Louis’ hands went back into the chest and came out with the slinky top he’d been wearing when they first kissed. It moved through his hands like water, so light it would have slipped through if he hadn’t tightened his hold.  “I was wearing that when-" “I remember,” Louis whispered. He pressed it to his nose, but it couldn’t smell like anything other than the cedar of the hope chest. A zip ran through his chest that in a room ensconced with Harry’s scent, he still held that to his face to chase the memory. That it was as sweet to him as it was to Harry. “That was years ago,” Louis said, looking up at him. “Well, yeah,” Harry said, smiling lightly. “But it was important to me.”  Louis’ eyes stayed on him, intense and bright blue. Like the sky opening up right in front of him. When he looked back to the chest, Harry missed the sight of them.

He was obsessed with revenge, with finding his parents' killer. Obsessed with the 20 year long hunt to uncover the truth. So much so it would be the only thing to plague his mind. Every day and every night thinking the same things on repeat; a one-track CD exclusive. It made everything exhausting. Made living hard that way; being so determined and obsessed that it often made him look crude, aloof, as though he didn't care. That couldn't be farther from the truth though.

Barnaby's obsession is merely fueled by his passion. For justice, for equality, for closure, for hope. That kind of dedication, that kind of devotion, it's bound to pull others in--expected or not.

And that's exactly what happened when Kotetsu T. Kaburagi tangled himself up in Barnaby's passion-fueled obsession. Helped him unravel the secrets of his past, filling in the blanks in ways he'd never thought possible. Until the truth would be found. Until justice saw the light of day. Until the need for revenge was replaced by a need for something more. The need for a connection. The need for trust.
