madness, are a sister brother duo. While they are Gods in their own right they are considered as lesser Gods with not much power. They currently reside in the End, keeping the End libraries safe.

Cridhe is the God of healing and currently lives her life as a statue at the Healing Pool in the End. She's a very close friend to XD, almost a mother or older sister to him. Dream and Drista have met her before but Dream doesn't remember her much.

Beldam is the God of the witches, though she is cursed at the moment to reside in the Nether and be cut off from her witches. She will absolutely be appearing the story later so won't say much, but I will say she and 4K have an interesting relationship to one another.

CovenTK (designed and made by @an-inkling-of) is the God of mobs and the moon. They are my good good child and I love them and they're canon. I want them to appear so badly in the AU, maybe they will but they got their own thing going and I'm always going to make more stuff with them.

The God of the Hunt is actually connected to CovenTK right now. They were actually punished by Prime thousands of years ago and were split into two souls. Now they are a timid wolf, named Chase, and a hot-headed deer, named Dash. They are both connected and cannot be separated and CovenTK has adopted them for now.

And there are many many more Gods I could go into but I will restrain myself here other wise this will be LONG. But yes, very much greek inspired. There are also tiers of Gods, like lesser gods being a thing and some Gods were made far later than other Gods (like Knowledge and Madness are one of the youngest Gods) and there's other creatures that don't count as Gods but could technically be compared to mortals. It is a whole crazy mess of powerful Gods.

Also some Gods have chosen to live on the Godly Realm, either giving up their God responsibilities or just choosing to live there and still being a God, but it doesn't have much effect on what they are a God of. If the God of love were to retire or, somehow, die then of course there would still be love. The God of witches is cut off from her witches but she is still considered their God and the witches are still around.

Sundowner walked in to see the commotion, saw electrolytes on the walls and ceiling, and then Nafanua strangling the second guard, and went "I'm gonna give this kid a job :)", how kind of him

And shes basically his evil sidekick that occasionally eats people (she doesnt care for the taste, but grub is grub, and she was taught to not complain)

Don't kill me but I honestly think Yunaka sounds WAY better in the Japanese version and it has nothing to do with the EN voice actress and EVERYTHING to do with the En localization.

this has been said before but i do think the reason spirituality (especially witchcraft) is so popular amongst women is because it gives them a feeling of power in a society designed to keep them powerless. this is especially true considering that a lot of debates happen regarding whether men can be witches, when usually discussions in religion are about what women can and cannot do, whether women can be in positions of power, whether women can be leaders in the religion etc. it’s a refreshing role reversal. 

#just some thoughts #its similar to how religion has worked for centuries as a way of making the working classes feel like theyve got power #/arent totally powerless in the face of inequality #eg a rich man cannot get into heaven. if someone more powerful than you wrongs you they will be punished in their next life etc #obvs not just true for women but that is my focus in this post godess bless #i think a lot about this because i have a friend whose really into it and im a sceptic but try not to hurt her feelings #but i do think its related to powerlessness and being affected by misogyny

I imagine Ishkuat's parents being SO worried about them like they just got told they saw a nautiloid ship take them when they traveled to a coast (I've decided Ishkuat is not gonna be from Faerun) and their eldest sister prays daily that Ishkuat will return home safely, their other sibling sings song in their honor about how much they miss them, while my girl is on Baldurs Gate getting their holes open by the archdruid of the emeral grove, a buff tiefling and a pale ass elf

Speaking of Ishkuat's parents hey I just got through a very traumatic event some hours ago and its a situation I have been expecting since 2 years ago when I had a meltdown and had to go to therapy and my life was changed completely and I want to avoid reliving those feelings in case I might let my mind talk the fears and anxieties that ate me alive like I said so Im gonna info dump everything I have been thinking about the parents because I need to distract myself :)

These are my Tav's parents :D Meet Koshkuat and Ra'Kash. Yesterday I did 2 of Ishkuat's older sisters because Im planing to have botv be important NPCs in the D&D campaign Im making so, like I said before, Im writing a little bit about them now.

So, Koshkuat is a trans male drow, he was the second born "daughter" in his house, he was always rebellious and some of his family respected his way of defending himself, however they did not aprove of him acting as a man, and often threatened to kill him if he "continued this nonesense"

He was forced to train to be a priestess and escaped the temple, running away from the underdark towards Athkatla when he was 100 years old and became a warrior, there he met a skilled mage tiefling, his later husband and father of his children.

Now we turn to Ra'Kash, who had a very simple life as a mage performer ever since he was a child, he is an only child and was seen usually around taverns offering his services as an entertainer but also as an assasin.

One night he laid eyes on this very tall and muscular drow walking down the street and he was in love, the intimidating eyes on that person made his tail curl in excitement and he decided to approach them.

Koshkuat dismissed him, of course. But every night they began to walk together with Ra'Kash speaking mostly as he complimented him. While Koshkuat plotted how to get rid of his whole house by himself he realized it would be too hard, he was a skilled warrior but there was just no way he could kill them all.

So one of those nights while Ra'Kash told him how he would do anything to get his heart he said "If you help me kill my family, we will marry."

He expected the tiefling to stop chasing him after the offering, after all, who would truly in their right mind dare to take on an entire house of drow?

He would. For him? Anything (le dijo: "papito chulo por vos mato a todo el underdark")

And so after months of preparation, they left Athkatla and returned to Koshkuat's home, and succesfully anhilated the entire family, Koshkuat beheaded both his older sister and the matriarch, "ending" their bloodline.

He was surprised to see that the tiefling by his side did not even question what they had done, he was loyal to him and never questioned his identity, he saw him as what he was and treated him with respect and admiration, and very deep? He loooooved being showered by praises and compliments by Ra'Kash. So they did end up marrying afterwards, with Koshkuat now claiming the title of Matriarch for himself,them later having twins, then another child, then another, and other twins 💀 all of them having more prominent features of one of their parents race (for example Ishkuat looks more drow than tiefling but is shorter than their mom and their left eye has black sclera. The older twins (Kuatami and Ajku) both have horns and tail, their skin resembles their mom, have green-ish hair, etc)

Also, if you've noticed a lot of them have the -Kuat or Kuat- in their names. Kuat is the word for snake in Nawat (in nahuatl is coatl) so pretty much Im trying to make the siblings and mom be called something snake

Koshkuat = Koshko + Kuat = Aurora serpent

Ajku = Ajku + Kuat = Sky serpent

Kuatami = Kuat + Atami = Beach serpent

Ishkuat = Istak + Kuat = White serpent

(Last one I did a mistake as I missinterpreted Istak as black and not the actual word that is Tiltik, so if I was to change their name to actually be Black Serpent, it would be Tiltikuat instead of Ishkuat, another interpretation would be Snake eyes since iish is the word for eye in Nawat, and its more grammatically correct then Istak that doesnt have an sh sound.)

Also! The "K" its supposed to be pronounced as a G (Tonces los nombres se pronnunciarian Ishgúat, Goshgúat, Ájgu, Gúatami and so on)
