I've been thinking about Martin and Jon's relationship in season 2, and came across an aspect I hadn't previously considered.

When Micheal stabs Jon it's just them, meaning after Micheal slipped away he left Jon alone in his office. The cut was bad, obviously, bad enough to need stitches, but after a shock like that there's no way Jon took himself to A&E.

He lies that he cut himself with a bread knife, but this lie makes no sense if he was in his office. What I think happened, is upon realising the seriousness of his injury, Jon went to find the nearest first aid kit, most often found in kitchen areas of course.

When Martin comes into the kitchen he finds Jon bleeding all over himself, struggling to open a cheap first aid kit, very stressed, and obviously in a lot of pain. You'd be surprised, but even the most willing people are often incredibly opposed to the idea of hospitalisation for anything less than life threatening, and Jon is NOT the type of person to take a hospital trip lightly.

So, after extensive argument (only ended by Jon becoming too lightheaded to argue his case), they'd go down to A&E, and sit awkwardly together for the hours it takes to finally get seen. There's something so bonding about sitting with someone in their moment of need, even if you're not doing much else but being there.

When you're physically vulnerable like that you also tend to be more emotionally vulnerable; it's easy to blurt out something profound when you're more focused on handling pain and bleeding then you are on censoring yourself.

This experience, especially so soon after Prentiss's attack and all that ensued, opens up that raw connection you can only really ever have in crisis, it may be a trauma bond, as I'm certain they have one, but I think it's also more than that. It's seeing eachother at rock bottom and realising just how important they are to you, and just how awful it'd be to lose them.

It's so early on in their journey, but I think this relatively small event changed the course of their relationship. Martin knew Jon was having a hard time, he complained with Tim, it was clearly distressing, but he still kept an eye on Jon, looked after him. Even in the depths of his distrust this surely broke through Jon's armour, no matter how little he seemed to show it at the time.

The shared crisis of Jon's injury gave Martin an excuse to hang around Jon when he needed it the most and didn't even see it himself.

forever thinking about how the witches in the originals prophesied hope mikaelson would be their downfall and the majority of the supernatural world was expecting her to turn out to be this big evil but then josie had lines like "hope is strong and she's good" and "she is the best of us". she genuinely believed hope was fully and wholly good and never gave up on her, even when it would have been easy to.

not only that but hope and josie's arcs are reflections of each other. josie gave in to her worst fears (that she would become evil if she fought for herself in the merge) and let that become her reality. on the other hand, hope was afraid of not being 'good' and 'worthy' of her family's sacrifice, so when she hit rock bottom she let herself fulfill that in a sense and become what she perceived was exactly like her father's evil side.

josie killed alyssa, making her "irredeemable", and everyone wanted to give up on her. hope hospitalized alaric and killed lizzie, making her irredeemable in a similar way, and even before that people were ready to give up on her and let her go.

but hope refused to give up on josie and told her that her worst fears didn't have to be real and that there was a part of her that was still good; the 'real' josie (to hope). and josie saw that hope didn't let everyone's expectations (or even her own) define her. she still fought to help people. so hope helped josie pull herself out of it, never giving up on her.

and then when hope lost her way, josie did the exact same for her and reminded her of what she'd taught josie 💔 like i'm just never going to be okay about them. it also really gets me that hope's opening and closing lines in the show are about what makes supernaturals villains (or not). makes it feel like hosie's arc was the most central part in telling and showing that story

chuuya always liked how cold dazais body was. It was like a contrast to his warm body and they seemed to fit perfectly together. Though with you it was different, it was almost as you were just a corpse even tho your smile made you look as warm as the sun. He always hated seeing you so reckless just because your body parts could regrow so inhumanly. Chuuya wished he could make your body feel warmth again lie you deserve. it is insane, crazy, nuts how good for kabru being friends with laios is on multiple levels

he has to be honest and direct with laios to communicate. laios is so so earnest and thoughtful to him, and genuinely shows him affection thru food (and kabru cant cook or care for himself) with the harpy omelette (despite the um. misunderstanding between them), promising to take him to a restaurant as a sign of how sincere he is about being kabrus friend now, and kabru returns that favor by not just helping the faligon, but eating it, and staying to eat it until its almost done even though laios assured him he didnt have to. he can get angry with him and not feel like hes fucked it all up by showing his real emotions. something about laios puts kabru more in touch with his deeper desires--he acts in ways he doesnt understand around laios, betrays himself to his conscious mind, because he wants to badly to put his faith in laios and laios did not let him down, not where it mattered. he gets to take on a job laios cannot do for himself as prime minister in training where his skillset is valuable and he can indulge in work that really interests him and it will always be appreciated deeply by not only laios but the whole nation theyre building. for as long as laios is around, he never has to worry about monsters hurting him or his home--and laios is actively working on building a world where monsters can be made tamer through knowledge about them, and has already defeated kabrus biggest fear, the dungeon. laios gives him a safe context to conquer his fear of monsters at his own pace rather than forcing himself into traumatic situations where he dies all the time
