some post wad weekend thoughts...

i just wrote all this on the plane and haven't read it through so apologies for any mistakes

first of all, this weekend was incredible. i usually just kinda sit at home doing not much of anything, and this was a much needed break to actually have some fun. london in general always lifts my spirits but i suppose that danisnotonfire guy contributed a little as well.

guys i think i've met more people the past few days than i otherwise have in years. like. holy shit. i started listing people but i'm petrified i'll forget someone so i chickened out, sorry about that. but you all know who you are. i've met friends i've had for years, people i used to know but haven't spoken to in what feels like a decade, newer friends, and a frankly baffling amount of people i didn't know yet but who told me they've followed me for ages. like holy fuck you guys lmao what the hell??? and i mean did the reaction ever get old no of course it didn't. bad for my ego i'm sure but totally worth it. there's something very amusing and incredibly surreal about being chronically lame in most aspects of life and then suddenly finding yourself in an environment where you're kinda cool???? SO fucking fun oh my god, but also i do kinda feel like i've tricked you all? but hey i'll happily let you keep believing i'm cool, that is more than fine with me.

most importantly though everyone was SO lovely. like i said i don't think i've spoken to this many people in such a short amount of time in years and every single person i talked to was awesome. guys did you know phannies are kind of great... don't tell anyone but, lowkey... everyone is so funny and cool and absolutely insane but in a good way (shoutout everyone left at the gates until the very end, we should probably get some help).

and then lastly of course, mr howell himself. i talk about this a lot i feel like but fuck me that man was born to perform. whether you think he's actually funny or not, nobody can argue he doesn't absolutely thrive on a stage. he plays off the audience so well and he's so very obviously having the time of his fucking life. i'd already seen the show twice before this, and i didn't think anything would top the previous london show but man... the first night he came back out after the show having clearly been tearing up backstage, apologising for being an inconsistent absent parent, and i can't lie the "i had daddy issues and THEN i subscribed to dan howell" got me cause yeah no literally dude, you nailed it, exactly, well done. i think something about doing this show again, his magnum opus as he considers it, now after the dapg return was very special to him. he seems genuinely surprised that so many of us were ready to just jump back in like nothing happened, i don't think he was expecting so many people to still be waiting and it's... man. he comes off so grateful for us all and it's so fucking sweet. and then on the last night, i think that was my favourite, when the show ended and he got the standing ovation and people throwing him flowers.. he was so HAPPY. and clearly overwhelmed with emotion which, i gotta say, there is something honestly kinda funny about daniel howell standing in front of you trying not to cry. like no by all means dude go ahead, please, you've made me cry an endless amount of times it's only fair.

ugh. i'm proud of him or whatever. dick. and i'm proud of our ridiculous fucking community. i'm not sure what 14 year old nora would say if you'd told me i'd still be kicking it in the phandom a decade on, but at almost 25 (fml) i'm so so happy to be here still. you know, we get a bad rep, but i genuinely think as far as fanbases go we're pretty solid. and i love you all so much.

i believe i will have to rob a bank or something because the next time dan and/or phil do a tour i think i'll have to just show up at every date like i'm sorry but this was too good of a high we need to do it again immediately

anyway. back to work 💪

Shauna pretends to give you space but will actually follow you from a distance. Not necessarily in a possessive way, she's just really worried about you getting hurt

She's not very good at being stealthy though so you'd definitely hear sticks breaking behind you. You eventually just give up. You turn around and look directly at her. "Just come here 😒😒"

Shauna's deceptively strong, which definitely shows a lot in the wilderness. Since she insists on following you around during your chores you make her do all the heavy lifting. “god this water pail is so heavy 😔😔. If only there was a big strong man to carry it for me.” Shauna teleporting from halfway across the forest fr like “I’ve got it y/n. 💪🙄”

she would get so so so excited if you offered to help her do butcher stuff. she’s watching you field dress a rabbit and is practically salivating. she’s such a violent little freak (affectionate). she pulls you away afterwards to make out and you’re like “i still have blood on my hands??”

being out in the wilderness has her bored as hell because why is she explaining the entire plot of wuthering heights to you. “Y/N? Y/N did you fall asleep??”

constantly being covered in hickeys and little marks. it's a possessive thing but shauna also just really likes to bite

the other yj’s watching Shauna spoon you every night and she's just like “...it’s to conserve body heat.” Van in the background: “It’s July though.”

Volto is the direct personification of someone surrounded by the wrong company. And not so much a company that instills bad habits and opinions, but a company that makes you feel alone. Despite being the number 3, Volto is both an outcast and an integral part of the troupe. He is Pierrot. This is his role, and it's often the subject of jokes and ridicule from the other Arrancar. No theater or circus performance can do without a sad clown because other people's grief is funny. Ljung doesn't share the views of the other members of the troupe about the importance of fun and entertainment in life. He does understand them, because he has been in the same boat as them for hundreds of years now, but he can't find the strength to be content with the same things as others. There is simply nothing to smile about. He has a somewhat nihilistic outlook on life and considers his situation hopeless. But he is still firmly convinced that the seeker will always find either death or answers to his own questions. Only he doesn't know what exactly he should be looking for. As he will realize later - the right people. He clearly understands his position in the group and in this world. He is still here, despite the condescending attitude of others, only because he is useful and there is no point in running away - he has explored Hueco Mundo from high up several times, each time convincing himself even more that there is NOTHING there, and in the human world, he will forever remain a stranger. And there was nothing to do there alone anyway. So Volto simply accepted his fate, smothering the last shreds of hope. He sees his own salvation in fulfilling the troupe's goal, whether it be his own death or world domination. In fact, Volto isn't half as pessimistic as he appears in the story, he's just tired and apathetic due to circumstances. If you strip away all that, you'll find that he has a rather rebellious attitude and a kind, relaxed personality. He's no stranger to emotions and feelings. He's also a cunning son of a bitch and knows a lot about others because he's omnipresent, even though you may not even realize he's around. A moderately cruel but loyal friend. My friend once said he has a hippie vibe and she's probably right. Well, bro is something between a metalhead and a hippie, if we're gonna get into archetypes. Volto is very interested in befriending Ikkon, as they are both loners with untapped talents and potential, but it is to no avail. He constantly follows him around the building whenever the opportunity presents itself and tries to strike up a conversation one way or another. Agreda, as you can imagine, doesn't like that very much. But the two of them have developed a close bond nonetheless.

His ability is to manipulate flesh while absorbing enough of its biomaterial - either the flesh itself or blood. With the living, it is limited in time and effect (plus, the amount he's eaten also plays a role), but with the dead, he can do whatever he wants, up to completely altering the body structure into something completely different - like weapons, wings, or decorative elements. The formation of the troupe was by no means an easy or quick process and "selecting the cast" and establishing the rules of coexistence left behind mountains of corpses, almost all of which Volto got to use. Even now, what remains after his comrades-in-arms falls into his hands. From ones deliberately killed for some peculiarity that would come in handy, to decapitated victims of Ikkon's doings. As time went on, the presence of once-living puppets around him began to take a toll on Volto. No matter how depersonalized he tried to make them, the thought of their origins would not leave him. Activating his Resurrección gives Volto wings with a very large spread and an additional joint that allows him to fold them over his head like a roof. On the back side, they look normal, but on the underside, they are not fully covered in plumage and are full of a large number of strange-looking furrows of flesh and holes from which poison or poisonous gas oozes. Also possesses a deadly breath. The ability aims to take either the life of the victim or someone around them as quickly as possible to use as a puppet later. In short, pessimism is contagious, it poisons not only your life but also those around you, you know *wink-wink*. The power of his wings easily helps him to lift sand into the air and make sandstorms. Pazuzu is a demon of winds, bringing death and drought. Was named after an archetype of Italian theatrical masks (if you can call it that) that most resemble a human face without emotion - Volto. Pirro is a variation of the spelling of Pierrot's name, and the last name Ljung belongs to the Norwegian bass player from Zeromancer, Kim Ljung.

Professor🌱:

Probably going to have to go with Juniper! I don't care much for the professors but bw2 were my first games so strong bias towards her!

Rival💥:

This time it's not bias, I just adore Hugh. He's a stern mess and I love it. Made him and my insert oc besties because again bw2 were my first games!

Gym Leader💪:

I just discovered this account, so I'm not sure if this has already been asked but what do you think about the "Gregory is Patient 46/GGY" idea? Got any thoughts, theories or headcanons about it?

Well I've gotta say. It is indeed, an idea.

Like okay, knowing me, I should be foaming at the mouth about this idea. Like HELL YEAH THE POTENTIAL ANGST THIS CAN CREATE!! THE DUALITY OF GOOD AND EVIL THAT CAN FIGHT INSIDE GREGORY AND LEAD TO CHARACTER DRAMA!!

But for some reason, I just don't think this idea works for Gregory?? Like on top of being a surprisingly tech savvy homeless preteen, HE'S ALSO A MURDERER AND MASTER HACKER!! It's almost giving me a nostalgic whiplash back to those edgy overpowered ocs you'd find on fnaf deviantart or God forbid QUOTEV CREEPYPASTA 😭😭

I also think that if it does end up canon, then the hatred for Gregory can now be validated as just and canon "We can hate him because he's canonically evil!!" Even Vanessa and WILLIAM are accepted as innocent babies who do no wrong but Gregory is PURE EVIL according to them ❗❗❗🔥🔥🔥

Also, how can ANYONE die to this small, 12 year old boy? Believe me I was a kid once too (twas a long time ago,,) and I could bite and scratch sure, but kill?? C'mon. You're telling me this probably malnourished (as implied in game) boy can kill grown adults? Not one of them thought of punting him out of existence?? HE'S LIKE- CHUCKY SIZED YOU CAN BEAT HIM

I'm still lowkey wishing at least the Mimic is the only book thing in the games (Absolutely hate the fact that its Canon now but I've unfortunately accepted it, kind of like a disgruntled step parent to the step child yk??) and I'm still hoping Vanessa is patient 46 as was originally implied in the OG version of SB (presumably, might have to rewatch the gameplay again)

But besides all that, as for theories/headcanons...

IF GREGORY CANONICALLY MURDERED HIS PARENTS AS DR. RABBIT I CAN AND WILL SCREAM MY LUNGS OUT 😭😭😭 I can't imagine how fucking tragic that would be!! Like sure it's almost Batman villain levels of insane BUT IT WOULD BE CRAZY

I do sadly expect they'll confirm P 46! Greg in HW2. Or at least they'll put GGY references in the game. I'll be very upset if it does happen BECAUSE I'LL HAVE TO REWRITE MY AUS AND TIMELINES ONCE MORE 💔💔

While the idea of Gregory manually killing people himself is funny (because again, tiny child vs fully grown adult, they can totally kick his ass!!) He probably used the robots as his minions (I actually do think that's what happens in the books?? But I've never read them so I don't quite know) (AND I'M NEVER GONNA KNOW!! GOOSEBUMPS IS SUPERIOR!! 💪🗣❗🔥)

Yeah, Octavinelle is a good example of a group that we love a lot, but only see as platonic! I feel like I say that all the time but I would watch a long series just about these three and their shenanigans. They’re super fun and super funny…

I also love it when Ortho interacts with the Tweels, because they have this “oh no they’re going to teach him bad things” energy lol

Idia and Vil are also a nice combo, because I just really love it whenever Vil gives him a pep-talk.

+ Not a Brotp, but Malleus and Rollo have fun chemistry, even though we don’t ship them.

In general, since the characters are so different and well-written, combining a lot of them is usually very entertaining to watch!

The more it think about it, the more I kind of like the idea of the Shrouds parents not showing their faces ever lol Just thinking about the possibilities is fun + it leaves the funny idea of both of them having burning hair as a possible option. But in actuality, I think that Idia’s dad looks pretty similar to Idia, but obviously older and with shorter hair. As far as their mom goes, I have zero thoughts lol she’s probably cute though.

Can’t say much about them personality-wise, but Azul would try suuuuper hard to make the best impression possible. He would be super excited to meet them and to become a part of his family properly, he would consider it one of the most important deals in his life. He’s calling it “a deal” as if Idia is some kind of a product, geez…

He might win over the mom (or at least think that he did win her over), but the dad probably would see just how fake and super pushy he is. In any case, everyone in the Shrouds’ family would probably think that Azul is annoying on some level lol

Osato-san’s work is very good, I stumble upon it sometimes! Unfortunately for us, they prefer IdeAzu over AzuIde though, so I don’t scroll it too much… but the comics you’ve mentioned are indeed cute.

We know that Silver is the son of the guys that Lilia has fought and they have a war with, and that Silver’s dad (ancestor??) is hot (for some reason I still have a pixiv tab of R18 doujin with him open fsiuhfs), there is also some fat guy nobody likes from the same team, and everything is very sad and depressing. I guess we thought it’s enough to agree with the anon who told us about Snake and Silver being similar?..

We also know that Lilia used to simp on Mallenoa/Meleanor and Levan, and that Mallenoa/Meleanor basically pinned an egg on Lilia and told him to raise a baby dragon. Lilia is also a grumpy cutie who doesn’t want to be called oyaji-dono, awww~

Oh and the fact that Sebek’s grandpa is voiced by Koyasu; that absolute madman just keeps finding us everywhere…

What jobs I think the pdudes would have instead of being the unemployed friends on the weekend:

P1- For some reason I really see him doing something in a field where he works on computers/technology. I’m not sure what he does exactly but maybe a developer of some sort?? Or something like that. Not really a game developer though but if he was one it would probably be a old style fighting game. Slightly unrelated but he wears his pajamas to work and no one says anything.

P2- I feel like he’d be in some kinda nu metal band. I don’t know really why, I just get that vibe. He would be the drummer. He’d have piercings and the tattoo sleeves he has in p4 already. He only really invites male groupies back stage 😳 he does a little makeup also every now and then.

P3- My first thought is that he works at Cracker Barrel. Just in general he’d probably work at any diner but my man is just giving Cracker Barrel. But I can also see him working at a sports/hunting store also.

P4- I doubt many people will agree with me on this one but…I think he would work somewhere where he could help people. Not a therapist bc…yknow his own mental health but maybe he works with the homeless or elders. (idk how lgbt help centers work tbh but maybe he’d be involved in that somehow). I can also see him working at Build a bear 😢😢 (okay more like I want him to but shhh).

Corkscrew- He works at a gym 💪 He’s very motivational and funny but he gets distracted a lot bc everyone flirts with him.

5. What were they like in college?

I feel like Kendall was still in the grips of Logan’s claws in college of course. He was in a different city, a different state, and I do think that physical proximity away from Logan helped him feel a little bit looser on the leash. That relieved him as much as it scared him. Didn’t amount too much more, but waking up in the morning without the anxiety of his father’s stature looming over him is a nice relief. While I don’t believe it on a personal ideological level, I think Jesse Armstrong’s claim that “people don’t change, not really” (He said it in an interview but I can’t for the life of me find which one if someone can help out) holds a lot of weight to their relationship. Like, Kendall’s course of action and motivations may change but on a fundamental level he still revolves solely around his father. That will never change. So I feel like, much how he does now, if Stewy wanted to either guide Kendall in a direction (for financial/tactical purposes or otherwise), he would do what works best, and that’s frame Logan’s approval/disapproval as an attainable asset in whatever they’re cooking. “You gotta demonize him before you kill his ass.” “I saw what he did to you when you were a kid, I was there.” I think part of Stewy realizes that Kendall’s world revolving solely around Logan, even through disdain, is unhealthy. But I do think he assumes that’s so much more healthier for him than being the dog that keeps crawling back. I think Stewy gave Kendall his first blunt, first line, first beer. And yeah, while maybe he partially fumbles with that guilt a little considering Kendall’s rehab trip, I do think Stewy is still a private equity finance bro who’s perception and understanding of addiction is shaky at best. His drug habits started in Harvard (assumably) a period in his life where (assumably) the company and his family didn’t have as close reach to him. See; my first point.

Of course they had the late night “We’re gonna take over the world, man. It’s gonna be ours.” But i don’t know, personally that always seemed kind of bittersweet and bleak, which fits. Two 1% bozos circlejerking about they can’t wait to own the world and profit off of inequality because of capitalism and Logan’s assurance that Kendall serves no other purpose. The fact that that’s eventually unattainable to both of them says a lot about their dynamic, yeah? It’s depressing on all fronts. Uhhh what else, I think Stewy is the only man Kendall ever fucked. Stewy fooled around some though, Harvard boys make do. I think they had those funny celebrity magazine clippings mentioning them, probably some jokes about Kendall sucking dick like stock or some corny MTV bullshit. Most of them would be testimonies of people calling Kendall annoying and stuck up. Rumors about him using and Stewy’s involvement yatta yatta. I’m sure Stewy likes the attention though, even if it’s often indirect. I know I would. Also my truth is @onemagpie @doodoocumfart and @ophiocordycep draw my ideal college KenStewy like those goobers just exist in my mind now to me they are real and palpable.

Not my concern. I think sexuality and labeling in Succession is such like, a particularly alien concept for these characters. I think @romanroydinnerparty has made some insanely spot on posts that probably explain that point a lot better than I can. But I do think the idea of Kendall using his bisexuality as pseudo-woke publicity bullshit (like the faux-feminism arch) and doing the “QUEER AF CEO💪🏳️‍🌈” thing is sooooo funny.
