"Civil cases are the ones I dread the most. Divorces, custody disputes... it's a thankless task trying to unpack these kinds of cases with logic and reason. You have to be kind, courteous and patient with your clients, even though half the time they are completely incapable of participating in a constructive discussion."

love in las vegas | mark webber
through the decades masterlist
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Las Vegas, 1967
Mark didn’t know why he even agreed to accompany his friends to sin city. He would much rather stay in his cosy bed and sleep, but he knew how much the trip meant to his friend, Tom, since it was a bachelor party.
“Think we’ll get lucky tonight?” Tom asked Mark as they walked the Las Vegas strip. Tom had talked all day about going to the casino so he was more than confident that he would be walking home with a few hundred dollars.
“I don’t want to jinx it.” Mark chuckled. Soon the group of friends found themselves in Caesars Palace. Mark never imagined himself at such a fancy place like Caesars Palace. He always thought it was for big name celebrities like Paul Newman and Audrey Hepburn.
Still he was here to enjoy time with his friends.
“Hey, I think I’m going to check out the rest of the building. I heard the pool is pretty nice.” Mark said to the group, but no one heard him since they were too busy on the slot machines.
He walked away and found himself wandering around. He wasn’t sure what direction the pool was located in so he kept walking and admiring the art work on the walls. That was until a sweet voice caught his attention.
“Honestly, Mary, why can’t I go alone? I’ve done it once, I can do it again. Fuck what the press thinks, they already think I’m a bitch!”
Mark watched as the most beautiful woman in the world walked down the hall. She had on red heart glasses and wore a shade of red lipstick that Mark loved. He couldn’t take his eyes off of her until he almost bumped into a wall.
“Mary, I’m going to be by the pool. All this thinking is making me stressed and I can’t be stressed.” Mark didn’t want to seem like a stalker, but he was going to the pool either way.
He watched as you were greeted by every person as you made your way to a cabana. You took your sunglasses off and laid on the lounge chairs.
Go talk to her . . No, she’s busy. . But it can’t hurt, right? It might! Think positive!
His inner thoughts were stopped when you called for him. He looked around thinking you were calling someone else, but he was proven wrong when you pointed at him.
“You are talking to me . . ” Mark nervously chuckled as he approached your cabana.
“Well yeah, you look lost.” You laughed. “You have an accent. I take it you’re not from here.”
“No, I’m from Australia. I’m just here with a couple of friends. They’re in the casino.” Mark explained.
“You can sit down, I don’t have germs.” You joked when you noticed that he was still standing. So Mark sat in the lounge chair across from you. “How are you liking Vegas?”
“It’s loud that’s for sure. It’s . . . perfect for those fancy rich celebrities. Especially those actors like that guy from to kill a mockingbird!”
“Gregory Peck? He’s lovely. Wonderful kisser too.” You reply with a smirk.
“What? Is it like a rumor?”
“No, I speak from experience. It was also lovely to work with him. He invited me to his house in California. I declined, but it was still nice of him to invite me.” You recalled the time your friend had invited you to his California home.
“Wait . .” Mark thought for a second. “You’re —”
You nodded. “One of those ‘fancy rich celebrities’ except I don’t come to Vegas often. I’m only here a couple hours. You see, I am supposed to be on a flight to Santa Monica for the academy awards, but I wanted to spend some time here. I like it here, it’s one of the few places I enjoy.”
Mark instantly felt like an idiot. He didn’t mean to insult you. Well then again, he didn’t know you acted. He hardly watches any new movies anyways. He had been busy with racing.
“I never asked you your name.” You said.
“Mark.” The Australian replied.
“Well Mark, do you want to explore Vegas with me?”
Mark didn’t have to think twice. You took him to your favorite restaurants, took pictures with your Polaroid and walked the strip until your feet ached. But there was one final stop that was a must do when you’re in Vegas.
Graceland Wedding Chapel
Was it a stupid decision? You and Mark didn’t think so.
That night, you had married a nice stranger.
“I can’t believe that we just got married!” Mark said as you walked out of the chapel with the certificate in hand. “Holy shit, we’re married!”
“Call me Mrs. Webber.” You held out the hand that Mark had been holding. The Australian grabbed it and kissed it.
“I think this is the best night of my life.” Mark sighed. “Wait, that makes my life sound extremely sad. Don’t listen to me.”
You laughed. “It’s okay. This is the best night of my life too and I’ve been to so many places, but being here with you is my favorite.”
As Mark leaned in to place a kiss on your lips, you gasped and pulled back. You had completely forgotten about the academy awards ceremony that you needed to attend in a few hours.
“I need to go! Wait, you need to go with me too!” You said.
“What? I can’t!”
“Why not? We just need to get to Santa Monica, get you a suit and get to the ceremony. I’m nominated for best actress!”
Best actress? You couldn’t miss that!
“Fine, but if my friends find out I ditched them—”
“They won’t notice you’re gone, I promise.”
Mark grabbed your hand and together you ran to the parking lot where his Porsche had been parked. Before you could get the chance, he opened the door for you and gave you a charming smile.
“Mrs. Webber.” He winked.
“You’re too kind, Mr. Webber.” You blushed.
Soon, you and Mark were on your way to Santa Monica. Mark had rolled the windows down and turned up the music. It was perfect. You could feel the cool air going through your hair, the sweet sound of ‘I think we’re alone now’ by Tommy James and The Shondelles filled your ears. Mark kept glancing at you every chance he got. In his eyes, you were the love of his life. He was a firm believer in soulmates and here you were in the passenger seat of his Porsche. You were living proof that love at first sight existed and he was head over heels in love with you.
The four hours it took to get to Santa Monica, you and Mark talked, sang and you even got a few minutes to nap. When you arrived, you took Mark to get a suit. Mark had only wore a suit a handful of times. He hated wearing them as a child, but now they weren’t too bad.
“What if I get asked a question?” Mark asked. “I don’t know anything about movies or actors!”
“Relax, i lie when I don’t know stuff. It’s fun.” You smile.
“It’s easy for you, you’re an actress. Wait, what if someone asks who I am to you? Don’t you have to talk to your manager or someone important before you say something?” Mark was too busy stressing while you were busy thinking how you were going to celebrate even if you didn’t win.
“Tell them the truth. You’re my husband, is that a bad thing?”
Being married wasn’t a bad thing, especially if you were his wife, mark thought. He would marry you everyday of his life if he could.
“I’ll scream it from the highest rooftop if I have to.” He kissed you.
After giving the cashier his last fifty dollars for the suit, Mark drove you to the Beverly Hills Hotel where your manager and makeup team were. He had never stepped foot in such a fancy hotel like the Beverly Hills before, sure he was in Cesars palace not too long ago, but the Beverly Hills was an upgrade.
You eventually made it to your room and entered the suite. Again, Mark was amazed by every little thing from the painting on the wall to the fluffy pillows. You honestly found it adorable.
“Where have you been?” Your makeup artist, Alexander, asked you.
“It’s a long story. Alex meet Mark, Mark meet Alex. There, we’re all good on introductions for now.” You smiled as you sat in the makeup chair.
“Where did you find him?” Alexander questioned as he got started on your makeup.
“Vegas. He’s Australian and he’s technically my husband. I’m Mrs. L/n-Webber.” You stated confidently. You were living up to the title now.
“What!?” Mark stood beside your chair not knowing if Alexander hated him or not. He wished he was anywhere else.
“Relax, we won’t say anything about it to the press.”
And that was the biggest lie. Well, sort of.
By the end of the night, Mark was introduced to most of the biggest faces in Hollywood. He got to walk the red carpet and posed for pictures with you. He also got to witness you win your first academy award where you publicly declared your love for him.
“Lastly, I want to thank Mark. These past few hours have been the craziest, but I wouldn’t change a thing.” You spoke into the microphone as you held your golden statue in your hands.
Mark was seated beside your manager, Henry, who was thankful the night was almost over. Little did Mark know that his friends had been watching the ceremony in their Vegas hotel room. Some of them were still drinking while others wondered how Mark even got an academy award winner to marry him.
The Australian smiled as you left the stage. This was certainly an interesting night that nobody would forget and nobody did. You and Mark stayed married. While Mark raced all over the world, you worked on numerous films and won awards. During the summer of 1969, you gave birth to your first child, a girl named Diana. Then four years later, your baby boy was born. Little Michael Webber, a spitting image of his father. You were in love with your little family even if it all started with a wild night in Vegas. You wouldn’t change any of it.

Now that I'm starting to get past the denial stage of being a system, it's been really nice getting to pull the other two out of their "comfort" zones.
Crow for a while was going by Fledge because they thought of themselves as a baby that just was tagging along for the ride, but now they've grown their feathers and have been finding a sense of identity again while we've been sorting out memories (picture a couple people sitting around a box full of forgotten photographs and passing them around while sharing stories) to see what period of time Crow was the host for. They are also redesigning their mental avatar in the headspace
Jay (short for blue jay, inspired by the phrase "Shoot all the bluejays you want ... but remember it's a sin to kill a mockingbird" [Atticus, chapter 10, "To kill a Mockingbird" Harper Lee] because they see themself as a bluejay that has been shot over and over again to protect the mockingbirds) didn't want a name for the longest time because they purely came out to endure abuse. But we've been reaching out to Jay for a little bit now that we are so much safer and are mature enough to share these sorts of burdens moving forward. We're now working on helping Jay learn to enjoy life along side us and to heal, and picking a name was a huge step on that because previously they refused to have a name so they couldn't be called out because they only thought of themself as a shield, and now they are a person
I, as Wren, have been working on controlling our stress and anxiety. I've been the host since late 2020 or early 2021. At first I just thought I couldn't remember much of my past, but Crow has those memories. When we found out that Crow was a previous host, I was a little worried they would be jealous, but it's been nice talking with each other about our experiences. I know some people who have had existential issues over finding out they weren't the original host, but I've been fortunate enough to have Crow and to have my supportive friends and it's helped me come to terms with it really well
P.S. on the subject of pronouns, Wren uses she/her, and those are also the pronouns to address us by if you don't know who is fronting (but it's almost always Wren). Crow uses they/them pronouns. Jay is still figuring it out

"I wanted you to see what real courage is..... It's when you know you're licked before you begin, but you begin anyway and see it through no matter what".
"Mockingbirds don't do one thing but make music for us to enjoy. They don't eat up people's gardens, don't nest in corncribs, they don't do one thing but sing their hearts out for us. That's why it's a sin to kill a mockingbird."
To Kill a Mockingbird is a novel by the American author Harper Lee. It was published in 1960 and
was instantly successful. In the United States, it is widely read in high schools and middle schools. To Kill a Mockingbird has become a classic of modern American literature; a year after its release, it won the Pulitzer Prize. The plot and characters are loosely based on Lee's observations of her family, her neighbors and an event that occurred near her hometown of Monroeville, Alabama, in 1936, when she was ten.

Tumblr media
"This is a documentary following the reign of terror brought about by notorious Serial Killer Jason Todd, and his indoctrinated yet loyal lover, Y/n L/n. Warning, this film contains mature themes that young viewers may find disturbing."
An image of you staring out of the barred window of your cell flashes onto the screen. You're muttering a small phrase to yourself that's inaudible to the viewers. The fingers on your right hand are clutched tightly around a handwritten letter and your leg bounces impatiently.
The screen then flashes to Jason, who sits in a cell identical to yours. He's twirling a pencil between his fingers and reading To Kill A Mockingbird with a gentle smirk on his face. A pair of guards approach the cell with handcuffs and Jason leaves the book open on the cot with an singular underlined line.
"Shoot all the bluejays you want, if you can hit 'em, but remember it's a sin to kill a mockingbird."
The handsome face of Bruce Wayne appears with the interviewer sitting off screen and attempting to gauge how Gotham's resident billionaire was feeling about what his adopted son and girlfriend had done.
"So, what can you tell us about Jason growing up?"
The screen flickers to a stoic Dick Grayson.
"Growing up, Jason was... intense. He'd always been just a little bit much y'know?"
When it flashes to Tim, he's sitting at his desk in Wayne Enterprises and doesn't even glance up at the camera.
"I don't know. Jason was a normal kid as far as I could tell. We really weren't that close."
Tim doesn't appear for the remainder of the documentary. It was clear that he was hiding something behind his light blue irises, but in any case, the film crew couldn't get time on his schedule to ask him any more questions.
"I adopted Jason when he was 12. I'd hoped to be able to love the darkness out of him. When he was kidnapped and pronounced dead, something shifted in him and he just wasn't really the same anymore. I guess that's where all of this started with him."
The voice of the FBI Agent who arrested the two of you appears over a fuzzy video of you and Jason waltzing through a hotel lobby. The dress you were wearing looked like it cost an arm and a leg even though the flickering static of the footage. There wasn't any sound but it was clear that you had your head thrown back in a laugh.
"The love story between Todd and L/n was incredibly unusual. You had this sweet, girl-next-door beauty who suddenly found herself the object of a damaged, yet devastatingly handsome man's affections."
Pictures filled the screen of police reports and evidence from way back when in the case. The bloody crime scenes, the hearts he'd mailed to you, the image of the street worker who's chest had been carved beyond belief.
"It's only predictable that, especially after the kidnapping, that this woman might find herself with one of the strongest cases of Stockholm Syndrome that the Bureau's ever seen."
Suddenly, Jason's face was shown. He was sitting behind a layer of plexiglass and guards were posted in every corner of the room.
"Jason, we've spoken to a few of your family members, but what was your relationship with Y/n like?"
Jason smiled boastfully and sat up a little straighter in his seat at the mention of your name.
"Y/n and I are so in love and she's the best wife I could have ever asked for. There's nothing more freeing than finding yourself in an unexpected romance. Nothing could ever come between us. Y/n, if you're watching this beautiful, I dream of you every night and I promise that when they finally kill me, I'll find you again. I will always be closer to you than your breath."
"After L/n's first kill, she and Todd left Star City, where she'd been at the time. A conversation with her previous employer and friend Roy Harper suggested that even those deepest in L/n and Todd's personal life had no idea what was going on behind closed doors. Todd and L/n are considered two of the deadliest people to have ever lived. The combined efforts of the pair's sex appeal and ingenuity made them the most elusive of criminals."
An image of you smelling a rose was next to take over the screen.
"So, Y/n, what was your relationship with Jason like?"
You chuckled gently and brushed a piece of hair from your face.
"Being with Jason was being as free as a mockingbird. A lot of people think that there was some sort of Stockholm Syndrome involved but, at least on my end there wasn't any. I pledged allegiance to him and after that, everything was easy."
"What was easy?"
"It's a love story of a new age on the six page. We were on a quick rampage. All of it. I mean the wining and dining, drinking and driving afterwards, excessive buying. Overdosing on drugs, love, dreams, and our anger. Somewhere the lines got blurred I'm sure and sometimes it was a little lonely, but I needed someone to hold me and he did it so well in his expensive hotels."
"You mentioned earlier, if you don't feel like it was Stockholm Syndrome, then what was it?"
"It was love."
The documentary cuts to a video of you and Jason at dinner. You were staring at each other across the table. He held your hands in the center of the table and it was clear that the two of you were in your own little world in the restaurant. Your voice appeared over the video as you talked about your first impressions of Jason.
"And I remember when I met him. It was so clear that he was the only one for me, and we both knew right away. As the years went on, things got more difficult, we were faced with more challenges. At first I begged him to leave me alone, to try to remember the friendship we had in the beginning. He was charismatic, magnetic, electric and everybody knew him. When he walked in the room, every woman's head turned and everyone stood up to talk to him. He was like this hybrid, this mix, of a man who couldn't contain himself."
Your head tilted slightly and you paused.
"I always got the sense that he became, torn, between being a good person and missing out on all of the opportunities that life could offer a man as magnificent as him. And in that way, I, understood him. And I loved him. I loved him, I loved him, I loved him. And I still love him."
"The relationship of Jason Todd and Y/n L/n was unique. She brought out the best in him in the worst way. Jason Todd was executed on Death Row on April 27th. Y/n was executed a short week afterwards thereby ending the couple's reign of terror."
"I love him."

ITS A SIN TO KILL A MOCKINGBIRD
ahaha so yeah this is just something small i whipped up for wanderer/scaramouche/whatever because hyv knew what they were doing when they gave us free reign to name him
(it took me days to find a good name for him im such a pathetic simp)
wc / 0.9k
cw / should be nothing? its a pretty normal fic idk what else there would be here
“What about ‘Tsugumi’?”
Reactions were mixed. The now named Tsugumi looked down, tilting his hat to cover his face. The Traveler and Paimon ponder over it, before nodding at each other and deciding it was good (albeit somewhat long). Nahida claps with a close-eyes smile, happy that the wandering puppet had a new name.
“If you’re sure.”
Nahida clapped, a gentle close-eyed smile on her face.
“There, now you have a name of your own.”
While Paimon fails to come up with an ugly nickname, Tsugumi thinks over his new name once more. He couldn’t think of any hidden meaning behind the seemingly normal name. Many of the characters he could think of for the name didn’t seem to match any sort of malicious connotations.
With that all over, you accompany the Traveler and Paimon to their temporary living space. You wave them goodbye, exhausted and ready to hit the hay.
Before you do, you see a familiar gleaming anemo vision in the corner of your eye. You walk as quietly as you could to see if you could spook the puppet (if he even could be scared by something as obvious as you walking in from his side…)
“Boo!”
Tsugumi peers over to his left to see you with your hands up like claws near your head. He sighs at the mischievous shine in your orbs, turning to face you fully.
“What do you want? I thought you stayed back to whisper about me with that pesky Traveler and Lesser Lord Kusanali.”
You lower your arms in front of you, crossing them, seemingly amused by his question. He cringes, suddenly feeling as though he made the wrong decision by even talking about such a thing in the first place.
“Hmm, I don’t want much, just wanted to see how you were doing after everything.”
“Thanks so much for your concern. I’m doing absolutely swell, so you don’t have to worry your pretty little head about how I am.”
He pulled out that nauseously sweet voice that would have sounded genuinely convincing had he been anyone else. However, this was the puppet that was betrayed thrice over and was not at all taking it well.
“If that’s the case, then I hope you at least find somewhere safe to sleep. Cities like these are dangerous at night, y’know?”
You lecture him as though he were a child. He clicks his tongue, finding it irritating that a mere human was telling him what to do.
“I mean really, Tsumugi, what would you do if not for me?” You whip your hand as if you were flipping your hair, smile not at all serious.
He ponders for a second. His new name felt so natural out your mouth, as though it had been his name his centuries long life. He’s had so many titles, so many names, and called so many different things that sometimes he… forgets.
He forgets who called him what, forgets what he called them, forgets his own names. He wonders how long it will take for him to forget the one he has now.
“Why… did you name me so?”
He stares you down. He wonders, as you bring a hand to your chin, how long it would take for him to still remember his title as the Balladeer, 6th of the Fatui Harbingers, or Kunikuzushi, the puppet that experienced his third betrayal, or kabukimono, the “wandering eccentric.”
“Well, I thought of another name before but I thought it would be too long.” You smile, seemingly thinking back on how you came up with his name.
“I was going to call you ‘Maneshitsugumi,’ which means mockingbird, right? It’s just a cute nickname of a longer name.”
You can’t tell him it’s because you heard him singing that one time in his boss fight, that’s just weird, and also his voice sounded heavenly and you would do ANYTHING to hear him sing like that again-
“Why mockingbird, then?”
Oops.
“I mean, you just look like you have a nice voice? Y’know…”
Wow, he looks so suspicious of you. Heat creeps up your neck as he brings his hand to his chin.
“Ahaha yeah, y’know, when you head someone’s voice and you think how they would sound like when they sing? You have a nice voice and all…”
He sighs at your unexpected flustered state, crossing his arms in front of his chest.
“If you wanted to hear me sing, you could’ve just asked. Honestly, humans are so complicated with what they want sometimes.”
That wasn’t… quite what you were expecting, but it’s not like you’d give up an opportunity like this. His usual annoying face doesn’t look smug beyond belief or like he’s ready to pop a blood vessel. And it looked like he was genuine in his proposition, for some reason.
“I mean, if you want? Why all of a sudden though?”
“It’s the least I could do, for giving me my name.”
Alright then. You weren’t complaining. Now you could brag to the Traveler that you got to hear Tsumugi sing willingly, hehe.
“Alright then, Mockingbird, I await the day when you sing for me. In the meantime, I’ll be resting up after the adventure we went through recently. Seeya~!”
As you waddle away, Tusmugi turns and tilts his hat down. At this point such movement was habitual, but this time it was so he could hide his conflicted face. What… was that? It’s not like him to offer services like that, let alone a mere human.
Trying to become either human or god was something he’s given up now. For now, traveling Teyvat with his newly acquired vision (God’s Eye) is plenty enough.
For now, he’ll have to think of something to perform for you soon.

ngl I don’t think the books we read in English lit were very interesting or impactful.
Macbeth? Spent the entire time thinking about how I originally wrote McBeth and was gobsmacked that I was wrong. A Christmas Carol? Charles Dickens can suck my dick. Fred is the foil, next. The Hunger Games? Just read it, we weren’t studying it at all. To Kill A Mockingbird? We stopped reading it halfway through bc our Canadian teacher realised that eleven year old kids were dying of boredom and so swapped to thg. The Great Gatsby? Beautifully put together, awful to read. Animal Farm? Okay so governments can’t be trusted and they had dumb names. Boring. Power and Conflict Poetry? Hit or miss. Philip Larkin poetry? Total bummer, bit of a whore.
An Inspector Calls? Flawless. Impactful. Men are awful. The rich are terrible. Responsibility is important. David Thewlis is, surprisingly to me, fuckable. Ghosts may be real. My sins will haunt me forever. It changed me as a person. I still think about it all the time. All the time. Seriously. Inspector Goole is a manifestation of my guilt.
I try to enjoy my blorbos and then I remember that Inspector Goole would drag them (as they deserve) and they simply. would. not. care.
In other words, I’m having a terrible time today.

Mockingbirds don't do one thing but make music for us to enjoy. They don't eat up people's gardens, don't nest in corncribs, they don't do one thing but sing their hearts out for us. That's why it's a sin to kill a mockingbird.
Harper Lee To Kill a Mockingbird

Gregory Peck and Ava Gardner in The Great Sinner (Robert Siodmak, 1949)
Cast: Gregory Peck, Ava Gardner, Melvyn Douglas, Walter Huston, Ethel Barrymore, Frank Morgan, Agnes Moorehead. Screenplay: Ladislas Fodor, Christopher Isherwood, René Fülöp-Miller, based on a novella by Fyodor Dostoevsky. Cinematography: George J. Folsey. Art direction: Hans Peters, Cedric Gibbons. Film editing: Harold F Kress. Music: Bronislau Kaper.
Gregory Peck's handsomeness and charisma made him a movie star, and served him well in films like Roman Holiday (William Wyler, 1953) and To Kill a Mockingbird (Robert Mulligan, 1962), but he never achieved the gravitas and vulnerability that would have made him a great actor. Unfortunately, both of those characteristics are what was needed to play the Dostoevskyan protagonist of The Great Sinner, loosely based on the novella The Gambler, with borrowings from Crime and Punishment and the author's own life, including his epilepsy and his addiction to gambling. The handsomely mounted production was a prestige project for MGM, but it ran into problems with the script and director Robert Siodmak's reluctance to film it as written. After the first cut, Siodmak was replaced by Mervyn LeRoy, with instructions to make more of the romance between the characters played by Peck and Ava Gardner. The cuts made in the film may explain why the roles played by Agnes Moorehead and Ethel Barrymore seem to be cast more generously than they deserve, considering the time they spend on screen. The "sin" of the title is gambling, of course, but the topic of gambling addiction is perfunctory at best. There are some good lines in the screenplay, such as the casino employee's observation that it's hard to detect patrons who are suicidal: "They smile right before they pull the trigger." And Ava Gardner is, as Peck's character calls her, "irritatingly beautiful." There's no excuse, however, for the swooningly pious climax of the film and the unconvincing happy ending. Best to skip The Great Sinner and watch a better movie about glamorous addicted gamblers, Jacques Demy's Bay of Angels (1963).

Welcome to newsie’s big king rant!! *cracks knuckles* i apologise for spelling mistakes or grammar innacuracies
i’ll start with AKB but i’ll do it in three parts ranging how much knowledge i have on the subject
andrew keenan bolger was born on the 16th may 1985 in detroit. he has 2 older sisters, maggie and celia ( who won a tony award for “to kill a mockingbird”!) he’s married to scott bixby since 2018 and their relationship is so nice and wholesome it’s so cute.
HES 5’4. IM 5’5. it’s so funny to think he’s shorter than me but whatever 😭😭
his first broadway role was in the OBC of seussical as alternate Jojo in 2000-2001 of which he did ONE broadway show then got kicked coz he hit puberty LMFAO poor 15 year old andrew
he then went on to be robertson ay in mary poppins THEN went in a woekshop for newsies and papermill and broadway( fun fact i think he’s the only actor who stayed in the same role for the workshop, papermill then obc of newsies )
during newsies he got a lot of fans which honestly yeah real but in march 2013 he left newsies to begin rehersing for tuck everlasting which didn’t make it until 2016 bc there wasn’t a suitable theatre for a transfer to broadway yet ( another fun fact if it had stayed in the realm of 2013 sadie sink would have played winnie instead of sarah charles lewis )
then in 2017 he was in kris kringle the musical playing kris kringle and in 2021 he was in seven deadly sins the off broadway musical playing phillipe
in september ( not sure if going ahead due to sag aftra ) he’s gonna star in “dracula a comedy of terrors” which seems very fun!! he posted a rlly funny photo of him wearing vampire teeth
ok other things than theatre he’s done i’m so sorry gang
so in 1997 he was chip’s singing voice in that lovely enchanted christmas beauty and the beast spinoff which i watched ALL OF IT just to find he’s in ONE FUCKING SONG and he’s only in the credits ONCE
( however tim curry is in it and he’s a fat smash so 🤷🏻‍♀️ )
he was in this show called looking in 2014 don’t watch it if ur under 18 i’m fucking traumatised from it don’t curse yourself with that PLEASE GOD DONT SEARCH ANDREW KEENAN ON GIFS EITHER
he had like a miniseries called ‘submissions only’ which also performed at 54 below
he has a podcast called ‘that sounds right’ which is SO FUCKING FUNNY PLEASE GO LISTEN TO IT I LOVE IT SO MUCH
OH SHIT YEAH HE WAS ALSO IN ( these are all like regional theatre ?? )
high school musical as ryan
perez hilton saves the universe…😬 as a shit ton of different ppl
LITTLE SHOP AS SEYMOUR!!!!!
a really funny parody video called ‘sherlock the musical” it’s so funny bc my irl friend robin thinks he looks like martin freeman
OTHER THINGS I JUST LIKE ABOUT HIM
he’s not afraid to post whatever on his socials 💀 like i’ll be scrolling and that one pic of him licking the screen is there and i’m like 😀 ok andrew
hes really funny
hes honest and open about not being the best dancer which is so real ( so he showed up to newsies to audition and , in his own words , apparently the directors thought he was a good enough dancer to play a boy with a crutch BAHHAHA WHICH IS SO RELATABLE OH MY HOD )
i think that’s it!! please enjoy i’m soo tired i’ll do some more ranting soon :3
thank you for all the knowledge! fun fact: I saw Celia perform in TKAM (very good) and my grandma used to baby sit Jeff Daniels' (Atticus) cousin because they grew up in the same town
also the note about his lack of dancing skills reminded me of his old youtube videos and one video he was talking about an audition he botched (there was basketball choreo he was supposed to learn) and instead, because he didn't know what to do, he just put the basketball in his shirt and pretended to be pregnant??? hey directors like a strong acting choice and he delivered.

8. A hazy memory
8. a hazy memory...
You are seventeen and your hands are red.
Your hands are red, but you push onward. Your hands are red, but you still swing intending to kill. Your hands are red, but you can only see the terrified faces of children you once knew, grown now, but no less fearful for their age. They are still children in your eyes; children that trusted you— trust you still. Your heartbeat is loud in your ears; you cannot hear the mangled scream of the man who falls to the sure strike of your blade before he can turn it upon you.
“They are only thieves. Do not let it weigh on your minds. Our duty is one of great import.”
You have killed many, and some you will always think were deserving of their fate, but you have never seen yourself as an arbiter of divine justice; even now, you do not dispense it. When you draw blood, you do so in your name alone. No life is weighed more or less than the rest. In death, all are the same. To call it their duty makes it sound holy— like taking a life is some righteous act, blessed by Sothis’ grace.
(Where is that divine grace now? It has abandoned you all these years, even when you prayed and prayed and prayed. You knew then that the goddess was a liar— and you prayed still. You pray still.)
It is their duty to kill them— to wipe them out, as though they can erase their existence entirely. And they can. You may remember, but who else will? History will forget. It is their duty because—
Because they are children born and raised in the streets. Hunger is their mother and desperation their father and the spawn of both is a sinner. Because gods do not care for those unblessed by their divine gaze, and their worshippers care even less so. But you are a wolf in sheep’s clothing, a mockingbird swathed in the silks of a noble— and though this savagest of birds has played the part, it will never turn its knives on its own.
Your pulse leaps and runs with every man who falls to your blade. Leaps and runs, too, with every child that falls to theirs. The ground is slick with blood. Whose, you can no longer tell, but it matters not. For every one that falls to their blade, three shall fall to yours. The thundering of your heartbeat is the flutter of the Savage Mockingbird’s wings, the flames of it stoked by a gift left in your blood when you hovered on the precipice of death itself.
(Something that was once holy, perhaps, but surely when he saved a dying boy all those years ago, he’d not known you would be a killer.)
Where is their goddess now? Nothing on this battlefield is holy.
You are seventeen and your hands are red and you are praying to a goddess you do not believe in to absolve you of your sins.

Can I ask for Gotham Jervis with enemies to lovers S/O? She would be his opposite, riding on motorcycle, wearing leather and wouldn't be able to stand each other (she would call him Willy Wonka rip off) but they had to work together and slowly starts liking each other (she would start laughing at his jokes, he would though her working on her motor is attractive).
Also unresolved jealousy since she would be flirty with targets while he would be talking all about 'Alice'
do opposites truly attract?
pairing: jervis tetch x fem!reader
a/n: uh-oh! did someone say leather???? i'm in.
summary: small headcanons of jervis tetch with an opposite fem reader, heads up for killing mentions and a wound
Tumblr media
🕰) oh querida, the chaos?? *spanish voice* diosito mio, rezo por ustedes mis amores.
🕰) anyways, as we know, he really dresses like in the 19 century for some reason and has nice manners while you are like a feral wild cat, who had absolutely no manners and impulsive.
🕰) jervis couldn't stand working with you, she always putting your boots up on the table during tea time, he has tried correcting you many times but you can't change.
🕰) when you two weren't in an alliance you would fight and attack each other, but even with an alliance it wouldn't stop the insults from occurring, he was absolutely offended when you called him a 'willy wonka rip-off', he wanted nothing but your head served on a plate and you also desired his.
🕰 every time you two spoke, it is like a passive-aggressive discussion, but it doesn't stay that way as you poke and prod him, until he looses patience and prods harder.
🕰) so jervis needed this alliance with you now, and you needed it too. and so, due to a collective need, you had to work together in a heist, and of course, another schemes, he needed the brawl, and he was the full brain.
🕰) on one of these plans you got gravely hurt, he could've left you to die but for some reason, he became incapable to do it, you know, leaving you to get caught. jervis, saved you and well you had to stay with him for some time, the police had really hitted well.
🕰) the tension was always dense in the air the first days, the first one you tried to kill him and you threatened him and laughed at his vulnerability because he did not let you rot and die, and he simply responded with a condensending
"well my dear mockingbird, i guess if instead of thanking me, you are going to mock, i might as well shoot you, even though it can be considered a sin."
🕰) let's say that after that you were very quiet and more nice to him, he began hanging more around your bed-ed form, and talking not in a passive-aggressive way, like actual human conversation.
🕰) jervis learned a lot by having to be with you, he learned you really like leather coats, he also learned you had a tattoo! our mad hatter here started feeling warmth and not the hating heat he felt when thinking of you as an enemy.
🕰) but from your perspective, jervis was in another light, in one you haven't felt in a long time, it could be considered a crush or more, but his jokes seemed funnier when they weren't targeted with aggression, even though when you were able to walk while healing you didn't bolt out into your lair, you stayed and helped domestically.
🕰) once you could fully move the first thing was checking on your motorcycle, jervis decided to accompany you by the excuse that you were going to get hurt by recklessness. even though he liked to admit seeing you get your hands dirty and being so, so strong, made his blood flush into his face, some grease got into your face and he offered you a napkin with his initials.
🕰) on the next heist you did together you were continuing the suit of your flirty personality against the targets, sending winks and complimenting, only that jervis felt a pang of negative feelings against the targets, or you? he didn't know, he only felt this when alice paid attention to something else, why did he felt that against you?
🕰) on the other hand, you felt a pang of jealousy every time he spoke about alice as if she was immaculate or a deity, just that when you acted flirty against the targets, jervis would stare at you while looking really pissed.
🕰) when you both of you stopped working together the dynamic was a nonromantic game of cat and mouse, he did something to spite you, and you would try to get his ass, and viceversa, it felt like fun, and not vengeance
🕰) sometimes you would just appear and spend tea time with him, even though you decided to stay anf not confront, jervis didn’t do that, he identified his feelings, and didn’t want to shut up about them in fear, he has planned a whole game to tell you how he felt, and he only could wait to tell you.
